I was there on thursday. Firstly, it appeared that all their meat was frozen which i thought it was odd for a butcher shop. I could be wrong but all I saw was frozen meat. I ended up buying a frozen pork tenderloin, brought it home and threw it in the freezer since it was already frozen. I Pulled it out to thaw on Sunday morning and noticed the expiry date was Aug 4, 2011. I realize it's frozen but even still 7 years past the date is a little too long. I brought it back and was refunded with no issue, the woman did say however that since it's frozen it's fine, so would seem that it's common practice there. I just can't trust that meat has been properly frozen for 7 years, and even if it was it probably wouldn't taste very good, not to mention it raises the question of product turnover....why do they even have a 7 year old piece of pork?
