The team from Hills Moving were great! From the very beginning, Brandon and his team were professional and helpful. We used their service with three trucks and six movers, which made onloading and offloading both efficient and timely. The group of guys were friendly and determined. They wrapped furniture items that needed protection and made sure they were handled with care. Their team leader, Carl, made sure everything ran smoothly. Even though he was easy-going, he always made sure his crew was in line and working to get the job done correctly and safely. He was a master at fitting everything in the trucks like Tetris blocks! Hills Moving managed our move from Richmond Hill to Burlington last week on the hottest day of the summer so far! Kevin & his crew did a fantastic job - from the early morning courtesy call letting us know they were leaving the yard, to packing up our home in RH & unloading in Burlington. Worst moving company ever. They forgot about our move, even though they sent us confirmation of our move date, 3 workers, etc. Then they send 2 guys instead of 3 a few hours late. These guys were good, but they really needed another body as we've originally booked. Then dealing with Brandon to get some sort of compensation for their mistakes, was very unprofessional. We booked this company due to their good reviews. I guess if they dont screw up, you'll be ok. If they do, good luck dealing with them as they were not professional.

Really disappointed with this moving company. They arrived 2 hours late and were exhausted when they arrived. Having waited for them to arrive we expected them to jump to it but I was moving quicker than they were. They gave an estimate of 6 hours and ended up taking 9 hours!! When booking the service we had specified an upright piano yet they guys who came had no notes of that on their documents and had not brought the equipment they needed to move the piano - one of the guys had to leave and fetch the stuff and was gone for 2 hours. (we live 10 mins from there offices) Would not recommend anyone using them.

Great moving crew Lukas, Kevin (K2) and Tony. They are really nice guys and really take care of your items. They arrived early and were able to start my contract the moment I got access to the service elevator. They did a great job at wrapping and packing the stuff I was not able to in advance and everything arrived damage free. I moved to the upper unit of a stacked town house so there were 3 flights of stair and it was a very humid day. That said, there were no complaints at all even though I probably should have said something in advance about the stairs. Super impressed by the professionalism and care taken in their work.

The guys that work for Hills Moving are almost like family now, as they have moved us twice in the last year and a half, first from Lindsay to Blenheim (Chatham) then from Blenheim to Bobcaygeon. They worked late into the night to make sure we got all packed up and loaded and arrived exactly on time for when the house closed..this last move was Jan 6 and 7th 2020.. Hills Moving was recommended to us and we’re so glad we used them for our move. Their prices were fair, the service received prior, during and after our move was polite, professional and helpful. The junk removal bin was delivered on time and was more than ample to accommodate the items we were getting rid of. It was picked up the next day...as promised. With respect to the move, the team provided were incredible! They ensure that the floors and stairs were covered to protect against scuffs and scrapes. They ensured that no damage occurred to either the walls or our furniture during the move. They were polite, friendly and funny and worked exceedingly hard. They kept us abreast of any issues and involved us in decisions with respect to any challenges that came up. Kevin, Karl and Bobby were terrific throughout what was a long day for them as we’d moved away from the Durham region. We definitely recommend Hills Moving. Five star all around.

Our experience with Hills moving was terrible from start to finish! The 3-person crew openly argued with one another throughout the move and refused to help each another. We had moved most our belongings in advance including delicate, valuable belonging such as TV’s. The items that remained included 3 disassembled beds, 3 dressers (drawers had already been moved to the new house), a disassembled treadmill and weight bench, a hutch, table, chairs, and 3-seater couch. All these items fit into one 18ft truck leaving the second truck empty. I booked 3 hours thinking this was plenty of time for “professional” movers to take the few items we had 1 km down the road, I was wrong. It took almost 5 hours to move these few items 1 km. I called Hills office halfway into the move to express my concerns about the length of time the move was taking and how poorly the team was working together, John told me he would contact them but that it was reasonable that this move would take over 4 hours. We were encouraged to pay cash which in hindsight we should not have agreed to as it leaves us in a position with little recourse. To finish off our experience despite having carefully moved our TV’s a mover hit our Sony Smart TV cracking the screen and breaking it. After Hills investigated, they offered us a 1-hour credit on our next move. We will never use Hills again this move cost $740 plus another $700-$1,000 for us to replace out TV. FYI - any insurance package they offer excludes electronics.

Changed the price at the end of the move Broke several items to which they said sorry here's 50 bucks for the thousand dollar piece of furniture we broke Disassembled everything with own tools because they didn't bring anything themselves. In the past I have used other movers. I never expected it to be a positive experience. You can imagine what my feelings were when the two movers were polite and friendly. They did not waste one minute. It was a hot day, but that didn't slow them down. Every item arrived without damage. I would not ever consider another mover.

An Excellent moving experience!! We just moved from east Toronto ( Scarborough) to Welland Ontario. Our initial dealings with Hills Moving was as the result of a quote from a competitor that we considered outlandish (north of 10K) for a 24000 ib move. We emailed several members of Hills Moving and came up with a much more realistic quote. However, we were concerned that the quote was actually TOO LOW and that we"d be the victims of some sort of last minute furniture hijacking or something. Our fears were totally unfounded. The moving team showed up on time with all the trucks promised and got right to task. They started around 9:00 am and the moving team finished about 8:30PM in Welland!!! They were FANTASTIC! and AMAZING!! I labeled all the boxes and aside from a predictable wrinkle or two the move went off without a hitch. The Price:: BETTER than the Quote!!! Would I use Hills moving again?? I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!!

Movers were fine. They were pleasant and introduced themselves. They put down floor protection, then didn't walk on it so it got a little wet, but no harm done. Brandon in head office is another story. He seemed ready for a fight. My wife was quoted a move at $129 an hour (for two men). They got it done in the hour, but "rounded up" 15 minutes. Apparently this is normal practice. This alone made no sense to me. Then they wanted to charge me $300 because 5 men moved a sofa and 2 tub chairs. We didn't ask for 5 men. They assigned 5 men because somebody set fire to one of their trucks, and they had to rush off to another job after this one with the 5 guys. Why should we have to pay for that? When I raised the point, he accused me of being rude. In the end I couldn't even talk to him. We settled for $175 with tax. When my wife set this up, she was promised that there would be no hidden charges. Think again. In fact, think twice before hiring this company. A pretty good start ruined by the guy in their office.

We booked Hills Movers to move from our 1333 sq ft home in Whitby to our new larger home 5 mins down the road. Our real estate agent recommended them and the pricing was good. I read through a lot of good and bad reviews first to know what to expect. We got Charie, Mario and Dante as our move team with 2 trucks. The 3 of them arrived right on time and were very personable, quick, hardworking and amazing at their job. Hills also provided free boxes after we booked the move with them. Our furniture was plastic saran wraped and arrived safely. Our large wall paintings were wrapped in clean movers blankets and securely taped. Took about 11 hours to do the move. It was a long day for the guys so we bought them burgers for lunch, pizza for dinner and gave them a tip at the end. Overall very happy and I would recommend them.

First time using a moving company. Was initially a little reluctant to do so, and then... COVID. Hills came highly recommended by our realtor agent. We settled on two 18 ft trucks and 3 movers for our 1400 sq ft home based on the recommendations of John. He couldn't have been more bang on. Everything fit perfectly into the 2 trucks. Mario, Alex & Charlie were excellent. They moved quickly, efficiently and were a pleasure to work with. Money extremely well spent! Wouldn't move anywhere without the help of these guys! Only downfall, they were a little late on expected arrival, but DID make sure that we were aware of their initial delay well in advance.

All was looking good while they were loading my stuff, but when I went to unpack that's when I noticed a few problems. All my boxes were labelled, "this side up" and had the contents of the boxes listed on the tops but four of my boxes were upside down when I went to unpack. One box had sugar, flour, cherrios all dumped all over the cutlery and cloth napkins. Another box had family pictures and a couple of them, the glass came off the frames. My sauna must have gotten banged around pretty bad as it no longer works. The boys were all polite and pleasant the first day but because my house didn't close on time, the truck with all my belongings had to go back to Oshawa until the next day when the house finally closed. The second day I was not as impressed with the work that was done, but I didn't realize it until too late. I did make contact with the manager to inform him of my sauna, but no one has since replied. I would unfortunately not recommend this company with conviction.

What a professional experience! May 30, 2020 We hired Hills moving, a hometown @Town of Ajax business with an existing solid reputation. The moved was pre-discussed with the professionals at Hills. They provided us with a recommendation of a 26’ truck and 3 men. We were able to book the move online which we loved. We offered a deposit to book the move but were advised this is not required. We were quoted a price per hour, which was reasonable and adhered to with absolutely no other hidden costs. Within a day of the booking, we had 50 perfect sized boxes, loads of packing material and even packing tape delivered to our house. This gave us an easy month to prepare and didn’t have to worry about moving supplies! Our move team, Charlie (Team Leader), Mario and Alex were very professional, polite, and energetic. The move was scheduled for 9:00 am. Charlie, called at 8:15 am to advise they could begin early if we wanted, but no pressure to do so. We were happy to start as soon as they could get there. Throughout the day, the team was very committed to their tasks at hand. They disassembled furniture quickly but carefully and wrapped everything before loading onto the truck. We maintain a business at home with a computer network consisting of a dozen devices as well as a lot of very sensitive & expensive electronics diagnostic equipment. The team handled all of that brilliantly. All items arrived in perfect condition. We felt compelled at times to actually go and make sure they were getting adequate breaks and fluids as it seemed to us that they never really stopped. They were also equipped with fluids for the whole team. Their gear and moving supplies (pads, packing, wrapping, boxes, hardware) were of the highest caliber, and they sure knew how to use it. We actually had a delay at the new house which lasted a couple of hours. The professional moving team was calm and understanding as they waited before unloading. Their work reassembling everything was equally professional with all screws & parts kept in order and accessible. Mid move, we actually had a call from the President of Hills, Brandon Hill just to make sure we were up to speed and comfortable with everything that was happening. We appreciated that. This is a company that is motivated and completely committed to total customer satisfaction. I can’t advise whether Hills has the lowest price, but I can say with certainly that they delivery the highest value solution. We were beyond satisfied with our expectations being exceeded and we highly recommend Hills moving to anyone looking for a professional to take the worry out of moving. Steve & Brigitte Boyd

Claims to be the top movers in Durham but apparently cannot afford traffic cones. They completed a move in Oshawa on Harmony road today and left their moving van sticking halfway out blocking an entire lane of traffic. They had room to move back more, which they did not utilize. Additionally they had no traffic cones up leaving some pretty close calls with oncoming vehicles.

Hills moved my 88 year old mother-in-law yesterday from her 14th floor condo to the 6th floor of a seniors residence (Scarborough to Pickering). The guys arrived promptly (a little early actually which we appreciated), shook our hands, introduced themselves, and went to work like a well oiled machine. They were respectful, discussed issues with us before proceeding, such as pre-existing damage. (When you have 100-150 year old antiques, they pick up scratches and dents through the years). They methodically wrapped and took great care to protect as much as possible all the furniture and antiques as if they belonged to them. I have used this company twice because my first experience was great. The second time around however I was very disappointed. The movers were nice but inexperienced and took a long time to move me. When you are paying by the hour that is very frustrating. I ended up having to deal with broken or incorrectly placed furniture after and things that should have been wrapped were not. I would have been far more willing to pay the money if there was more care and effort to move things in an organized way but basically everything was just dumped in rooms. Expressed my frustration to management by email and was never contacted back which is disappointing since I am a repeat customer. Will use a different company next time. Very disappointing as I had such a great previous experience.

I would like to start off by saying the team at Hills Movers that moved me were amazing! Thanks guys!!!!! BE AWARE: My problem is with the Hills Moving Inc. and their system for estimating jobs, which you need to be aware is NOT guaranteed. My estimate was for $1,800 and the final cost was for $2,300; which equates to a 28% (or $500) in additional costs that I had not planned or budgeted for. This was the first time I had used Hills Movers; and in hind site I should have used Three Men and A Truck who also provide excellent services; and guarantee their estimates by 10% (over/ under). Unfortunately, I was going through a separation and was trying to watch my budget and took the lowest price. In hind site, Three Men and a Truck would have saved me almost $300. Sad, when talking to Hills Movers, there was nothing they were willing to do to honour the original estimate, or at the very least help out with some sort of a refund. I hope this will encourage Hills and other companies to do a better job with quoting and ensuring they stand behind their estimates. If not, what is stand in the way of companies providing the cheapest price and then charging the most ...which I feel is what happened to me.

Hill's Moving was incredible - these guys work hard and with care. We booked a 3 man move from a stacked town house in Etobicoke and moved 1 hour north of the GTA... they provided boxes, packing tape, closet boxes and mattress covers. They wrapped everything in blankets re-tapped boxes to insure safe transport of our belongings. Our move from our townhouse was not an easy one and Hill's did a seriously great job. The guys we had were super friendly and great to work with. (and Hill's apologize I have forgotten their names) Honestly if this place has a bad review disregard it - treat people the way you expect to be treated and everything will run smoothly. These guys worked hard and never complained once ! Every aspect from the booking to the final box was a positive one, don't hesitate to book Hill's - highly recommended !!

We used Hills Moving after our realtor Tanya Crepulja highly recommended them and my wife and I were impressed with their experience, professionalism, adaptability, efficiency and care. We commissioned 4 movers and two trucks. First thing I noticed is that their trucks were clean inside and the moving blankets looked brand new. They moved our 1680 sqft stacked condo townhouse (we are in the third and fourth floor) and a 5 x 14 storage locker to our new home about 25 km away in 4 hours (Started at 0930hrs and finished at 1330hrs). They also had to haul our couch over the balcony as it was 8 feet tall and wouldn't go down the stairs without damaging the walls. They used a technique called the Sherpa to move stuff. So they were hauling 4-5 boxes, manually, at a time. I would definitely use them again.

We moved my Mother-in-Law to a congregate living area which required all "soft" items to be sealed. They also required the movers to arrive by noon to allow their maintenance staff to move the items to the apartment. Both due to covid issues. Hills Moving was recommended by the Realtor. Hills provided a cost per hour, provided a third person to ensure a timely move and wrapped everything "soft" in plastic as required. Everything went as planned. Amazing movers, they had to move boxes and some furniture up a long set of steps, on Davenport, north side, and then up another flight to the second floor of the house. They were just like sherpas as the two guys stacked the boxes literally on their backs and the climbed up those long flights up to the house. I had a lot of cash go missing during the move, additionally there are quite a few broken items they refuse to pay for even though we got the insurance. The excuse is “we’re under criminal investigation so we can’t insure those items” There’s another review here that I noticed almost the identical thing happened, Brandon was called and treated us in the exact same way, he was intense, defensive and angry. He blamed us for the cash going missing and told us he wasn’t covering any of it, and that I should have read the contract about safes (I didn’t sign the contract with him to be clear) P.S. read these 5/5 reviews carefully, you’ll notice there’s something fishy about them. Edit for response: I’d like to clarify some details to the response I see below: The police did not search them that night, if they did another day then that’s a different story. Hills moving refused to cover the damaged goods, we’ve sent all photos of damaged items to Brandon as it’s mandatory to send photos within a certain time frame to be eligible to have them covered, he has still refused to cover them (includes a broken piano leg) To this day Brandon has refused to give us or our insurance company his insurance information. There are some other details here about the safe that are blatant lies like this key for example. Additionally it was me you spoke to that night, I can see from the twisting of facts that this company is dishonest through and through.

John was able to set up a time and date that were perfect even though I called on short notice !!!!!!. On day of move, the truck was almost full and crew were told that they had to unload into a smaller truck as the company wanted the big truck for another move. Grrr. Once at the new home the crew were annoyed I was moving into a 3 story townhome. Boxes were clearly labelled, but didn't make it to 3rd floor. I told them it was an 11 hour move. They wanted to be done in 9 and once one of them mentioned going for a drink they really wanted to leave. They left boxes clearly labelled bedroom in the first floor. There was a large hole in my couch like someone put a rod through it. Most of my wooden furniture was damaged, with chips, scars, broken stops, etc. They obviously weren't using blankets to protect my furniture. A Pallister Wall unit was so damaged, its lost it's value. All the stop pins for the doors were snapped off. The sill at the top of the stairs was ripped and they had a brown marker and just inked it in. Of course that was a quick fix which didn't last. There was wall and ceiling damage. Owner said he'd do a couple of things for me and then decided he would only do one. He sent a team of 3 for an hour to move boxes and furniture from the first floor to the third. When I asked when was my damaged furniture going to be fixed, owner decided not to fix it. Nightmare with initial crew and Lead Hand who acted like juveniles. Pay a bit extra and avoid this firm at all costs.

Moving is stressful enough as it is, not to mention I'm far along in my pregnancy, but dealing with Hills Moving Company made it much easier. The move itself was great! The men showed up, explained the paperwork to me and they started wrapping and packing the truck right away. We were so impressed with our movers, right from the start! We got a call from Curtis in the truck, saying when they would arrive. Upon arrival, he explained the contract and fees. After showing them our boxes, they went to work, quickly and carefully loading everything into the truck. There were a few pieces we had not protected. They wrapped them in plastic wrap. Within a few hours, we were on the road to our new house! Curtis and crew then unloaded, taking the time to care for the walls as they carried boxes and such, to their rooms. Hill’s Moving has basically taken the stress of moving away from me when I needed it the most. I cannot say enough about the amazing, knowledgeable staff that represent Hill’s Moving and Storage. I was in need of moving out of a 3 bedroom house. I knew I needed to rent a dumpster but had been calling around for prices but was not aware at the time Hill’s also rented out dumpsters. A friend of mine had used Hill’s in the past and recommended I use them for all of my moving needs as they were very reliable and professional. She also explained their rates were very competitive. So I called them up to do a bit of research. Within the first few minutes of the call, I could tell Hill’s Moving and Storage was going to meet my needs. A competitive quote for moving was provided. The next day a very nice gentleman dropped off boxes and tape so that I could start packing up the contents of my home. We also arranged for the dumpster to be delivered to my address. They accommodated the date I needed the box for without hesitation. The dumpster rental cost was far below costs quoted to me by other junk removal companies. The two staff that came to deliver the dumpster were professional and very skilled in their trade. I was concerned that the space I was asking for them to drop the box in was going to be too small but they worked as a team and got the job done. Next step...the move. This is something I will be back to report on. If how I have been treated so far is any indication of what I can expect in the future, I will be in great hands. Thank You Hill’s Moving and Storage. I hired Hills to do a move from a storage unit into a house. It was the reverse from the previous moving company - they had done the same stuff, house to storage unit. Hills' "3-man crew" couldn't match the performance of the other company's 2 men. Reason being, the other company actually sent 2 men. Hills sent me 2 boys and a girl. I complained and bounced some emails back and forth with them but, predictably, they stopped responding. At one point they tried to claim they had thrown me a freebie by moving my piano without surcharging me anything. They were advised about the piano from the 1st communication and that person told me it was included, that they didn't surcharge for things like that. And then they forgot to inform their crew that they would be moving a piano. Just generally not a professional company. $300 more than the other company, and no distance involved, Hills move was Pickering to Pickering. The other company was faster and charged less and they had to travel to and from Brampton to Pickering. And still they were faster and cheaper.

Great choice for anyone in need of reliable movers. The team did multiple follow up calls with me as we approached moving day. Moving day itself went flawlessly. I am taking an opporunity to provide my experience with this moving company. Upon hiring them, everything seemed great. Brandon ( the owner explained the process and what to expect. However, I have come to realize that there are items missing from my home and the only inidividuals who had accessed to these items, were myself and the 3 movers from Hills Moving. Immediately upon noticing the missing items, as they are not regularly used, I called Brandon to nofity him. Brandon relied on the fact that his movers are bonded without a criminal record as jusitification on why it could not be his movers. He then went on to tell me that if I valued the items, they should be on me at all times. These items were behind a closed door in which his movers where explicitly told were not contents to be included in the move. He further went on with asinine comments stating the contract does not cover these items and it should have been read. I informed him that I missed the section of the contract where it indicated that my items would be taken without my permission. He also has a tendency of informing you that his father is a police officer (who cares) thinking that would instill fear or intimidate his clients. This has been mentioned many times on various reviews. Howeever, the most over the top comment is where he informs me that his movers wear a camera during the move in which, I did not give authority of any recordings of my house. My advice is complete your due diligence when hiring a company. I will never use this company again and will gladly share my experience with anyone who asks.

It was the worst move that ever could of happened! Me and my Girlfriend were moving from our apartment to a rental house when our new house was getting built. The mover were nice enough but they swore like truckers, no pun intended. I looked through reviews of all the movers in the Durham/Ajax area and they had a outstanding record. They had a 4.5 Star on google, but after my move I came to the conclusion they are using bots or fake reviews. Which is super sad because that goes against so many business codes! Anyways, my move was terrible they scratched my furniture, I had a antique china cabinet that has been in the family for years. Once I got it in the new rental house the cabinet had a giant scratch in the oak. They made marks on the walls and even made a dent. This really ticked me off since it is a rental house, which I told them! Our new house was still getting built and we needed a house for a few months, we didn't intend on painting it or doing any repairs which we had to do to fix our walls! I talked to the owner Brandon and he was so rude to me. He seemed like he wanted to argue with me all day about his crew! Anyways I used another company for my next move and that went much better.

We had booked Hills Moving just based on a google search and reviews (and our due diligence of getting a couple quotes from other places) After booking (but before the move) we found out one of our neighbor's had used them a while ago and she had raved about them, so I was happy to hear. Prior to the move I had multiple questions and Brandon (or office Staff) always answered the phone and answered all of my questions. They also sent us a moving package with a bunch of boxes and packing supplies which was a bonus! A week or so before we received a confirmation call to confirm all was good. On the day of the move the guys were on time and started to get to work right away. Ash (lead), Dave, Richard & Justin were all amazing & hard workers. They know to to properly pack a truck a make use of all the space.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Worst moving experience I have ever encountered. Very unprofessional behavior from the movers - especially the leader of the team. There were 4 issues that happened during the move. 1. Doug, the main mover broke the lever of my reclining couch. He openly told me to thank him after he broke it because he said the space was tight and I should be thankful he was even able to move the couch. 2. We were promised that the movers could take a part my bed (in writing during our communication). DO NOT trust your movers to do this. They lost nails and did not say anything to us. When they left, we sat on the bed only to have it collapse and break. The base of the bed was also bent during the move, which they denied when we mentioned it (even though this bed was brand new and had been bought only a couple months before). 3. The movers gave me lip-service when I asked for all furniture to be saran-wrapped. In the end, they did not do it, saying they were the experts. Two pieces of my furniture had massive chips in it from the careless move. 4. The movers took over an hour lunch break. We signed off on them leaving and when they came back they never asked us to sign off on the start time. When the movers were leaving, we noticed they messed up the timing and lied about how long their lunch break is. When we spoke about this to Doug he got defensive and accused us of not supporting "workers taking lunch breaks" because they're humans too. He was so aggressive we quickly agreed to pay for the extra time just to get him out of our new place. My experience was offer. I do not recommend. Moving is already stressful enough without the addition of terrible movers.

I've had a fantastic experience with Hills Moving. They have no hidden fees unlike other movers tried surprising me with, and they've been very quick to reply to my inquiries. I heard about them through my sister who used their services for her big move, and they were quick, reliable and just nice people to work with! The movers were nice guys but the damaged they caused is unbelievable. Ceiling damaged, walls scuffed, Fridge had dents, bbq damaged, dining table chipped, wine glasses broken and they are the ones who did the packing (glasses were worth more than the move) night tables are scratched. Brandon was rude to my wife, he also kept messaging two of the guys asking them to get the cash for the move before the move was even done, he called them about 5 times and they were getting annoyed also. He also sent a 5th guy in the morning and tried to change the rate. Best was two guys were being trained and Sean who was great had to spend so much time showing them how to do things that it took hours longer. Never use this company, I’ve already spoken to my agent who recommended them and told him the storey. Hire anyone else... not worth the risk.

Saw employees sitting in a parking lot in the moving truck and drinking beers at about 11AM. Called the company to let them know about this reckless and unprofessional behaviour only to have them call back afterwards and say that they had a police officer who is a family member go give Breathalyzer tests “behind the building”. I never left the parking lot so I knew that this was a lie. If they don’t care about ruining lives with drunk driving, they probably don’t care about your furniture.
