November 2020. We have recently moved from Brechin, Ontario to Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia and used Munden's Moving & Storage. They were fantastic! Starting off with Nicole in the office, an absolutely delightful lady, who always took the time to answer all my many questions. Her reassurance that everything was "in order" as the moving date approached, helped me immensely! Moving day arrives and Rob, the owner himself, arrives promptly bringing with him 2 trucks and a crew of very efficient and amiable men (and one young woman who worked just as diligently!). Big thanks to Roger, Tristan, Wade, Calvin, Danielle and Jeff. I have to even mention because my husband and I were in "self-isolation" for 2 weeks, Jeff was kind enough to phone several days later, stating he was going to be in the area and did we need anything. Well, we actually did need a few items and as promised, he dropped them off for us. Is that not "kindness" itself? WOW, a big thumbs up for Munden's and its staff & crew!

I had the worst experience with Munden's. I cannot say strongly enough DO NOT USE this moving company at all costs if you care about your possessions. I used Munden's at the recommendation of a friend, who had had a good experience. And their website says, they're a highly rated local business. The way they treated me as a customer was appalling. The company did not follow its procedure and ensure all of my things had been delivered - they did not check off the boxes as they were being unloaded. As a result, they lost one of my boxes. The box contained invaluable ceramics that I had collected from around the world. When I notified the company, it was days before they responded to me. They only started making calls to locate the box after I had to press them to do so. Then almost 4 weeks went by without any updates or information. It was only when I followed up that I was told that another client had been given my box and "thrown it out". That does not make any sense. But even if that is true, if they had called the client right away, they likely could have prevented him from throwing away my important things. I received no apology. Every time I called or emailed for information, I was treated with disregard and told they are really busy. I had to send 4 emails and call twice to find out what they were going to give me as compensation for my box. One of their staff yelled and me and hung up on me. She refused to let me speak to a manager. It was completely unbelievable. DO NOT USE MUNDEN'S MOVING!

If I could give six stars, I would! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! After countless attempts at finding a moving company to transport a treadmill from Halifax to Toronto, I landed on Mundens. Gladys was such a pleasure to speak to and assured me that my shipment would be handled with care. I was notified when the truck left Halifax and the estimated date/time of arrival (which was spot on!) Rob delivered my treadmill and helped assemble it with his team. I am blown away by the professionalism and care that Mundens took with my shipment. We used Munden's for a move from Toronto to Dartmouth and I couldn't have asked for a better long-distance moving experience. Your stuff goes on and off the same truck -- no selling loads, no van lines, no local agents. We loaded on a Thursday and Friday, and unloaded on the following Tuesday, following a Monday stat holiday. With a two-day drive, there was the minimum of waiting around without furniture! At the Toronto end, Rob Munden himself and his team ended up available to start loading us the afternoon before we were scheduled, but were very clear that they were only going to take what was ready and they didn't want to rush us. Then on the originally scheduled day they came back for the other half. Rob and his team were careful, efficient and friendly, wrapping all of our furniture carefully. They also packed our kitchen fragiles into dish barrels (which I recommend for any move, kitchen packing is an art!) and not a single thing was broken. In Dartmouth, the day started off with a team of three but ended up with six guys unloading (including Rob again!). The whole thing was done by noon. The whole move came in right at their estimate. The only complicated part is that they come to the GTA when they have a bunch of loads to do in one trip, so you need to be a little flexible in your move-out date (we moved ours ahead three days), and you'll only find out which day of a 3-4 day window is your day a couple days before the move, so you do need a little flexibility in that regard. But when they say it's on day X, they're there on that day. I've heard a lot of horror stories about long-distance moves, and even our realtor warned us about problems with long distance movers, until she heard we'd gone with Munden's: "Oh, you'll be fine then."

BRILLIANT moving service! Munden's moved us from Toronto to Saint John, NB. Not only was the team super friendly and helpful but conscientous in how they wrapped EVERYTHING with moving blankets. We were also pleased to find out the truck driver was Rob Munden himself! These guys went out of their way to pack everything tightly to save us money (charge by square foot not weight). Highly, highly recommend!

I hired these movers twice, the first time I could not say enough good about them, they were fantastic, so I hired them again 5 years ago and they were not great different drivers, apparently the original ones left. These new one were unprofessional to say the least. The only reason i give 3 stars and not more is the good job the original men did. So my advice is check and see how recent a review is and when their move was if it is recent and it got high praise they have improved the drivers. The company itself I have no issue with they were fairly reasonable to deal with it was just those drivers at that time.

In November 2020, my partner and I hired Munden's Moving to move our large furniture as I had previously used them and had a good experience. One of the pieces of furniture was a new, higher quality Sauder presswood desk bought so she could work from home during the pandemic. One side had drawers and the other was supported by a sole piece of presswood. It makes sense to not put all the weight on the side without drawers. Unfortunately, one of the movers wrapped up the desk and a different mover then tipped the desk on its side to put it on the dolly, but on the side without the drawers. The wood snapped and the desk was now broken. We didn’t think it was a big deal, it's insured, and the movers assured us it was covered. So we went on with our day, everything was moved over and done. We knew we had 30 days to submit the insurance claim which we did the following Monday. Now this move happened at the end of November. Between the holiday season and COVID-19, I expected them to be rather busy. We sent along the requested information and waited a few days for an update but didn't receive any communication back. We eventually followed up two weeks later and they confirmed they were swamped but would get back to us ASAP. Fast forward three months (December, January, February) and we followed up with the company as we had heard nothing from them. That was when we were told it was clearly stated in the email we were sent before our move that IKEA-like furniture was not covered but as a sign of goodwill they would cover half the cost of the desk. Now I will admit, I had noticed the ”IKEA-like furniture” statement in the original email and assumed that it referred to furniture specifically from IKEA or similar flimsy furniture. This was a sturdy desk when you didn't try to pull all its weight on the wrong side. When I reached out to seek clarification, their response was the statement referred to anything made out of presswood. Here's the thing, pretty much all of mine and my partner’s furniture is presswood. The only furniture I own that isn't presswood are a few antique pieces and, that's right, furniture from IKEA. Solid wood furniture isn’t in a lot of people’s budgets anymore. If they had wanted to be clear about what their basic insurance did and didn’t cover, they should have used the phrase, “flat-pack furniture” instead of “IKEA-like”. When I pointed this out, their response was even if the piece was covered, they were only obligated to cover about 1/6 of the cost of the item (their basic insurance only covered 60 cents per lb of the item). Extended insurance would have added an additional $150 to $200 on top of the $1000 we paid for the move. I wanted to share this in case you were seeking their services in the future. If you have a bunch of solid wood furniture or you're flush with money for the extended insurance, you might be fine. However, given their response to our claim, I have my doubts that the extended insurance would offer enough extra protection. The movers were good overall but my interactions with the office assured that I will find another moving company the next time we move and that we will actively not recommend Munden’s to our friends and families.

We had not moved in 27 years so had all kinds of apprehension about our move from Sussex N.B. to Chester N.S. Our move was from our home to Munden’s storage for 9 months and back out of storage to Chester so lots of opportunity for mishap or so we thought . In recent months we have used the services of Munden's twice. The first time was in April to move some items to Saint John's, Newfoundland and the second time was toward the end of May when our son moved from Halifax to Toronto. From beginning to end, Munden's did everything right. Their office staff were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, they provided excellent advice and guidance. They took great care in preparing furniture and other items for transport, I can truly say they treated them as if they were their own belongings. They called before delivery arrival to ensure a time which was best for us, punctuality could be their trademark. Terrified of getting screwed over by dishonest movers? Don't be with Munden's! It is the definition of east coast hospitality and service. Gladys & Rob and the moving teams were amazing to deal with. What stood out to me is the detailed estimate we completed was bang on. The time between pick up and drop off was the shortest of any other group.
