Initially I called and was told to send an email that took hours to get a response to. Email communication overall was terrible - questions were answered with obviously pasted, prewritten responses that did not address the actual questions. On the day of the move, they called at the end of their two hour window to say they were running 3.5 hours behind. Cancelled and booked Local Muscle who are less expensive, more capable and quicker to respond in every way.

It was a complex move- involving a full pack, moving into the truck, storage, and finally moving into our new home. We haven't actually moved out of storage and into our new home yet, but I wanted to get my review out there soonest! I had been in contact with a number of national movers to handle our move, and wasn't comfortable with how difficult it was to get a real person on the phone. We have a new baby, and I didn't want to go through the painstaking process of creating a list of items to be moved. I had faith we could get our stuff into a single truck and wanted a quote for a truckload, one-way. We saw a Liberty Bell truck on the highway between Boston and Maine and decided to give them a call. So glad we did. Kevin, the owner, picked up the phone on a Saturday morning at 8 AM. He sent me a quote same-day, and put me at ease that he could handle our logistics. The booking process was quick and easy. The day of the move, four members of Kevin's team arrived promptly to pack our home up. They were incredibly professional and efficient. They provided regular updates on their progress, and lots of reassurance that we were going to get through this together! And they were also incredibly careful with our stuff! They had all of the fancy moving supplies that I'd never seen before - a carpet to protect the floors, blanket to protect the walls, rubber bands, etc. And the way that they packed the truck was just plain impressive. They were so hard working, friendly, and warm, despite long hours, hard work, and a long drive ahead of them. It was clear to me that the staff members who worked with us were supported by their managers and had been trained to move in a certain way. If we ever move again (I'm really hoping we don't have to :) ), I'l work with Liberty Bell. They are a great local company that really takes pride in their work! Thanks for everything.

Kevin and crew (and I mean all of the crew) were not only professional in their approach to my move, they were determined to get the job done in a safe and effective way. And believe me, it wasn't an easy job - which is why I called them. They showed intelligence and creativity in a situation they had never encountered. This was the first coffee roaster they had been contracted to move. They moved this 800+ pound piece of brand new equipment down a flight of stairs without putting a scratch on it or compromising their safety. First things first, I tried to get a quote from this company. The process was awful. Must fill out a form, must take pictures of the item, must take pictures of the route into the home, must know exact dimensions.... Finally got a quote of $1200 to move a gun safe less than 40 feet (from garage into the living room), with 1 step into the home. Get real. I was quoted just $1800 to have the safe retailer ship it from Daytona Florida (1400 miles) AND fully install it into our home. There's 50 other moving companies within the state that are much friendlier than "Dave" and done charge an absurd price. EDIT: After I posted my original 1 star review, I got a call from the owner "Kevin". Since price was the only issue, he asked I remove or change my 1 star review. He informed me that there is a 4 hour minimum for the move and that's what creates the large cost. He also made good points that there was nothing rude or malicious about their communication, therefore I have changed my review to 3 stars.

Working with this company just didn't work out for us the first go during a planned move to the Portland area. That said, the business appears to be growing which is a good sign for anyone hiring a trustworthy moving company. While the first try didn't work out, we may circle-back to them in the future for a planned second, permanent move. (If only real estate brokers were as easy to come by!

Our experience with Liberty Bell Moving & Storage was outstanding. We used them to move us from Maine to Massachusetts. Everything about the experience went well from their quick response to our request for a quote, the estimation process and packing up the entire house safely and efficiently. Since we had a gap until the closing at the destination, we used their storage service. The day after our closing at the new house Liberty Bell was there, on a Saturday, to deliver all of our household goods, including a piano. They kept us informed on their progress as they drove down and everything arrived in perfect condition. The moving crews at both ends of the move were courteous and professional. I would use Liberty Bell Moving & Storage again in a heart-beat.

We used Liberty Bell to assist in moving my daughter's furniture recently and we could not have been happier with the results. Representatives arrived on time and began the process of moving all personal belongings and furniture in a timely manner. Liberty Bell did an awesome job moving a very expensive piece of furniture for us from Mass to Maine. They quoted a price and stuck to it and they were very helpful and polite to my 92 year old grandmother who was a little nervous about the whole process. They went down and back in one day and moved the piece (in perfect condition) into our house with no problems. Drivers are disrespectful and unprofessional to neighboring residents. While pulling onto my street this morning I was following a Liberty Bell Moving Truck, when he abruptly stopped blocking the entire entrance to my road. He waved to me to go around him, and ignored my response that I was turning right and wouldn't go around because that would mean I would drive past my street. He then put his truck in reverse and started backing up despite me and several other cars being directly behind him; where he was attempting to back up there were no drive ways, several other parked cars, and no open parking spots. Not once did he use a directional, hazard lights, or wait for surrounding traffic to decongest.

Absolutely top notch service and quality. My family had to make an emergency move from Portland to Freeport, moving from a storage facility to a fairly large home. Not only were the guys who I worked with professional and careful with our belongings, they were more efficient than any other moving service I have ever seen. All the belongings it took myself, my mother, and my uncle 12 hours to move to a storage unit took these guys only 3 hours to pack up, deliver, and put into our new home! An emergency move with a newborn is a real pain, but this was by far the easiest part of the whole process. It also helped it wasn't expensive at all, ended up saving at least a few hundred dollars as compared to renting a U-haul and doing it myself. Highly recommend to anyone moving in the Maine area.

DON'T HIRE THESE MOVERS. Last August, my neighbor hired Liberty Bell Moving & Storage to help them with their move. The movers hit my bicycle, locked off-street, with their truck when they were parking it. According to my neighbors, the movers said "oh that'll be a $25 fix, no big deal" when they saw what they'd done. My rear wheel, derailleur, and bicycle frame were all bent in the collision. Liberty Bell has been completely unresponsive, even after I won judgement in Small Claims Court, owing me ~$700. This company is irresponsible, negligent, and reckless. And as you can observe below, the owner is aggressively arrogant and condescending. Looks like anyone who has taken issue with Liberty Bell Moving and Storage is berated by this guy online.

We've used Liberty Bell twice in less than a year for moves, and both went exceptionally well. The crews were all very courteous, helpful, and friendly. Our belongings were handled well and nothing was damaged. On our most recent move to NH, the movers accidentally left the hardware to a couple of our beds at their warehouse as a different crew was delivering, but Kevin was in touch immediately to arrange overnight express shipping, so I had the parts the very next morning. We really appreciated the fast help and all turned out fine. It's good to know that whenever it's time to move again, we don't need to shop around for movers, we just need to get in touch with Kevin and Liberty Bell!

I contacted Sean on Monday 8/7 and he had an opening Tuesday 8/8 from 1-5. I needed to get a load of personal items out of my garage and store them short term. He sent me an estimate which I esigned and I requested how to make a deposit to get the job booked. I was under the impression that I was all set. Tuesday at my lunch break I called to confirm the job and to let the guys know where the key was to get in the garage. I spoke with Spencer who saw my call log with Sean but no deposit was made or recorded. I hastily charged over $600 to my cc to secure the job. The guys showed up at 1:30 and cleared out my space. Spencer later sent me the final bill which I paid with my cc through the paypal option provided. Overall satisfied but what if I had not checked in with Spencer to let him know where the key was? The guys showed up bright and early, with smiles and a ready-to-go attitude. I had a small-ish move, but with an old, family piano. They got the piano safely to the new place, up a half flight of stairs, along with all my other stuff. They kept me in the loop the whole time, checking with me to see where I wanted different pieces of furniture. Within two hours I was all moved and shaking hands with still-smiling movers. I will call Liberty Bell the next time I have a move!

We hired Liberty Bell Moving Company on July 2, 2020. They were on time, professional, and very quick. We ordered a mattress bag to be used during the move but they did not use the bag. Instead they used a moving quilt- which is fine because it still kept our mattress protected. I contacted the company for a refund for the purchase of the mattress bag and they were quick to refund me the money. Overall very happy with the service. No hassle, No drama, and it was the easiest move my family has had. :)

This was my second time using Liberty Bell for a move and again was very happy with the experience. The movers (Tom and Tom) were both very friendly and happy to meet our requests regarding some of the items being moved as well as covering up our rugs when they entered the house so as not to track in anything (we had them cleaned pre-move in). We had a few pieces of furniture that needed to be disassembled to get out of our apartment which they did carefully and efficiently and reassembled once into the new house. Everything was carefully put in the truck and wrapped/covered when needed. On top of it all, they were very respectful of COVID precautions and wore masks. Will likely go back if/when we need to move again!

I just had a very smooth and problem-free experience with Liberty Bell Moving and Storage. The movers were prompt, courteous, professional, and did a great job. Both men handled my belongings with care, and in order to maneuver furniture down three flights of a very narrow stairway, they disassembled and wrapped desk, tables and a lounge chair. Every item arrived intact and unharmed at my new apartment, where the movers reassembled everything and placed the furniture where I asked. I expected a few glitches on moving day but the whole operation was problem-free . (I immediately recommended the company to the manager of my new building). The price was also extremely reasonable, and I was able to pay online with PayPal. Nobody likes the hassle of moving to a new place, but my experience with Liberty Bell was not only stress-free, but was enjoyable due to the courteous and professional staff. I recently moved to another town over and I was highly satisfied with the moving crew. There were 2 gentlemen and they were very friendly, super polite and moved everything in a timely manner. Using Liberty Bell Moving & Storage was a company we would gladly use again. Arrangements were made for a move in ME from out of state, therefore a tight timeline needed to be followed. To everyone's surprise, the November 2018 move day was one of constant snow falling. The four men who moved us from one location in ME to another did so with smiles on their faces, consideration and care for our belongings and with utmost patience, even with snow on their faces! I got a price for the move approx 3 weeks before we had to move, they were busy but managed to squeeze us in. I had everything packed and labelled, I was a little nervous as this is the first time I've used a mover. They showed up on time, I gave them a tour of our stuff and they got right to it. They gave me a price for 4 movers, we had 3 but they worked like 4! They were efficient and careful with our stuff. At the other end I showed them the rooms that our furniture was going into and they moved it in just as efficiently and carefully. They were friendly and very hardworking. When we planned our move to Maine from North Carolina to Maine, we decided to use Liberty Bell for the unload and move in. We were very pleased that we did. Well, we wanted to use this business. While some may have had positive experiences, I found the owner to be a bit aggressive in attitude, not responsive in the time or manner I would have hoped. I couldn't detect any interest in this company actually wanting my business. To me it felt as though they could take us, or leave us and they just were not going to go out of their way to win our business. (I notice all the glowing five-star reviews posted here and how the business or its owner appears to reply. I give that a little side-eye but it's also ironic. If they were as good at engaging and thanking their potential customers as they are at the rapid praise for all those totally legit customers writing totally legit review of them here, I bet they'd actually have even more awesome reviews. And customers. I would have been one of them. There are lots of other movers in the area, professional, exceptionally responsive and who work hard for your hard earned dollar. I would recommend shopping around and considering those.

We left them the key and met them at the destination. When I returned to my apartment, I found it as I had hoped. The team helped move a few large items (huge TV, washer/dryer) from the destination for a minor disposal fee. I can definitely recommend LBMS.

This summer it was time for my older parents to move from the home in which they had lived for more than twenty years. This was very difficult for them emotionally and physically, and they had a LOT of stuff!!!! Since they lived on a lake, access to the property required smaller trucks, so Liberty provided two trucks and two teams. The movers packed and moved and unloaded in two days (withing Maine). Moving can be stressful - however not if you use Liberty Bell Moving & Storage. They send us a great group of guys to move our possessions. Friendly, professional and very conscious of caring for our belongings. Virgil, Alex, and Anthony were just great (hope I got your names right guys - apologies if I didn't). On a snowy day with ice under foot, they moved everything with no damage at all - not even a water glass was broken. The guys were right on time and ready toy go to work. They made short work of the move, were extremely friendly and helpful asking where each piece of furniture was going in the house. I had just had the hardwood floors refinished and they rolled paper to put over the floor. Overall they handled the move like the pros they are. Highly recommended !

As a life-long renter I have had to move a lot. As I have gotten older I rely less and less on "friends with a van" and more and more on "professional' movers. I've used them all and will say, without a doubt, that my experience with the folks at Liberty was nearly transcendent. First, they're local folk. As an aware consumer I am a huge advocate of buying and thinking "local." Second, from the moment they arrived (on-time and spiffy) it seemed that they were dead-set on insuring that our move was as painless and polite as it could be. Third, they treated our stuff better than we do. I would recommend these folks if I was moving a home anywhere in the universe.

I recently used Liberty Bell Moving & Storage for a move from Massachusetts to Maine. I quoted several companies and ultimately chose Liberty Bell. My rep, was extremely responsive and took care to follow up by both phone and email and my questions in advance of the move were answered same day. My move took place during Christmas week, around several large snow and ice storms in temps exceeding -10*. My moving team was A+. The team was right on time and called just before their arrival. I had a lot of large awkward heavy furniture to be moved and we were splitting a house. The team was friendly, professional and took great care with my stuff and both homes. My items were set to be delivered first thing the next morning at 8am and they were right on time despite the frigid temps and I was glad I had the same team both days. All of my items were delivered, nothing missing, damage free and they too great care with my floors and fresh paint etc. My only comment was that my quote was a bit off the mark against the actual amount due - my move was based on weight and I know that is hard to target. I wasn't surprised it was more as I knew how many large/heavy items I had and the balance due was still well within my moving budget so I wasn't terribly concerned. Overall my relocation hit many snags and the only part that went off without a hitch was the physical move performed by Liberty Bell. This was hands down the best experience with movers I have had and we will absolutely call upon them again when the other half of our home is ready to move. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family, friends and beyond.

No regrets! .. I hired Liberty Bell Moving Co. to move the contents of a one bedroom apartment approximately 40 miles. They provided a fast and accurate quote via email, and I was able to reserve movers with only a few days notice. The two movers arrived on time and went right to work. In 3.5 hours they loaded all my belongings into the truck, drove approximately 45 minutes to the new location, unloaded everything to the new 3rd floor apartment, and even assembled the bed frames. The movers worked very hard, I even witnessed them occasionally jogging up the ramp of the truck. I would certainly recommend Liberty Bell Moving Co. to anyone interested in a hassle free moving experience!

UPDATE 2/24/21 - NOT A FAKE REVIEW!!! I am the family member of someone they were scheduled to move. They showed up late, then left because my parents asked them to wear masks while entering their house! Both of my parents are in poor health and one is in recovery from cancer treatments - they CANNOT afford to get sick, but really needed the help moving. They put politics over service to a needy and paying customer. TERRIBLE people. Incredibly unprofessional and will NOT do what the customer asks of them (wearing a mask during a pandemic around customers). These folks would rather compromise the customer's health (elderly). Don't bother - there are far better movers out there who will treat the customer with respect.

Moving is always stressful, but working with the folks at Liberty Bell made the transition much smoother than it might have been otherwise. From my initial conversation with Kevin to when the movers drove away after delivery, it was seamless. All three of the men who moved me were efficient, but even more than that they were friendly, smart, and interested in making sure I was happy. They went out of their way to put the furniture and boxes in the correct rooms, thus saving me (and my back) from lugging them up and down the steps.
