Hendra recently moved my 80-yeard-old mom from her beloved family home in Saanich to North Vancouver, so she could live with me during the pandemic. Not only did they take great care of her belongings, they were also kind and attentive to her mobility challenges, and ensured she felt safe throughout the packing and the move. We really loved Chris, who provided the estimate at a very reasonable price, and Andrew and the crew, who did the heavy lifting. I would highly recommend Hendra for cost-effective, personalized moving services. You are in good hands with Hendra!

Some good, ???? some not.???? On the plus side, Andrew, Chris (excellent) and third mover (don't have name) (he was ok)who initially arrived did a good job. Polite, hardworking and careful with possessions. Unfortunately, later in day, they decided they needed extra help and one of those guys was not good, Gord. He was ready to start throwing our furniture into the elevator, was sarcastic,loud.....my husband put an end to the rough treatment of our stuff but if he hadn't been there, probably would have had damaged furniture or other items. They quoted me a rate initially that was higher than all other companies I contacted but I thought they were worth it, considering most reviews here. I also was impressed with Diane's prompt and informative email replies, from start to finish. But when they said we were going to be charged for an hour to return to their shop AFTER move was over, nothing off for lunch time....I put in a complaint. The guy with the final invoice was in a big rush to get going and was dismissive about my concerns about this additional cost so I let it go and contacted Diane at office instead. They did make an adjustment on bill that was satisfactory so that was good. But be aware, they are not "off the clock" when they finish moving your stuff, they expect to be paid to drive back to their shop, Victoria being where we are and they are based. Travel,highway time I can understand, but this kind of charge I do not agree with. We are glad move is over and we haven't found anything broken yet in the piles of boxes we have, so hopefully that will continue. Good movers are VERY hard to find. We have had good and bad ones, through the years. I would rate Hendra as satisfactory overall.

I am so glad that I chose Hendra's as my moving company. I chose them purely from the reports I had read on the internet. I found the whole team friendly, efficient and very accommodating. David, the owner, was not sitting in his office but out with the workers , and very hands on with the details of the move. I had to change my moving date several times because of delays in construction and this was handled in a positive, flexible way which took a lot of the stress off my shoulders. On moving day the men arrived at the appointed time and started work immediately. The care these men took with my belongings and their very cheerful attitude made for a fun moving day and a very memorable experience. The delivery of my belongings was equally as good. Moving into a new apartment with the rules and regulations placed upon these men can be daunting but these two men were professional and completed the job in the allotted time given by the leasing company. My thanks to you all for helping my move to go so smoothly and for the very professional way you all showed both to me and other people involved in the move. I asked the employee if we could share for a little bit and he not only was so courteous and quick to say yes but even helped us get the couch in and out to make sure everyone's time (his, the clients, and ours) was being treated respectfully. I would say that the movers knew what they were doing and were generally careful, but I don't think I will use this company again. First, it was darn expensive. An inner-city move cost 1/3 what it cost to move my stuff from Toronto to Victoria! I had never had a move take so long, and then I had had only two movers with past moves. I thought that three would speed up the move, which would help compensate for the extra hourly rate, but no. There was a lot of joke cracking and they did not seem in a hurry. Still, my main complaints are not the cost, but (a) they did not were face masks when I asked them to (this was before Bonnie Henry had made them absolutely necessary); they basically did a power play on me. they told me that they would refuse the masks and that if I insisted on them, I can rebook with a different crew. They knew of course rebooking on the day of the move was inconceivable, so they forced my hand. Second, Hendra charged my credit card more than the bill the movers presented to me at the end. When I called to ask, their explanation while plausible, still did not account for all of the difference between the original bill and the charge to the credit card. When I followed up to ask for further explanation and to reverse that difference, they stopped communicating with me. So here I am.

This is the second time that we've used Chris and his crew with EXCELLENT results. During each move, they travelled over 1,000 kilometers and had to take a ferry. We have lots of trinketry and such - never a single item broken during either move. They even moved our truck and canoe! Best of all, they are reasonably priced. We recommend Hendra without hesitation.

We hired Hendra Moving for a simple two-bedroom move from the Jubilee neighbourhood to Fairfield in summer 2019. Our first clue that we would be less than impressed with Hendra's services was their arrival nearly an hour late. We found this was a bit strange, as we were their first appointment of the day. What quickly became apparent was that the Hendra team spent as much time as possible chatting about their personal lives and packing items as slowly as they could. At one point, while still at the first location, we had to run to the new house for an Allen key set to disassemble an item, and the entire crew decided to take a break while we were gone (with still lots of packing to do). The most frustrating aspect of the moving day was upon the loading of the truck, we knew it would be about a 10 minute drive, at most, to the new house. Hendra's staff showed up about an hour-and-a-half later, with the excuse that "their GPS stopped working." Clearly they had stopped for a lunch/smoke break, and were going to try to charge us the time for it. At the new house, the crew stood around waiting for others to help carry large items when there were innumerable smaller items to be moved, or even blankets that could have been folded while waiting. After the unloading was complete, we had the unpleasant, but necessary conversation that we would not be billed for this additional time. The time that was written and signed on the paper invoice was adjusted to what we felt was an appropriate time given the extended breaks and speed of loading/unloading. A few days later, we noticed an additional amount of approximately $115 over the agreed amount when reviewing our online credit card statement. When we phoned for an explanation, the owner vaguely recalled it but couldn’t provide an answer as the "accountant had the receipts locked up". The next day, we had to chase for an answer only to hear reasons why the owner wasn’t available, didn’t have his cell phone with him or staff weren’t sure where he was. Only after following up again the following day, were we contacted with a very brief "we will be refunding the difference". There was no explanation as to what this additional charge was ever for. Hmm... Given the overall performance of the crew and the shady behaviour of the owner with his billing practices, we would absolutely not recommend Hendra Moving.

Great job moving a mess of stuff up stairs. Dave quite rightly brought six guys and two trucks and it was a good thing. Started at 8AM and done by 4PM. Excellent job done by Hendra's team of movers. I highly recommend Hendra moving.

Overall, good experience. Movers were polite, worked fast, and did a good job. Everything went smoothly. The only complaint I would have is my original quote was for 3 movers, but on both my move in and move out date, only 2 movers were dispatched. I was charged a reduced hourly rate to reflect this, which I appreciated, but the rate for 2 movers was not as competitive as other moving companies in the area. I would have preferred to know that I was only getting 2 movers instead of 3, and what their hourly rate was, ahead of time rather than the day of the move. The reduced manpower put some extra time pressure on the move, and the unexpected rate change made me feel like I was being swindled. I would use Hendra again, mainly because the movers themselves were excellent. But I will be reviewing other options as well.

Holy Crap, these guys are awesome. We called two other moving companies to get a industrial freezer into our cafe and both either flaked or showed up refused to move the freezer. They showed up half an hour after we called them and these guys did it in under five minutes and didn't even sweat!

I don't know where to start but they let us down in so many ways. They moved us out and put our goods in their storage and then moved us into our new house 4 months later. Many things received minor damage, my hand truck was lost (so they gave me someone else's hand truck), they seriously bent our Barcelona chair (which which they were going to fix but has not been seen since, that's 11 months later) and they damaged our filling cabinet so that it no longer works. They seem incapable of following up on our problems. I would not recommend them.

On the recommendation of our brilliant real estate agent, we hired Hendra for our move to a rental home. We moved on June 3rd 2020. Our movers were ANDREW, GORD and DOM. What a great bunch of guys. They were delightful, cheerful and friendly. They truly cared and took great care of our belongings. They (all three) went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Nothing was damaged, They were kind and helpful, even offering tools when i needed some, and two of them freely giving some decorating (furniture placement) ideas that turned out to be bang on. Yay Hendra. Were moving again on Aug 26th 2020, and we've hired Hendra once again. The only bad note i would give Hendra is that they scheduled 3 guys for an 8 hour day to move us out of a big house. I called a few days earlier to say that we had more boxes than anticipated but was reassured that we had the trhee of them for the whole day. I think we should have been sent 4 movers. Our poor guys were exhausted as this house was too much for three movers. Luckily, they were joined in the last hour by two of their buddies who also work for Hendra and gave them a hand so that they could finish within the 8 hour time frame. Those two guys, JAMES and IVAN, not only helped tremendously, they injected a tremendous dose of energy and humour to lift up and empower Andrew, Gord and Dom. I think they sent only three movers possibly to save us a few bucks, so again there, great on Hendra. I look forward to the next move. Much less stress now that i know what to expect from Hendra.

This move involved moving my mother-in-law from independent care to assisted living. The movers arrived on time and were very friendly and helpful. All went well on the pickup end. There was just a little communication problem as to when the items were to be at the drop off site. A quick phone call and all was remedy. Timing was essential for this move as my mother-in-law was not to be impacted by it. At the drop off site, once there everything went very well. We got everything unpacked and they removed the boxes. All in all a a job well done!!

My mother, brother and myself even helped the two movers with unloading the truck and taking stuff out of the elevator into her apartment and they charged her $500, she feels like they robbed her for such a small move.

Hendra did a local move for us and did an excellent job. Chris came in person and gave us a fair and accurate quote, and his communication with us in firming up our moving date was great. On moving day, all boxes and furniture were moved, disassembled, and reassembled with care. We experienced no damage or breakage of any kind. The 3 person team that helped us move was friendly and worked super fast. We were especially impressed with the ease they moved our large storage bed as it had to go up a set of stairs with two landings and down a hall with a 90 degree turn. We highly recommend them for any local moving needs!

Later after I posted this review, I was approached to change this review my review. You decide if you think that's the kind of company you want to do business with. Had they wanted a great review they would have followed up just after my move to see if I was happy. The guys on the truck were very argumentative too with my friend who was helping me due.

I just finished moving for the 3rd time in one year. I used Cloverdale Moving the first time from my home in Vancouver to Victoria, then 2 Burley Men the 2nd time and Hendra this last and final time. I was moving out of a rental into our new home which made dates very tricky. I had to be out of my rental by 1pm on July 31st, but didn’t take possession of our house until 6pm later that same day. After calling several companies, Hendra offered the best deal. They were willing to store all of my belongings on their secure truck in their secure yard overnight and deliver the next morning at 8am. The overnight storage charge was only $100. James and Shawn S loaded on July 31st and both men were back August 1st to unload. Of all the actual movers I’ve used to date, these two were tops. They did an excellent job of wrapping ALL the furniture in blankets and were very careful moving it around. Nothing was damaged. Hendra might charge a bit more, but they also do a great job and care about your belongings. The extra service of holding overnight was a definite bonus. If they didn’t do that, I wouldn’t have booked them and found out how great their service and team are. It all started with the expert service from Diane. She secured my decision with her prompt professionalism and accurate quote. Thank you Hendra!

I recently hired Hendra Moving and Storage to assist in the packing and move of our large family home in Saanich. We recently built a new house and also needed storage for our belongings while we were awaiting the completion of our home. I highly recommend this company and would hire them again above any other company. While this time can be stressful, I was relieved when they arrived. The movers where friendly and reassuring that everything would be done on time. They packed our belongings extremely carefully and surprisingly quick. The movers where careful in both our houses not to damage anything and where happy to make sure everything was done properly and in an organized way. Our belongings where stored for two months in their storage facility. While I was nervous about leaving our thing. The warehouse was very safe and organized. When we moved into our new home, the staff took extra care to be careful and respectful of the floors and walls. All of our belongings where returned to us neatly and in perfect condition. Terrible company. Extra charges that weren't in the discussion we had over the phone. In addition, they failed to deliver back a $200 office chair we left with them. We inquired several times, but they said they would look into it. Last communication we had was them saying they would take a picture of an office chair to confirm that it was ours, but they never followed up. After HALF A YEAR we had to phone them back and go to their location immediately to see if we could get the chair back. They did not even have the chair there and just gave us a random one back. Don't trust these guys-- very rude, they will charge you extra, and you may even lose your stuff.

When I showed up at 11:30am to pick up some stored items, 4 of the movers were drinking beers while sitting in a moving van. They were getting ready to go to their next move. I couldn't believe my eyes. Edit for response to the Owner: The items stored were not under my name, I was merely tasked with picking them up from your storage facility. I can assure you that this review is accurate down to every word.

Lost and damaged in excess of $20000 worth of my possessions. Head mover was hung over on moving day. Left half my kitchen, as well as a basement storage space full of camping gear, unpacked and unmoved. Did not honour their own insurance policy. Terrible and traumatic experience. Unless you are a multimillion dollar move they will treat you like you don’t matter. Shame. Don't believe the owners response. I have a paper trail of the claim.

Professional on-site estimator. They send three really hard working guys who were working full steam for two days to move all of our stuff. They phoned for both days wanting to show up hours ahead of schedule to get it done. Handled our special requirements (three motorcycles, etc) very well. Final bill was close to estimate. Would not hesitate to use this moving crew again.

We had previously used Hendra to move a small item of furniture from Brentwood Bay to our rented home in Gordon Head. David was extremely accommodating, even for a this small job. So, when the real move happened we knew we wanted Hendra Moving. None the less, we checked out a few other firms. Hendra were the most professional, friendly and least expensive. The move went extremely well. I cannot praise the guys enough, they were fantastic. Hopefully, it will be a while before we need Hendra again!

Hendra Moving did a great job of our move from Sooke to Ladysmith. It was challenging as social distancing was a part of our life March 25 2020. We set up a cleaning station with soap water paper towels and sanitizer as asked for by the company. The guys used it regularly and kept a distance from us at all times. We moved back in October 2015 and for the first time we decided to use a moving company. Hendra was awesome. Due to complications we could not move in as planned and they held our stuff for a few days until we could move into our new place. They wrapped everything and took really good care of our stuff. When they moved us into our new place Andrew, Jason and John were amazing. They even took great care to make sure the newly cleaned carpet was not soiled. They were up beat and I was able to joke around with them and they were just a great crew. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Overall good, the movers were friendly and very efficient, prices were reasonable. However, both the pick up and drop off of my things were HOURS late with little to no communication. The pick up time was 4 hours late, I had to phone multiple times and was told each time that they were definitely on their way. The drop off was nearly 6 hours late due to the ferries. I understand that the ferries are busy, and sometimes you miss a ferry or it's busier than expected, but they should have reserved. I booked more than a month ahead of time, so they would have had plenty of time to reserve. Again, they didn't phone me to communicate this, I had to phone them when they didn't show up on time. That being said, once they got there, everything went smoothly, all my stuff was well wrapped and undamaged.

This company demonstrates an unprofessional approach to working with the buildings in which they are moving items. They have damaged walls, and knocked emergency exit signs off the ceilings. They continued to stage items in the lobby when they have been expressly asked not to since the building is working to protect their clients from CoVid19. The gentlemen who were working in the building just ignored direction and did what they chose to do.

I recently hired Hendra for our move from Victoria to Salt Spring Island. I originally spoke to the other famous company in the area and they couldn't even give us a coherent quote. Then, I called Hendra and they gave us a clear and concise quote. On the day in question, the guys from Hendra arrived right on time. They were polite, friendly and efficient from the start. They were very nice and respectful to my wife and children. Most of all, I was very impressed with the care they took to carefully wrap and package our stuff. They also took great care not to leave a mark on any walls etc. The next day, when they came to our house on the island, they were similarly careful, friendly and efficient. And, finally, when they were done, they handed me the bill and I was flabbergasted to see that the fee was well below the original quote (and very reasonable by any standard).
