I would rather set all my stuff on fire than deal with this company ever again. They have utterly inflexible delivery dates that, in my case, did not line up with the available move in days at my school. They gave me a time slot during which I was gonna be on an airplane. I put in an official request to have my stuff delivered later in the day, since neither I nor my roommates would be around during the time slot. Apparently that request flew into the ether and it took several phone calls from my mother and I to get them to deliver my stuff at all. At one point, the lady at the call center told me there were no available schedule dates for the next MONTH and that I was going to have to drive to a warehouse to pick up my things. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. There is no communication here and no customer service.

Dealing with this company has turned into a nightmare! I arranged for my daughter's belongings to be picked up in May 2021, stored over the summer, and then delivered back to campus on 9/4/2021. The boxes were picked up without a hitch in May, however we are having an extremely difficult time trying to get the boxes returned. Dorm Movers sent confirmation that the boxes would be delivered between 8:05PM and 11:05PM on 9/4/2021. My daughter and roommates planned their day and activities around the time that Dorm Movers confirmed, but unfortunately the delivery was attempted well over an hour before the delivery window. As no one was there at that time, the delivery was not completed. In order to attempt to get the delivery rescheduled for the next possible delivery date on their calendar on 9/8/21, I had to pay a $299.99 delivery fee before the date could be confirmed. On 9/7/21 I was notified that the order could not be delivered on 9/8/21, the $299.99 delivery fee was refunded but now I will have to pay an additional $140 to have the boxes shipped because they did not deliver when they said they would. Feels like I'm being scammed and my daughter's belongings are being held for ransom. I can't believe Loyola University endorses this extremely unorganized business!

Awful. I notified the company upon signing up I was changing from one Arizona school to the other. They guaranteed me free delivery. One day before my delivery date, after already sending a delivery confirmation, they called to inform me I would have to pay $100 to ship my items. I spoke to 2 phone representatives, both of which were very rude. One continued to talk over me as I explained my situation. I do not recommend this company at all, especially for customer care.

Dorm Room Movers is the best way to store your stuff over the summer. It is easy to set up an account. After that, all you need to do is pack up your stuff and they will pick it up, store it, and return it to you in the fall. Quick and painless. Highly Recommend!

Really glad to update my review to say that Dorm Room Movers resolved our issue of son’s missing monitor to our satisfaction. Son's belongings stored with Dorm Room Movers over the summer and delivered to his school a few weeks ago minus a very nice monitor. Although it took 7 business days, we did receive an email from dorm room movers offering a decent reimbursement given the value of the item. Thank you!

Bad experience. My daughter left 5 stored boxes to be delivered after the holidays. The school closed and she had to go back to Brazil. We arranged in advance a trip to Miami to bring the boxes. I informed the dates that I would be in Miami for the Door room movers. I took a plane from Brazil to Miami and when I arrived I found that they had not dispatched the boxes. I returned to Brazil without being able to bring the boxes and they stayed over a month to give me some kind of answer. That answer was that I would have to pay more for them to send me to Brazil. I will never use their services again and do not recommend it to anyone.

I would definitely recommend Dorm Room Movers! My moving kit arrived super quickly (within three days), and it was super easy to order. I really appreciate how Dorm Room Movers sends the boxes directly to you in order to expedite the moving process. All students have to do is pack their things however they would like to, and then Dorm Room Movers will come and store or ship the boxes, which is super convenient. I also like how they will bring your items directly back to wherever you’re living the following year. An all-around great service!

I just unboxed my refrigerator (because I kept it stored from coming home from college and what a mess my refrigerator turned out to be boxed by dorm movers. It was brand new but now has dents and scratches on top and on the side. I will never use them again.

Avoid working with these guys at all costs. Their price structure actively makes it more affordable to fly stuff home in luggage then to store it for simply a summer, and the way they treat items means that you are guaranteed to have stuff come to you broken. Lost $1000 of gear due to their negligence. Also, their insurance only gives you $100 max per broken item, so don't even think of making the mistake I did and shipping anything of value through these guys.

Signing up was so easy and my storage boxes came in only a few days. They provide great quality boxes that fit almost everything you'd need to store away. Customer service was confused, they gave the wrong delivery times and estimated delivery times for my boxes (on the website, it said one thing, when I called, they told me my actual time was 3 weeks later and never updated it). Filing a claim now is difficult because of this discrepancy of when my items were a supposed to arrive (I am missing most of my dorm stuff, especially expensive items). It took 3 days for me to find a support person who actually gave me the right information to file a claim, the rest were dismissive and purposefully gave me wrong information to keep dorm movers out of the claim.

Great service. At first when I saw this, I doubted whether or not it would be beneficial as a college student far from home, but once I used it there was no doubt. The guys were super friendly and it all took about 10 minutes to get everything packed and taken from me. Would 100% recommend.

I have had nothing but a positive experience with Dorm Room Movers. I am a junior at Syracuse University and moving out over the last two years has not gone great for me. I tried two other services recommended by my campus and both of my experiences with them were not great. Having a moving out kit mailed to me was such a great purchase, especially with the promo codes online. The boxes are able to fit all of my stuff that I'm planning to store over Summer until I move into my apartment next year. Absolutely streamlined process and I hope to get the chance to use them again in the future.

Paid almost $200 to have a single bed frame and mattress moved. The mattress came back dirty and the bed frame came back broken beyond repair. Haven't received anything back from them about getting reimbursed for anything. Roommate used them as well, same thing, table completely broken in two places and the rest of the stuff returned beaten up. Horrible experience.

Dorm room movers is probably the largest scam I have ever gone through. I'm going to tell you my story just so you all know how difficult it Is to get your stuff if the delivery does not go through. To start off I paid $400 for my stuff to be held and shipped back to me, which I thought was a little ridiculous for the cost but others say it wasn't so I am probably wrong. So all summer I guess I had the delivery date mixed up so I got a plane ticket later than the day I was supposed to have my stuff delivered. Freaked out I contacted my school asking them to sign it for me, which they said yes. When I arrived to college I expected to see my stuff however when I didn't I had to contact dorm room movers who told me that no one would sign for it. I was pretty much upset at this point because instead of contacting me they just waited for me to contact them whenever I figured it out which could've been days from now. When I told them my situation they only responded with "we can ship it to you Thursday (the day after classes start) but it will be an extra $200." TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS?! I had to pay for my dorm stuff out of my own pocket which is difficult becahse I was a freshman in college with a work study job, but I managed to make it happen. To pay another $200 after I haven't been working for the summer was near to impossible. The other option the gave me was to pick it up from their warehouse , although I have no car this was obviously the better option, stop I asked for the warehouse address. I was yolks it was closed and that they didn't know the address so they had to put in a request and I can pick it up Wednesday. Lo and behold it is Wednesday and there's no address sent to me, I call again and they say out takes 48 hours for them to get back to me. I am depleted of any energy to fight with them right about now. It's obvious how dorm room movers gets the most of their money, they get whole of the people who were unfortunate like me to get their stuff and make it so difficult to pick up your stuff, instead they want you to spend more money. None of the customer service employees know where the warehouse is and none of them care about making it urgent. This is the most stressful service I have ever gone through. I would not recommend it at all.

Finally came and got all the staff moved though a bit late than expected. The moving staff are kind. By the way, they return the fee of second supply kit. Below are the original ones. Would give a zero if there is such a choice. This company sucks! First I did not receive the supply kit then have to pay twice to get another one. There is my fault here for it sends in UPS and as a student I am not at home during the day so they failed three times and sent it back. Second is that they called to change the originally set moving date saying about school regulation. I told them I had a flight the next day and they guaranteed that they will come to me first in the morning. Then they never come! It is almost 10 and I am still waiting for their guaranteed first thing in morning. I have a flight this afternoon!!! Worse is that when I call there is endless music but no one answering! Worst worst experience ever!!! Would never use this service again. There is not a thing could be called service in this company here. Hope this review helps you. My recommendation is that do not trust it and do not use it.

Horrible experience. Bait and switch. My daughter attends Colby University and used this company to store her items over the summer. Their website states they work with colleges to ensure everything works with their calendar. When my daughter contacted them and requested they have the items back to her when school begins on the sixth they said the earliest they could do it is maybe on September 7. We contacted them numerous times and it was only when we complained on Facebook that their COO Jason Forman reached out and reiterated they refuse to deliver anything until after school begins. They are clearly unorganized and understaffed. They are out of Arizona and it appears they simply use local persons they’re able to locate to pick up and deliver. Obviously very unorganized and terrible customer service. I would never recommend this company to anyone unless they were my enemy.

I totally recommend the Dorm Room Movers! The sign up process was very easy and got my moving kit extremely fast! The boxes are a great size to fit all of my stuff in, along with how sturdy they are. The fact that all you have to do is pack the boxes and they do the rest is what really intrigued me. For students having to move from place to place after the school year I found this to be the best and easiest choice. I have nothing bad to say about them!

First and foremost, never use this company's service. They put effort into avoiding your problems and they don't deliver what they have promised. I've had this company store my belongings twice, and they were both absolutely terrible experiences. First time using their service, they misplaced one of my boxes that contained over $500 USD worth of stuff. They were never able to find the misplaced box and they never reimbursed anything. They were also trying to avoid the problem the entire time. I had to use their service once again because of COVID 19. They took advantage of my absence to lie to me and to take as much money out of my parents' pockets. I was promised to receive a zoom link to communicate with their mover responsible for my belongings in my dorm room; I never received it. Customer support lied to me about their mover not being able to pickup my belongings and that I had to reschedule. Customer support told me that I should receive an email about the new pickup information; I never received it. When I was charged for the boxes in storage, I found out that my belongings had already been picked up on the original day. I was also promised to receive a recording of my pickup; you guessed it, I never received it. I provided detailed instructions online about how the mover should pack my belongings but he clearly didn't follow my instructions. I was also way overcharged. How did my 4 boxes from last time turn into 9 larger boxes? That's more than double the number of boxes. How did my $200 bill from last time turn into a bill over $1000? They were trying to avoid my problem once again. I have been put on hold for at least an hour for multiple times. I was promised to receive updates from "higher departments", but I never received anything.

For the last two years of my undergraduate career at Yale University, I have had the privilege to work with Dorm Room Movers as their campus manager. My boyfriend at college has had a horrible experience with this company. They keep pushing back his date to drop off his items and they charged him a $200 fee for changing the dates even though they're the one's who changed it. They told him they would deliver it the next day but now they're saying they can't deliver it for 2+ weeks when his storage unit with them has almost ALL of his stuff in it. I do not recommend using this company.

I recently registered for a Dorm Room Movers moving kit and it arrived in about three days. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the boxes were and how everything in my room could easily fit and be stored in them. They work very very hard with kids to keep everything organized and are incredibly patient and flexible if your kids are not ready or un-attentive to the details. Please tip them! I was very pleased with the pick up, hence the 2 stars. However, I was told that I should let them know over the summer break when I would need to have the boxes returned, which I did. However, they were unable to give me the date that my daughter has to move back to school as the truck is full! I did not delay in giving them a return date and I was never made aware that there would be an issue. Again, I was told that the boxes would be returned on the date that my daughter would need them. I was misled. This fiasco was followed up by a bunch of calls from customer service basically telling me that there’s nothing they could do for us. If I knew that there would be a problem, I never would’ve used them as there were other options. Will not use again nor would I recommend!

Initial pick up was a fiasco, but I tried to put it aside. But, delivery today was a bigger fiasco. I called 2 times to verify the delivery date, then finally received our 3 hour window around 9pm on Friday night (delivery was scheduled for Monday). When we had not heard from the driver within 30 of our 3 hour window expiring, I called the main number in Arizona. After almost 40 minutes later, and several versions, we were informed our delivery wasn't scheduled until the next day! WHAT! We traveled 3 hours Sunday, slept on the floor of my daughters new apartment to ensure we were there for delivery! Finally after pleading my case AGAIN, we received the furniture around 4:30. The driver said we weren't on their delivery list (Arizona office sets delivery schedule) for today! After all the headaches, some of the furnishings has damage from the storage and/or handling. I have never had such bad customer service, nor have I ever felt to be such a hostage. We sat around an apartment that had no bed, no couch, etc ALL DAY! Do you think they even offered any credit for our inconvenience or their mistakes?!? Be weary!!!! Do not use!
