I used the Atlas Van Lines out of Carrollton Texas and couldn’t be more pleased. We moved from North Texas to Connecticut and it was a breeze. My husband was already in Connecticut so I had to interview moving companies and arrange everything myself, completely new to me. From the beginning when they came in and explained everything to me, to the calls en route, to the follow up, it was amazing. They really handled everything so I could make the trip cross country my my eight year old twins without once worrying about my household stuff. It was actually the easiest and least stressful part of our move. If needs be, I’ll use them again without interviewing anybody else.

I was extremely nervous and on-guard, because let’s face it, we’ve all heard the horror stories. BUT... The entire moving experience with NMS/Atlas, couldn’t have gone better. They took great care with all of my belongings, covered the floor, and were polite, kind and professional. From the first quote to the unloading of the final box, it was great. Atlas uses the name to make people think it is a reputable moving company. All they do is contract smaller moving companies who think they have atlas support. We were told there were not trucks available to move our things after our things were already in atlas possession. Once you try to get a hold of Atlas to locate your stuff it’s impossible. Our things arrived 1 week later than promised only after numerous phone calls and complaints with multiple items damage and extremely dirty. We were given an estimate then when delivery men showed up the bill was $3,000 more than quoted. They require you to pay before things are brought inside. There was no heads up or discussion of higher fee prior to men arriving with things. They just expect people to pay with no questions asked. Very unhappy with Atlas moving company and their shady service. Will never be using their service again.

However, the crew that Atlas hired in Gunnison, Co to unload were not clean, not careful, not trained and broke several of our things, ran into the front door frequently bringing loads in. Best pack and unpack I've experienced since 2007 and our 1st move around the country. Have used Atlas several times during those years with okay success but this time Jackpot! On time arrival, on time assistants showed up for the driver, fast 5 hour loading and on time as promised delivery to my new address 1/2 way across America to Tennessee with almost as fast unloading and reassembling of my furniture by the same driver, different but industrious helper crew and no damage. Definitely a company to entrust your life to for a long distance move.

I wish I could give them negative rating. Bad service, Fraud Billing We moved from Omaha, NE to Orlando, FL and wanted to move our single family household items and requested quotes from various co. Atals' quote was high but we decided on Atlas because of assurance and peace of mind we expected. We opted for full pack, load, unload services. On the pick up date the moving guys didn't show up and they said they are not available as per commitment and postponed the date by 2-3 weeks. after 2-3 weeks they showed up and picked up all the items. after the picked up we waited for more than 4 weeks but our shipment never came and no one communicated. oN calling we found that items were still sitting in Omaha in a storage. I had to call and escalate and then they shipped. we got another shock when we learned that they decided to send items in 2 different shipment. The first shipment showed up but had minimal items and had lots of items that were missing which caused lots of inconvenience to us. Example we had 3 TVS but there were no remotes and, tv stand or wires for any of them. Leaf blower, grass trimmer's batteries and charger were missing. so we didn't know if those items were missing or coming in another shipment. First shipment came late July and then we had follow up continuously on second shipment that came in late September. We found lots of delicate items like vases and show pieces stuffed between pillows without packing properly and they were all broke and caused. Pillows were are dusty and stained. Bed and furniture had lots of marks, scrapes and chips. They sent a local guy to polish and hide those damages on furniture which not very good. They were not able to find stand and remotes fro TV and wanted me to buy from Amazon which was unacceptable. My XBox was missing. After first shipment they said I can file a delay claim which was mostly to buy dying necessity item costing about 300 $ worth that they reimbursed and promised that I can still file a final claim once I get my second shipment and I know whats missing dn whats damaged. I agreed and waited for second shipment. when second shipment showed up, i finalized the list of what was missing, what was broke etc. Our brand new treadmill 2000 $ had many missing parts that they lost somewhere and didn't know where are the screws, handles etc. When I filed final claim they said someone will come for inspection but no one came or many days when I followed up they said they will send someone soon. Now we had to move locally about 10 miles to our new home in Orlando that we bought as our lease was over. When Atlas claim team came to know that we moved locally to new home they immediately rejected the claim saying that we moved the claim will not be honored. I argued that I filed claim long back and they delayed the inspection, I can't hold my move just for them delaying the things to settle claim but the staff was very rude. since beginning they were trying to deny the final claim. We lost lots of household items, many things were damaged and also not repaired or restored to good condition. I paid them the whole invoice when second shipment had showed up and didn't hold any single penny. After rejecting my claims they started sending me additional demand 1633.42 which is very unethical and frustrating. We already suffered lots of loss due to their bad handling now they sent additional invoice of 1633.42 $ after I made a full and final payment of about 10000 $. They also sent this amount 1633.42 to collection agency that is harassing us by calling everyday. We would never ever recommend Atlas Van Lines to anyone. They delayed the shipment for about 3 month, sent items in parts, lost items, damaged items, rejected the claim rudely and now sending additional demand through collection agency after I settled full and final invoice.

This was my first time ever using a packers and a moving company. Working with the Atlas company for packing and transporting my belongings was an awesome experience. The packers were nice and friendly and they packed everything even things I thought I would have to leave behind. The movers arrived and they were able to get everything on the truck even the few things I forgot to give the packers. The movers were extremely nice took care with my things. The driver was awesome with communication and estimates on how long it would take and what time of day they would be able to deliver the items. I received my things, unboxed everything, nothing was broke, bent or damaged. Would definitely recommend Atlas and will definitely use them for my next move.

Great communication - our cargo was delivered ahead of time with proactive communication along the way. Precious Packaging: our artwork was packaged with lots of TLC whether it was a framed poster or an oil painting. Lots of care! Friendly affable staff: really this is about relationships - and personality does matter. Our rep was funny hardworking and kind. Last and perhaps most important: the cost was reasonable and well worth every penny.

My family recently completed a move in late 2014 that was handled by Atlas Van Lines. During the move, multiple items went missing, and Atlas was unable to locate them. Furthermore, the procedure for filing a formal complaint is extremely one-sided, ultimately resulting in a denial of claim by the company. If you have other options available, I would strongly suggest that you use anyone other than Atlas to complete your move.

She did a fantastic job. she was punctual, on-time, clear & understandable. and maybe most importantly, she was also listening to us with all caution, from the beginning till the end. I would recommend working with Janet Rose to all my peers and friends, if they were ever to move. The moving crew arrived on-time. Actually to consider the parking problem in White Plains, they arrived early and waited for us to get ready. they did an extraordinarily fantastic job. I have moved 3 times in last 10 years and benefited from a relocation package in my previous hiring. But Kilpatrick crew was no way close to any of them. they were real professionals. Junior and his team foresaw the things, we would never think of. they got great care of furniture, belongings and also the apartment complex where we were leaving. Our superb was even mesmerized of their work, how ordered they are, how they covered the common areas, so that they did no damage at all. There is not enough words to express our appreciation of the moving services provided by Junior and his team. They carried most of stuff to the apartment and rest to a storage. unfortunately, the apartment complex, where we rented, had a dramatic mistake and left the apartment with very poor cleaning to us. This caused the moving team to start at least half and hour late, due the rush cleaning. but Junior and his team kindly and patiently waited for us. if they were not there, we would go nuts with the apartment manager. the moving team was the ones who even help out with our stressful situation. with an outstanding professionalism, they moved all in, unpacked all and again no damage to our furniture nor the building. It was simply the best, we could ask for. and they finished even before the time, although they had to start late. They did a fantastic job. Then they put the rest of stuff into storage with great care. Thinking about all the move, Janet and Junior and their team, did fantastic job on their ends. All were super professional, punctual, and maybe most important, not only kind to us, but also kind to each other. I heard many times, Junior calling his people "please put this box out, please take good care of the fragile, please help each other". I think they have the at most respect to themselves, each other and thereby their customer. If I would afford, I would always move with Kilpatrick for sure, no doubt. I will be recommending this company all my peers and friends a lot! thank you very much. !

11 Days late and they can't send me an invoice/proof of payment for 30 days I have no idea what took a truck almost 3 weeks to go 1000 miles but let me tell you it's was beyond frustrating. The company uses sub contractors that sub contract as well so it takes a miracle to get a hold of anyone that can actually help you. We had the wrong crew show up at the move and load/inventory half of our stuff then once the real crew showed up (2 guys) they had to unload, re-inventory then reload the new truck. So, a simple 3 hour move took 9 hours. Which made it so we couldn't leave that day. Then the truck went MIA for a few days, which didn't concern me, but on the day they were supposed to unload at our new place we get a call from a company that was subcontracted to move our belongings saying the truck was broken down....90 miles away from where they picked up! When we called Atlas they had no idea what was going on and no one could give us a straight answer. It took another 10 or so days with 3 rescheduled deliveries to finally get our stuff. Then again they only sent 2 guys to unload the truck ,who were EXTREMELY nice and helpful (The only pleasant part of the experience). unloading took about 7 hours because my new place was on the 6th floor. After all they we had to Pay before they delivered but can't get me proof of payment so I can get reimbursed from my company. I don't know how a company that acts like this is still in business.

I used this company to move me and my family cross country 3 years ago, and I still have nightmares about it. I came across its name recently and decided to write a review. The most unbelievable experience was with the customer service woman who talks to you like she may have worked at a maximum security prison before. She was rude, and after initially putting down a $100 deposit, I didn't respond to her calls fast enough so she charged $500 on my credit card that I had given her!!! When I called to complain she told she did it because I wasn't calling her back! I was stunned. I should have turned around and run the other way but it was too late by then. My first impression of the company was dealing with an estimator who was a nice enough guy but I never spoke with him again. Just had the pleasure of dealing with Broom Hilda for the duration of the nightmare. I agree with at previous post that they DRASTICALLY underestimate how much it will be for the move. Then after you realize you aren't going to have enough space, your stuck ordering another container. We had to have our stuff stored for a few weeks, which was THE deciding factor for using Atlas. Having scheduled the delivery date 6 weeks in advance, I figured our stuff would be there on time, no problem. Yeah right. When my family and I (which included a dog in a crate, and a 1 y.o. baby) checked with them from our hotel room 2 days before we were to move in, the sweet Gorgon queen informed me that they couldn't find a trucking company to deliver our stuff on time because the one that was supposed to do it had just received a call from a military family that needed to move and they gave precedence to military folks. So we got screwed having to stay an extra day in a cramped hotel then driving to our new, empty house, stopping on the way at Wal Mart to buy sleeping bags and ice chests so we could camp out till our stuff got to us. Eventually, the truck arrived, 3 or 4 days late and the owner/driver was completely unapologetic. The crew of movers that he must've assembled on the way from The Hills Have Eyes movie set and various work-release programs, had me huddling with my family for safety while I waved a flaming torch at them if they got to close. One of them was even nice enough to have left a condom on the floor of my little boy's room. What a nice touch. It was the phlegm icing on the puke cake that was my Atlas World Group Inc moving experience.

I paid the portion not covered by my employer but they still invoiced my employer who also sent me a bill! At that point, no one would call me back. Communication with the office was not easy.

The staff members who came to our houses made very accurate estimates on the weight of our possessions so I was never surprised by the cost. What a debacle! I just did a move with them and they dropped the ball! I move a lot so I know the drill. Atlas claims to be so effecient and all this great equipment and agents. Well they could not get my shipment to the house. They don't work on weekends so when the driver shows up on a Saturday, can't get closer than a block from your home, you are on your own. So, I have to drive all over town to find a truck to rent. 6 hours later my belongings are in my new home. I's been a month now and not a word from Atlas. They did take the time to charge my credit card for over $1000.00 more than our contract. I'm still fighting! Don't make my mistake!

I'm happy to say that my realtor recommended Atlas and my entire experience was awesome. I honestly can't believe that our process was so smooth when so many moving experiences are nightmares. The date we requested to move happened as planning, the truck driver was awesome as well as the move out and move in crews. Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. 23 days past the contracted dates on the delivery of my shipment and still waiting. I have been told numerous different people to speak with only to talk to them and be told either a) something to appease me and get me off the phone or b) someone else I need to call to resolve the issue. I have been told several times that my items will be delivered on such and such date only to miss that deadline without even an apology or explanation. We used Golden Van Lines (in Colorado) which is an Atlas affiliate for our move from Los Angeles to Austin. We decided to go through Golden Van because a cousin of my husband's had used them multiple times with great reviews. Even though we were not from Colorado, they were still able to coordinate everything with our storage unit in LA and deliver to our house in Austin. Because the affiliates can all work together, they were able to arrange for a surveyor from LA to take the estimate. Once the estimate was delivered they were able to pick up our belongings within the next week. It took about a 1 1/2 weeks for our stuff to get to Austin. Everything arrived in good condition. Our van driver was very courteous and explained the claims process to us, if we should need to make a claim. The pricing is not cheap, but we feel the quality of the work and quality of the delivery makes Atlas Van Lines worth the investment if you are moving cross-country.

Our move was delayed due to drivers daughter being in a local prom. Our property was loaded into the trucks but a 3 day delivery time took full week. That was not an issue but we are still missing items one month after delivery. The driver called me the week of June 10th 2019 to tell me he found missing bicycle pedals and a box that belonged to us. He stated that he would have the items shipped via UPS. A week and a half later, after his call, we have not received our items. I have called and left 2 messages on the drivers cell phone but have not received a call back, trying to see why we haven't received our items after he said he was going to have everything shipped. My next step is to call Weleski Transfer in Tarentum, PA for assistance. Weleski was the contracted company. At least call me back and tell me where my property is and why I have not received it yet. Also had a number of items broken prior to the move and reroute from PA to Florida.j Update: June 26, 2019... Received a box from Atlas Van Lines today. Items still missing. A small bedroom bench that was missing was delivered today along with some miscellaneous basement items. Still missing several pairs of golf shoes belonging to my wife, several casseroles, and some tool items.

After speaking with an consultant of Atlas Van Moving company, we decided it was a great deal. Once movers arrived one guy came in and decided he wanted to sit in our kitchen and eat his food before he starting his work and didn't ask or anything. He was rude and left his trash in our home and used our bathroom and left urine all over the toilet seat. Which was rude! Then once arriving to our next home to delivery our goods, they were suppose to come the day before and survey the area to make sure they could get through and they didn't come. So upon arrival they couldn't get through, blocked the traffic while ppl are trying to get to work and school buses trying to get kids to school which made us look terrible to our new neighbors. Then we had to get our own uhaul or he would've charged us 380 more dollars on top of the 3400 we had to pay him in cash because he said he didn't want the government to know how much he got paid and he like cash more! (Yeah sounds like a crook) Oh now the fun part... Keep in mind we have been in our home for 3 days and haven't had any issues so once getting our belongings and unpacking we found a chewed dog bone or busicuit attached to the side of a box and the next morning while laying on our rugs fleas started jumping on us and I have the bites to prove it! Our son's play and area rug were covered in fleas and it was sad hearing our 2 year old son say "mommy it hurts so bad". We spoke to the housing office to make sure they didn't come from the apt, they let us know a police officer lived here before us and hated animals, there was also new carpet put in and before the movers came we had no problems at all! We call Atlas and the decide to side with the driver as if we have a reason to lie about fleas in RUGS we just unpacked from the boxes of there trucks. My next step is contacting the better business Bureau and a lawyer! I would not go with this company at all!

Absolutely the worst company I have EVER dealt with! BEWARE, DONT USE THEIR SERVICES!! We were told that our shipment would arrive in 10 days... 28 days later it arrived! I have been sleeping on an air mattress for a month and had to buy all new kitchen utensils, tv, and couch to get me by! I had my work clothes in a suitcase in the moving truck and since they had such a delay I had to buy all new Suit pants for work. When i expressed my concern to Yolanda from the Delay Claims department she told me "that it was my fault i had my clothes on the truck and I should of brought it with me." She was the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken with! Customer service still says a lot about a company and this is just a disgrace.. she should be fired for the way she spoke to me! The truck came to pick up our stuff Jan 17th and 23 days later when i called to inquire where our stuff is... found out they were in Toronto. In 23 days they travelled 1.5 hours with our stuff. So we tried to cancel and get a new company to move our stuff, we didn't want to pay this horrible company a dime so if it meant spending twice and much money and even getting our stuff at a later date we didn't care it was worth it to us for the principle purpose! I mean that is absolutely ridiculous!! They told us NO. They were not aloud to remove our stuff from the truck. Turns out after speaking with driver yesterday who delivered our stuff on Feb 13th 28 days later. That they had to wait and scramble to fill the truck before they could continue on there way. After all this they apologized and offered to give my family and I $200. The $200 didn't even pay for air mattress. They should honestly be ashamed of themselves!

Got an estimate and confirmed I wanted to proceed. They acknowledged and stated they would put it through.Two days went by no contact from them so I contacted them and was told they are working on it. Five more days passed and I still had no contact so I contacted them again and they said they were having trouble scheduling it and would let me know when they sorted it out. Two days later and less than two weeks before my move date they inform me they cant move me.....why it took them ten days to tell me that I have no clue. Poor communication all around would not recommend them to anyone which is unfortunate because the whole reason I selected them over the other cheaper estimates I was quoted was because a friend recommended them for their services.....I realize every business has things come up and life happens but they made zero efforts to even apologize and left me scrambling and paying thousands more to expedite my move with another company.

If I could give Atlas zero stars I would. Our move was beyond horrific. It started with the truck driver yelling at me, while he was on the phone with our move coordinator from Atlas. Then, things slowly progressed for the worse, they scratched and dented our refrigerator. The truck driver tried to argue with me that he had not done it, until I showed him pictures of them unloading the refrigerator. Not to mention that they placed the setscrews for the refrigerator handles inside a drawer that has draining holes. Amongst the other things that were scratched were our night stands (2) our shelving units (2) and our dining room table. Now I am not talking about old furniture, all our furniture was purchased less than 6 months ago. In addition to the scratched furniture, they bent our bed frame in 3 pieces; it was as though they had folded the metal frame to save space and lost the hardware. They delivered close to a month late, a month for which we did not have a bed to sleep on, and once it got home, we still did not have a bed to sleep on. They broke not 1 but 2 chests of drawers and lost half of our couch. It is beyond me to imagine how someone can lose half of a sectional couch. There’s thousands of dollars worth of damage to our property. You would think they would be careful with other people’s personal belongings, but that was not the case. I am so disgusted with this company. This was our last military move and Amen for that. It’s disheartening to think that the military trusts Atlas with anyone’s stuff. Atlas treated our stuff very poorly. We had worked so hard and used all of our wedding money to have the little furniture we do, and to think that most of it was damaged. Finally, not only did they damage our stuff, but also they damage the home we are renting. They broke the storm door and one of the porch lights. The disappointing thing is that they did not even bother telling us, I saw the driver through the window messing with the porch light he had just broken. In addition to all of the havoc they caused, the military paid for full unpacking. They left 50% of the boxes untouched; even boxes that got opened were not fully unpacked. The showed up to my home completely unprepared, they had to find the boxes with my personal tools to put some of the furniture together. Finally, they close the deal by leaving trash form the lunch that I had purchased for them strewn across our front porch. I would never recommend this company to anyone moving.

The packers were very gentle and packed our stuff with great care. Not a single item was damaged while moving. The only thing is they took almost 15 days from the day they packed and took our stuff to deliver to new place. But again, we have moved from a very small town in Michigan to Memphis, Tennessee which probably is the cause for the delay. The customer care is very good and they did respond promptly to our questions. They also came and picked up the debris after we unpacked our stuff. Overall, their service is very good.

when we moved to our new house in 2015 the movers places the couches on the brand new floors and scratched them up pretty bad. Atlas then offered $56 to fix the damage. The floors were over $6000 to install and would have had to redo atleast 1/3 of the floors if not more so easy math shows $56 would not cover the damage

I hired Atlas for a long distance move from NYC to MIA. Super professional and friendly staff. Danny came to my apt for a in person estimate. The price was fair compared to similar competitors. The communication throughout the delivery window was also very clear and frequent with Danny, Christina (at the office) and the driver, which gave me peace of mind. The delivery was done on the promised day/time. As off the furniture, I had only one minor issue with a peace of furniture (a broken wheel of a chest, nothing major) which was fixed by the delivery crew right away, so no trouble. I recommend this company for long distance moving.

This is simple. Atlas van lines delivered on promisees they made. The final bill came under the estimate. They packed at the tie promised time and delivered and unpacked as promised too. The job was done professionally and safely. Nothing was damaged in any way. I would use them again if needed.

Great coordination. My relocation was booked by my company. I had to put a hold on the move because of the recent stay-at-home situation affecting travel. The hold and rescheduling happened very smoothly and they accommodated me at every step. Packing crew were fast and professional, not to mention very friendly. I received the best quote out of three movers. The customer service person was patient and most helpful throughout the complete process, though I was making multiple changes. The driver, Joey and Jeremy, his assistant were on-time, clean, neat, efficient and hard working. The truck had a flat while delivering. They kept us in the loop, and were on-time. This was a hurried, retirement move with a closing on my home on the next day, and a move 900 miles away and move in four days later. We were so impressed that we Joey and Jeremy to a celebration dinner. I was due a refund and was told it would take a few weeks for accounting reconciliation. Our cross-country move was complicated at best, but both Daniel's Moving and their cross-country partner, Atlas Van Lines made it painless! We were handled with calm professionalism from day one. Overall: This move was, largely, a huge success. Specifically: The moving professionals (Felix, Scott, Stevey, Rich… there’s another one I can’t remember his name); These guys were absolutely fantastic. Felix (and The Walker brothers) were nothing less than amazing. Furthermore, Scott, took my 5 year old Son under his wing and kept him entertained. The closing was delayed, and Felix’s Team was immediate to get our household items in a timely manner. Declan and I really enjoyed Felix’s team of moving professionals. Lastly, I have moved several times… Felix’s Crew is, by far, the very best. The 3rd party that crated the TVs and disassembled the beds and washer/dryer (origin) were great as well Constructively: The 3rd party that uncrated the TVs and assembled the beds and washer/dryer (destination) missed the mark. Grant was in charge and Charlie (and another gentlemen – that I cannot remember his name) did a good job with everything with the exception of the dryer hookup. (Please see picture, attached). I called Grant about one hour after they left and let him know the faulty dryer hookup. Grant stated that he did not hookup (Charlie and the other guy did it). I communicated this with Rachel as well. In the meantime, the dryer has failed due to failure to vent the heat. I am having a service company come out to fix it. I request that this 3rd party (Grant’s company) pay me for this repair. I will communicate this bill as I receive it. Please contact me with any questions and/or concerns.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! We had a move from Dayton, Ohio to New York City. They moved a 4 bedroom home to a large storage unit in New Jersey. They disassemble all furniture and put the part and pieces (legs, screws, etc) in a " parts box", They LOST the parts box so the majority of our furniture is useless. The worst part is our storage unit is a completely DISORGANIZED MESS!! Boxes aren't labeled. Parts and pieces of furniture are strewn from one end to the next. Boxes are crushed under random heavy equipment. They stick important items in any box. We found the bolts to our baby grand piano in a silverware box. Our large dining room table has no legs and we will have to go through every box in order to find them, if they we even delivered. DO YOUR RESEARCH!! STAY AWAY!

Atlas Van Lines driver intentionally ran me into oncoming traffic! I didn't get out of his way and he intentionally ran me into oncoming traffic. I can't believe I survived! I immediately called the police made a report I was so shook up I couldn't drive. I called the 1-800 number everyday since, it's been 10 days. I've had very little response about the incident. I pulled up next to the driver at a stoplight and took his picture and they have a clear picture of him waving and laughing at me! If I don't get a response phone call back satisfying me that the driver was spoken with and reprimand it my next phone call is my attorney.

This review is for both Gentle Giants (Los Angeles-Hawthorne CA) and also Atlas moving company as they are the ones who ultimately moved our household items (Gentle Giants packed our house up, then it was transferred to an Atlas truck, and Atlas unpacked our stuff into our new home. This was anticipated and expected. Well many people have far worse experiences, but ours was bad enough. The Gentle Giants packing crew did an ok job….. but in a couple cases where I specifically said "this is very fragile and expensive and you please need to pad and pack it very well" to the vperson who was about to pack that very item ... I discovered later that they only put cardboard around it, with ZERO padding. Yes some of these items were damaged. Also a few things were packed in a way that they were guaranteed to be broken (and they were) On the unpacking day, the Atlas driver (and person in charge.. this is normal) hired a local Atlas crew of about 4 young men. This is normal. First thing - the driver/crew chief/person in charge taped cardboard on the hardwood stairs to protect them from the dollies used for moving boxes, and that was good... however his local crew was removing tons of boxes from the truck very fast as he was doing this……and soon after I heard the driver/crew chief/person yelling loudly outside by the truck "You guys are way ahead of me and I have no idea what has come off the truck so the inventory is useless!" So basically the paper inventory of all the boxes #'s with nice check marks as to the box arrived safely, was useless. We had (and have) zero assurance that nothing went missing. So the Atlas driver/crew chief/person-in-charge didn't manage this important part of the job at all. So there were about 13 items (some valuable) that were damaged. I pointed out what we knew was damaged at the end of the move, and the driver/crew chief/person took photos with his cell phone and told us "these photos have now been submitted to Atlas" but during the long and frustrating "repair or replacement value" coverage these photos never surfaced. ( I didn't expect them to, realistically) The frustrating "repair or replacement value" claim with Atlas was ridiculous. I submitted the form, with photos, and Atlas kept coming back (many, many times) with what they called "fair and reasonable offers" that were a tiny fraction of replacement cost. All this was clearly documented and photographed by both me, and also they sent a local Atlas contracted claims person to look at and photograph the damaged items. Atlas claims literally just kept offering tiny fractions (or nothing) for damaged items. I'm a polite, professional reasonable person, and their conduct was outrageous. On one phone call I simply and politely said to the claims person "all i expect Atlas to do is to honor the terms of our contract" and the claims person seemed quietly shocked... as if I was one of the first people ever to state this so clearly. I strongly suspect that Atlas claims is simply playing the game of hoping the claimant will simply give up, and settle for far less than they are entitled to, by the terms of the "repair or replace" contract. (yes I read it carefully) After many months of this game Atlas was playing they finally just said ok we will pay you for the full amount of your claim... and they mailed a check. So - is moving a unpleasant experience? Yes. Could it have been far worse? yes. Could have the Atlas driver/crew chief/person-in-charge of unloading the truck into our house ..... actually managed the local crew, delegated the cardboard taping to protect the wood stairs in our house, and actually DONE the box and item inventory as he was supposed to do? YES. Could the Atlas claims process have been a lot more reasonable, and not played stupid games with me for months? YES.

Prior to hiring Atlas Van I got an estimate from a local mover which was suppose to be “cheap”. I was given a verbal estimate and told that I would have to tip the workers $100 each on delivery. They we not insured and did not have their own moving van. I then requested a written estimate 3 times and was given a two line note saying a different total. I was not happy. I then called Ernie’s (a part of the Atlas group). They were very professional. I was given a written estimate and shown the benefits of using their services. They were insured and the cost around the same as the so called cheap movers. Every item was tagged and carefully moved. The workers were friendly and they worked their butts off. Every item was delivered in perfect condition. I highly recommend.

Long story short, I do not recommend using Atlas. I used them for my cross country move and everything in process went smooth until the end. I had opted for the highest level of insurance as I was told there would be no deductible to replace any items that were damaged. Atlas had moved everything into a storage unit and I later found once in storage, Atlas wont cover anything. I went to the unit (my husband had been there for delivery) and immediately spotted multiple damaged items and immediately called my coordinator in Orange County. I was put in contact with a claims representative in Phoenix. He advised me that my husband signed something at the time of drop off (my husband said the driver told him he has to sign or he wouldn't leave) and also anything in storage isn't covered. I told him it seemed unfair to be sold the highest level of insurance especially since they knew it was going into storage and I was told my items would be protected. I was told to file a claim anyway even though it wouldn't be covered. Super disappointing from a reputable company. My damages would have maybe been $300. I paid over $700 for the insurance.

Beware of Atlas in Evansville. Moved to Evansville with Allied from San Antonio and had no damage. Moved from Evansville, back to Texas and had thousand of dollars of damage. Put in claim on damage of over $2100.00 they said they would pay $164.00. I showed them where their own driver wrote down other broken things. They up it to $294.00. Once the movers moved my thing into my new, one of their employee that helped move show up at my door an hour later and ask why I did not give him a tip. Only to find out later that I was suppose to tip their employees. What a mess!

Overall the moving experience was very good. I did have some issues with unpacking. I am not finished putting my things away, but as of now two things are missing, one item is broken, and several pieces of furniture are scratched. I have still not been refunded for two boxes that they forgot to unpack. They took apart one of my recliners and did not put it together properly. I had to pay some one to do that. Three people packed me up on moving day, but only two people unpacked me when the furniture was delivered. It was a long, tiring day. Three people were needed for the job. Turnaround from moving to delivery was fast. Cost of service was very fair. As soon as I am done with everything, I will be filing a claim.

I was so satisfied with the relocation with Atlas Van service. It was from Cleveland area to Raleigh-Durham NC. Everything was perfect: so fast boxing stuffs, loading (started at 8 and ended at 2:30 pm), and unloading (8:30-11:30). Nothing lost and damaged. Driver and crews were all very nice and they carefully handled my moving stuffs. I will choose them again for the next moving. Actually, this was the second experience with Atlas as I had another relocation about 7 years ago and that was also good experience.

We were looking for a great moving company to handle our 5th and final move. We contacted both large and small moving companies , United and Atlas , the 2 big companies. I was fairly certain we would go with United due to their size and past experience we have had . At the end of the day , Atlas / Berman Moving from Cleveland Ohio was our choice due in part to price but actually the majority was due to their interest and help in getting moved from Northern Pennsylvania to Fort Mill area South Carolina. We changed our pickup date twice and delivery twice without a miss in coordination between Berman and ourselves. The gentleman that packed us and loaded us was the same person that drove the truck along with his 2 other packers , they were fast ,professional and respectful of our needs and requirements. Once we were loaded on Tuesday ,he advised he would deliver on Friday of same week,perfect for our planning. Friday came the truck arrived however his unloaders did not show to help. I thought we would be delayed but our driver found 2 experienced gentlemen that equaled the interest and professionalism exhibited by the loaders. They unloaded , placed the items as requested without any significant problems. Did we have any breakage, yes we did but just as professional as the move Atlas forwarded the claim sheets to us quickly to begin the process of replacing the minimal amount damaged. In all the moves we have made , Berman / Atlas far and away has been the best we have ever had, Thanks to Karl in Sales , Dave our Driver , Curtis and Jordan and the rest of the Berman / Atlas Team ,our heartfelt Thanks .

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Mover told us to buy packers and driver liuch so they will take care of us. Another $60 extorted because they did very little for us. The used OUR tape, markers and boxes because driver didn't have enough supplies. The driver helped himself to contents of our refrigerator and scribbled out an illegible inventory. They used multiple layers of paper to wrap paperback books, cloth and other non-breakables but a single layer on our crystal than stacked boxes on top of it and broke it. They opened and unpacked original sealed boxes to use for their packing then shipped the removed contents unpacked and damaged it. The refused to ship in our original boxes but shipped the original boxes empty to increase weight. Once at the new location they initially refused to unpack even though that is what I had paid for. They relented and did minimal unpacking and walked off the job when they were a little over half done. The boxes of ours they used had been used in prior moves and Atlas failed to clearly mark the contents of these boxes they packed, refused to unpack them and left them where they thought they might go based on our prior labeling. This required us to move multiple carrier packed boxes from room to room during unpacking. They dropped my good clothes on the floor, soiled them then packed them in a dishpack box. It took sorting through multiple boxes for over 2 hours to locate clothes to wear at new location. They damaged my refrigerator and initially refused to make it even usable at the new location. After propping it up with boards they claimed it was fine and denied the damage claim. They either lost or stole a month supply of controlled prescription drugs then initially refused to pay the cost of an ER room visit to get some replacement. The list of damaged items is two full pages long. They ignored my request for an expedited resolution for damages to my refrigerator and failed to respond to any requests for status on my claim. It has been 4 weeks and none of my claims have been resolved to date. This was the 5th move in 3 years and none of the prior moves involved so much damage or lack of regard for us or our possessions. Absolutley the WORST OF THE WORST !!!!

My family has relocated 4 times in the past 17 years and they have always been interstate moves. We have used a number of different relocation/moving companies and thankfully we have always had great experiences. The crew we worked with for this most recent move with Atlas was by far the best crew we have ever worked with. The driver and the packing crew were the hardest working crew I have ever worked with. They took such great care of our household goods and helped us with a few other things involved with the move. The only complaint I had was with the initial survey of our home. The individual was trying to be competitive with the quote and underestimated the weight and quantity of our household goods and so we needed part of a second truck that they had to bring in on loading day. The driver was phenomenal with his communication with us and the other people involved with Atlas and we got everything taken care of. We would use Atlas and the driver and his crew again in the future.

This is by far the WORST experience I've ever had with ANY company, nevertheless, a moving company. Atlas Van Lines was subcontracted by our Relocation company, Atlantic Relocation, to move our things from Florida to Vancouver, Canada. It has now been 36 days since we have arranged this move, of course they have everything we own, and we have yet to receive a delivery date from Atlas. They have given us the complete run-around, even telling us to call our driver at home to get a delivery date! When we finally resorted to the latter, the delivery date given was false anyway and we were left taking off work and making elevator arrangements for nothing. They still have our furniture, obviously completely in breach of every delivery time frame they gave us to win the bid, and have zero motivation to give us a true date of delivery. When I called this morning, Jack told me that my husband and I had to meet the driver at customs (30-miinutes away at least!) but couldn't give me a time! This was the first I had heard that my husband and I would have to take off work to meet the driver at the border TODAY. I asked Jack what he would do if someone told him he needed to be prepared to leave work that day at a moment's notice- he didn't have an answer, and still wouldn't give me a time. I have no idea how companies can operate this way. They take your things and completely hold your life hostage. Moving to a new area, a new country even! is stressful. Don't make Atlas Vans make it the biggest nightmare of your life...

The beginning process was great. I appreciated no high pressure and I got an estimate close to what it would cost for the move. The guys moving us in were very nice and efficient. Two issues came up . Before they would unload, there was an additional $1200 fee for transferring our stuff into another truck to get into our area. I would have appreciated a heads up for the cost at the beginning which may have made me go with another company, but I had no choice 4 days before unloading. We had a few issues with damage and they are not taking care of these issues on a timely basis. I was told once I submitted my list of issues, expect to hear in 2 weeks. I have not heard back on a few of the issues and it’s 2 1/2 weeks.

We had to move our moving date a few times and they were very accommodating. The last time we moved the date we were told that do to the busy season we might not get our things for another week. Atlas was supposed to deliver our furniture Dec 16 or 17 and we requested those dates on Nov 4 with plenty of time to schedule the delivery. However, the furniture never arrived until Dec 23, two days before Christmas. My holiday company arrived two days before the furniture, and Atlas ruined my Christmas. They had cancelled delivery routes and drivers and left our furniture out in their truck in frigid temperatures for two weeks before they finally delivered it!! So much for their promise of a climate controlled environment!! After writing their vice president concerning their lack of customer concern, I got a letter back from some other low level manager who reprimanded me for not taking their unpacking service they offered me!! How out of touch they are. Two days before Christmas the last thing I would want is bunch of people opening boxes and putting my things- where?? I didn't even know where! I didn't want money or more services, I wanted them to be more sensitive to their customers plans and lives and review their rigid delivery scheduling policies. I will never trust them to understand their customers or care about our needs. Beware.

The actual packing and moving was uneventful; there were some communication issues, but nothing major. The problem I have with Atlas, is that their movers stole my belongings. Please use my horrible experience to your advantage, and look elsewhere if you want all items moved to arrive at their final destination.

As is often the case, we had a pleasant experience, until something went wrong. Our car was damaged during transport. We understand that the jarring a car receives on a cross country trek is a consideration. However, the inside door was damaged, and the response (when we finally got one) was that it is our dime to fix it. Then our antique buffet table was broken. The driver was incredibly apologetic and submitted paperwork immediately. However, Atlas was slow at responding. Twice they ignored our emails. Finally we threatened legal action, then we heard our claim was denied. They said our table was damaged before although they did acknowledge that they never saw our table. We sent pictures and our claim was still denied. It is 6 weeks since we moved and sadly we will involve our attorney. Atlas would have been a great company if nothing had gone wrong. Movers beware, One can reasonable expect that with any move, something will be broken or will go awry. The proof of a good company is when they responds in a timely and reasonable fashion. Sorry Atlas gets only one star.

However, it would be nice to say that all went well, but the back office, Customer Care Associate, and claims process became challenging. A claim was necessary do to the unloading crew failed to put back on the legs of sofa and cabinet before moving them across the new hardwood floors leaving large areas of cut marks.

If you want to deal with the mafia call Atlas (aka Atlantic Relocation Systems). This company is as crooked as it gets! First, “G-man Johnny” came out to our house to give us a free appraisal. It turns out that this guy gets paid commission so it’s in his best interest to underestimate the weight of your belongings to get your business. He quoted us $4,000 to move from Phoenix to Denver, it sounded like a good price so we signed the contract. The movers showed up a few days later and loaded all of our boxes onto their truck (so far so good). The movers were polite however only one was a full time employee (the truck driver), the others were hired help (no background check). Five days later Bitchy-Barb calls us and tells us that our belongings have exceeded the 8,000 lb. quote and that they were going to charge us an additional $1,000! How could this be, all we had were a bunch of boxes (no furniture)! Besides, John promised us that it wouldn't cost anymore then his quote (note to self, next time get it in writing). At this point the moving company has you by the balls. They have your stuff and now they want more money. Now what? What sort of leverage do you have? If you don't pay up they'll charge you a storage fee and will eventually sell your items to recoup their "loss". See what I mean about dealing with the Mafia? To call their bluff we had them weigh the truck before and after unloading it (get a receipt of the weight each time) and as it turns out our stuff weighed far less then 8,000 pounds! What a bunch of liars, caught them red handed at their own scam! Two days later they call us back and tell us that our stuff is still in Phoenix (two weeks after they picked it up). It was suppose to be in Denver in two days and by this time we were running out of clothes, medication, you name it. To make a long story short everything finally showed up a week later. Here's some advice when dealing with moving companies. They're all the same so regardless of who you use keep this in mind: Insurance. The standard insurance that came with our quote only covered $35,000. If you want additional insurance Atlas charges $4,000 for an additional $40,000 worth of insurance. Various online moving insurance companies will charge you about $400 for the same coverage! If something gets broken Atlas's insurance will cover it right? That depends on who packed it. If you packed it you are out of luck. If the movers packed it then it’s covered. Do you want to trust a bunch of guys making $8 a hour to pack your fine china? I don't. Do you have a two story house? If so make sure it's spelled out in the contract. If it's not the movers will show up and say "Oh, our paperwork says it's only a one story house. We'll have to charge you an additional $800 since you have stairs". What are you going to do argue with them? They'll drive off with your stuff if you do. Movers: Does the moving company use full time employees or guys hired off the street? Are they drug tested? Did the moving company do a background check on everyone? If someone hurts themselves during the move will your homeowners insurance cover that? It better because if they don't you'll end up paying their medical bills, disability and legal bills. Truck Drivers: These guys are awesome and are the only true professionals among the bunch. Not only do they drive the truck but they also help load and unload the truck at the destination. Weigh your boxes so you know exactly how much stuff you have. Write that weight on the box itself. That way when they call you a few days later saying that you exceeded the quoted weight limit you can tell them to go screw themselves. In the end moving is a pain and at some point during your life you or someone you know is going to have to do it. My advice? Call a container shipping company like PODS (even Lowe's does it now) and pack everything yourself.

Atlas Van Lines moved us from Ontario, Canada to North Carolina. The move was extremely well executed. The driver and the movers were great! My only issue with the move, was they were unloading and I still didn't know what the truck weighed, or what the final cost of our move was. I have worked in the moving industry for many years. This should NEVER happen! The customer should know what the final charges are prior to the moving truck arriving to unload! In addition to this, Atlas Van Lines emailed me asking me to write a review by using my last name, instead of my first name. They should have at least looked at the paperwork and gotten my correct name! We are grateful there was no major damage, and our crew at Origin and Destination were fantastic. The crew that packed our house were polite and efficient workers. The crew that unloaded the truck at our new home were very friendly. Our delivery was made Jan 10th - What put a bad taste in my mouth about this company is that they lost our only tv and seemingly knew that it was left on a truck somewhere when we called. We were told to make a claim. Days later, they said they lost it. A few days after that they had found it and were looking at their options to send it to us. They decided to close our claim because all was good. Except more time lapsed between that and the next time we spoke with them. Then they asked us which day we’d prefer, Jan 30th or feb 1st for our delivery. We said the 30th - I waited around my house all day for no one to show. Was called on the morning of the 1st to be told they actually weren’t coming at all. More time lapsed in their commutation with us. During the first week of February, we were told to open another claim for the tv and resubmit all of the paperwork on the tv that we had already submitted. It seemed like they were just going to cut us a check and at this point we were over waiting and would rather just get another tv. Cut to Feb 14th, they said a truck driver had our tv and we would contact us by the end of THAT day to schedule a delivery. Cool. Yay! Except we never head from him, so that’s that. No tv this weekend. Sunday, Feb 16th, we decided to go to a boat show about 1.5 hours away from our house. We were mid-way through our adventure when my phone rang. It was the truck driver and he said he was on our way to our house ??? We told him we did not know he was coming. He got a little bit of an attitude with me so I handed the phone to my husband. He asked if he could just leave the tv on our porch and my husband said no. He wasn’t comfortable with it sitting on the porch. We don’t want it sitting around because we weren’t due to be home for several hours AND we want to be able to receive it and sign for it after all of the issues we’ve had thus far. The truck driver lost his cool and yelled at my husband saying that’s not how this works and he was just going to throw our tv back in storage. He added that this delivery was a courtesy to us. I guess some kind of last minute courtesy delivery of a tv that THEY lost in the first place. Well now it’s February 18th and we still don’t have a tv after a month-plus process. We are in limbo waiting to hear from the company for when they can or if they will deliver it again. It’s not just them losing our television that makes me NEVER want to use them again. It is the negligence, attitude, and lack of communication & organization within this entire situation. We have dealt with 4 other moving companies in the last 10 years and have never once had an issue until now.

DO NOT use this moving company. Atlas Van Lines are SCAMMERS! This company has zero integrity and does not care about your possessions. They are subcontractors for Kaster Moving Company out of Stamford CT. Both companies are horrible! Both are not honorable and their tactics are to drive up costs...which is disgraceful; not to mention the inexperienced team of movers that essentially will come into your home and have no care or regard for your belongings. They will not repair any damages done to your belongings by their employees; and will charge your credit card for bogus charges without your consent. They ruined several pieces of my very expensive furniture and belongings and do not care. They will also try to minimize any claims you file. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable moving company to move your belongings and save yourself the stress and disappointment. Moving is stressful in itself; having a moving company try to scam you, minimize your concerns, and not do the right thing by its customer when the situation is due to their errors and negligence makes the experience beyond horrible. On principle I will seek restitution for all the pain and damages this company has caused me and my family.

WARNING: THEFT! A cross-country move with Atlas left us with thousands of dollars of personal belongings stolen. Not only did our movers take items that they were packing, but also rummaged through boxes that we had pre-packed, and took from the suitcases we told them were on our "no pack list" as they were coming with us on the plane. It was clear that they did not care that it was blatant, as they left many of the empty boxes from what they took for us to find. To make matters worse, we were home with our 6-month old the entire time. They took advantage of the moments we were taking care of our new baby and took valuables, heirlooms, even the piggy bank from our baby's nursery - SICK. When bringing this up with Atlas, including ownership from the company, they offered no remorse, no apology, and looked to every single loophole they could to avoid having to do anything to resolve the issue. The most disheartening part? Not one Atlas representative seemed surprised by our experience in the slightest, acting as if this was a normal part of their business. I have no doubt that these employees are still working for the company and may have access to your home if they are hired. Please, please take caution and learn from our mistake in hiring this company.

We changed the work order three times, we had two different pick-up locations and the final destination was a unload from the road and transferred to a smaller truck - all was done as expected. I move frequently, and Atlas was by far the most careful, efficient van line I have ever moved with. I will definitely use them in the future! My oversized sofa wouldn’t fit into my apartment through the front door due to the layout of the apartment. These movers used nothing but an 8 foot ladder, 2 movers, one driver and myself, and managed to miraculously hoist my sofa over the railing on my second floor balcony to get my new sofa safely into my apartment! WARNING!!!!! Do not use this company. Atlas told me they would pack for two days and load for one. They showed up a day late. I had to help them pack my house. As a result I had to take off work and I also injured my back. When I called to ask for more Atlas personal to help pack my house the owner of the company (Don Wishmann) threatened to pull his people off my house and leave my wife and three small children stranded. They damaged over 20k worth of furniture and refuse to pay my claim. We moved over 2 months ago and I still am unable to use some of my furniture due to Atlas Van Lines not settling my claim. I have moved over a dozen times in my life and have used major relocation services and have never had any issues in the past. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

Don't ever use Atlas for your moving needs. We are having the most horrible experience with them. We moved from Fishers, IN to Prescott Valley, AZ and Atlas lost one of our big, antique pieces of furniture. It never made it here with the rest of our items. We are trying to find out what happened to it but nobody has gotten back with us, since we told them about the missing piece. They have horrible standards, aren't organized and they don't really seem to focus or care about an individual customer's needs. They promise you great service, but in the end, this is what we got. We paid a total of $6,100 in moving cost. We feel that this is a very high payment for receiving such horrible service and for having misplaced one of our pieces of furniture. This cost would have been acceptable, had it all arrived here on a timely manner. But with no answers in sight, this is definitely a rip-off. Atlas doesn't care. Don't use them!!!

They packed, labled every box, loaded the truck (huge puzzle), delivered, and unloaded the truck in a total of 3 days. We used Prager Moving Atlas Van Lines out of Naperville IL to move from Montgomery IL yo Sevierville TN. We were downsizing and were moving out out state for the first time in our lives. Prager advance people were very professional and helpful and tryed to prepar us for the move. The Packing crew was so efficient that they would just go from 1 corner to the next and NOTHING was damaged in the process. The Driver and loading crew were also professional and efficient and loaded all our stuff quickly and easily. The driver was advised that there were tight mountain turns and others in our subdivision have had to use shuttles to unload.But he came sailing down the road at eight am and was ready to start unloading before the orange juice was ready. And unloading and setup was just as fast. I doubt that I will ever move again but if I do I would call Atlas and Prager if I could.
