We moved from Ontario to New Brunswick. We did all our own packing. The whole endeavour of moving was mostly positive except for a few glitches. First the PROS: 1-The three people who came to load our stuff in Ontario were quick and efficient. 2-I like the fact the company gave us 8 garment boxes. 3-The contact person responded to any enquiries in good time and was helpful. The CONS: 1-Our dining room table has two large scratches. 2-Our two dresses have damage on then. One has part of the wood broken off, the other has scratches on the bottom. Nothing we can say is major. We will most probably be able to fix both with glue and touch of paint. 3- Three of the 8 garment boxes were put in the truck upside down, so when we got them, the pole/rack had fallen off and all the clothes were at the bottom of the box. all had fallen off hangars and were wrinkled. 4- The other not great issue was the problem with the guy delivering the furniture. He was friendly and efficient but he had no guys to help him so it looked for awhile like it was just going to be him. He asked if we knew of anyone who could help. Well we know of no one as we have just moved to this province. He then asked if we could see if our Realtor knew of anyone to help. We called her but I was uncomfortable doing that as my husband and I didn't feel it was our responsibility to find someone to help him. After paying Rawlinson the amount we did, we shouldn't have to be the ones finding people to help unload the moving truck. He unloaded stuff for almost two hours on his own, then two guys showed up from Bathurst moving company to help and a guy who lives down the street.They all did a great job So it did turn out okay in the end for him but still........

Just finished moving from Mississauga to Paris ON. The movers were amazing. 3 guys in Paris, 4 at our Mississauga place moving out. For $1926 they worked nonstop since 10:00 this morning, finishing at 5:30, and they still have to drive back to Mississauga. They were meticulous and conscientious. Every piece wrapped individually, broke down and reassembled the dining room table and reclining chairs. Cannot say enough good things about them.

We used Rawlinson Moving for our move from Toronto to Ottawa (Gatineau side). TLDR: Great professionals, would recommend, would use again. The estimate-visit was done in under 30 minutes with Duane, remotely through their App. It worked great. 2 days later we had a quote, fixed price (no surcharge for "stairs" or "weight" or anything else). Moving day: Chris and his team came to load, marked each item. They were careful, clean, friendly. They marked and listed every item they took. 3 days later in Gatineau, delivery by Chris and his teammate. Delivered with care and cleanliness, every item listed was there and in good shape.

This past fall and into the winter, Rawlinson Moving helped us a relocate from Orangeville to the Barrie area. This was our fourth move using RMS and they have always stepped up to the plate. The load from Orangeville took place in October and our goods were stored at the RMS warehouse for approximately two months until our new home was ready in Barrie late December. Both of the load and unload could not have gone smoother. My wife and I couldn’t believe how fast the crew worked (lead by Matty) but still maintaining efficiency and provided extra care with our goods from start to finish. They arrived on time and began assessing the access and any important information to note before bringing the contents out on the load and in on the unload. They were extremely organized and properly protected our floors and stairs with clean runners; furniture with pads, bubble wrap and foam when needed; and any other objects that we’re coming in and out of our homes. The crew made a very stressful event in our lives (moving) fun and upbeat with their energy, positivity, willingness to work with us (the customer) and their sense of humour. I was worried about bringing a 350 lbs dresser up the stairs in our new home but this was no problem for them! They communicated around tight corners and brought it upstairs without a hitch. We are so very pleased that we decided to go with RMS and will continue to use them in the future while recommending them to family and friends!

I have used Rawlinson Moving on two occasions - on a move to the UK and on the return to Canada. We had a 3 bedroom house to move. As someone who had never moved like that before we had lots of questions and anxiety. Jim at Rawlinson was able to answer all our questions and gave us comfort that we were in good hands. The paperwork and export details were made easy for us and "goof-proof". On packing day Bevan and Ben showed up with all the appropriate materials, including putting temporary floor covering down to protect our floors. They packed and labeled everything, all while keeping a detailed inventory of items that was very helpful at the other end when we were unpacking. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rawlinson to anyone - the are professional, courteous, and understand how stressful moving can be. Thanks team!

Amazing team!!! We have moved from Toronto to Ottawa a few days ago. We did a lot of research on moving companies before selecting Rawlinson and they were just awesome. From the consultation to the coordination through to the actual move, they were Just flawless. We called our coordinator (Karin) several times before the move as we had many questions and every time she tried her best to answer all of our questions. The moving crew were meticulous and did not waste any time. Each piece of furniture and other items were individually wrapped. They also dismantled and reassembled all items efficiently. The delivery was done with great care too making sure they ask us where each box or furniture would go to make it easier for us. Honestly I would have given more stars if I could. I’m happy and relieved! Would recommend without any hesitation!

They require some adjustments to move from an 'okay' service to 'good'. Customer service not their specialty. Our home move (small semi detached home) was completed but not all contents were able to fit in their truck. We still required to fill our two SUV's + 2 loads on an Ford F150. They couldn't fit the final piece of our BBQ and left it behind. Four to five furniture pieces were completely damaged (large wall print ripped & some furniture items crushed/broken) and as we approach almost one month from our move date, still no reply for compensation after completing their claim form and had to resend pictures. I'm glad I packed my own tvs prehand. General labour who are hired to move contents are young muscles and not diligent experienced movers (ex. Boxes clearly marked or labeled 'garage' were brought inside and ones marked 'kitchen' left in garage). In the end I had to also understand why I was paying for labour when they took their hour lunch (had to call sales and the lead driver only removed the ingress lunch hour from total). Their best experience comes from their sales as knowledgeable. If I hit one month post our move and no compensation I'll move the rating to a 2 and absolutely not recommend this company at all. Jan 12 update: our claims not compensated after one month from our move date into our new home. Downgraded to two stars. They, 'can't get into the office due to COVID restrictions'. Understandable of course, but not explained to me that I would only be actioned once they are able to go back. I received that reply after I sent an email for status. Patiently waiting this one out further.

They were friendly and made the move from Toronto to Vancouver really easy. Good communication the whole time. The price seemed fair until I got hit with an extra $470.00 on the bill because I had moved to a small street. I gave 19 days notice to when I would move into the new condo and it took another two weeks on top of that to get the delivery. It was during the holidays so that didn’t make it easy. I’m the end I am fairly happy I used them. After all the horror stories I hear about other companies they seemed like a good choice.

In August 2021, my 86 year old mother finally downsized and moved out of the Toronto area to a smaller community 4 hours away. She thought it would all go quite smoothly since she paid $7500 plus HST for the moving company to take care of everything, including $2960 plus HST to "pack & unpack". These are the lessons we learned the hard way: 1. PAY ATTENTION TO UNLOADING DATES: She understood her stuff would be boxed up on Aug 9, loaded into a truck on Aug 11 and delivered on Aug 12. Suddenly their driver couldn't make it on the 12th and they couldn't get another driver until Aug 14. They said it was "all good" because they were still within the "range dates". Sure enough, the contract stated "Unloading Aug 12-14". We had borrowed an inflatable mattress that had to be returned Aug 13 so we had to get a motel room for that night. The moving company refused to reimburse the $111. 2. YOUR STUFF COULD BE IN BOXES FOR SOME TIME: No one arrived to unpack the boxes. We were told by the moving crew that, if we unpacked our own boxes, she would be partially reimbursed. Otherwise, someone wouldn't be available to unpack until Aug 16. We opted to do the unpacking so that she wouldn't have to wait a week with all her stuff in boxes. 3. UNPACKING DOESN'T MEAN PUTTING ANYTHING AWAY: She was reimbursed $500 for doing her own unpacking. Therefore, she paid $2460 plus HST just for the packing. When we questioned the amount, they explained that unpacking is less time consuming because they don't put anything away. They just place all the items on any flat surface they can find; countertops, floors, etc.

Clint Tisdale and Canadian crew at Rawlinson are a well oiled machine. Excellent experience from the moment they arrived on our driveway to move us from Canada to USA. They took inventory, wrapped furniture well, boxed all our artwork and wall hangings. Seeing how they pack our boxes and furniture so securely in the truck (like walls) was comforting to see. They worked hard and kept going all day long until the day ended into the night with short breaks in between. Their experience shows and like I said Clint's crew in Canada were exceptional, much more so than the crew Clint located in Indianapolis for our unload. Overall though, our experience was extremely satisfactory and we would not hesitate to use Rawlinson again in the future, and most definately we recommend their services to you!

we had a representative from the company come to the house to quote on a move out of province, when he emailed to see if we had come to a decision, and we told him that we was going in another direction, he got quite belligerent and rude. If this is the standard for the company, we made the right decision.

Not a good experience. It started with one of their moving people stealing my wife's credit card. I also had to check that all my property was tagged before loading, because it wasn't being done properly. The inter-city move was a disaster, though through no fault of the driver. His help didn't show up, and he was given the wrong information to contact us by the office, and the contact person at the office didn't work on our moving day. Getting replacement movers caused an almost 4 hour delay. Finally, trying to get compensation for breakages is a joke. I have contacted 2 people there over the course of the last 5 months, and they don't even bother to reply. I could be forgiven in thinking they don't care.

We were having a dispute with them regarding their quotes and what was delivered which was handled amicably and professionally. We paid for crating and packing and storage. The packers were great and took great care of everything and were VERY professional and helpful. There was a misunderstanding on the cost of unpacking which we had been verbally told was included. Although they first wanted an additional charge to unpack, following discussion with the principles they agreed to cover this fee.

I moved my son from Toronto to the Calgary area. The moving consultant (Duane Smith) met with my son to describe the process and provide an estimate. The movers arrived when they were expected and were very professional. The items arrived in Calgary when promissed. There was damage to one of the floor lamps however the claims department handled it as soon as I filled out the form. They accepted the claim immediatly! Overall a great expereince and would recommend to anyone making a long distance move.

BEWARE this company does not use secure credit card machines! They wrote card#s down in triplicate paper! They called me six weeks later threatening to sue because they failed to charge the card. They No-showed for a second booked move without explanation or apology. Avoid!

The movers were on schedule, they packed the truck professionally and delivered my belongings with very minimal damage. We are currently having to physically distance from our young grandchildren and are waiting for a Covid test due to the lack of consideration for your customers. Shame on you. No masks! You said your protocol was that you would social distance yet the foreman of the move was up in our grill at every opportunity and then when we had to make contact he was coughing and less than 1 metre away. My wife, dog, and I moved from Toronto to Vancouver during the summer. If it weren't for the quality and speed of the moving crews, I would likely give Rawlinson/Allied even fewer stars. First, the good: the crews in both cities were quick and professional, and took good care of our belongings. Nothing was damaged in transit. Now, the bad: when I first spoke to a Rawlinson agent, I made it clear that we would need our items delivered on or as close as possible to August 1, and they made it sound as if this would not be a problem. When I received the quote, it stated the delivery "window" went to August 11, but I didn't pay much attention to this, as the agent had been so reassuring. Ultimately, our items did not arrive until August 20, meaning we paid almost a month's rent for an apartment we could not live in, and had to stay in a hotel. Apparently there were a number of delays due to the pandemic, drivers' family emergencies, and illness. This is understandable, but no one actually communicated this to me until I repeatedly contacted customer service. I was also repeatedly given delivery dates that turned out to not be accurate. Allied was liable for accommodation costs outside of the delivery window, and so I submitted a receipt for nine days in the hotel. However, I was only refunded for part of the cost--they left out a pet charge of several hundred dollars. I emailed Allied to address this, and never heard back. Overall, I would not recommend Rawlinson or any Allied agent for a long-distance move. They were unresponsive, unreliable, and I was not refunded the entire amount I was owed.

I have nothing but praise for Rawlinson. From start to finish, for a full move from Ontario to BC smack in the middle of covid, they were personable, professional and efficient. I interacted with many of their staff and they were all so courteous, reliable and transparent. The process started with Jeff who was extremely knowledgeable, highly transparent, easy to get in touch with, and definitely a great sense of humor which just made the process that much more enjoyable. I had several large pieces of fragile art to transport and they were phenomenal in how they dealt with it. They built wooden crates to keep them safe and were so obviously attentive to dimensions and minimizing any movement. I was so impressed with this aspect. The two ladies who did the packing of the paintings, clothing and other household items were phenomenally attentive and insanely efficient. In 8 hours they packed up what would’ve taken me 2 weeks but it was all so carefully wrapped. Rick the driver was the epitome of what it means to go ‘above and beyond.’ He methodically took apart heavy items in Ontario and reassembled them upon arrival in BC, even putting better screws in one table! He kept in touch with me the whole way and I felt so reassured that the safe delivery of my possessions was his no.1 priority. The movers at both the ON and BC end were polite and most definitely focused on not breaking or scuffing a single object. Indeed the ONLY thing that broke, in 8000 LB of possessions, was the handle of a large coffee mug (which I simply converted to a funky plant holder). There was a logistical hiccup midway through the moving process but Rawlinson solved this in two days, proving even more how professional they are. Hands down, I will use them again for any future moves. You surely get what you pay for. Thank you, Rawlinson!

I moved 1100 miles from Bentonville, Arkansas to Toronto Canada, with very little notice, an ambiguous move in date, and during a pandemic. I can only imagine I was an absolute headache for the team and yet all I ever got from Rawlinson were big smiles and rapid solutions. Jim & team went above and beyond at every opportunity to make the process transparent, straightforward and suitable to my preferences. For example, in a particularly unfortunate interaction with Canada Customs, I was required to to leave and print out additional documents to support the claim that I was a resident of the US. Jim stayed at the office an hour and a half after closing just to help me clear my furniture, something I could have done in the many hours their office was actually open. These personal touches, and their unwavering commitment to excellence are the reason I will never move with a company other than Rawlinson again. Do yourself a favour and give Rawlinson a call today. We chose Rawlinson Moving after meeting and interviewing several other companies. Duane Smith came to our home and carefully assessed our needs. Within a few days, we had a quote. It was competitive, and while not the cheapest and we chose Rawlinson. We checked into the company and felt their reputation was well worth it. We read the horror stories with other movers and all of this was part of our choice. Moving is a very difficult and emotional process. From start to finish we were extremely satisfied with our experience with Rawlinson. The crew that came into our home was excellent. They worked quickly and efficiently with great attention and respect for our belongings, our home and us. At the receiving and unpacking end, our new home, we had the same team. Again, they were fantastic and we felt we were in excellent hands from start to finish. Moves are never easy and ours was no exception. There was a delay with getting the key to our new home and everyone at Rawlinson was very understanding. The guys had to stay longer than expected and they hustled at the end to get every last item into our new home. Not one item was damaged or broken. Their attention to detail is amazing. Everything is wrapped safely to prevent damage. And while in our home, they had mats to cover floors. We would highly recommend Rawlinson Moving for all your moving needs!

They are polite, punctual and respectful.Upon arrival, floors are protected with quilted clean mats.They handle your possessions with extreme care.I have never had any item broken.We have had moves from Ottawa, North Carolina, Kingston, Montreal, Kitchener and each move has been stress free. I would (and recently have) referenced Rawlinson to my friends and family. I recommend that you include them in any moving plans to at least get a quote and hear their plans. Very impressed with the all-round service, professionalism and understanding by the team to provide options to reduce costs by advising the home owners of any tasks they can do (but not required). We searched around for referenced moving companies and identified two that we would meet with and get quotes. I had been in the moving business for 8 years so had an idea what I expected and unfortunately what could happen. Duane came by the house and reviewed requirements. We were doing a local move of a 4 BR to a larger sq ft bungalow. As it was a few streets over I thought one day would do. Duane advised that it might be best to plan for two days, one to load and second to offload as his experience was that there is often a delay in getting keys to the new home. His team would wait if I wanted but at an hourly rate it would be cheaper for me to split over two days. As it turned out Duane was right and the keys were late but the crew did give us the option to do it all in one day if we did get the key early. Morning of the move the team arrived (Shawn, Ian, Terrance) and introduced themselves. They reviewed contents, any special instructions, inquired what I wanted to do (take beds apart, table apart) or advised that they could do it all, again presented options to reduce their time and my cost. They started to wrap all chairs and furniture with pads and tape. Floor runners were placed anywhere they would walk. No furniture left the house without being wrapped. Beds were placed in plastic bags. I made sure they had plenty of drinks and food (it’s what every home owner should do!!) and stayed out of their way. 8 hours later the trucks (2 as we were moving into a circle so roads were tight) were loaded and we agreed to restart in the morning. 8:30 am they arrived and again reviewed the layout, placed floor runners and inquired about any special instructions. They finished the move around 14:00 and inquired asked if we could take another look (they walked with us) to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction.

I had my stuff moved from Brampton to Mississauga and another time my mom had her stuff moved within Brampton. I even opted for their optional storage. All three of these choices were huge mistakes on our part. In the end my mom's stuff and my stuff were damaged (these were 2 different years), some were small cheap things like an all wood coffee table, some were large expensive things like a piano, and some were valuables like a statue. Her damages were at least $1200, mine were around $500. Here's the kicker, before we signed off at the end of the move, we sighted the damages, they said they would send an appraiser, they did for my mom, and then we never heard back from them after that. We also couldn't get a hold of them. We even went there and the manager and owner were conveniently not in at that moment. I also never did get an appraiser to come for my stuff. Take notice of the other unhappy reviewers, when stuff gets damaged and/or something goes wrong, this company will suddenly disappear on you. I even reported them to the bbb, but it was a slap on the wrist for them and not help for me.

We did a lot of research before hiring Rawlinson. Sadly, we were misled by shady sales tactics. Beware: this company uses their appearance on CBC marketplace as a sales tool, but they are just like a lot of companies out there who take advantage of people who need their services. A few things you need to know: - Crew was unprofessional and did not follow any safety measures for COVID-19. None! - By law, moving companies are not allowed to charge you more than 10% of the estimate provided. Rawlinson offers a total price guarantee. Whatever they quote is the final price. BUT beware this price has already been marked up by at least 10%. - They lie about using their own experienced crew. They contract out their crew, which means that you have inexperienced, low paid workers handling your furniture. Moving day was stressful for us! This company is overpriced. They try to tell you that you pay more because the service is better. I'm telling you, it's not! Do your research get several quotes. You will find other companies are all within the same range of each other. There's no reason to pay more for this company. *Response to Rawlinson: Ryan is my middle name so you wouldn't have record of that. And the timing of my other reviews doesn't mean anything. I stand by my review as it is a true reflection of my experience with your company.

Our first experience with Rawlinson was over 30 years ago when we moved houses for the second time. Since then we have relied upon them exclusively when we require a moving company. We have moved 3 times since that first move, my mother was moved once, and an aunt changed apartments in the same building. I recommended them to a friend moving to Pennsylvania for work. Maria sent us a note thanking us for recommending such a terrific company. They made their move so easy. Most recently, June 2020, they moved a large quantity of goods from one storage location to another near our home. From the first estimator – Jim – we dealt with, all the crews who did the work, and the people in the office we have had only the best results. It was a pleasure to write this review. I cannot recommend Rawlinson Moving highly enough! If we move again, I know just who to call!

It was a year ago yesterday that Rawlinson moved us from Mississauga to London. We have had to deal with many issues moving to a new house in a new city and neglected to write a well deserved review as we believe it is important to acknowledge a company your happy with along with the fact that it helps others choose who is best for them. The move from our house in Mississauga was flawless,our furniture was painstakingly wrapped as this was our main concern. They held our furniture in storage for two days and delivered to our new home July 1st. We were probably the only people in this complex who were happy with our movers as there are many horror stories ! Everyone we dealt with from this company was great and very respectful of our homes and that was greatly appreciated! We would definitely recommend this company and wouldn`t hesitate using them again if we ever needed to.

Rawlinson came by recommendation of a family friend as well as previous experience of my parents. My Husband and I booked with them in June as we were moving from an apartment in Brampton to a house in Guelph. It was an incredibly hot day and the two men who completed our move did so efficiently, carefully and worked non-stop until the job was done. They were extremely pleasant and would highly recommend if you’re looking for a moving company. From the initial booking and set up of the move to signing and finalizing the paperwork at the end, we felt like we were on good hands and were happy that all of our items arrived in perfect condition.

I moved my household from Ontario to Arizona recently. I contacted about a dozen companies. Some asked for a face-time tour of my household and estimated based on what they saw. Two company reps actually came in to estimate in person. One of the latter ones was Duane from Rawlinson. He told me exactly how much everything weights and gave me a guaranteed estimate. His estimate wasn't the cheapest but what he said made sense to me. My items were picked-up on time and gently moved into a truck. The delivery in AZ was smooth with the truck arriving on time. The company's representative always kept me in the loop on the delivery schedule so there were no surprises. Overall, I'm extremely happy with Rawlinson and their service and I'd recommend them for a move of any complexity.

We hired Rawlinson for our move from Newmarket to Kitchener in December. We had a great experience. The team of movers was excellent- very friendly, positive and professional. They took great care packing our furniture and there was no damage to any of our belongings. Move from Toronto to Winnipeg Positive: Our stuff arrived on time with no damage. I would have rated Rawlinson higher if it wasn't for a few BIG issues: 1.) NO safety precautions for COVID!! In Toronto: the crew didn't wear masks or wash/sanitize hands; one used our bathroom and peed on the seat and floor, which I had to clean up! The crew in Wpg (one a cross-canada truck driver), refused hand sanitizer that my mom offered after they also refused to wear masks in our home. I expressed my concerns to coordinator Karin, and asked about the company's COVID safety policy. I was ignored. NO RESPONSE. 2.) Expensive leather furniture wrapped in plastic: I learned the day after our stuff was picked up that wrapping leather furniture directly in plastic is a big NO NO. It can melt in heat and cause permanent damage. The driver who delivered in Wpg even commented on it and said we were lucky it didn't melt, and was surprised that the crew wrapped it like that. Not sure why he didn't fix it in the warehouse as he said he loaded the truck. 3.) Watch out for shady sales tactics! We fell for them. The biggest one: I was guaranteed by Duane that Rawlinson uses their own, highly experienced employees for the move. This was important to us as we've heard horror stories about companies using contracted crew at low rates. Well, they do contract out crew. If they say they don't, they are lying! In Toronto, 2 of the 3 crew were young kids with NO experience, who stood around most of the time while the driver tagged items and barked orders at them. It was nerve-racking and uncomfortable. Don't forget they wrapped our leather furniture directly in plastic! It was the complete opposite experience I was sold on and I felt like a fool because I could have gone with another Allied partner for $500 less. Yes, our stuff made it onto the truck - but we were lied to and It caused a lot of stress. Proceed with caution...

Recently, I had the pleasure of dealing with Rawlinson Moving and Storage for my daughter's move From Toronto to Halifax. It started with Cindy who had a way of easing my concerns and she made it easy to make my decision on which moving company to go with. She then passed me to our wonderful move coordinator Karin, who was perfect for this job. She was my go to person for this. The team of Calvin and Matt, both funny and very efficient in Toronto. Brian did the trip and delivery with his team out East. All of them very professional and all extremely nice to deal with, especially during these trying times of pandemic. This was the best moving experience I've had with professional movers. It was a stress free day for pick up and at the other end we had two of my daughter's friends proxy for her since they lived in Halifax already and did not have to quarantine, so they received the belongings from Brian and they stated he was friendly and really nice to deal with. He was even able to deliver on the first day of the delivery time window. I would highly Recommend Rawlinson for anyone considering a professional moving company for their move.
