The packing was done quite well but unfortunately the moving and storage was not. The moving was, unbeknownst to us, subcontracted to another company. Our furniture was in storage for three months. We paid quite a bit of money for this move and were very surprised by the results. They damaged all five pieces of our 1785 table which we don't know if it can be repaired. They chipped two other valuable antiques multiple times. They broke two lamps -- for some reason they hadn't bothered to pack the table lamp. Sadly we cannot and will not recommend them. Disappointingly unprofessional.

It started with a great sales consultant who answered all my questions, told me many things I hadn’t thought of, and emailed me helpful information for planning my move. The Operations team continued the great service and kept me well-informed in the days leading up to the move. On the day of the move, the moving team arrived on time and were amazing - quick, cheerful, professional and a real pleasure to work with. Several hours after the move, I noticed I was missing the shelf from my coffee table, which had obviously been overlooked on the truck. Because I was busy with other things, it was a couple of days before I called the company about it, and I thought odds were good it might well be lost by then. However, they were quick to track it down, and delivered it to my door in perfect condition the next morning. I will definitely use these guys if I move again!

They came prepared for pretty much any eventuality regarding what furniture items they might need to pack, and had a two bedroom apartment packed in two and a half hours, and unloaded and assembled in just over two hours at my new place. On the day of the delivery the team leader Jason was a pleasure to work with - he ensured that the customs clearance and delivery was quick and easy. He was a great guy who really tried his best to help us out. His team were also very polite, hardworking and good natured. We had a lot of crates, it was a hot day and we were delivery boxes to two different locations so there was a lot of moving around and lifting - but at all times the whole team was extremely professional and actually fun to be around.

Do not use this Company!!! I did a local move and purchased four extra boxes from Staples so they stood out from my other boxes. One box was missing when I started to unpack my items. I called them three times and told them I was missing one box but the owner called me back and told me that no box was turned in and it would show up (it never turned up so I called again and got the same response. He told me this happens all the time, so put two and two together and it doesn't take long to figure out where my box went. This one box contained over $9,000 plus in items that I never found. I went into their office today, September 5, 2013 to ask for a form to fill out an insurance claim and the woman was so rude and would not give me the form even though it says on the back of the work order I signed that I had insurance. I was given the run around and was told I was should not have put my valuable items in a box but I put all my valuables in every box including my jewelry. There was no place in the contract that said I could not put my valuables in one of my own boxes that I packed myself. Just another way to make me look stupid and blow me off. I have thousands of dollars of items I put in my other boxes, should I not have put those in boxes to be moved? What is the point of a moving company if you can't trust them with your valuables? Sounds like they are talking out of both side of their mouths. I was very insulted by such a rude response since I put all of my valuables in every box that I moved. I asked for an insurance claim form and was refused and was told that Mike Haynes would have to call me. The same person who told me that people misplace boxes all the time and it would show up. It never showed up and I knew it was missing from my first call to them. It was not a productive meeting and I got blown off again and being told I was stupid for putting my valuables in a box was down right rude and wrong. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a report and sent them an update of what happened when I dropped in today.

My experience for my recent move (Jan-30-19) with Premiere Van Lines (PVL) was the best moving experience I have had in a long time. When I first contacted PVL, I spoke with Neil West. Neil addressed all my questions and even provided recommendations for my move. On moving day, the three gents (Nick, Dan, & Wes) were exceptional. Nick, Dan and Wes are true professionals – personable, respectful, efficient and they handled my belongings with the utmost of care. It is also worth mentioning that it was snowing during my move – the guys handled this additional challenge with ease. Although I do not anticipate moving again anytime soon, I have no reservations in recommending Premiere Van Lines. When it does come time for another move, I will be contacting Premiere; the service I received was par excellence!

I was extremely dissatisfied with the packing and moving services I received from this organization. Their front line staff were disrespectful of my property and of the building I was leaving (swearing loudly, using building mats to prop open the door, etc), my furniture was not wrapped or transported with care, comments were made about the poor quality of items they broke, and they have denied ever seeing some damaged and missing art. I was provided with the bare minimum for my claim and the customer service I received was unsatisfactory.

I have moved many times over the years. Each time I try a new company as I have not been satisfied with the previous company. Mostly it has been about very under quoting the cost of the move. I was apprehensive about hiring another. From the minute we I met with Jessica Brown for a consultation and quote I knew I was in better hands. The test really comes the day of the move though. They EXCEEDED our expectations by a mile! FANTASTIC! The three gentlemen that did the move were so careful, efficient, professional, helpful and polite!! True professionals! WAY TO GO! Hopefully I am not moving for a while but the next move I make will certainly be with Premiere Van Lines in Dartmouth! SO PLEASED!!! THANK YOU!!!

I booked with premiere Vans way before my move about 6 weeks. I filled out a pre creit card form and the contract. They don't take a deposit btw! The day before our move they charge the full amount they estimated to the CC. Which lead to running around on my end because my credit card didn't work! That was my fault! It was our first experience with a professional moving company and they lived up to that name: professional. Quote / cost: the process was simple, explained well, and had no hidden costs. Communication: every question we asked by phone or email was answered, usually within a few hours. We never felt like we were bothering them; they showed they valued us as customers. We used premier to do a last minute cross country move. The quote that gave us was exactly spot on, but only because they put in the leg work to find the right quote. They asked us questions about what we had, and how many boxes to create an accurate quote. Lots of other companies gave us a very low quote but premiers was realistic, and it turned out to be spot on. They showed up about 2 weeks after they picked our items up, and everything was in perfect condition. They worked with us to find a drop off date that worked, and made sure to unload everything carefully as well. They made sure to provide the list to check off things as they were unloaded, and made sure I had no concerns before they left. I would recommend this company to anyone as they were so easy to communicate with. Anytime I had a question, I had a response within a very short period of about 2 hours. They were also kind to speak with, even after they had our business. If we were to move across the country again, we would use them without hesitation!!

The movers were also friendly and treated our stuff with care. They were quick and yet thorough...making sure everything was on the truck and coded properly. The person that delivered our stuff was proficient and made sure all the items were accounted for. There was a little mishap with a telephone wire that was over the street due to the size of the semi and the height of the wire. The trucker was apologetic and gave direction on what to do. The company picked up 27 windows and exterior doors at the Kohler factory in Debert NS and delivered them to my new house under construction in Northport NS. I can’t say enough good about Mike Hanes and the whole process. It would have been a nightmare trying to rent a truck, hire workers, pick up and deliver the items. Mike had his truck and workers at the plant on time, picked up the order, and delivered them to the job site without a hitch. I would not hesitate to hire Mike’s services in the future or recommend them to others. June 3rd, 2021, the moving team, Alex, Francis and Otis came and delivered our belongings from Truro to Cole Harbour as promised, and in an extremely professional manner. We did not have any broken items, and they were delivered in the same shape as they were packed in 2020. I would also like to thank Mike Hanes who was always available when I called for any inquiries and he kept me fully informed at all times. Went with these guys and about $2500 worth of game consoles/games/dvds were 'lost' (I suspect the workers stole them and pawned them off for quick cash) in transition from one place to the other. It took 9 months for the insurance company to finally partially compensate us (and only then because we badgered them to death). Don't go with this company. NOT trustworthy!

Premiere Van Lines Halifax, was responsible for the canadian portion of our move back to Canada from Europe. Being a military family, of all the many moves we've done, this was by far the easiest, thanks to the staff from Premiere Van Lines Halifax. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this company. From the initial contact by Neil West, the personal touch and the quick response to concerns by Neil whenever we had a question. The drivers and the highly professional unload and unpack crews that worked so hard to get our possessions out of the sea containers and into our new home. Jim Dean and crew were so patient, polite and understanding. They took extra time during the unpack to ensure nothing was broken and everything was placed where we wanted it. All the furniture was reassembled properly and they didn't leave the house until we were happy with everything. Several days later when we were fully unpacked, Alan Macgregor was able to quickly organize the pickup of the empty boxes, so they weren't sitting in the garage for more than a day. Premiere Van Lines also handled the delivery of our car back to Canada. The car arrived in perfect condition. Again, Neil was phenominal, walking us thru the customs process, ensuring we had all the proper paperwork and helping us get the car back on the road. Do not use this company!!! I had to move things out of a few rooms due to a flood and they were stored locally. When the boxes came back a GREAT manyear things were missing and of the things I got back there was extensive damages due ridiculous packing practice. They wrapped and packed fragile things on the bottom then put heavy things on top. One box had 2 large heavy brass lamps packed with a large ceramic lamp that, of course, got completely destroyed. They didn't even mark which shades went with which lamp as there were many similar ones. Many small fragile figurines were packed with heavy books and/or DVDs. They even reused boxes from a previous move since there were names and locationstored written on the boxes that my house doesn't have. I complained and got no reply and the lost things were never found. The people doing the packing were nice enough but were not trained properly by their bosses.

The Premiere Van Lines took down Power lines and ripped off a neighbours Power mast. This incident pushed all packing of contents back 4-5 hours. When they did deliver ,all the help but 2 guys were young ,they did pretty good. The dining table has a wonky leg now which never did before. We noticed 2 older guys trying to screw something in the one wonky leg. Looking back it’s obvious that they mishandled the table. As of today there are 3 long wooden legs missing and a lamp shade from the living room lamp. Seriously how does a large lamp shade disappear?

I have used Premiere for moving services on 2 occasions (1.5 years apart). Both times the service provided by the movers and support staff was solid. There was one broken item during the first move however after going through the claim process we were reimbursed for the replacement. My 3-star rating is a result of the cost of services and corresponding response from management. The cost of our 2nd move was considerably higher with elements that should have resulted in a lower cost (house was 2/3 the size, fewer rooms + items, move to storage so no reassembly). Unfortunately we could not be on site during the move given pandemic restrictions and were not given sufficient reasons for the additional time required. It is difficult to conclude that the additional time was not a result of inefficiencies during the unsupervised move. It is unfortunate that we will no longer be using Premiere given the lack of transparency upfront when setting expectations and accountability accepted by management and the corresponding costs that were passed on to us as their clients. Thank you.

Hired this company to move my4 bedroom house from Halifax to Antigonish (2he drive). Contract signed, all good. Day before the move I realized on the contract that the date was the day after I requested...NOT the day I requested (albeit my own fault for not catching it sooner) but the email title was the date I requested so I assumed they were competent to write in a date (again I was wrong for assuming). So instead of apologizing all I got from the salesman that did it wrong was "I'll get operations to call you to see if they can help". I got one call from operations to say they would try. No update...no calls. Any info I got was from my own calling. Still no apology or recognition that ppl have vacation days taken for this move or that I am now in a new town with 3 young kids and no furniture. I get mistakes happen but own up to them. The moving guys however were amazing (even they said they werent surprised that the guy I dealt with screwed up). I'd hire the moving guys themselves privately in a heartbeat but would not deal with sales, management or the company again.
