Here we offer you the feddbacks of real people who have information of the products of Collins Mehling Transfer (Moving Company) near to the territory of Argentia (Canada).
As of day this business gets a score of 1.7 over 5 and the score is based on 16 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is quite weak, and it's founded on a very high number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are pleased, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Moving Company corresponds to the category of Moving and storage service.
Absolutely horrible to deal with. This company was subcontracted by 2 Smell Men with Big Hearts. As other reviews have said, this company has no concept of sticking to a delivery time, and won't take responsibility for mistakes. Our shipment from Ontario to BC was forgotten about, so it was late by 2 weeks (took a bit over a month from pickup time, instead of the 2 weeks we had originally planned on). I had to call the dispatcher multiple times to get updates, and each time he tried to rush me off the phone and not give any update. Not ONCE did they get in touch with me first, except for about 2 hours before they were about to drop off. We were lucky that all of our items are accounted for, but the major delays and lack of communication was frustrating. DO NOT use this company for your move.
A nightmare! After 3 months of supposedly looking for our missing items I received an unsigned, unaddressed email that was 12 letters long. And this was from no underling, it came from Mr. Mehling! No apologies, no response to our purchased (seemingly worthless) insurance for damages and missing items. Unresponsive to correspondence and most unprofessional. Follow up was terrible as requested aid to find our important and irreplaceable items was met with arrogance and defense tactics rather than customer service. I cannot recommend this outfit and would have given zero stars if possible.
Really awful communication, does not own up to mistakes made and has to consistency in delivery schedule. Unimpressed.
It's about time I must say something about Collins Mehling Moving company. Tiffany, receptionist conveniently forgets who you are. Joy, the supervisor just doesn't return calls. Yes, they are the cheapest rate per hour. But in the end, you will have lost/stolen soooo much more. - I first used them September 2009 from White Rock, BC to St. John's Newfoundland. Be careful of the person responsible for logging all that crosses your door path. Tiny numbered stickers are placed on all boxes/furnishings. Back then 2009, sitting permanent on my kitchen bar stool, data logger, he over-weight with a sore back, we had to alert him to place the stickers. He saw all that was being carefully bubble wrapped packed into boxes from my China cabinets. 7 boxes never made it to St. John's, NL. No stickers. So much broken. Apparently one of 4 chairs got delivered in Moncton NB. That was returned by 7am following day. No scheduled flights into Nfld and impossible by ferry from Port aux Bas. I even bought extra insurance $300. This cash receipt was bogus when I approached a lawyer and given all my broken things. I tried to claim through Collins Mehling. My correspondence was not responded to. Shame, I was heart broken to lose so many treasured things. No attention is paid to the 25 large red fragile stickers I again placed on my return move back to BC May 2019. I was told a second time that it was a straight-thru-run. No unloading; but apparently they do in Ontario. - April 29th 2019, I thought I had them CM, beat this time; but I caught 5 boxes that Marion/Marilyn, data logger (resides in Nova Scotia with Blair, Driver) swore she checked; but I had to alert her to place those tiny stickers. ....oh sorry, I missed those. Again, every item/box was labeled both sides with my new address 8"×11" largely printed twice, each item back to White Rock, BC. Upon return eventually, 19 address sheets were ripped off. This 2nd time move with CM my mistake was putting the box number on each large label ie 14/89, 24/89, etc. Very difficult for me to match up with my detailed notes at the other end BC, given their hurry up - we're on a timer. Two bathroom boxes didn't reach, including some forgotten jewelry, unfortuneately my fault, were stolen. Travelling + endless excuses from Tiffany & Joy = one month to deliver and no Blair as promised, wasn't the Driver. Despite he showed me a map of the Langley truck depot and the motel he & Marion were staying at, should I have any questions. To this day 11 msgs. they have not responded to. I think they have call display. And, apparently they are not allowed to ship any broken furniture, even if you offer to sign a waiver. ....following their instructions to step aside, I some how knocked over my 50" Sony smart TV. Yes it still worked, but some waves appeared top right hand side. They refused to ship it because of legalities. They offered to dispose of it for me. What could I do? At the end of the move in Nfld, they asked me for the remote. Sure, I gave it. Geese, my lap top dropped and those tiny waves were fixed. Ooh & be careful, Marion's excuse on the packaging was she made a mistake and labeled an item "twice" ie china cabinet, she thought two pieces, yet carried out in one piece. - So at the end count, happy I was, we tallied in Nfld. Not so, at your destination. ....and I've just heard another horrifying story about Collins Mehling Moving Company, hence this post. - Gotta say you the Owners have to be extra diligent!!! Or up for a challenge, as I did, 2nd time and lost. I was going to report followup on Market Place, but just didn't have the time they required. Good Luck, Angie Vanderkooi
Theirs response for my claim says it all. Will not recommend.
Quoted deliver of 10 to 18 days, took 38. Extremely poor communication. We had to initiate every update. For example, on day 18 we were still naively expecting some kind of notification but had to repeatedly reach out to them for updates. When things finally arrived many items were missing their labels as they had been transferred more than once. Although we tried to do our best to account for everything at least one box of items did not arrive.
I was looking a moving company to take me to Nova Scotia. My friends used this company. A very valuable painting was missing. It was carefully labelled and identified. It got "Lost" somewhere and this company won't do anything or admit liability. I'm still looking for an honest company!
Andrew is the new owner. I've now used Andrew twice to move me from Nova Scotia to Ontario, and then back again two years later. Let me tell you a little bit about their service: 2017 Move: I was badly hurt two days prior to the move in a motorcycle accident. Andrew had already collected my goods, moved them up to Ontario without me needing to go there, and met a family member to move them into my new place. He was fast, thorough, and friendly. These guys went out of their way to help me, for no other reason than because they could. 2019 Move: I contracted with Andrew again to move my things to N.S. He showed up on time (to the minute), and worked all day in 30+ degree heat to move and load my home and a storage locker. They didn't charge me a dime extra for the locker. In N.S., I was misled regarding the size of the storage locker that I had waiting for me. Without even having the agreed upon space, Andrew packed and repacked my things into the locker TWICE to make sure that they'd all fit. Andrew could have given up, been paid, and gone on his way, but instead he went out of his way to help me again. Just because he could. Oh, and he charged me less than the estimate, and gave me the loaded weight within hours of pickup. 5 Stars!
This was the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. Their quote was out by 50% (and they never provided the required evidence of the weight), they damaged a number of our items and offered $150 to cover well over $1000 worth of damage (even though we had taken their insurance), they lost items, they were over a week late without letting us know what was going on, and when we complained they were rude and condescending. We called to find out where our stuff was and the office staff had no idea and never called us back. The driver and movers were pleasant enough, although not super professional as many boxes were un-numbered and we were told that it didn't matter, items were lost as two sets of goods in the same truck were numbered with the same colour, and items/houses were damaged. We got some of our lost things back several weeks later, but some remain lost.
I wish there is a lower rating which I could give. Dishonest sales consultant (watch our for Nina based in Calgary). Made empty promises and messed up my moving schedule. Lied about truck broke down, but it was not true after to found out from the dispatch. By the end they threatened me to pay otherwise they will not unload my goods. They only response from customer service was that “this is your bill, you have to settle it”. There are plenty of companies to choose from. However, I would like to add that the movers who handled the goods were excellent!
After waiting months for our delivery, we were told there was only a four hour window it could be delivered. When we said we would be at work, the driver rudely hung up on us and told us there would be additional charges because we were not available for the specific four hours among the several weeks this could be delivered. The company has no respect for their customers' time. There is no concept of scheduling a delivery time and sticking to that time. Now we are being told to set aside our lives for a four day window because we may receive the item during that time, but they don't know when. This is the most frustrating delivery company I've ever dealt with.
I moved from Newfoundland to Edmonton. Time taken to deliver the articles was more than quoted. Many items were missing on delivery. I was asked to file claim for missing articles which I filed, but waiting to hear back for claim since five months. Will not recommend. Very poor communication and service. Stay away!
Five framed prints (w/ glass) were broken, one large picture didn't arrive, two larger ceramic planters were broken, one floor lamp was completely wrecked, and my hearing aids are gone. None of the plants survived due to the truck sitting in Calgary for over a week. The two individuals who packed up my belongings were not in the least friendly. I've sent two emails to Betty Bennett for a response with nothing to date. Subcontractor for another trucking firm who I assumed had a good reputation. This company just wants your money.
Moved us from Toronto to Calgary in 2017. They guarantee the estimate within 10% and our final bill was lower than the estimate. The movers were great, very professional and took a lot of care. The company did not do a hard sell at all (you almost have to drag all the benefits out of them) and didn't follow up to see how the move went, which is a shame because I would have told them it went great! 4 stars only becuase the sales team could use some polishing.
Don't trust their estimate! The sales person was off by 40% (about $4000!) and told me they would take 7 to 14 days to deliver. We got our things 19 days later with a stupid excuse about getting stuck in Toronto. The driver was fine, but the office staff don't care about you once their have all your belongings. I would NEVER trust these guys again. They made a number of marks at both homes in our hardwood floors and walls. A couple of boxes have been lost and approximately 20% of items didn't even have a number on the box to track.
Choose this company if you like your stuff handled with care! Excellent! I have moved numerous times and have had my share of difficult move. I hired these movers for cross country move. They were absolutely excellent. Not only did they wrap all my belongings in blankets, they even took the time to set up my beds upon arrival. The service I had with them was unsurpassed. The sales person gave me the contact of my driver so I could be informed of delivery date and such. Ron was my driver. He was extremely caring and kind. Best customer service I have had in a long time. He did everything to make sure my belongings arrived on time (which is hard for cross country move). Everything arrived safely and was handled professionally. Movers made sure to itemize all my belonging. I couldn't be more satisfied. I recommend this company very highly
