If zero stars was an option that is what Good Ol' Boys moving would get from me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They have non-existent customer service and professionalism. We booked GOB over a month in advance for our move. DAY OF THE MOVE, AFTER we called to confirm they were on their way AND AFTER being 45 minutes late, they called saying they weren't coming. They just weren't showing up. No attempt was made to fix the situation. The owner was supposed to call us, never did. Morale of the story: don't let what happened to me, happen to you. Book someone else. I recommend Mike the Mover, Super Movers, Macho Movers, or Easy Moving Solutions. These are the companies that went above and beyond to help us get out of the situation Good Ol' Boys left us in.
Another moving company disappeared on me two days before I was flying out of the province. I emailed Jessie at 11pm and he called me back within minutes and set me up with a company who had a truck coming through the following day. They moved me from Calgary to the GTA in four days. I wish I had gone with them from the start to save the stress.
The guys were great!!!! Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!!!
I used Good Ol Boys to move from Toronto to Kitchener. David and Lou were amazing. So friendly and super cool. Next time I move, I will be using them specifically to move. Only reason I gave a 4 star is because it too WAY longer than expected and there double my quote, which I understand. It just sucks
In 2012 I had this company bring my stuff across Canada hello after 23 days they still hadn't delivered it they were no longer in contact with me and could not tell me where my stuff was this puts a whole house a family of four moving from Ontario to Alberta who has lost all their stuff and they could not tell me where was they had a third-party then 14 days later deliver the stuff to me and tried to charge me another thousand dollars when they got there
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY OR FALL FOR JESSE BETTS "NICE SALE GUY TACTICS". We hired the Good Ol Boys Moving Company for our move from Edmonton to Toronto end of August. After promising 14 or less business days, they delivered beyond this window in September. Upon unpacking, I noticed my box labelled "jewellery" was missing. I called the company, specifically Jesse Betts, and let him know about the missing items. To my surprise, he was yelling at me, telling me that his "guys" would never steal or misplace any boxes. I knew that this is untrue since the movers asked us if items that we had never seen before were ours. He was extremely uncooperative when I was communicating my concerns. When asked if they have searched for my box, he said they did not find a missing box and said all I can do was file a claim form for my missing belongings. After filing my claim, I have not heard a response from the company.
We had a fairly large and slightly chaotic move. Lum, Fuller and Perry were friendly, courteous, efficient and flexible. All of our items were handled with care and reassembled. They made what could have been a very stressful day, pleasant. Everything came in under budget. They were lovely to be around! I would definitely recommend them and hire them again. 5 out of 5 stars.
First of all they showed up late by close to two hours. One of their employees yelled and swore at my sister when she tried to direct him where to place the boxes, saying that he was already late as it was and he wanted to get home. This was so intense that my sister was crying for some time afterwards. I was given a verbal estimate of $600 over the phone; I said I had a piano and a one-bedroom apartment to move with three large items and boxes. When they came to drop my stuff off they said they had to charge me $1,000 instead because there was more than they expected. But in the end they charged me $1,000 plus a $150 deposit. I called to have the deposit refunded at least but this never happened. EDIT: I booked with this company on the Tuesday prior to the Sunday move. I would like to say as well that I don't like writing bad reviews but everytime I reached out for this company to make things right they preferred to accuse me of lying and continued to show their unprofessionalism in how they managed things instead.

Hands down solid people! Was quoted an ammount and was pretty close to the quoted ammount when came time to pay.. They were understanding when i needed to reschedule my move date and the job its self when very smoothly! Would highly reccommend to others needing a hand moving..theyre very careful with all belongings and nothing was broken!
DO NOT USE Good Old Boys. We booked them a month in advance, and confirmed day of. They called back minutes later, DAY OF THE MOVE, saying they wouldn't be showing up. They didnt try to help, just said too bad. Was told the company owner, Darion, would call us to talk it through. He never called. I'm taking this complaint to the BBB. Scummy business. Do Not Use Good Old Boys.
By far THE worst movers! One star is overly generous. I have moved many times all over the world and have never been as poorly quoted (cost over double what they quoted after they had our things in storage) and over 2 weeks late to deliver on the time they quoted. The men who packed our home left it wreaking of pot and took over 7 hours to pack a small kitchen. In total they took one full day longer than they said it would take them all while charging an hourly rate! They triple wrapped plastic lids whilst putting very expensive glassware unwrapped on the bottom of boxes which smashed. They "forgot" to label every single box (over 60) and rushed to unload boxes into garage where we had no idea what was to go where. I am still, months later, trying to pick off packing tape from pictures, stainless steel items etc whilst finding smashed and broken items. If they tell you "we don't need to come out to view what you have in order to give you an accurate quote" be prepared to pay much more than others companies who will take the time to quote accurately.
They were very nice and professional
The movers were strong, efficient, fast and friendly. They got the job done in the quoted time. No damage. This company provides excellent value. I would definitely use them again.
Highly NOT recommended. Made an already stressful move twice as bad: Promised non-smoking crews – did not deliver. Did not use floor protection in basement, and made a mess. Also damaged stairwell wall. Absolutely ridiculous disorganization at destination, where they decided they needed a shuttle truck, yet relied on trying to get a U-Haul at the last minute – in the middle of nowhere. Then they threatened to go back to the city, and not return again for a week. Fortunately, they hung around and finally got us moved in a few days later when a truck became available. Delivery crew ignored repeated instructions re where and how to put things, and also clear box labelling re "fragile" and "do not tilt/stack". Also, damaged an expensive musical instrument. Could've been worse. Should've been better. For a long-distance move. YOU'LL end up being the general contractor, first dealing with these guys, then another trucking company, then the receiving crew/company. No useful communication between these parties, which lead to unbelievable stress re packing date (there was no room for error here), delivery, handling, etc, etc... There was some skullduggery with the scale ticket – maybe innocent, maybe scam.
We were blown away by how quickly these guys moved. Gerret Devante and Alex did a wonderful job. They were super fast had a great sense of humor with my kids and were very very polite. I had never used a moving company before but I will definitely use these guys again. They even competed with another company to ensure we got the best value for our move. Super impressed with Gerret and Devante they worked there little tales off for sure!!!
Would definitely use again if need be. Amazing service, sweet and polite movers. They did an amazing job :)
Fantastic service! I've never had to use a moving company and they made the entire process seamless. The customer service was great, the price was reasonable and the movers were professional and took excellent care of our furniture. Thank you Nick and Darian!
Had Dan and Joe. Extremely helpful, saved a ton of time.
Horrible experience .. Did me a favour though I was able to get a cheaper and better service from another company !
I emailed the Good Old Boys to help me move from Preston to Galt in Cambridge. I talked to Nicole to set it up. She was nice & friendly. Thomas & Cam on the day of the move. They are great guys, I have a dining room set that’s been in my family for generations and they wrapped & handled everything with care. They were also quick and efficient they finished in under the time quoted. I will definitely recommend them and would hire them again.
Don't make an already stressful time worse. Pick another mover. However, if you do use them, expect to pay twice the quote. We got moved, but I wouldn't use them again nor would I ever recommend them. The actual movers who showed up were great. At no fault to them, it was the main office who took my move booking that made the headache. They over booked them that day, they were rushed, and they were not properly informed of the scope of our move (2 homes into 1), the truck was not big enough requiring multiple trips and as a result, we paid almost double the estimated cost. As well, 2 items were damaged and over TWO months later they are still reviewing the claim. Save yourself a headache and go for someone better reviewed and recommended. I only wish I had read reviews before booking them ... Not so Good Ol' Boys Moving ...
Top quality service, excellent movers, total superheroes!
The guys were amazing! They were careful with all my fragile stuff and padded and wrapped everything. Alex was very understanding, polite and reassuring. They worked efficiently and followed direction well. I would use them again for sure!
We had an excellent crew. They moved my parents and three weeks later they moved our family. Alex and his crew were hardworking, and came up with great suggestions to make the moving process move more smoothly. Nicole who booked us, was quick to respond. We had no issues. Very happy now in our new home! Thanks guys for all the heavy lifting!
Garret and Joe did an excellent move. Took time to wrap everything. Very professional. I would recommend them to anyone.
These guys call us 6 times while they’re suppose to be moving our things (someone was at our place we were at the new one) and they kept saying it’s gonna take longer than 5 hours after we took apart all our furniture and put all the boxes in one room making it as easy as possible for them then they just left without saying anything and did not answer any calls afterward absolutely nothing was done and we had to book new movers for the next day DO NOT USE THESE GUYS !!!!!!!!!
ETA: Response to business response- How do you not feel ashamed? We all know that Jamal did yell and curse at me. The only safety risk was when he thrust the stack to the floor. If there were a safety risk, the appropriate response would be "I'm sorry but I am concerned for your safety. Can you please move." But we all know there was no safety risk. The only people that have submitted reviews are me, my husband (who assisted you unloading), and my brother who was on the couch in the room. Dear Good Ol' Boys. I feel bad for you that two of the guys in your crew didn't show. I feel bad that you were booked so heavily that you had to be working so late in the day and just wanted to get home to your families. I understand your frustration. However; that does not give you rights to let that frustration out on me, your customer. Yesterday, my husband and I got a call my brother was in the hospital and so we drove up to facilitate his move for him. At 2pm I was waiting at the pickup site and called Ol' boys to confirm the time of arrival. Girl on phone said they'll be there between 2 and 4. She said she'd call back to confirm better estimate. She never did. We left a friend at the old apartment to meet them. At 4:08 I called back to inquire as to when they will arrive. Girl said they be there in 20 minutes at the very most and that the crew would call me to let me know they're almost there. 40 minutes later I call girl, no answer. Call again. No answer. My brother is cognizant at this point and so he calls. She answers and says she will find out when they'll be there. She never calls back. Brother calls again. No answer. And again with no answer. After 6 they show up at the old apartment and promptly call my brother demanding more money. This was all before even the worst of it. My brother was laid out on the couch with a massive concussion so I orchestrated them putting the items in various rooms of the apartment and I watched as several of them half hazardly scrapped objects against walls. ALL WITHOUT MASKS. Not before the end of they're first load coming into the apartment, I was asked who would be paying and a debit/credit machine was brought before me by the girl who I'd spoken to on the phone. At this point, I didn't trust their integrity and so I told her I would wait until the job was done. She said that she has to leave in ten minutes and it is very late. I said that is not my fault and I will wait until the job is done. Just a few moments later a man came in with the machine and told me to pay, to which I said not until the job is done. He then accused me by asking if I will even pay. I said that I would, I had the card in my pocket, ready for them. He asked if he could see it. I pulled it out of my pocket and showed him. He asked if he could have it. To which I said no. He was visibly annoyed. I still don't see why he would want to hold the card except to to forcibly make me pay before they were done. Things then went ok, I guess for a little while as I quickly directed them which room to put the items into. My husband and friend also bringing in loads. That was until one man came in with a stack of boxes on a cart. I said I can't see the labels and proceeded to attempt to pick up the top box to see which room it was to go to (though I've been trying to avoid lifting heavy things because of my injured back). The man then said "I don't care &$#@ where they go. I want to get home to my family." I responded by saying "It's not my fault that you guys came so late." He then proceeded to swear and shove the entire stack of boxes off the cart. I had to watch as my brothers things crashed to the floor. Between being accosted by the two other people and this man's intimidating behaviour, the exhaustion of a day that I was supposed to be at home resting my back, and the concern for my brother's health I broke. I ran into the bathroom crying until I could collect myself enough to pay them once the job was done. However; they dumped the last few items out in the parking lot and charged my brother's card that they had on file.
Amazing team - Alex and Ray moved us today and they were outstanding. They were friendly, professional, and very efficient! Our move was the easiest move ever and we’ve moved a lot!!! Thanks for making our move so easy - I recommend this company very highly!!
The guys worked promptly and professionally. Totally recommend them 100%.
These guys were awesome in helping me move during a very stressful situation. My basement apartment had flooded and I needed to get my stuff out as quickly as possible. Their pricing is fair and included storage which was a huge relief for me. I would definitely recommend them, the quote was accurate, no surprise fees despite what some other reviews say. Thanks again guys!
RIP OFF / SCAM ARTISTS!!! Save your money and some major hassle and DO NOT hire this company whatever you do!!! I did a lot of research and carefully chose Good Ol' Boys Moving Company for our move from out west to Ontario. After reading some reviews online and talking over the phone with Jesse, who assured me that the movers/labourers who worked for the company were locals and not dumb, dirty-for-hire contractors off the street .... We got the EXACT opposite. Unbeknownst to us, Good Ol' Boys actually sub-contracted out AMS for the move (a company I never would have hired based on the multitude of horrible reviews), and things kept going downhill from there. I don't even know where to begin, but here's a rundown of the issues we encountered: - When our stuff was delivered, as the dirty, dumbass labourers this time were even MORE careless and inexperienced. When the same leather couch was moved in, the labourers ignored my husband's instructions on how to angle in the sofa appropriately (again, these guys were completely friggin’ clueless) and they totally ignored him, slamming the couch into the wall and creating a large hole, leaving scuffs and tears on the sofa. As if this weren't enough damage, there was a large stain on the sofa that hadn't been there before that STANK to high heaven... Based on how stinky and sweaty the movers were, we can only assume it was from some kind of spill or from the dirty, sweaty blankets they used to cover our furniture with. - Where do they hire these labourers from?! The night before our stuff was scheduled to arrive, I get a call from dispatch asking me if I 'know anyone in the area who they could hire to help the driver unload.' Astounded, I said that's what I hire you guys for!! Clearly they just pick these guys up from wherever/whenever as they are dumb as nails, have no concept of how to appropriately and safely move furniture, etc. We watched them roll a dresser packed with stuff, head over end, out of the truck ... Who does that?! What’s even worse, they just laughed after driving our couch into the wall and creating a large hole. SO unprofessional and inconsiderate. - I advised both Jesse from Good Ol' Boys and my contact with AMS about the damage done to the couch and that I wanted to open a claim. After following all the instructions and attaching several photos (and having to follow up a couple times through phone/email as I never got a response initially), I received a letter in the mail letting me know that because of the $0.60 per pound of insurance they offered, the value of the 300-lb couch was $61, and because of their $300 deductible policy, my balance was therefore 'zero.' I had known about the $0.60 per pound / $300 deductible insurance policy when I booked the move, however misunderstood the exact parameters. I had assumed that that insurance coverage would be good up until the total amount of your move (i.e.) our 3500-lb move would equal approximately $2100 maximum coverage. Instead, the letter indicated that as the couch weighed only 300 lbs. that's how they determined it's value as $61. Even if we had purchased additional insurance, as that's an option you are advised of, why bother as you're pretty much paying to replace a damaged item yourself then, and taking a chance as you don't know what will be damaged and how?! It’s completely and utterly ludicrous and a RIP OFF. This was a genuine leather, not bonded, couch that was originally purchased for over $2000, and instead of reliable moving service we were presented with as stupid as you could imagine, inconsiderate guys who mocked and made fun of the significant damage they caused … And a letter in the mail saying the value of our couch was ‘$61’ - but we wouldn’t even be getting that pocket change back because of how they rig their policies. I CANNOT say enough how much we regretted booking with these guys … Please don’t make the same mistake. Moving is stressful enough without adding more needlessly.
The guys arrived an hour and 20 minutes late although it was raining so I can take into account the weather as it also started to snow shortly before they arrived to drop off at our new home. They were very quick to load and unload our stuff. We paid less than we were quoted as all we wanted put upstairs was the furniture for the bedrooms...the bins and boxes were to be left in the living room. So I give 5 stars to the guys that handled moving our stuff but as for communication from who we booked with, well I'd rate that as a 3. You will receive no confirmation a week or even a couple days before your move, causing you to panic a little. It's already a stressful day with moving on your closing day, I would have hoped for more communication. When I called, I had to leave a message and when we got a callback, there was some attitude telling me that he had told me that when they finished up with the move before us, he would be able to tell me. But when I had called 2 weeks prior, there was no move before us, so I'm not sure how he felt he told me this. When I spoke with him the day of the move, thr movers were to be at our home between 2 and 5 and when I called I wanted just a possible estimate of a timeframe, he said it would be closer to 430 or 5...he told me this at 230, I heard nothing after that until the driver called me and told me he was going to be 45 to an 1 late. I'm glad this move is done.
I would definitely recommend this company ! I hired them to move me from Hamilton to Port Rowan in June/20 and the price was competitive, the movers were friendly and very careful with my belongings. They were efficient and very pleasant to deal with. Jesse was also great to deal with for the booking. Overall very pleased with their services.
Terrible experience. Long-distance moving department head (won't mentionned name), the guy that give you the quote, was very good at selling the move. I only had terible experience then onwards. The main issue is that Good Ol’Boy is not moving you (for the long distance one anyway). For a long-distance move, it is awful. That company won't move you. They sell you the move then they give it to different moving companies contractors. It took two to get to me. New set of rules with each company and set of fees that I wasn’t expecting. Also, Good Ol’Boy was never forwards with me letting me know that it would be contracted out to different companies. I guess one could have a good experience, but Good Ol’Boy takes no responsibility in insuring proper service, so it is a bit of a matter of luck. You'll end up being the one trying to manoeuvre all this: 1) First dealing with the selling guys - they tell you a date that would work for pickup in order to get your stuff on time... (the date you need it). I was welling for them to pick it up earlier.... they said it wouldn’t be necessary. I got my stuff 3 weeks later than expected. 2) Then another moving company will come to your house and all of the sudden rules changes, these guys charge me for using the elevator to get one floor up (which I already had paid 150$ to block and reserve so it can only be used by myself on that day), Then they charged me for shuttling my stuff to a different truck (they could have come with the big truck in the first place...as they a different company did 10 months prior when they moved me there). Those are all extra fees. 3)Then they are late in delivery time, but as per their contract they can delivier to you within 1 month... but you were given a different ETA by the prior company, but no commuinications between them. I had to rent an AirBnB for 3 extra weeks. 4) Then finally, the receiving crew/company, which deliver to you but all of the sudden that company don't accept credit card, but the first one did... An interprovincial move is costly, I was expecting the same method of payment to work, but as mentioned, different companies, different rules. 5) My boxes were destroyed, a few items broken. Some stuff I would expect, not my first long distance move, but this much ? I was shocked. And again, the guys just told me the box were like this when they pick it up from the other companies. Hard to tel who’s fault it is...and Good Ol’Boy won’t be there for you. I would not recommend that company. even if they quote you less, it's always more in the end. I would either go with a bigger more reliable company or deal straight with the movers, the actual guys coming to the house...without Good Ol'Boys.
They were over a half hour late, took their time, my daughter's and I did most of the work and double charged me from the quote. Had no appliances to move. Moved two blocks over, two bedroom sets and boxes as the rest of my furniture I bought and delivered later. I was charged over $800 local move in Brantford...the last item they kept on the Truck was my screen tv which they held until payment was made...that's how they operate...very appalling. They're not professionals but charge outrageous prices. Dishonest from the quote they gave me as I had a lot less to have moved. They're definately not "Good 'ol boys" at all. They suck! Don't waste your time calling and your money...there are other far better movers who won't take advantage of you and gouge you! I should have called the BBB on them. Word of mouth will ruin them eventually.
I recently hired Good Ol' Boys Moving to bring a number of items from Ontario to British Columbia. Jesse was nothing short of amazing when it came to accommodating my very short timeline, as I was in Ontario for only a couple days. My items arrive two weeks earlier than anticipated (yay!). What I loved the most is that I would email Jesse and he would pick up the phone and call me back nearly immediately. I felt as though my worries about moving my personal items across the country were completely put at ease. All of my questions were answered. The price was fair. There were no extra charges. Everything was just as I was told it would be, if not, better. Jesse - I cannot thank you enough for being do damn amazing. You are a friendly, accommodating, professional, and just a genuinely nice guy. Thank you times a million!
Justin, Peng, Fulla did a great job. They were great at being very carefull with our delicate items. They work great as a team.
Used Good 'ol Boys for my move from SK to southern Ontario at the end of summer 2017. I was told to give them a three-day window for pick up, and my belongings would arrive at the destination within 14 business days. Being the supposed best situation I found, I chose them and was okay paying close to $850 for my one bedroom (a total of 10 boxed, desk, dresser and chest) worth of belongings. I was told that they would tell me the exact pick up and delivery days no less then 4 business days before my 3 day window. I had to harass them to get this only to be told my belongings would be picked up two days late and would take 3+ weeks to arrive (no exact day was given). Luckily my dad was still going to be around because I was already going to be gone at that point. When I spoke to Jessie to complain (it took some time to get to him) he then blamed me and said that he never promised any of this. Checking my paperwork says otherwise. Luckily the movers themselves were nice, careful, respectful, and efficient, which it the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. Not worth any of the hassle. Go with a bigger, more reputable company. This is not a local business worth supporting.
I booked with “Kitchener Moving Service” but when I got the quote I found they are Good Ol Boys Moving. I was given a time frame of arrival to unload a storage pod in my driveway of 2 - 4. At 4:11 when I they had not arrived or I heard from anyone I texted who set up the move. I still not did hear back. At 4:40 I texted asking if this company was a scam and if I needed to find someone else. Finally after that text I got a reply at 4:42. At 4:49 I was told they would be here in 25-30 minutes. They did not arrive until 5:50. They were not careful and dumped a toy basket on the ground outside and in storage pod, which I had to clean up after they left. They scratched the wall with my one couch. They came and worked for 1.5 hours and charged me for 4. After email and texting twice I finally got an invoice 2 days later.
I am currently an employee of Good Ol' Boys Moving. I don't usually write reviews about my Employers, unless I feel it's necesassary. I must say, I have worked for other moving companies. And have never been with one as professional, and courteous as this. Good Ol' Boys Moving, goes above and beyond to EXCEED customer's expectations. Since the change in ownership, the current owner has done everything possible to keep the customer/employees, and everyone around him happy. From packing, wrapping, to loading/offloading the trucks. Everyone is trained on proper techniques, to ensure the safe delivery of your items. The trucks are all new, and well maintained to assure safe delivery as well. Equiptment is always replaced as needed, And employees are always encouraged to learn more. I can tell current ownership is striving towards success, as there is always a need to exceed customer expectation, and a general empathy for your valued possessions. I would highly recommend you book your move with us, you would not be disappointed.
Raymond scares me and impresses me at the same time, 10/10 would move again
My wife and I were helping my brother in law move to another part of Cambridge. They showed up a little over 2 hours late (were supposed to be there at 4 pm by the latest and were at the 1st site by just after 6pm). They stopped answering calls all together because we were looking to actually move. They were asking for payment as soon as they arrived at the new apartment. We said not until the truck is unloaded into the apartment and they then asked 3 more times. They also asked if we are going to pay, we were then asked to hand over a credit card by one man with a machine in his hands. It was okay for a while then one loader dropped a bunch of boxes off a cart because my wife asked to check the labels on them. F bombing his way out of the building about his job. I feel bad for the crew because I know that the situation was due to some guys not showing up for work and falling behind. Generally I know this to be symptoms of poor management. It is still unacceptable behavior to take out frustrations on a client. Last thing was before we could pay them they dropped the last few items out in the rain and left. I really do wish the individuals of the crew the best but hope they find more respectful employment. 0/5
Such an Amazing Company
I have used these guys two times in the last 6 months and both times i have had no problems. yes there is a cost but on both occasions i had my boxes in general areas future wrapped . Moves were smooth service is good. just make sure you always prepare your move for your movers will be smoother and less costly that way
Alex and Ray were the real deal - Movers! When these Good Ol’ Boys showed up on time, they had us sign some paperwork and informed us “To sit back and watch how the professionals do it”. They wrapped every piece of furniture carefully, moved from our storage locker to our current residence and then loaded the truck to our new destination: all done within budget and with helpful reminders based on their experience. Lightbulbs were removed from lamps, glass items double wrapped and promptly delivered for a smooth on-time Moving Day. Thanks Alex and Ray! We heartily recommend this pair of Good Ol’ Boys (Sharon and Dennis Mercier - Woodstock, ON - July 4, 2018).
Very professional, efficient, cheap, careful, and the guys are really funny :D they made our moving experience just fun! they are as their name, Good Boys!
Highly Recommended
- NOT COVID COMPLIANT - Refused to wear masks, despite moving for seniors - Did not come with their own supply of masks, had to be supplied by us - Once inside home, team removed their masks and did not wear them again for the rest of the day. - One team member refused to wear mask and used old bandana instead of proper face coverings despite being supplied with proper mask. - Did not socially distance. - Showed up 3 hours late causing major difficulties with house closing - Complained that one of their members had covid causing lateness - Did not use appropriate amount of floor runners causing mud and messy floors after moving - Walking on white carpets without footwear protection - Unfriendly staff creating uncomfortable experience for family - Showed up late and then wanted to leave before truck was unloaded at new house, offering to have us pay to have truck stay overnight and have it unloaded the next day.
I will generously give this company 1 star. I called Good ol Boys Moving and spoke to Jesse. Informed him my mother and I were moving and we were only going to need the heavy furniture pieces moved, no bins or boxes. We were trying to make it as inexpensive as possible. Quoted $129 per hour, 2 guys. Gave $129 deposit. Mentioned several times about only probably being 2 hours to load and unload. Moving 5 minutes away. Went to pay at end and told $499. I'm shocked. I got a little upset. Driver (who was really nice), told me it's in the contract about a 3 hr minimum. I said I never received a contract and would not it have been the best time for Jesse to mention 3 hr min when I kept saying only take 2 hrs. scam scam scam. And it was Grand River Moving that showed up. Multi company I'm guessing. Did not appreciate being taken advantage of and that's exactly what it was. Jesse should be ashamed of himself. Very deceptive. Had I know about the 3 hr min I would have had them take a lot of bins and boxes I have been moving in my car. Only saving grace for this company was the two movers. They were friendly, funny and efficient. Unfortunately when the boss is deceptive it will reflect on the whole company. Should be ashamed of himself. In future he should be sending a contract by email or fax if possible so the client gets the full knowledge of what is going on. Not at the end when you cough up the cash. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD
Thank you to Fulla, Ray, and Dave for the amazing experience on my move yesterday. So much fun to work with and they work so well together I couldn't believe how quickly they got the job done. Thanks so much again guys, will definitely use for our future office moves
These guys went above and beyond with our move. We had heavy, high end pieces - large BBQ smoker, 8ft long stove, and many more pieces I was worried about to say the least. These guys all had tremendous attitudes and were extremely well prepared coming into our home. Everything was moved efficiently and without damage to a single item. Kudos to these workers, during times like these especially I was not exactly expecting such an incredible job to be done. Definitely recommended by us :)!!
Very profesional movers. Darjan and Alex were very quick and extremely polite in this move. Company is lucky to have these 2 men in their employ. Thank you again Darjan and Alex.
I just moved 2 days ago and used this company. I must say that I was pretty hesitant in using a moving company based on the different comments I have seen on the internet about other movers. Let me just say that I was pleasantly surprised. I had 3 guys come to help with the move. They were on time and went straight to work. They were friendly, very efficient, and took care of all my belongings. It was extremely hot that day and they did not complain nor slow down. They even finished well before the estimated time which in turn was less money for me!. I definitely had a great experience and would recommend Good Ol'Boys Moving. *side note .. it def did not hurt that the "boys" were easy on the eyes ;)
Had a big move 2 hours away - the guys were great - can't believe how easily they could move big furniture and heavy items like they were nothing. Alex, Jerome, Luis and David were awesome!
I moved one month ago with this company and I was very pleased with there service. I'm a senior I was so worried about moving but Jeff and Raymond took everything in their hands . they didn't foul around and the move was made even in less time then I expected. Thank you again. Lena
We couldn't be happier with our move. Nick, Steve and Chad were fantastic - they were right on time and worked incredibly hard all day long. Nick is a Tetris Master! Watching him arrange boxes and odd materials to maximize the space in the truck was a thing to see! All three of them were very professional, courteous and I cannot emphasize how hard working. On another note, John was almost right on par with the quote for our move and was very helpful offering insight on how we could save some time (aka money) on the move on having items ready in a specific manner. We will be highly recommending Good Ol' Boys Moving to anyone requiring a moving company in the future.
The guys were just so friendly and well-prepared. I really appreciated the great work. Our move went very very smoothly and I would recommend Good ol Boys to anyone.
DO NOT, under any circumstances book this company for your move. I contracted them to unload my "Big Steel Box" which had been deposited in my driveway by another company. Two men arrived on the date scheduled and spent 70 mins unloading. One of them then produced a bill which I signed in good faith and they left. I then discovered that they had left about thirty heavy boxes in the container which my wife and I were forced to move. I paid a total of $628.28 for 70 minutes of their time.
The team of Garret, Alex and Devante were great guys that were efficient, polite and worked with purpose! I can't believe how well they pack a truck and that they took great care in ensuring my future was well wrapped and taken care of correctly! The offload had challenges to get stuff both upstairs and down yet they remained patient and knew just how to manipulate the material to get them in with out any damage to the home or my furniture. Great job, long day and great personalities! Thanks!
I wish there was a way to give zero stars!!!! Only hire this people if you hate yourself!!!!! Don't fall for their sweet talk, especially Jesse, their so called "sales manager" The worst person to deal with! ! ! ! I unfortunately believed in him and all his lies! I had people smelling alcohol coming to my house to pick up my things, but because I had a plain to catch, I could not turn them around, otherwise I would've had. Not only did they rushed to pick up everything, they also broke items and my things took a month to reach destination, when it should've taken only a week, according to Jesse's lies over the phone. You have been warned! if you hire this awful company, that also goes by the name of "The Joy of Moving" expect to have many nights without sleep, lot's of headaches and endless phone calls to get nowhere! If you get lucky, you will eventually get your things delivered, but be prepared to have missing and broken items. Bottom line, run away from this people! especially if Jesse is the one that you are dealing with!
Jesse put together the impossible move from one province to another in record time. Price, service and travel time were all exceptional. Super responsive and friendly folks. Highly recommend!
Would never recommend this company. Booked an appointment for them to come and give me a quote. They never showed up. I called the company and they said they would contact John to find out where he was. A few minutes later he called and apologized stating the appointment did not make it into his calender. Rebooked the appointment for later that day after work since I had already missed a couple hours of work for this. He once again did not show up. No phone call or text to let me know. I received a text later the next morning apologizing for not showing up due to personal circumstances. Never did receive another message back as to when it could be Rebooked again. Hired a different mover as they obviously are not competent enough to deal with quotes let alone moves.
Terrrible service. They took far longer than quoted, caused damage and overcharged. A one star is too good.
great experience. honest and on time. thanks again!!!
Great company, the office staff is incredible and they were extremely accommodating when it came to switching my move date a couple of times and adding a day for packing as I was not exactly prepared due to the circumstance I was in. The two guys, Joe and Dan packed my stuff and did a great job - not one thing was damaged. The move that happened the next day went very smoothly, and the price was almost exactly what I was quoted by Jesse over the phone. The girl in the office was so helpful and knowledgeable which minimized my stress immensely. I can not say enough good things about this company, but if you are looking for reasonably priced, professional service, I highly recommend calling this company. thank you so much good ol boy’s team.
They were late coming which made for a longer day than I thought . The workers were pleasant. The price was very good.
These people deserve 10 stars!! You will not find kinder a bunch. We have used them twice in the last month to move two households more than two and a half hours away. They are with you until the job is completely done. They go above and beyond and always have a smile no matter what they are moving :) They all left with an open invitation to return whenever they are near! DO NOT HESITATE TO HIRE THESE AMAZING PEOPLE!! Thanks again so much to all of you xo
Excellent service and friendly staff. Would recommend this service to everyone.
Very happy with the Good Ol' Boys Moving team. They did a tremendous job for us on Friday Nov 8/19.All three men worked as a team loading and unloading all our furniture, appliances and belongings in a timely and efficient manner.I would recommend them to family and friends for sure.John & Marion (Williamsford On.)
Great mover great work done
These people were great. VERY friendly and efficient. Price was great. CERTAINLY would use them again. Thanks guys.
Great job. There was suppose to be three guys since we moved from a third floor, but only two guys arrived. The two guy we had was Darian and Alex they worked hard and took care with furniture. Would use again and recommend to friends.
1 star is way too much if there was a minus I would use it. Booked these guys with Nicole who was fantastic at the time of booking and confirmation. We had 2 locations for pick up the first was a bed a dresser and a cabinet. The second was a townhouse that everything was packed taken apart and put into the living room all they had to do was load the truck and unload. The day of these guys show up to the first location LATE then they call me and say “ based on what we see this move will take 8 hours” ( I was quoted 5) I said “ I don’t think so, everything is done for you at the second location) the guy confirms what they are packing and gets off the phone. 10 min later he calls again and we have the EXACT same conversation! I said “ you haven’t been to the second location to see what you are moving so when you get there we will talk but if we go over 5 hours we will pay you” guys says ok and the conversation ends. 10 minutes later he calls again with the exact same conversation ( at this point I am getting frustrated with him because I’m paying by the hour and they were already later and now wasting time calling me repeatedly). Same conversation and it ends again. Then he calls again and I miss the call because I am talking to the internet tech that is at my new location setting up. I call the mover back and ask “what’s up” the guy says the EXACT SAME THINGS AGAIN! At this point I am really frustrated and I ask “why they are not moving anything “ he says well when you don’t answer our call! I tell him I am paying by the hour start moving stuff ! He then says I can’t until you sign a form and I then say frustrated “ why didn’t you say the 45 minutes ago when you called me the 1st 2nd &3rd time? He tells me not to “talk to him that way” and he hangs up and left the job would not answer my call after and there office still has not returned my call. They have my deposit still. When I asked the person at our first pick up location what happened he said “ 3 guys showed up looking high or drunk or both came in the room to be moved looked around said they would be back and went and sat in the truck for almost an hour before leaving altogether” DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY !!
It does not matter how organized you think you are; moving is always stressful. However; we booked with GoodOlBoys Moving, Cambridge and from first contact with Jesse to the last item unloaded at the end of a long day, it was a professional and stress free experience. The three - man crew Alex, Garret and Joe were polite, professional and very caring with all contents loaded and unloaded. Their positive attitude and high energy didn't change from 9:00 am until they finally unloaded at 7:30 pm + they had another 2.5 hour drive to finish their day. Highly recommended!
Great experience for the second time. Requested Nick and Chad again and received wonderful caring service. I had no doubts we would be looked after. Quotes are provided based on what information the consumer provides. I listed my items the first time and was within $20. I will continue to use their services.
TERRIBLE SERVICE***.WORST EXPERIENCE EVER..JESSE THE CON MAN. ALL LIES.moat furniture had.major damage...READY TO PROCEED WITH COURT DUE TO PATHETIC 35$ OFFER TO REPLACE BIG TV AND BROKEN FURN...they are con men. price went way up after loading due to supposed wieght and more fees etc..loaders smelt like alcohol when they arrived... horrible expensive experience...***And they write there own good reviews. STAY AWAY.
Professional scammers. They quoted a price ahead of their visit, loaded up their truck with all my furniture and posessions and then doubled the originally quoted price. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY CHEAP QUOTES... THEY ARE A LIE... YOU WILL PAY FOR IT LATER.
I have been using Good ol boys for close to 8 yrs now and at least 10 moves ! for business office and personal. I dealt w 3 different pairs of guys who have always treated me like a valued customer. Each move was professional and efficent and never any damage to best of my knowledge. The most recent experiance was june 29 2020 an office and warehouse equipment move ! Thanks to Steve and Ray. You guys are great. Cheers and keep up the good work. Mike
I cannot convey how poor the level of service I experienced with Good Ol Boys was Sept 2015 I hired Good O Boys to move me. Huge mistake.!!! After they acknowledged damaged items and lost items and a promise to put through a claim they now refuse to communicate with me either by email or phone. It has been over a year and thus far they have chosen to simply ignore me in spite of false promises to settle my claim. Stay tuned as I post more details as I walk thru a blog on suing the company . Armed with false promises, lost items and terrible customer service I plan to post how the suing of this company goes. Everyone needs to know how delinquent this company is and to avoid them!!!
The crew was on time and handled everything with care. No damages and I paid less than what they quoted me. Thank you thank you thank you good old boys
Darian & Alex came the morning after I phoned to inquire about having a large & heavy stove moved. They were friendly, knew their job & had the job done quickly. I highly recommend them for anyone's moving job.
DO NOT HIRE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!! CALLED BBB AND CONSUMER PROTECTION - They don't deserve a single star but can't post review without giving at least one! Obviously the positive reviews are from office management and/or their affiliates... these people gauge you with your money. I booked and reserved a move on October 27, 2016 for 9am and paid $139.00 for deposit... When I spoke with Tiffany over the phone about the estimate after explaining the details : 2 bdrm apartment... no appliances and no living room furniture.. only 46 boxes two mattresses in plastic.. two headboards bubble wrapped... (4) small end tables bubble wrapped and a screen tv bubble wrapped... my quote was $513.00 minus the deposit at the end of the move, over the phone with tiffany as I could not sign into my email for my estimate so we did it over the phone. My two daughter's helped me move the stuff into the hallway... at 9:10 I get a call from Andrew saying they will be late arriving due to weather... (drizzle rain).. half hour later they arrived and during the move they were slow as they were milking it as they were getting paid by the hour... (3) boxes they dropped trying to carry too many piled on top of each other. They pulled off (3) of the legs from my daughter's bed. They were pulled right out of the wood slats. Her bed is a queen Bombay 4-poster canopy. ... 4 hours later Andrew says there's one more item, my screen tv left on the truck as he stood there with his clip board and I said ok and he said well you have to pay up first before we unload it. The bill totalled $849.00 !!! I called the office... of course Tiffany was not available and so I was told that was in the estimate I got in my email... I explained I did not have my internet as it was disconnected and so Tiffany had said giving me an estimate over the phone would be fine. I was told nothing they could do. So I paid it. And I paid enough for a mortgage!! The entire company are cons and they should be known as "Good Ol boys Gauging your A$$. What if this was a pensioner? Gawd forbid if I had came from a house with furniture and appliances... what would it had cost me then??? They move turtle slow and while you hustle and work harder then they are. They stand around and take extra breaks while they watch you carry out boxes on your time!!! Save your money... find a mover for a flat rate or pay for a Uhaul truck and hire some guys for $20/hr and you'll be much further ahead then with Good Ol Boys Scammers!!!!
Both Justin and Alex were excellent movers for us. They were very polite, respectful and professional. They were very careful in movement of all our furniture and personal properties, ensuring no damage to the house and the property being moved. I would definitely recommend this moving company, in particular Justin and Alex.
Excellent experience with my long distance move. They patiently answered all my questions and everything was delivered on time for less than the quoted price
Friendly respectful crew of 2 the move went very well. They were careful with our items and moved things quickly
Great guys great service !! Awesome personalities and really worked with us to put stuff wherever we needed. Would use again :)
I used them years ago and they were horrible. Quoted the move which then charged me more money in order to move my furniture. Left several items back at the old location and wanted more money to go back again. I tried to speak with the manager who then told me it was my fault for accumulating too many belongings over the years. .and don't forget...you pay for their 25 smoke breaks.
Awesome movers 2 thumbs up :-)
They are amazing from take down to set up nothing but professionals. Thanks guys for all your amazing work
Well let me say this was a huge disappointment. Grand River, Good Ol Boys or whatever company shows up at your door, their "Professional Estimator' is terrible. Boasting to us that he was one of a dying breed, he was off his estimate by a full 16 foot truck! That's correct, they had to bring an entire truck to fit in what would not fit in the one they sent. Their staff told us this happens all the time,...in other words, a great price with the quote only to be charged another 800 bucks in the middle of the move. It was pay up or we don't send the extra truck or we can come back 5 days later, those were the choices. Avoid these guys at all costs. I would give them a zero but it wasn't an option. Good thing that the lads doing the work had their act together.
This was such a pleasant experience from booking the date to watching the men and truck leave at finish of move. VERY friendly and professional giving us immediate confidence and a job well done with consideration and care.
I must say I have never had a move go as well as my most recent move with this company. The guys were on time, professional, and extremely careful with all of my stuff. I can't thank Good Ol Boys enough for making this easily the most stress free experience I've had with moving.
These guys are amazing! They moved us on Dec 15th, which was an extremely bitter cold day with wind chills hitting into the -21 range. These guys never stopped - through the shearing cold they were work horses. They never complained. I would highly recommend Good Ol Boys Moving. Dealing with the office as well as Ray and Alex, the two great guys that moved us, were professional, and their administrative staff were very quick with any responses (via email). 2 Thumbs up for these guys!!
Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Toronto hired Good ol Boys in November of this year, we also used them approx: 13 yrs ago and I can tell you that the service then and now is by far the best experience in moving..the guys Nick, Alex and Ray were respectful of the fact they were moving Religious Nuns, took care of their every need and ensured that everything was put in place at their new residence. Simply the best!! recommend over and over again..
I hired this moving company a few years ago. I had a one bedroom apartment, and it cost me around $1,200 to move 10 km. I was told a different quote obviously, so when it came to paying, they held my couch set until I paid the full amount. The 2 guys that showed up were very lazy, and were smoking marijuana and drinking beer. I couldn't believe it. I don't know how this company is still operating. I heard they also go under the name 5 Star Moving, so be careful!
Peng, Alex and Falla were such a great team to move all of our large and heavy furniture. This team is extremely professional. We were very pleased with their service. We highly recommend Good Ol Boys Moving, especially this team. Very reasonable rate...
Professional team of amazing individuals. Nicole was so pleasant to communicate with, and extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. Also special thank you to Thomas, Peng, and Lum for doing such a great job with the move. I will definitely recommend you guys to anyone I know looking for a great moving experience.
Outstanding service. Would highly recommend.
These guys moved us abs we are very satisfied with how everythi ng went
My father in law contracted this company for a move. He communicated with Nicole. Date and time set, deposit paid. They did not show up on the day of the move at 9 am as agreed and no one called to advise that they were not coming. After reaching out to them starting at 10 am we were finally advised by Jesse around 10:30 that a truck broke down and "circumstances" happen and Covid is a thing. No solition offered. Jesse advised he would get back to us and did not. He was very rude and unprofessional. Connected with Nicole and were advised it was her day off, however, she did assist. After much follow up on our part, back and forth and many hours, Nicole finally confirmed at 6 pm the move for the following morning at 9-9:30 am. Once again, no show at the time confirmed 9-9:30 am. Once again, no communication from them. We reached out to get an update at 10 am. No answer on any of the numbers supplied. Finally after calling additional numbers Jesse answered. Very rude individual and very unprofessional in the handling of this issue, just unprofessional all round. No reason given for missing the move time. Nicole was ultimatly the one that communicated and got the move back on track. Kudos to her! The movers finally showed up at 1 pm with a truck marked Grand River Movers and completed the move. They were good. Bottom line, I would not use this company again. Jesse is extremely unprofessional. No communication unless you literally chase after them constantly. Nicole was the only one who ultimatly assisted in getting this back on track, although a day and many hours late. The movers were good and did their job, but not worth the headache to get there.
Would definitely use again if need be. Amazing service, sweet and polite movers we had ray and Alex and They did an amazing job :)
Made arrangements for someone from good ol boys to come to my house to provide a quote - they never showed up. I called and left a voice mail to confirm if he was coming because he was already a half hour late, but never heard from him. If this is an indication of how they'll conduct business on moving day, I'll take my money elsewhere.
We went crazy looking up different moving companies/reading reviews/getting crazy quotes (high and low). This was a stressful move for us because we were planning a long distance move to a different province. We were just about to give up when Jesse from Good Ol' Boys came to our house to give us an in home estimate for our move. Jesse was professional and very friendly, and expressed how much he valued us as potential clients. He took the time needed to answer all of our questions and concerns and was always reassuring us that our move would be no problem for them. He was able to give us a very competitive flat rate quote based on everything that we had. The price was for one team and one truck to do all the work for us, and the price never changed. We gave a refundable deposit up front to secure the date of our move. Moving day came and it went like clockwork. A bunch of really nice guys showed up and started to load all of our stuff. Everything as tagged and numbered. All items that were not wrapped were wrapped in blankets. All large furniture items that could be taken apart were taken apart and wrapped. Our mattresses were all placed in mattress bags. They were all very friendly and professional and kept good spirits by chatting with us, and cracking jokes here and there to make the stressful time a little easier. Once the truck was loaded, they left for the 15 hour drive. There were only two guys that made the trip in the truck and they were to get local guys on the other end to help out. The only problem was that they were only able to get one extra guy to help unload on the Sunday morning. So there were only 3 guys unloading our truck, and the driver was doing the best he could while being in a lot of pain. They were still in good spirits and unwrapped everything for us, and placed them were they were supposed to go. They also reassembled all the furniture items that were taken apart. You could tell with the small workforce that they were getting exhausted quickly. We had drinks and snacks for them and made sure that they took breaks, but they just wanted to get the work done. The job took a little longer, and towards the end they just started piling boxes in the garage instead of placing them elsewhere. One item had small damage to it which they brought to our attention right away. Overall the guys were FANTASTIC, and we were very pleased with the work that they did. We would hire them again, as well as recommend them to anyone else. The only thing we were not happy with was the lack of help at the other end. Even one more person would have made it much smoother. However as far as moves could go? We were very happy with the service that we received!!
Was very impressed with the service provided by Good ol Boys. Highly recommended!
Excellent service. Both guys worked extremely hard. Nothing was broke, very professional. I would recommend this company to anyone that is moving. Thanks guys.
Great guy's. Job was done right.
Had a great move. Alex and Rob were both very friendly, hard working and careful. Nothing was broken or scratched. Good work! Tiffany was right on in her estimate of cost.
This is the second time we have used Good Ole boys and a recommendation for a friend. Everytime we have an nothing but professional ,courteous service and we would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Jesse and today's employees ,Alex and Dan.
This is my first time using a moving company. I booked with Nicole via email. She was great. I had sent out quote requests to 8 companies and only two responded. The movers Jerome and Fuller were great. They wrapped all my furniture and were very careful moving it. They were very efficient and polite. I was very pleased with them and I would definitely use this company again. I will recommend them for dure
These guys have moved us twice now and both times they have exceeded my wife and I’s expectations. Nicole from the office is a pleasure to talk to and always so helpful. Lum, Clayton, and Ray worked hard, efficiently, and made sure our stuff was properly cared for by padding all of our furniture. They are polite, professional, and the best moving company we have ever used. Companies in the past have lied about fees and charged us more in the end, but these guys are always honest about everything upfront. We can’t say enough good things about this company. Clearly highly recommended!!
"I had the greatest experience with Good Ol' boys Moving, they took care of my belongings and ensured everything was moved safely. Ray and Alex did a great job and I would highly recommend this company!
This moving company saved us! Our other movers canceled on us 30 minutes prior to our move, and these guys swooped in to the rescue! They were available on site within 15 minutes and got the job done in record time. Very friendly and great customer service. I have now used them twice for a commercial move and would highly recommend. Thank you Good Ol' Boys!
