We used Bronte for our move in July and we were extremely pleased with Bronte Movers and quite happy we went with this company. For our last move we went with one of the large, popular moving companies and that was a terrible experience of tardiness, slow moving workers, unfriendly workers, and given the time it took, the extra cost that came with 'overtime.' Bronte Movers were the exact opposite. It was a 4-man crew and they were fast. These guys were strong and moved quickly and barely took a break ( I actually don't know how they did that) in the scorching heat of late July. They also moved a piano with ease (at least it looked like it) and that was an added bonus because that saved me from having to use a separate company for that. This company offers top quality service at an affordable price and if we ever move again I'll call them but if you're moving and looking for a trusted, competent company to help you, go with Bronte Movers.

The guys who came for our move were amazing to say the least, they not only were so fast but also managed to get our furniture set up in rooms taking them up and down difficult stairs and corners. Scam artists. Tried to charge 45 minutes for a drive from Appleby line to 3rd line. It's an 11 minute drive. Then wouldn't move a treadmill but charged us 1.5 hours and $80. The manager couldn't have cared less when I called to complain. Don't waste your money on these people.

Excellent experience from beginning to end! Scheduling the moving details with Veronica over the phone was quite streamlined. I was expecting the move to take a full day, but was surprised it only took 5 and a half hours. Tyler, Vern, and Steve were friendly, on time, and quickly loaded the truck on a busy street earlier on moving day. We just completed our move and I wanted to make a point of sharing how amazing All-Rite Movers are here in Oakville as opposed to Bronte Movers. When beginning our planning, I initially called Bronte Movers as they are consistently recommended and, my God what a disaster! Their quote guy arrived an hour before our scheduled time as it was more convenient for him, asked me to “clear a space at our table so he could sit down comfortably” and then quoted us over $300++ per hour as we “had many boxes”. I immediately called All-Rite Movers, completely different vibe, super nice, excellent customer service. 3 men helped us day of and they went about and beyond and were just amazing to work with. The plus, the cost was $2,500! less than Bronte Movers. You’ve had the top spot for awhile now and need to reevaluate both your pricing and whom you send out to complete your quotes. I highly recommend All-Rite Movers in Oakville and NOT Bronte Movers.

UPDATE: This matter was resolved on September 20. We moved in February so it's taken over 4 months to get to here. To keep things relatively short here's the timeline. Pre move – very professional. On the day – Boy! Those guys worked! No complaints. But 3 items got broken, one we can't replace, and fridge got badly scratched. Not a great result but these things happen I guess. We were told in such an event we should call straight away. We did. And here's the one star comes in. Post Move – zero after sales / customer service. Photos of damages sent twice. Numerous calls and texts. Eventually a representative came to inspect, promising to call back and make good. I have followed up but now no reply. Two last points – 1. We paid $160 insurance. 2. Bill was 18% over estimate.

We moved recently after being in our home for 25 years. We hired Bronte Movers and it was the best decision we made. The company is so well run and organized. This was a very large move. 5 guys came and were the absolute move amazing people. They were fast but so very careful with our stuff. There were a few "odd" pieces that required special care and they knew just how to handle them. They were polite and somethin you don't see much of, they were happy doing the job, friendly and really got along. They were extremely detailed in every way. I will definitely have Bronte Movers move my furniture when we find a new home. They are currently storing everything for us.

Our 65” TV was damaged during our move and when we asked them to cover it under the insurance, they said electronics were not covered under the insurance we paid for. This would have being great to know the day we signed the contract, as we would have paid for them to pack it. We did use their packing service for breakables anyway, so that would have being great to know what insurance covers and does not covers at that time. Versus knowing until the day you move, which is too late, and then realized this expensive item was damaged irreversibly.

*Update * Our lawyer contacted you multiple times. I have the emails to prove it. -- At first, like most people, I checked reviews before booking with Bronte Movers for our move in April 2016. I read some negative reviews but also some positive ones, so I thought… sure, let's use them, there’s no way we’ll have any problems! Boy was I wrong. The crew showed up on time and was very courteous - we had a team of 4 guys for our move. The team was very quick and friendly, we got along with them quite well. After everything was moved into our new house, us & all but one mover were in the kitchen. The other guy was in the bathroom. We offered them all a beer (not the driver) and enjoyed it with them while the paperwork was being completed. We told them we were happy with their service and tipped them a good amount. While this was happening, we heard the one mover who hadn’t joined us in the kitchen close the bathroom door and leave the house - we didn’t think much of it at the time as it was a long day and we figured he was tired. When the paperwork was done, we signed it and they all left. Shortly after they pulled away, my husband wanted to quickly use the bathroom before helping me unpack. He walked toward the bathroom and his feet got wet. There was water all over the floor, coming from under the closed bathroom door. He went into the bathroom and realized the toilet had overflown, the guy who’d been in there previously had also left his moving gloves on the vanity beside the sink. While I was grabbing towels, my husband snapped a couple of pictures. He mopped up the water and I went into the basement to check the ceiling. Sure enough, there was water dripping from the ceiling of our newly-finished basement! Once the water was cleaned up off the bathroom floor, my husband drilled holes into the ceiling to let the water escape (I recorded it). The amount of water that poured through was unbelievable. After finishing the cleanup, we’d called Bronte Movers - they were closed at the time as it was late (after 8pm), but we’d left a message. Nobody called us back the next morning, so my husband called again. I have to say, we’ve never spoken to someone more condescending and rude before. They refused to take ownership of the problem and said that they’d spoken to their guy and he said he didn’t do it. Of course he’s not going to admit to overflowing a toilet and leaving without the slightest attempt at cleaning it up, or even giving us the heads up so that we could clean it up. Instead, he left it and gave it lots of time to leak through the floor and down into our basement. They didn’t take ownership of the problem. They turned around and said it’s not their fault that we have bad plumbing and that we need to go after the previous owners of our house. We had a plumber come through that same day though and he confirmed that there was no issue with the plumbing. Of course we’d have gone after the previous owners of the house if that were the case - it would have been the easier thing to do. After that, they began to ignore our phone calls. We did get our lawyer involved. She was dealing with someone named Chris - the same rude man we had spoken to over the phone. He claimed we were lying and refused to come to any sort of agreement. She was only asking for $500 to put toward the repairs of our ceiling. I had been holding off on writing my review until we knew for sure whether this would be sorted out with them or not. Now that I know they won’t budge, I have taken it upon myself to make sure that everyone knows how terrible they are. I intend on posting this same review everywhere possible. Our issue is that it was negligence on behalf of the guy who watched the toilet overflow and did absolutely nothing about it… and it’s a sign of a horrible company that they don’t own up to problems that they caused. We spent thousands of our hard earned money on our move that day, and had to pay out of pocket for damage they caused to our house. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

I have used Bronte Movers 3 times now. They are fantastic!! Friendly, efficient and cost effective. Their office staff is on top of all the details - no matter how complicated the move (we had 5 different locations to go to!!). The actual movers have always arrived early and cheerful. They get to work quickly and give the impression that they want the move to go as quickly and easily as you do. They bring moving blankets and extra boxes (just in case) and have lots of great tips on what to do with odd items like lampshades. A three person crew ensures that there is always someone keeping an eye on your possessions when they are on the truck. Don't hesitate - book your move with Bronte Movers!!

I am a senior who used to be able to move or rearrange furniture within my home. Now, not so much. I needed a sofa-bed to be moved to a different room with furniture in the destination to accommodate the sofa-bed. From arranging the job with Veronica to the two gentlemen who did the heavy lifting, I could not have been treated better nor could the work be done withe less disruption. I highly recommend them.

Ralph has been moving my family for the last 30 years (me as a child and now me as a mother). The guys just don't stop the whole move! Our last move was in a random snow storm and these guys went for 15.75 hours like machines. If you go around quote shopping after Bronte, the other guys will low-ball their price based on Bronte's quote - don't fall for it! They may APPEAR to be more expensive (only because you told them you were shopping around) than the competitor, but trust me when I tell you they're not. Easy for the other guy's to say they're less hourly with less guys and you will pay for it ten-fold. You'd rather have 4-5 efficient guys doing your move for a little higher hourly than to have 2 guys moving like slugs for a lower hourly. I've made the mistake only once after Ralph's crews were booked and tried someone else - spent $1000 more on the total move even though the other company was a little less hourly - you will pay more in the end, trust me! When it comes to moves, it's about efficiency, not necessarily about hourly. I've moved 26 times in my life, so I have a little experience :) Ralph and his crews are beyond the best in this industry - professional, ON TIME (!!!), reliable, friendly, and FAST! I'm sure I have several more moves in my future and I'll only use Bronte - I'd rather change my closing date than to try any other movers. Did I mention they're always ON TIME?! When you are closing on your new home and old home on same day, every minute counts!

Moved on from this mover. They missed our initial meeting but were apologetic and moved to reschedule it quickly which made me hopeful. I met with a representative and took him through our whole move, responded with followup email for things that were asked about. I have never heard a thing back, despite an additional followup inquiry. Absolute silence. What a waste of my time that is limited while trying to prepare for a move. Would definitely not recommend especially for something as critical as a major out of country move. Disappointing - always trying to support local business but not in this case.

We were very impressed, and pleased with our movers. They moved us on a day when the weather had called for a snow storm. However they were still on-time when arriving to move us out. The crew was very fast, professional and extremely careful with our belongings. They packed everything with the utmost care and concern. Every single one of our belongings and pieces of furniture was moved without incident or damage. Overall they were really hard working and courteous, they actually finished about 3-4 hours earlier than what we were quoted. So if you're concerned about movers who drag their feet, don't hesitate to book them. They were incredible and we would definitely recommend them, and book them again!

Do not recommend this company at all. They made us pay for the insurance, which did not cover all the stuff that was broken. A frame was picked up and slipped out of the hand of the mover and shattered. He said do not worry the insurance will cover it. After the fact they said there's nothing they can do. They broke my mom's China dishes. They left us with moving boxes with a 20$ deposit per box, and left it at out house for weeks. When we went to return they said the can not give the deposit back. This company is a scam.. use at your own risk.

My mom passed away in January and we had to clear her room in retirement home. The home my mom was in has never had a covid outbreak so no issue for them to complete move. We were moving a few small items along with antique china cabinet from Oakville to Etobicoke. There were also few items my niece was taking including triple dresser which the movers helped to load in her pick up truck. I can't believe how quickly they were able to move everything. Very organized. I was nervous about china cabinet but they really packed it carefully with moving blankets and shrink wrap. Cost was extremely reasonable. We used Bronte Movers before and were always pleased with service so naturally chose them again. It was very emotional going through all my mom's things with lots of memories (she was 95 and didn't pass from covid). Jordan and Alex were the nicest, most caring young men who demonstrated sensitivity and empathy for what I was going through. Felt like they were family. They were also very covid cautious and kept masks on at all times. Veronica and Donna in the office were very helpful too and returned calls very quickly. I would strongly recommend Bronte Movers. I had great peace of mind from using their service.

We've used Bronte Movers twice and had two very different experiences. Our moving experience was dependent on the quality of the crew they sent. The first move was on an unpopular moving date so we got the "A" crew. They were professional, courteous and competent. Came in on budget - a very positive experience. We moved on a very busy June 30 and got a very junior crew with a truck that was too small. Long story short, they broke my 60" TV as they tried loading it into my car (their suggestion - they had run out of room in the truck). Later they tried not covering the damage because it was not "packed by them" even though we didn't have anything to do with packing or moving it. On the unloading at the new house, the crew just ran out of steam and strength and slowed down to a near stop. I had to move my last couch down to my basement because they just didn't have it in them anymore. Move took much longer and cost double.

I am extremely happy with Bronte Movers. Their quote was very competitive, not necessarily the cheapest. I decided to go with them because my friend had used them on a few occasions over the years and spoke well of them. You hear a lot of horror stories of how some moving companies hold peoples contents hostage while trying to squeeze more money out of them. This is also why I wanted to go with a larger well established reputable company. I had a team of 4 led by Ed do my move. I must say I have never seen hourly employees hussle the way those 4 worked on our moving day. You would think that as hourly employees they would be more inclined to not “kill” themselves, but that is certainly not the case. I was even shocked at some of the pieces that were carried by one man when they could have easily justified using two guys. Even when it came time to moving the boxes, they would never carry just one at a time if the contents were not fragile, they would usually carry two to three boxes at once. Their work ethic was truly impressive and most importantly it did not come at the expense of being careless or by scuffing walls, etc. I highly recommend that you hire them for your next move!

I've used this company before, 10 years ago, and they were excellent. However, I just had them do a move and there is damage to a few of my one-of-a-kind antique items. In one case, they noticed 'pre-existing damage' on one of the items but the veneer at the time was intact, if delicate. By the time it arrived at the house, portions of the veneer had ripped/ torn off near the screws. Bronte refuses to repair it due to the pre-existing damage. Plus it's hard to repair antique wood furniture with inlay on the tabletop. Overall, this company is sufficient but if you have any delicate one-of-a-kind, antique or high priced items, I wouldn't go with this company.

Used about 20 moving companies and Bronte is one of the better ones. Would have been 5 stars except there were some costs the jumped higher then expected. In the end, paid 40% more for the slightly better quality. Although there was less damage than normally expected, no claim was submitted.

I have used several movers over the years but my experience with Bronte Movers was one of the best. I called around to a few places but Bronte Movers was by far the best to deal with. The staff in the office were very pleasant to deal with and answered all our questions. The movers arrived at our house on time and introduced themselves - very professional. We had several large pieces that we need moved on several floors in the house and the guys did a tremendous job in taking care of not only the furniture they were moving but also pictures/mirrors that were hanging on the walls. There were a few large pieces that has to be moved through a tight space and the guys patiently figured out a way to make it work. Everything worked out great and they completed the job very fast and efficiently. We will definitely use them for our next move.

In response to my earlier review, you can now look up the quote and my applicable feedback. Extremely disappointment with the lack of professionalism from this company and in particular your Estimator. First off, I'd connected with your company and over the phone I was quoted $220/hr. then on an email I was quoted $230/hr. - I suppose based on how someone initially reaches out (phone vs. email) you shell out different #s? I scheduled an in-home estimate to be safe. The Estimator (Chris) calls an hour before our scheduled time which went to voicemail as I was on a work call during said work day. He leaves a message asking if he can come immediately as he's "in the area". I didn't have an opportunity to respond as I was working. He then shows up 30 minutes later at our door (30-mins ahead of schedule) and asks to come in. Both my husband and I work from home currently and we had set a time for this reason. Chris proceeds to walk about for 5 minutes, touching various handles, door knobs, etc. (odd as it's COVID) during this time my husband is on a work conference video call (again, it's a work day) - Chris asks that I "clear a space at our table" so he can sit down. I would think he would see a video call is happening and suggest we discuss the quote outside? No, he sits down comfortably and writes up a quote that is now $300/hr. and says we need 4 men as we "have many boxes". It was a $4,500! quote for a townhome. I understand a quote can change between a phone call and in-person but in the end $4,500 + is extremely high. I told him it appeared excessive and he said he recommends everyone call around and obtain at least 3 quotes. He left, I immediately called All-Rite Movers, also based in Oakville, and I cannot say enough amazing things about them. SUPER professional and went above and beyond on move day. In the end the total was more than 2K less than Bronte! $2,000++ less! I would suggest you get your quoting in order and perhaps hire more professional estimators who arrive on time? Moving forward, I would further suggest that for any and all negative Google Reviews that you ask for clarification from the individual vs. immediately stating it's a "phoney review" as I seen you've done through your review process. The sign of a good company is one that listens to feedback and more importantly criticism and responds accordingly. I wish I had the ability to give less than 1 star....

These guys broke into locked rooms in my house when I was at work, and gave my property away!! The doorknobs are sitting here on the floors all smashed. They gave all my stuff to my ex now I have nothing left. All my tools were taken, everything. I'm pressing charges on bronte movers right away, they are criminals.

The move was completed well within the quoted time. The cost was less than expected. Veronica was friendly and able to answer all of my questions. I have used Bronte Movers before and have always been pleased.
