Addendum Aug 21: I was contacted to by the general manager directly about the incident, where she apologized about the incident. I was really put at ease by the very professional way the manner was dealt with, and just finished getting a quote from the estimator that missed our appointment. Who by the way was also extremely professional and easy to work with. Kudos to Highland for proving you're a class act, and look forward to seeing your quote, and hopefully have it be the better offer. Really kinda disappointed. For the record, we never used their services. For our move to Edmonton, we called them based on previous good experiences with my employer and overall great reviews. We called for an in person quote and several days later made an appointment. My wife and I were waiting our bedroom (9 am) for the estimator to arrive and nothing. So we called and left a voice mail. At 4 pm that afternoon I got a call from the estimator. They claimed that they waited for 20 minutes, and rang the doorbell twice. Since my toddler rings the doorbell all the time when my wife and I are in the bedroom, it kinda surpirses me that we didn't hear it. Especially when we tested it when we came home. Also when asked why they didn't call while in the driveway, since the estimator was perfectly able to ring the doorbell and call at 4 pm for our 9 am appointment, the response was that it would wake the kids. Because you know, doorbells don't wake up toddlers ???? I will give some credit to the estimator that the colour of our house was correctly identified, so I'm mostly certain they showed up to the actual house. To be honest, I called you Highland Moving, because I trusted your rep, that you could be someone who I could trust my life, my possessions with. But with the first point of contact with the estimator, just leaves a bad impression. I want to trust you, but I'll be honest, at this point I'm not impressed. There are a lot of good and bad movers out there, so at this point I'll take my business elsewhere. Just for the record I am open to being contacted about my experience. I doubt I would go with you (I'm not just trying to get a better rate, if I can't trust a sales call, how can I trust you with my life), but if you need some honest feedback I'm open to it

The initial moving consultant, Arliss, gave me comfort in organizing the pack and move and ensured that everything was in line. Hello There, First of all I would like to thank your company and specially Nicole from Calgary office. She provided all the assistance that I was looking for before, during and even after the shipment was done. She was great asset to the company and I wish her best in her career and would like to convey my special thanks. Then came all the nice people in between. Again from Robert (Calgary) to Santos (Toronto) everyone was so helpful. The quote was being changed few times as my stuff weight was changing every other week. The last estimate was almost correct and I did not have any problem paying. All the stuff arrived and unloaded at both locations without any problems. Nothing broken or damaged whatever boxed we have opened so far and we have almost opened 1/2 of the total boxes. I am sure everything will be fine when we open rest of the boxes. I am not sure what to say more about my excellent experience as it will always be less than what we experienced when talking to real people. We moved over the last 2 days with highland and are repeat customers although the last move was 13 years ago. I can’t say enough good things about this company and our crew. We had been estimated at over 18,000 lbs and 2 days. We went for an hourly rate and they completed in less time than estimated. They specialized in heavy things of which we had a lot! They maybe took 20 minutes break the whole day, including their lunch. Highly recommend and hope their management see this, thank you

We were very pleased with the care and professionalism of our driver Ray. He was personable and thorough.He was also accessible by cell phone during the actual drive to our new home. The men working with him were also friendly and trustworthy. They were careful with our possessions and mindful of taking care of both the home we left and the one into which we moved. We could not have been more pleased. However the co-ordination of the move in Calgary was somewhat lacking. We had been told our driver could pick up a sofa at the store where it was purchased and that he would be made aware of this. When Ray arrived at our home he knew nothing about this pick up and told us he could not pick it up as his truck would not fit in the store's lot. There were some stressful moments when we were concerned the store could not deliver the sofa to our home before the moving truck was to leave. Ray had also not been advised by the Calgary office that his large truck would not fit down the narrow driveway at our destination. Staff in the Calgary office had informed us that our possessions would need to be transferred to smaller truck to get them to our doorstep. Though the Calgary office had told us they would coordinate this it was Ray himself who sorted out the problem. It is apparent that there was poor communication between our driver and the Calgary Highland Moving person who was to supposed to coordinate these things. In summary, we had a successful move. We suggest the office staff actually take coordination of unique customer needs seriously and follow through on what they promise to do.

They had exceptional service and attention to detail. We were moving into a brand new home and they took careful care to lay cardboard under their ramp to avoid any damage to our new concrete. In the house, they actually lined the railing with moving blankets to make sure that nothing scratched the new railing. They were so efficient with both loading and unloading. Separately, the scheduling office was incredibly understanding. One week before our initial scheduled move date, I broke my leg and we had to postpone the move. They were so accommodating and just put me at ease. I have dealt with many moves, both domestic and international, and I have never come across a better overall company.

Our movers, Will and Paul, were punctual (right on time), friendly, helpful (they were ready and willing to do a lot more than we needed them to), efficient (our whole move took only a couple of hours and they wasted no time), and careful (nothing was dropped or damaged and they left little opportunity for accidents to happen). Yelling match in my house complete with F-sharps heard by neighborhood. Smoking in our garage, brutal, offensive music played at high volume (and I'm an iron maiden fan). No follow up by Calgary GM after my call. Bad leadership, would NOT recommend.

We had such an awesome experience with Highland moving, right from the communication from Jessica to the 4 man crew led by Wisdom, they arrived early and felt bad for asking for a break in 27c weather! They filled our storage containers with precision, there were other companies offering quicker and cheaper crews but I’m so glad we went with Highland, looking forward to having them back to offload storage into new home!

We had moved most of our smaller items and boxes before Highland Moving arrived. On moving day, the guys showed up on time and were all ready to go. They were polite and very courteous, completed the transfer of our household to our new residence in good time. In the process, THEY broke two items. One was a small glass door on a display cabinet... No big deal, I can have that remade at almost any reputable glass shop. The other broken item was our 40" LED smart TV. The guys took toe of what was broken, admitted to breaking it, and apologized. They said their "claims" department would be in touch. As it turns out, because we didn't buy their replacement insurance (the cost of which seemed exhorbitant) they only pay "by the pound" at $0.30/lb, bringing the total to about $82. We hired Highland thinking they were a reputable company who would take responsibility for any damage THEIR people CAUSED. Because we had a short move (10 minutes driving time), we believed their "extra" insurance would be used to indemnify them should anything BEYOND THEIR CONTROL be the cause for damaging our property. Unfortunately, they obviously take NO responsibility for their employees carelessness and we are out several hundred dollars. I would NOT recommend them for this reason alone.

I loved the detailed room by room checklist, it made me confident that the estimate I received would be accurate and not based simply on hours and mileage, which is vague. The movers were on time and professional. They protected the floors, furniture was well padded, beds taken apart and rebuilt, everything was well orchestrated and efficient. The day of drop off happened the day after a blizzard so had to shovel out the storage facility- which the movers did quickly. I highly recommend this company I will use them again!!

Jay, the Calgary salesman came out to give me an estimate and tell me what to expect. I was impressed with his level of professionalism. |However, the actual moving crew of Patrick, Jerry and Patrick's son Mike were not professional in the least. The day started bad as I asked Patrick not to smoke in the house (he smelled strongly of cigar smoke) - well he thought I was thinking he was unprofessional. The day was horrible - Mike and Jerry hated each other and I heard about it constantly. Jerry yelled at me when I asked him about the garage and his standard answer to my questions were "we'll take care of it Miss" and Patrick yelled at me when I asked him to bring back the Telus modem. I had told Jerry nothing in the kitchen to go but Mike took it. Patrick came in and yelled at me that he was the boss and I should of told him. Jerry was right there packing boxes. These men involved me in a drama between them and seemed to think that its ok to yell at the customer. I was so frustrated. As a senior single female I would have expected some respect. Delivery day was worse, I had called Jay the salesman and explained about the long list of problems - well it didn't get thru to the office in Calgary and they were calling me for payment and the three guys found out about my complaint. The office kept telling me its their policy to do this and that and the guys sat in the truck. Leeann was kind but not helpful and Liam the manager either wouldn't or couldn't take my call. The Calgary office was totally unconcerned about their drivers sitting in the truck doing nothing. I finally talked to Sean, the Edmonton manager and told him until this issue was settled they could keep my stuff. I'd had enough by then. Rude rude rude. The list is endless - do yourself a favor and use someone else.

From Paul who came and did the walk through, to the ladies at the warehouse answering my last minute questions (this was my very first Office move and I had no idea what to expect) To the crew who took amazingly good care of us. The entire process with Highland was incredible. Very prompt communication and assistance, I've never used professional movers before and had some hesitance with it, however Becka and Shelia answered all my questions (and there were many!) very quickly and communicated very well. Our movers showed up early and immediately got to work. Chase and Spencer were two of the hardest working guys I've ever met. Exceptionally professional, prompt and excellent at packaging and moving everything, involving us the whole time, they worked a very long day into the night and I must reiterate that they are among the hardest workers I've ever known. They unpacked with the same level of professionalism, promptness and care that they showed on the front end. Highland Moving has made my first experience completely stress free and enjoyable. Highland was only company to send a representative to review our goods, discuss the move, temporary storage requirements and provide a quote. The move-out and move-in teams were on time, courteous, efficient and professional. The teams were happy to assist in repositioning furniture and boxes as needed. Cleanup and removal of packing materials and extra blankets was excellent. Our belongings arrived safely with no damage experienced. All invoicing aligned with original quote specs (no surprises). This moving company deserves zero stars. They pulled up in front of our condo and rammed into tree branches breaking them off. I asked them to please stop they ignored me until my husband went out. They are rude rude rude I would never use them for moving anything. We recently moved here. Our movers properly parked directly across the street far away from trees without being asked. We moved from a town house condo into a single family house in October. The coordinator, Arliss, was easy to deal with in the phone and recommended a 4 man crew. The crew, by names, were Tarun, Jay, Raj and Sanjiv. They were excellent!! They were prompt, quiet, efficient, responsive and extra helpful. When they had finished moving the entire contents of the condo into the house, they went above and beyond by helping us to move a fridge to the garage and another into the house. My mother suffers from mentally illness and was, massive understatement, quite stressed about moving. The gentlemen that moved her were very friendly and my mother expressed numerous times how stressed she was and Andrew and Mike were very comforting with humor and expressed their understanding. The point where I am just blown away was they took a BBQ that was not supposed to be moved because we neglected to point that out (our fault). When they realized they were in same city as the landlord whom owned the BBQ they personally delivered it to him. What could have been a big pain to rectify for us, Mike and Andrew saved the day and no one knows how much that means to someone in my mothers condition. From Arliss in the office, to Jay, Ray and the other two gentleman who assisted us, it was a fantastic experience. Arliss assured me she would take care of us and she did. We had a 730am start time, a one hour window for the elevator, it was not going to be an easy day. The gentleman showed on time, worked efficiently, fast and were careful. Handling of my initial phone call (first contact asking for information) very efficiently handled and with good information. 2. The response to my inquiry and the customer service follow-up (I was always in the "know" of the status of my inquiry) 3. Promptness of the service to pick-up the furniture; the courteousness of the service people (Ray and Brandon); the expertness and efficiency of the way my furniture was wrapped and handled (well done packing, etc) 4. Quickness of the delivery to the destination (We were surprised how quickly the furniture was transported and delivery time was from approx 2wks to 3days) 5. Honesty of the pricing (again another surprise that the cost was less than quoted and the honesty of letting us know that we were getting a price break ... wow!!! - never heard off normally it would have cost more and not less) It is good to know that I now know an honest, efficient and caring mover ... All the guys were polite and worked really hard moving everything with care. I was really happy they brought a second truck as we half filled that too!! It was great they had extra wardrobe boxes for us, as we were going to leave the clothes for another day but this way we managed to have the guys move all 6 of them. I would definitely recommend them to anybody. I was surprised they didn't pack a lunch cooler and drinks though. That should be mandatory outside of the city. All in all, a good moving experience.

Coming off Barlow north bound deerfoot. One of your trucks did a 2 lane change into the far left lane than decided to drive under 100km a hour holding up traffic. Finally after passing the truck I look over at the driver he is On his cellphone, while there is a passenger!! I get it maybe calling a client before getting there but isn't that what the passenger can be doing instead of the driver? Next time I'll be reporting it to the police. Also maybe some training for the driver as he was in and out of the lane could be because he was on his cellphone tho.

I had highland move my fully furnished 3 bedroom house with glass tables and multiple large mirrors. They managed to move everything out of my place in calgary and into my house in fort mac without a single scuff on the walls and not a broken item. Excellent service.
