Here you will see all the feddbacks of people who are buying the services of Detroit Institute of Arts (Movie Theater) in the territory close to Windsor (Canada).
Nowadays this business gets a score of 4.8 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is practically the highest, and it is founded on a large number of scores, so we may conclude that the score is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Art museum.

First time back at the DIA since I was in elementary school and already making a plan to go back. The art is amazing the food court is open and to my surprise they even serve alcohol. Went with my fiancee as a nice birthday experience and she couldn't of been happier.
This place is awesome a must see for art lovers or anyone who has an interest in sculptures from all parts of the world dating back to the beginning of time. Plus on the first level a art project area is available for children to draw, paint or make crafts. Great place to visit for the family.

The DIA has always been a fun place to go at least once a year. Lately it seems a little drab, but times have changed. Clean, and filled with exciting pieces. I only wish the employees were a little more into their positions. I saw more security guards then art informants.

The DIA is a very special museum, and it’s even better now that I get free admission (Wayne County). What I really enjoy is that there’s always different special exhibits to check out. The current exhibit about the cars was a great surprise. It’s also fantastic to check out The Nightmare again, along with the Van Gogh pieces.

Large museum with lots to see. The exhibits don’t flow very well, so take a map to be able to follow your path if you want to make sure you see everything. Very cool cafe inside, museum architecture itself is interesting. Weekend day was not too crowded in the afternoon which was nice. $14 for adult, $8 if you’re a student, reasonable prices.
There are so many reasons why I love the DIA so I'll just share a few. ???? (1) It's free admission for Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County residents. (2) The art is beautiful! There's so much to see that you won't be able to see everything in one day. Unless you dedicate 3+ hours to visit. (3) Two cafes are available (but a little pricey). It would make for a great date night, though! (4) Family programs are available each week. (5) Friday nights the DIA is open until 10 p.m. Perfect if you are only able to visit in the evening. (6) Rotating art exhibits. (7) Special events like cultural celebrations, author talks, film screenings, and musical performances. (8) Great place for pictures, especially if you want outdoor lifestyle or wedding photos.

I came with a few of my friends to experience DIA (been a bit since my last visit). Make sure to remember to schedule your visit, we were fortunate enough to enter from previous cancellations during that timeframe. The staff were friendly. Always answering my questions and were enthusiastic about art! It is a great museum the offers various exhibits such as contemporary or modern. A bit disappointed to have a small room just for Japanese art but my mind quickly changed from seeing the quality. Photography was another key feature in the museum featuring work from marshall. It really changes your perspective about angles and shadows as his works primarily feature Detroit shots. The museum was also featuring car design which showed various vehicles from 1950s-2020s. The cars are beautifully well kept with retro futuristic design for the car show layout. All car enthusiast will certainly enjoy coming for this exhibit.

Art is amazing but the environment is toxic. They push masks like Nazis here, not just the workers but legit every person we passed would give us dirty looks is our masks even just slipped under our nose. I probably won't go again until they loosen up.
Great place to spend the afternoon with family to add some culture into the bloodline.

For a year, I dreamed about coming to the DIA. I went here for the first time last Saturday, and it was amazing! You need to register online beforehand (my group forgot), but the staff let us take a canceled slot. There were so many galleries I saw on each floor: from Britain to Naples to Greek art. My favorite area is the Kwame Brathwaite gallery. Another one I loved was the contemporary African-American section. I felt happy and proud to see modern black artists. Honestly, the dopest painting was the man riding on horseback. (Low-key, I want that painting in my house!) The DIA teaches you about different times and challenges you to think and learn more about these histories. The museum is one of the best places you can go to in Detroit, and I'm for sure coming back.

Outstanding experience, time well worth spent. We enjoyed the contemporary arts sections, and the exhibit of Detroit's roles in the design and development of America's sports automobiles!
One of the most beautiful museums I’ve been to in the entire country. I try to go here once every couple of months. The people working there are extremely knowledgeable about the art and the facility is always super clean.
You have to make a reservation now to go but we did that literally at the entrance doors
Excellent museum. Huge building. 3 stories high with MULTIPLE rooms to explore from A.D times til current. Very friendly staff... lunchroom clean. Great food. Some is pricey but it's filling. If you're looking for souvenirs....bring Lots of money. But there's plenty of nice things! Will have to visit again! Deffinately an ALL DAY thing!
It's a fun and educational experience. It's a good place to take your kids for learning about art and culture. It has an impressive amount of acquisitions. I would visit again.
Greatest place to visit in Detroit! I can spend hours and hours enjoying the Art from all around the world and get to know a bit about the Detroit style Moto Industry. The Patio Cafe is the gem, loved having coffee and take a break there while my feet needed some rest from walking some many Art pieces.

A treasure of Detroit. Great art and friendly, informative staff. Good access for the handicapped. The exhibit of art of the North, Central, and South American first nations people is splendid. Good curators in action. The collection of impressionist art is excellent. There are artworks that are found in art textbooks. Have a beverage at the Kresge Cafe and talk about the beautiful things you have seen thus far. Then go see some more. Free if you live in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
the docents were EXTREMELY nice and very helpful. the place itself is gorgeous. we took out 17, 15 and 5 year old and never once did we hear "we're bored, can we go home now?" lol spent almost 3 hours there and still didn't get to see everything. will definitely be back!!

The Detroit Institute of Arts is absolutely my favorite place to be, on any day. In fact, each year, on my birthday, I start my day with a few hours at the DIA. On Fridays, their hours run later than usual, and one can wander through the stone halls, exploring all of the beautiful wonders this museum holds in the peaceful quiet and low, ambient light. The Detroit Institute of Arts offers an extensive collection, including many Van Gough, Picassos, and Monets, which are so coveted, that we are frequently lending our pieces out to museums in major cities all over the country. I've been a devoted patron of the DIA for almost 20 years, and everytime I enter, I find something new that takes my breath away, and fills me with inspiration and joy. Even amidst the pandemic, the DIA has been a refuge. The best part is admission is absolutely free! Be sure to stop by the cafe in Kresge Court for a coffee, cocktail, or a delicious piece of bumpy cake ????

The DIA is one of my favorite places to visit in Detroit, either alone or with friends. The galleries are filled with beautiful pieces that you won't find anywhere else, and the presentation makes it all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend the DIA for area residents or out of towners to visit and enjoy.
The "Detroit Style: Car Design in the Motor City, 1950-2020" exhibit is really cool to see. I wish they had a permanent automotive display hall.

I love this place. The only down fall is, it appears that young Black male visitors are more closely monitored by security than other visitors. That's what I observed during my recent visit and it's disheartening. My sons, 17 and 22 have had the same experience and that makes me sad because they are just two kids who appreciate art like most people who visit the museum. I hope security suspends this practice soon.

Loads of art and history exhibits on just about every culture. Art from thousands of years ago to the cars of today, this place has just about everything. Easily the best museum of its kind in Michigan! We spent over five hours wandering around the exhibits and were impressed by just about everything. Prepare to get lost at times because the rooms seemingly multiply the longer you're in there!

Reserved 4 tickets a couple of days in advance, showed the email at the door & walked right in past the line. Such breathtaking art was truly more enjoyable with so many less people around! Social distancing & sanitizer everywhere . Staff was super friendly & helpful. Truly an amazing museum on every level.
The art is beautiful but you can’t enjoy it because the staff is so extremely rude. We were followed room to room by the same security guard like we were criminals. I got told I wasn’t allowed to point at paintings. Great art, awful staff and for that reason I won’t be coming back or recommending to anyone either.

Great place to visit for art enthusiasts. The DIA features ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian, African, African American, Native American, and Hindi art work. You can't see the whole Museum in one day! And don't forget lunch. . . The Cafe' is a bright, airy, modern day cafeteria style dining area serving up lunch favorites of soup, chili, salad, deli sandwiches and pizza. The Kresge Court, an indoor courtyard with patio themed seating and wifi, offers sandwiches, salads, pastries, coffee, tea, wine, beer and a full bar. The DIA is also educational experience for kids.
I love everytime we visit!! The rotating expos are always exciting, like star wars, automotive design, ofrendas. Diego Rivera's mural is my favorite part of the museum.
Had a lovely time with my adult grandchild. It was so nice to go back to the DIA after 15+ years. I am going to go every 6 weeks or so because I enjoy it so much. If you have never gone.......you're missing out. Jus'sayin'.

Free if you live around Detroit!! So many cameras and security everywhere, so you can't do inappropriate things..... Like kiss, because everyone has to wear masks. Great art though! Learned a lot, in 3 hours we only made it from the first floor to half of the second floor. So we will have to go back to see everything.

This was my first visit at the Detroit Institute of Arts and I have to say that it was an amazing experience, there's a lot to see, from paintings to sculptures to interactive projector experiences. There's a lot to learn, I came to see "Art" in general but I ended up with an entire museum, you can see mummies from Egypt, Native American Artifacts, Japanese objects, Greek pottery and sculptures and more. I was lucky to come across the Automotive design exposition where I was able to see cars like the Ford GT 40 and New GT, old futuristic car concepts and muscle cars like the Barracuda and the classic Mustang 67 fastback! There is no guided line to follow so feel free to wander around to wherever you may please!

It's truly an amazing museum to spend a good 4-5 hours in especially in winter! Some of the paintings are beautiful to just sit and stare at. Their new automobile wing shows cars that date back to the 1900s to now..that was perhaps the coolest part. Their cafe is also gorgeous to sit and chill in!
World class collection. Yes (emphatically yes!) the Diego Rivera room. But also 4 Van Goghs, a room full of Picasso’s, multiple Matisse, Whistler, Kokoschka, Modigliani, and many more from the 19th and early 20th Century all of very high quality. Plus a very strong collection of contemporary works (artists I have seen in museums in NYC), including rooms full of very good African American art. And I didn’t even have time to get to the ancient and non-European galleries!

As most do, I love the DIA's permanent exhibits, but the real highlights were the temporary showings they have. The vast array of concept cars, notes, and sketches is a wonderful learning experience regarding the design of cars through the years. We were also able to see the Black is Beautiful photography exhibit this time around, which not only presents striking in its meaningful imagery, but also gives the history and context behind each of the pictures. I recommend planning on multiple trips, there's too much to view in one day. Plus they rotate in new exhibits, so it's worth going more than once We covered Native American/south American, Egyptian, Middle Eastern, and some of Europe - no time for a lot of Europe, Japan, most of Africa. Although it is not as big as many other famous museums and not having as much items or as many very famous artworks, yet I gave it five stars, for what they have is quite good and nice, and well desplayd and for what they do to bring as many artworks as they can from other museums. Also for everything else like arrangement, cleanliness, calmness, air-conditioning, reception, car Parking, cafeteria, etc. Don't miss it, I visited it several times.
A great day to go is when its raining outside! Various choices of exhibits, multicultural acknowledgement for global artifacts and had an awesome quick lunch! The car exhibits were the best!

Blackburn printmaking exhibit was fantastic. Unfortunately we only had 2 hours, but could have spent all day with the contemporary art galleries. The cars were a surprise bonus!
Their collection of French Renaissance art alone is worth the drive from Lansing and that is just one hall. I got an education in American art history which I wasn't completely aware of. Two of the paintings in the American collection completely drew my breath away. The exhibits are well placed, designed to take you through the ages and cultures. Really cool exhibits but they closed earlier then we thought so we didn't get to see everything. Also, they have sensors if you got to close to the art in an area but didn't have signage saying don't get to close.
It's been 7 years since I last visited. Lost of nice art, and directions arr easy to follow from the number if signs they have. A bit confused from their advertising when the Van Gogh Exhibits are supposed to be setup.
I have been visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts now for over 20 years. If I'm ever feeling depressed or melancholy this is always a trip that is sure to cheer me up. So much so that I've been a member and like to donate when I can. Walking these halls and seeing all of the wonderfully beautiful art is just a sure way to brighten up anyone's day. Now I can take my son and he too can enjoy all these works of history. To stand in front of some of these pieces is like looking back to a simpler time and simultaneously can ground you to the reality of life. Please if you visit Detroit or plan to make this one of your stops. I promise you won't regret it. And if you somehow do regret it you can be sure to come yell at me ????!

The Diego Murals are housed in a central atrium with a beautiful glass ceiling. They are filled with detail and you could easily spend a lot of time on the various benches studying them. At the murals, there was a friendly docent who helped us get oriented and suggested what else we should see at the museum. They currently have an interesting cars exhibit with classic cars from different decades, remarkable sketches, and videos about how cars are designed and ultimately produced. The museum also had a cool modern section and great contemporary collection. Appreciated seeing a number of works from contemporary Black artists.
