Restrooms are outdated and need attention example locks on stall doors and toilet paper was not available. The theater is nice the staff was friendly and the price is excellent.

Jordan G

Really like this theatre. Not too busy, nice people.

Elle Drake

I wish there was something we could do to help the owner of this theater. The landlord has raised the rent by 200% during the covid apocalypse. How is that allowed?! Rahim Manji, we feel for you. I'm so sorry this has happened to you.

Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, PC, QC

Like having your own theatre. Intimate surroundings yet the screen is big enough and the sound is of absolute high quality that it becomes a real, yet cozy, movie night out. Would not be surprised if the proprietor is a movie fan. It just has that "movie lovers" feel.

Dawne Dye

So wonderful to have this theatre here. Of course you cannot bring in your own food. This little theatre has to make a profit somehow and that is one of the ways of doing it. We enjoy coming to see great movies here! Thanks for keeping it going! At times it must be difficult to get the crowds! Good Luck!

Laura

One of the very last theatres like this around—support the Rialto! Don’t let them go out of business! I will be heartbroken if the ever shut down. Such an iconic part of White Rock.

TM Smith

Wow - took me back to my home town theatre experience as a kid. The Art Deco Theatre is lovely, clean and comfortable. The viewing quality is as good as any larger Cineplex complex. Get there a little early as tickets are bought at the concession along with popcorn and snacks. Free parking in the back.

Marianne L.

This little gem is my go-to preference even though I am within walking distance of a Cineplex. It shows less widely distributed films so need to travel to Vancouver. Great staff, prices. I love the Rialto in White Rock!

Armand Rashid

Cute little movie hall without all the bells and whistles but still a fine establishment with reasonable prices and friendly staff. I wouldn't reccomend seeing an action film here but it is great for a dialogue driven film.

This theatre has found the key to success. It offers first-rate cinema perfectly suited to its local audience and demographic. Today I enjoyed “The Good Liar”. Bravo Rialto.

This theatre is epic. It has an old school feel and charm to it. We try to get here at least once a month. It is truly an experience. True, it doesn’t have all the modern conveniences of the newest Cineplex, but what it lacks in that department, it more than makes up in others. This is a old time, small town theatre in the heart of White Rock/South Surrey. The owner still personally greets patrons and sells tickets. This place will always be on my list of iconic & timeless places in the area.

Franz Gerber

Love going there. Prices are low, and the quality and friendliness is superb. Arrive early. Just before showtime, there is always a lineup

So convinence you can have a movie night whenever you like besides the good price.

So happy that this fine local establishment is back to provide this great service to us locals. We should all support our neighborhood merchants before the Big Box Boys take over all of small business. When they're gone - they're gone and don't usually return. Glad this little theatre did.

Mary Hart

Great place to watch movies. Very friendly staff and a community feel. I much prefer to wait in line here than at an overpriced multiplex. I love being able to see a great selection of movies while being able to support a local business. Thank you!

Becky McCaffrey

My husband and I visit this theatre regularly. We really appreciate the art deco decor, cozy ,comfortable seating and wonderful staff.????

Kristin Cassie

I love the family feel as opposed to the hype and false glitter of the big movie malls. Always happy to support them and their ability to continue, through purchasing their food.

ANN RLT

Never will go to big plexes again as long as Capri and Rialto are available! All the latest movies without the deafening noise and endless adds. Miss you!

jenni trumpet

Always good movies... (but seats could use cushion)

Timothy Leung

Old looking theatre. The seat weren’t comfortable. We saw a movie on Tuesday and it was $6.50. They didn’t clean up between showings. The theatre has an old smell. If you don’t care too much about quality and you just was to watch the latest movie, it’s a good choice.

Margrit Elmiger-Isert

Happy to support our little theater.Amazing choices of movies! Service is first class.

Karin Hatch

Great local theatre, small and intimate. Love going to the matinees.

Badger McTavish

Immediately feels like old school family theatre when you walk in, but the sound and picture quality is as good as any of the uber-movie complexes. I love coming here!

This is a great little 2 screen neighbourhood theatre. We're lucky to have such a theatre locally. It may not have the big sound and screen of the newer theatres but it makes up for it by the convenience of being local.

Andrik Moe

Small somewhat nostalgic theatre that shows the occasional non-mainstream flick. Staff was friendly too and not too crowded for a Saturday night.

Dalana MCaren

Love that this theatre has re-opened. Close and affordable for White Rock seniors. Also the selection of movies is upscale. Service is excellent. Movie times are great.

lorie nash

Comfortable affordable super service friendly staff and always Well chosen movies. A great place!

Jeff Nagel

Love the Rialto. It's great having small-scale local cinema in walking distance of many White Rock/South Surrey folk, not strictly megaplexes.

Jack Peters

"Retro Theatre" for watching retro movies. Popular Place with the classics enthusiast or just wanting to experience the Movie Theatre setting. Newly released movies also play for School Field Trips, some afternoon's. Everyone is Welcome at this Theatre. Thanks .....

David Paquin

Nice neighborhood movie theater. Seats are alright and friendly staff.

Man, are my feelings mixed. I love that old theater feel. The dim lights, the suede curtains. The buttered popcorn and the old man admiring posters outside. But, what I can't stand is how bad my back hurts after each film, from sitting in those cramped auditorium seats! I swear to God, I literally developed a cyst on my tailbone from extended viewing sessions in this theater, since I visit it so often. I had to have surgery to get that cyst removed and everything! Jeez Louise, honestly. Get those seats fixed.

Char McC

A decent selection of current movies, good prices especially on Tuesdays, pretty good popcorn, and it's Central. The only thing missing would be those nice new big recliner seats, I would definitely pay more for that!

Luciano Leiva

Nice experience overall. Seats not too comfy for a long movie. Good pop-corn and Coca Cola.

korinna leach

The Rialto is our number one cinema. We love the films shown there and felt crushed when it temporarily closed. Words cannot adequately describe how relieved we were when it re-opened. Many thanks and keep the great films going! Cheers, Korinna and Thea Leach

Gem of Community Theater. Well run, low cost, nice selection of snacks but best of all - well chosen films. It has a very loyal local following and when they run a film that fits White Rock, South Surrey demographics it will run for three weeks. Very different than is sister location on 24th that is more children and teen focused film offerings.

Linda Coyne

Only one person taking tickets and serving food to a long line up. Ended up missing the start of the movie because it took so long. Had to see a later starting movie instead of the one we wanted to see. NEVER going there again. Po dunk!! Not the first time having a bad experience there.

Ilyes Daoudi

Covinent for white rock residents. Good selection of mostly 1st run movies. Friendly community atmosphere. Wheelchair and senior friendly.

fallenelvis

I love this theatre! Always great movies for those of us that enjoy good plot and good acting. Also good popcorn and nice staff.

Y Bahl

Nobody picks up the calls but got the whole movie screens for ourselves. Could use a little cleaning but makes up for the price.

Jim Bennett

Smaller theatre with 60's theme. Good seating and good concessions. Screen is large and picture clarity was excellent. Sound quality also very good. Parking is a little tight due to small mall and heavy traffic. Easy access off of 152 street.

Jenny Price

I love this place. Great place to enjoy first run movies with other adults. Tends to run adult movies only. Super friendly staff.

aotm vhiam

Never going to another theater, I'll wait tiiwhat I want to see comes here. Cozy without feeling old or dingy, just lovely.

Michelle Malboeuf

Took my elderly dad there for a matinee and the staff was absolutely lovely. For both my dad and I and some snacks it cost us 31dollars total. Pretty cheap daddy daughter date! We had a great time and we are going again today! See you there!

Peter Davies

Local film theatre for White Rock/South Surrey. Tends to show off-Hollywood movies that you often won't see in mainstream theatres.

Brenna Finch

This is a great little theatre! There are only 2 theatre rooms, but, it has everything you need! There's a small concession stand, where you can purchase your tickets for a show(its cash only though(and affordable too), and there are washrooms available upstairs! It's also conveniently next to restaurants in the plaza(Starbucks, Ay Chihuahua(Formerly Kimberley's Jewelers), and an Asian restaurant), so that you can have a bite to eat, before the show if you want! The owners are nice too! There's also a marquee on the corner of the plaza(by the antique shop), which tells you what's playing that week!

Strides Pedorthics

We love going to the movies.... AND the five minute drive home! We support our local theatre.

John Delta

Let's support this little gem. Only 2 show rooms. $6:50 nite on Tuesday for senior citizens. Nice to have a small theatre nearby showing first run movies.

Bartley Phillips

Perfect setting to see the new "Stan & Ollie" movie! Cozy, comfortable seating.

Jane Sterling

This is a great little neighbourhood theatre showing current movies. Great ambiance.

Andrew Murray

I like that this in an independent theatre, so I want to support it. Can't beat the price of the tickets, and the service is pretty good. However, I couldn't get past the damp, moldy mildrew smell in the theatre. It's an older theatre, so I can kinda understand, but it's enough to prevent me from going back.

It was a sad day when this community theatre closed because the owners could not afford to switch from conventional film to digital. Months late a new owner reopened it, much to the joy of moviegoers. The inside is not the most modern in style but it remains comfortable. It has two screens. Playing there are the usual recent releases but many are more "artsy" movies and foreign films that are not in the mainstream. Although not connected, this theater can be regarded as a smaller version of Fifth Avenue Theatres in Vancouver. The Rialto is in the best of locations. Right next door is a Starbucks and across the road there is a Tim Hortons. And just behind that is the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre. So you could easily shop, go for a coffee and watch a good movie, all on the same day.

Lesley Macdonald

I always love it. The theatre is very comfortable and intimate.

Erik Zuyderduyn

Cheap and cheerful. Small screen but easy parking. Convenient location.

Roy Craigen

Blown Away!!! Best theatre experience I have ever had Fantastic staff from the top down After 50 years as a regular theatre goer was just blown away This is now my favourite for all time

Lesley Johnson

Great Local theatre to watch a movie especially on cheap tuesday night! Its never insanely busy and usually has pretty good movies playing!

Bon Toy

I am glad the movie cinema reopened , needs a little bit more attention to seats old and very uncomfortable. . Great popcorn

Magnet Signs Maple Ridge

Saw death of Stalin today. Enjoyed it. Older theatre but great popcorn, friendly staff. Small theatre with a touch of class. In some ways reminds me of the Fraser theatre I spent Saturday mornings in the 1960's. Will check it out again for movies they don't send to the premier theaters.

Laura Ashton

Nice little theatre with great prices for admission and concessions

Carl Byfield

Great old tyme theater. The perfect place for an afternoon matinee.

Barbara Cook

I am so pleased this theatre has reopened and I plan to visit often. It serves our community well. I'm impressed with the choice of films and the affordability of the venue.
