You will see the feddbacks of real people who purchase the products and services of AMC CLASSIC Southridge 12 (Movie Theater) in Waskaganish territory (Canada).
As of day the business receives a rating of 3.6 over 5 and the rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is very high, and it's founded on a very high number of reviews, so we can think that the evaluation is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they are happy with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater is included in the category of Movie theater.
In need of a major remodel.
Below average
Picture and sound quality is great. It's never too busy.
completely handicap accessible! no stairs, closes caption machines, and headphones for the visually and audibly impaired!
General admission seating was a nice change. For some reason everyone sat in a circle near me though..... Generally 'felt' dirty. Had a bit of a smell and I could hardly last the 2 hour movie without getting up and stretching my legs out. Good prices and saw the film without issues
Need to clean better
Very nice clean facility. Snacks was pretty expensive but all theaters are. Seats were a little tight. But overall a good experience.
Filthy bathrooms
I go there because i want to support Southside businesses. Friendly and clean!
The theater was filthy & freezing cold
Way past time for an upgrade and smells musty.
It's gotten better with new management ,prices r better, great happy hour prices from 4-6 $5
Wasn't busy at all. They had all the popcorn dumped out. Had the rest room lights turned off like they couldn't wait to close.
The theater is dirty and nasty. The bedroom smells. The seats are not comfortable. This seems like a rich guy who probably owns this place is unwilling to upgrade to save money since people are still paying money to see these movies. If you (rich person) is reading this..open your wallet and spend some money for well past needed upgrades. As with a lot of us we are willing to go the distance to go to better managed theaters.
I really love how well they keep the viewing rooms clean. The floors are never sticky.
very good but the theaters smell like wet dog
Me and my friend had the theater to ourselves the snacks are expensive and the concessions people were nice we saw Scream
Good
Not bad needs at least 2 employs during the night shift. kinda an inconvenience when you spend five minutes at the counter waiting to get a refill and the employe is out doing other things he/she needs to do.
Kind of small theater and the staff seemed a little off...not rude, but not really like they cared a lot. The place was clean inside and out and not very crowded.
It may not be the mega movie theater, but it's nice not to fight the crowds.
OMG!!!!! I didn't think they could have disappointed me twice in one day but they did... Wow!! No wonder people will drive out to Jordan Creek theaters instead of going to Southridge Theater'... Customer Service needs big time help!!! I am all about supporting our southside business but....after today we will be traveling to Jordan Creek Theaters for a movie and popcorn for sure. Jackson's PTA needed enough popcorn to fill 300 small bags to give out to every student today. We had 100 already done before our machine overheated. Staying with our southside business I drove over to Southridge theaters to ask for help... Well they could do it if they had 24 hours notice (they could never pop that much popcorn in an hour) Plus, they had customers that needed the popcorn (1 customer that I saw) 2 machines only one on for the day and two employees and manager just standing around. OK... Whatever you don't want my money and can't help out the local school whose parents support your business everyday!!! Go back to the school and they got the machine working again but we were making popcorn slower now and it was 1:30 pm... at this point I needed to make an announcement to let the 400 plus students know we wouldn't have popcorn today. Not a fun announcement to have to make at this time.... Plus, if you know me I do not like to fail or give up in anyway. So, I googled until I found a number that went to a person at Jordan Creek theaters. Amazingly, they could do it and in 30 mins that it took to drive out there pay $15.00 a bag and drive back and bag 300 more bags of popcorn to hand out the last bag to the last student as the bell ran to leave school for the day. I called to speak to upper management at Southridge just now when I got home and was told it could not be done in 30 mins and it would cost me hundreds of dollars if they did. REALLY......I tried my best to keep calm and explained the person on the phone that Jordan Creek did it in 30 mins and it cost me $30. REALLY....it can be done and they only used one popcorn machine to do it. So, the entire school will know all about this tomorrow in the morning announcement and what great customer service Jordan Creek Theaters has.
Theater is outdated and smells like a musty old basement. Movie tickets are cheaper than other theaters, but they still gauge you at the concessions.
A great place to go to see a movie. Would recommend to anyone.
Quality has diminished just in the 10 years I have been coming here. Most positions have been eliminated, only leaving a couple cashiers left to get your ticket and food. The entire theatre needs revamped. Smells like old musty moldy carpet, seats are uncomfortable and overused. Obviously a corporate issue of not investing money into the building.
Decent...
Great place for a movie
Awesome
This theater is old, gross, and empty. It makes me feel really sad thinking about the glory days of the entire Southridge movie theater and shopping mall by comparison.
Its ok but its sort of too far from where i live but its sometimes clean but then sometimes before a movie starts the lights arent really dim its like "umm can you turn them all the way off THANK U"
Bathrooms and lobby were trashed at 130pm. Gross.
First time being here and was not impressed but the ticket prices ok.. theater was old looking, bathroom was disgusting. There were at least 3 workers in there all just standing when one of them could've been cleaning honestly. Seats were uncomfortable.
Good location and huge parking lot.
Good theatre, but seating area need to be updated badly.
The customer was outstanding! The 2 young ladies at the concession stand were incredible... Our popcorn was fresh
They turn the lights off in the bathrooms before the movies are over
Good quiet experience
Nice chill place to hang out and watch movies at
The popcorn is always delicious and the theaters are always clean.
Place was extremely run down. Needs some TLC.
Could be better.
Good movie theater place was playing the popcorn was great
went to watch a movie at 1, projector stopped working, fine, that happens, was refunded and told that we could come back to the 3:55 showing, came back, as they were selling tickets, another employee there was telling customers that they cancelled it, as other employees were selling them. They then said they thought it may be fixed and was going to try and show it, wasn't fixed, #1 they obviously have a lack of communication because if you cancelled it why in the world would you be selling tickets #2 don't tell people to come back if there is a chance it's going to be cancelled. I completely wasted a day trying to go something fun with my 6 year old
They make you wait In line even with pre purchased tickets
Suddenly changes the rules that 17 yr olds can’t do see the rates R if adults allow them to, and there prices are ridiculous! 5 dollars for candy..
Normal movie theater
They movies at cheaper before 4pm they showing movies pass 5
Nice theater. Good lineup of movies. Not the latest equipment or seats but comfortable.
Its cheap kinda smells and a little dirty.
Clean environment kind and helpful staff.
Bathroom always smells like urine and they need to update it's starting to look beat up in there
Old cinema, but cheap and Very good
Loved the movie
Place looked awesome! Only issue was sound was off throughout the whole movie
A great South side gem
Old and run down and it smells
Its ok
If I could give this theater a negative 5 stars I would!! I went to see the movie Respect tonight (which, in itself, is so ironic!). Just before the movie started, a family came in with several small children in tow. It was an 8pm movie, and at least 3 of the children were under 5. During the first half of the movie they ran up and down the stairs, yelled at each other, talked loudly. I ignored it until they turned on a video player for the youngest child to watch a movie with volume up high enough to distract me from the movie. I turned around and politely asked them to please turn off the video player. Five minutes later the young theater staff person came in to the theater and asked ME to leave! I will NEVER ever go to that theater again. I don't know about you, but if I pay money to go to a movie theater, it's because I want the experience of enjoying the movie. Apparently, this theater thinks that paying customers don't have that right. That screaming little children deserve to run around and do whatever they want. And if you speak up, YOU are the one that is asked to leave. I'll drive to Altoona the next time I want to see a movie.
Impressed with this theater staying open, despite all the restrictions and other newer venues. They are doing a good job! Adult ticket $9 on a Saturday night. I know they do $5 on Tuesdays. 12 theaters with comfy seating. It's not the recliner type that have become popular, and I am personally glad for that. I just want a comfy seat. All kinds of snacks, plus pizza, ice cream, pop, slushies, etc. The popcorn is really good at this location! A regular size is humongous. My snacks always cost twice as much as my ticket. LOL! Masks in use for employees and required for patrons until seated in theater. Restrooms clean, plus there are several locations so one is close no matter which theater you are in.
The entrance of the building is big, and very lit up. There are also a few games you can play to past the time. The theaters themselves have many seat with all great views of the wide screen.
dead
Love them
no just no.
I am hardly one to write a review, but I was so disappointed in my recent experience at Carmike Southridge that I feel like it should be shared. The theater itself seemed clean. It was not overly crowded and the ladies working the concession stand were very friendly. On Sunday, October 12th, my dad and I went to see Annabell at the 7:15 showing. There were only 4 other parties in the whole theater. One of the parties happened to be a group of 3 woman (not young children) who decided this was the best time to have a very loud and what they thought was hilarious, conversation. After being asked by the other movie viewers to be quiet they kept talking so I finally went and told the manager, who when I walked out there was doing NOTHING, in fact he was leaning up against the counter eating popcorn. I told him about the disruptive guest and he sent in one of his YOUNG employees to handle it. This girl could not have been older than 16 and was clearly very uncomfortable, the ladies in the theater did not stop talking after the employee spoke with them, in fact, it got worse. The manager never came in to speak with them again and I am confident in saying the movie was ruined for me and the other parties. It all could have been avoided if the manager did his job himself and asked them to leave.
Great location and always has a wide variety of movies available.
Showed up 20 minutes after the start of my movie showing to avoid sitting through the previews, the doors were locked and no employees even looked my way as I tried opening every door and waved at them. I already had tickets online that were bought and payed for, thankfully with a credit card so I can issue a charge back.
Standard theater. Was clean. Tickets were sold at counter and only 2 employees so wait for service was longer than expected. Show we watched we were only 2 people in entire showing.
This theater literally steals money from you. If you book tickets online you are charged a convenience fee, yet there is no kiosk available to print them so you still have to wait in line. They do concessions and tickets at the same registers, so even if you buy tickets in advance you still have to stand in line. AMC customer service is nonexistent, so I will go out of my way to avoid ever going to a theater owned by them. There are enough other options in the metro, if I'm going to be stuck with the fees with no actual convenience I will pay that extra to go to one of them that doesn't have broken seats and smell like b.o.
Theater need to be updated really bad. Wallpaper torn off, seats ripped & some arms have been broke. Spend some of that expensive popcorn money on some repairs.
Went there today for mothers day.. Of course i had my 3 kids os and fiancé with me. At times yes my kids were whinning but they are kids.. And the rest of the peiple in this movie are mostly elderly. Like please be a little understanding . Of motherhood!! Anyways.. Nope they complained and we got kicked out of the movie! As my kids and i are walking out., this rude lady proceeded to make rude comments towards us!! They refused to refund anything back. The manager was completely rude when i talked to hi, said he couldnt do anytging about what was said to us! But yet has no problem kicking me out, even thought he dis npt hear or see my kids making noise!!.. AND... NO WHERE DOSE IT SAY NO KIDS ALLOWED!!
Chairs worn and uncomfortable . Not enough staff, not many hot food options. Movie was great.
There was this super sexy employee named Ryan who was super polite, got my concession order ready in no time, and even fixed up one of my shoes before I went into the theater! And to top it all off I saw the movie No Good Deed and it was AMAZING! Best movie theater I've ever been to hands down.
Great for watching a movie, might be the best in the area..... Customer service though, keeps it from being a 5 star place!
Old and nasty Haven't been here in years, and the building in showing it's age. The lobby feels like an old kmart, and everything just seems a little dingy. The theatre we sat in actually smelled bad. Like a dozen small children all peed in their seats and nobody bothered to clean anything. Go somewhere else
In quickly, bought our food and drink and to see the show.
The service here isnt anything spectacular, the place definitely needs to be updated and the bathrooms are always dirty. This happens to be the theater closest to us, and their ticket prices are cheap, so we still go here frequently despite it not being the greatest. Many times they have been out of a lot of the beverage choices as well.
Not the best theater. But it's not crowded. Movie started 5 minutes late
Nice but not cheap 33.00 for 2 ppl an snacks
A lot of movie choices.
Good screening
Great movie experience and nit too bad on prices and very clean and friendly staff
This place used to be pretty good. It has endured some tough years. This place isn't that busy and if you live on the south side of town is still a decent option. There are several better theaters in Des Moines though. This theater still has a chance to turn things around but will have to soon.
Not going to another movie here. I went to Venom last night. I went to two women's bathrooms last night and every toliet in both of them were covered with urine and/or feces. Other customers were complaining as well. The few times I've come here, it's been filthy in the restrooms and the theatre itself.
(Translated) excellent (Original) Exelente
Our theater was about 85 degrees, we couldn't enjoy the movie!!!!
Nice movie theater
Very busy and very messy. Popcorn was on the floor and spilled on tables in the concessions area.
THE MOVE WAS GREAT I THINK THE BUILDING NEEDS SOME WORK STAFF NOT VERY NOGLABLE MABEY NEED MORE TRAINING.
Smells like straight PEE . I think it just needs to be deep cleaned and it would be fine . But I cannot get over the smell
I always choose this theatre for a number of reasons. One being they aren't over crowded and two, the employees are very nice. It could do with some upgraded decor, otherwise I have no complaints. Perfect place for my family to go! I do hate they don't have 10 or 11 am showings any longer.
Rates are great, old place but clean
Dated..
Nice place and plenty variety of movies to see. Goodies are pricey... but they are at every theater
Great movie theater, too bad it feels like nobody goes here often. Not sure if it's because of how society is changing to online streaming or if it's the economy tanking, but overall a good theater.
Endgame was great
Purchased tickets in advance got charged immediately and kicked off website. Never received a confirmation email, call location multiple times and no answer. After calling customer service was told nothing could be done but to send pic of purchase...highly inconvenienced and very upset! Never attempting to come here again and I should have listened to the negative reviews already written
Quiet and clean
No e ticketing or reserved seating.
It is like other AMC theaters. We used movie pass for the time we went here and it was pretty straight forward. We went during the week on a Wednesday and it was pretty dead. It is not the newest building around but it great for seeing the movies you want to see.
Not the cleanest movie theatres, but close to home. Has good first run movies.
Very bad
To be honest, I love this movie theater. It's a great place to watch a movie with a date. Its not to expensive great popcorn and a high tech soda machine. Although the seats in the theater aren't the nicest and could use a cleaning, they are still very comfortable.
Awesome opening weekend of Avengers not even 1/4 full you could actually enjoy the movie
The movie theatre is alright but for the prices they charge it's a little strange that the projector is in poor condition, it flickers throughout most of the movie, the sound isn't too great either to add. When you compare it to that new theatre in Altoona, they only charge a bit more for a far superior screen, sound, and seating. The only reason I ever keep going to this one sometimes is because it's located closer to me, but when great movies like Star Wars comes out, I go to the better one that's a bit farther away, it's worth the ticket price at that point.
I only go there cause it's close the men's room smells very very very very bad
Cheap before 5p Mon-Fri and its clean and friendly.
Even they had to cut back their hours cause of Covid they are still running efficiently. The whole theater was clean and they helped customers easily. They opened the doors a little over 20 mins before the first movie showings of the day give those who arrive early plenty of time to get snack and use the restroom if necessary. 10/10 will return.
Our family normally goes to the Copper Creek theaters in Pleasant Hill. I have never been disappointed there. Ten years ago the Southridge 12 was a good place to go for theaters, not anymore it isn't. First off, the times they had posted online kept changing. Once we got there, none of their signs showed the movie we went to go see (the only reason we went to the Southridge 12 was because Copper Creek had moved on to newer movies). When you tried to buy tickets, they had to ask if they were even playing the movie we went for. The concessions stand was a joke. They didn't know prices, and the menu board kept showing advertisements, so you couldn't see prices. After finishing there, we were told that our movie was the last theater on the right. We needed to walk back and ask because the theater we were told, the sign was showing a different movie title. I was then told, the sign just hasn't changed yet (what is the purpose for movie signs if they don't properly show what movie is showing in that specific theater). After sitting through all of the pre movie trailers, the movie started. Only it WASN'T the movie we had paid to see. So back I went to the usher to find out what theater we needed to go to. I was told it was across the walkway from where we were originally told (no apology for their mistake). By this time, we should have been late for our movie. Not so; our movie hadn't even started the previews yet. After sitting there for 5 minutes, I went to find out why it hadn't started. I was told it would be started shortly (again no apology given). The seats were outdated and uncomfortable. I don't care if the Southridge 12 is the only theater show a certain movie in the future; my family will never go back to the Southridge 12 again!
Expensive concessions, but the overall experience is pretty good. The theater is clean and the staff are nice. The annual popcorn bucket is a worthwhile investment if you plan on going with any frequency.
Cheaper tickets than most cinemas. I like the no-frills environment of a Carmike movie theater.
Love the atmosphere!
Not many people down here !! But still worth a visit...
Clean, wonderful staff, great seating awesome place
We got a theater all to ourselves.
Nice theater. I think the arm rests need to be replaced. No cushioning and the chair where I sat had one of the arms half broken off
Comfortable seat, cheap tickets, reasonable concessions, clean theaters, but the bathrooms are absolutely repulsive. They smell like they haven't been cleaned since 2006.
New movies are shown and Great seating
The staff is wonderful, nice, and work hard to get what you need.
Clean, great food, movies sound and focus above average.. staff courteous
Nice place for a family outing
I like this theater, it could use a good renovation, but the theater experience was solid.
Good prices and nice ataff
I've always enjoyed Southridge movies house.
Like the ????
Wish they had more staff. Really think they need to replace the carpet. The musty smell is overwhelming.
This place is GROSS! The kids that work there are rude. The floors look like they havent been cleaned in years,. When we got out of our movie at 11:30 pm (we were the only ones in our movie) there was not a single soul in that place, lights were off at the concession. It’s like they closed while we were in our movie... NEVER AGAIN.
Bought tickets in advance. What a waste of time and effort. Still had to stand in line. Was told by the general manager that AMC is too cheap to buy kiosks. Wow really. Won't come here again.
Not what I expected from a AMC , did the private theater and it got messed up by accident and then was told by the manager that he couldn't do anything about it. We even offered to let him charge us again but refused. Tried to call AMC customer service but they don't answer phone calls. Being from AMC 's home base maybe I expected to much. Building its self is rather dirty and has peeling wallpaper in lots of areas. If we did not have lots of family with us we would have probably left..
Friendly staff, decent prices but the theaters smell like dirty wet dog.

I am not a huge fan of the classic theaters - as they are much less comfortable than the reclined seating. Also they make you purchase tickets at concessions abd it's always a long line. They need a ticket kiosk.
Great show.
Nice Theatre but they should slowly invest in upgrading the seats and put in a ticket vending machine to speed up getting g your tickets.
Very nice staff, clean and best of usually not packed so finding a good seat is easy
Theater is decent and close to home. Employees are always polite and helpful
Commercials while waiting for the movie to start. That's why I go to the movies to get away from commercials. Can't even have a conversation before the movie with all the noise.
It's a good theatre to go see a movie at and it's conveniently close so my family chooses that theatre. However whenever we get popcorn it makes me a little nauseous, same with the rest of my family.
I took my Family to see Annabelle Comes Home this evening. The sound was so low quality it was hard to understand the people speaking, and the Inside of the Theater was so unbearably hot! Not one time did anyone come in to check the Thermostat, and when I addressed the situation with an employee I was told, " Yeah we've been having that problem in a couple of the Theaters." Well congratulations on identifying the problem! Next step might be to fix it. All in all a very unpleasant viewing experience.
A third tier theater. Comfortable enough to see a movie, but pretty dated when compared to theaters with leather recliners and dine-in food service.
$8 for a regular popcorn...seriously. Ridiculous!
Service is good, comparable prices but this place needs serious updating and major deep cleaning .
Staff was very nice , it was a clean place but I can't believe I paid $7 for on drink and was told I get one refill
Simple and straightforward theater, pricey just like any theater but we always go on tuesday for the 5 dollar movie night. The staff is usually friendly and knowledgeable about the workings of the theater and its specials. The theaters do have kind of a smell to them but that comes along with an old theater.
It's my neighborhood theatre. Completely satisfied..
A good place to go to watch movies
A great place to go if you want to avoid an over crowed place.
What is that awful smell??? It literally smells like I'm sitting in a urinal right now. They need to clean this place up before they lose more business than they already have. Staff is nice and the prices are good but come on I would like to at least breathe clean air!
Great place. Friendly service.
Good movies
The seats are small but the price is now frikkin fantastic. $6.99 even for late night shows.
I agree with all the comments below I also think that they should have mtn dew products....updates on food stand.
Cheaper than Cinemark, better service as well. Enjoyed taking the kiddo to toy story 4
When I call they don't answer and tried calling them for like 2 hours and never answered there calls
Good prices for snacks and drinks as far as movie theaters go not as much space or big screen as others but not much of a diffrence if you get a good price for it definitely recommend place for movies also other places to go to right next to it
Friendly staff but FILTHY carpets. I think they have never updated the place since it opened. After spending $30 on 2 tickets, 1 popcorn and 1 drink I should not feel like I need a shower!????
Is a good place to see a movie... Bc nobody's in there... Bc is to old and stinks... Wish the owner reenew it bc is the only movie theater around
Ordered tickets 6 hours in advance. I arrive at the theater 5 minutes prior to the movie starting. I am told that I still have to go through the line, that is 30 minutes long, to get my tickets. What a complete joke.
This is one of the most amazing theaters we have EVER been to because of the kind staff! The girls working here were so sweet and helped me figure out my Fandango gift card issues. They were kind, fun, and helpful, and I am so grateful to them! It was a wonderful trip to see Frozen 2 with my daughters, who both dressed as Elsa :)!!
Great place very clean and great sound people are nice
This is my favorite theater. The people at the concession stand were friendly when I've been there. Good popcorn and pop. The seats are comfortable without being cumbersome and you have much more freedom over where you sit.
Cheap prices, good quality food, wonderful staff and clean.
Somehow this place is still open...amazing
Great place to watch a current movie. Snak bar is way pricey. Week end matinee is inexpensive.
This was the most filthy movie theater I've ever been to. The floor by the concession stand was sticky over a very large area. The movie we went to see, there was a ton of popcorn on the floor. You could see the seams between the panels in the movie during certain scenes which was distracting. They charged me like $4 for a bottle of water! If you're going to charge like an upscale movie theater, then at least keep your damn place clean! Never going to this theater again.
I have been going to Southridge for 10 years now. My family and I have great memories there and I used to know the staff on a first name basis. The last two years have been pretty bad on the old place and I really have highs hopes AMC can dump some money into it like they did up at WindSong in Johnston. I live less then two miles from Southridge but I find myself driving out to Jordan Creek or even Altoona before I’ll go back Southridge. Last time I was there was about two months ago and bathrooms were rough and floors and theaters could use a good make over after a deep cleaning much like the others have said. Please AMC save this place from ending up like a bad dollar theater and the closing. :(
Clean, good staff, good snacks and good price
It's a movie theater.......no better or worse than your average movie theater. Yes, there are a lot of previews but I get that at most movies I go to. The same with the prices at the concession stand. I say if you really hate it that much, go to another theater........we have plenty of them.
It's a great theater has been around since I was a kid. It's never too packed the concessions are great.
Needs updates but has good ticket prices
Place was dirty and they couldn't even find manager. The food area wasnt even clean.
Dirty, and outdated
Great service!
Understaffed slow...14 min in line to get to movie..stay away...minus 2 review
Needs a deep cleaning
Ahhhh. I miss the OLD Southridge theatre, the one that was actually in the mall, rather than this freestanding building on the southeast corner behind the complex. AMC has managed to keep this theater open, showing new releases as well as extended runs on selected older shows, and they deserve credit for that and for not abandoning this location. There's plenty of parking, and generally plenty of seats. That's the good news, the bad news is that while I've never noticed this rampant odor problem mentioned in so many reviews, the pricey concessions and tickets are only too true. Of course, matinee prices (before 4:00pm and not a second later, watch your show times!), Stimulus Tuesdays, and Buy-a-Popcorn-Bucket (get cheap refills) can help as long as proper logistics are applied. Also, ordering tickets online for walk-in seating is futile in addition to an unnecessarily expense, as AMC has not supplied ticket kiosks. The seats, while adequate, and not the very most comfortable in the metro, do have lift-up arm rests for snuggling, or wide berthing. AMC might consider a refurbishment, but at this point keeping the doors open and the employees paid is probably the most to hope for. If Southsiders realize the importance of supporting your locals and a local venue, even if not the theater chain, join me in patronizing and protecting the Southridge 12.
Good theatre no complaints bigger theatres than i expected
Kids are running this place. Could be cleaner
Bathrooms are ridiculous.
I'll support cause I like the stock
Plase really needs a upgrade and soon... looked dirty & old my 5 year old even said it was creepy. In another note employee's were staring and were not even friendly kinda looked bored tbh
Very nice inside indeed
Got to theater 15 minutes early ...good thing because the movie had just started! No previews seems as though the staff is running customers out early don't want to be rushed when I go to the theater. Air seemed stale no circulation hope the management works on this.
$4.99 for all movies before 4 pm. Great way to have an adventure with the family when on a budget!!
Needs to be completely modernized with the times. Old,smells just needs to be completely updated to the 21st century, or just close it. Altoona is close enough for a real theater.
Used to be my preferred theater because it was inexpensive relative to other theaters. Its pretty rundown and smelly, but the price was right. Prices have risen so it's actually more expensive! I now travel to Copper Creek in Pleasant Hill for both a better deal and more comfortable environment. That's what happens when you don't reinvest in your business.
Love the movies! Great food and service! Will be back!
PERIOD BRO
Appearance and quality service is fantastic. But the quality of sound needs calibrated and the seats or some of them had cracks and tears. Don't get your tickets on line to much drama on times they need calibrated there too.
A clean movie theater! And it wasn't crowded on a very hot Friday night.
Southridge will always have a special place in my heart because I worked there and had some good times back in high school. That being said, it's getting pretty run down and it's sad to see that Carmike isn't putting any money into it to renovate it and reinvigorate it. It's not a bad place to take in a movie, it doesn't get hit as hard at Cinemark in Altoona, Springwood in Ankeny, or the Jordan Creek theatre. There's simply less people, it's still busy on opening nights, but you can go a week or two later and take in a movie in relative peace without all of the idiots who try to ruin the experience by playing with their phones, talking, etc... Customer service is always going to be up and down when you're employing high school aged kids in this day and age. Sometimes you'll get great service, others you're going to get terrible service. I never really take this as a reflection of their overall service, it's just kind of a fact of life with movie theatres in general. And please, quit complaining about movie theatre concession prices. Movie theatres live and operate off of their concession sales. That's why concessions are expensive. Ticket sales are all for the box office. That's why you always hear (for example) that a movie cost X amount of money to make, and the movie ended up making X amount of money overall. They either turn a profit at the box office for a particular movie, they break even, or they take a loss. For example, the newest Ghostbusters movie was a Box Office bust because it didn't make as much as it cost to produce. So stop whining about the prices, if you're that broke, then you probably shouldn't be going to a theatre anyways, or you could just sneak things in if you want to pinch your pennies.
It was a great place to watch a movie. But there concession prices were and are a little to high.
The theatre is usually ok not the nicest place. The staff are young and rude. I didn't see a manager at all. The teenagers that work there have attitude and poor costumer service skills. The reason why no one goes there is because it's HOT inside the theatres! A couple left during a movie because it was way to hot. Plus if you go watch a movie at 7pm they stop serving popcorn at 7:30pm. I think that it's poorly managed and clearly these kids aren't taught how to properly act. Just not a nice place to go. Save your money and just rent a movie at home.
Good viewing good price
We were hoping with AMC taking over the overall quality would improve. Unfortunelty that does not seem to be the case. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and cleanliness in general was poor. Tickets were cheaper than some theaters so that was nice. Our theater was also very very cold.
Always friendly service.
Great price
Not a bad spot for movies. Concessions seemed pretty high - $9 for a large popcorn. Staff was friendly. Theater was clean. Only complaint would be the bathrooms. The building is pretty old and the bathrooms havnt aged well. Wet floors and gross sinks really turned me off. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind coming back here.
Clean, friendly staff
Comfy seats, good service.
Love this theater I make a point to see a movie here anytime I'm in the city. Thanks Amanda!
Not good information on where to buy your tickets
The line was out the door as there was only one person working the ticket booth which made for a very cold wait. The prices on the concessions were very high compared to even high end movie theaters. pop corn did not taste fresh and there were lots of unpopped kernals. The theater was very cold, almost felt the heat wasn’t on at all. The bathrooms wee very dirty, like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. We were very disappointed!
Just empty
So expensive stop one 4 years ago never again sucks customer service
Always friendly staff.
Cheap tickets and popcorn!
They had an exterminator come and spray halfway through the movie. If they're bug problem is that bad I don't suggest going to this theater.
This place is getting old.
Had nice seat
Good place for a movie, but the place usually smells a little funky. It needs a good airing out.
Cheapest option for a drink and popcorn is over $15. Theatres smell terrible. When the prices of the nice new theaters in town are the same and have beer + comfy heated leather seats, we’ll stick to those from now on. Wondered why there was hardly anyone here. Now we know why. On a plus side, the staff although was all new still learning how to do their job, they were very nice.
you will be fine with a popcorn but pick a seat in the middle
Could use some updating!
CLEAN THE BATHROOMS!
I tend to go here more in the winter. The people are nice and it is a good theater. I have had no problems with messy restrooms. They just got in the new pop machine, which was the only reason I went to the Wynnsong 16, Diet Cherry Vanilla Coke. That is a lock for me This theater is great
It's the only one I've ever been to
Never going again. Terrible smell in theatre. Wouldn't even give it 1 star.
Simply cool
Consistently good theater. Fast service at the concessions and clean theaters. Need to check the restrooms more consistently to keep clean and stocked.
Kinda pricy but the food was good people were nice and it was good quality
Very good selection of movies showing usually and stimulous tuesdays are nig hit and cheaper matinees on tuesfays with pop and popcorn big sales
Enjoyable theater to watch a movie
We had a good time at the movies
Over 20 minutes since "start time" and the movie still hasn't started.
