This is by far the most beautiful place I've ever walked it's so peaceful the walking trails that goes through the trees are absolutely beautiful I would highly recommend that you walk here you won't be disappointed everyone you meets on the trail are so happy and got s big HI to say when they see you this is a place I always walk and I will keep going back because it's my favorite place ❤

Loved and used the Manuel's River trails since 1990's. With the updated trails and maintenance over the last few years it has certainly become a community asset that caters to families, runners, dog walkers, and outdoor lovers of all kinds. The interpretation center has the best cafe in CBS for working at a laptop or relaxing with a friend over a cup and a nice view. Thanks to all the staff at the center for doing such a wonderful job!

This place is hella underrated. Less than 20 minutes to drive here from the capital city. It's only a 15 minute hike to see the waterfall and you can go swimming ! Manuels river > sunshine park any day.

My family and I are members. The trails are beautiful and well kept with several locations to sit and rest as well as poop bags and litter bins placed to minimize dog poop and trash getting left on the trails. The center has a little coffee shop and gift shop as well as the fossil exhibit. I really enjoy the various educational and fun activities put off for the children each week. Also, the rooms available to rent for events are lovely with a lovely view of the surrounding river, woods and ecosystem. It is a lovely facility that CBS deserves to have! I highly recommend visiting it!

This is a family favorite! We get out here every summer and always wish we get back more often! Plan for an entire day here with the trail, interpretation center, water to swim in/walk through, rocks to slide down, gas station nearby with hot food and slushies and bathrooms, free parking available, every spot is good for all ages! You can lay blankets on the rocks, bring a chair, pack a picnic!

Nice hiking trail. You can jump on rocks in the water and there are a bunch of hidden trails you can explore. Very refreshing. There are picnic tables located halfway through the main trail so you can stop and have a bite of food if you've brought any. There is a main building with washrooms and souvenir shop and other features.

Really beautiful spot for a walk along the river with well-kept pathways for walking, running, and biking. The interpretation centre itself has some really interesting exhibits and seems like a great spot for kids (they seem to also do parties). There is a nice cafe inside but it is only open Mon-Fri.

We have visited the Manuels River Experience building several times, lots of fun and learning to be had! Recently we took our kids to check out the popular swimming spot on the Manuel's River. (You can go basically anywhere on the river). We walked about 15 minutes-up to the bridge, thinking we might find a good spot to suit our 3 & 11 year olds. Eventhough we had a few good little places to play along the waters edge, which had very little movement. It was still lots of worry with a small child who loves the water. Make sure you have something on your feet. Water shoes highly recommend. My kids loved it, but I'm not in a hurry to take my 3 year old back.. if so maybe we will try a different place. If you are up for an adventure this may be the thing. Beautiful trail along the river , great for biking, hiking or walking.. with lots of places and tables along the way to stop for a picnic:)

This place is amazing !!! I am sorry I didn't stumble upon this place this summer. I would have loved to have walked the trails during the warm summer months. It was a little cool the day I walked one of the trails, but it was a lovely walk. Next time I will bring my dog. Looking forward to the ocean trail to see the fossils.

Moved to Newfoundland as a retirement plan to explore what Canada is made of. WOW, have yet to be disappointed and this location is absolutely no exception. If you have limited time for sightseeing then highly recommend making this part of the short list of places to see. Hiking trails, sight seeing and the interpretive centre are great......and as a bonus Bergs Ice Cream is just up the street.

A great place to take the family that sits along Manuel's River. On top of the educational value of the exhibits, the centre always has something going on for the kids from Paleontology and computer coding classes to movies and fossil hikes and everything in between. The yearly membership is worth it because it includes everything mentioned and gives discounts towards hosting of birthday parties and work functions. Oh and there's a Coffee Matters location inside. :)

I was really surprised by this place. It is so much more than I expected. I loved the space, enjoyed the eating area and had a lot of fun just loking around. My children loved it when they went on their school trips and I have even gone there for meetings. I hope that the next time that I am able to do more there.

Very nice educational center located right at the edge of the Manuel's River. There is a charge for viewing the displays but it is very interesting. The have a good fossel collection and explanation on how the area was formed. The is a nice gift shop with not so topical items, along with the topical. There is also a small coffee shop with in or outside seating located right on the premises.

This facility is the heart of CBS, built in the most scenic area of the town, maneuls river. The center is surrounded by beautiful wildwrness, an amazing walking trail that I have walked for 30 years! The new addition of wheelchair accessible trails makes this a wonderful place for anyone to visit. The center itself is very nice, perfect wedding or event venue, classy and clean. We often go for lunch or coffee at the cafe and the staff are very friendly and quick!

Enjoyed a short hike, as the trail was walk-able even in winter. Afterwards we dropped in to the Interpretation Centre for a quick snack. The atmosphere was nice and while not empty, there was no trouble to find a seat.

A must do adventure! Terrific interpretive center with a well laid out geologic story. Then you walk outside for a lovely hike and a possible trilobite find! Great cafe and gift shop with helpful staff!! The only drawback? Why are the scarves not made here in Newfoundland? Let's try to get as much as we can from locals.

Beautiful location. Went to the fundraiser this afternoon. Lots of tasty small plates. Chefs in St John's are amazing. The river was the backdrop. The weather was fine and it didn't rain. We finished inside with delicious desserts tea and coffee and cider. Food was local - so great. Craft beers and wines as well. Looking forward to next year.

They have been working very hard to upgrade and maintain the trails. We love going for walks here during the warmer months, and snow shoeing here in the winter. Great views along parts of the trail of the river. Kids like to swim in the river in the Summer, on both sides.

We visited here with our 7 year old and had a great time. We had the interpretation centre to ourselves and the guide there took my daughter through all of the interactive stations. Had a nice sandwich lunch and then walked the ocean trail, stopping at the fossil sites for our own search. The trails are mostly gravel and wide, making for a leisurely family walk. The waterflows over the rock are great fun to jump around. Facilities were clean. More information on trail signage would be the only improvement I could think of.

Music was wonderful and a joy to listen to. Servers were busy and as efficient as possible, but the deliver of both food and beverages was very disorganized. Instead of completing service to one table, servers would carry around large trays of plated food asking customers if they ordered the dish they were carrying, at times a plate would be almost on the table amongst unmasked customers then lifted up and delivered to another table. Our table was delivered 3 salads then maybe 15mins later after asking our server, our last app of now cold fish cakes was delivered. Main course service was no better, the one dinner of pork was served and fully consumed before our 3 fish dishes arrived cold after circling the air conditioned room multiple times. I'm sure the flavors of the dish would have been much enhanced if served at right temp. I left the potatoes untouched as they had congealed once cold. Beverage service was slow, had to ask for a glass for a beer, then payment was disorganized with patrons having to line up after the evening ended to pay for beverages, despite the venue having a wireless terminal that could have been brought to tables. Hostess, "Janet", seemed challenged at settling the crowd, and felt like the room was being chastised. Potential for this venue to be great place for music/dining with better hosting organization.

Trails are of different difficulties and are well taken care of. All trails are very scenic and have alot of benches and places to rest. Paths well marked. Trail going towards the shore is a very easy walk. Surface is very flat and groomed. Trail behind the centre is a bit rougher. Rocky and unlevel in places . Places to swim all along the river. A wonderful place to spend a day. Tours are offered for fossil section and nature.

I love hiking these trails! It's a beautiful place in summer and fall with swimming access in various point along the river. I love that it is a way to get children and young adults interested in nature and learning how ecosystems work. I come here every year and always enjoy a good hike through nature before going for a dip in the beautiful, clean, cool water of Manuels River.
