Josh is absolutely fantastic. My dog Frankie immediately took to him when he came over for an interview/meet&greet. His rates are incredibly affordable even for a big 2 hour group off-leash walk and my dog is always so stoked as well as tired out after. Josh is young, passionate, and hard working, I couldn't recommend a better dude to trust your dog with!

Any trepidation I felt about using a dog walking service was calmed after having a meet and greet with Josh Nightingale. My dog is a submissive Mexican rescue, so I felt that he needed to spend time with other dogs to gain confidence, and to be out in nature when I work long hours. Josh provides a safe and fun environment for my dog to interact with other animals while getting a major workout. My dog is better behaved as a result, and is on his way to becoming a (semi) well-adjusted member of dog society. Josh is communicative, transparent, trustworthy, and a warm and genuine human. I can't recommend him enough. Also - the daily pictures and videos are next level!

Amazing with all the dogs. Does a meet and greet to get to know the new owners and potential customers. Awesome pricing for getting the dogs a good hike with lots of socializing. Always makes the dogs safety his highest priority and works with owners to optimize gear and behaviour of dogs.

My puppies are always happy to see Josh when he comes and they always come back happy, tired and pooped. Josh has been incredibly patient and understanding with my puppy (8 months) who is a handful but josh handles it like a pro. I recommend him to every dog person I run into. He is so amazing.

My labradoodle Mrs. Stinson is just over a year old, and still a puppy at heart. I can't find words that explain how excited she is to see Josh waiting at the door, and how happily tired out when she comes home. The photos are terrific to see after the hike, and the puppies all must like their time on the adventure, or how else would be you get 8 dogs lined up on a log for a photo op? This is one of Josh's photos ...probably the best photo I have. Josh is very professional and obviously cares a great deal for his charges and their well being.

Tails and Trails Canine Services has been fabulous for us. Our dog Peta was a rescue girl who was nervous around males. Josh’s manner is so caring and gentle with her that she happily goes off with him on her walking adventures. He goes for some great off leash hikes around greater Victoria and Peta comes home good and tired. Josh also has this uncanny knack for taking the most gorgeous photos of the pack. I’m not sure how he gets them to pose for him but it’s part of the great service. His walks look so much fun, I’ve started to add them to my walking list as well.

Before I came across the Tails and Trails website, I was stressed about finding a reliable solution for midday walks for my pup, Chip. I work twelve hour days a few times a week, and had tried other options. Doggy daycares resemble shelters and mentally exhausted him ????. And most other downtown dog walking options were leashed sidewalk or dog park strolls, which aren't very stimulating for a three year old puppo. Josh is one of the few dog walkers that covers downtown pick ups/drop offs, and takes your pup on real adventures. Chip is a very timid rescue and a naturally sensitive boy, and Josh was able to connect with him really quickly. Josh is reliable and professional, takes great photos and videos, and Chip is always relaxed and happy when I get home from work! ????

What a great find for anyone who has a dog that loves to go on adventures and socialize with other dogs. Josh takes his dogs to the most beautiful spots on the island and they all have a wonderful time and come home fully exercised. He gets to know the distinct personalities of each dog he cares for and they soon become like his own. Not only does Josh have a winning way with dogs he also takes beautiful photos of your dog in these glorious , natural surroundings. No pavement for these dogs, rivers and ocean and beaches and hills are their playground.

We are so lucky to have found Tails and Trails! Our pup Hudson absolutely loves Josh, and comes home happy and tired from their big adventures. Super reliable, easy and prompt to communicate with, and totally trust him with our hudz. From the photos and videos that are posted, Josh is having at least as much fun as the dogs, if not more so. What more could you want from a dog walker!? 100% recommend. :)

Josh is amazing! He understands dog behaviour and is Victoria's own dog whisperer! He is one of the most happy go lucky guys you will ever meet! He will seriously love your dog/s as much as you do! Josh takes them on big adventures and brings them back smiling and tuckered. He is reliable, honest and trustworthy. Josh sends you photos of your pup/s with all of their little friends, enjoying their daily excursions. Josh was there for me when I lost one of my older dogs...He is such a beautiful human and I had no one... it was the hardest thing I ever went through, I am a single mom, working two full time jobs, with two rescue dogs, two kids, and one cat... I was just trying to balance it all and keep it together... I am forever grateful for his loving and kind heart, and I highly recommend him for so many reasons.
