We've got all the information of people who are using the products of Scotiabank Theatre Saskatoon and VIP (Movie Theater) in the territory of Saskatchewan (Canada).
At present this business receives a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 and the rating is based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings is quite good, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the assessment is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write tatings when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Movie Theater is included in the category of Movie theater.
Awkwardly slow lines for purchasing tickets at the machines. Popcorn lines even slower. I guess you get what you pay for. Oh wait...did I mention it extremely expensive? At least the movie was good.
I really enjoyed the VIP experience for a movie theater. The tickets and slightly more expensive then the regular priced but ultimately they serve at your seat. The seats are also very comfortable. They also have a lounge and what seemed like quality alcohol. I did not order the food but it looked well put together. I did however order the " Unleash the Kraken" drink and that was fantastic, pricy but its 3 oz. Of alcohol, the drinks is massive. I would definitely go again.
Very well organized movie theatre complex
Not impressed with the website or that my payment online was taken TWICE for the same movie and then not processed and I ended up with NO confirmation number or the tickets I was attempted to purchase. When I called the customer service line, it sends me to a robot and then hangs up. GROSS. >: (
By far, the best theatre in Saskatoon. To be fair, there really isn't much else to compare it to. Film selection can become over-saturated with blockbusters and money-makers. I can't fault them for that, but I would like to see the theatre participate in more limited releases. Parking can be an issue, but the biggest drawback is the presence of panhandlers outside the entrance. I know the staff and management are frustrated by their presence and there isn't much they can do, but I would still count it as a negative for the theatre.
A great cinema with comfortable seats and decent food, although I did have to put in 6 weeks overtime to pay for our snacks. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
We did the whole VIP experience and it was great. Good food, good drinks; full menu and lounge service right to your seat. Service was excellent. I'm sure the regular part of the theater was ok too.
Saw Incredibles 2 in IMax. Popcorn wasn't cheap but damn they had a lot of food options. Had a great time & it was easily accessible & Easy to find every thing we needed.
Fell asleep during Ghostbusters, grab a few drinks, highly recommended.
I'm a movie addict. The location isn't great but there's usually enough parking close by, paid and free. The service is good in the VIP and clean too. Food is good.
Scotiabank Theatre food is horrific! I will never go there on an empty stomach again. The theater is pretty good. Awesome sound system and good seating. Too bad the seats don't recline like they should.
The movies themselves are good and generally a pleasant experience, but the money you need to spend for it is ridiculous. Nearly $4 for a drink that I can't even re-fill. A poor arcade that is more often down without notices. Theaters that are hit or miss whether they are at least semi-clean. Overall I wouldn't say it's worth it, but it's the only thereat showing the latest big movies downtown, so most are going there solely for that reason.
love coming to VIP here but the staff in the theatre gets so confused with orders. I had a pass from Costco for a regular popcorn and two drinks, I tried to order this and butter and she was going to charge me $35.00! needless to say i went to the concession myself and got it for $1.10 (extra butter). While seated three servers tried to bring us other people's things. You'd think with seat numbers it wouldn't be that complicated.
Parking access is terrible. Always on the run to renew parking limit, will get a ticket if the limit is over. Other than that it's great. P.S. park somewhere else or park on free parking days
Movie was great but had a hot dog and was sick for 2 days from it. I know cause I felt sick before the movie was even over. Stick to popcorn n candy like the old days.
Average experience. Very low audience dude to standard covid protocol. Theater prices are alway high. But great calamari and nacho platers. Comfortable seats but I wanted more recline.
Best theatre in town. Can be busy and sometimes they only have one person working the walk up til for tickets (which if you have passes you need to use) but otherwise no complaints!
First Cineplex that had the multi select pop machines they've had in the States for years. Love these things. Staff, layout and ambience here are great. One of the best Cineplexs I've ever been to.
Nice theater. Awesome sound. Just need some better discounts on the consessions
Great theater no free parking. The only thing that prevents me from going more often is the parking. .....why no free parking? Huge inconvenience not having parking for customers. Parking!
Mediocre theatre. Like most, the floors are often littered popcorn and spilled pop, but there’s not much they can do about it, unless they constantly clean the floors. The theatre is nice and big. The sound quality is quite a bit better than the Landmark, and the screens are not too bad overall. The concession prices, like any theatre, are through the roof, and it’s absolutely insane. It’s not the theatre’s fault though; it’s corporate that makes that decision, but I usually end up just skipping the concession. Overall, it’s not all that bad. Parking is something a hassle in downtown, and the theatre isn’t really in a good area in downtown. But all in all, it’s not bad, not great.
I mean, it's a movie theater, what can you expect? VIP Is really nice, but I still find the costs of the popcorn and drinks to be outrageously expensive! Tickets aren't half bad on tuesdays, but every other day it's an absurd price. Also, I'd personally prefer if they showed more non-3d options, as they charge more for the 3D movies despite not offering other alternatives, and not everyone likes 3D, myself included!
Need to figure out that if they made things like popcorn more reasonably priced more people would buy it, plus upcharging for the topping(butter????) Is ludicrous!!
The last time, we watched Aladdin 2019 that was pretty cool 3d movie. The theater is always clean, bathrooms are plentiful and the tiles shine! Large comfy seats, food and drinks delivered to your seat. Popcorn and pop are overpriced for sure. The other issue is the vagrants outside at night, you need to aware of that.
Always a great time, VIP is excellent and food is pretty darn good for a movie theatre.
With a variety of theatres that include mixes of regular, AVX and VIP, there are plenty of options, but the accessible seating is poor, leaving those in wheelchairs with no option but to tilt their heads back and look up at the screen, and cleanliness is rarely up to par.
Every time we want to see a movie that was coming in theaters soon this is the must go Theatre, we always have VIP which is comfortable seeds and you can order beer and nachos and food and if that doesn't tickle your fancy and you have a kid with you you can go to the main Theater which is nice and big compared to the theater and Prince Albert
It's your standard corporate first-run cinema. But the staff is always friendly and I always enjoy watching movies there.
It’s such an inconvenience when the only snack you want is just a few feet away from the ticket reciever box, but to get this simple snack you have to pay 50$ to get pass the ticket box before paying an extra 5$ for snack that makes your sad day into a better night... I know I sound like a drama queen, but I had payed for my movie already and finished watching it, but I was too distracted and forgot to get the snack(yes I know, my fault) but, why must I pay 50$ on top of the ticket I payed for the movie just to pass a box that’s filled with ripped pieces of paper? When you really feel down and feel depress and all you want is this snack that reminds you of your happy past, but now unreachable because, one, it’s either too far away and you can’t drive in your state of depression, two you have to pay 50$ just for passing an invisible line to get your snack, but also paying an extra 5$ just for a small snack that is the size of your hand... *inhales and exhales* yeah I had a bad day, but I will always remember this experience because Scotiabank theatre just took a little of my non-depressed childhood away... Why can’t they just move the damn vending machine of snacks to where the rest of the food are?
Went here with family. Was a good experience. Cineplex has a new theatre opened at center mall. Still have to try that and also the landmark theatre at Brighton. I found it as a decent place to watch movies. Parking can be a problem if you are here at busy time. You might want to park and walk if you park at the street. Theatre has parking but I’ve never parked there. Recently they started playing East Indian movies once in a while.
I have personally gone a few times since the VIP theatre opened and It's great! The staff inside the building are very helpful and know what they are doing. HOWEVER. Over the passed 2 weeks I have tried multiple times to buy tickets online and without fail, every time, it doesn't process correctly. Many of my friends have also experienced this same issue. I have TRIED to contact the theatre management but you can never speak to a real person (as they never answer their phone. that's some poor "guest serives" if you ask me). So in order for me to spend over 40 dollars on a pair of tickets, I would then have to spend 10 dollars in gas, and 3 dollars on parking to be inside of the building buying tickets for maybe 5 minutes. Which I know me, or any of friends would never do, as it doesn't make any sense. This is the stupidest customer experience I have ever received ANYWHERE. If someone does not contact me back soon, or fix any of these issues soon I will never be coming back, and I have many friends that will probably do the same. Money lost. Once everything is fixed I will switch to 5 stars, and I will come back with my friends in the future.
Everything is insanely overpriced, the regular theaters are just decent enough to make you pay more for higher AVX or VIP if you want comfy seating.
Very clean building, until you go outside. Otherwise, enjoyed movies there.
My wife had two 'free' movie vouchers, so we decided to go to the big Scotia center movie theatre. After figuring out how to claim the vouchers on the self-serve ticket machine (because no staff were around to help) we were charged an extra $3 per ticket above our 'free' movie voucher because the movie was in a special theatre. The small popcorn my wife bought cost $9! Once in theatre the seats we picked, which were in the middle of the whole seating area we realized were terrible because this special theatre had such a huge screen that we could barely even watch. Luckily the seats werw mostly empty (I wonder why) we could get up and move up several rows a bit further from the screen so we xohld actually watch. Thankfully the seats were very comfy and it was a great movie. All in all, we won't be going back. The regular old movie theatre experience was a better one.
The DBOX seats are worth it. What an experience!
Ridiculously priced. A cocktail was as much as a burger and fries-- about $16. The seats, in comparison to the new style of recliners, were very uncomfortable. We will not return because I literally do not think we can afford it.
Very nice theatre! The one thing they need to figure out is how to not have people chewing like animals in the middle of a movie!
Pricey, especially if your getting food and drinks, but definitely an awesome theatre.
I went for the in the groove 2 machine. It was loud enough and all the buttons worked. The screen was blurry but playable. The staff was quick to make change for me for the arcade as well.
Always a great place to go watch a movie with friends and family. Only thing is they should put more space between chairs.
A pleasant surprise that they have a few vegetarian and vegan options! The takeaway menu has vegetarian items labelled. Dairy-free frozen yogurt options. Three vegan and gluten free snack options (kale chips, coconut chips, bark thins). Staff are always friendly, though can take a bit sometimes to get food. Peak times can be very busy for the concession, line up early. Prices are unsurprisingly quite high for both tickets and food. Drink machines are awesome, I'd recommend Barq's peach + vanilla. Theaters have always been properly cleaned and comfortable, though a very large gripe I have is that there are no staff around in the showing room to remove people who are being disruptive. Overall a good theater, but expensive and it can be slow. If it's a busy time of day, line up for food and other purchases early.
They have some very comfortable seats and you can see the screen quite well from pretty much every seat. Their frozen yogurt is delicious.
Like any movie theatre, prices are quite high for okay quality products. Seats are showing their age and are not quite comfortable as they once were, clearly the money spent by movie goers is not spent on maintaining the space. The addition of new menu items is nice and welcomed but with the lack of refill options for soda or popcorn is a little sad.
I took my sister to see Black Panther in 3D in VIP for her birthday expecting a superior experience. While the movie was excellent, the cameras were out of focus and not properly aligned so you saw doubles and the central figures were blurry. I normally try to see things in 2D so I thought it was just me and spent most of the movie with my eyes closed. Every time there was an action scene the blur and doubling was so bad I was getting nauseated. Unfortunately after the movie, as we left, my sister said she was sorry, she knew I forked or a small fortune for the tickets and food but the screen was so blurry she too spent all her time fighting the urge to vomit. Oh right, the food! It was bad. The fry at the bottom of the McDonald's bag found three days later would taste better. We did try to find a manager or someone to suggest they get it in focus before tomorrow but there was no one around that could help us. Overall, if you really want to see a movie in theaters, stick to the regular theaters. Their VIP theaters are an excellent argument for waiting for a movie to be released on Netflix.
Expensive and the chairs aren't as good as the other theater in town but I still enjoy going there. You just have to watch out for homeless people and others outside since it's not a good part of town
Saw a movie in the older theatre. The seating in their older theatres can't compare to the newer theatres in the city. They should charge less.
Best theatre in Saskatoon. Always has a good selection of movies as well as multiple versions of tickets. This theatre has VIP, so you can enjoy a meal and alcohol while watching a movie. Food is expensive and not worth the price.(From the front concession) As well some cleaning appliances may not be cleaned properly by staff, so eat at your own risk. I would recommend trying out a bar nearby to eat, then go see a show. We have a great selection of bars in that area!
The last time we went to Scotia Bank theatre was to see birds of Prey, that was 18 months ago, we just saw the black widow, excellent movie
was expecting to see a large crowd on a friday nigh to watch a 007 movie but not really
Friendly service, sometimes a bit of a wait on food and drinks but understandable, seats are comfy and never feel crowded in the VIP which is great for introverts or anyone with anxiety really.
I really like this theatre and especially the VIP! The food options are great! Regular theatres are always clean and the seats are so comfortable. Only complaint is that the concessions can be quite slow but better now that the drinks are self serve.
The Vip is worth it! We went for a date and ate some food, hand a nice drink. No screaming kids and the servers where excellent! It was a little higher prices but for the whole total to watch the movie, have a bite and a beer it was more then worth it.
A good movie theatre, but compared to the landmark cinema it is a waste to go here. The seating is more cramped, and food lines can get long. The lighthouse across the street also has people wandering in and outside the building begging for money, which does not make for a great moviegoing experience. However, one of my favorite things about this theatre and other cineplex theatres is the flashback film and classic film showings. Bringing classics like the Indiana Jones Trilogy, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Citizen Kane and many others back onto the silver screen is a wonderful way to experience these movies! For this reason alone, I'm at this theatre far more often than others, both because of the good selection of classics and I do not enjoy the current action/superhero trend of new movies. Tl;Dr Decent theatre, lighthouse across street brings people begging for money, but they show classic movies so I'm here more than other theatres.
Enjoyed the food and a beer before the movie but they didn't serve me in the theatre. I missed out on popcorn and a drink. I tried flagging them down but they never came by at all. Also $9 for a draft beer is pricey. Not sure what the VIP adds if anything! Don't waste your money.
This theater needs drink and popcorn refills and recliner seats. Also needs free parking. Please fix broken arcade machines.
Place has kind of gone downhill, theater had pop and garbage all over the place last time I was there. Like they don't clean anymore.. Sad for the price you pay. More and more for less and less. Landmark is looking good!
VIP section was nice. Would have been perfect without the bros talking during the movie while clunking their pints everytime someone died in Endgame.
Saw "Free Guy" in the VIP theater. Great movie, good service, so-so chairs.
It was cool to go to a movie and sit in comfortable seats with side table and have your food order taken and served before the movie begins. Great sound and 3D movies are shown here. A nice change from the regular movies venue.
Comfortable seating and great sound and staff friendly but concession could be quicker. I used to work in concession and my service quality was much more efficient
Leaving here a 1 start because of their requirement to show proof of vac. Hope there will be less and less people to come to the show time.
Hadn't been to this theatre in awhile, so I was a little dumbfounded when there was no till had to figure out how to buy a ticket on their machine. Then I went and bought a drink and got handed an empty cup. Then I went and stood with a bunch of people that were waiting for the concession guy to run over and rip their tickets. So, I would say a little shirt on service. All this being said, they are the only theatre that picks up shows like The Grateful Dead's Meet Up At The Movies, the Met Opera's simulcasts, etc. So there you go.
Thank you for hard work during this time! I was still able to enjoy a movie on my birthday
Tickets for same movie are overpriced. The one speakers were crackling on the last movie we watched on hall 6. Fries popcorn, and drinks are highest cost in the city with no free refills for popcorn. Theatre is old. You pay for parking if you find one nearby. By the time you are done, it is more expensive than landmark and significantly more than odeon or rainbow cinemas.
VIP theatre is a very nice experience. Picture and sound are perfect and I enjoy the "first class" treatment. Surprisingly, I find that the big cushy chairs make my back ache. If not for that, I'd be giving five stars.
No staff, prices for combos went up and the free movie deal is now a rip off with only one drink. COME ON!! $80 for 2 people to see a movie. Are you kidding me?!
Nothing spectacular. Adequate audio/visual quality. There was nothing that elevated this theatre to exceed my expectations.
Great seating in the theatres, concession selection is good, but expensive. Nice place to go, but if your surroundings aren't important then other theatres in town are cheaper
Too expensive!!! Prices range up to $25 per movie and no legroom nor recliners like the new landmark theater. staff are typically lost and clueless and are unable to answer the simplest questions. Bad area of town for parking at night.. My car was vandalized thanks to the dammed homeless shelter and those kinds of people hanging out causing problems.
Always a great experience seeing movies here. Parking is a bit of an issue and pan handling can be a problem some days
Expensive, but worth it. Screens are very big. Most movies you can pick your seats. The app lets you buy tickets and reserve seats online. Concession stand line can be a long wait, so get there early. VIP is pretty awesome, as well. Comfy seats, great bar, though the food can be pricey.
Very clean and enjoyable experience. It was almost vacant. Good family recreation during Covid.
The staff was nice, the quality of the song and image great, but something was smelling bad close to our seats, like stinky feet, mustiness, I'm not sure exactly, but it was really hard to ignore. AUD 4, seat F8.
This is a very nice/ clean theater. It also has the option for IMAX. Snacks are a little expensive. I liked the theater and the staff was friendly.
The newest and most comfortable chain theatre in the city. They recently added a VIP theatre which includes even nicer seating along with food and alcohol service at your seat prior to the show starting.
Went to a movie, tickets printed were for wrong time. Got that sorted out, then found out the movie was in 3D, which we didn't want. Once the movie started, the 3D did not work, and they restarted the movie after 15 minutes. Will be going to Landmark for future movies.
Overrated and not personable establishment, odd movie selection
It's really good for going with the family. But the most important is the movie. Maybe you need to search about TimePlay. Good luck. And don't forget ever, be really to much happiness. We see us.
Apart from no parking (except paid one) and long lines at the concession stands, pretty good theater otherwise. IMAX, D-Box, VIP, it has everything you need in a movie theater.
This is my favourite theater in town. That being said, I have a few nit-pics. The first is the teller.. I miss having a person to talk to. I know that having multiple machines is perhaps more efficient, but they can break down & cause problems. The price for a night out here? Expensive. But this is the case for many good things, so we won’t dwell on it. My experiences with staff here have been better than other theatres, but that can be subjective to who’s working. The arcade. No thank you. A friend & I tried it out once.. not a pleasant experience & too much to get into. I haven’t been back & don’t plan to, but hopefully it has improved. I like VIP but rarely have the finances to afford it. I find though that as far as seat comfort goes, I prefer AVX over VIP. Leg room & service & all that, VIP all the way. I like when the theater has older shows and when they have the special features such as all the movies in a series playing in one day; a movie marathon. I also love the Scene Points program & all that entails. So: over all I rate it 5/5. Some bits & pieces here & there or on their own, 3/5. But of course it has no real competition..
Really comfortable and easy to access for anyone, even the little ones. This is our second living room to watch movies, I tell ya.
Not very busy today. Social Distancing and all necessary precautions taken for Covid-19. They even do contact tracing as you come in the door.
This is a great theatre. VIP is awesome though expensive. You can get food and frozen yogurt. I really enjoy assigned seating.
They've done a great job modernizing this theater. The VIP and UltraAVX additions make for a great movie experience.
The Scotiabank VIP theatre in Saskatoon attempts a premium viewing experience but falls short on the details. The seats and assigned seating is great, the seat service is usually ok, but the lighting in the theatre is terrible. Part of premium movie experience is seeing the entire production on a big screen. I don't care about the car commercials, (though I would be pissed if I was paying for ads) the bit where you can barely see the screen for the previews and worse yet, if there is anything in the credits you want to see, like the post credit sequences that every third movie has now, you can't really see that either because they turn on the house lights. The house lights in a premium theatre should not be reflecting on the screen but for some reason in the VIP theatres they are so badly placed that they reflect on 2/3 of the screen.
Great theatre, reclining seats, and good sound. Would like the popcorn and drinks to be more affordable.
Great theatre although no parking and unsafe neighbourhood. Not a place you would drop off your kids on their own to go see a movie.
Not super happy about changing how to buy tickets either electronically or just from the popcorn people, they have a lot to do already. But has a well designed feel of entertainment.
High quality theater. Kinda sad that it put the other theaters out of business though. Quite a few screens and comfortable seats. I enjoy collecting the scene points for free movies.
The seats were comfy, the quality of the movie was great, but the volume was beyond too loud. I'm not old and I felt like my ear drums were going to explode. The volume was so excessive that you couldn't even understand what was being said …
Love going to the movies. The only bad thing is the gross butter that they charge you for. The popcorn is much better without the butter!
Large comfy seats, food and drinks delivered to your seat. Helpful staff. Good spot for a $50/person night out. Parking is expensive unless you can find a spot on the street.
It was great, staff were helpful and the theatre wasn't over packed. I'd complain about the food costing more than the movie, but I can't; it's to be expected.
VIP is the bomb! Am zing. The person/s who came up with this deserves an award. Nice seats, the food, general service is awesome!
Always friendly staff on shift. Food is delicious (especially their brownie!) Always have to get a delicious fishbowl or sangria when i see go see a movie.
Very good, but ac runs so cold air!
Huge theatres and great seat layouts even people with comically large hats won’t obstruct your view
I'd have to say that the only reason I give it 4/5 instead of 5 is just due to the parking situation. In the winter it can be troublesome to find parking close to the theatre, and free parking is not an option, but it is downtown so that can be expected. The amount of available spots leaves a bit to be desired though. The building itself is great, lots of theatre's with a wide range of showtimes. The new drink machines are also great where you can choose your flavors and have some options. Prices are comparable to any other Cineplex theatre.
Food is expensive, but theatre experience is nice, and the UltraAVX theatre is pretty immersive. However, the audio skipped a couple times during the movie and threw me off. Besides that, it was fairly nice, would recommend.
I went to see Mockingjay on Sun. Dec 13th 2015 and was totally disappointed , first with the 30 minutes of advertisements and then with the movie. If i wanted to watch TV I would have just stayed home ! It's no wonder people are downloading movies to watch at home, it's bad enough we have to watch all these garbage adds on TV, I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay to watch them at the theater!
We are frequent flyers at this theatre and go to every opening night of most big blockbuster movies. I like that theyre changing up the ticket pickup areas, but we've had some trouble coming in to buy advance tickets from this theatre. The app and the theatre itself won't have certain tickets for certain dates but the website will. I'm also consistently disappointed that they turn the lights on during post credits scenes, but on my most recent visit the lighting seemed better, so maybe this has changed.
nice seats, the imax was a very very nice experience when I was watching the Beauty & the Beast movie, food is good, I also really like the atmosphere and that when you enter the theatre there is a lot of things that will keep you busy. For instance, games and whatnot. Overall 5/5 pretty good. nothing bad to say so far.
Me and my son Cody went to go see a movie here. My mom's in her late 60s and got us tickets I told her center cinemas she accidentally got downtown by accident. A women usdher on Saturday May 8th at 7pm asked for our tickets I asked why then I showed her then asked us to leave she will ecort us out I said we can leave on our own recognition and she called security and we where excorted out like criminals me and my 13 year old son. We been coming to this theatre for years. And 2020 and 2021 we supported this theatre once a week for a year straight I have the recipes in my email to prove our purchases we are 101% honest customers. we where wronged by escorted out and security to show up. We left and felt wronged we tried to explained but nothing was said after we left shame experience for being honest patrions trying to tell what happened and why with our tickets. We won't be coming back here anymore and we will be telling our friends and family about our experience! I uploaded a screen shot one one of the pages of numerous tickets we got at this location as a patron I have hundreds more in my inbox for years of us being good customers here.
Quality of food was good and I was able to watch a movie that wasn't being shown anywhere else. However paid parking, expensive food and poor quality seats left much to be desired. Maybe make the parking paid but then reinburse the parking price by showing the ticket?
I love how they have the Scotia Bank theatre located in the heart of downtown right by the river. It is a great place for a casual date, if you go to an earlier movie you get the chance to have a nice evening strol down by the river if you want or go for drinks after at your local pub!. The VIP is wonderful, very comfortable seats and you even get served right at your seat without having to wait in line for food. The place is pretty clean for the most part. The only issue I have about this theatre is the popcorn in the regular theatre is quite crumby and half the time burnt so will not be wasting my money on popcorn there. The snacks are a little high priced but they do have a great variety of things to munch on while you are at the movie. They have pleanty of screens so all the good movies go there first. Great place to go for some relaxing entertainment. I just wish they would fix the quality of their popcorn as that is one of the main snacks to have while watching movies.
We took our 6 year old son to see Avengers Endgame today...everyone was absolutely incredible especially the girl who went to the back to find an Uggly Doll our son wanted for his Pop topper(She was Awesome)...and the movie didn't disappoint as it proved to be the best Marvel movie ever made...We can't wait to see what Phase 4 brings out...
Today I went to see Aquaman with my mom. Movie was good, staff was good, theater was good. But the lenses of the 3D glasses were all scratched up on both our pairs. We grabbed different pairs from the seats around us that weren't being used.
While there’s nothing unexpected about the experience of going to the movies this theatre tends to deliver a good experience every time. We prefer the VIP on Tuesdays for a quieter, cheaper experience. Parking can sometimes be a pain so plan accordingly.
No kids. 19 plus. Heaven.
Trying to talk to a human is almost IMPOSSIBLE worst darn time I ever had trying to navigate the on line and can NEVER get anyone to talk too. I hope soon someone will start a bett theater so I can see some movies and get the RIGHT information
I've gone to this theater my whole life, don't get me wrong, I love it, but there are very serious issues that need to be addressed. Coming out of the theater at anytime after dark, which is extremely normal for most people, is not safe whatsoever. There are A LOT of questionable people loitering around the doors; I can't even count the number of times people have asked me for money, cigarettes, given me "compliments" I didn't ask for and I have even been FOLLOWED to my car. I don't feel safe in a large group, and most definitely not by myself. They absolutely need to get at least two security guards by the doors or even at the very, very least put up more lights by the entrance, all around the building and in their parking lots. I hope so much that this issue can be fixed as it is getting worse very quickly. When going here late, always bring a buddy.
I was there on premiere of My little pony movie. Quite nice and good place to go. I would like to thank nice staff and good toys that we bought. One thing to has to be mentioned is chair. Is all chair in room are dings? The chair where we sat were unforgettably notcomfortable. Looks like it was broken. Please pay attention.
Amazing theatre. Love the VIP addition with diner and a movie, great service and extremely comfortable seats. Never disappoints.
I love this theatre. The food always tastes amazing. The video and sound quality is always excellent, the staff are nice. I have gone to the VIP theatre and dang it was spectacular. You can order food and alcohol straight to your seat. I just wish you could borrow blankets to cuddle up with your partner though (I went to the IPic theatre in Arizona and they had this which was great since theatres are always so cold). Other than that though, it's great
Charge way to much for a movie and food...The Land Mark Theater is the one for me and my friends. Comfortable seating with reasonable prices, for food and drinks.
Best cinema ever. Excellent
VIP experience was pretty cool. Foods a bit pricey but can't imagine it wouldn't taste good. Everyone is pretty friendly and happy to serve you. Definitely do a VIP experience again if I have a chance too!
This place is incredible! I feel every theater should be like this the food was awesome the service was awesome it was straight up awesome! Awesome!????????
The price for movies are too damn high! $25 dollars for a movie ticket, $25 dollars for popcorn a drink and a candy bar, and then I go to refill my drink only to be told No refills. For $50 dollars for an hour and a half I’m sure I more than paid for 1 refill. Greedy. ????
My husband and I go to the VIP theatre anywhere from 1-4 times a month. To date, the ticket machine to retrieve my tickets off my email never, ever scans. We have to manually enter the code for the tickets to print. Secondly, several times now we have received very poor service in the VIP lounge. Takes 10-15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge you and ask if you want a beverage. There have been times we are the only one in the lounge as everyone else went into the theatre and it's taken 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. I feel they are catering to patrons who sit in the theatre and order opposed to patrons sitting in the lounge prior to going into the theatre. One waiter greets us in the lounge saying the theatre is now open for service. We take this as "go into the theatre to order and eat, not here in the lounge". There were 6 of us waiting for a lounge waiter prior to going into the theatre and being helped immediately by an order taker. I would expect higher customer service for the price we pay. There are also three separate times the 3D projector wasn't on for when the 3D movie started resulting in everyone being confused and missing the beginning of the movie. A customer had to go look for an employee to turn it on. For all the above reasons, I can only score a 3.
Watching a movie here is amazing. Love the VIP experience from the moment you enter the lounge till you go home into the theater.
nothing to see much here aside from the mini arcade inside the building. If you just want to watch a movie then this place is just right for you. They have good pilot-like chairs and great cinematic sounds.
Amazing place for movies and live sports events. Best popcorn in the city; only giving three stars for two reasons. The first being that they don't have unlimited refills, which I think is "stupid". The second being that I rarely ever actually see the security guard and I always have people asking for either a smoke or change. (I don't even smoke!)
Hit and miss. It's not cheap, but the theatres are in great shape and comfortable. VIP is a nice option. The parking in the area is pretty horrid. Unless you can get on the street, you're doomed to an overpriced lot that only will give you so much time so if you arrive early to a long movie, expect a parking ticket.
They do not keep the floor inside the auditoriums clean, it was uncomfortable sticky the row where I sat.
The regular seating is good but not anything special. The seats are comfortable and the popcorn is good. The VIP theater lets you order food, desserts and alcoholic drinks. The seat are very comfortable and you get lots of space to yourself.
Security put way too much effort into making sure bf didn't bring his skateboard into the theatre, and answered my question about my tickets in just 1 sentence before going back to chastising my bf.
Inside the theater was nice. Pretty clean and a good temperature (nothing worse than a theater that feels like - 20). The biggest issue I had was parking. In from out of town so maybe I just didn't know, but I could not for the love of me find parking. There were a couple spots in the streets and there was a gravel lot behind the theater but there were signs that said reserved 24/7. Ended up finding parking but it took me almost 15 minuets to find a spot.
Nothing but lineups, line up for tickets, then food, then drinks, then to swipe your tickets. I don't want to line up then pay way too much then serve myself not my idea of a night out...
Okay - Everyone is likely saying it, so I'll say it too: The concession prices are insanely high. Now that that's out if the way, I do appreciate the way this Cineplex location has gone out of its way to add features/options: everything from digital screened pop machines to adding an (albeit, small) IMAX screen. If I had to choose one thing to change, I'd put "fences" along the concession lines to keep people organized, and have a single, slightly wider line in between every two tills for people to "exit" the concession area from (kind of like lane swimming in a pool) so that you don't have to leave by pushing back through the same line you just waited in. I think this would dramatically help high-volume times.
Nice movie theatre with variety of different screens (Regular, AVX, VIP, etc) but the parking situation is atrocious. The walk to and from your car can feel pretty sketchy at times due to the area of town it's in and its proximity to The Lighthouse.
This is one of the better movie theaters this city has. Only complaint is there is no free parking and they can be hard to find. Main disadvantage of being located in downtown.
The movie was awesome ,everyone was very helpful .Seats reclined, was very comfortable .
I love the building, I love that there is a VIP section and how there is quite the selection of snacks and drinks. However! I am not satisfied with the popcorn! Everytime I go it’s either cold, burnt and always crumby! I’ve worked at theatres before and know how proper popcorn tastes like and they are definitely not doing it right. So I’ll definitely never get popcorn here again.
Just spent 20 dollars on an Uber. To find the advertised matinee wasn't on..... looked it up on web and showed today at 2pm....grrrr
Went to the VIP theater. It's pricy hut was worth it. The food you can order is really good and the service is quick.
I just want to know why your Uber eats people don’t deliver to Kensington. It’s less than 15 minutes away from the theater. That’s so stupid! My sis lives five minutes away and gets deliver but I can’t. You guys need to step it up because Saskatoon is a small city and your delivery radius is ridiculous! Get some more drivers or something! Get it done please.
Good service, great sound.
VIP is the way to go. Good food and drinks and reclining seats.. who could ask for more when watching a good movie.
I watched the Mayweather vs McGregor fight in the VIP cinema. The VIP service was prett good, and the food was decent but over priced. I would give the VIP theatre a better rating, but I was really disappointed when they let the fight feed cut out for almost the entire fourth round because no one was monitoring the projection. They made no apology for the problem, and it's clear that then staff and managment don't care.
Had a wonderfully great evening with my partner and enjoyed the movie, but it's the unenthused staff and ridiculously over priced service that makes even a movie on my cell phone seem more appealing.
Amazing BLASTING LOUD MUSIC and good quality visual and seating
A great theatre! Always very clean. Good sound quality, and sound proofing between theatres. The only tricky part is the parking; because it's downtown, finding a place to park is often very difficult.
Without a doubt the best theatre in Saskatoon the IMAX is a great experience and the D-Box is something completely different but just as cool. The viewing experiences offered are great and coupled with clean theatres and a great staff that work hard to ensure the environment remains a great place to watch a movie.
The theatre has acceptable prices for general tickets! It costs $12.50 per ticket (Tax Included)! I myself find it reasonably affordable & it is a great family & friend hotspot to make memories & have a fun time!
Seen the new Spider-Man
Try find parking:( And not the venues fault but come out from a movie late at night and it gets sketchy walking past the Lighthouse clientele. Not a great location.
Great night out. Parking can be an issue. Popcorn not that great but better than Rainbow. Staff friendly and happy.
Poutine was cold the gravy didn't melt the cheese. Wait staff in V.I.P. are the worst. An hour before show time should be enough for a coupl drinks.... good luck getting even one before the show.
Love this movie theater. Can't wait for more movies to come out so my visits here are more frequent.
Went to see Avengers yesterday in VIP. We walked to the concession stand and there was a man working who completely ignored us until we asked again for help. He seemed annoyed and told us we would have to go to the bar because the till wasn’t working. Another bump in the road but none the less, stuff happens. We went to the bar and there was 3 separate people working at the bar, along with another young woman working as the “hostess”. While at the bar, there was a couple of men that had an extremely large order however once again, it happens. The bartender seemed to have a lot of issues ringing in and processing their order, while we stood for at least 10 minutes, not kidding I timed it! It was ridiculous. As for the other 3 ladies working, not a single one even acknowledged us. I couldn’t believe it. On top of all of this, we were forced to wait in line at the concession which was terribly busy in order to get our tickets, as the vouchers do not work online or on the kiosk. This entire experience was extremely frustrating. I don’t believe we will be coming back, used to be a great theatre, especially in VIP where you’re paying extra for the features and customer service.
It is good but not great, I have a particular love by theatre that allow to choose the seat, not the case on this one. Of course I would go again.
Prices here suck pretty hard, I do not like the lack of free Refills for drinks and the Restrooms here almost all have broken locks on the normal theater area, the VIP section is nice the prices are too steep the menu selection kinda sucks. Cineplex needs to lower their prices and get more workers out in the areas to clean the places up and get more people on the counters.
Nice place to watch movie with your friends or by yourself if you want. Decent Auditorium s, Sounds are good, Food is Good but pricey, The staff are friendly, Popcorn can be a hit or miss. Sometimes its crunchy and new. Some bad luck time you'll get the old gummy popcorn.
Had the place to ourselves for Spiderman. Clean, good sound, bathrooms and lobby clean. The employees were great
The most popular movie going place in the city! Line ups usually aren't terrible, they're well equipped when it comes to staff. Just make sure you show with extra time on your hands incase they're already busy. It's not their fault if you show up 5 minutes before your movie and have to wait in line for popcorn.
Always a good time and friendly environment and service.
Great theater with very friendly. Only downside is the high cost of IMAX tickets. If you're looking for a night out and don't mind paying a little extra for a unique movie experience, I highly recommend.
Went to the IMAX last night to see the movie Solo 3D. The movie was great a little loud but good I found the background always blurry though, and it made me think that it was my glasses.
Love this theatre, it's expensive but worth it the chairs are so comfortable and they bring you food and drinks right to the seats I love it.
Place itself is wonderful. Loving the VIP experience. I would say, as most people are already aware, the food and drinks are quite high. Between two people, expect to spend at least around $50-$70 (or more) if you're in the VIP area, and around $40-55 ( or more) for standard - that is with food/drinks/ and your tickets. Go early and find yourself free parking (if going after 6pm mon-sat) and save yourself some bucks!
Good service not overly inviting but welcoming however the theatre seats were worn and could use new padding but I had a great time dispute not being able to purchase a slurpy cause it wasn't available but I'll got back to night if I had tickets the popcorn was just right
Just got my wallet back from the this theatre. It's June 25th. I lost it on May 8th, and narrowed down where it must be fairly quickly. I called and left a description with my name and number (and the cinema and seat I was in) a few days later, and visited in person a few days after that just in case. Apparently it was found on June 1st. This past Sunday, June 23, I was messaged on Facebook with nothing but a "????" by a total stranger, followed by two more "????", before she finally sent me a message in English text explaining she was a manager there, that they think they had an "item" of mine, and that I could come down and identify it. When I did, and I asked the staff working why it took so long, how often it was cleaned, why I wasn't contacted, the best answer I could get was that there were shadowy places in the cinema and it must have just been missed. Missed. For the better part of a month, not to mention the 23 days it took to even attempt to contact me. What happened here? How often do they clean these places? Why was there no effort to contact me for so long, and why did someone have to do so on Facebook rather than call the number I left? Even now that I have the wallet back, it's worthless; I've bought a new wallet by now, of course, and all of my cards have been replaced - many at a cost to myself. There's very little that makes me angry, but this did it. Not likely to shell out the ridiculous prices for a show there again anytime soon.
I always love the VIP theatre and food choices are amazing. The reclining seats made watching movies more comfortable :)
Went to see "The Case for Christ" this afternoon. Great acting, great account of the true story of Lee Strobel, an investigative journalist for the Chicago Tribune. When his wife became a Christian, he set out to prove that Jesus Christ did not raise from the dead and that Christianity was a hoax.
The seats are comfy with lots of room. Seats recline and the arm rests can move up for more space. There are a lot if snack options. The soda machine is customizable with several sugar free options. They even had Pibb Xtra which is like Dr. Pepper. There is a Yogenfruz! The lobby also features a games room.
Great place to watch a movie. Friendly staff and always clean theatres. Concession prices could be way better
AWESOME! Thoroughly enjoyed it! The seats are so comfortable and it's really a nice touch to have food and beverage service to your seat! It's a step up from the ordinary and I'll be hard pressed to see a movie in a regular theater again!
It's a good time when you're in the building, but not so much when you're bombarded by homeless people asking you for money...
Pretty good as far as theatres go! The usual over-priced snack options as any other theatre.
Great theater with the VIP and the IMAX there are always lots of options to check out. Definitely go here
Not much of a choice when it comes to movie theatres in Saskatoon but this one is usually fairly clean and the seats are reasonably comfortable in the "general" theatres.
Once you go VIP, you'll never go back to 'normal' theatre. Selection is pretty good, and ordering from your seat is great. Has never been full when I've went, and prices are very reasonable.
Went to the I max and would not recommend it for people with glasses as I couldn't watch the movie as it was nothing but fuzzy out lines of people on the screen even with the IMAX glasses on would never waste my money there again only have one star as it is the lowest
Great location huge cinema with many theaters lots of stuff around to do after
Really enjoy the VIP experience. I wish they would offer fewer 3D movies and focus on the regular screenings.
Good theatre for seeing dune in Imax. Weird, but there are no washrooms in the main area, so you have to go through the ticket checker both.
I went to the Imax theatre here for the first time & it wasn't as good as I remember IMAX being as a child, but the seats were comfortable, seat selection is free, there is lots of leg room, your chair leans back and the screen covers the entire wall. The only downside is it can get too loud during certain scenes.
Great facility and location, highlighting newer theatre techologies. Condiment prices are excessive. Parking can be a problem.
This was my 1st time in a very long time sitting in the regular seats.(free ticket to avengers endgame, otherwise I wouldn't have went) And well I don't like it, have to share armrests, which usually means 1 arm gets nothing sometimes both. Plus no leg room, and not just for sitting, if someone from the middle area needs out ppl in that row have to stand up to make enough room for that person to pass... I usually sit in VIP at this location, solves couple of those problems, but adds another... Price, too expensive for lil bit more leg and arm room.... lately I've actually been going to the other theatre chain Landmark. Same price as regular admission at Cineplex plus recliner seats, lots of leg room! And free parking!
I love the big theatres best. Always enjoy the movies! Very polite staff
Great place for netflix and chill vibes. Staff is chill as fawk too. Going to the bathrooms alone is sketchy asf doe. Take a partner lol
My favourite movie experience. VIP is great if you want a beer or cocktail and away from kids. 19+
Standard cookie cutter Cineplex theatre. VIP lounge is a little on the expensive side, but paying more for leather seats, to see same movie on regular screen.
The lounge/waiting area is really messy all the time. I can understand that there are people dropping popcorn kernels and what not, but I rarely see anyone cleaning any of this up. Prices on food is straight up overpriced, and the popcorn wasn't all that great and made me feel sick afterwards. The actual theater however is really nice. A nice large screen and great sound system. If you choose the right movie, Dbox seating can be a real treat too!
Had a great time back row with my tinder date.... Don't worry we just holding hands.
If I could give this place zero stars I gladly would. I think people in Saskatoon like this theatre because there aren’t many theatres in town and simply because this is a modicum nicer than the main theatre (attached to it) they think it’s great. I personally have rarely had great experiences here since it opened (been there at least twenty times since it opened) and after last weekend I wonder if I will ever bother going back. The “seat service” was terrible. My husband ordered a popcorn and it arrived cold with soggy, wet, cold topping. He asked for another and got the exact same thing. I decided to get a drink during the show and there was nobody at the concession. I stood there for a really long time and was anxious about missing so much of the show so I gave up after close to ten minutes. When we were leaving the show there was still nobody at the concession because we stopped there to mention the popcorn issue to them - ours was still untouched and it was super expensive!! Our food bill for seat service was 45.00 for popcorn, coke, 6 oz wine and a perogie appetizer. We were really unhappy because all the food was cold and I got no sour cream with my appetizer but a TON of onions. We waited again at the concession (we could hear loud taking and laughing from the back) but again we gave up. Around the corner on the way out, five employees were just standing around visiting and laughing and generally goofing around. “Have a great night!” They cheerfully cried as we left. Ugh. The bathrooms needed attention, there were SO MANY TRAILERS AND ADS BEFORE THE SHOW and honestly for some reason at this theatre people never stop talking. Not even sure if it’s worth going to the movies in Saskatoon anymore... I guess if you can accept mediocre service and you really want to see a show - that’s what you’ve got.
This movie theater is top of the line. There are options to purchase tickets ahead and scan your phone at the ticket wick. Food options are great for a movie theater, 3D movies and the VIP experience. Theater goers may critique this place for not having 4D and higher level showings, but it’s a bit of optics in my view
Don't really like the fact that they removed the cashiers from the front. The terminals are not very explicit with huge assumptions made that people will make that leap. Yes this was to intentionally make you wonder what I am talking about. Similar to assumptions on the terminal. Frustrating! ????
One of the better theatres in Saskatoon and is the only one with IMAX and D-box seats. Also has VIP seats. Unfortunate that’s its situated downtown.
It's ok. And provides a modest theater experience. The VIP theater is a better experience but for the increased price it is hard to recommend. Especially since there is another Theater Chain in the city that provides a much better experience at a lower price.
Great screens, comfortable seating, friendly and gracious staff, awesome food, can't go wrong !
They keep the lunch menu to 6 or 7 simple choices, then execute the menu to perfection. I would not hesitate to try any one of the specials. It was delicious.
Always a pleasant experience, although ordering it multiple apps to share in the theatre is a logistical issue, when it comes to sharing. Stick to one plate per seat.
It's a large theatre with lots of options for food, popcorn, arcade games and clean washrooms. The VIP part of the theatre is pretty snazzy, but you're going to pay about double for the experience (which can include having food delivered to you in your extra-wide seats with a lap tray)! The only downsides that we've found have been: the food part of the concession often runs out of food options and that the parking around the theatre is a hassle. There are two large paid parking lots on either side of the theatre, but there is hardly ever any street parking in front of the theatre. We had an experience there the other day where there was a swearing, screaming inebriated woman sitting a couple of seats away from us so my husband complained and the staff dealt with the woman efficiently and professionally. We were impressed. Go early to make sure you can find and pay for parking, and have a great time!
AVX and VIP have the best seats. VIP is good if you want a drink and appies, AVX had the big screen. They need to redo the seating in the regular theatres. Prices are high like you expect going to the movies but it is a lot cleaner than some others I have been to.
I am giving this rating for the VIP section only. The bar and restaurant of the VIP section are very clean, and you are getting your money's worth from the experience. The movie seats and the in-seat service are really nice, and I am a fan. The price difference, depending on the movie, is generally worth it. My wife and I have regularly gone and felt content with our decision. Good for dates if you want to impress or have a good time. It doesn't make bad movies more bearable, however, haha.
Best theatre in Saskatoon. Great selection of movies, staff are friendly, and it's quite clean. Unfortunately some of the screens are dirty, which is the reason I go to theatre.
Wonderful family experience. Great in seat service for VIP. Can't wait to go again.
I am biased about using the VIP theatre downtown, but the service is amazing. We usually arrive early to have drinks and food in the lounge, and then head into the theatre to order our movie drink and popcorn. Never worrying about rushinh to our seats because they are assigned. Then when we get to our seat, the people who take your orders are super nice and fast. They bring out everything as it's ready. So drinks are the fastest, popcorn next and any meals arrive as they are finished. They even think to bring you extra napkins! We recently forgot our umbrella out at the lounge and realized it when the movie was over 2hrs later. Our waiter put it aside for us and when we walked through the lounge to leave he ran over to give it to us! Just super nice service. It's definitely why we only see movies that play in the VIP theatre now. You just can't go back to the regular theatre after having experienced the VIP!
Movies. Pizza. Popcorn. Not the cheapest place to watch movies, but it is the best in town. VIP is a good experience, just don't sit in the front row. Yes you can recline all the way, but that's because you have to in order to see the whole screen. Popular location for buskers/beggars and general "undesirables" and as a result doesn't always feel safe at night.(outside)
It has some descent snacks and the theatres are amazing. They also have arcade games but some of them were broken when I was there.
Great theater with a nice selection of food if a little pricy for the quality you are receiving, haven't tried the VIP experience yet but I have only heard good things. Just feel they should be more diligent on utilizing all of the available tills when it gets busy.
Guess what. They wont let you use the washroom without your ticket cause all the washrooms are behind the ticket booth ripper place where all the theaters are so they won't let you pass cause they think your trying to sneak in ????
Did not feel safe going. Panhandlers outside the door. My seat was broken and it generally felt unclean.
The main theatre to go to in Saskatoon. Reserved seating is where it is at! VIP is nice, especially if you get there early, so you can take advantage of the food service at your seat. DBox seats in the AVX theatre are fun for the big action movies.
Went to movie March 11, 2021 - Lord of the rings - was very disappointed with the theater. While they give lip service to doing covid prevention items, they had a line up at door to give names for contact tracing, line at concession with both open tills right beside each other. I had chosen my seat in advance and was basically center and seating chart indicated that seats were to be blocked off all around me. So two people in row behind decided that they liked center as well so they sat directly behind me so there was not a 2 meter spread. No theater staff came into theater during movie. If this leads to an outbreak I would not be surprised.
Love Cineplex VIP.. Good range of foods and drinks..
Great seats, great service, all movie theatres should be like this! The popcorn was pretty good too.
Arcade ate most of the coins and the staff didn't care to fix the problem. For the staff that were on the floor were on their phones and not thrilled to be at work. Made the experience sub par... this is why I dont go here too often.
I personally did not like the picture quality. Otherwise it's awesome
The movies are great, I find the food area lacking in cleanliness. The drink stations are all sticky and popcorn everywhere. We also had a bad experience in VIP with our drinks and food, and when we brought it up nothing was done. We received a sorry and no help to correct the problem.
My go to for movie experiences. Never had a problem. Theater is always clean, bathrooms are plentiful and the tiles shine! The only issue is the vagrants outside at night, but they seem to have added security to fix this too!
Without any real competition Scotia Theatre is the place to go in Saskatoon. The V.I.P lounge is fantastic. The regular theatre great as well, my only complaint is it always seems like the staff is stressed to the max. Even when it's not overally busy. It's not poor customer service, but I've never really had an customer service experience that has wow'd me in the main theater (V.I.P) is a different story.
It isn't what is was before. It just seems quiet, too quiet. I was waiting for one of the employees to take off their mask to reveal shark like jaws and just eat me alive. I guess it is a welcome change bit It didn't feel like a movie experience like it used to be only because of the silence. I suspect it will be better when the seats fill up again after the pandemic is over with.
Excellent selection of movies. Nice clean theaters. No obstructed sight lines.
If the theatre is going to replace all human employees with a row of ticket machines, they should spend some money making sure the machines are in working order. Pathetic and greedy.
Best place to go for movie in saskatoon. Great theatre, great projection! Vip is the best place to be. They have the biggest screen in the town.
Went for first time at VIP theater. Wide, reclining seats were wonderful for going to the movies with my pregnant wife. In-seat service was great and assigned seating saved us having to show up really early.
Clean and organized seating. Concession stand gad plenty of stock and workers were friendly. Downtown location not the best for parking.
Enjoyed our over all experience. We spend alot of time in the downtown area to enjoy the atmosphere and since the renovations we've really liked the flip in tone we experience everytime we come out!
The only difference between the Imax ane AVX is the sound. The sound is fantastic in the Imax! The VIP theatre is also an experience you should try atleast once.
I only go to 1 or 2 movies a year. Comfy seats (better than the Centre Mall). If you want the D-box experience, but want to save a couple bucks, sit in the row right in front of those seats. You can still feel the vibrations.
Servers in the VIP were VERY underwhelming...super rude, walking past me several times without saying anything as I was trying to flag them down to order a sangria that tasted like there was absolutely no alcohol in it at all and paid $12 for.
Parking can be tough at times but it's a good place to see a movie.
Good people. We had to leave a movie early as our son was having issues and they told us to get a refund, which we did. Thank you.
Stood for 10 min waiting for service to buy a pizza no workers around at all at tte outtakes backstage bistro missed 5 min of my movie pizza was ok. Then she forgot my sons fries and gravy and we missed another 5 min of the movie.
Best place to see movies in the city. VIP is neat and much comfier plus you get to drink.
November 8th 2018, we were NOT impressed with our experience. First we were told the manager didn't show up on time so we were waiting for the doors to open at 5:30pm it was almost 15 minutes later. Our plan was to have supper in the restaurant before the 6:45pm movie. Our food and drinks were ordered right away the drinks took 20 minutes to come. Our food didn't come until 6:45pm when our movie was starting. The server said she couldn't order the food because the machine she orders it on wasn't letting her. I would have hoped she would have told the kitchen what to make so we didnt have to wait an hour for our food. She didn't. We had our food sent to our seats. I was not happy with my food either. It was cold the cheese wasn't even melted....that's how NOT warm it was. I think from now on for the price, I will go somewhere else to eat then go to the movie. I feel the food and the service has really dropped the ball.
New IMAX theater for Deadpool 2. Unbelievable experience with the huge screen and high back reclining seats! I wouldn't see chick flicks here but perfect for action and sci-fi films.
The new IMAX screen is amazing... the sound is kicking and the size of the screen and the clarity of the image quality is awesome! The only improvement I could ever imagine is a VIP licensed IMAX lol. But as it is you have got a lot of amazing choices for how a person wants to see their movies. Well done! And opening the IMAX for Infinity War.... genius. It does need to be added as an option on the Cineplex app however.
No possible way they are playing audio under the safe decibel limits. Ears were ringing for about an hour afterwards.
Well after I finally got my pork pulled nachos which took a blistering fast 20 min and was never told which theater the movie was in it was an experience after that.
I just rated this place on Google. It seems like google wants me to do it all over again! Either, Google is not happy with my reading or, there is some business tactic that wants me to reconsider my rating. Alas! I’m not rewriting it with a different star.
It's hard to rate this theatre. The VIP theatres and the upstairs bar are excellent, but the food is disappointing, considering the price. The regular theatres are in good shape and clean, but most of the machines in the arcade are broken and haven't been replaced in years. If you can, get your tickets ahead of time; they're often understaffed, and the lines at the ticket desk are long.
My lowest pick for a theatre in Saskatoon. Location is about the worst you can get. No parking except extremely expensive impark. Horrible location. Pricing is not good. You will get bothered by the street folk outside. Go to Landmark and avoid all of these complaints.
Purchasing a ticket from a real human being isnt even optional anymore. Im forced to pay a machine. No respect for jobs or the local economy apparently. A perfect example of automation at its finest.
I find this place dirty and getting dated the parking is horrible if you want to go to a early show no matter what you have to pay to park as if going to the movies wasn't enough as it is. I would sooner go to centre mall theatre but some of the bigger movies don't come to this theatre so your forced to come here hopefully this place can get a facelift or something over the next few years.
The commercials! After paying a lot of money for a ticket, and a lot more for popcorn and soda, we should be able to see films without being held captive for 30+ minutes of inane advertising. Please, everyone, push back on this. Make your voices heard on social media. Shame these greedy theater companies. Demand a higher-quality cultural experience. As theater goers, we are not products to be sold to corporate advertisers.
Theatre picture and sound is great. Still very expensive for snacks and no drink refills allowed. I would not visit the cineplex often if I didn't get free movies. I heard Landmark is excellent in Saskatoon, going there next time. For free drink refills lol.
I like to watch movies here. They have fancy pops you don't see anywhere else.
Well it seems that Scotia Theatre is NOT taking any precautions over Covid -19 which is pathetic where the Landmark in Saskatoon is taking precautions so maybe the theatre should start following proper procedures and save people's lives. There is nothing on their website so they have no precautions
Saw Star Wars yesterday! Went to IMAX theatre (not 3D). Decent seats, nice theatre. Food options available. Food is ok but a bit expensive
During the last 24 hours Cineplex/Scene took away 1400 points with no explanation. Among the worst loyalty programs with no responsibility taken from Cineplex. Unsanitary theatre with minimal care for patrons. Use Cineplex at your own risk. Good movie but otherwise a miserable experience by Scotiabank Theatre Cineplex.
Great place but very expensive. Popcorn and a drink shouldn't cost you your first born. And why can't the VIP area have combos like the rest of the theater? Date night will no longer be dinner and a movie at this rate.... guess we'll drop the latter????
Good theatre. Well maintained and clean but the auditorium didn't have a seat number when I went.
4 out of 5 because seats don't recline like they do at landmark
Tray tables are rather small and don't swivel. Other than that it was a great experience
Ultra AVX was great! Sat in theatre 7 for watching wrath of man and sound quality was atrocious.
Like all movie theaters all the food is overpriced and not of a great quality. This theatre is kept nice and clean and the bathrooms have always had paper towel and not appeared too dirty. The staff are friendly and helpful and you can watch all the new movies if you've got enough money.
No staff at ticket counters. Troubles with options on automated ticket counters. No refills on large pop or popcorn? At those prices, they should bring you refills! Popcorn is hard and full of corn chaff... Troubles with volume levels or no sound. Have someone to monitor the start of all movies for quality and customer satisfaction!
People can complain about the pricing for the movies all they want but when you compare the quality of Theatre from Rainbow to Scotia I believe it's worth the extra 10$ a ticket. They always play the newest, biggest hits and I've never had a problem with any of the employees. My only thing is the price of food. its far too expensive especially when you just paid for a movie as well.
The prices are outrageous and the seats are worn but 4 stars for those magical pop machines, me looky and me likey!
It is great if you are in VIP Nothing you want to doubt for a film place with full service. Just one thing for here, it is tough to park in downtown
It was amazing! Would do it again for sure!
Food was surprisingly good for what I thought it would have been for theater fare. I enjoyed the chicken quesadilla, and my wife enjoyed the calamari with a salad bowl. Very stylish and comfortable. Security even helped us get sorted out. Thanks Rob! Oh yeah, Downton Abbey was good too.
Great place to see a movie. Our favourite.
Only large-scale movie theatre that is convenient for folks without a car. Plus my various cards earn Scene-It points.
Like this theater. Always clean and tidy. Selection is always good. Food selection is really good, I'm sure you will find something for everyone. Parking is the most annoying thing on busy nights but I seem to always find something.
Be wary of the less than desirable people that lurk outside. VIP theatre is a great place to watch a movie and have a beer. If you show up early you can get a snack or food in a nice lounge. The regular theatres are nice and clean.
The place where we always watch movies with my kids and my friend...easy to get tickets online. parking is the problem sometimes it's hard to find spot. Needs to go around to find spot, that's why we need to go early before the movie sched to look the free space parking near the cinema.
Cineplex has known for its brand name all over Canada. This place fulfills its name. 11 screens at a place and nicely maintained theatre. Good staff. It is completely Fulfilling the hygiene requirements of COVID-19 measures. Love to see the movie here.
It's pretty much THE movie house in town. VIP is great. Only beef is the odd long line for popcorn.
It has movies. I assume that is what you are looking for. Overpriced candy and popcorn are par for the course. If you want more character or less mainstream movies, consider the Broadway or Roxy theatres.
It's a cinema. It's big. Not captivating in any regard, but not repulsive either. Being situated close to downtown is a double-edged sword: parking can be a bit of a gamble, but there are plenty of better-than-food-court dining options in the vicinity.
I'm a huge movie buff! Even though there is competition from Landmark Cinema's the feel of you watching a movie and having a menu to order from in VIP is the best thing ever... On top of that you receive top notch service and the VIP lounge ambience is by far one of the nicest and comfy lounges I've been too... ✌????
I wanted to try the VIP experience so I bought the tickets and when I entered and reached my seat someone was already der so I told him to go on his seat but he told me to sit anywhere, I went to on of the crew member and they checked our …
Great place for the big screen experience. Lots of movies and fantastic popcorn.
i have been there about 200 times in the last 3 years. the staff are always helpful and happy and the auditoriums are always clean. a good place to spend an evening
It's new experience and we'll worth the price for movie go'ers. Sit back and enjoy
Was a bit empty. Could be because of the covid. But was very enjoyable being able to watch movie with my family with no one else in the theater. A bit expensive though. 4 of us, 2 being kids came up to 80$ all together. But was well worth it.
The VIP is expensive but is something different. You can order food from their menu while sitting in your seat and watching a movie. The food on the menu is pricey too.
Nice, clean movie theater. Parking could be a touch better but thats just how downtown parking is.
Full stars if they stop turning the lights on so early. Mainly Marvel movies, you know there's a post credits scene. Frick off with the lights Frick.
I don't know what happened but the service has really gone downhill here lately. went to a movie the other night and they didn't even bother to clean the theatre from the showing before . it was nasty . Also went a few night earlier and the lady wouldn't let me into my show until 10 minutes before the movie started .
Pretty good. Parking sucks and is sketchy at night. They also don't allow refills on your expensive pop?
Great theater. Downtown. Pay 6 bucks for parking unless you can find street parking which is tough to get
The sound in the IMAX theatre is at ear damaging levels. I asked the manager to turn it down, and she said she was unable to do that, as Cineplex controls it. I stuffed some tissue in my ears, as I do not want to become even more deaf! Are these people working for the hearing aid companies??
Nice clean Cinema with vaccine check and comfortable seats
The lounge before the theatre is a recipe for frustration. Be prepared for disappointment. The lounge staff could not be bothered to actually serve anyone. Bartender too concerned with his phone. Bar service staff totally incompetent, and also never took eyes off phones. Had to flag someone down to make an order (after sitting for 10 min), and was told by the waitress to hold on a sec. 15 min later still no return to take order. Wait staff just standing around and talking. Complained to a very dismissive and rude manager, with no actual end result. Pretty standard experience from what I have gathered from others. Been to VIP 8 times total now. Every single time the lounge has been awful. Every single time in the theatre has been great. Great in seat service! Terrible lounge service!
Being here during covid is actually pretty amazing. Me and my sister had the whole theater to ourselves!!!
Nice big theatre with frozen yogurt, tazo tea, and supper food like pizza, poutine, etc. Has arcade area as well. Upstairs is a VIP restaurant and theatre. The seats are larger and leather and some are couches. The screen is bigger and you can order drinks like wine to drink in the theatre.
Prices are super high. It is good if you want to go to VIP or IMAX but just to see a regular movie I would not spend the money. Staff are friendly though which helps. I also don’t overly enjoy the cleanliness...largely in the bathrooms.
The seats are old and need replacing. The bathrooms were disgusting. Sinks plugged up with brown water. Will rarely go to movies late at night because we feel unsafe walking to our car after
Went to see Endgame on opening night Thursday and staff are discussing spoliers on the hall to the theatre door. Never come that close to telling an employee to F*** off. Very unprofessional.
Seats are really uncomfortable. Go to landmark. Cheaper, and better seats.
Great theatre screens but lines are very long. Can get very crowded. VIP is a lot of fun, but pricey. We save it for special occasions.
I don't like theaters. Crowded, cramped, and can't pause the movie when I go to the bathroom. Why did I bother? Oh, yeah - the kids wanted me to come with them.
It's so much better going to a movie when there's no screaming kids and you can have booze delivered to your seat ????
This is a great theatre with lots of space. Very clean and easy to get in and out of.
VIP is amazing, despite the price. Reserved seating is the only way I go to the theatre any more as well. This particular theatre does an adequate job capturing the excitement of going to a new movie with friends, and I've always enjoyed my times there. Especially in the past couple years with VIP opening up. Pitcher of lager whilst I partake in Captain America? I don't mind if I do. Highly recommended.
It was wonderful. Thank you
Good movie but a dirty Theater. It was a full house and my seat had several pieces of chewing gum and spilled food ground into it. Hard to watch a movie when you're worried about gum melting into the seat of your pants.
Great movie theater and so many movie so choose from. Get in early if you want to hit up the concession. Can be a little slow when busy
Great theatre. As with all theatres, the food is far too expensive and not particularly good. Popcorn is decent.
went there to watch a movie & a employee named Josh, was very very rude & was not doing his job & was busy talking away. other than that, the movie & food was great. but could use work on the manners of some employees.
The theatre needs to consider price more heavily. As food and a movie for a couple will run you over $60. On the other hand, they provide a top notch experience as far as the movie experience goes. The new IMAX is not as impressive as one would hope. But it is a noticeable upgrade from the other screens.
I love going to the movies, but kind of strapped 4 cash rite now. Otherwise the threatre is a good place to see a movie. I'll be going soon.
Awesome theater VIP experience, however they do not tell you you have to be there an hour early to partake in the food service.
Took in a movie on the vip side good service with our snacks delivered to our seats
Very comfortable seating but the price of a ticket is a little high
I like how comfortable the seats are here. The VIP theaters are really nice when you don't want to deal with dumb kids talking during the movies, but you might get sat next to a neckbeard who chews his popcorn really loud when you're just trying to watch the Avengers crush Thanos. You might even laugh when the neckbeard knocks over his popcorn halfway through the movie. 10/10, will not sit through the sound of a neckbeard chewing ever again.
Come experience all saskatoon can offer. Pay for parking and still get a parking ticket. Listen to staff gossip for free while you wait in line. The seats are changed regularly so the risk of bed bugs is limited. Afterwards you can watch the great citizens of this city barely able to walk jump into the drivers seat for some real action! VIP for real!
VIP Theater is always a true pleasure. Well worth the extra dollars for in-seat food service and a child-free movie going experience.
It's way more complicated now going to a movie. Do you want this kind of seat that kind of seat vip up down pay more you get this. I liked coming in, paying, getting my popcorn and going to one of the movies. No better seats or booze or steak. *big sigh*
Place was not well staffed, waited a while for popcorn and a drink, even though not many customers present. Appeared clean and the movie was good.
Pay for parking, seats are kind of crammed but other than that its clean and has good sound and picture quality!
Highly recommend trying the dinner and a movie experience at the VIP theatre. Super comfirtable reclining seats, big screen and sound with friendly and fast pre show in seat service
One of Saskatoon's largest if not the largest movie theaters . The Scotia has a large variety of movies from GP to 18+ ratings . Plenty to see with large snack bars
Have always enjoyed the movies at the Galaxy but was very disappointed that the movie "Mully" was sold out this past October and sincerely hope it will be shown here again. Cineplex is now adding more dates for this movie in select theatres in BC on Nov. 22 and Nov.25. Having worked in Kenya, I would really like to see this movie as do many others who missed it because of the small area in which it was shown.
Had a private VIP room for our group of 14 during Covid. Well looked after by our hostess.
Theater was very nice the goody stand very high-priced and the parking was $12 just to go in and see one movie so that part I will never go back to the Saskatoon just because of that for two people to go out to see a movie by time we were done cost is about $50 not worth it
Staff just standing around. There was a mess everywhere. Drink counter was covered in syrup. No refills on a $6 pop. Waste of money. Any other theatre not owned by cineplex is the way to go. Pathetic
all the reviews ive seen on the galaxy are bad, so what they might have bad parking, impatient and poor customer service there. they are doing their best to serve you they have 10,000+ people a night to serve and ive worked in the food industry and its people like you who write bad reviews on places that complain and put down the work of the employees that effects a work place. and for the parking downtown your going to get that anywhere you go even at the center cause you'll be writing another bad review because of the night club, the line up, the parking, the bus terminal bringing little gangster wanna bes so suck it up and take what you get cause you cant expect everything to be perfect in a theater full of all different types of people from different social classes
The employees are fantastic; very professional, friendly, helpful, and just awesome!
Hate that I have to pay for parking, feel very unsafe at all times of the day going there as there are street people living at the Lighthouse right across the street and harrassing everyone for money or smokes or lighters. I avoid this place at all times. It is expensive and needs security desperately. However it's a very nice theatre inside with good staff.
Movie may be good, but why am I spending $16 for a movie and just as much for snacks to listen to 23 minutes of advertising making my movie start 23 minutes late. They should pay me for wasting my time.
waiting for our movie to start and finally go in before it was cleaned because our movie started in less then 10 minutes... when the guy comes in to clean ( after I complain ) he doesn't even touch any of the garbage that was left in our row... not really impressed :/ galaxy is constantly raising Thier prices and we have to sit in dirty theatres now?
What a great experience... the lounge before the movie was amazing. The food was good, the drinks were great and then the movie theatre was not crowded, the service was good. If anything could make it better....they need reclining seats. It might have been because of where we were sitting but we did not have them and it would have made the experience even better!
Not comfortable with having to sell myself my own tickets yet. Lack of personal contact. But a really nice theater with comfortable seating.
This theater is ok. The popcorn isnt great, it lacks salt and doesn't taste great unless you pay the $2 for double butter. The theaters are never really clean, but the staff is always friendly.
Went to see house of Gucci. You need vac card and ID to get in. No exceptions.
The only modern theatre in town, until the new one in Brighton opens. Have enjoyed many shows here. Parking is terrible unless you go to a late show or a Sunday matinee. The arcade is pathetic, most of the games are broken and completely neglected, only two were sort of working (plus the token dispenser of course). VIP is a fun experience for those of legal age but the seats in it aren't as comfortable as they look like they should be. This is the best place to watch a new movie but it's showing its age. Also a little disappointed in their scene loyalty program which seems to cost more and more points to claim movie rewards.
The best movie theatre in Saskatoon. It gets new movies first, has the best seats, largest theatres, greatest variety of foods and an arcade (with a DDR machine, one of the only ones in the city). However, the price reflects this luxury and a movie ticket for a non-3D movie will run you $12, and it gets higher for 3D, AVX and the VIP lounge.
Can't find much to complain about here. Great theater and I'm partial to the VIP section. Its the way to go. Theater food and drink prices but still. There is a pub attached as well which is great too. There is paid parking on the streets and at a couple of pay parking lots close to the building. Lots of parking across the street at the Toys R Us, some late nights you will be able to drive out for free.
Usually very clean, fast lines for the most part, good implementation of technology (ticket printing & TimePlay). Popcorn can be absolute garbage at times, imagine getting a whole bag of the little niblets you'd normally find at the bottom of the bag. No fun. Other times you'll get your good ol' bag of overpriced popcorn and enjoy it like a good peasant. They got the good self dispensing pick-your-own wild flavour of pop machine, but you're not a weirdo so you'll get a nice cup of coca cola anyway. Overpriced everything as you'd expect. Haven't been to the beer drinkin' theatre yet so can't comment on it.
Great theater cumfy place. Staff is very nice and helpful. Theaters are well taken care of and clean.
VIP theater ... Chairs don't actually recline without constantly pushing the chair back, lights remain on for extra end scenes so you can barely see the screen, food is pretty good, service is exceptional.
They do good deals on tuesdays for tickets to watch good movies.
No complaints. New and clean, well organized. Several different theater rooms showing concurrently. Popcorn ok. We were checked for vaccination passports on the way in.
I tried to call the theater 10 times last night to talk to someone about a coupon I have and nobody answers. They replaced there employees with computers and make it impossible to speak with an actual person. I even left a message and they couldn't even get back to me until the next day. USLESS!!!!!! THANK GOD WE GOT A NEW MOVIE THEATER. maybe now cineplex will actually hire people back and give CUSTOMERS SERVICE instead of cutting "costs" well changing $25 for 50 cents of pop and chips. The stupid thing is that cineplex doesn't care. They are just interested in cutting costs so there investors can buy new yacht every year and not care about the sheep paying for it. It's all about the bottom line!!!!!!!! What a joke!!!
VIP seats were super comfy with lots of space.
Fast service for ordering our menu items. Food was DELICIOUS. Bacon poutine...amazing! Only thing is the high cost of food. Medium popcorn is 6.00 plus 1.00 for butter. I think the poutine was $10 at least and a small portion. VIP tickets for a movie plus popcorn for 2 and drinks and a poutine costs you around $75 for the night out. No specials for popcorn like in the other part of the theater where you can get 2 drinks 1 large popcorn and candy for example. Chairs don't stay reclined back either like at Landmark. Best part of VIP is the 19+ and the food.
The recliners barely recline! It is actually less comfortable then it used to be!! The minimal way it relies makes it very awkward. Go to landmark theatres where the reclines actually recline properly!
VIP is the best part with the lounge, food, drinks and great movie viewing experience. Traditional theatre is good as well
Why on earth is the whole call a machine. It says online lost and found call the store but I CANT what If I lost my car keys or phone or something important. You need one of your many many workers to pick up the phone to answer my simple question. The movie was great and good was too but I am SO FRUSTRATED with your phone I don’t even want to go here ever again
Nice theatre but the location is a deal breaker. Feel like im lucky because i didnt get stabbed on way in or out. Theaters great on the inside for sure.
Seats are getting old and have no cushion left in them. The seating area above the concession is eternally closed, I used to love hanging out there while waiting for people. Concession is criminally priced. Nice that you can still see a socially distant movie, theaters should have have 1/3 of the seats they normally do (pre-pandemic) all the time.
Ron's Gone Wrong. ????????????????
Excellent. Redeemed scene points for Rocketman tickets with the help of a fantastic customer service rep.
Place is clean but very unorganised. But alot intoxicated people hangout in front and some even are inside. Central mall location is much much better
VIP is the only way to go. I dont want a snotty nosed kid sitting next to me when i go see a bugs life alone Update two mo ths later. Wheb you order food yoh expect it to be fresh.. . Its not always.
Theater is grate. Chairs are nice (VIP). Food for VIP selection is not the best but it is only a theater. All in all, good place for a date
Their Outtakes is very slow. I'm talking 5-10 minutes for a poutine while the lobby's practically empty. You get fresh food, but there's no communication on what's taking so long. Some kind of acknowledgement would be hella sweet :) Other than that and the old non-recliner seats, it's a good place to catch a flick.
Always a good experience here. Would love if they ran regular shows in the VIP screens right now though.
Great covid protocols in place. Only 3 other families in the theater, everyone was well distanced. Cleaning was thorough between shows.
Well me and my husband go here whenever we go see a movie and I would rate it higher but the food was cold the fried pickles are everytime and it is soooo exspensive but the service was great as always
Great place for a movie
It's a good theatre but the seats at landmark are 1000x better
The movie itself was amazing! But what's with all the commercials before the movie?? They seemed to go on forever!
41 minutes in line to buy popcorn. No cashiers and cut backs on staff for self serve drinks - massive miscalculation. How can your bean counters determine lost revenue on treats. We saw 18 people give up on the long slow moving lines. 8 drink stations 2 out of order and 2 out of most chouces. We will avoid rgis massive mismanaged mess in the future.
Nice cool place to see a movie. I would prefer the VIP anytime. But parking is a hustle sometimes
VIP is amazing... just know they have food and adult drinks upstairs so skip the popcorn and stuff ..
Vip experience. So far it is very good. Nice comfy seats, great menu choices and drinks.
I love movies and I watch alot of them. Every time i go to the theatre there i have butterflies in my stomach. Its magical. Thats for such a wonderful place.
Love the vip theatre, food is served right to your seat! It’s a great time!
Amazing sound effect along with comfortable seating, made watching movie's over there even more fun.
The VIP is nice. Over priced and I don't go here often but it's s a great way to see a movie
Had a great meal prior to the movie. Staff were friendly and efficient. Theater seats were clean and comfortable.
Its a good place, but the parking lot thats attached to the building has a pay station that doesn't work and another that only takes coins.
Please lower the movie volume as I now have an earache. Otherwise, enjoyed the theater experience. Thank you.
VIP is good. Screens large sound excellent. Freestyle pop fountain is awesome. Plus the scene points. Convenient in the middle of town not in the boonies of some new suburb.
After going to a new top notch theater this one now is nothing. The seats are cheap, aisles are narrow and cramped and people are crammed in there like sardines. Landmark is the best by 1000%. Plus this theater cranks the volume on their movies so loud when i see a movie here i wear earplugs so the movie is at just the right volume. The only reason i see movies here is my wife collects scene points so i can go here for free. If i have to pay to see a movie i go to the landmark theater now.
Great experience although trying to pick movie tickets online was perplexing. Too many combinations of avx/d box/imax/3D/VIP and the prices aren't seen until you make your choice. More expensive by far and then you will likely have to pay for parking. Seats are very comfortable and I enjoyed the movie.
Wow horrible people these days just absolutely horrible took my mom which she has cancer to see a movie before her surgery she can't walk well and uses a cane or a walker went to find seat in theater non on main floor she can't do stairs even the worker was like oh well and even the people sitting in a marked wheel chair area refused to move!!!! Absolutely ridiculous. Management did nothing said oh well barely gave us our money back. I want more I want some apologies custody towards my mom and i. I don't even want to give one star.. so here we r sitting on the floor in the main area eating our popcorn no movie. Who wants theater popcorn with out a movie.. no consideration what so ever I'm taking the viral and further!!! Please spread the word on how injustice inhumane this was to a person with not just a disability but even with cancer!!! U know they could be even offered us a different movie or something vip movie...!!
I love movies!! This theater is always clean and the staff is friendly. I just don't like how you have to buy your tickets threw the machines now. There is ZERO human contact until you buy food.
Not only was the theatre filthy, I watched a mouse run under the garbage at the entrance to auditorium 10 today. Now that they have Coke Freestyle there are no free refills. They actually have an employee standing there to prevent you from filling your cup a second time. This includes 'refillable' large plastic cups. Save your money and wait for the film to go to Rainbow!!
VIP theatre is great! A bit pricey but it is often worth it with dinner and alcohol service in the comfortable theatre.
Recline and watch a new movie in the VIP. I would always go to movies this way if I could! There is tons of leg room, you can order special drinks or treats (like the brownie and ice cream I had), and you don't have to worry about dropping your popcorn all over the place because someone brings it right to your seat! You have enough room for your belongings and a table to put your snacks on. So worth it!
We had a great time at a recent movie. Clean theater, easy line up for snacks, and we purchased our tickets ahead so we wouldn't be waiting in line.
Its clean, its comfy, it definitely changes the whole movie going experience. The poutine is so good and having popcorn delivered to your seat is 10/10.
Enjoyed the movie but terrible service. Got to our seats and one was broken. Had to return to the box office to change to different seats, took twenty minutes. Called me a liar about how I paid. Had a gift card that I used. Lady at the box office said I must have paid a different way. She wanted to make me pay with a debit card or credit card and would put the refund on a different gift card. Finally got a manager to sort it out. Stupid system they have. Can’t wait to never go back.
Staff - generally concerned with talking to their coworkers. Talking to you (the customer) seems inconvenient and annoying. The only good service received was from the gentleman who takes and rips your ticket. Concession - As usual for movie places, ridiculously overpriced. Tastes fine, but nothing to raise eyebrows over. Lobby Area - Spacious. Looks really nice. No bathrooms in this area which is kind of annoying for those who want to pee and buy popcorn before the movie. Bathrooms (female) - Lots of stalls, but is very messy with lots of dirty toilets and toilet paper on floors everywhere. Theatre Room - Comfy seats, standard layout. The movie experience is pretty good although if there are disruptive customers, nothing is done about it. Parking lot - MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! I know lots of you are thinking that there is no big deal about the parking lot, but this parking lot is not paved, bumpy, not under supervision, and you have to pay. This parking lot has been this way for years with no visible intention of Galaxy ever planning to pave it. I wouldn't mind paying if it was a nice parking lot where there was at least one security guard hanging out, but this parking lot quality is what I would expect if I was going to some event out of the city, not in the middle of downtown. On top of that, there were only two places that you could pay for parking, both with a line of about 15 people each (20-30 minute wait time). If you are going to a movie, you should show up at least 30 minutes in advance just to stand in line to pay for a terrible parking lot, even before you buy your movie ticket or concession. Perhaps the lines aren't this bad all of the time, but for evenings and weekends, it is extremely inconvenient. My advice to you: Spend your money elsewhere. I'd rather take the extra time that I would spend waiting and money for parking to drive across town to ANY other theatre in town. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update November 2012: As a response to Mr. Mercredi, apparently you do not know what a "review" is. The reason why Galaxy Cinemas has bad reviews is because it has not been an enjoyable experience by myself or the other reviewers. You provide misleading information by saying that everything there is "excellent" but have not said anything to back up your claims. 1. First of all, you agreed with my review by saying "so what they might have bad parking, impatient and poor customer service." 2. I have worked in the food industry as well. Being busy is no excuse for being inconsiderate. 3. In terms of parking, it is way better anywhere else, including other places downtown. At least if I was parking somewhere else downtown, I wouldn't have to wait in line forever and I would get a paved spot where people are walking by frequently enough that I wouldn't be too concerned about break-ins. This isn't the case at Galaxy. 4. This has nothing to do with social class. I don't even know why you'd bring it up. In general, my opinion still stands. The Galaxy Cinemas "looks nice" but aside from that, everything else provided is not worth the time and cash spent going here.
Over priced everything. But hey, what do you expect. Still a good place for movies, the VIP is nice, just wish the chairs actually reclined..
Still spacing and masks, but good service!
I am an employee and i am disappointed that in a different province than where i work they would not honour my cast pass. I was specifically told by my GM that they do not give us an expiry date so we can go whenever we want. This ciniplex in saskatoon would not accept my cast past. Thanks.
The movie and theatre was Incredible but the entrance to the building is not equipped well enough for the winter weather. When I arrived there with my father he slipped and hurt his back and all the staff did was stand there and not even …
Theaters are top notch. But the place always seems understaffed and dirty. And they closed box office which is extremely annoying. You either have to get your ticket from the robots or from concession.
Nice theater if you opt for the vip is even better, prices are OK.
We did the VIP theatre and the wait staff ignored us completely - she kicked me twice getting the order of the people next to us - not impressed. It was also uncomfortably cold inside.
The theatre is very nice, the only drawback is the parking which will cost you extra, it can be very confusing and doesn't always work in the winter time.
Theatre is clean, great presentation. Bathrooms tend to be quite dirty or stalls lacking toilet paper. They should be checked more frequently.
Went to Aladdin , once we walked into auditorium 4 i immediately smelt urine. So gross.
Spent 65$ to buy my own ticket (no one works at the front anymore, all machines), pour my own drink, butter my own popcorn and sit in a broken seat. Will definitely be going to the landmark from now on.
The only complaint is the seats are not as comfortable for two hours of sitting, and being that it’s a theater so the snacks are expensive. Good way to kill a few hours.
First time we have been to a theater in a few years. Self serve ticket machines have replaced people and so many commercials before the trailers before you finally get to see the movie. Seats were fairly comfortable but the screen was not very big and the image was even smaller. All things considered I don't know if we will go back very often.
Very expensive, popcorn was cold n very greasy, movie way to loud, expected better chairs n service
Always a pleasant experience. Great covid protocols
Really good audio quality in the ultra avx and the IMAX. Can be pretty messy at times. Staff are hit and miss for professionalism. To be expected in a theater.
The VIP experience here was fantastic, I loved the food choices and the comfortable seats. One of my favourite movie-going experiences ever!
A "D Box"movie ticket was $23.99 and a popcorn, drink and chocolate was around $22 so almost $50 to see a movie. They're out of their minds. Way too expensive for what you get ????????
For two of us, $10 in parking, 31$ for tickets and $27 for two drinks, popcorn, and a candy. AVX theatre was super loud during quiet scenes, and screen appeared blurry for the whole show.
Couldn't bother turning on handicap doors
Was awesome! Book your seats , no line uos. They take orders for food, popcorn and alcohol if you chose right from your seats! Very good food! Very comfy seats! Arm rest goes up so you can cuddle!
It's fun having a licensed movie theatre (VIP). I've always found the food disappointing but if you stick to popcorn and drinks you'll be all right.
Best in town! Concessions always move slowly though, and there is a distinct lack Of personnel available to help with information or to help with problems. Other than that, best screen and sound in town.
Great theater! Clean, friendly, follows protocols. Not a cheap outing if you get snacks.
V.I.P is great! I enjoy having some snacks and perhaps a beer with my movie. Comfortable seating. Servers have been polite and ready to help. Bathrooms are clean in the V.I.P area as well. It's been a while since I went to a regular show here, but when I did the theaters were clean and the popcorn tasty. Prices for food are a bit high, but I think that's any theater.
The screen and food is ok, but the last few times I've been here there has been injection drug users in the bathroom. Pretty gross
The upstairs vip area is a nice touch in this theater. You can buy popcorn, candy, and drinks upstairs to avoid the long lines below. They did get rid of all their front tills however and it is now all computer kiosks to purchase tickets which I dont overly like as there isnt always someone watching over them if you have a question.
Great place for a night out with friends or significant other. Ordering food in the theater is a nice change and food is both reasonably priced and tasty. Drinks can be slightly expensive but worth it for the experience.
one of the managers was completely rude. I was waiting in line and she comes up to me and says “why are u just standing there” and I said I’m in line and she goes “mmm well” and then walked away. Would not recommend going here the workers are snotty and rude. I went to give my ticket and the girl checking tickets rolled her eyes at us and then people in front of us after they went they went through
Nice experience watching a movie here.. And depending on your luck there is plenty of free parking. Seats were comfortable and popcorn was fresh and snacks readily available for you. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly.
Couldn't find anyone to talk to after the movie.. didn't get my $9 popcorn thru in seat service .. might as well just go to Landmark where the price and service is right
Nice theatre. The 3 star rating is due to all the hobos and bums who camp outside. I realize maybe the theatre's options for dealing with them are limited, but it still makes the place unappealing
Tried to play in the arcade, majority of games were broken. Washroom was dirty and had no toilet paper. Felt like a neglected establishment.
I always have great service but today I . Walked in to the theatre 20 minutes before show time and was told I need 30 minutes before showtime to get in seat service. ( We are the only people in the theatre). So I would have to order from the bar. I then walked into the theater after ordering from the bar and they are now doing in seat service.
There was a time when this was the best theatre in Saskatoon. It's pretty average now. Needs a facelift and a cleaning. The staff has been fantastic, and the movie line up is still decent
Well I like it because of what they play like you know Andre Rieu I spent my hundred dollars going to see him it was a $20 show that it was worth $1000000 to see how few people were there and how I could get up and dance and singing enjoy myself and I'm going to go to all the next offers there to wonderful dress up if you go please treat it like a delight ha ha ha ha
Love the VIP theater. Serving staff are friendly, quick and on the ball!
Good theatre, decent selection of movies usually, concession is just as pricey as anywhere else, sucks that they got rid of the human ticket sellers and replaced them with those machines that work most of the time.
We just recently saw a movie there and it was good. They have the regular screens and imax screens. We got lucky and had the whole theater to ourselves. We wanted to pay in cash at the concession and they had to ring it through as a gift card then do it that way with my change. I said no as if you are good to accept my money then you can give me money back. I don't want a gift card. That makes no sense even with covid. The theater was clean and staff was friendly.
First time using the VIP theatre. Pretty much empty. Great movie experience. Highly recommends to go watch the movie you want AFTER the first few weeks opening.
Always a wicked time here, service is good
The theater it self is great but parking is abysmal. If are not lucky enough to get street parking then you will be paying around $10 for parking which is complete BS. I am sure this is not the theaters fault but needs to be considered when going here. As for the screens AvX and dbox are awesome! The VIP seats are nice if you want drinks or no kids also very comfortable seats. The IMAX screen is small compared to the Regina one or at least feels that way.
Definitely missing the VIPs, can't wait till it opens up again.
Great theater, the people that work there are very friendly
This theater as always is a great place to go to watch movies. :)
Best theatre in the city... But... The movie pre-show is terrible: full of embedded advertising / trivia. What happened to upcoming movie previews? There was only one and about 10 annoying minutes of trivia about Sasktel.
Went out on a Wednesday for the Dinner and a Movie Date Night. 2 movie tickets, a shareable appetizer, 2 entrées, and a shareable dessert (from an abbreviated menu) in the comfy VIP theatre for a great price. Service was good, the food was plentiful, alcoholic beverages were great. Only complaint was that the tablet being used by our server kept losing connection and the poor guy would have to start our order over.
Bathrooms were dirty even though a worker was just signing the paper they have on the wall saying they've checked them as I entered. Also movies tend to be too loud at this theatre.
Love the matinée prices! Don't like that there are no actual people selling tickets, although you can buy movie tickets at the concession, it slows things down..
Theatre itself is awesome. I always go for the VIP upgrade if I can. Food itself is meh, just kind of like overpriced bar food, but what do you expect at a theatre. Huge fan of the VIP seats. Went to a movie tonight a few rows below the 'D-box' seats and I could feel the rumble and movement from those, which was really cool. Excited to try the d-box seats as well. My biggest issue is the parking. It's a joke that I have to pay $12+ for a movie, then another $9 to park in the lot. Unless you get lucky with a street spot, or want to walk super far. Parking should be free or reimbursed for movie goers
The experience was great! Food served right to the seat and the food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to see some cool things on the menu, like ginger beer.
Parking is crazy, and they give out tickets even if you are 10 min over. Theater was good
Went and watched John Wick 3. Wanted to see the movie other wise I would have left the theater. The place was disgusting, cups and bags left in the cupholders, garbage all over the floor. Not a place I will visit again!!!
Last night at the theater the General Manager, Tamara P. went above and beyond in customer service. Incredible act of kindness, character and generosity. Will return to this theater just because of her.
Over priced tickets paired with over priced food. The theatres have become slightly run down. Pair that with feeling unsafe when leaving at night and the other theatre options in the city become more intriguing
Absolutley love the VIP theatre cant get enough of these great theatre and inseat service is the greatest and some of the coldest beer nearby!
Nice theatre and all with good quality picture and sound. To bad the parking around there is rediculous. Every time I go to a movie here I have to leave like an hour before to drive halfway across the city and leave time to find a parking spot, wait in long lines for food or tickets, etc. And to top it off I get a parking ticket like half the time. Plus I live next to two other theatres which are way more convenient. Would be 4 stars if they had a better location.
This is the theatre you want to go to in town if you want it to be an experience. The prices are not cheap, but you get decent staff, comfortable seats and a great screens.
Thank you for letting me pay almost $7 for the worst iced tea EVER!!!! I didn't think a simple drink could ruin a movie experience, but it can.
Went for a matinee show in the Imax theatre had the place to myself fairly decent theater newer downtown. lots of restaurants in the area
Terrible customer service. It is frustrating as we have enjoyed the movie aspect of the VIP lounge. But we continuously have horrible service before and after the movie. Once we get to a table we wait approx 15 minutes before we are acknowledged at a table then end up having to go up to the bar to order our drinks ourself. When you pay extra for the service it is frustrating when you have yet to receive what you pay for. If the servers were extremely busy it would not be as bothersome but when you see them chatting with each other rather than serving customers it becomes frustrating.
No leg support on the seats and the food is cafeteria food. Honestly I think McDonald's has better quality food than they have now. Used to be much better in the lounge
The show ‘ I Can Only Imagine ‘ was sold out on opening night so they opened another theatre to accommodate everyone. It is an awesome show and kudos to Scotiabank Theatre for helping others to hear the Word! Thank you, as well, for having it play on more than one night!
Really nice theaters.
Been to the VIP twice and never had a complaint. Seats are comfortable. Food is good and delivered quick. And their selection of drinks is pretty good. Nothing like watching Deadpool with a few beers.
Great date night with my wife. Friendly people at all areas of the facility to help direct, or help when the auto-ticketing machines don't work the way they are supposed to. Super clean facility from top to bottom!
Do not go to this theatre with a bag if you value your privacy. They will not let you in without checking all through it. Very unpleasant experience. Not interested in having my privacy invaded just to see a movie that I have the option to eventually just see at home, and I can wait. Never been treated this rudely in a cinema. If the theatre is so concerned about people taking in cameras and such, a periodic check by an employee would certainly fix that. I'll take my business elsewhere.
Always good movie memories made here..the steward could be a bit more helpful though...my kids absolutely love the arcade part????????????
Possibly the WORST service I have ever received. Waited over half hour for 1 drink in the VIP lounge. The lounge was occupied with less then 10 people and our drink arrived with hair in it! Great service!!
The VIP theater has delicious found, comfortable seats, and a great selection of movies to watch. Great for a date night out.
Great movie but chairs are not that comfortable and to complicated to get the scene card and app. No one to help.
I like that you can book your seats before going to the theatre, good service, comfy seats, bar and food service is a plus.
Everything is great except when you purchase your ticket there are only machines and one person trying to help everyone. Not that efficient. Two people with tills/computers are far better in my opinion!
Great theater particularly the VIP section....worthy of every spent cent!
It's a great theatre with lots of screens and good snacks and food. The popcorn, drinks and food are pretty expensive but it is a theatre so that's not a surprise. The picture and sound quality has been very good in the all the theatres I've been in. I won't go to the Ultra AVX anymore though because they put those ridiculous D-box seats right in front of where I like to sit. They do nothing but distract and detract from the movie. The VIP screens are a totally different story though. They have large very comfortable seats and you can order your popcorn and drinks, as well actual restaurant food and even alcoholic drinks, right to your seat. Of course it's all pretty expensive but it's well worth it. The VIP has spoiled me for any of the other screens. All-in-all it's a great movie-going experience.
Wish I had remembered to read the guys name tag, he was really helpful with my needs, in regards for taking five of us to see Ready Player one, made my movie experience really great. Who everthe manager is , good job on good hires ????????????????
Seemed pretty quiet for a Saturday evening w Spiderman opening. Could be because of Covid or because they had many shows available to watch. Regardless, my family enjoyed it. …
The VIP area is a different experience, I enjoyed the seating and the atmosphere, staff was accommodating and helpful. Great time and will return again.
Always a great time with great food and awesome seats!
The idiot that thought it was a good idea to put such an expensive theatre in the worst part of one of the most dangerous cities in Canada, should seriously lose their job. No free parking and dealing with downtown rif raf is not a fun night out. Definitely won’t go back.
Showed up just on time for our movie tonight due to not finding parking and missed seat service. Lucky for us there was a great manager that helped make our experience awesome and had food sent to our seats! Turned our night around! Thank you!
Food is great. Service is good. Have had bad service in the past but it has improved drastically over the last several months.
We went to the VIP theatre for the first time. Tried to buy tickets online but it wouldn't let us use more than 1 gift card for the purchase. Buying tickets at the theatre was confusing. The VIP ticket desk on the main floor didn't have an attendant and there were no staff around to ask where we could buy tickets. Finally found out from a fellow customer that we could buy tickets from the concession upstairs in the VIP lounge. The staff at the concession ignored us, we could see they saw us but no one voluntarily came to the counter to help us. Otherwise the theatre was nice, the chairs were comfortable and the food was good. Food and drinks were delivered directly to our seats. In-seat service ended when the movie started, which is fine. We found the staff hit-and-miss, it was difficult to get their attention for ordering food. Once we'd ordered, the food came quickly and servers were friendly. While it wasn't a bad experience, we wouldn't say that the additional cost for the VIP is worth the benefits.
Customer Service is Nonexistent No people working at ticket booth, just machines. Only 2 people working at the concession. No wonder people are not going to theatres anymore. I sure will not be coming back.
The people there are nice and the theaters are top notch. The chairs are more comfy than other theaters and the food is good
Number one for me best place to watch a move
