The low price is by far the largest appeal of this place. It not being a big chain created more of a cosy vibe that sets it apart from the big theatres. They paid for clients parking, which is a nice touch. The screen was noticeably smaller than its competition, but the sound remained full. It's located in a faraway corner of a nearly empty mall, which can make locating a bit of a hassle. The deco is overall a little bit run dark and run down. Not as pleasant as the big-box theatres, but the price more than makes up for it.

Tuesday is still CHEAP DATE NIGHT. They have the Big Comfy CHAIRS. They recline at the touch of a button. Never too crowded. (The movie I saw was terrible...but sitting in a comfy spot enjoying my popcorn and drink made it ALL BETTER) !!!

Formerly the rainbow cinema but now it's imagine theatre. They have installed recliner seating with lots of legroom. Parking in the parking garage is validated to be free parking. An amazing movie experience at a lower cost then other theaters.

I went Tuesday afternoon, there was a mess on the seats in front of me, and there was a big dirty mark in the middle of the screen in theater 1. The rest of the screen was very dirty, You can see where its been wiped. Ill be going to Landmark next time since its $1 more on a Tuesday.

The theatres at Imagine cinemas are comfortable and the staff are nice. The only addition I would recommend would be to have a QR code reader at the top of the stairs to let people in so as to avoid wasting paper and time of customers. There are we code readers at the bottom of the stairs but they print tickets which you present to the employees at the top of the stairs, it seems like a redundant process.

I have been using this theatre since I was young and when it was still called Rainbow Cinemas. It's still the same good old theatres, with the downside of no arcade games anymore. They have reclining seats to make up for it though.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the seating in this theatre. Comfortable and huge reclining chairs with lots of room. Even in the reclined position you don’t have to move to let people pass. Theatre itself is small and intimate. You can book your individual seats ahead online so there is no waiting. Concession prices are standard.

This theatre is lovely. They have huge, recliner seats in all their theatres. The screens aren't as big, but you don't tend to sit as far back, and with the recliners, it's very comfortable. Plus it's cheaper! The staff are great and the popcorn is good!

Imagine Cinemas. Upgraded from being Rainbow cinemas. They have clearly re-invented the brand and it is Good. The recliner seats are the best addition to the cinema. Even better is the cleanliness, the size of the screening room and the way the seats are positioned. No matter where you sit, you will get a great view of the screen and won't miss anything. For movies that screen a little later in the evening, there is enough staff to provide support to you. They have self serve kiosks in the main, ticketing area that are quick and easy to use and if in case they run out of paper, there is a phone at the front desk which can be used to call a staff member for help and they promptly arrive. The icing on the cake is that they do validate parking for 6 hours so you can see two movies without having to move your car. Choice of parking underground or in the parking lot structure that takes you right up to the cinema entrance. This is my favourite go-to cinema

Great and newly renovated facility with reclining leather seats. Use to be the old Rainbow Cinemas. Plenty of space between seats. Great concession options and still slightly cheaper than most other theaters. Clean and well maintained. Friendly veteran staff still working there from the days of Rainbow Cinema. Cost is reasonable and ideal for families. Free underground parking available through Citi Plaza with movie ticket purchase and parking validation inside movie theater. Also paired with The Fox & Fiddle Restaurant and Pub in Citi Plaza (ground level) for a movie and meal deal - If you spend $18.99 + cost of a beverage (per person) before taxes you get a free movie ticket pass to use at your discretion at Imagine Cinemas (2nd level) a great deal for couples. Tuesday movie specials are great here: $7.00 movies and $8.00 for a medium pop and popcorn (real butter not available) which can be upsized for a couple of quarters. Well worth investigating and adding to your cinema options.

Update 30-Aug-19 Imagine replied that cannot refund parking...to say the least really disappointed as no one at the theatre told us about validating for parking and nothing on Imagine's website either. No one told us that we can our parking validated! I'm still waiting for a reply from Imagine to tell me how to get refunded...$12 is a little much to see a movie. Came here for our first time as a family and did not know what to expect. Very quiet on a Wednesday mid-day and it was nice to have the theater to ourselves! Popcorn was stale however with the Groupon this was worth the trip. Seats were a very pleasant surprise. I think we would consider coming back however for a better movie. Service from ticket takers to concession was fantastic!

A value cinema. The seats are extremely wide and updated. Plenty of room to get down the rows when others are reclined. The concessions are just candy and popcorn for the most part, same setup since 1980 I'd guess. Free indoor parking validation. Booked online. Not very crowded. No bells and whistles just a comfortable clean movie theatre.

I love rainbow cinemas! Its much more affordable and enjoyable place to go compared to the other theaters like silvercity and the likes. I always choose this as my go to theater and would recommend it to anyone who likes fun and movies. The only thing they don't have is 3D, but if you don't like 3D, or don't care, that isn't a problem. I go here with my family, friends, boyfriend and even just by myself sometimes. Go here, its worth it!

The fairly recent renovations to this theatre have not only brought it up to modern technical standards but have also improved it's appearance and appeal. The new reclining seats are comfortable and cleaned after every show. I do wish the seat control and number lights weren't so bright, as at low light times during the show they can be distracting.

I really enjoy going to our Rainbow Cinema here in London. I have always found the staff very friendly and courteous and helpful. The place is always clean and ready for the start of a film which is something that I look for in a film theatre setting. Yes, the film costs are great and the special Tuesday discount is a perk plus the free parking for six hours during the afternoon. I really appreciate the parking situation. I also like the way management figures out which films should be shown in which theatre. They are usually right too. I like the cozy atmosphere of Rainbow and will continue to support this downtown location in the future. Thanks!

I have mixed feelings. It was really great to see Imagine Cinemas refit the budget friendly Rainbow Cinemas with comfy recliners and choose your own seating... But...they've removed box office staff, choosing instead to welcome visitors with an ominous self serve electronic message kiosk. Felt like a post apocalyptic wasteland. Further, they've decided if you're too cheap to pay a buck for butter, the staff will point you a do it yourself machine where you can pour your own damned margarine... The staff is always friendly, theatres clean, and ticket prices reasonable. Yet, it's clear that Imagine is not subtle when it comes to what you should, and should not expect...

Then I realized that they don't open every day, so email them to get a refund and never heard back. Don't use their website! This was the worst experience! We had trouble finding the cinema so for people who dont live in London, just moved to London or have never heard of the cinema they would never know it was there! The employees weren't very helpful the man even told me to Look at my ticket and find out what theatre it was in myself! He finally told us but they had a picture up for a different movie then the one I paid for. Atleast when the movie started it was the right movie. We had to look for Napkins and Straws they were no where in sight. When the movie started the movie was described video for the visually impaired. The whole theatre was getting annoyed I and my boyfriend were so close to walking out. The movie was fine and we enjoyed it. Leaving the theatre I had to use the Ladies room which most people have to do due to the drinks and food. I as well as many other women were absolutely disgusted as someone pooped on the floor beside the toilet. I will never go to that theatre again. It used to be a great theater to go to with my parents when I was a little girl during the late 90s early 2000s but it has gone downhill since then.

I really enjoy the small-theatre feel of this place. Probably among the cheapest options for going to the movies in London but definitely among the best service. The recliners are super comfortable and I personally like the popcorn better than the bigger theatres'. Buying tickets online and reserving seating has always worked perfectly for me. And you can't beat the underground parking and validation in the theatre!

The seats are also way bigger and nicer than Cineplex and since it isn't stadium seating, you can actually recline fully. Not sure why more people don't go here...

Went to see Avengers and was blown away at the comfort the new chairs provide. I sat through a 3 hour movie and never had to get up once. The definition of the movie was on par as was the sound not too loud and not too low. I will be back.

The video quality was mildly effected by a grainy sheen reflecting off the screen material. Felt like I was watching a 720p download during any brightly lit scene. Seats were super comfy... Although, I miss the days in which an employee would sit in the back and quiet people making continuous interruptions. Had a cellphone flash in my face ever 5 mins for last 30 mins and I should not have to miss the movie to resolve that scenario.

The renovations and advanced ticket purchase with the ability to choose your seating makes this one of the best, and most adorable, theatres in London. Parking is free in the covered structure with theatre validation. Concession stand prices are on par with everyone else. The theatres are typically not extremely busy, so it's a nice place for a date. Recommended if you're downtown and feel like taking in a flick.

We had a terrific experience! Low cost, great seats. I have a disability and I found the room between the seats SO WONDERFUL! The popcorn was delicious and refillable which was super surprising. I will definitely be watching all my movies in this theater from now on.

Excellent alternative to Cineplex and Landmark. Tucked away on the second floor of Citiplaza, it's a great place to watch a movie. The seats are large and recline, better than Cineplex's chairs for sure.

I've been seeing movies here for almost ten years and recently there has been a lot of changes, I'll need to give it a few more visits to make up my mind but I currently have mixed feelings. Pros: First of all the seats have been upgraded which is a big plus, especially when compared to the old ones. the auditoriums and screens have been made larger, and the overall visual and audio experiences have been improved. so far really enjoying these changes. Cons: The price. Up until recently its been 5$ to see movies on tuesdays, but Its now listed as 7$ and you will be charged 9$. nearly twice as much as it used to be, this makes it a lot less appealing and affordable to just go and see movies. this also makes rainbow a lot less competitive compared to other theaters (Cineplex theaters for example) I feel I am a lot less likely to just go see a movie with the price increases, and when I do see one there Isn't a lot that's going to make Imagine cinema the best choice. I would recommend giving it a chance as I will though, I'll probably update this review as I become more familiar this the changes.

Amazing place. Free parking (6 hours - try and park on P5 as the doors to the theatre are there) and phenomenal seats. Tickets for Adults: $11. You know people are comfortable when the film ends and no one is in a rush to leave.

Wow this place was really fun. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the theatre seats are recliners with a huge amount of space between you and the row in front of you which is really nice. It felt like seeing a movie in a cineplex VIP theatre except for a regular price.

I always go to rainbow. Is it silver city quality?no, but I still love it. It's much more personal and a lot cheaper. I really have no complaints about this theater. I'm not a picky person, so again, if you're looking for silver city quality just go to silver city. This is a cheaper alternative and I have NEVER had a problem here.

Mu family and I have gone here for a number of years and through the transition from Rainbow to Imagine theatres. The seating and spaciousness is very nice and I was thankful that they transferred to actual butter rather than the margarine Rainbow used :P. Although it is a popular spot, we've always been fortunate enough to find seating for our chosen flick. Recommend.

Well I did love this movie theater location but it seems that they are now permanently closed because of covid-19. The information on Google says that they are just temporarily closed but if you go to the imagine cinema website and select the location in London Ontario at Citi plaza they have completely removed the website for this location sadly. Its definitely a sad day because this was 6only movie theater that I ever went to because it's the most accessible for me and my medical alert service dog in terms of room for her to not get walked on by others. Anyways thanks for the memories during the years you were open.???? Update July 13th 2021 That's great news im very glad to hear that you are not permanently closed it really did seem that way when I couldn't even see London as a location on the website. Anyways can't wait to get in to see a movie hopefully something good is playing but i I have no idea what is showing right now.????????‍♂️????✌

I have many fond memories of this theatre from when it was rainbow and though the movies were a little older then most theatres, they were also much cheaper. These have transferred into the new place and I feel no love lost on the comfy new luxury recliners and it is certainly cleaner than I ever remember it being. My reason for the mid rating is in no response to poor treatment by staff or subpar theater conditions , this is an excellent place to catch a flick downtown. It is with regret that I rate with such a mid number and it's reason is that upon my last visit to the box office , eager to grab up some tickets to the latest hot flick , I was met not by a person behind the counter waiting to print the tickets to my selection but by a self checkout screen. Although I'm aware this is the modern world, I just don't love to see screens deemed more employable then people and hopefully it's just because I was a little late to the box office and the employee had left to tend to other duties but is usually behind the counter issuing tickets .

All the seats are the large leather super comfortable seats with the button that reclines, allowing one to watch the film almost lying down!

I haven't yet been to Imagine Cinemas to see a movie, but I did visit just to get some popcorn. The first time I went, I was disappointed to learn that they were already closed (it was 8PM on a Wednesday). The second time I went, the staff were friendly about me just visiting the concession stand without having first bought a ticket. The popcorn was good and priced similarly to other movie theatres ($7.00 for a large popcorn with the option to smother it in butter for $1.00). I like that you can now help yourself to buying tickets on the main level, instead of standing in a long line as was the case when it was still Rainbow Cinemas! I look forward to coming here to see a movie so I can comment on the experience in the auditorium.

The kids wanted to go to a theatre with reclining seats, but I chose Imagine for the cost savings ($10 saved on two children and one adult). Very pleasantly surprised to find they've installed all new reclining chairs. Staff were friendly, seats were really comfy, and the entire place was very clean. When the concession line ups got long, they doubled the staff. As soon as they add recycling bins, I'll change this to a five-star rating. :) ETA: One of the few places left to offer free refills on popcorn and pop, and no charge for butter topping!

I love going here on Tuesdays. Movies are $5 then, tax included! The screens are smaller, but that doesn't affect my movie experience. Last time I went, they had these really cool temperature-sensitive straws. The straws are red when they're cold and yellow when they're warm.

While Cineplex and Landmark have started to cut corners on traditional movie theatre foods like popcorn and nachos, Imagine Cinema manages to still provide very tasty movie foods. I love the nachos and my wife loves the popcorn. The cinemas are fairly small but not crowded and the chairs are comfy. Imagine cinemas please don't cheap out on movie foods like the other guys. Love this place. The new rainbow cinemas. They are laz-e-boy chairs now! Also Groupon deal. 22$ for two tickets 2 pops and 2 med popcorns. On a regular day its like getting all those extras for about $2. Not sure how long it will be on for though. Also tickets are $7 on Tuesdays.

The only annoying thing is there's a blue light around the button used for adjusting your seat. It never turns off and is a little distracting during the movie...just cover it with your coat if you can.

Great Sunday show! Quiet and not super crowded and about 40 bucks cheaper in total then other theatres Im used too. Staff was friendly. The only downside even on a Sunday is finding parking that doesnt break the bank. If they validate for movies its not advertised and I ended up paying the day rate because less is only 2 hours. Not perfect but a good experience.

The seats are comfortable, the parking is free but anyone with mobility issues should know that you have to take stairs or an escalator to get up to the theatre. There IS an elevator but you have to ask for permission to use it. No one should have to ask for permission to use an elevator. That creates dependency not accessibility. Epic fail, Citiplaza and Imagine Theatres...DO BETTER!

I went to see the movie called the book club, it was hilarious. The theatre did have some technical difficulties on that day so the movie was 30 min late to start. The theatre promptly rectified any inconvenience and handed out passes for a free movie on them. I returned that evening and watched the movie again. It was that funny. Also imagine cinemas had the leather reclining seats long before silver city.

Update: still fairly clean. Most staff are very nice, although there was one I encountered last time who seemed like I wasn't worth their time of day which was a little off-putting but it didn't completely ruin my experience. Small theater, decent sized screens. good prices. If you go to Fox and the fiddle which is down stairs you get a free movie on Thursday evening and all day Saturday. I can never finish their popcorn, too big. Washrooms seem clean. Staff are nice. They get the latest movies, seats recline and are comfortable (I'm 6ft). Squeeing past people with their chairs relclined isn't too much of an issue unless they're tall, is usually enough room. Their biggest screen for the first little bit more once they come out. No complaints,great place.

Price is decent for what it is. Had two different options for seats. Only food options were popcorn or candy. No nachos or hotdogs even though they had machines for them, possibly because it was an afternoon show. Unfortunately the people beside somewhere had a newborn baby which obviously started crying because that's what newborns do!! If the ushers are going to allow a baby in it, it would be nice if they were more diligent about following up to insure that the baby is not causing a disturbance for the other customers and not leave it up to customers to come make a complaint. Validated parking for 6 hours is a nice incentive.

I know it has been awhile since imagine has taken over rainbow but the quality has been amazing. The seats are so comfortable they could pass as little beds. They automatically recline at the push of a button and the leather is very comfortable. The food is a little pricey but that is to be expected at movie theaters nowadays but the large drinks do give a free refill. Given the location it is also handy that they have a parking validation ready. When you purchase a ticket you have the option of picking your seat and the bathrooms are well maintained. They are cheaper than cineplex and I find their seating quality and quantity to be superior.

My absolute favourite theater in London! Parking is free in the underground lot on the Corner of Clarence and York. Once you get your tickets, there's a computer beside the food area and all you do is scan your ticket and press "6 hour rate" or something and you're good to go! The nacho chips and cheese sauce are amazing as I am not a huge popcorn fan. I believe the food prices compared to other cinemas are cheaper. The ticket prices are the best in the city and the seats are soooooo comfortable. I feel like I'm in my bed. This is my go-to cinema. Well done Imagine Cinemas and thank you!

While watching the movie (Christopher Robin), there was constant noise from the movie coming from the screening room beside ours, making it a bit annoying; however it did not impair the movie whatsoever. Besides that, the chairs are great and the place is clean.

Feel like I was ripped off at the snack counter and the theatre was freezing. The packs they put together are a better value then buying snacks individually. My problem is that bottle water is $3.50 and a small pop is $4.25. However if you want the water in the value pack you can't get the bottle water even though it's less expensive. They made me take tap water. You need to reevaluate your prices.

I visited this theatre for the first time since it ceased to be called Rainbow Cinemas. I wasn't blown away by any new structural changes to the facility's lobby but the reclining seats were very comfortable, and the sound and screen were good as well. The place was quite clean including the recliners. All the employees were friendly and I enjoyed myself overall. Ticket prices are very good and I felt concession costs were typical of a movie theatre. A possible bonus for people with young children is the excitement for the child driving into the underground parking (which is free) climbing stairs and using the elevator to get to the theatre, my niece seemed to enjoy that part anyway. A couple disappointments were the fact that on the website it says if you buy a $50 gift card you will receive a free 2 for 1 pass but when I asked about it the employee said the company told him that deal expired. Also, we had to wait a little while in the lineup due to only one attendant being on duty but then again perhaps that helps them keep their costs down. Overall, because it is not a huge theatre and as a result the crowds aren't huge either I will attend this theatre again in the future.

While I still go here for mainstream films because of its proximity to home, I do not consider the renovations since it was acquired by Imagine an improvement. The ticket lobby has been changed from a bright and welcoming gate to a tomb-like hole that says "Buzz off!" to any customer. Furthermore, it eliminated the previous movie bingo loyalty program, which means it now has that much of a marketing disadvantage to Cineplex's Scene points. In addition, its renovations led to the price increases I feared with a $7 Tuesday price since I go to the movie theatre for the films, not for the furniture. However cheaper that its tickets are compared to the the competition, it does cross a threshold for me that enables me to see a movie regularly and increasing the Tuesday by $2 when the regular prices only went up by $1 is unacceptable and unfair.
