A law needs to be passed that sets a cap to how much theaters can overcharge customers for consession items. Ridiculous overcharges . ill be sneaking food in for many years at this rate. I have gone to this theatre a bunch of times but now I only go when I am forced to because a movie is not showing in the Pickering theatre. This theatre is in need for renovations asap. The seats are uncomfortable at hell and you feel it when you get up. Like every other theatre around the GTA is better, so Ajax get with the times.

I have many things to say. EARTH TO CINEPLEX GOD DANGIT JUST FIX THE BASKETBALL MACHINE. The basketball arcade there is broken, and you can just take shots from wherever whenever, because the barrier for balls doesn't come up. I assume they can fix this but I expect them not to. The movies sometimes hit green screens there, as there is no one in the projector room. I was watching toy Story 4(great movie btw) and we got to almost the end. Almost. It green screened when we had a good 15 minutes left. Also the food sizes are terrible. Anyway thank you for reading and bye.

Typical older theatre, pricing is less expensive than more modern theatres but the seats hurt me towards the end of a flick so be aware if you have back issues

I like this theater since its close to where I live, but lately it's not being maintained properly. The washroom is a mess (e.g. dirty wet floors, sink counters are soaking wet, strong urine smell), the carpets are dirty and you can find spilled popcorn here and there. The arcade is looking rather dark and most of the game machines are out of order. Hopefully it gets better soon.

I came to this theater the other day and absolutely loved my experience!! The manager on shift Max was so nice and very understanding, answered all my questions and suggested options as well, would definetly come back here based on this experience. Not sure why or how someone could have anything bad to say. Great staff????

Seating is a pain and so is the sick tasting popcorn. Washrooms are so far away, am glad you didn't keep them next door in home depot. Why not screen international movies as well? Ajax has many Indians and why not get indian movies like in markham?

It was my fi st time in a movie theatre in Ontario, maybe it's common there, but they make you select your seat when you buy your ticket. I was used to first come first serve in Quebec movie theatres. Not a bad thing, I was just surprised. Seats were comfortable. Place was clean.

The worst sound system in Canada. When final rap battle came they reduced the sound with zero bass. Man i ain't came to read lips, totally spoiled the fun. And clean the floor too.

Really like this local movie theatre. Enjoy seeing local teens gather there to watch movies or play in the arcade area. Not too sure that it is wheelchair accessible. There are several steps to go up to where the movies are screening. Perhaps there is a ramp or elevator somewhere, that I just didn't see.

Pretty cramped with uncomfortable seating. Good screening and audio though. Overpriced popcorn as usual, couldn't rate as I never buy it. The floor in the cinema is sticky, I assume because of leftover drinks. Extremly old. Good selection of movies. I would recommend going to a landmark cinema if you could

One of the smaller Cineplex Theatres. Minimal arcade/game area, and the actual theatres themselves seem to be a step behind some of the bigger locations in terms of comfortable seating and general facilities. Staff are nice enough, and screen audio is pretty acceptable. All told, nothing bad, but nothing really good. For me, they're the most convenient location, but if I'm looking for a nice theater experience, I'm travelling over to Pickering or Scarborough.

One of the uncleaned Cineplex I have ever been too, the smell inside sucks, carpets & floors are not maintained well, one of the thing I was stocked is chairs they are just like a cheap Material ones compared to other cineplex, staff do not maintain the crowd well or guide them once movie is playing if in case other theatre show is done they are allowed to walk-in to other shows because no one is there to watch them. It was very disturbing, 100% I am not visiting this place again in my life time thou. I do not even want to give a star for this it worth ZERO. One best thing is parking, you need not to worry about it you will get a spot for sure

Most of the theatres inside are smaller but there are a couple bigger ones. If you like sitting far away from the screen like me, your best bet is to sit in the last row, which in the small theatres is still too close. Definitely needs a reno!

Theatre is one of the older theatres in Durham region. They show all the up to date movies, and usually at decent times. They need to upgrade their gaming area, and in the next few years invest in upgrading the seats and offer VIP theatres. Saw a 10:15pm movie, and concession stand closed too early. The reason was because the next day they had a kids party to prepare for.

Some people seem to forget that the cinema is not a zoo. It would be great that the employees remind their customers not to talk during the movie. We had the worst movie experience because of three teenagers who wouldn't stop talking. I really wish the employees would do something about that.

This movie theater is the worst I have been. It was dirty, popcorn on the floor all over. The seats were old and they don't close the door which means you hear the noise from outside. This theater needs major improvement.

Much lower prices than the megaplexes, but the picture and sound are still great. The self serve kiosks can't read barcodes (like Scene cards) from smartphone, not enough room to fit the smartphone under the scanner. You have to buy tickets from the snack booth.

Worse movie theater I've ever been to. Staff members (including the manager) are rude to customers. Considering how much you pay to go watch a movie, you would think that the experience would great but not the case at this location. Staff insulted me in front of other movie goers, when all I wanted to do was ask a simple question to clear of some confusion that everyone and myself was experiencing. WORSE CINEPLEX MOVIE THEATER! I would recommend finding another location or just waiting for the movie to come out on Netflix or other streaming websites.

A small old cinema, but feels pretty cozy. Seems clean enough. I suggest you to pick the furthest seats since their theater is very small while the screen is still standard huge. They started the movie late though and the movie was already supposed to end very late so it was a little inconvenient.

Ok theatre. Nothing special. If we want to see a 3D movie and want a better experience, we go to Grandview in Oshawa. That is an amazing theatre. Top notch!

I went to see a movie in the area. I was utterly shocked at how untidy the theater was kept. It was like walking into a popcorn apocalypse! The floor was covered in popcorn by the concession stand. Disgusting! After the movie it was the same thing! Mess everywhere including the washrooms. I have been to other Cineplex theatres they are immaculate. You see staff cleaning everywhere you walk. Exhibit A...the pics below dont really do it justice. What a dissapointment.

I gave this five stars is that this is such a great theater since I have been there since 1998. Their hot dogs are wonderful as they are, including all the Coke products. Perhaps they might change to Pepsi beverages later in life if they decide.

Super unhappy with their new system. WHY DON'T YOU HAVE PEOPLE?!?! the kiosks are awful. And they don't take cash. Some people take forever to use them cause they don't know how. Just awful. Nobody to help or ask questions. Didn't mind the small theatres or the uncomfortable seats. But won't be rushing back there anytime soon.

Went to the concession stand ask to get our money back informed the machines were broken kept eating tokens n when finally it turned on there was no puck for air hockey n basketball ramp got stuck for while before dropped.. Site has plenty of free parking on hand. Inside, pretty typical of what to expect from a normal Cineplex location. Nothing outstanding or special. Typical concession counter. Several self serve ticket machines on the side when you first come in. Lots of theaters here. Washrooms are alright. Again, pretty standard. Leaving is a challenge. Trying to turn south on Salem Rd can take some time depending on when you are there because of the traffic and lack of lights at the exits out of there facing Salem.

This is an older theatre. The seats and screens are old. There is no longer customer service people at the ticket desk which can be annoying if you don't buy you tickets online. This theatre is good to see a comedy or kids movie bur not a block buster action flick. It's easy to find parking at this complex.

OK theater at best. Popcorn used be to fresh and you would get the wonderful smell of fresh popcorn when you walk in. Now to save cost the staff pre-make the popcorn, its no longer fresh! I have tasted microwave popcorn that tastes better than this garbage they sell. I you are going to overcharge us for popcorn, at make it taste good. Do your self a favor and spend some extra time to drive to the oshawa ciniplex.

This Cineplex location does not have stadium style seating, the seating is cramped, the particular theater room (#3) I was in was small and crowded. Not sure what the other theater rooms are like, but if they're as small as that one, it's not good. Overall, the sound and picture quality were fine, but that's what you expect when you pay to go see a movie. Ajax has grown significantly since this theater was built and it's time for a new, bigger, updated layout to serve the customers.

Just as an FYI to any newcomers to Ajax. I've been here since 1993, and at that time this theatre did not exist. This theatre has been here for over 10 years, and is not one of your newer, technologically advanced theatres. Everything is original, as far as I can remember. Every time I go there, I fully appreciate it's location, as I don't like driving a long distance just to see a movie. It's better than nothing at all. The next big thing we need in Ajax is a large Mall, but it seems bike lanes are more important to our current Municipal Gov't.

Went with a large group 60 children and staff. Prearranged our visit with group sales and the manager was prepared...had our seats together, concession was ready and all in all the visit was great. Thanks to the manager and staff....good job. We go at least 3 times a year.

Great place to watch a movie. They always have the newest releases . A great snack bar. They also have a very good arcade which the kids love. Loads of parking here . Buy your tickets on line or show up, either way is good.

We lived in Oshawa for four years and regularly went to the Cineplex Odeon theatre on Grandview, so I'm used to a bigger, newer theatre. This location is clearly much older and the individual theatres are quite small. We went to see a movie towards the end of its run so we didn't have any major crowd issues, but I'd hate to see this location when it's busy... even the lobby doesn't seem like it would accommodate a lot of people! The ticketing does seem to be entirely electronic, so if you're not comfortable with that you may have a bad time. I definitely wouldn't choose this theatre over Whitby's AMC or Oshawa's Cineplex if you're close to those locations.

Bullcrap menu is like mc donalds, everything are $20 combos, no list price for a single popcorn (like mc donalds not publishing just fries on their menu) bullcrap, butter is extra, popcorn box tasted better. Not a compainer, but needed to be said.

First time at Cineplex since Covid and they reopened. Only four of us in the whole theatre. They're doing an amazing job making sure social distancing is in place. Tickets have to be bought online and seats are chosen upon checkout.

Once you go recliner you can't go back. Oshawa Cine has recliners, Whitby Landmark has recliners yet ajax Cine is lacking. Anyways first time at this theater after driving past it for 12 years. I stepped in side and instantly I felt cramped. Oshawa Cine felt more cozy and relaxed.

Cineplex Ajax is a great movie theater with ample parking and comfortable seating. This location is well maintained and has 3D screenings. There is an arcade corner and vending machines for snacks in case you miss the concession counter at the entrance. The pop corn is always freshly prepared. The bathrooms are clean but the urinals lack dividers, which does not really cost much to install.

This theatre hasn't changed much , especially if you compare it to the other Cineplex locations nearby, it's pretty due for an upgrade. There is reserved seating available but, it is NOT stadium style seating, meaning all the seats are on one level. Not ideal for a movie going experience. The theatres are also much older and have much older worn out seats.

Two of the few important aspects of movie experience are 1) big screens and 2) comfortable viewing angle and seats. After moving to Ajax, I am so disappointed in the two Ajax/Pickering Cineplex theatres; there is a reason why their tickets are cheaper than Scarborough town centre and landmarks 24. The seats are all horizontal, even if you sit all the way back, you are looking up; imagine that posture for 2hrs. You are better off commuting to Whiby or Scarborough for a decent movie experience. If people are satisfied with this theater then they obviously haven't visited other theatres.

I paid for a movie an hour and a half in advance only to be refused entry because of audio issues in the theater. The staff knew days prior to the movie that there were issues with the speaker sound. And yet NOTHING was done. But it gets worse....I booked for the same movie scheduled to play 3 hours later and was refused because management had double booked the seats. This was the most piss poor management I've ever seen for a movie priemer in my life! Do better!

My wife and I see a lot of movies and love the Cineplex in Etobicoke, (The Queensway) but surprisingly we have recently learned moving to Ajax not all Cineplex theaters are the created equal. We went on a Tuesday, (cheap night), and when we arrived I noticed how small it was in the lobby. We used the automated system to buy our seats and when we picked our seats they said not available so we tried a few other seats and finally got two thinking it was super busy. When we went inside the seats were all empty, we were the only ones there. We couldn't help notice how small the theatre was inside, half the size of a normal Cineplex but what was more noticeably different was the seats, OMG, I'm a big fellow and I could barely get in the seats, horribly uncomfortable as soon as I squeezed in. My wife proceeded to buy us a coffee but the concession did not sell it, just WOW. We have since then discovered the Landmark in Whitby and holy cow what a difference, the reclining seats were fantastic. We will no longer ever likely set foot in the Ajax Cineplex, sorry to say but the theatre really needs a major upgrade before it will be popular.

There's really nothing special about it, but it serves its purpose well enough. The arcade is rather lackluster and generally devoid of people, but meh, at least they have one I guess. The theaters are generally clean and the staff seem relaxed. The quality of the screens and audio are decent, though again, there's no access to special or particularly high end experiences. Ultimately it serves as a good option to go out and see a movie if you're already in the area and not feeling particularly motivated to travel for something more 'unique' or specialized.

*TLDR*; there are improvements that can be made (like better seating and Timeplay/wifi), but it is still generally a decent theatre. Relatively convenient location, although the parking lot is a bit difficult at peak times. The building is much larger than the Pickering movie theatre and much nicer too, with friendly staff. The theatre meets the general Cineplex standards, the decor is nice and it is usually clean. The arcade is somewhat small but sufficient. But there is always room for improvement; the seat handles do not recline (well) and the seat handles do not go up, the food could be better prepared and made more wallet-friendly, and there is no Cineplex wifi or Timeplay.

Staff is not bad but nothing particularly special either and the facility itself is similar to other cineplex theatres... but the theatres are smaller than I would like. Most, if not all of the rooms are so small that the seats are pretty much level with no incline. I don’t HATE it but considering it’s the same price it can be quite frustrating at times.

Most of the times has more availability of seats than Pickering. More on Tuesdays with the reduced prices. Self service tickets. No cashiers. Only customers service. Organized place. Clean. Nice place. Huge parking lot. Better to buy tickets online and pick them up with the cellphones. Sometimes machine no working but you can print the tickets on the caffetery.

Theaters are quite small and the sound systems are lacking. The place is in need of renovations. Screens are not too big either, but just an okay size. Only good thing about these theaters are that they're in Ajax so they're close to home for me.

I love this cinema. I go here on a weekly basis. I love to see movies in the theatre. The staff ate awesome here. If you have a complaint or inquiry they do theif best to find a solution. The theatres are small but I like that cozy feeling. It is very clean here. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Christine

Went to early show, the afternoon matinee. Had to purchase tickets at register at Refreshment stand. Not many staff around, but there wasn't many people around either. Seats were fine. Enjoyed the movie.

At 10 screens, it's a little smaller than the Whitby Landmark and Scarborough Town Centre. So it can feel crowded, and it can feel overrun if there's a new release that appeals to younger viewers. But it can also feel a little more personal and intimate than those huge spots. Friendly staff.

Watched Sooryavanshi a week ago. This cinema is very old and run down. A few people below had a similarly bad experience with one if the managers Max. Very rude and served myself and multiple customers with an attitude. The staff also cannot keep this building clean the lobby was a mess, washroom was a mess, the cinema was still messy from the last show when I sat in my seat. If you have the option, drive to landmark instead rather than going here. This cinema is walking distance to me, yet I'll never watch a movie here again.

Just wanted to write a review about their customer service. We wanted to find out about a Family Fave movie which they do every Saturday morning at 11am (only 2.99 each!). Wanted to bring a youth group but could not plan ahead since they don't tell the Ajax location or any location until a few days before the date. I went to the Cineplex location and spoke with Meddielyn. She was SOOOO helpful. She immediately went inside to check her email for details. When she was unable to find which movie would be playing Feb 1, she took my email address and promised to email me as soon as she knew. She kept her promise! Emailed us with the name of the movie and other options as well. Very grateful for such excellent customer service. Her email and follow-ups to answer even more questions that we had, helped us to plan the movie for the kids group. Thanks to Meddielyn , our plan is on track. Looking forward to seeing a movie (Arctic Dogs or Dolittle) soon! Thank you Meddielyn !!

Clean theatre ,friendly staff, great customer service. I usually go to this theatre to catch the 1:15 shows its not crowded at this time and I have a great option of seats. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wanted a small soda but the girl serving pointed out I could get more for my money by ordering the medium. There is a movie theater less than a mile from my house, but I prefer to go to this one.

Some of the staff is nice and some just have some serious problems by accusing me by sneaking in food when it wasn't even me and then a few minutes later they accused me and my buddy on prank calling the cops and I wasnt even near the phone at all and i told then that i would never come back to this location and btw their seats were terrible

I am use to Landmark theaters with recliner seats in all their theaters....I found the ticket purchasing process long and frustrating. Theaters felt small and claustrophobic compared to Landmark. Staff was friendly and theaters were clean.

I love this theatre! I happen to like the small theatre, it feels very home-like. The employees are very nice (especially Wayne). Although it is not as flashy or big as other theatres, you should be here for the enjoyment of the film!

Omg. I decided to visit this cineplex in Ajax. The seating was the worst! So small and uncomfortable! Back pain and butt pain by the time the movie was finished. The popcorn was stale! Please upgrade it. Will not ever be returning. Oshawa cineplex and whitby landmark amazing. Wish I could have gotten my money back.

I ussually dont rate anything but seeing as i paid to go see a movie and it was the worst experience ever. There was 4 different groups of ppl talking throughout the whole movie . And one if those groups was one row in front and on the left who were the worst of the talking also they had two cellphones lit up . Shameful. And very disrespectful.

Never come to this cinema at all possible. I have came here twice and it isn’t the customer service that is the problem. It ruined my theatre experience. Both times the speaker was broken and i heard crinkling the whole time during the movies. Also the seats are cramped and uncomfortable.

There was a good selection of movies. The Concession prices were way too high for what you got. The floors were very messy, and so were the seats and cup holders. Lots of parking spaces available.

Theatre was unclean. No seating if you have to wait for your movie. Popcorn were cold and stale and nachos tasted horrible. Bathrooms aren't clean either. One of the worst experiences I've had.

A heads up to those who go to the Ajax theater. I had a bad experience with the manager. I asked the person at the concession stand a question and was told they did not know the answer and that I should ask the manager. While giving my tickets to the ticket clerk I asked to speak to the manager who happened to be standing behind the clerk. My first impression was he was abrasive. He had no customer service skills at all and spoke to me in a rude manner. The last thing he said was if you don't like it here then leave and go to landmark theater . This was because I asked why is it that everytime I purchase a combo I only have the choice of candy from the top two rows and why don't we have the option of paying an extra 50 cents to upgrade. Just saying that amount as an example. I think we spend enough money that as a consumer we should have the option to select what we want. It is our money ! When I complained to head office they didn't seem to care about what I had to say (I guess they all get the same training) and they offered me a free bag of popcorn. Wow thanks! My advice to those who have not been to landmark go and try it you will not be disappointed!

Management team is just awful! Max who is a manager at this location needs to be replaced as soon as possible. His customer service skills are horrible and he just does not know how to treat customers. It's shocking to see such a big company like cineplex would keep someone like this around. Just a terrible experience overall and I would rate 0 stars if I could.

Very poor customer service coming from the manager on site by the name of Max. I purchased online tickets for this location and came in person to cancel and get a refund. Instead of refunding, I was asked to scan my payment card multiple times and was charged again for another two tickets. This manager does not know what they are doing. I asked for a refund receipt for these two transactions and he said it's not cineplex's policy to give receipts to customers. He ignored the fact that I showed him this picture of a second transaction taken OUT of my card and said it's a problem with my bank. The first time I scanned my card, apparently the refund did not work. The second time I scanned, it said "payment". The third time I scanned said "refund". He made up a story that all three times it did not work and he had to override the third time but could not even show me a receipt of the refund. He also lied about a confirmation email I should receive but I did not receive any new emails in junk or inbox. If you are trying to get refunds for online purchases, do not go to this manager because he does not know what he is doing. I hope upper management sees this as I have been waiting on hold with guest services for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Poor Cineplex. Misrepresented by bad management.

This particular theatre often does not have hot dog combo. It happened to us 3 times. And they refused to prepare hot dogs . They said it takes 30 min to cook them and they will be closed by that time. It was 930 pm. The last movie starts at 1030. It was Tuesday . The theatre was packed and they don't have hot dogs. The guy in the till said someone came before us and bought all 5 hot dogs. They have 5 hot dogs for packed theatre. We just left. I will never go back there. Especially that area is scatchy. If yu come out of the movie late there are some strange groups loitering in parking lot often.

It's technically up to date, but needs a complete Reno, the lobby is congested, concession stand is cramped. And the theatres all though spacious. Have the old style chairs probably purchased in bulk at discount. Audio was clear but lack luster. Would not recommend a future visit unless the whole theatre was updated

My sister and I went to see Django Unchained, and when we were seated waiting for the previews to pass, then the movie started to glitch, (for 2 minutes), unfortunately the people watching the movie with use had to get out of the seat and inform the employees what had happen. Then the movie started to play again, but only for a few seconds, and the screen just was black, and again...people had to get out of there seats to tell the employees what had happened... so we were sitting in the pitch black for 10 minutes until they finally turn on the lights, and someone who wasn't a manger/supervisor but a young male employee had to tells us that they are not going to be following through with the movie because of technical difficulties. But just to be clear I was very disappointed on how they handled it, and how they didn't inform us what was going on.

This theater is dated and needs to be renovated. But the overall experience is the same across Complex's portfolio of theaters. Service was good and my experience watching Infinity War was still enjoyable.

Absolutely disgusted in this garbage theater let's start off with the seats all other theaters in durham recline but ok I get it they haven't caught up with the times but the arm rests don't even go up I am a tall guy I had to stetch My legs out to the side as the space inbetween seats was very limited and if I sat up straight My legs would be crushed by the arm rests which are firmly in place let's move over to concession I bough a 10 dollar pop which was absolutely absurd but I wanted the dark Phoenix collectors cup guess if I got a free refill on a 10 cent drink which cost Me 10 dollars and every other theater happily provides to You if You guessed yes I did get a free one then You have guessed wrong and haven't been paying attention at all I will never ever EVER be returning to this garbage theater nor will I ever be purchasing anything at any cineplex ever again what an abslute garbage theater
