Here you will see all the information of real people like you who bought the products and services of Cineplex Cinemas Markham and VIP (Movie Theater) near to the territory of Ontario (Canada).
At present the firm receives a rating of 4.4 out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is very high, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite credible. If people have bothered to rate when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater is included in the category of Movie theater.
I went to the VIP showing of wonder woman. Food was delicious, seats were comfortable, and the beer was cold. No complaints, will be going again.
New Cineplex; very clean and organized experience. Big and plentiful cinema rooms. Decent selection of food (for a movie theatre, that is) on the first floor. Everything looks nicer when it is new! No complaints, really. The only thing is that it is a little out of the way, in an fast-developing area, but kind of "middle of nowhere" right now.
Clean, friendly staff and comfortable seats.
Great movie theatre conveniently located. We come here especially when they're showing Chinese movies. It is literally the only theatre we know that shows some of the more popular Chinese movies. The facilities are always clean and well maintained. Close to lots of great restaurants as well and parking is ample.
Love their VIP section. Not a big fan of the VIP food. There is a place downstairs called Ma Va Me and it is much better food and a better bang for your buck. Parking is a bit tricky here.
Clean. Great sounds in the IMAX theatre as expected. Watched 'Tenet'. Only about 12 people in the entire theatre for a Sunday matinee!
the place is very neat and clean and during this pandemic they're maintaining the social distancing successfully in theater as well as in lobby areas.
One of the nicest movie theatres I’ve personally been to. The lobby is all white tile, resembling a museum. They even have metal animal art pieces as decor and several murals painted throughout. I purchased my tickets online and opted for the VIP screening. When you enter, you pick up your tickets via the automated machines or line up for a cashier then go upstairs (they have escalators/elevators available). Upstairs are the concessions and arcades ! To the left is the “VIP lounge”, meaning 19+ area. Yes, a bar where we can drink alcohol while we watch movies -it’s great! The service is friendly and very attentive. Did I mention the leather couches that recline?
I came here to watch Deadpool 2 with some friends. Was great, considering one of us worked there! theatres are clean, and the surrounding area is quite nice. Very large underground parking was also a plus! Have not experienced the VIP side of things, but will definitely be back soon!
A wonderful date night. Clean and comfortable movie theatre. Worth the extra in seating alone, but the premium food options as well as alcohol elevate the VIP experience.
Don't know why but the ticket prices are always more expensive here. For instance, i can purchase regular tickets at other Cineplex theatres but most, if not all, popular movies at VIP Markham only feature the more expensive options of 3D, DBox, etc. I have to go elsewhere now in order not to pay more for those options I don't even need or enjoy.
It is the ultimate movie experience with more then 10 screens running at the same time. The Imax screens are breathtaking. VIP lounge, Parking is huge and its free. Overall an amazing place to spend some quality time
Very entertaining place, not just movies. Nice arcade and surrounding restaurants are excellent for a long night out. Great atmosphere with a unique location
For a new ish theatre. The seats are really uncomfortable. Watching a long move is actually more of a pain in the butt. Landmark theatres are so much nicer and way more comfortable.
This is a beautiful and modern movie theatre that provides comfortable seating and unique options. They show a lot of Chinese and foreign films with English subtitles. You won't find anything else like this in the GTA.
Very nice VIP theatre. Food was great. Service was fast and efficient. Seats are very comfortable which is def a must for the price tag. Def would recommend if your looking for a date night and you both enjoy movies and some food/drinks.
Honestly. I just hate Cineplex. I mean why aren't they displaying in high quality. Even the sound has been sub par compared to most modern home setups. Just overall. If your going to drop $30 for. Movie and popcorn I expect good video and sound at least better or the same what a standard 7.2 modern tv home setups would have. This is what monopolies create.
Nice Cineplex, the entire area is VERY new and modern. Seats in the theater were great when they were new....however a little worn now and cannot compare to Imagine Theatres....full recliners. Otherwise the sound was impressive. $72 visit for 3 tickets and a few snacks.
Covid restrictions are in place, lots of spacing between yourself and another movie goer. Go on Tuesday for half price tickets.
Fast service getting our tickets and food. Amazing arcade! Overall an awesome place to bring family and friends to watch a movie and play some arcade games ???? I'll never get tired of coming here.
Overall it's good. The screens offer a clear picture and the sound in standard and 3d is very good. The Imax screens are great but the sound can be very loud. Some movies I wonder if it's within safe levels. We could hear Dunkirk when we were outside the cinema walking in. Prices are expensive but that is the way the industry is setup with how they pay the studios. Seating In Imax is good. The regular seats can get uncomfortable in a long movie. Nicer seating would make the experience more enjoyable. Collect the screen points they can help lower the cost.
Love how glamorous and modern it looks. It is a very popular movie theater. Not that you can buy a pair of tickets, drinks and popcorn at Costco and it will cost you less than buying two tickets directly at the movie theater.
VIP section was great wonderful comfortable seats. Geat sound & clear screen. Downton Abbey was great 5 stars
Man wish the States had theaters like this. Truly beautiful, kiosk set up's for rapid tickets and friendly staff to help. I had some issues at my kiosk and BEA helped me thru it. What a fantastic lady, we spoke a bit and was very genuine.
Very nice new cineplex replacing the fmp one. Very modern with very nice seats and large cinemas. Great VIP area. They just need to fix and add more mobile ticketing machines as they have a hard time scanning larger smartphones and there is usually a long line up at them. Otherwise Great location in downtown Markham, parking is usually easy to find as there is an underground lot, but on busy nights it may be more difficult to find.
Great new theatre in a great location. Parking (both underground and outside lot) can get busy during the rush as the location does have a couple restaurants and gym, but it is a nice spot to get away from the mall crowds. VIP is a great option if you don't mind spending a bit more. Also has IMAX3D option.
This is a clean and well run cinema overall. I've only ever done the VIP area, which I absolutely love. Only complaint would be the concessions stand in the VIP area. This should really just be shut down. If I'm going VIP I expect the quality of the food and beverage (and service) to be above that of the regular admissions. The concession in VIP though is full of old and stale products because it's not as busy. I've gotten popcorn there before that tasted like it was made hours before. If there isn't the volume to properly sustain it - shut it down.
This was my husband and I's first experience with VIP and I don't think we can ever see a movie in regular theatres again. Well worth our 1.5 hour drive as we live north of the GTA but wanted a special experience for Rogue One. The drink menu has something for everyone and the prices are no worse than a restaurant. Everything you need is in the VIP section- once you enter, you don't need to leave. We found the service great, our waitress was very friendly and we even had a manager stop by to ask us how we were enjoying things. I did however have 2 issues: for one, our theatre was absolutely boiling. I'm the type who is always cold and I was honestly sweating. That's how you know it's too warm. It's like their thermostat broke and was just pumping in warn air the whole time. Secondly, I think they were having technical issues with the projector because the lighting on our movie was so dark you really had to squint to see. Rogue One has a lot of "dark" scenery to begin with so by the end of the movie my eyes were super strained. Other than that, I would return. I chalk those two things up to bad luck and I'm definitely willing to give this place another chance for the next Star Wars movie.
Very nice theatre, but unfortunately the other customers here ruin the whole experience. When I go to other theatres in the GTA, the audience are polite. At this location, people are kicking chairs, many people talking loudly in a foreign language during the movie, phones going off, phone screens are lit up. I had to turn around and ask someone to stop kicking my chair because it felt like she was practicing for a soccer game. I’ve never seen this kind of behaviour so prevalent. I’m only going to come here for VIP next time, the regular theatre was horrible.
Theatres are great, parking situation is garbage. On a Tuesday night, you should park really far so you don't have to hunt for parking... And then be prepared to take 20 minutes to get out. How does an overflow parking lot have only one entrance/exit? It just incites people do illegal things like use the oncoming lane to bypass the line and make an illegal turn. By people, I mean impatient idiots.
I can never and will never go back to avx searing, VIP seating has spoiled me. Went to go see gaurdians of the Galaxy 2 had a few beers and nachos in my seat while the movie was on. The actual seats or so comfy and spacious it doesn't matter if someone is sitting next to you, you barley notice them, that's how much space you have. Look forward to going back.
The VIP theatre is the way to go for the best full serve movie experience. Large screen with individual sofa seating, and catered food and drinks brought right to your seats...not to mention no pesky kids to deal with.
Free underground parking, great for the winter or on a rainy day. Payment is on the first floor and the theatre is on the 2nd floor. Both escalator and elevators are available.
Most of the ticket self-service stations don't work, which leads to waiting in line. The worker at the counter asked for my bankcard to "ensure I actually bought my tickets". Finally got the tickets. Running late for the movie now, I find my seats in an poorly air-conditioned theatre. The film was good, but I will not go back to this location. I am pretty forgiving for the service industry as I know the job can be frustrating. So I share my experience so the location can improve, not to air my laundry.
Ive been going to this location since it opened, for the first time I dealt with a very rude worker. She was a young tall short blonde hair girl working at cash and she gave us such unnecessary attitude. she kept rolling her eyes and giving us snarky looks. Since she was underage the manager had to hand us our alcohol, when I questioned why we were receiving so much attitude for no reason she simply replied "its been a long night". I work in the service business never would I give a customer rude attitude just because I felt like it. Very poor management skill and very unprofessional worker. She's lucky I didn't throw my drink at her :) no patience for foolishness.
Probably the best Cineplex in the GTA. There's an abundance of parking, and plenty of restaurants nearby. It's not attached to some public transit station, so the amount of eccentric people are lessened. Looks great, VIP service is awesome. They could definitely include more ticket pickup kiosks upstairs though. The amount of times you need to wait for some confused movie goer that couldn't figure out the machine is astounding.
I love this theatre!!! VIP staff are AMAZING! GREAT PINA COLADA!!! 10 stars. I've gone to Yonge and Dundas VIP and had horrible service. Markham VIP definitely raised the bar! Customer service excellence. Keep it up!!!
This location does not support online pick up using the bar code sent via email. You must present your credit card or scene card. So you should not pay by Paypal, Visa Checkout, or Mastercard Checkout. Also, no one carries their Scene card as its built into the Cineplex App. This location has gone backwards in terms of customer experience. For a brand new flagship location this is very disappointing.
If you're OK paying a little extra for comfort, convenience, service and a mature crowd then watching a movie in a VIP theatre is the only way to go. This location doesn't disappoint. Underground parking and a decent selection of restaurants available in the building, ranging from Subway to Milestone's
Friends and I visited the VIP cinema to see the latests Star Wars film. The VIP experience is quite impressive, separate entrance and lobby area. Table service in the lobby area is good with a selection of food and drinks. Inside the theatre itself the seats are large and very comfortable, best of all there is waitress service for food and drink to your seat before the film starts. One of the nicest touches is that it is 19+ so there are no kids to disturb the film.
Theaters are clean and comfortable... Too bad the hours for some of the movies aren't accommodating. Other than that there's a few good bbt and food places to sit at
Once you go VIP, sitting in a regular theater feels like sitting in an economy plane seat. This may sound pretentious but can honestly never go back. No annoying kids crying during a movie (STILL don't understand why parents bring them). There's still the occasional degenerate or two in the theater, but the +19 environment weeds out most of them.
Chose to experience VIP for the first time. It was okay but the staff was terrible. When I first walked in I'm ignored by two waitresses as they chat amongst each other. I wanted to place an order to be served at my seat when the movie starts. Eventually I approached the bartender who took my order. Since it was my first time in VIP I naturally had a lot of questions as to how things work and he did his best to answer them. When I went to the theatre where my movie was playing again I was ignored by 3 hostesses as they seemed surprised I was there. Later on when they brought me my food I was not provided with any napkins. After multiple attempts to flag down the hostess to no avail I had to get out of my seat and go down to where she was to ask for napkins. For the extra money this did not feel like VIP service at all. To add to the drama the movie was delayed due to a technical issue for 20 mins.
Nice new theater. It's now my regular movie spot, has several food options surrounding it, so it makes it a convenient location. Either grab a quick bite at the semi fast food places if you're in a rush to catch your show, or sit down at one of the restaurants.
This new part of Markham is great and the theater is in the middle of it. The facilities are new and the staff are helpful. There are plenty of restaurants next door. Try parking underground it's usually easier to find a spot there than in the lot.
Fantastic location and great service! VIP theater is great for the price! The theater is spotless, people who work there are friendly and very helpful and the manager Ben is fantastic! I truly hope his hard work is recognized with in the company.
Deciding to stay neutral, here’s why: I booked our tickets online for IMAX, under the impression that it’s VIP IMAX since the seating arrangements to be booked online was a total of 8-10 seats per row. Once we arrived, we were dead wrong! Just a regular theatre with a bigger screen and “better sound”... for $20/person. That’s a rip off! I don’t know if it’s the specific theatre though. Pros: Clean facility, decently organized, everything in one place. They have arcades, concessions, VIP entrance, etc. Overall a neutral experience, but totally misled. Not impressed.
Pretty nice new theater, can be busy at times but the underground parking (free) is really nice for when it's raining and you forgot your umbrella. Lots of good restaurants in the plaza as well so you can grab a good bite to eat before the show.
The only positive thing I can say about this theatre is that they accepted our COVID-19 mask exemptions without subjecting us to discrimination or demanding proof from us. However, they are tyrannical when it comes to the contact tracing nonsense. They were going to deny us entry to see our movie and even called the manager on us because we politely declined on giving out our personal contact information for the government's contact tracers. Our personal info is protected by privacy legislation and we have a right to decline on giving out that info, without being coerced or penalized. It was a humiliating experience because customers in the line behind us started confronting us and getting angry over the fact that we didn't want to volunteer our private info for more tyrannical government surveillance through their contact tracers.
Worst Concession I've experienced in Ontario. The beach holding popcorn for another guest walks up to a cash register left of the one I'm lining up for stares at me and I say I haven't ordered yet thinking she was mixing up me for another customer. She replies with the worst attitude thinking I'm dumb or something. Then goes on to give attitude the rest of the order.
The VIP theater is really great. Their staff would come up to you and ask you what kind of food and drinks you would like. Highly recommended for special occasion - otherwise, it's the same cost to eat elsewhere and go to the movie! 19+ only fyi
Some what clean theatre and a few Dbox seats didn't work but friendly staff and beautiful cinema lobby. Parking lot can get a little full becausr of all the stores and restaurants in the plaza. This is a great spot to hang out before or after a movie.
The theater is a little dirty. Especially on the walls. Management must not be doing their job very well. Most employees are very friendly especially for the tall African fellow. Really showed me exactly where I needed to go. Great service. 4/5 stars because the tall Guyanese guy really made me feel comfortable and secure when holding my valuable tickets, popcorn, and large ice cold coke. Overall the movie theater experience was good. VIP was really nice and service was wonderful!
Went to the VIP...This VIP is very crammed...if you want a better experience....go to Pickering...all seats recline and more table space to eat at your seat. Time for this place to change out their seats
Safe atmosphere, new and clean. IMAX seating is a little cramped, difficult to get in and out of inner seats. There are several fast casual restaurants to grab a meal before or after the movies.
Really like watching flicks here! Friendly staff, comfortable, clean theatres. Didn't like their chicken burgers at the concession stand, but the nachos and cheese make up for it!!! Stop off at Thai Express for their deep fried banana covered in chocolate!!
Very modern layout and amenities (arcade, concessions, VIP cinema, more restaurants nearby) with understanding staff. One thing I'd recommend is assigned seating (therefore no fighting and controversy over seating); and nowadays reclining seats are the new trend in cinemas, which would make a very relaxing experience and a convivial environment for new and returning customers.
Place was first class and food was good. But service took too long for food to arrive- 40 minutes later. We ordered 3 course which all came at once.
Very poor screen quality very dark #7 when I take my children yesterday to watch the Dolittle 2020 . Almost we watch Black and white movie Tv quality better than this screen . I don't recommend this place. we will not go there any more
I just watched the Spider-Man movie couple of days ago. I was pretty surprised that there were actually people set right beside me during this COVID time. Since they entered, they did not wear masks and was eating and drinking all the time. All the cinemas we went to usually they won’t let me buy tickets right next to someone. Anyway, very terrible experience and if I got sick I would definitely report it to public health.
The VIP seats do not recline and if you watch a movie after 10pm, they wont even serve you food! Dont waste your money at this theater, go for an IMAX or Ultra AVX experience instead. The screen, seats and staff here suck!
We walked in. Jazz band, awesome. Get it, clean. Service friendly. We ordered at about 7:05. Movie was at 7:15 but previews are long. Sadly, we got our food, in my opinion, a little late, movie had started. That was around 7:30-35.... Aside from that, all good.
Newly opened Cineplex in Markham that has most of the seat options (VIP, AVX, DBox). It has a nice VIP lounge, but the seats in regular auditoriums are very uncomfortable. If you're tall, be ready for neck strains.
Such a disappointing visit for my children today we purchased a Cosco "CHILD EXPERIENCE" will NOT do that again at this location! We purchased 4 seats & they were unable to accommodate us or even provide a seat for our children aged 4 & 7 who were SO UPSET as they thought they would go see a movie today. The management was less than understanding. This is the second issue within the last 4 months at the same theatre! Last time it even happened with RESERVED seats!!!
Nice clean theatre, very spacious. Seat service was slow; our drinks didn't come until after movie started
Clean, good popcorn and good theatre sizes. Vip is very good as well. Only issue is that the prices are worse than most other theaters I've been to.
My ears are still ringing because of the insanely loud volume. They should inspect their screens because this was crazy loud unlike any other cineplex.
Love the VIP lounge!! Best drinks, amazing food and service is wonderful! Best Cineplex VIP! The managers, Matt, and Marr have excellent customer service and go out of their way to make sure each client has a great experience! The servers, we had Nikki, are friendly and very professional. The food is great also, we weren't even going to see a movie tonight!????
This place is very nice, spacious and has lot of things to do including watching movies! The place has a VIP section, arcade and the movie experience was fantastic.
love watching movie there! the theatres are good, the place is clean. The location is so good around the theater there are food restaurants Cafe, dessert place. also bubble teas and burger place inside the theatre building. Lots of parking outdoor and underground parking. all the love the arcade⁸
For a few dollars extra, the VIP theater is worth it. No kids, no scene play, assigned seating with elbow room. Show up 20 minutes early and enjoy a drink and menu service at your seat. Or show up right on time and enjoy knowing your assigned seats are ready and waiting for you.
VIP is the way to go if you’re willing to spend the extra money. Great seating. Very clean. Service is great. Especially in VIP. The food they serve in VIP is not that great. Some meals are okay but simply put I’d recommend sticking to normal theatre food. Cheeseburger had no flavour. Caesar salad had no Caesar dressing. As it looks fancy and good when they bring it out, the taste is no where on par with the look.
Very big complex and welcoming environment. I really enjoyed the VIP experience. I didn't expect having food & drink service brought to my sear to be so much fun!
Great location with lots of great restaurant around! A lot bigger than the previous location! I love they have Chinese movies so that I could take my parents with me and make it a fun family day! For kids, the large arcade with lots of games makes them want to go early & spend time there before movies! After movies, Japanese, Taiwanese & Good Catch Seafood are always our top choice! Pretty much we can spend a whole day in the theater & the around area!
Went to see a movie with my wife, daughter and a friend with her son. The tickets were easy to buy. There were some queue to get some snacks before the beginning of the movie. The room and the washroom were nice and clean. I had no issues with the staff as well.
very nice experience. VIP is the way to go if you have room in your wallet. spacious and comfortable seating. good food brought to your seat. and alcoholic beverages. my rum coffee was great. great for dates.
Great lounge area. Staff is so courteous you want to spend the whole day there. Great drinks desserts and appetizers. I accidentally booked the very front row. Dont do that too close to the screen. Staff rebooked us on the spot and we had a great.time.
I like how clean every where is and feels very elite the service is so good thanks for the service
Get there 20 mins early. Enough time to order food and enjoy the movie. Love the black an white pictures of the actors from iconic movies outside the cinema. Brings back memories.
With great selection of restaurants and shops in the area, this place has became a usual spot for hang outs! The VIP theatre makes it a remarkable experience.
Not a fan of the food served in the VIP area. Haven't found anything I liked. Also, I ordered an apple cider and received a small cup of apple juice that was filled with mostly ice. Definitely wasted my money. Sometimes hard to find parking, especially on Friday or Saturday nights, or if a hot movie has just come out.
My wife and I see VIP movies here and love it. It’s an easy location to get to. Lots of parking. The VIP cinema is quiet and the service is great. Food and drinks are really good and seats in the theatre are very comfy. If your looking for a nice night out at the cinema look no further!
The very best cinematic experience, the VIP lounge and bar is excellent!!
VIP is great, nice wide chairs pick your own seat. Get food brought to you. The whole experience can be a bit pricey though. I hate the Chinese commercials
great theatre, suprised certain ppl complaining about covid , bruh , how this thing even start, its ridiculous how they write one star reviews to these businesses who dont even care lol. enough rambling, proper spot to watch a flick with a chick
$25 to see a movie.... puhleeesssse. For that you get the privilege of a lounge (so you can pay $10 for a beer) and a 'seat service' so you can have waitresses serve you a dinner to eat in the dark....sigh.
This is my favourite cinemas!! Large parking outdoor and indoor. Few stores and banks in the area. They got a big game area for kids. It is very clean and I’m recommended everyone to this Cinemas in Markham.
Great movie theater, VIP seats are super comfy, Mackayla got us our food and drink super fast and was amazing!
The VIP seats are very comfy and the theatre is great. Can't say the same for the washrooms though. Those need to be cleaned far more frequently.
This Cineplex is great with awesome restaurants and food around. They do not have UltraAVX and their IMAX is not the best. But the area and the look of this cineplex is just awesome. There is a lot of parking but dont expect to find space in the covered areas or close by during busy days. There is a huge empty space beside the Cineplex that is being used as a parking space.
We tried the VIP experience and it was just okay. You have a special waiting area that you can order drinks before the show which is cool and a great spot to kill time. They then let you into the theatre early and you're able to order food. The food itself isn't amazing. You're then stuck with the dishes next to you for the entire show. It was an interesting experience but I wouldn't do it again. Also very expensive.
The chairs in the VIP theatre do not fully recline like other VIP theatres. Pretty much the only reason I spent $20+ to see a movie. It's safe to say I was disappointed
Good theatre and nice VIP cinemas. The best part is that tons of parking space are available, underground too!!! A number of restaurants and shops are there now and expanding. It is designed for winter entertainment for sure ????
Awesome place, been going there for years
Alot of nice art.
Not honouring my ticket or giving me a refund: I go to this location all the time reserving minimum of 7 of my friends every time for every opening weekend movie. Something always happens. Dbox seat doesn't work for one of us..they give you a voucher no refund, Sound was not in sync in another movie, give you a voucher no refund. Now this is where I have the 1 star, I know that things happen but the number one thing that pisses me off is that you can't use vouchers on a opening weekend movie, so now I have 15 of these damn things and I can never use them. What a scam, robbery.
This is a great movie theater, the seats are comfortable and the popcorn tastes excellent. Many good stores nearby too.
Feels great to be back in theatre!!! Very clean!
Great and convenient location, with lots of restaurants nearby. Always go to this location for new movies and 3D movies. Especially enjoy the VIP experience, where we can order food and alcohol and enjoy the movie. Recently went again, but the staffs no longer helping customer ordering food and drinks with a machine. I was told I need to go out to order and pay at cashier. A little bit disappointed about the service, as they enforced for 2 years before, and now they are cutting it. 4 stars!!
I really like this theater.. It's close to my home, incredibly clean & the staff is great.. As long as the movie I want to see is playing there. Markham VIP it is!????????
clean theatre with a large concession counter, arcade zone and great VIP section. They also serve alcohol from a trolly at the main entrance, so you could drink and play games if you desire. I come here all the time and I never had a bad experience, VIP and regular movie.
This movie theatre VIP cineplex is full service 5 star experience if you have not tried VIP cineplex you got to!
Went here for vip and it was terrible. Popcorn was stale and they claimed to have scanned my scene card but didn’t. Paying extra for the better experience is a nice treat once in a while...disappointed.
Made only minimum efforts to check the theater during peak time of popular movies. There were people using cell phones many many times. Some of those customers were filiming portions of movies that disgusted us.
Poor Management...People talking through the movie in the VIP theater, nobody came and stop them. The other time we watched a Disney cartoon. I understand children are difficult to control but I never ever seen a kid screaming in the theater like that, his parents didn't stop him, and no one came in and do anything.
My favorite theatre in the city! They did the VIP experience so well here. All the staff are friendly, the seats are comfy, and they have some yummy in-seat drinks. I still go to other theatres, but if given the choice, this is where I'm headed.
Good cinema with nice seating and other aminities close by. Only disappointment was that for a regular show (non IMAX or 3D) you're not assigned seat numbers and we (family of 4) ended up seating separately, which is last thing you want in a movie
It's brand new so everything is fresh and clean. Underground parking is great, it's even heated so you can leave your coat in the car which is great in fall/winter. VIP is a nice experience and you can tell they placed a majority of their budget in this. Word of warning, their "IMAX" theatre is misleading. It's not a true IMAX experience and they're charging you full price. It's closer to UltraAVX but IMAX price (a few dollars more?). That being said, 99% of movie goers won't know the difference but I'm disappointed that IMAX doesn't regulate the use of their name. FYI the screen is smaller and the sound isn't up to spec.
Nice theater. Cool location. Busy AF. Place could get very crowded easily. Parking difficult to find. You’ll like end up parking at the lot the just extended on the East side of the property. Many little shops in and around the area to hang out before or after a movie. If you like going to the movies, this place is a must. Please be prepared to deal with lots of people.
Overall this is a very nice and huge movie theatre! The art work before going up to the movie is amazing ! If y'all get a chance park underground to see all the art work all around the parking garage I've never seen that before
Amazing theatre, especially VIP. The only downside is the food in the theatre restaurant. Its absolutely terrible! You can tell its frozen food warmed up in a microwave. Do yourself a favor and eat at Milestones downstairs.
I visited here with my friends for movie and i was truly happy with the experience i had . The Infrastructure was nice and the seats were comfortable too . The food was yummy and most likely fresh. The layout was great. You have to try this at least one time
If you bought the tickets online and you want to pick up the tickets are their location, you have to bring your credit card (which you used to buy the tickers) or the cineplex card (not just the card number, it should be the card with bar code on back). Just the Booking ID or the email with purchase receipt is not helpful. If you are unfortunate enough as myself (forgot the wallet with credit card or the cineplex card, and the movie is already on), you have to talk to their manager for suggestions and get their help ASAP. Their explanations are:to avoid internet hacking in the flaw of their online ticketing system. I gave my 2 starts to their helpful and nice manager.
VIP service is great. I knocked over my popcorn by accident and within 2 mins it was cleaned up and a new one was dropped off at my seat. Paying the bit extra for VIP is totally worth it.
This is a fantastic Cineplex. It is located in a modern centre with lots of great restaurants and snack restaurants. This location has a play area, many self-serve ticket purchase kiosks, and theatre types (regular, 3D, 3D IMAX, IMAX, VIP). The theatres are large and comfortable seats.
Great theatre. Tons of showings and updates movies. Tons of free parking outside and also underground. They have an arcade inside for you to kill time if you want. They also serve alcoholic beverages right outside! You don't even need to be in VIP to get a drink! VIP lounge is nice, airy and comfortable. Definitely my go to theatre.
Cool looking Cineplex located in a mall in Markam. Very clean, and the staff are friendly :)
This is one of my favorite places to go when I want to see the latest movie on the silver screen. I was there recently multiple times for IMAX and nothing beats the quality and service I received. I highly recommend this place and would be back again and again. Thank you Cineplex Can for this Markham VIP location!
Service is decent in the VIP area. Too bad they don't allow you to bring drinks from downstairs, didn't even see a warning about it. You would think if they serve Chatime next to the ticket booth you could bring it in.
Spacious location with a state-of-art infrastructure. A sure try for guys in markham, Richmond hill and nearby.
Always a great experience at this place, the theatres seem like they get regular cleaning and everyone is polite. There's food in the same building so you can grab something before your movie. Dinner and a date!
Went to vip. Nice vip lounge. The theatre was nice and clean. Seats were big and comfortable but only reclined so far. Menu was extensive and there were lots of people to take your order. Food was good but the ice cream was sub standard and had ice particles in it. As we left, staff said good bye and thanked us. Nice touch. Overall a nice experience.
Relatively empty place ..so that's nice. the seats or more comfortable then most places ..overall enjoyable but one of the cinema rooms I think room 6 or 3 is making a weird noise from the air vents. But other then that overall good experience.
finally old enough to enter the vip section!! the whole theatre is on the smaller side but i don't mind at all! even in just the regular sections it's very enjoyable. vip is a really fun experience and although it's nothing over the top it does make you feel a little special. the staff for vip was very accommodating towards my allergies which i am very grateful for. i definitely recommend :)
me and wife visited cineplex markham the other day. We made an order at 10:30pm, but we did not brought a physical credit card, and the waiter told us we are not able to make payment with apple pay with their pos machine. so my wife went out to the bar to pay. then we waited 40 mins, no one bring us the order. So i went out to the bar and ask them what happened, there are at least a dozen people working, and no one want to pay any attention, i catch one waiter, show him the receipt and ask him whats going on? he asked another staff, the staff asked another, no one know what are they doing, no one apologized. no one gave me any respond. I'm very upset. so i asked who is the manager, finally, someone show up, the "manager" is not able to engage an eye contact, an apologize, or even a straight answer. completely lack of interested to help. i said, i would like to make an official complain, he only said i can tell him about it. no apology. i asked is this your customer service, not even an apology. he is like "i apologized". thats it. no other words, completely not sorry at all. he had this attitude, like "what do u want me to do?" he brought me the order 5 mins later. based on the staff's attitude and work ethic, we did not drink it at all. I don't think cineplex would consider this is customer service. is this the service standard. ? I made complain with an email to cineplex customer service, again they simply say will give me a refund which I have not received at all. So this is how they treat their VIP. Never going back. By the way, their food taste bad. So bad!
Great place with a Milestones on the ground floor for food and drinks before or after the movie. Having the Good Life Fitness there is great convenience for those rushed days when you're trying to get a workout in after work but do it in time for your date.
I'm very disappointed with customer service here. I don't expect a lot from a theatre but I had a bad experience with one of the staff. Lack of respect and consideration for customers.
Place is good for now. I can see this place going crazy busy. It's a little confusing to get around as is. After the development, and the big stores, like Walmart, coming in, this place will go haywire. Entrances are lacking directions how to get to Cineplex.
I like coming here for movies since it’s clean and well kept. The seats are spacious and comfortable, and there’s enough washroom stalls for days! I also like how they have Chinese movies at this location.
Great place to catch a movie in downtown markham I like to have the option to park below grade but depending on the time of day it's some time hard to find a spot. It has a little arcade area for the kids and adults too. Definitely my go to theater
Seats were not full recliner nor comfortable
For a newly built location, this feels like a building designed by a modern artist, rather than an architect or an interior designer. Layout is confusing and the plaza has barely enough parking for all the shops. Quite frankly the old location, on Hwy 7 and Woodbine was way better designed, and had sufficient parking.
Love this theatre. Seats are comfy, food is good. Lotta stores around in case you get there early. Parking isn't the best cuz you're competing against Goodlife peeps.
We got to the movie about 15 min early the pre show was about 10 min of ads, then two trailers and then more ads. I understand the need for ads but they are so loud and in your face and just feel very cheap when I spent 25 dollars per person on a ticket.
Clean theatre, efficient staff, food was good. The seats are comfy and roomy, but the tables are a bit of a joke. The seats with leg rests are definitely a major bonus. Very good movie going experience, but definitely not the best dinner/ movie combo that I've experienced.
Nice and clean. Super happy to have done a group screening of a movie!
This is what movie going should be. The place is always spotless, and the building is full of art, including the underground garage. Lots of food options and games for kids young and old. Just wish the VIP bar was open to anyone who wants a drink, seems like they are missing out on a lot of potential business.
Love the newer location (previously on Hwy 7) but it's a bit confusing if you don't see the back entrance or the turn in from Enterprise Rd. Theatre itself looks brand new with tons of food, bars, or activities for friends to hangout in the area. A bit on the pricier side but your paying for the experience I guess. I'll go again with another group of friends!
Great service, good Sundays. Nice figurines inside. Finally decent selection of movies. Staff were polite and willing to help unlike Pickering :)
Made a reservation online for VIP 6:30. There was so much traffic on the 401 which made us late 30minute to our show. Box office staff made it extremely easy to refund my previous ticket and bought the 7:30 IMAX 3D instead. He asked for permission on his headset which got approved within seconds. Great staff and very clean theatre. Been going to this place and will continue watching here.
VIP experience is fantastic... If a little pricy. It is pretty much what you expect, but the seats are very comfy if it was a little less expensive overall I'd give it 5.
It's located at the new center of Markham. VIP experience is a must try. Plus IMAX screen is here also, a little smaller than Colossus though. It also plays popular Chinese movies. Many choices of food and very tasty.
Terrible customer service and management. I purchased two movie tickets online (one of which is redeemed from free admission code) 3 days before movie show time, but the movie was canceled somehow and fortunately I learned it from one of my friend. However, I didn't receive any notification from Cineplex Markham regarding the cancellation. When I called box office to ask for a refund, I was told that I have to physically be at the box office before the movie's scheduled showtime to get refunded. I live in Hamilton, and I do not think it is reasonable for me to drive 3 hours round-trip to Markham just to get refund on my ticket for a cancelled movie . Finally, I have to call Cineplex's general customer service number to get this issue resolved. Cineplex Markham is a relatively new theater with great facilities, but their management and customer service is not at the same level of the theater itself.
VIP cinemas are great. Good menu in the lounge and in theatre. Service is attentive and efficient. A bit overpriced but hey, you are in a comfy leather recliner and people are bringing you food and drink while you watch a movie!
Watched Tenet in IMAX. It's an awesome experience
The parking can be a headache sometimes when it gets busy. Experience was good, but at $25 a seat for VIP is kinda steep. The food is okay, nothing special.
Yall made my first time there horrible, if it wasn't for my love of bad boys I would've asked for my money back and left. For a VIP the customer service I got was trash !!!! And I wont ever be going back there. Thanks for nothing... but thank you "bad boys" for a amazing movie!!
The seats in this theater is a lot more cramped than the SilverCity Richmond Hill that I normally go to. I'm 6'1 and there was a lot less legroom then I was used to. They also don't have the self-serve coke pop machines that can mix flavours.
Access: It has the worst access points lol. If you are traveling north from Birchmount, you are 'safe' as all you need to do is turn right. If you are traveling west on Enterprise, you better start praying because turning left is impossible. One time I got honked for waiting in line to turn left, you must be kidding me. Alternatively, you can turn left onto Birchmount but then you might never get to turn left again. Parking: Access sucks, parking will make you cry. The biggest tip is to carpool if you come on a Tuesday. Seriously. I don't know why they have such a big parking lot for employees when half the time it's empty. The people who built this place didn't think too far in advance. Honestly the cinema is pretty good, but if it takes me so long to turn left and find a parking spot, I might as well go elsewhere. On the bright side, it is in Markham, and things are still clean =)
Nice and clean. They really seemed to put a lot of effort in keeping the place sanitized and safe during these special times.
Crowded but much nicer than the old theater. Finding parking is always challenging. So be prepared to walk a bit. Lots of bubble tea options right downstairs from the theater and an aroma cafe around the corner
New theatre with very tasty bubble tea! Seems to be a hot spot for the Asian population. Located in a complex with many other food and entertainment venues. We were here to watch a Chinese movie, which was not played at any other theatre in the surrounding area. Generally great experience.
I give this theatre a 4 and not a 5 only because...and like all theatres unless you book VIP seats....the chairs are just to small and make you feel like your being squashed. Other then this it's very clean and new! Not overly crowded on a busy day either which is nice.
Nice large VIP section. Food is good quality bar food delivered to your seat with drinks. Cozy. The arcade is good and it's very new, plus underground parking.
Absolutely awesome place much better than the old Markham theatre. Amazing layout, decent food (obviously overpriced but it's a movie theatre), and plenty of amazing viewing experiences. VIP option is a nice addition.
Went to see a movie on opening night- xmas day First time at the threatee The flickering light of the projector in theatre 3 was annoying in the preshow and throughout the whole movie. (I guess their technicians don't check before a movie) Light also came up before the credits came up. Spoke to a woman in a "jacket". She said timing of rhe lights was what the studio gave them. All in all - not a lot of attention to detail in their threatre. I could have watched it at home for better quality and showcasing
This is my favourite theater. I have one closer to home but I rather take the 15 minute drive to this location. The atmosphere is welcoming. Good food options around the theater as well. And they have IMAX 3D which I love. On nice summer nights it's nice to sit outside after the movie and enjoy a dessert or a bubble tea in the seating area in front. Good family location too
No snacks in the theatre? You serious bro? Where’s the Gaba gooool
Great place to watch movies. VIP experiance is amazing. You can bring any drink into any theater which is awesome if you're not up to paying the price of VIP.
Always smells so good, and the popcorn is fresh! Staff is nice , and funny to even commented on my spiderman tattoos thought they were cool!
We went to see the Spider-Man movie and the theater was very clean and nice. They also have a small arcade section, which I differently recommend play.
Great VIP theater, very nice luxurious environment with superb restaurants. This is the 1st VIP cinema I watched few years ago, since then we have been watching new movies here. We can order food or drinks as well! Good waitress, friendly service. Bit expensive but worth a try. ????
Recommend going to the VIP theater on a Wednesday for the hump date deal :)
Great choice for movie viewing, especially if you are an Imax fan. Get there at least a half hour before your movie, as parking is often at capacity, and you will need to circle a few times during busy times. Print your ticket or bring them on your phone to avoid having to go to the machines.
Favorite Cineplex so far - the people that come here are usually well mannered and confrontational, unlike the Fairview location, which has a lot of teenagers who often have little disregard for others; since it's near the George Vanier SS area.
Nice theatre with VIP, IMAX, DBOX and regular seats, lots of free parking (though can still get packed) including surface and underground. Some good food choices nearby if you don't want to eat from the pricey concessions.
Everything about this theater is amazing. Markham and Cineplex did good with this location, it is huge and looks amazing. However, this is one of the only theaters that looks so qhite and bright inside as opposed to dark. One thing that sucks is the parking, especially on a Tuesday night it is impossible to find decent parking. Other than that I love this theater.
The VIP is the way to go. Always a great experience to see a movie, to be able to reserve seats is awesome. Need some Gluten Free menu items for people with Celiac as this is the only setback . Also facility security need to lighten up a bit, had some extremely rude responses when asking questions, been in the security business for three decades and have never seen such unfriendly and unapproachable officers in my life.
This place is great and I'm writing this review about both the VIP theatre and the regular admission theatre. The VIP experience is great, pick your own seats and order food/drinks brought to you. The regular theatre is good as well, properly cleaned. The theatre is in a great central location close to the 407 and there are many places to go eat if youre looking for food before or after the movie. Some places are quite affordable as well such as the subway or south St. Burger. Overall great experience because of the theatre and the lively location. If you come here on weekends or Tuesday nights beware that the parking is really big but gets full fast.
Great service at their VIP screening. We watched Dunkirk and I left my glasses at home. When I asked if we could switch our seats they gave us the best options for the situation. I appreciate the flexibility to fix an issue as such. The saff was great for this. Wished the calamari we got was bigger though.
This is my go to cinema in the area. Has both IMAX experience and VIP with VIP Lounge. Also has a play area with arcade games. Lots of parking outside and a lot of adjacent restaurants to eat and hang out before or after. Overall the theatres are clean and the overall experience is positive. Staff are generally friendly and attentive.
Good location for a theatre. There's some options for food before your movie starts. Seats were good. However some movies are full as expected.
The worst experience I had ever in my whole life. At the last battle (you know how important timing this is) the screen suddenly blacked out for 5 mins. After the film resumed, the lights were still on and kept on till the end. No explanation, no apology, no compensation.
Horrible service: There was only 1 person to serve the entire Sunday afternoon crowd. The staff did not get out of my way (handicapped with crutches at the moment) or even try to move. I didn't much like many of the other clients/ for the same reason of not at least trying to move. Floor and lot planning: The physical layout of the theater is also not great as you can't really get to there from here sort of idea. The parking lot is wide and short, and won't have enough space for everyone when it gets busier/during the PanAm games. There is a road in between the center of the buildings that you can't really drive down if you come from the opposite way. In any case, I will not be returning, at the very least until I am out of crutches, and probably not even after that.
Really clean. Everything looks fine. The cashiers are fast but patient. Sometimes finding parking spot is hard but it is okay. They have Imax and d-box and all other good things.
Was hard to find the entrance, and had to figure out it was on the second floor. And they have the unupdated seats. But they followed all procedures and they clean well. And the lineups are well organized at the concession. They also have movies playing that aren't offered everywhere else
Always clean and staff is always friendly. Parking can be difficult to find on most days, but I’ve come to expect it. The VIP cinema is totally worth going to on a Tuesday - food is great and seats are comfortable.
Friendly service and maintained the place very clean and tidy. Nice popcorn too.
Overall, great experience watching movies here. Seats are comfortable and movie halls are pretty clean. There are many self-service kiosks downstairs so you can buy your tickets. There are a couple restaurants in the same building to grab a quick bite to eat before/after the movie.
It's a good theatre however when its crowded the people are rude and facility seems overcrowded. Parking is a mess with limited spots and again rude drivers.
Parking lot is pretty good in terms of spots available. The staff are friendly. The size of the screens is good and the seats are comfortable. The volume is not too loud (which is much better for the ears). As with most cineplex theatres, the price of the food is on the pricey side. The arcade has a good amount of games and prizes.
Great movie theater, with a very convenient location. There are many things that I love about this location. Their seats are comfortable, I mean really comfortable. They have these tables where they'll serve you drinks, popcorn, and other food essentials. There is a lot of restaurants located conveniently around the theater. Finally. theater is clean and well maintained.
Please keep at least 1 seat empty between each other. Like why you need to pack a movie theater like this during covid
Once you go to the VIP theatre you will never want to go to any other. The seats are large, comfortable and recline. There are a good number of wait staff that are ready to take your food and drink order. I recommend getting to the theatre early. You can have food in the VIP lounge or in your reserved seats. There is even a small tray that moves across your lap to make eating easier. An added bonus is that it is a adult only theatre - no one under 19. I have seen movies in their IMAX as well, and those are also big, reserve seats and the screen is huge! We recently moved out of Markham, and I still go back to watch all my movies there.
Good seats and hospitable service. Nice theatre. The kiosk to buy tickets seems very unorganized however and separated from the actual theatre. The VIP seats are extremely comfortable.
This is a very good movie theater with complete other supporting facilities. I often come here to watch Chinese movies. well
I love seeing movies at the VIP theatre at this location. We reserve seats, so there's no guesswork to getting a good seat. The neighborhood has some good restaurants for dinner. VIP is a separate section of the theatre. The washrooms a really nice with a good amount of space and full-length door. Seats are comfy and large. Sometimes we get a glass of wine or cup of coffee to drink during the move. I like that only 19+ can use the VIP theatres, and can avoid fidgety kids. Reduced 1 star, because this theatre has both VIP and regular screens. I have to be careful which movies to see here.
Cineplex Markham has a VIP Section where you can enjoy dinner and watch movie at the same time. A great place to bring your wife for a night out.
Not bad, but their seats do not recline.
pretty good movie cinemas but not too happy they made changes to the scene points system. You used to be able to get some popcorn and a drink with scene points. Now the scene points are used as a partial discount. What a waste.
I thought it was a fine VIP theater experience. All the servers were really surprisingly friendly. At other VIP locations, I found I would have e to flag someone down to order something. Over here they came by to introduce themselves, ask if we have ever been to the VIP theaters, and ask if we wanted to order anything. The screen itself was decent. I watched Rogue One if that makes a difference. I will focus the review on the theater itself though and not the movie. I also didn't notice any neighbouring theater noises like I often do at other locations.
It's a hot spot! But some of the staff are rude. And a few are super amazing. I think it's quite rude when some staff tell you to fill up their cup of water by yourself at the water fountain in front of the washrooms. That's bad customer service. Never have I ever been told to do that at any other Cineplex. It sounds lazy and disrespectful. It is not consistent though as other staff will happily fill their cup from their tap. More so when the theatre first opened there were sound issues and still from time to time problems with the projection of he movie. The ticket booth service is so-so. Some staff there can be quite rude as well (impatient and snappy). The VIP area has a tiny bit better service, but the washrooms could be cleaner to improve the VIP experience. Food is a little overpriced. It's a good location and the decor is nice. I hope the customer service can improve and attract more movie patrons.
The VIP chairs don't recline, they are understaffed, no toilet paper in dirty washrooms. The air conditioning fan is louder than the movie in cinema 3 if you could imagine that!!!! Couldn't find one staff member in the whole place after movie to voice cincerns! Won't be going back to this theatre. Grrrrrr
Clean and comfortable. Tried Imax for the first time. Nice arcade, kids loved it. Lots of food and restaurants around. Parking is sometimes tough to get but that's because there is so much to do.
Very impressive, massive and slick, although both times I have watched movies here I couldn't help noticing how few people there were. Maybe it was the time of day, or maybe this theatre complex in the middle of the new city centre for Markham was built before the people have moved in yet.
This location is extremely clean! We picked our seats prior to entering and it was perfect. You wouldn't be disappointed going to see a movie here.
I like that they staff was diligent in checking to see if you are vaccinated they were polite and friendly the theater was clean.
Need more VIP Show variety. Upgrade the seats with full recliner like othe theatres or lower the price to reflect inferior seats.
Lost my wallet there and they still had it 2 days later. 5 ⭐!
Fancy location, nice and clean theater, but the parking is nuts! Always busy because of the condos and stores so it's really difficult to find parking. Other than that it's a nice place
Wouldn't do the movies any other way than VIP. Parking can be a task, especially if going for the underground. Great variety of restaurants nearby and theatre staff is friendly.
I usually come here for the VIP section and all the staff are accommodating and friendly and the place is always clean and tidy, both outside and in the theatre. The regular theatres are also nice.
Great VIP Theatre. However, parking is quite horrendous/difficult to find because of how busy it is. Even though you have reserved seating, get there early if you’re driving as you might be waiting a while.
Clean place, A little too populated especially exiting the theatres
This is the way to watch a movie. The price is a bit steep but there are specials for two including dinner which makes a nice evening out. The only thing that was a bit annoying was that the theatre next door was vibrating the one that we were in, they need to fix this.
Great large theatre centralized in the downtown Markham location. surrounded by restaurants and goodlife fitness. it hosts the VIP seating with food and drinks catered to your seats along with a mini arcade to pass the time. there is a vip lounge area for vip ticket holders. service is great and place is well kept. staff there are amazing too.
Clean and has a good selection of movies. They even have some of the "indie" films that aren't in all threatres like Weather with You
Love how clean this theatre is
This is our favorite theater. It's a mission to get upstairs to it but so worth it in the end very large and spacious. We might try the vil thing next time we go
Annual kids Christmas movie. Love this location, have the best luck with the arcade winning points with my kids and the prizes are much much better than other arcades. 5 stars!
have some foreign movies if that's your cup'o tea
Best Cineplex experience I've had so far. The regular theatres are already nice, and the VIP area is even nicer. When I have Scene points to use, this is the theatre I like to spend them at. The stores located on the ground floor of the complex are convenient for a place to go after a movie as well.
Comfortable seats and ok service, seats are bit noisy in the adjustment specially when the movie is halfway through and it's dead silent. Overall it was a great experience.
Reserved seating was pointless as people don't sit in their assigned seats. The theatre's volume was absurdly loud. The movie we watched was great though.
Lot of good restaurants around and plenty of parkings. We had dinner in the vip lounge, selection is limited but food is okay. Atmosphere and view are good.
The only theatre i would choose since its opening. It has a pretty decent arcade to kill time with friends or your date. The VIP theatre is spacious and comfortable with large la z boy chairs and counters for food or drinks. Service till movie starts at your seat. Restaurants everywhere. This place is no joke. If anyone knows a better all around experience please let me know.
Cool looking theatre accessible through a parking structure. But since its cineplex, please be aware that everything is waaaaay overpriced. A bottle of pop in the vending machines are 5 dollars lol. No thanks.
Clean and nice location, comfortable seats and VIP
A good place for some family fun or a get-together with friends. This place is fun with its mini casino which holds plenty of fun for kids and the kid-at-heart. The theaters are well-kept and also have VIP areas. Located right inside and around are various eateries for those who are hungry and have a sweet tooth. Parking outside is limited, but the place has ample underground parking for normal and people with special requirements.
The VIP was exciting. And fun A little Pricy for the Movie The Food prices were good. The regular theatres are clean and I use there Closed Captioning Devices as I’m Hard of hearing and they always have some.
This location is in such a nice, central, location. There is underground parking and that is a big plus. The place is clean and service is awesome. I really enjoy the arcade here as there is always something for a 27 year old like me to play and have fun with. Before and after your movie there are also quite a few things to eat or drink in the area as well.
I always go to the VIP cuz I can get quite drunk and the waitress was cute
Food service was a tad slow. Wish they would allow entry into the assigned seats 30+ minutes earlier to settle in, order food, and eat before movie starts. By the time we got seated and finally waved a staff member down to take our order, it took another 15 minutes for the food and drinks to arrive. Staff should carry extra utensils and napkins on their person. Some staff members provided better, professional service than others.
Loved the VIP experience! Bathrooms were individual rooms with own sink, chairs were very comfortable, service was fantastic both in lounge and at our seats
Have seen a number of movies here and each time I seem to get various ranges of service. It seems as though many of the workers who manage the ticket stations don't really want to be able to help. I felt quite stupid as I asked questions and their response further made it seem like I should already understand how their system works. Have yet to try concessions but I do want to try it next time. I am usually a fan of movie theater popcorn.
Customer service was great in the VIP section, only issue was that the seats don't recline
Love the VIP experience, but need more washrooms. Snack options limited at VIP concession stand. Get your popcorn I'm the main area. Bags are bigger, closable plus the toppings aren't available inside VIP lounge.
Relatively new location still undergoing a lot of construction. Lots of food places in the same building, and being new, the theatre is quite good (although the IMAX here is disappointing, the one in Vaughan vastly superior). Has a few Chinese movies all the time.
A different and fun experience. Maybe it was my seating angle but sometimes it seemed like the picture quality wasn't that great on the screen. Chairs did recline. Price was a bit hefty though
Large entertaiment destination with various movie package experiences in the new Downtown Markham. Also has video games and carnival type games to win prizes. Free surface parking.
I enjoy coming to this Cineplex! It's very clean and tidy. The V.I.P experience is amazing with great food and drink options.
After covld 19. This is my first time to watch movie. I first time choose D-box seat, i pay that money to enjoy my show,"D-box" but i could not feeling How "D-box" mean. The chair don't moveing. After that i talk to manager, manager told me," that is YOUR PROBLEM!! Cause you don't know How TO USE!! " THAT IS HOW "cineplex" MANAGER treat customer???
VIP is the only appropriate way for an adult to watch movies at the theatre.
Great place, just the washrooms for VIP area are not enough. You will need to most likely go out to the other ones in the other theater side as there will be a line at the end of the movie. Cheers
I was there to watch a film with a relative from out of town. Caught a late show, parked underground which is something I absolutely love about this place during the winter months.. And proceeded to watch our film. Service was good, everyone that works there is courteous... Unlike some VIP locations that are jammed with young employees that do not understand the meaning of hard work or being efficient. The following day, was heading out with my relative and realized that he had misplaced his wallet. Ended up figuring out after calling Markham VIP Theatres and speaking to one of the managers that was in fact located and on hold for us there. Was able to recover it.. And found out that one of the cleaners had found it! And might I add that everything was in the wallet! ID.. Money and all! That had most definitely impressed me and really renewed my faith in a city that is growing by the second! Had it not been for this completely above and beyond service and integrity, my relative who just literally landed 3 hours before the film would have had a troublesome 2 week trip with us! So thank you so very much for your kindness, and values to make this one heck of an impression to give another person from another country!! And yet another reason why I enjoy coming to this specific theatre so much! My hats off to all of you that are employed at this location!!
Place needs to be clean. The seats in VIP were not clean. The kids that work there are in their own world. The management needs to pay more attention for the quality of service they provide.
Pretty big place, their arcade is the sickest one of all the movie theatres I've seen. It's really new and has a few fast food places and restaraunts within the building in case you want to grab dinner or grab some bubble tea after a movie! Really great place to bring a large friend group, you'll have the most fun this way.
Nicest Cineplex I have been to! This Cineplex is bright and modern and is located next to a couple of restaurants and shops with loads of parking. The auditorium was different from other Cineplex locations as the projector was in the middle and not at the back behind all of the audience.
It's a very upscale place to hang out. The VIP section looked nice. Just wished I spent more time in there before the movie.
Always found this place clean with comfy chairs. The VIP area great for lounging prior to the movie but also found food good in the VIP with quick service. Also liked having variety of food outside the theater as well.
Tried VIP, never set food in a regular theater again. Great service, good bar (a touch slow on the service to tables) but overall makes you feel special and comfortable.
The Cineplex Cinemas Markham & VIP has a VIP section, as well as normal theatres. I've only ever gone into the VIP section of this theatre. The food is expensive and portion sizes are small, but the fact that you get them delivered to your seat is a definite positive. Seating in the VIP section is expensive, but comfortable. It provides the luxury of watching a movie at home, but the experience of a theatre. Note: You can only order food & drinks before the start of the movie. You cannot place any orders during or after the movie.
location used to be very convenient, thanks to whoever decided that viva purple should only come every half an hour I have not been to this theatre in months. the service is always good, that I would definitely say, fairly limited selection of films though
They used to block rows in front & behind. Not anymore. People switches to blocked seats & theatre staff does not check. Not safe anymore.
Great experiences with lots of Mandarin/Chinese movies. VIP cinemas are a great plus, be sure to upgrade since the sofa, the services, the screen and sound system are better!
Lay down comfortably and enjoy your cold beer
VIP experience is a must try if you haven't tried it yet.
Parking is hard to find.. The underground parking is poorly designed and doesn't have enough stalls. VIP and IMAX is good. One of the newer theatres with the new seats.
We've been coming here every so often and it's a great break from the packed and busy "normal" theatres, albeit the price is definitely much more, but you get a much larger and better drink and food menu. Great for date nights and more mature experience. I give them 8/10!
Good seats and big enough screen. Food is okay
Great theatre. So clean and large. I love the VIP seating and the food areas. The restaurants around are pretty good too.
I went to this VIP Cineplex few times. It’s convient for me because it’s literally 2 minutes from my places and I do really enjoy VIP cineplex but When it comes to order food in this location ... you have to be patient ! (2 mistakes in my order). If it wasn’t for that I did really enjoy this place staffs are nice and friendly !
Theatre is still in new condition. Video games were modern and paid out some good tickets for average prizes. Always ample parking and a few food options are right outside the theater. Clean washrooms, good sound quality. IMAX theater was amazing!
It has been a very long time since I have been to a complex and unfortunately I was very disappointed by my movie experience. I watched ready player 1 in theatre 9 and the screen had this massive grainy spot. I was so distracted by it the whole movie. I chose to go to the theatre to watch this film because I knew it would be more enjoyable on a big screen and theatre sound system as it was an action/sci-fi movie. I paid to watch this at higher resolutions/formatting, I was bummed that this grainy spot ruined the centre of the screen. I would've been better off watching this in 720p online, it was that distracting. Because of the grainy spot, the movie looked dated. My eyes were so tired by the end of the movie because it kept focusing on the spot. When an employee was notified about this, they simply said there was nothing they could do about it. I am honestly so disappointed because this theatre is in a very nice location, the popcorn is generally fresh because it's so busy, and the theatre is relatively clean. Unfortunately, if I have to pay so much for tickets and popcorn, I expect the visuals to be better than my home entertainment system.
This is not a legit IMAX location! Beware!
Have no problem with Cineplex Theaters, always enjoy movies on AVX. I was never a big time collector for points. But it was always good to know that Cineplex is not all about making money but have extra incentive for youngster & students who are big time movie goers and they can watch movies for free after collecting 1000 points. So much that they can also use same points for VIP theaters (which normally they can never spend for a movie). Since they announced that they are discriminating with points system and now you have to collect 1000 points for regular, 1500 for AVX and 2000 for VIP people have been discouraged a lot. Of course as of now you guys are almost having monopoly and movie fans almost have no choice... but let me say this because Cineplex is focusing more on how to make more profit and making people with less income to spend more money to enjoy free movie, lots of people I know and for sure at least 14 - 18 people in my circle haven't been to Cineplex (since last December). Not because that we need more points... it is because Cineplex Image and Reputation is changed (in our mind set). I hope some one on the top brass of your company will look into it and give it a second thought. My only suggestion (or shall I say my 10 cents) is to please reconsider your approach (towards youngsters), you have done amazing so far - don't waste it
I went to vip and it was a pretty cool experience, it was my first time and I’d definitely go back. We ordered food from our seats, the service was great and the food was tasty. This can add up expense wise so it’s not something I’d regularly. Just for movies I am very excited for. There’s a lounge that you can enter, you can go into your theatre 30 minutes prior to showtime and I suggest that’s when you enter. They stop taking food orders when the movie starts.
My favourite theatre. It's always clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. I love that I can order my food on the Cineplex app now, it saves having to wait for the server to come to you - which is a great thing, it means they take their time with the guests they're serving and I appreciate that. Keep up the great work!
VIP seats ok. Would be better if they reclined. Not sure its worth 25 bucks a ticket though. With food and drink looking at over 50 bucks a person for a movie
The theater is nice very comfortable. The staff is very nice to us always. The only bad thing is that the plaza never has enough parking.
New, Clean and not many people. The VIP is awesome! you order food, drinks and alcohol to your seats, its $25 per ticket plus food for very reasonable prices.
The cinema and the theater areas are always neat and clean, plus it's located inside building with underground parking with 24hrs security on site, so you don't have to worry about your car while you're enjoying the food in a restaurant and or the movie... weather it's rain or shine or snow, it's a one-stop convenient place for entertainment.
I came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon, and just from the outside I was so impressed with this new Markham complex. As soon as I pulled in, the parking lot was a bit tight, but manageable. Once inside the complex, I was amazed at how nice and new the inside was. As soon as you walk in, there is a Chatime, South Street Burger, Thai Express, Subway and Me Va Me Kitchen Express all attached on the inside. It kind of gave the illusion that you could order food from these restaurants and take it into the theatre. Especially because the ticket counter was amongst all these restaurants. After paying at the kiosk, we made out way upstairs to the theatre. The upstairs was fairly big, clean and easy to find your way. I was honestly a little disappointed in the IMAX experience, I truly didn't feel that it was significantly superior to the regular movie experience. I was expecting a larger, curved screen for what I paying. I will say, that the sound quality was great, and the surround sound experience was pretty amazing. But other than that, I feel a bit disappointed paying $20 for a movie in this theatre. Overall, it was definitely still a great experience, and I would definitely return, but maybe not for the IMAX.
It's a nice movie theater including recliner seats. I went VIP. During Covid restrictions, HOWEVER, we weren't allowed to have food inside the theaters. We had to have concessions outside the theater.
Love the animal sculptures in the building, and the full windowed wall at the movie entrance. Kids loved the arcade (ok, me too). The theater themselves was nice - still new and not nasty like many others after years of abuse. Staff was friendly - no "I can't believe I'm here on a Saturday morning, when will it end??" attitudes at all. Nice mix of trendy restaurants just steps away, but best of all... the Pride of Canada Carousel is just across the corner!
If you go for date night special it's the best time to go otherwise going for general admission to the VIP is expensive Tuesday's also a good choice theater is very nice clean screens are large and impressive
Showtimes are available for online ticket purchase starting Wednesday mornings for the upcoming week (Fri – Thurs). Theatre Box Office opens approximately 30 minutes before the first advertised performance and will close approximately 15 minutes after the last advertised performance
It's a movie theatre, the big chain kind, so pretty much like every other one you've been to. Except the standard seats seem to be made of a different material and are more comfortable than what you typically find in these places. Been 3 times or so, no complaints. Check out the South Street Burger joint in there as well, great food.
Staff was friendly. The seats were comfortable, and it also has the D-box option. Food was expensive, so I ate at the subway downstairs. Good place, will go agian
I've been here for a few IMAX 3D showings and I am happy and enjoyed watching here... Food is good and.games and fun for family. One of the better Cineplex theatres I've been too in a long time.. An enjoyable experience
Great VIP movie experience. Comfy seats and good customer service. They offer a few good vegan options for snacks and now they serve Almonde from Baileys! So good with coffee. I hope more vegan options come in the future. Great experience, our favorite VIP movie spot.
the imax is great, all really organized and clean, good popcorn, easy check in, good washrooms. recently went to watch spider-man and people weren’t allowed to eat popcorn in theatres so keep that in mind.
Not much to say other than this spot is exactly what a big box theatre should be! It's well run and we've never had any issues with finding seats as long as we booked online or showed up early!
Loved the VIP seats. Loved the staff. Hated the food. Ordered the fish and chips. The chips were not cooked enough and the fish was dry. Didn't mind paying the money before the food arrived; regretted it afterward. Worst food ever.
My wife and I were here for dinner and Rogue One. The layout and atmosphere was very luxurious and great! Dinner was similar to Kelsey's type fare (we had hamburger and tandoori chicken on flatbread). The theater chairs were very luxurious. You could have dinner in the restaurant or in the theater; the seats are prebooked so there's no issue of rushing to get your seats. The price of dinner is average to eating outside of Cineplex but the ticket prices are double. Overall a very good (not cheap) couples night out.
Tried VIP for the first time and it was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed the movie in the comforts of a cozy chair. Only downside is the cost, but overall great place to visit!
The movie theatre is quite new and spacious. The Cineplex staff is friendly. However, the movie theatre is usually quite popular, so make sure you get your seats at least half an hour ahead of time. For some new to fairly new releases, more than half an hour is needed to find non-front row seats.
I like Markham VIP. It is a great movie theater very clean.
Theatre is great! Minus one star for not enough parking spots if you come at a busy time. The building gets quite busy with all the restaurants. The underground parking spots seem oversized and a lot of space is wasted, could've fit more spots.
Great location, Arcade is great and VIP section is done really nicely. Parking is underground and easy to find and access
VIP theatres available. Great seats! Greta selection of movies! Some foreign films available too! Big arcade with prizes for the kids. This place even serves alcohol for the adults! Very clean place. Downtown Markham is very nice.
I like this place because it's still new. I hope they keep up with the maintenance and not let things fall to the way side. The screens are nice and big. The seats are still comfortable. The only knock I have with this place is that it's not a 'real' IMAX. But that's more on IMAX diluting their brand.
I had been here for the Hillsong Church service. Great location and easy to find. Sound system is very good and seating is also good.
Very clean and organized! State of the art facilities. Great movie experience. Close to good eateries!
Great staff. Always greeted on arrival into the VIP section, lounge is nice, and they offer a balcony seating. In addition food and drink selection is quite good for a movie theater.
Yongshan is a very helpful manager
Nice, modern and spacious Cineplex! ! Love the VIP section! The ticket counter line up is slow sometimes. But service is friendly. Will definitely go back.
Pretty nice place for a cinema, I haven't experienced the VIP yet, but it looks great, there's a Cha Time and some restaurants, an arcade game zone and two parking options: outside and underground!
This Cineplex is the nicest in the GTA. We really enjoy going here for movie nights. What is also great is the Chatime at the base of the theatre. It's really nice getting a good bubble tea drink before or after the movies. It can get very busy so we usually book in advance.
The ticketing process was confusing. There were 2 lines, one for regular ticket and one for VIP. After lining up at the regular one for few minutes, was told by the regular ticket cashier there was only one line which is the the VIP one. So myself and the dozen people behind me got to go to the back of the VIP line. The staffs had no intention to put up a sign or close the line to proactively informing the customer until they reach the cashier.
This place is very clean and big. The service is very bad except for one of the cashiers who was smiling all the time. Especially, I disliked how the Xscape cashier was very unwilling to help. He stared my friends and I down like we were doing something very wrong when we were very good at the basketball game. Finally, the prices at that place is overly priced and half the games were not functioning.
Loved the VIP movie experience!
It's a Cineplex. They start the film 20 minutes after advertised so they can play more ads. This behaviour is inexcusable. Also VIP is a scam. I've been to theatres who provide the same level of service (at less cost) with out charging a 25$ entrance fee. (Looking at you Violet Crown... Stay classy)
First movie-going experience since the lockdowns had started. Good food and staff. VIP is definitely comfortable. Love that we can have dinner and a movie, and the service is great. I just always hate the prices of concessions. The popcorn combos are with the membership thing Cineplex is doing. If I didn't have scene points, I wouldn't be able to keep going to the theatres regularly though I wish I could support this place more. If you can afford it, this is a great location!
I venture uptown with a bunch of friends to finally check out this place, it was worth it! Had a pleasant experience walking around downtown Markham. It's shaping up to be a beautiful place. York U. is building not too far from this spot. Looking forward to see how this place shapes up in a few years time.
The movie experience was great. The seats are very comfortable and you get a lot of space. My issue was the food. Payed $50 for an appetizer and 2 mains. The guacamole tasted like it came from a bag, no seasoning at all and the chips were very stale. The burger along with the fries were almost cold, not even warm, didnt even taste good. Finally, the santa fe bowl was very bland as well, and the portion was tiny. Overall, I wouldn't pay to eat there ever again other than just popcorn, because i dount you can mess that up.
They had a technical issue, the 3D was not working (showing blue and red). When I informed their employees they would not believe me, not until a few more other people complained. In the end they sent people fixed the issue, but I missed 20 min in the beginning, ruined the movie.
I went to the VIP with my girlfriend on Valentine's. Have to say I definitely felt important! Seats were very comfortable, service right to your seat with any food or drink on the menu. It literally felt like I was in a restaurant watching a movie on a big screen. Prices were modest and food was great! Definitely recommend for a couple going on a date!
The experience in the movie theater was cool and chill. Pretty clean and all. The arcade section was also fun and cool. They had alot of cool prizes you could win.
Great service and atmosphere aside, what makes this location stand out are the other surrounding establishments. Many options for you to choose from pre and post movie experience. Very new and upscale design. One of my favorite hang outs.
We paid extra for IMAX to have a great viewing and sound experience. Unfortunately, the average sound level was unpleasantly high. An audiologist tested my hearing and said that I had an unusually high threshold for loud sound, so when I say it was too loud, I mean it. The youngest member of our group said it was so loud it caused her pain. The sound level was not just high; the sound appeared to be compressed in a way that limited the dynamic range so that almost all loud sounds were at maximum. This also made it appear as if there was too much mid-range in the loud sounds which reduced the apparent level of the low frequency sounds (common in modern compression to make music seem louder). This also has the effect of making the low sounds seem less powerful. Powerful low frequency sounds usually make Science Fiction more exciting as you feel a large Machinery or device is flying near you. However, with this low frequency compression it did not sound powerful at all. The theater said that they did not have a control over the volume level and it was the people that set up the movie. It appears likely to me that the sounds compression is an artifact introduced in post-production. In any case, it was a terrible experience and I shall not View an IMAX movie again. I can have a superior a sound experience in my home theatre and I don't have to put up with the expensive fast food.
The VIP experience vs a standard avx movie isn't worth it. Not here at least. The chairs were no more comfortable then a regular seat, only difference being you can. Drop the middle divider to cuddle, but if you aren't cuddling it's useless. I came early, had a beer in the lobby and ordered a hamburger in the theater. The bacon and cheese burger arrived in a beautiful presentation, but that's all it was. The cheese was barely there, if I didn't open the burger up and poke around I wouldn't have believed it was there. The meat was overcooked and felt like rubber, I've had vegan burgers that felt more like meat. The meal, definitely not worth the extra price. The VIP experience all in all was not worth it for this cinema
One of my favourite date nights is at the Markham VIP. I prefer this older style of VIP versus the newer fully reclining (as at Pickering), as it offers more space between couples, and you don’t feel like you’re beside anyone else. Food is very expensive and generally mediocre for the cost. I still expect Cineplex to try harder in this area. Otherwise I find the IMAX too cramped, and the regular cinemas do have movable armrests but are generally unremarkable compared to the new fully reclining general seating (at no extra cost) available at, for example, Oshawa.
Screen always seems too dark for my liking ... But very nice and clean ... Lots good food around for you, after or before the movie ...
Love this place if you can afford the VIP experience. Cheap Tuesdays are well worth it. Food is what you would expect, pricey but not really memorable.
Deserved ZERO star. No parking even though we tried to look for one for the past half an hour- not even underground on a Friday night, no enough washroom on the ground floor, no chairs at all for people to wait for their friends to arrive. Self serve counter for buying tickets - no options to use an e-gift card so we had to end up paying. Will never come back to this cineplex. Unfortunately only this cineplex have the show I want to watch...but do yourself a favour, don’t waste your time and money and avoid this cinplex at all cost
Good theatre. Watched many movies here.
Avoid if you can... We went to see Toy Story 4 with 2 of my kids... and I am having a hard time deciding which was the worst part of the experience... - the smell of urine throughout the theatre (Auditorium 7). Scent like an overflowed toilet in a bar bathroom. - the various people talking throughout the movie... loudly.... family discussions... in multiple rows... kids with kids, parents with kids, parents with parents. No sign of manners at all from many people. No, I don’t need to hear you make dinner plans 1/3 of the way through the movie. Yes, you do need to start parenting your kids beginning with teaching your children how to act in a movie theatre. Then again, if you don’t have manners, it is the blind leading the blind. -cell phone discussions including requests by kids to play with cell phones while the movie is on.... and parents acquiescing. It felt like we visited a third world country to watch a movie.... I needed a shower after we got home to shake off the dirty feeling/smell in my clothes. It was gross.
I was excited to receive a VIP gift card for Valentine's day from my girlfriend and when we arrived we both felt anything but VIP we had to flag down servers after sitting at our table for 20 minutes and they still didn't come eventually we did get a server and proceeded to order our first drink and meals and we were told the kitchen were experiencing an overwhelming amount of orders witch was acceptable there were 4 tables full outside and I can only assume people at there seats however we waited an hour for our food and for the server to come back for our next drink witch we wanted 30 min prior but had no one to order from we then waited from 7:20 until 7:45 for the server to come back and cash us out and our movie was at 7:30 And already started
My girlfriend and I were in the area and decided to take in a movie as we had not seen one in a while due to the pandemic. We really enjoyed the VIP theatre experience over the regular type of movie theatre especially with the leather lounge chairs.
V.I.P lounge is best for wathing movies.
While clean and a relatively new theatre, the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Lady at the ticket booth was a bit surly in how she explained that I needed to book my tickets online using my gift vouchers. The ticket taker to entrance appeared to be having a bad day as he was sour-faced — didn’t greet us, didn’t tell us what theatre number we were in until asked, nor how to get there until asked. Leads me to believe the cinema management is not doing their job training their staff on how to be customer-service oriented.
First and last time here. They cheaped out on the seats. The seats at other VIP theatres are better, you get to kick out your chair and go into recline, these chairs recline as much as an airplane seat... And the seats are too close together, people can kick your chair...I paid for VIP because I absolutely hate people kicking my chair during a movie and yet here people still can... Not worth it for VIP... Go elsewhere. I always go to Yonge and Eglinton, I thought because this was a relatively new theatre it would be modeled like that one...nope.... Save your money and watch a regular movie at this theatre
Great theatre, location and restaurants right there. Parking might be an issue as it's limited and no one knows how to park. Clean inside and great people working there. All theatres are on 2nd floor with loads of space and area. Great place to take friends and family. VIP is extra very clean and worth the $.
The movie watching experience is good. The place is clean. It is confusing for people new to this location, as you have to purchase tickets at the 1st floor, and move to the 2nd floor to watch. This is confusing because the escalator is located immediately at two of the main entrances to the theatre, and generally people migrate immediately towards the escalator to go up to the theatre area, only to find they have to purchase tickets back at the 1st floor. Did someone not think this through? The tickets prices are overpriced, I paid $18.99, then tax, for a 3D movie? Actually?
VIP service was good. The food tasted okay. The nachos weren't out of cold but close to it, the cheese was barely present and couldn't have been melted recently. The burger patty was cold as well and overall felt it came from the fridge to the plate directly. Will come for a movie again but will eat elsewhere next time.
It's still shiny and new. It's packed during the typical peak hours and close parking is sparse. The theatre layout is confusing but someone will be glad to point you to the right direction.
Best way to watch movies...amazing experience from having drinks in the lounge, to the really good food (big surprise)...no really!! Comfy seats, servers...they make u feel like a star...
I love coming to this Cineplex especially for their IMAX and VIP. The service here is great and I honestly feel the screens are bigger here and the 3D is more "3D" possibly because of newer hardware. This is definitely my go to spot.
The movie theatre was very clean. Offered what you'd expect from the brand. Good lobby snack options. One of the few theaters in Niagara with the assigned seating. Staff are young and nice when you talk with them.
VIP is a great way to enjoy dinner and a movie. We received great service from the staff, super friendly and quick. Our server, Faiz, was fantastic and so fast with our order. My husband and will definitely be back!
we always go this theatre and wt really happened was we are not allowed to take any outside food in the theater and when we asked the valid reason none of the employee or manager could give the better reason. we bought the chattime from the same building, from downstairs and we had to throw away our drinks bcoz we were not allowed where we spend $40 on tickets, this is ridiculous if someone doesn't want to buy from the theater coz it's expensive as hell or if they dont drink pop,it doesn't mean they can allow drink from outside, its not like its gonna be food cross contimantion inside the theatre or something else. This was a very bad from cineplex where I had to dumb my $10 drinks in the garbage for nothing. They need to change their policy or they better have a good reason not to take food inside the theatre.
Not a fan of this theater because of the poor designing. Many of the smaller theaters inside have an obstructed viewing angle because of wall positioning, though the bigger theaters inside don't have this problem. One of the VIP theaters also has this problem, which really sucks, I booked tickets at the very back row once and was very distracted by the viewing angle as the projector encasing came out front in the middle of the top two rows, every theater I have ever been to has had the projector encasing behind all the seats. I feel like the problem with this place is that they spent so much money on the outer atmosphere and facilities, that they forgot to make the theaters themselves top notch. The place is extremely crowded on weekends, one of the most busy theaters I have been to.
Great service. Wonderful theatre.
I went to see a movie here recently and they told me we could not bring our dinner into the cinema. We had just purchased a dozen samosa and some lamb kabob and we had to throw it out because the movie guy said no eatng. I asked him if he sells samosa and he said he they did not not so i reasoned with him that if he does not sell it then he hould allow us to bring it in as snack as we dont eat pop corn. I will never go here agai . Is not good policy!!!
Honestly I want to chat time to meet someone then I was on my way to catch a movie I had not finished my slushie from Chat time but they would not let me take this into the movie theater..... Pretty disappointed because this is all part of the same facility I didn't understand why didn't you want me to take my drink from chat time there
The place looks very nice inside and there is plenty of parking. In the winter the underground parking is heated which means you can leave the jacket in the car when entering and leaving the theatre. Other than that it's really like any other Cineplex.
I’ve always had good experiences here; I love that it’s located in a building with other fast food restaurants (Chatime, Milestones, etc) giving us a selection to choose from. There are many auditoriums and they are all huge which is great. There is also a huge arcade space as well. They have multiple self serve ticket kiosks therefore you don’t need to wait in the long line at the box office!
I love Markham VIP. I always come. BUT I was very disappointed with customer service. I came yesterday with my Girlfriend. Ordered food and drinks as ALWAYS! Ordered right before movie start... i waited and waited....my Drink never came. i was dehydrated for 2 hours. i went straight to get a refund after the movie ended. Talked to one of the staff... she told me to wait.... i waited 10mins....for her to figure out whatever she needed to figure out in the back room. 10mins after she took out a receipt ...telling me i didnt order any drink that is why my drink never came. i looked at the receipt...GUESS WHAT...wasnt even my receipt. So she went to back AGAIN to check ....took her another x amount of time....she came out telling me... Yes, you did ordered a drink! ( OF COZ I DID!!!!) She did refund the money. I asked nicely after if she can accommodate something. She asked me to wait AGAIN..... She finally came out... with a FREE POP CORN voucher .... telling me this is the BEST she can offer. I PAID for VIP service !!!...my drink never came. i was dehydrated. i couldnt enjoy my movie. I had to wait a LONG time for their mistake to get a refund. PLEASE NOTE: the staff NEVER apologised for the mistakes and the inconvenience they caused... BEST offer is A free POPCORN voucher ?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?
I love having a beer with my movie and I dot have to move every were and miss some of the movie vip it's way better and they ask for ID wuch is good so kids won't bother you at all its a good place to go for a date
It a fantastic place to pass your time if you don't want to see any movie. This complex has games, food & bars, there are other restaurant in this building if you are a food fan.
Happy to see that the cinemas are open again! This is our favourite location to catch a movie.
Great selection of added restaurants, but the prices may seem to high. Popcorn prices are pretty expensive (around 8.49 for a large), and the best deals often come with the burgers. Staff are pretty nice and but can get lazy at times. Spacious places with many stores in or around the plaza. Also has a mini arcade (xscape) inside.
bought the tickets online. brought the booking id and bar code to the theater to pickup the tickets AS INSTRUCTION. but all the kiosks not working for my code, so went to the ticket office. but unfortunately they refused to give me the tickets with the booking id and bar code only. instead THEY WANT THE WHOLE PDF FILE which contained the booking id and bar code they send to me through email. the file i did not carry with me at that moment, so i failed to get the tickets, screwed up my rest of weekend schedule.
Nice place to go as they have a neat selection of food stalls there. Chatime is my favourite. And yes, people do sneak in food to the theatre. Who really wants to pay $8 for a hot dog? Not me!. Just keep in mind that the front row seats are uncomfortable and parking spots are hard to find during peak hours, so if you're coming in during those times, good luck as most likely you'd get the very front uncomfortable seat or not be able to get in at all.
Well, Let start with there IMAX; it's a good size, but not the biggest in the GTA. The sound could be louder compared to the others, but overall still good. The VIP is good, but I have been to better in the GTA. The washrooms on the VIP side are super clean five stars, but on the regular side not so much. Food could be more fresher (it's just frying). The popcorn is alway cold, never fresh to order. Other locations are starting to do fresh to order, but I believe it's might just be who is managing the location. Overall, it nice and parking is free, but very limited on weekends and Tuesdays. Also, I will be updating this review the next time I visit this location.
The screen in theatre 3 (I believe it was 3) has visible markings on the screen and for the price you pay for a movie this should not be the case as it distracts you from what you are watching. Also the price if popcorn is ridiculous, if prices at the concessions were cheaper more people would be inclined to go.
The seats are fantastic. Good prices. Sound and video was pretty good.
Nice to back to cinema and watching good movie!
I really enjoy to watch movies at VIP room, most of the staffs treat you friendly and polite. The seats are more comfortable, spacer than the traditional one.
One particular incident with a rude staff member has turned me off or this movie theatre. The person who rips the ticket, Sami, was extremely rude when pointing out that I couldn't bring my outside drink into the theatre. I then explained that my outside drink was water. He then made me open my bottle to prove it, and then says 'congratulations' in a sarcastic tone when he sees that it is, in fact, water. He made my fairly expensive movie night, unenjoyable. I don't go out very often, so that was really disappointing. The three other people that I was with, and I, were not very pleased with how the situation went down and will be travelling to the Richmond Hill movie theatre from now on.
The Service i received was great here. However, the seats in the vip auditorium were VERY uncomfortable. They aren’t full reclining seats. I wish I never booked this theatre it’s such a waste. I left with a stiff neck at the end of a 2 and a half hour movie. Plus to make matters worse the guy sitting next to me smelled so bad. ????????????????
Great theater, poor selection. Service and sanitation is great. Theatres are big, quality is great. My problem comes from the movies and the way they're distributed. This is about the only theater in this entire town. If you want to see something that isn't playing there, too bad. Drive into Toronto or Richmond Hill. Now that's normal with how cinemas work but very rarely are a lot of films showing and, even if they are, a few of them are locked behind the VIP lounge. This is a big problem. Sometimes I can understand why they choose to do this with certain films. La La Land did it a couple years ago and Molly's game did it last year. But when Fantastic Beasts 2 comes out, they lock it off from a younger audience. Seriously?! That forces almost the entire audience of this film to another town to see this movie. Decisions like this are killing theatres. I'm 17 years old and I have to go to the imagine cinemas in Richmond Hill cause I'm too young to see a Harry Potter movie. Thanks, cineplex.
Great experience in the VIP theatre! Facility is very new and clean. Service was great in the lounge and theatre too. I ordered a salad which wasn’t anything special although I really enjoyed the sangria and my boyfriend enjoyed the classic mac n cheese. Pretty large variety of drinks and food on the menu, however I’d just stick to trying their nachos or ordering popcorn and other snacks next time!
great place for date night parking restaurant nice building all in one place
It's your typical movie theatre. Although this particular location would show Chinese movies (Cantonese and/or Mandarin depending on the title). This location also have arcade games, although the selection is about a dozen. Underground parking seems to have more spaces compare to outdoor parking. At the time of this review, the places is still attracting more business in the complex, so parking could be an issue in the future.
It's nice. Foods really good. Guess parking is not great but everything else is good. It is on second floor. Nice place to watch a movie plus they have fun stuff to eat.
Why do we need.to show ID if we have the proof of the vacine
It was my first experience at a Cineplex VIP theatre, and overall it was enjoyable. The tickets were given to us by a friend, so I can't speak to the cost. Also, the movie was Rogue One in 3D - I should have known better, my eyes can't take 3D movies. The seats are superbly comfortable. I don't have a recliner at home, so it was treat to have one here. When we walked in, a staff member asked which seats we were, then directed us to the rough area in the theatre were they were. Once we sat down, another staff member came by and asked if we needed anything, if we had been here before, and explained how it worked. All of the menus (dinner, drinks, desserts) were available beside each seat, and the staff members were attentive to the fact when someone was done and ready to order. We didn't order food, but my spouse ordered a drink and then went to the concession for popcorn. Payment for food/drinks is easy; staff have access to a mobile card reader if you want to use debit or credit. The drink arrived cold and in a proper glass - there was a bit of confusion because he wasn't at his seat. To enjoy the whole experience, we will very likely be coming back for a date night (non-3D movie though).
This rating is for my experience at the concession stand today because the theatre part is great. Asked if the Starbucks they serve is fresh and the guy said no and that it was made when they opened 3 hrs ago. I asked him when they will make a fresh pot and he said when the existing one is almost done. I asked even if it takes 5 hours and he said yes. Dont waste your money on the coffee there.
Nice and fairly new. The seats tilt back a little to find your comfort seating position, this was in the regular theater. The VIP seating is a little wider and comfy, those seats also move to simulate as if you are part of the movie. Similar to some of Disney's movie experience. Pretty cool so hang on. Two thing that really annoyed me, 1, way too many previews and advertisements, and 2, some of the advertisements were in Chinese. I know it's China Town North, but give me s break. Otherwise OK.
Great place to enjoy movies, next to restaurants and shops. Ample parking. VIP section is luxurious.
I have to change the perfect rating I gave. They turn off the bathroom lights so no one watching a late showing can use them. Long line of confused bathroom goers. Also, bathrooms were filthy even prior to lights out. Workers talking loudly in the corrider while movie starts and discussing customers/tips. Not very VIP experience.
I just went to see a movie in VIP with my wife. The facilities were nice and love the reserve seating. I also love that it isn’t very crowded. The service was meh. I had gotten a beer beforehand and bar service was friendly. We went into the theatre about 20 minutes before the movie started and not once did anyone come up to ask if we wanted anything. They seemed busy running running orders from the bar to theatre. I decided to walk to the popcorn station outside of the theatre to see if I could order a meal there but she sent me to the bar to Order and unfortunately when I went back, the bar server was chatting with some other customers and after waiting a few minutes I had to head back without ordering before the movie started. All in all, could have been better
It's always great to watch movies, especially during the pandemic. People all wore masks as I noticed
Only 5 minutes from my home. they did really good during COVID 19, separate all the customers( sit 4 people in a row )
VIP section is awesome. Chairs are big and comfortable, you get to reserve your seating in advance, and you get private washrooms with a sink all to yourself. I definitely feel like a VIP there.
Extremely packed inside. When I asked the attendant why they weren't following COVID-19 restrictions, she said the demand for the movie was just too much. NOT SAFE, DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION.
So what's the point of having assigned seating when multiple people sit in your seats. What am I supposed to move everyone? To all, this is constantly happening!!! There must be a better way! Also when its 36 outside, could you please use the AC. For what us charged for a seat you would think you could at least be comfortable while watching...
Best place in the area for VIP seats. Vip area has a Nice lounge right before the theaters to sit and relax and grab a drink. Nice little balcony aswell. The washrooms here are a breath of fresh air, you get your own room rather than a stall with gaps. The parking can be a bit tricky though. I usually find a spot in the underground.
I've been coming to this theater since it opened, and it saddens me to write this, but over time the viewing experience has become utterly abysmal. And it isn't due to the staff, or the theater itself, but rather the patrons that frequent this establishment. The past 10 movies I've experienced at this theater have been absolutely ruined by the rude and selfish behaviour that I have come to expect from the audience. Without fail, the moment the lights dim, you are met with the inane chatter of the uncouth, uneducated, and undignified. It is nearly impossible to drown out the foul chitterings of these selfish attendees. They are an insufferable lot; self-absorbed, and clearly of poor upbringing. I have seen children not more than 5 years of age act more respectfully. If you're seeking a good viewing experience, then please, I implore you, seek other venues for your precious evening. Do not waste your valuable time and money on what will be an unequivocally terrible experience. Don't get me started on the cell phone usage. Who the hell talks through Starwars?! Excrement posing as humans, that's who!
Very clean and comfortable seats. Tried their iMax screen and it was a good experience. Now I understand the extra 5 bucks is worth it. Much larger screen compared to normal movies. Just wish the seats were better as there is no difference from regular.
The VIP experience is very nice, the food is great, but it is a bit pricey. Its a good splurging activity!
Amazing Cineplex location. Clean & contemporary. Achitecture built with aesthetics in mind. Ample dining & takeout options in the vicinity such as Milestones, South St. Burger, Me-Va-Me, Aroma Espresso Bar, Go For Tea, and Chatime. Highly recommend for a new, revamped take on the movie-watching experience. Only downside: parking (though not impossible) is a nightmare.
Someone was attacking ppl in the cinema but the security and the staff were stand by and let it happened. I can't believe such a big company will put the customers in the risk like this. Really appreciate the people who tried their best to help the victims and called the police. Don't expect Cineplex will protect the customer in the cinema. You have to protect yourself here and they don't care about what happened at all
Staff excellent in screening for entrance Not crowded in theater Menu in VIP section great and food was very good Will go again
The amentities are fine, however the movie experience was lacking in enjoyment. Firstly, there were too many advertisements and commercials for products and no trailers. I come to the movies to see what movies are coming up, not to be sold to. Secondly, the most important, some advertisements were in Mandarin or Cantonese. I don't appreciate being solicited in a language that is not one of Canada's national languages. When I come to watch an English movie I expect everything to be in English. It doesn't matter that we are in China Town North, there should be no advertisements in Mandarin or Cantonese if the movie is in English.
We arrived to watch Glass. We arrived in our theater for VIP viewing. We decided not to order any food as we were going to the japanese restaurant across from the theater. The staff offered us a free popcorn and glasses of water as it was free popcorn day. None of the items arrived. The review was poor because we weren't going to order anything but was offered some items which never came. We still dont know what happened. Such a odd expierence..
Very new and clean facilities with the new seat movies always showing. No complaints on the staff but also nothing exceptional. Over priced but that’s the movies these days.
I went to this location twice now, and parking was a MAJOR problem both times. Both times, I ended up late for my movie as a result because it took me more than half an hr to find a spot. First time, I parked in the mud because parking was not complete, and I had to park across the street for the second time. I find that ridiculous. On top of that, the staff was useless and rude because there was an issue with our VIP e-tickets. Needless to say, I will not return to this location unless not given a choice. I recommend NOT GOING to this location for Tuesday nights or for major film screenings because you will have parking problems.
Great access and convenient kiosk for getting tickets. Nice VIP place with access to all the drinks and food. Close walk from concession stand to the actual theatres
The VIP theatre is amazing. Great seats and lots of staff taking orders. My food wasn't great but I still love seeing a movie here.
Modern theaters with food and restaurants close by. IMAX theater as well as VIP theater.
The VIP experience is nice since there’s less people than the regular theatre. However no matter what do NOT buy the Chicken pesto pizza. It tasted like I was eating oil. It was disgusting. It is the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten in my life.
I am a Asian,am I under protection?? I am not right?
Standard cineplex theater. Only minus is that they don't have the pop machine that offers a multitude of flavors.
Modern and new, the game area is actually lively and good for kids birthday party reservation. Can't wait to be able to watch a movie in theatre again Also parking for this spot isn't that either.
Great location. Always clean and staff provides great service. Catch a flick the VIP section for a neat cinema experience.
Usually don't have issues but my most recent visit I got a drink spilled on me by a server and they brought my food order up in 4 trips even though it was really basic... Don't understand why they brought things up 1 by 1... Anyway they reimbursed me so no harm no foul situation handled well considering.
The location is pretty good just off the highway and there is a good amount of parking spaces. The service in the VIP auditoriums is just about the average in terms of quality and speed. The food is also what you would expect from a movie theatre. Unfortunately, the washroom cleanliness was not up to standard.
Very good atmosphere. Always people here when I come. Perfect for a date. Big arcade. You can also get dinner in the mall before the movie.
I am so disappointed on what I was experiencing in Cineplex today. I hold a cup of sealed tea when I was entering the Cineplex, the staff told me I need to finish the drink as it’s not allow to drink inside. I told them I won’t drink it when I am watching or I can keep it outside then take it back when I go out. They refused both suggestions and said I can either drink it now or throw it if I want to go inside. How ridiculous it is! There was no announcement showing that customers are not able to take food or drink inside when I purchased the tickets. If I knew I cannot drink inside, I won’t buy any beverage. No matter this rule is from government or Cineplex, Cineplex has responsibilities to let customers know it when we’re buying tickets. Otherwise, you should keep the drink for customers or refund the tickets.
I got the chance to check out Cineplex Cinemas Markham and VIP, I was running late for a movie and rushing to the theatre on public transit. I was able to get through without any issues, but some people might think that this is a long distance from where they live. The entrance has a tunnel of lights and it opened up into the lobby. There were some people at the concession stand but it wasn’t busy yet.
A great location for VIP cinemas. Do be aware that the washrooms are not gender assigned and they're are only three for VIP. Plan your bathroom breaks accordingly.
The parking lot is a serious problem at this location. The theatre shares space with shops, GoodLife, restaurants and serves as an office tower. The buildings security management is quick to issue parking tickets. Be careful if you are picking up or dropping off kids/seniors from the movies or gym. There is no tolerance or proper location for a ‘kiss and cry’. Make sure to give yourself lots of time to park before the movie start time. Cineplex should be working with management to expand the parking lot to make going to the movies enjoyable again.
Good experience overall. Good spacing in VIP. This location doesn't have the legs the kick out but there's more than enough space to sit comfortably
Good service and be patient to help customer slove the problem
Excellent in particular they block our surrounding seats.
Great complex with goodlife, aroma, many restaurants and fast food places, and cineplex. You can have alcoholic drinks in any theater (they sell them there) and they have a 19+ VIP section for a truly pampered movie experience. Just watch out for big crowds on the weekends and even some weekdays. There is lots of parking, but you may have to park a short walk away due to availability. Buy tickets in advance for best experience and just scan your digital tickets at the entrance right from your phone.
Great experience! First time to see a VIP movie and I'm hooked. Service was fantastic and food was pretty good. Wouldn't recommend the nachos but the tacos and sliders were delicious.
Theater #6 Once upon a time in Hollywood. I left after 50 min. Frustrated. The movie is sucks and changed 3 times the chair because it was uncomfortable and almost reaching the floor and the theater not even that old the A/C very low for a hot summer day!!!
Great experience and fantastic customer service when a food order in the VIP lounge was messed up. The customer service was unexpected because my previous experiences with movie theatres. They also had live music before the show which was a very nice touch.
Great movie theatre. Staff is nice and helpful!
Cineplex is cineplex. Lol. What else to say?
Watched new SpiderMan movie. What a experience... Great movie chain to watch any movie..
To say I was disappointed is an understatement! The projection is so outdated or need bulb replacement. The picture quality is by far the worst I have seen in Toronto. It was dim so dim that color was so flat, images were unclear never mind depth which is non existent. They should be ashamed to charge so much and then give them this kind of quality. I was in theatre 5 for Mission Impossible Fall Out.
First VIP experience, very enjoyable with their excellent service, washroom facilities, ordered food right at your seat and got delivered , no line up anymore. Underground parking is very convenient especially during cold windy days. I think I will never go back to regular seat again. Worth to pay more with more comfortable seats and nice view.
Great theatre location! Just wish they had VIP reclining seats like the one on don mills. Just beware - underground parking is almost impossible to get when I come here.
Good location with lots of parking and places to eat. They show all the new releases, but seldom have regular version showings until very late at night. I do appreciate that they have all the other viewing options though. Too bad the imax here is "fake"
Almost got hit by a security guard who decided to drive past our car at an incredibly fast speed for an INDOOR PARKING LOT. He was not on duty as he was in his own car and he was fairly young. Please stop employing negligent teenagers who feel the need to speed through the parking lot when they have reserved spots.
Clean movie theatre, what else do you need?
Interesting design in the underground parking, need time to see all graffiti. The cinema didn't have a cashier, only the automatic kiosks to get the tickets. Not long lines to get inside.
I like VIP room, fewer people and better service. Food is acceptable, but sometimes I want two adjacent chairs to be unblocked.
I arrived with my granddaughter to see Frozen, when we got to the concessions counter. There were many employees doing nothing...and only ONE cash opened where the client was taking to longer. The employees there seemed to be asleep or just wanting to talk with eachother. Not at anytime they realized or thought to asked if i needed helped. Since we had winter coats to carry, 2 kiddy packs and a buster chair. Wish they could be a bit more proactive.
Good Movie theater. Gone there 10-15 times. Its clean and comfortable. I would just say that parking is hard to get especially the underground parking when it is busy.
LOVE when people put arts in places like that. Cinema is great. Lots of food choices. Indoor parking is super practical and clean. The whole place is super clean.
Well maintained environment and I'm content with their COVID protocols. Only concern is that the leather on the chairs in VIP are cracking on the armrests leading to a scratched up arm.
Comfortable and clean seats at VIP theater but the food was very disappointing. Very small portions and poor quality for a price that you would pay at a good restaurant.
Love this theatre. It has great restaurants around it, and the VIP experience is a must if you're into movies. Seats are much more comfortable than a regular theatre. There are many restaurants within walking distance and a number of them are attached to the same mall complex.
This is actually my favourite goto movie theatre. Its new, its clean. The concessions crew works fast. Theres an arcade. The floor below has great spots to hang out with food or bubble tea. A great seafood restaurant outside with other retail shops. The whole area is just a good classy vibe.
Great Experience Overall! Clean And Well Maintained. All Precautions And Protocols Observed. Staff Are Friendly And Helpful. Theaters Are Cleaned Thoroughly. ♿????????
Good theatre. I like watching flicks in the VIP here. Not that we have any other choice in Markham. The area around the theatre is starting to get a little more interesting with more restaurants and stores. The parking at this building is getting harder and harder to find spots. Perhaps they should have made their underground parking bigger.
IMAX experience is quite good
We had purchased VIP tickets and the manager gave us a hard time questioning my age. I had to show her I was of legal age to enter which was not a kind experience. They also sent us the wrong order and made us pay for it? And didn’t bother fixing the order that was sent even though we ordered no meat dishes and were sent some.
Theatre is nice with the art gallery vibe but last 2 times I went for regular showing per time shown online only to find that was an IMAX showing so we had to pay for upgraded show or would have had to wait for too long or come back. Not impressed. Will take screen shot next time and I will raise the roof if it happens again!
Movie started at 11:15 P.m but they didn't let us order at 11:10 and they asked us to order from the bar.At the bar they said kitchen is closed and we can only order Tacos and they're out of onion rings. On the top of that the server gave me someone else food.Poor management , for this great facility. Their priority is to finish they're shift earlier and go home instead of serving customers.
Very artsy place with a lot of sculptures and paintings etc. Theatre seems to be smaller than some of the bigger ones and there were just two or three movie options when we went. Quite a large arcade with a lot of options
Arrived 30 minutes prior to movie, took over 20 minutes for server to take order and when we arrived it wasn't busy. They were taking orders of people who came after us before ours. Shops@Don Mills VIP is a better experience.
Nice facility with lots of parking and theaters
I love visiting the VIP cinemas! You might be thinking "it's just a movie theater" but it is so much more then that. Comfort is the first priority while you recline and stretch out in huge padded chairs with a built in table for food and beverages! The staff are fast and considerate. And the food is always delicious! You have to go at least once
One of the better movie theatres. VIP lounge is pretty awesome, great movie selection, clean amenities, arcade by the entrance, convenient concession stand and friendly staff.
Love it here. Don't go to any other theatres anymore. My husband and I always do VIP and we think it's great. Service is sometimes hit and miss, but for the most part, our experiences here are usually awesome.
No social distance inside the theatre, other people do not respect the "one seat" in between and they will sit where they want. I shouldn't have to be confrontational as a guest to have my social distance space. This was in the general admission auditorium. I don't recommend general admission.
Cinema with a variety of restaurants around it. Lots of parking spots
VIP seating was well worth the extra money. COVID-19 protocols were in place everywhere. Would definitely do this again soon.
Great clean love going here to watch movies in not only comfort but in a nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Parking is ok come early so you aren't late to watch your movie (limited spots)
New build theater, lot of food selection includes non cineplex food. This theater has regular, 3D, D-Box, and IMAX screen. But ticket is also easy to gone fast, the one and only theater in Markham.
Using scene points to redeem two adult tickets. They only offer the front two rolls of seats. Poor service. What is the point by using scene points? Really poor management. Bad product. ????????
Very clean! Not crowded.
Wrost Cineplex ever. The staff are straight up rude and doesn't want to help you in any way. Expect to wait 30 mins if you are buying tickets from box office. There are only two ticket kiosk I can see. No pick up machine is working. So basically you need to either wait 30 mins to buy tickets or wait 30mins to pick up your tickets. I will never go to this cineplex ever. Wrost service.
The quality of food served in VIP is not consistent. Some days are ok, but then there are days where all the food, even burger and fries are served cold.
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean facility
Very Nice and clean theatre. Service at VIP is great experience watching movie with alcoholic beverages and food served at your seats but Sound system could be better. I like the IMAX theatre here the powerful sound system and huge screen are the best experience.
Cineplex Markham was an excellent theater 10/10 after my recent visit V.I.P is still the best but they need to upgrade to tap the rest of the theater is fine but the consestion stand was good but they removed slushies for bubble tea the movie theater is now moving away from an all diverse group to an asian group I shouldn't have to travel to STC to watch new and scary movies.
VIP is great here. Food is average. They serve Starbucks brand coffee inside as well. Service is pretty good. Bathrooms are pretty fancy.
AWFUL!The service was SO BAD. We came from Mississauga just for this movie. But there was no enough seats in the theatre , which I don’t know why I purchased the ticket online but I can’t watch the movie. The staff in the theatre said we can use the ticket tomorrow. However, when we came to the counter for double check, one employee called LISA didn’t help us to find a solution. She said we have to do the refund first and then buy the new ticket, with weird attitude. We tried to express our feelings. But this is not about price difference. This is about ATTITUDE. We couldn’t feel any respect from her weird smile. I didn’t even know what was funny. I definitely won’t come again. It’s the worst pexperience ever!
Maybe uplifted restrictions, there were more ppl than I expected
Clean place and people can keep social distance.
Great family time and couples entertainment. Great collection of restaurants but if there more collection of food that will be great , not much healthy options there if you want to go for late night movies
Clean and modern with both IMAX and VIP options, many bubble tea and restaurant options in the same complex. Underground parking limited but sufficient parking outside. FYI no showtimes weekday afternoons (except Summer) which shouldn't affect most.
The VIP movie section is incredible. Very tastefully decorated; private toilets with sinks; spotlessly clean; 3xcellent and attentive service. Makes for an expensive movie outing but well worth it for those of us who only go every now and again.
They have been opened for a while, staff still don't know what they are doing. Had a confirmation code but never received a email from Cineplex they refused to manually print the tickets and made me pay for another pair of tickets and had to call head office to get a refund. The manager was present at the site and refused to intervene
Very large theater and very clean. Located within the Enterprise Mall at Birchmount & Enterprise Blvd in Markham. I have enjoyed a few movies here.
Food and drink portions were not worth the price, but still great taste. Popcorn was REALLY salty! Other than that, beautiful experience, comfort, service and cleanliness. Would most definitely go back again.
This theatre is very clean and modern looking. It is a bit pricier than other Cineplex theatres and it's likely because of its location. I would definitely come here again because I like the location, though I do still prefer some other Cineplex theatres that are slightly cheaper.
Came here to watch glass. They had the same movie playing in theaters right beside each other. The female who tore our ticket and who is supposed to inform me of which theater I bought tickets to never did her job. I walked into the first theater and watched the last 20mins of the movie....... I got a refund.
VIP experience in the theatre was good, service, food and movie excellent! Waiting in the bar/lounge for service horrible. Waited 20+ mins to be acknowledged, there were over 6 staff standing around, 4 behind bar and two by the comp screen. most were on there phones. Very Disappointed, went to the movie 45 mins early to have drinks in lounge, but that didnt happen.......
The best place with multicultural movie selections uptown. And like others have mentioned, parking can be a mess especially on Tuesdays. No joke I advise people to see if they can find a parking first before buying their discount Tuesday tickets.
Was there to watch a 3D movie a few days ago. Unfortunately the screen was dim and badly calibrated so much of the scene and details were lost. Talked to customer service next day with no avail. You need to complaint while you are there in the theater. If others encountered the same issue, you should bring it up to staff right away. Hope Cineplex can correct the issue so it won't happens to others.
Fairly nice and clean with a nice lounge for the VIP theater, one downside is that the actual seats here are smaller than other VIP theaters like shops at don mills. Also no fully reclining seating at this location.
Reeeeeally need to up their parking. Parking spaces should always hold a greater number than the mall's capacity. No other real complaints though, and the new (but likely temporary) complementary photo booth is cool!
Excellent seating, food and drinks, including alcohol, can be ordered into the theatre. Service is good. In my opinion, cost is reasonable & worth it.
VIP section is amazing. Staff very friendly and it’s nothing better than enjoy drink and great movie. Food and drinks in VIP theater were really great, like going to restaurant. Highly recommended
This movie theatre in markham downtown is the best. There are so many good movies, and you could basically watch all the unpopular ones there. There is good popcorn and also there is an arcade where you can win stuff. I personally have watched multiple movies there and the audio and screen thing is very nice. Everyone should go to the cineplex cinemas Markham and VIP.
Very large theaters and lots of room. Staff have been very nice each time I've been there. It was also no where near busy each time I've been there which is nice.
Went to Hillsong Church worship service at 9am Sunday for first time. Good experience, friendly people, wonderful music, practical encouraging talk. Probably will go again. I am critical and that's why I gave it 4 stars ????
General admission - 3⭐️ same as any other theatre, you get what you pay for. Get there early enough for a good seat and sit down and enjoy the movie. However it is a full service complex, restaurants, arcade, and the do birthdays D Box - 3⭐️ tried it twice, one time GOOD they other OK, pick your movie carefully. It’s NOT a date night romantic comedy kinda thing. VIP - 5⭐️ again you get what you pay for. An early visit to the bar and NO rush to get to your reserved seats. Once seated in your comfortable/spacious seat, the service is fast, and variety of food good. I advise getting to your seat early enough to enjoy the at seat service before LAST CALL. PET PEEVES ???? 1) Underground parking can be tricky. A lot of people going the WRONG WAY 2) English or French, welcome to Canada ????????. Commercial are in another dialect, which is NOT inclusive. This is especially annoying when we’re ALL watching an English speaking movie. ???? EDIT - That was then, this is now ... Just came back from AVENGERS END GAME ( no spoilers). We arrived 45 minutes before show time too pick up snacks and watch previews. I purchased 6 tickets/reserved seating, 3 large popcorn/3 Skittles/6 pops ( combos ). They were OUT of the Avengers Bucket ( which the kids wanted!) and NO it wasn’t the co$t that started angry post. It was the $40.00 PARKING TICKET after the show. ???? TOTAL CO$T 6 X $15.00 tickets + 3 X $20.00 snacks + $40.00 ticket = $145.00 and still NO AVENGER BUCKETS(x3) We drove around for 33 minutes looking a spot ( inside and out ). We tried the hotel and the office building, both had restricted parking - I COULDN’T EVEN PAY FOR IT. We saw 3 altercations, people HONKING HORNS, MAKING HAND GESTURES, and ARGUING about spots. * Oh-No the #416 is in the #905 and there was NO SECURITY too be seen outside. I parked behind the snow plow in the Eastern most parking lot. A spot that didn’t impede traffic, emergency service, or handicapped access. By the time we walked/ran as it was so far away - WE WERE LATE. Then our reserved seats were taken, because other patrons who thought they were available because WE WERE LATE. The problem worsened by getting cinema staff to make available our seats. If you are the centre of Markham downtown, shop/live/work/play then you should make it accessible❗️I don’t need to hear its a municipal ticket and it’s not your fault - YOU INVITED US, MY PRE PAID TICKETS DONT COME WITH A PARKING SPOT⁉️ Put some gravel out, make temporary parking, offer valet service, arrange overflow at the office building - we tried. Do something/anything and you can start by reaching out to me by responding to this Google❗️❗️ As for the towns parking enforcement officer, why do you think so many people were parked like that❓ Was there a ca$h incentive for exceeding a quota❓Like I said earlier we were parked at the farthest eastern part of the lot behind a snow plow, NOT impeding vehicle flow, people, or access. There is insufficient parking and NONE off the site - we tried❗️ The handicapped spots are signed, parking spots painted and then there is the painted shoulder NOT marked, taking up actual parking spots❗️ I truly expected the cinema to reach out too us but, but nothing. I’ll update the review if they ever do
Markham theatre is one of the best by far. Very clean, friendly staff. Atmosphere is bright and cheerful. Parking and the traffic sometimes to get in is dreadful as some people dont understand how to walk.or drive but once you get inside the ambiace changes the mood. First movie theatre I check before elsewhere seeing that I live in Markham
