It's best to go to the theatre on Tuesdays when the tickets are much cheaper. It's also still nice that they have the game section in the back corner, the newer bar area, concessions in the middle and also the ticket booths on the second floor. With the pandemic, it's even more necessary to purchase tickets in advanced as they only have the 1 ticket booth on the 1st floor (before ID checking). The theatre is nice and I love the décor! It has a really good set up for the pandemic protocol to direct people in or out. The bottom floor is now allocated for a VR gaming area. The bottom floor also has a mobile app pickup for food allocated for those that want to get concessions. The movie theatre seating themselves are very Cineplex standard with a high incline for you to view from all rows. The staff do a good job cleaning the theaters.

Allester A

Spectacular theatre with at least 15 cinemas. You're sure to find a lot of different movies showing. The IMAX is fairly massive. Has a bar and arcade to spend time in before movie starts.

Jessica Wu

This place was quite impressionable on me. There's a nice charm in the long narrow escalator walkway that you take to the entrance... sort of the built-up momentum surmounting before the real show, aka movie. Overall, nice cozy theatres, pleasant service, good area for eats and drinks prior as well.

Faith Jenner

Escalator is so long I get vertigo. Bar snacks are expensive. On the good side: washrooms are always clean and they use unbleached, recycled toilet paper. At the snack bar, Christena and Melissa willingly made unsalted popcorn just for me. ( I have kidney disease, but I didn't tell them that).

Marcin Sobczak

Went there to get 3d d-box experience. While movie quality was good and moving chairs were a interesting experience, the whole place have seen better times and most staff (students God love them) looked very unhappy working there ;)

Bobby Anand

The establishment has one of the best staff, I’ve ever had the pleasure to talk with. I had a complication with my movie tickets (Halloween, 2018) and the staff directed me to the help desk, they not only fixed my issue within seconds but offered me tickets to the next show (it was 25 minutes into the movie, but commercials ended after 20 min, so I kindly refused). The popcorn is freshly popped, with butter dispensers to add at your own leisure, with drink stations with an enormous selection. If you feel bad about all food, you could take the deadly walk down the enormous flight of stairs or just take one of the many escalators. The theatres were extremely clean, and roomy. One of the seats might have been broken as they reclined to ridiculous levels. Overall, a great experience. (Also, parking was not difficult to find at this location).

We had our staff party here. Love the nostalgia they have around the place. Staff is nice. Line up in front is quite small and you could be outside if it is a blockbuster. Always rains when you're in line outside for some reason.

Joshua B Thomas

Very well maintained theatre. Staff was helpful all the way from their exit to the screen.

Jeremy Andrews

Best cinema I've been to in downtown Toronto. Good selection of food and beer, consistently clean, modern and fresh decor, all screens are large and have stadium seating. There's no VIP, but you can take beer to any cinema and there's a for while you're waiting, so that's pretty good. The only thing they're missing is 4DX, I wish I didn't have to go to Yonge/Dundas for 4DX.

Gabriel Norori

Love going to Scotiabank theatre for tent poll movies....IMAX all the way.

ian marcinkowski

Cineplex has been letting their quality slip as their prices increase for years. I'm tired of low-volume, dim movies in their Standard theatres in order for them to upsell you on IMAX and UltraAVX where they moved all of the surround speakers and bright projectors. I can't wait for a Landmark Cinema to move in to Toronto so I can get fully-reclining seats, better screens, cheaper snacks all at a cheaper rate.

Madison Byrnes

Clean building with nice seats, popcorn was good, pop machine is the new Coca-Cola multiple selection ones. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Sonny J Ong

Alright theater. Cool super long escalator. They give $5 off of the parking next door, which is usually going to end up at $10 after a 2 hour movie. IMAX is big for downtown but still not full-size IMAX which makes me feel ripped off. They should just call it something else like IMEDIUM or something.

Bao Dinh Nguyen

Modern architecture with flying spaceships, galatic decor, breathtakingly long elevator, several game vendors to pass time while waiting for your friends, and a spacious lounge for chit chat. I took one star out of five due to a messy battlefield left by Indian customers, with popcorn on the ground, leftover on trashbin lits, and a wet floor in both washroom.

Eric Bateman

What you would expect from a theater overall, friendly service, fresh junk food. The food area is exceptional hot though compared to the rest of the cinema. I would bet it has to do with it being hot outside as well.

Soy Bomber

its a theater. shows movies and stuff :P

Darren Cheung

Nice theatre. Really enjoy the AVX and larger screens. Normal screens though seem a bit small. Washrooms are not convenient as they are up a set of stairs in the game zone.

Meldea D

Location is great but their escalator seems to be always in repair every time. Just thinking of going up that 75 steps just to watch for a movie is making me cringe already. And with just one old dingy elevator available, it's losing more customers I would bet.

Nun Nil

Very quiet as of December 2021 which is nice, I got a standard ticket cause it was the only time that worked for me. Despite that, the sound and picture quality were still great. Can't wait try other format next time. I heard Dolby is great.

Nima Darvish

Getting drinks is a nightmare. They placed the drinks near the ticket line so the line-up for drinks and line-up for showing your ticket are intermingled. Once you get to the drink machines, it's so damn tight that you're bound to knock a drink or a popcorn over. Abd then you have to line up to show your ticket. Horrible system.

Zain Z

I did not explore the entire building, but I went to see a movie here. They have many options for snacks and other items. More than one place to get such things in this cinema. The decor of the building looks a little old to be honest. The staff are useful when you approach them. Also, a lot of things are "do it yourself". I have seen staff handing out 3d glasses at other cinemas, but this one, they put the 3d glasses in front of the door, you pick it up on your way in. There are also self-serving popcorn toppings.

Mata Kranakis

Good theatre, generally pretty empty (expect for big releases), GREAT soda machine. 1 year later: The Soda machine at scotiabank = life. They have caffeine free Diet Coke in multiple flavours that I can drink in the evening! Who cares about the movies, just gimme a Diet Coke ???? Also, they now serve beer in all theatres ????

Mary Gillmeister

Large multiplex cinema with all the bells and whistles (IMAX, AVX), including a fun new gaming area on the street level. All blockbusters all the time. Numerous food and drink options over and above the usual theatre snacks. Licensed lounge. Comfortable stadium seating. Elevator and escalator access to the cinema / box office level, which is perched high in the sky.

Sarah Fritsch

I adore this place, the location is perfect! The cinema is large, and quite beautiful from the outside. The staff are always nice, and polite. Great for enjoying after shopping))) For all the popcorn lovers, their popcorn is highly addictive, and always enjoyable with every movie you watch!

Michael Jackson

Comfortable and quite, lounge chairs are excellent. Plenty of room. Downtown location works for after movie dining and drinks.

Adam Brotherwood

Came here with a new friend I melted out of a glacier and brought to Toronto. I thought it would be cool to take him to see a movie, so we came here. He was gruntless, and staggered back at seeing the size of the imax screen. I think his mind was blown since he's used to cave paintings as being the primary source of Media. The ushers were great in helping me calm him down, and the overpriced large popcorn kept him happy. Came back to see Black panther, he seemed a bit offended at the lack of cavemen portrayed in the movie. I told him that it's not about him and just to enjoy it, after that he was fine.

yash patil

It’s a nice place to hangout. Playing pinball, had a couple of beers, dancing and a never forget night. ????????✌????

Amelia Tran

I usually come here when I watch movies. Staff are usually quite friendly and willing to help. The arcade is fairly small but has some really fun games too. I haven’t been here in a while but as far as I can remember there are some places to buy pizza and popcorn and such in the cinema.

Naomi Armendariz

Pricey, but worth it... well, except the food. It was good food, but the burgers are overpriced. The pulled pork nachos are excellent and actually a lot of food. Being able to mix your own flavour drink was cool too.

Tommy Gouw

Fav place for movie night!

rajesh kumar

Excellent theatre for IMAX experience

Kayla Howlett

Huge theater. Great staff, gave us extra tokens for a machine when ours were eaten! Clean facilities and a wide range of films

Gussie Ownby

Scotiabank Theatre is a huge complex with a mess of screens, multiple food options and a spatious arcade. However, I came in with a broken foot. The escalators were not working, so we had to wait for the one very slow elevator. When we got up to the cinema level, I needed a restroom. The sign directed me through the arcade to a long flight of stairs. Then I saw a family (I think) restroom on the floor level, but when I opened the door, the entire room was filthy. Then, while I slowly made my way up the stairs, an exhausting process, my friends waiting for watched no fewer than three employees go to the family restroom, see the mess, and walk away. No one came back to clean it in the rather extended period it took me to get up and down the stairs. I was very unimpressed.

Soroosh Sorkhani

The only problem was that we could hear the sound of next door theater.

Duncan Watson

Home to Auditorium 13, the biggest IMAX screen around! This theatre also features a Virtual Reality multi-player facility, sports bar, and arcade. Ive been trying to spot a better theatre installment anywhere i travel in the world...but i still havnt found anything that out wieghs AUD 13 at Scotiabank Theatre. People, THIS is the IMAX experience.

Jon T

$24 for parking is what I paid here yesterday. Insane. Also, friend's boot got stuck in the massive escalator once. I had to run all the way to the bottom because there are only emergency stops at each end with none in the middle and security ignored our yells for help. Gave it an extra star because the washrooms are usually pretty clean.

Bathoggywinger

Service is good, theaters themselves are well kept and cleaned. Food and beverages are average for any movie theater. Benefit of this location is its geography, close to the downtown core.

Justin Walker

This is a nice theatre. It’s very big, they have a nice little bar and a huge do it yourself soda dispensing station. You have to take a huge escalator to get to the theatres, so if you have any accessible needs, you may want to call ahead to ensure you don’t run into any problems.

Mike McMahon

Made it to the theatre in time, even after taking the escalator and waiting for a young couple to decide what they wanted to see. Lots of food options are there to choose from should you be hungry.

Ankur Govil

I went to watch Mission Impossible in IMAX at this theatre but it turned out that the size of the IMAX screen was not what the standard size of an IMAX screen is. Read later, that this IMAX screen was converted from a normal screen. Apart from IMAX, this is a good multiplex and has a separate VR zone for VR games (costly). The seats are not much comfortable as compared to the price they charge for the ticket.

C Davies

Imax screen is impressive and a large number of screenings are good. Food is expensive but that's to be expected at a movie theatre this size. Clean theatres though.

Sally zhang

my favorite place!!! This IMAX just amazing!!!!!!!!

Reem Morsi

Love this theatre, specially for wide screen and 3D. Watch out for the stairs, they tend to be dangerous. Also you can get wine with your show if you book a VIP ticket.

Sri Panchalingam

Best Imax in Toronto good sound Clean good service

M M

Seriously we ordered an apple blossom to split before the movie and had a good laugh. Absolutely not worth it but what did we expect? It came in a bed pan, pictured here! ???? (movie was good though)

Mitch Ribeiro

Ok so let's do some math here to see if we can figure out why the theater business is down. You and a date would pay at least $15 each per ticket then over $25 for popcorn and pops then on top of that parking which is $10 (ask for a coupon at the cash as it will bring it down to $5) . So that makes it over $65 to watch a movie on a tiny screen. Then as if that isn't enough the theatres are freezing so bring a jacket. Sheesh. Greed seems to have no boundaries does it ?

christa pinder

Great theatre, even though snacks were not allowed due to covid.

Natalia Bonka

Always enjoy my time in here! Sometimes the tall tall tallest escalators don't work. Otherwise riding those escalators is quite a joy for me. :) I love the atmosphere. They really did a very good job with designing this entertainment complex. Bar has a beautiful interior. It's a pleasure to be in there surrounded by beauty and style. Exquisite experience at the movies ;)

SJ Alexander

Typical big box theatre. Has a bar & game area. Also has VR experience play zone. Near to TIFF Lightbox, so has some festival programming. Check out the grilled cheese place across the street for a pre-movie snack

Daniel Bodnik

Great place to catch a movie downtown! Caters to a lot of small films, especially around TIFF. Offers a "VR experience" but I personally don't think its worth it having played around with the tech and owning a headset myself.

Ron Schroeder

Good sized screens in every theatre and stadium seating so no worries of the person in front being too tall.

Rae Russell

Ive been going here since i was young, and its only getting better. the new coke machine is amazing. they always have all the new movies and the new theatre upgrades. next up: self food ordering? :P

Mark Grant

The best movie theatre in Toronto for Blockbuster big budget action flicks. Great junk food options and hard liquor is served here too! In the heart of Downtown, after a movie there's a ton of dining and entertainment options. Underground parking is very affordable, and transit is just a 2 minute walk away.

Isobel Goddard

This is a great Cineplex - 3D, 4D, IMAX, and at least 12 cinemas. Good snacks, used to do cheap tickets on a Tuesday (not sure if that's still a thing). Only issue sometimes is accessibility - it's a looong escalator or a elevator ride up to the main floor and often one or the other isn't working (today the elevator) although I think they've upgraded the elevator so should reduce problems with that but maybe call ahead to be sure

Kevin P. Siu

The lounge is mediocre, mostly reserved for the oversized and mostly empty bar. The food options are completely bland (used to be better when they had independent retail chains inside). On the bright side the seats are good, though this theatre tends to be busy so don't show up too late.

Bill Zhu

Clean, large movie selection, but more expensive. I came here to see the 3D IMAX with laser. It didn't live up to my expectations, as the screen was small, and the resolution looked more pixelated than my computer monitor at home... For the price premium, not worth it, in my opinion. On the other hand, because this is a larger theatre, you will find more variety in its showings, and movies will stay shown for longer periods of time before they're taken off. For that, the convenience is excellent.

Michael Stanley

Good place to see a movie downtown. They are letting it go a bit because it is soon to be redeveloped into condo towers. The theatre itself smelt terrible, and everything is old.

Azadeh Shahrokhi

The Imax theater is huge and awesome

Vincent McMillen

Cheesy, corporate & huge. It certainly feels outdated in terms of style but they update the interior every couple of years. There's an arcade & bar now too! Great pop selection as well for people who need their sweets. Food is shite, as you'd expect - and EXPENSIVE.

Mark B

Clean theatre, good customer service as there was a guy greeting everyone at the door. I went to see the new Godzilla and I'm impressed with the sound and projection, but the seats were alittle smaller than most cineplex. They had regular tickets compared to yonge and dundas that had VIP.

Maryam Fashandi

Very good customer service, we missed the movie, and although we had booked seats, they let us watch the movie in the next showtime! The location is convenient, only 15-minute walk from UofT. Thank you Cineplex, we love you :D

Adrian Bolstridge

This theatre is the only true downtown toronto large cinema (yonge & dundas is badly utilized with a lot of action films being VIP or "IMAX" only, and Varsity is just too small) and may or may not be demolished for condos in a few years. The escalators rarely work when I'm there but they seemed to spend months "fixing them" in the last year. The recent addition of the VR lounge thing moved ticket kiosks upstairs; coupled with some other additions the theatre is a death trap on busy days because the choke point is so narrow. It honestly was a better theatre 10 years ago. As a theatre itself I'll say it is good. The IMAX is still amazing. Seats are comfortable enough. I haven't got food here since the original stores left. Man I miss New York Fries and Pizza Hut. Seeing as it's literally the best option for Downtown Toronto most of the time it serves its purpose. Another Cineplex is desperately needed downtown though to bleed off some of the insane weekend crowds; especially if Scotiabank is getting torn down. Seriously put a Cineplex around Dufferin Mall or The Junction.

Pedram D.

Good location and good movie options. One of the escalators is almost always broken; doesn't seem like a well kept building. And no Yo Yo ice cream :( . A travesty !

Celeste Sinclair

They have kept it very clean throughout the pandemic and I felt comfortable going back to the movie. I also love the escalator up, it's insanely long!

Danny De Paola

Imax theater was super warm, and the sound was way too loud. Service was fast. Employees super polite.

Peter James Christian

Mostly use this theatre for its Imax screen...but it's a REALLY GOOD Imax screen! Like, you can see Samuel L Jackson's eyelids in startling detail. Customer service has always been really dependable ????

Dale Lutes

Imax and 3D immerse you in the movie. Comfortable seats. Good screen. Ample selection of movies. Went at 1030 pm so liked the late option after enjoying the summer sun.

Future T. Concepts

Place looks small on the outside but theatres were decently spacious. Walking distance from many amenities makes it a good stop to catch a movie.

Paul Wuertz

They lock the front doors shortly after the last movies of the night start, so don't show up late. The theater isn't quite "run down" but it's going to be demolished for condos and you can see signs that they haven't been investing in it, like how the ground floor ticket desk is now a VR arcade.

Allison Fraser

Do pop in to see the Star Trek ships hanging from the rafters on the ground floor, including a green Klingon ship (pictured). The seats are comfortable and recline. Sight lines were good even when on the far left side of the theatre. The screens were clean and the movie was projected well with no flickers or bits of dust apparent. Be prepared for quite a hike up the stairs. I’ve been here a few times and have not experienced a working escalator. There is one elevator. The regular snack counters in my last visit were unimpressive in offerings and quality of service. The pop freestyle machines are a nice touch. The popcorn is served dry and there are self-service ‘popcorn topping’ stations. I did see others in the theatre with interesting food but I didn’t find it.

Blaze Cada

a lot of movie theater locations now a days serve alcohol but I feel like this location was one of the first, they have a entire bar area so you can sit and order drinks while you wait for you movie. makes it really easy when your on a first date and didn't think of anything else to do, could just have a quick drink and conversation while you both wait

Amber Evans

This theater is more central to downtown and is really the only option unless you want to go more east towards the theater on Yonge and Dundas. It's been great every time I've been there. They are doing some renovations right now on the main food area but they have another placed in the back. Great place and great movies!

Nicolas Aldea

The space is clean. The movies are loud. They sell booze. Food is still wack and too expensive for what it is. Will continue to go and will continue to sneak in food.

Scott Damery

I saw the new Bond movie in IMAX. I forgot how good the big screen was.

Archana Sahota

The theatre is average as compared to the Yonge- Dundas Cineplex theatre. The food at the sit down restaurant is the worst food I have tasted in Toronto. Don't waste your money at this restaurant. There are so many restaurants close to this theatre, you can go anywhere on King Street or Queen Street, but avoid the restaurant at this theatre. The only thing edible at this place is popcorn. The server was really nice and apologized about the quality of food they are serving. All the food which comes out of the kitchen is microwaved and not fresh. The lines to buy the tickets at the second floor were crazy. They have closed the ground floor area and there isn't much room on the second floor. Before the movies they show too many commercials, may be they can limit that to 2-3 mins instead of 15- 20 mins. The whole theatre needs a major renovation. They need to add more kiosk to buy tickets, better food and have clean washrooms and fix the escalators.

Thomas Grainge

Awesome theater downtown. It doesn't have the best screens or sound in the GTA, but it ranks high, and there are LOTS of movies playing. I like the bar/lounge area which is licensed.

Sydney Eatz

I attended a private screening for the Academy of Cinema and television at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto and saw the Man who knew Infinity. The seating is super comfortable and the climate control was perfect not to hot or too cool. The leg room was nice and there wasn't a bad seat in the theatre to see the screen. Getting to the theatre is a bit of a trek going up the elevators, but overall a great experience. - A Richard Trus review

David Skinner

Nice theatres, actual IMAX screen, and they have a cool VR experience setup downstairs. Unfortunately the escalator does seem to act up a lot.

Maitreyi Viswanathan

Great theatre, good service, the only reason I give it four instead of five stars is that they really really need to do something about the washrooms available for women. A grand total of seven stalls (or something like that) between two bathrooms is not enough in your main theatre area. The lines are always atrociously long, and god forbid one of the bathrooms is out of service (like it was the last time I was there) and the venue is hosting a part of a festival so there are even more people there. I'm not even sure if there is a third washroom that is in a different location, staff have never pointed anything out to me so I'm not sure if it's there and I am just missing it, or if that is really all there is.

Paul Valanne

Auditorium 4 air conditioning was broken tonight. They did not forewarn, just ran the movie as usual. Hot, sweaty and smelly. Otherwise a nice cinema.

Sohaib Hassan

Love the theatre and the staff. They have great food options but the only vegetarian option is Cheese Pizza. I really hope they add more Vege/Vegan products.

Chandu Andhe

Too many stairs to climb but great ambience.

NELS NELLIS

I just really enjoy that theater it it well located and not overpriced like yonge and dundas with their vip and 3d gimmick

Sherman Lee (Work)

Great seats. Was there for TIFF. Waited outside in line, they lead us into the theatre... No chance for popcorn or drinks. What's with the restrooms? You have to go up a flight to get to them. Minus 1 star for a stupid layout.

Bill Malyk

The prices are so high that the theatres are empty most of the time. I remember a time when prices were so perfect that this place was busy on Wednesday matinees! These days, even a new popular movie has barely a dozen people going the week after release. Very rude staff here, very dirty washrooms. The escalator has been broken for months now. The seats and floors smell so bad. The pop from the machines taste stale and watered down. You can easily spend $30 a person and leave feeling like you got ripped off. Arcade needs an update too.

Varunen Sreekantha

Great space. Easy to find. Smaller theatre but much better maintained. Only reason I didn't give a 5 was because the staff all seemed to redirect or not want to do their job and actually help with concerns.

The Underground

This is the best theatre in all of the GTA - right across the street from anything you can think of. Maybe grab some food after a movie no problem everythings right there. The staff are great and once you go it'll be hard to go anywhere else because I know for a fact you'll miss that mind blowing escalator.

vaibhav gupta

Nice and clean theater. Following all covid precautions

Jim Thibault

A good location to watch a film downtown

Mr. H

Clean, organized, and the quality of picture was good. However, the first 10 min of the movie's sound was off and they didn't start the movie over or offer a refund. Went to see Venom.

Siva Kris

Much better cinema experience than the Cineplex at yonge and Dundas square

Deeraj Shetty

It is a good theater in the heart of downtown. Tim Hortons and lot of food options nearby. Only problem is seats are smaller than other theatre and you will be conjusted.

Alexandra Cohen

I love this theater. First they have alcohol, you can never go wrong with that. Second it's a whole experience. Once you get there you have the huge looming staircase and huge elevators. I've been there 2 times for events a couple of classes and obviously the movies and I've been going there for years. They make changes frequently but they're always getting better.

William Pitcher

I have given this place five stars because of it, along with Cinesphere, being the only IMAX Laser screens in the Greater Toronto Area. There are three major IMAX formats -- IMAX Film, IMAX Digital and IMAX Digital Laser. Digital uses two 2K projectors. Digital Laser uses two 4K projectors. Example: We went to see Dune which was shot on digital. The film had an hour of scenes in the full-height 1.43:1 aspect ratio while other IMAX theatres used the 1.90:1 ratio. When a special film comes along and it is shot in IMAX Digital -- see it at the Scotiabank Theatre.

Barany Andrei

I like to come here even if I live pretty far uptown. Great location. It's a really nice place, and IMAX is great

Bryan Birn

Great theatre, but usually theatres have compost and recycle bins outside of the theatee doors now. The last two shows I've seen here didn't have that. I hate using the garbage for what doesn't have to be

Elisa Abarca

Was here during tiff, it works be nice if there was numbered seating, but obvi that would cost$$. Just sucks to have to arrive early and line up to get a decent seat... Otherwise the place is decent, bathrooms could use more tlc

C H

Movie was excellent but movie confection prices are getting absolutely absurd. 4 dollars for a Dasani water bottle is a little bit unreasonable.

Katya Potapova

I love coming here to see movies. I have been coming here for many years, and this movie theatre has great seats and a good selection of movies. I am excited for some of the new movies to come out so I can see them here!

Dean Cowan

Good movie selection and various Showtimes for each. Has comfy seats and big theatres. Concession prices are absurd and the staff is pretty ineffectual in my experience, but it's in a convenient spot and they get all the blockbusters. This is not a cheap theatre, but it has special Tuesday prices which are more reasonable.

Isabella J

Good theatre one of my favs

Michael Tran

Clean theatres, sound system seem a bit off. Food was decent for what it is. Could be better and prepared better for the price they charge, but it's within reason considering it is a movie theatre institution

Ian Worling

Great auditoriums with steeply tasked tiered seating, large screens, and good sound quality. Along with the Bell Lightbox, one of the better places to see movies in Toronto.

Saifur Rahman

Location of the theatre is great as it's in the heart of Toronto's entertainment district. However, I'm very disappointed in the amount of kiosks they have for ticket collection. I've been late to a movie due to long lines to collect a ticket I've bought online. Cineplex needs to allow customers to enter the theatre directly by showing the barcode received on the phone. This will save paper, hassle and improve customer service.

Jonathan Lemus (Jon)

Very nice Theatre to go to it's great to come here with a date and or with Friends the auditorium's are also very big and the sound quality is very astonishing I would highly recommend going to the theatres early during the week rather than late at night because it gets really empty in the day

Mark Rose

Cheap Tuesday movies are great! Went and saw the Korean film " Parasite". Awesome movie just sure how I am going to sleep tonight thinking about everything in the movie.

Ruth C

Typical Cineplex with a good selection of food, including a bar, usually showing the latest popular releases. But watch out for the stairs! So many stairs! Even to get to the washrooms! Do not recommend for anybody with mobility issues. (Yes there are escalators and elevators, and a separate "family" washroom on the main floor, but that can lead to waiting and if something breaks you're SOL so watch out.)

Tyler

Like any theatre except with a 10 min escalator ride to the top. If you're looking for a place to train for the CN Tower climb to the top. This is a good place to start. The VR looks interesting!

Mario Rigby

Have been coming here since my teens (that's nearly a decade ago) and I find that subtle changes have happened slowly over time. I'd love to see some improvements to the screens, otherwise they've done a great job at keeping up with the times.

Jaber Alaloa

It's one of my favorite movie theaters. It has a largest theater rooms. I ingoy my time every time I go there

Aaron Del Monte

The best IMAX screen in the GTA. It’s HUGE, and if you’re watching 3D you’ll wanna be in this IMAX auditorium displaying with their special laser technology. Can’t beat it. If you wanna watch a film in the best quality, you gotta come here!!

Julie Beaugrand

The theater itself is great - comfortable, spacious, state of the art. Would note however that the escalator is literally ALWAYS out of order. The main reason I'm giving them only 3 stars though is the movie selection. They offer pretty much only action very mainstream films, those films remain for months with little new to check out. If this could be improved would be a 5 star rating in the blink of an eye.

Rula B. Morcos

This is a big theatre in the entertainment district. There are many options inside and around. They have a small games area. The IMAX experience was great. Thanks

Bill Dimitroff

I don't like that I have to pick up my hot dog at a different counter than my popcorn. E-tix are good and the theatres are nice. The escalator was broken once; nightmare.

Mobeen Khan

My favourite theatre, super close to work. They have about 16 theatres, so are able to accommodate different show times. I love the Imax theatre especially for watching all the superhero movies. Hope they get a 4DX (like Yonge and Dundas cineplex) soon, that would be awesome

Harish Kumar

Visited Last week Watches Three Billboards. The Auditorium was small and screen was not that big .Once the seats are reclined there is no space to walk.No legroom.Nobody cleaned the hall from the last movie so there were popcorn and drinks all over the seats and floors. There is a big flaw when we receive food.If our Hands get full of food from Outtakes then we have to get in line for the drink machines to fill up .with so many people there was no space to keep the food.Overall ,It was not a good experience .

Richard Demers

I generally like this theatre but the last few times I've been the escalator has been out of service. Anyone who has been there knows it's alot of steps to walk. Last time I went they ran out of popcorn toppers. The theatre was uncomfortably warm and I was sweating. The building is currently under construction.

Wynneth

It seems as though a lot of people don't like this theatre. I didn't have any issues. Right when you enter the building there is the rather intimidating set of stairs you can attempt to go up or maybe you feel like the escalator is more your thing. The stairs aren't that bad though ;). Upstairs you have the option of not speaking to another human to purchase your tickets at a machine or even on your phone. However I found that the staff that I got my tickets from wasn't that bad. He helped me with 2 free admissions and using my gift card. We didn't purchase any food from the concession stand but kinda regretted it in the theater when we could smell the butter wafting off other people's popcorn.

Erik Z (SuperTornado999)

An awesome cinema with huge IMAX screens. Friendly staff, nice interior decoration, and great snack offerings at the counters.

Tiffany Cariaga

Great downtown location with lots of movies to choose from. Has the longest escalator. They also have the new Coca Cola self serve machines where you can customize your drink! One of my favourites!

Wayne Andrew

Favorite spot for a movie night out.

Gretel Villegas

We went there for TIFF. The theatre was too high for my liking. But their concession was good.

Yousaf Amir

Largest IMAX in Canada (Full Format) and one of the first with IMAX VR experience (15 minute sessions). It is pretty good for most blockbuster films from the likes of Marvel, DC and more. The area is a more high end with decent to fancy restaurants and bars/clubs nearby.

Adib Chowdhury

Impeccable service with extremely friendly staff. Theatres are well kept and service is quick and accurate. Interior design is one of the best Cineplex theatres, and the location is great; the heart of downtown.

Luis Aguilar

Nice place to watch a movie. Snacks are Ok but it is impossible to get a nice food in there. Escalators are often broke which is annoying given that it is like 4 stories high.

John F

As the other reviews mentioned, this is definitely one of the best theatres in the DT area… they have the big movies but I wish they have more time slots available

Keith Wucher

Went to watch Rogue One a few days ago. movie was great but any canteen items are highway robbery. Im a big guy at 6'4, 220lb. These seats just dont cut it for tall humans.

Jason Harder

Great experience seeing the matrix 4 here on premiere night !

Neville Ross

This theater is great for having IMAX, as well as for having a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, plus for also letting you drink alcohol (beer & cider) while you watch a movie. The atmosphere is amazing, and feels bold and alive. I will always watch movies here, no matter what.

Parmis Meshgi

Very well organized place with good selection of snack and drinks. They have different experiences like AVX or IMAX and is not very crowded.

Alexandre Dumontet

Slowly losing its beauty as it is showing signs of aging but always a good place to find good movies, good popcorn and best of all, self serve soda machines where you can enhance the flavor of your favorite soda. Imax and D-Box theaters are awesome and well worth their prices.

Christine Andreasen

I have been here a few times before and the place is always a joy. They have recently added a VR section which is cool but I have yet to check it out. It is on my to-do list for sure. There were doing some fixes but the place was still mostly navigatable and very clean. I would like to see the fancy reclinable chairs in the future but other then that great. I had food that day as well. Sadly one of the 100 flavour pop machines were out of ice so it was warm. But that's a minor thing. They had old one cheese for the nachos but having the salsa reignited my love for salsa and I had to go out and buy more chips and salsa on the way home.

Mike

Pretty solid theatre. The escalator is wisely long at the entrance. Everything else is as you’d expect. Decent amount of bathrooms. That has to count for something right? Gets busy at Friday nights but evenings are fine. It’s a theatre. No parking though. For transit folk mostly.

Luis Barinas Giudicelli

I am new to the City and I have made my mission to visit all the movies places until I find my favorite and so far this Cineplex has won the contest. I generally less busy than other cinemas and the overall feeling is better.

Crystal Watts

Most fave cinema! Always friendly accommodating staff, convenient location, perfectly clean and cozy inside and great food/refreshment options. I always especially love running the lonnnng stairs up (to justify the fatty food) and back down (to burn off that fatty food (

Nun Nil

Very quiet as of December 2021 which is nice, I got a standard ticket cause it was the only time that worked for me. Despite that, the sound and picture quality were still great. Can't wait try other format next time. I heard Dolby is great.

DotA 2 Adventures

Its been months already sincs theyve had those escalators out of service. Although they have access to elevators, its quite small and can only carry a few people. This cinema has no VIP like the one on dundas and yonge. However, they do offer unlimited access to beverages. I usually fill up my cup before and post cinema. Parking spaces are available nearby although it can be expensive. There are other places to go to. Marshalls is nearby and a varierty of restaurants nearby. Access to public transport is nearby (Streetcar stops are a few blocks away).

Brian Yoshida

When buying tickets we were told that social distancing measures would be in place with a seat separating each party. When we arrived however there's were people sitting in every seat immediately next to each other. Everyone we talked to in the theatre was also surprised as this change was not communicated properly.

WizWar100

Good environment to watch movies, they have a small but fun arcade area to play, movie selection is decent but sometimes since movies don't show up in this location. Food concessions are as usual of most movie places; overpriced and should only be bought if dying of hungry and my recommendations for value is the nacho by itself. Drinks are just too costly.

Shaharyar Khuhro

Good location, close to subway and universities. However, the lower hall where tickets are purchased is a little tight sometimes with all the people. Otherwise, upstairs it's a pretty standard theatre. The theatre halls are huge, so if you can't climb a mountain, try sitting in the middle somewhere. Have fun at the movies!!

Anthony Soung Yee

The only modern theatre in the south downtown core, Scotiabank is starting to show its age. The IMAX screen is a good draw for big budget and 3D films. Over the years, they've upgraded and the VIP screens are nice too. However, the main washrooms are placed in a bizarre setup.

stylesz Smith

I really like this theatre. They often host good festivals (I.e Hot Docs, Toronto After Dark). It's very nice inside and they have a good lounge as well. A really nice bonus is you can take an alcoholic drink from there into the theatre by just asking for a plastic cup (myself and another guest discovered this recently). The staff are usually pleasant and efficient. They have a good selection of movies and special showings. I would have given 5 stars but the escalator situation could be better. The escalator seems to continually malfunction. It's a lot of stairs to climb up. Sure exercise is good but generally not what you're looking for on a nice night out.

Peter Nguyen

Great location to watch movies. Very spacious and plenty of seating. Not sure why, but the escalators are never working so be prepared to walk up the stairway to heaven.

Elliot Harris

The best place to watch a movie, bar none. It’s the height of the modern moviegoing experience. Immaculate and massive theatres, fabulous promotional events and delicious concessions. The price tag may be a bit above average, but signup for a Scene Card and save by collecting points towards free movies and rewards.

Chris B

This is definitely a flagship Cineplex location. They've got all sorts of crazy frills like a bar, the mix-your-own-high-fructose-corn-syrup drink machines, and an arcade with Dance Dance Revolution (!). Never had a bad experience here.

Omar Alami

Good cinema that was not very busy for a weekend

Neil Sharma

Loved the movie Dune. The imax theatre is simply superb. The steep escalator is fun to ride

Shawn Cage

Was there for the Canadian Premier of the Matrix so thus review is a bit biased based on the circumstances. I had an amazing time but overall it is still like a regular Cineplex.

Justine Villanueva

The building was older than we thought and could use a face lift. During our visit the escalator was under construction and with the elevator being used by pwd, we were left with no choice but to take the stairs of doom (aka the tallest flight of stairs for someone who just wants to sit down for the next two hours). The food was limited and expensive but the staff were delightful. The theatre was decent but had nothing special to offer unlike the Cineplex theatres that offer recliner seats with foot rests.

Rizwan Dar

I have been going to the stator for a very very very very long time. Since the day it was made. I am a bit disappointed. Especially what they have done to the ground floor. It's used to have a model of Star Trek Enterprise and a Klingon ship in battle mode face off. They removed it. I just don't believe it! And if turn the ground for into a video-game arcade kind of thing. First name of the video game fan. But I don't believe it. That's what they did. Once you entered this theater could you use to be a feeling of openness. And a feeding of imagination. You had a list of all the movies in front of you. Which I'm being played. And which are coming. And now we enter the theater and we encounter boxes. Not good. Or perhaps I'm just being nostalgic.

Leo Kaliazine

Great theatre. Large new screens. Takes part in TIFF so doesn't show regular movies during the festival. Has a bar area serving alcohol.

lystra salazar

I am greatful to see the employees take great care in keeping the place cleaned and tidy to enjoy the show. Scotiabank- You're the best

Rez

The only reason that I give 3 stars is because it was SO COLD inside! The movie was an hour and half and the whole time I was thinking about how to keep Myself warm! I had enough cloth on me but did not work!!!!! I was impressed by the number of the stairs ! Cool!

Bryan Duggan

This theatre is unfriendly to films produced by streaming platforms, and refuses to show them during the Toronto Independent Film Festival. This place is subservient to the cinema business and is not interested in celebrating the art of film making if it's not aligned with their commercial interests.

Jay Boots

It's a typical multi-screen theatre. Unfortunately, the theatres are on the upper floor and the escalators are often not working. On the plus side, there is a bar and they have IMAX.

Stan Mach

This theatre is my happy place. Beers are expensive but at least you can bring them into every theatre now. They’ve done a great job here with the IMAX and AVX I will find any reason to come see a movie here.

Jee Jung

A great cinema spot. Pleasantly spacious cinema with inclining seats. It's fair enough for me to say that it gets quite chilly inside the theatre, as it happened both times I have been there and people I went with agreed. I love their electronic drink dispenser with lots of options. Staff were very kind both my visits. There is a massive flight of stairs next to the escalator. Fun to climb up if you enjoy keeping fit!

Deeksha Juneja

It was a decent movie theater. I was not too impressed by the popcorn since I had heard so much about it. It didn't melt in my mouth like a lot of people said it would. It maybe because they didn't make a fresh bag. Overall, a decent theater, nothing amazing, nothing bad.

Ltlight

How can a theatre this big only have ONE washroom?? Terrible

Dassie L

Very bad experience at the washroom. There are only 2 seats/ladies washroom and 2 washrooms in total, which is waaaay less than enough when movie ends, not to mention with TIFF going on there. Heard news saying the place will be demolished. I can't say I don't understand why.

Saad Qasim

Huge theatre multiplex with over 16 cinemas, showing the latest blockbusters, and plenty of entertainment options even if you're not watching a movie. The food options are pretty good too.

Kc Parker

Probably best large format theatre in Toronto. Best pre or post show food options. Very spacious. Loved the IMAX in particular.

Ev Delen

Standard modern theatre. Stadium style seating. Odd concession stand where for some food items you're given a ticket and directed to another counter. Drinks are self serve but outside the ticketed area making refills during the movie a lengthy undertaking. All of the digital gizmos and doohickies of a modern theatre.

Vrushali Mahajan

Really loved the place. The urban architecture and the placement of the escalator is really good. I went for my movie's special screening.

Maria Yasnitsky

A great location downtown. Surrounded by great restaurants. There are several food options inside the cinema: popcorn and drinks, pizza and burgers or a more expensive VIP adult only restaurant. Tickets can be purchased either downstairs on level 1 or upstairs. Info desk available upstairs. VR experience was added recently downstairs for an extra price. Little game room is upstairs. Games are mostly broken but I recommend spending sometime there before the movie. Common seating area available on second floor.

M D (007MMiss)

Generally good. But the crew that came in to wait for the movie to end got a bit noisy while we were waiting for and during the teaser after the end credits.

Heung kong yung

Fire issues in the building yesterday. Take 30 min to resolve the issue. But the IMAX theatre show at 1pm had cancelled ???? bad experienced

Nat S

Great atmosphere. Helpful staff. Cheap parking on weekdays with their voucher. I wish the escalator wasn't broken every other visit.

Quinnie

The movie theatre is completely disorganized now! They moved all of cast members to the second floor where everything is, then changed it up into a IMAX VR... I have tried IMAX VR before and it’s a wee pricey so inquire! But besides it being disorganized it’s a great movie theatre to go to! Highly recommend!

Voice of Azora

I love this place. I always choose this one over Dundas. The best Poutine ever and my personal favourite is pulled pork. And the staffs are awesome not like rude bossy ones. And u can choose ur drink. And the ambiance of the theatre is awesome. A special mention to the long stairs ????

Nicholas Tseng

Great movie theatre, it's spacious and very clean. The escalator ride up to the theatre portion is always a cool experience. The service here is exceptional, if you have any issues the staff are more than happy to help out.

Arash Sanei

Firstly, these new seat destroy my back. The fact the 5 story escalator has been broken for a year is also no good. Lastly, what really killed it for me ... No more popcorn flavours? I am appalled.

Rebecca Sinnaeve

Regarding the sit-down restaurant inside, I would Never suggest trying this because the wait staff are lazy & take FOREVER to come and take your order (either that, or they are terribly under-staffed). You are better off ordering from their fast food menu if you want service & then eating in the theatre. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

_Suhak _6ix

I loved the place it was a really nice experience to have as a first time customer also the theater was a really big theater to watch a movie in yea

Singh Ravinderjeet

Nice place for movie lovers

Am

The layout is a bit crazy but understandable given the location. Everyone trying to funnel into the movie theatres with the snacks/popcorn section right in front is overwhelming on a busy night. Other than that - it’s usually a clean theatre. They serve beer and wine. Would love to see Cineplex add some whiskey and spirits in the future.

Jared Hanninen

If you don't mind riding up what seems to be the world's largest escalator to get to your theatre this location is great, the regular seating reclines a surprising amount too.

Andrew Scadding

Once you're inside, it's a regular Cineplex. What makes this location amazing is the entry way. The stairs are rainbow (plus escalators, don't worry ????) and they go straight up, maybe 4 stories!

Paul Genyk-Berezowsky

It's a Cineplex theater, pretty straightforward. No complaints. X screen is a gimmick don't pay extra for it

Graham Bennett

This theatre has seen a lot of changes over the years. With the Bar that has a Great view it’s even more special. Such a great spot to grab a drink or food before seeing a movie. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming.

Hot Dog

Given the amount of money flowing into this central theatre in Toronto, the general lack of upkeep here is unacceptable. I'm not just talking about how filthy it is (I can hear my shoes sticking to the floor, the bathrooms are disgusting). The facilities themselves are so outdated and poorly tended to. Think basement grunge bar: pee on the seats and floors, huge holes in the bathroom stalls, paint chipping, etc. If I had to describe it exactly: the bathrooms look like the old greyhound station bathrooms in Windsor, Ontario circa 2005. It was the kind of place you might catch the plague or worse. If it wasn't for IMAX lazer, I would not go to this theatre. After spending 40 dollars for a Movie, popcorn and a drink, I expect not to wait 30 minutes in line to use one of the 4 working bathroom stalls on the premises, to be able use a clean bathroom, with toilet paper, that does not look like it's been hacked at by a drunkard with a chainsaw.

Kim Christmas

This place is run by a a lot of teenagers who work in pairs and can’t get anything done. So have fun if that is what you are looking for. Just don’t expect help if a machine breaks or you want to buy anything.

Carey Zesiger

Great theater! Big screens, Imax. Lounge bar...

Alexander Probst

This is a nice theatre, nice seats and pretty clean. Also offer some premium stuff like Imax and 4D or whatever it's called. Edit: Changed to one star because they removed the ability to prebook a seat in regular movies. I used that every time and it was great, can't believe they got rid of it.

Fernando L

Not the biggest cinema but they do play most of the popular movies. The escalators used to die pretty often (and it's a long way up) but lately have been reliable. It's in a pretty good location if you're interested in getting dinner prior to or going to a bar after you watch a movie.

Sri Panchalingam

Best Imax in Toronto good sound Clean good service

Duncan Armstrong (kachunkachunk)

Often excellent selection of screenings for films, and they validate parking for you if you had to drive downtown. Fairly conveniently located as well if you take transit or the GO. Currently undergoing some changes and improvements as of writing, such as new fountain drink systems (self-serve variety, I believe). Mobile phone scanners (for tickets purchased online) are also upstairs but there aren't signs to indicate this - head upstairs to avoid a lineup to the only one at the entrance. Feature screens could be bigger, but still more than adequate. Overall, the viewing and seating experience is consistent with the Cineplex/Silvercity brand - certainly no complaints here. Staffing seemed in disarray for a prime viewing time. Nobody to even check tickets when seeing Wonderwoman in UltraAVX. Concession lineups are almost non-existent in the way that you can't find lines; just blobs of people approaching the counter and asking for overpriced food and drinks. Still, understandable if that's what keeps theaters afloat, and it certainly tastes plenty good and remains optional.

Chuck Maloney

It's definitely one of the cooler Cineplexes I have been to. The Star Trek model ships in the lobby are Iconic. This is a fully loaded theatre, you have a plethora of concession stands for a varity of junk food. The theatre is also licensed so you can order a beer or a wine to take into the show if you please. There are a variety of viewing options from Imax to 3D showing or if your like me you can stick to the classic viewing of no D or Max. It's a bit pricey so I would recommend becoming a scene member, it's worth it if you enjoy going to the movies.

JP Michel

Great place to go catch the latest movies! :)

Pat L

What a great location for a multiplex, it was near Chinatown and close to most public transportations. On the day we were there the escalator was broken and there are many, many steps to walk up to the screens. Maybe because the escalator was broken the place was semi-empty so we got great seats and without people crowed around us. The projector was bright and sound was good. Would go back again.

jude gayan

A nice place to enjoy a movie, interesting deco, picture and sound quality is top-notch in the IMAX theatre, quite a lot of activities to do while waiting as well, would b even complete of there was more food options available in the waiting area

Sherill Chapman

Used to be great but lately it is starting to get a bit run down. I went last weekend and the theatre we were in smelled dirty and faintly of urine. Looks worn out. Never had an issue with a film looking or sounding bad but the cost is starting to get a bit insane especially when you need to watch ads for 20 mins before the movie even starts. Its the same everywhere, but at least if a theatre is clean, the cost and ads bother me less. There were some renovations going on when we were there, so let's hope it's to improve the experience for customers a bit.

name

Really great and big space. The screen was massive. Definitely the coolest theater I've been to. The escalator is long and on the way down could be scary for people afraid of heights. But otherwise the experience was great.

Lawrence Lee

Good theatre, decent sized screen and comfortable seats (non-VIP). Only complaint is the long lineup if you want to buy tickets in person since they closed the ground floor box office. Provides a greater incentive to order online I guess...

Maria Cristina Grossi

Went to see a TIFF movie "Buenas Intenciones". I have been to this theater many times. Nice, clean, organized, at least 12 movie theaters. The bar has a great view of downtown Toronto

Jonathan MacKenzie

Overall pleasant experience. Fairly standard Vineplex Odeon operation. They are licensed now which is nice if you want to have a glass of wine or beer with your movie.

CanadianMAGAgal

Always like going to movies here, easy parking and it’s clean, comfortable seats, stadium raised seating. I saw Bombshell here last night and I saw three movies here on one day during TIFF and many other movies all the time here.

Mark Gardner

The movies are fine, however the concessions are often frustrating, with staff often distracted by each other, the drink machines being out of flavours, or the popcorn being popped hours ago. Sometimes you get lucky, most times you don't.

Dean Sharaz

Ive actually been going here with my girlfriend for the past 10 years or so. I remember when it was still called the Paramount Theatre and there is a very nice secluded parking lot off Widmer st that i go to smoke a joint before the film sometimes. The experience has been degraded since those early years, there is no retailer in there that makes the fruit smoothies as there used to be before, its now all soft drinks all the time. The cavernous interiors are as good as they've ever been and the sound and picture quality seem great. Now there's even a few courteous reminders before the film starts, such as dont kick the seat in front of you and keep your cell phones off. Its a Toronto landmark with the iconic Klingon starship hanging above the escalator as you ascend to the cinemas above. I would go again.

Denis Heraud

Horribly overpriced, and you have to walk up what seems like 5-6 stories to get to the actual theaters after you have purchased your ticket. On top of that the brightness of the projector for the movie we were seeing kept flickering which was very distracting.

Kimberley Whitchurch

Large and comprehensive cinema complex. IMAX and ULTRA-AVX auditoriums as well as regular. Besides blockbuster films, you can enjoy fast food options, a full-service bar, and a gaming area. Nicely located in the entertainment district. Escalators occasionally out of wonk, but there's an elevator. Wheelchair accessible.

bbt_and_cuisine JC

First time watching a movie at this theater. It is quite large with 14/15 screening rooms. We watched The Matrix Resurrections pre-screening on December 16th. The whole building was decked out to give it a Matrix themed feel it was really well done. Theatre seating was at 50% capacity so it didn’t feel crowded and we were able to keep a safe distance from everyone. Getting into the theater was a bit crowded but everyone was masked and once you got into the room it was fine. The screens are a good size and the sound system is good as well. There is underground parking in the same building which is convenient. PARKING TIP: DO NOT PAY AT THE KIOSKS. PAY AT THE EXIT GATE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. We made the mistake of paying at the kiosk and then tried to exit the parking lot but because there was a huge line of cars trying leave, it took us 45min to make it to the exit gate after the show and ended up having to pay the parking fee twice because we took too long to get out. Or better yet, don’t drive. Since we were coming from outside the city we unfortunately had to drive.

Joseph Nicholson

Great theatres and in a great location, but cleanliness is just never quite there. It's not filthy... But it's just never very clean feeling. I understand it's difficult to do so in SUCH a high traffic area.... Maybe worth having a dedicated cleaning staff on board? The attendants at ticket purchase, concessions and the ticket-tearer were all wonderful with nice personalities! Great job there :)

Julian Peña

Good movies and it Is comfortable

Justin Bautista

Beautiful theatre in the heart of Downtown Watched Star Wars Would recommend to anyone wanting to impress someone special on a date. The escalator up to the theatres is a sweet place to take pictures as well. Just don't get paranoid of falling off the escalators after smoking a tasty joint with your homies outside.

Wilhelmina Tintwhistle

Nice and clean movie theatre. No complaints. The escalator goes up really high so if you're afraid of heights, either take the elevators or don't look down!

Lee Beech

As a cinema, it's fine but I still find the concession stand prices pretty outrageous, if not borderline daylight robbery. It doesn't help that the concession queues are always long and extremely slow.

Marcus Willson

A little quieter than other down town theatres. Also the escalators are finally working which is a huge benefit for those not inclined to take the massive set of stairs. Food is good and service is pretty quick. There is also parking very close to the theater and they will give you a voucher if you park there and buy attend a movie. The new CAR pods in the down stairs lobby are pretty cool, if you head there early it would be a fun event for the kids pre-movie.

Adam IBOURK

I just went there to watch "Elle" by Paul Verhoeven and I was so disappointed by the quality of the screening. It was in theatre #6, and there was a problem with the quality of the film and a flickering light that made the screening very unpleasant. I have been in the cinema before and I didn't have this problem. In any case, I don't think I would go back because I'm not willing to take this risk again, it was really an uncomfortable experience.

Tyler Walters

Best theatre in the city, and they really go out of their way to keep it that way. Decent food selection (mind you, over priced my a large margin), amazing theatres, and often keeping up with the latest trends/technology in movie experiences. Definitely recommend going here if you are debating on which theatre to go to.

William Harris

Nice theater. Always our go to place for new movies. We don't go to many but when we do we go here. Always check to see if the escalator is working or its a long way up the stairs.

Charles Wang

Favourite theater, one of the few genuine IMAX left in the province. Really nice staff

Matthew McInnis (Fundz64)

was a fun time. many choices to eat, albeit pricey, its better worth with many friends. i always choose the d-box movie seats for more leg space.

Balkaran Singh

Greatest Imax experience ever. Highly recommend it to film lovers.

Danny Perez

Clean, orderly and has all amenities you would expect in a movie teather. Concessions products are over priced, like in any other teather. Variety of type of screenings, from regular to Imax 3D.The bar has a fantastic view. Elevators and escalators are often out of service.

Blue. Grey. OM

Busy modern theater in the heart of downtown Toronto. The rooms are large with big screens and cozy seats. Don't go hungry though because the food prices here (and all Cineplex theaters) are extraordinary. Seriously, a combo of popcorn, drink and candy will almost cost you $20. No wonder most people don't go to the movies anymore and Hollywood is still scratching their heads as to why movie attendance is down.

Savanna Hamilton

Always enjoy this theater. Not as busy as the one in dundas square. Has great quality screens/projectors. Staff are okay, they're doing the best they can lol.

Ru Em

I am always here and they haven't been able to get the escalators to consistently work for years... The ticket situation is always confusing lol. Arcade is usually broken as well. Food is normal for a theatre. I like sitting at the bar when I'm waiting and there are too many kids.

Eileen Giles

Those escalators are still terrifying, doesn’t matter how many times I’ve been! But good food selection, love the pop machines with every flavour drink you can think of! The burgers and hotdog was basic, a bit overpriced for just a simple thing. But very big and nice seats, and love the quick easy kiosk for buying tickets.

Nikhil Joshi

The humongous IMAX screen is totally worth the price of the admission. It makes even a mediocre movie worth watching. Amazing visuals and sounds. It's one of the few laser projection IMAX theaters in the world.

Chelsea Dumont

The only place we go to see IMAX movies. The theatre is clean 95% of the time. The only downside is parking and that the IMAX seats do not breathe and the theatre can get very warm.

Anthony Payne

Service at the restaurant initially was poor. We waited and no server came to seat us. We went to the bar and a waitress named Karma or Kama (not really sure which one was her name) simply looked at us, and walked by us as if we didn't exist. Not even a "I'll be with you in a minute" or "I'll have someone to help you". She was really rude. Perhaps having a bad day. Thank goodness Kevin spotted this and helped us. We was an amazing waiter. Food and drinks came quickly and he always checked up on us. Kevin is a 11/10. Karma or Kama deserve a - 1/10 seriously. Rudest waitress I've ever seen.

Nawang Choeying

Very clean and fast.. their watery coke is a joke

Auguste Banfalvi

I would say this is a pretty average movie theater I saw Avengers Infinity war that wasn't very good so that kind of spoiled my mood but all in all of the movie theaters pretty good it's easy to sneak into if you have two other friends with you that's all I have to say about that

Miles Harbord

Seating is unbelievably right because the seats lean back far too much. I spent a couple movies with the back of people's heads in my crotch... Great if that's what you're in to... I'm not into it. I won't go hear for anything other than IMAX now.

James Kong

Always a great theater for movies. Whether it's regular shows or TIFF screenings. Great area too, lots to eat and do around before and after the show.

Gihad Murad

This is my favorite theater in the city, I've been going there since they opened. Their IMAX room is super for audio and video quality. The Ultra AVX rooms are already very good. I'm really sad that the building will be taken down so they will no longer be there in the future.

Kyle McLauchlan

Great theater with a fair variety of concessions options. Ranging from standard popcorn, candies and pop all the way up to fast food fare. Also has beer for those who might enjoy a casual drink. There are a few tables around for those that prefer to mingle before and after with a bar for those wanting a wider selection. The down escalator was sadly out of service the last few times I've been there. They do have an elevator though. Be sure to call if it's nessecary.

Wall-E

This place looks old and tired. No customer service to inquire on tickets need to use the machine. Dirty, hot, humid, the seats had tears in them..... ugh. Not taken care of, sad to see a once amazing theater look lIke it. Surprised at the smaller screens at a full size price as well.

anuj rao

The place is very neat and clean. Great theatre. There are lot of screens including IMAX. I totally liked the place.

Joseph Williams

Visiting from South Florida this movie theater is big but the seating is cramped with very little legroom. I got a leg cramp and couldn't stretch my leg. Had to piss multiple people off and excuse myself through the limited aisle in order to stretch my leg.

Taylor Surman (Simmorill)

Lots of options, but the handrails in the theatres need a really good degreasing.

TJ -

I enjoy this theater quite a bit. First time hitting up a 3D IMAX showing and the projection was bright and visible despite the movie not being the most optimized for IMAX.

Blair Kelsie

Went to an Imax show. The theatre is reasonably clean and the seats are comfy. One star lost for staff just going through the motions and not being super friendly

Farnoosh Brock

Best theatre in town. So many cinemas and excellent seating everywhere. Excellent location. Can’t believe they’re tearing it down to build condominiums. It’s a major TIFF venue which is a 45-year old tradition in Toronto.

Andrew Lian

Visited this location because it was the only theater playing the movie my daughter wanted to see. My only complaint is that the theater didn't have the reclining seats. Also quick tip the parking attached to the building is affordable and depending on the day or time the theater validates parking.

Josh Strachan

Good smooth experience as expected. Nice to see the very hands off approach as we exit the more serious parts of the pandemic

Justin Gonsalves

Really nice cinema in the downtown Toronto area. Nice screens, AVX and IMAX screens and a nice lounge. The lounge also serves liquor in case you feel like a pint, wine or a shot before or after your movie. Obviously you cannot bring the booze with you to the movie. Highly recommended.

Devender Butani

Awesome theatre and wholesome experience.

David

Great atmosphere and customer service

Dwight Brown

Good place to watch movies, the food was good too and the staff was friendly. I also liked the cinema rooms/auditorium; the seats were comfortable and the rows appeared clean.

Faran Moradipour

Overall pretty good! The pizza/hot dog area is ridiculously slow, and there's been times when no one has come out to serve for fifteen minutes which is especially frustrating when your film is starting soon.

Gourav Srinivas

I don't understand why the IMAX speakers are so loud! It could be better..

Kate Ruby

This is a great theatre in the heart of the downtown. The IMAX theatre is really nice and there are other specialty theatre experiences as well, there is a spacious bar area with huge windows and a great view, lots of concession access, you can buy beer and wine to take into your movie, there is underground parking Monday to Thursday after 4 pm and all day Sunday which costs $5 with the Cineplex validated rate.

Mark Robinson

There is probably more pitch in the back row of a budget airline carrier. So little space, the guy in front of me was basically reclined into my lap and kept gnashing my knees anytime he adjusted his position. The seats shouldn't recline at all if they are going to be this close together.

Tracy Q

So many memories at this location. The layout is interesting, as it sits up high on top of the Michael's craft store (previously a beloved Chapters/Starbucks hangout). Customer service is good. Only complaint is the bumpy ride up on the escalator. You feel sick half way up. I've taken the elevator the last few times instead. It would be nice if they made use of the concession stand right by the movie theatre entrances....or make better use of that space with more lounges. They usually have a good selection of movies here it's in a good location of the city, with lots of restaurants nearby in case you get the munchies.

Mark Crowe

Just saw Dunkirk in Cinema 1, hottest day of the afternoon and the a/c was broken and they knew yet still sold us the tickets then another 30 on popcorn combo so little choice but to swelter through it. Staff were polite and understanding offering a refund on the ticket price but by then it was too late. This use to be a good theatre but it appears it's day is over.

Jake Ochoa

One of the nicest theatres I have been too, of course being in Toronto and all. The staff is friendly. Plenty of screens and the Imax is amazing. And the new VR section when you walk in is interesting and worth checking out.

Alex U

No other theatre in Toronto has a better IMAX screen than this place. Other Cineplex locations may say they offer IMAX but it's not the same. This is definitely the best location to watch a big action movie or something with lots of special effects. I would also like to give a shout-out to Peter who I believe is a supervisor or manager at this location. We realized on our way out that we lost a pair of earmuffs in the theatre. The usher was kind enough to try and help us look for it but we had no luck. We had given up and were already leaving when Peter came to get us after the usher had called him. He reassured us it was worth taking a second look, and low-and-behold, only a few minutes later he found them for us! Thank you so much to Peter and to the usher for going above-and-beyond to help us. It's this type of excellent customer services that makes you want to come back again. :)

Priscila Garo

Stairs: good exercise :P but the Imax theatre is really good. What to improve (if not being a condo): washrooms on the main level. Seats on the inside while people wait for their movies.

Tabitha Trombley

The main food area was down for cinstruction, as well as the escaltor to go down amd the lines were quite extensive with an untidy and borderline unusable bathroom for the ladies... hope the renovations are done soon and the place gets back to a regular upkeep schedule!

Vishal Kulkarni

Jungle Cruise 3D could have been a better experience. I felt sound and overall picture quality not so great, sorry. I had watched this movie a day before in Yonge Dundas Cineplex IMAX and my experience was much better. In terms of sound and picture quality. I thought 3D would be better but not in this case. Anyway. Chairs, access, parking, staff, washrooms all are great so I am not going to judge just by one experience, will try again few times. Because sometimes it's mood, time of the day and what not, so. I want to be absolutely sure. Thanks for the overall experience though.

Vinay Babu

The overall experience was good but the screen has be stretched out tightly.it have wrinkles all across the screen in auditorium 2. Its not that clear in 3D experience. Please clear it.

Anna P

I've been going to this location for two decades now and I always loved it. I was back yesterday after about a year or two break, and I've noticed some changes - the space on the ground floor belongs to another business now and the box office was moved upstairs. I have to say that the very reclining chairs are not such a great idea: my friend had his legs constantly squished by the person sitting in front of him who kept reclining. so it seemed that this only works for the person who does the reclining but not a person seated behind (just like on a plane!). I love the soda fountain and sparkling water being available as a free option to regular flat water. there is also a decent selection of beer. the sounds was good, the big screens are awesome! I was a bit disappointed that there was a light visible (behind the screen) and it was quite distracting especially during the darker scenes. the staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming - I had a problem with my scene card and they helped to sort it out. I have noticed that there is a notice with a big condo tower development planned for the location, so I am worried that the cinema will close down. it would be a pity!

Vic Gedris

Went to Sunday afternoon show, so it was very quiet. Great screen and sound, and very comfortable seat. Snacks very expensive, but I guess that's everywhere now. About $30 for two popcorn, two drinks, and one candy. Popcorn was good, but topping not so great.

Joshua Sampang

• Good theater, and clean. IMAX is the highlight of this theatre. • There's also a bar and arcades while you wait for the movie. • You can buy a beer here, and bring it inside their theatres. • The only thing is that, you might need to workout a long way stairs when elevator is down.

Armon Rouhani

Great theatre, and one of the few with a true IMAX screen. Convenient downtown spot, and features the majority of blockbusters you'd expect. Lots of restaurants nearby to grab a bite, and there's food and coffee spots inside before you get into the theatre. Overall, one of the better Cineplex locations!

Nicolas St-Amour

Great location, good selection of films and first class IMAX theatre. This theatre has one of the few laser projection systems for IMAX in Canada, and easily the biggest screen around. Mix your own drink to your liking with Coca Cola Freestyle and enjoy. I very much enjoyed my last trip.

Aayush Batra

Imax is very good.... Normal/standard screen experience is bad. Saw Dune in Imax and No time to die on the normal screen. Dune experience was 100 times better.

Onil Patel

The best way to see a movie. The food keeps getting better. The soda fountains are really cool looking and have some options you don't see anywhere else. the AVX theatre is huge and the sound is amazing. It's nice to see the arcade games hanging around. And I love that they still have a the big Star Trek ships hanging in the lobby.

Ruhan R

Great theatre for downtown residents. Good service. Plays all the big names, good number of screens. Some touches I haven't seen in theatres I was used to growing up-Has a cool lounge area and they sell beer at the gates. Has one of the longest escalators you'll ride downtown. One time they oversold a show but they handled it well.

Sid Choudhuri

Excellent, centrally located theatre with several IMAX and IMAX 3D screens. Self-serve kiosks are available as well as a bar and arcade. The only problem at this location is the very steep, very long escalator joining the ticketing level and the actual theatre. Often out of service, walking up and down is dangerous.

Stephanie Yim

Watched the matrix last night. They've shut down the concession stands to dissuade people from removing their masks and they say they have protocols to ensure proper and thorough cleaning. HOWEVER, once in the theatre, there is nothing stopping anyone from removing their masks. Which is what probably 30% of the audience did immediately. No one came in to reinforce this and there's no spacing between rows/seats. Pretty disappointed and definitely not going back to theatres for the next little while.

Rkv tycoon

IMAX experience was to be expected - good sound, picture, etc. Theatre is a bit "stuffy" and cramped for today's standards (especially when it's about half full). People had to get up a few times during the movie, which is understandable, but because the seats/space are so tight together, you end up getting a butt and/or purse in your face from time to time. Which is disruptive for the enjoyment of the movie. If you like the IMAX experience, it's worth it. But for us, rather just go to a more spacious cineplex or landmark. Despite being downtown, we assumed parking may be free for movie-goers but due to the time, we had to pay $16 for underground parking near the theatre. I believe if you go at a later time, parking is only $5 or they may give you a free parking voucher (not sure though). We bought a popcorn + drink combo. Kind of disappointed that the popcorn they gave us was pre-sitting in a bag (even though there was no line at the time we bought the food). Part of the fun experience (for us) going to a theatre, is to see the fresh popcorn being popped and/or scooped for us (rather than just sitting in a bag in a warmer). Just a personal preference.

Matthew Potter

Going to the movies has become painful over the last decade. The customer service and quality of space is clearly why I prefer to stay at home now. I used to love it but clearly the studios forcing their restrictions on theatres have brought the industry itself to a stalemate where they've needed to cut costs everywhere, including the buttered popcorn.

Karen T

Came pre covid and aswell as after. Staff have always been fanatic here and you can tell your safety is a high concern. So glad to see it back open!

Diwaker Dabral

I've been here often whenever I've wanted the IMAX experience. This is one of the real IMAX experiences as it has the appropriate (bigger) screen size and seating area. This is definitely one of the best Cineplexs in Toronto and it offers a variety of screens for watching movies even in other formats. I'd recommend it to anybody who wants to have a good movie going experience.

Dorea Reeser

Why are the elevators always down? Don't go here unless you're fit enough to walk up several stories of stairs! Nice, large and clean theatres, lots of food options, and for folks into soda, you'll love their soda bar.

Viktor Kral

The entire space is very modern and somewhat futuristic. However, the seats were not really comfortable as they move freely as you move creating a constant fight between you and the seat. Would expect much more when it comes to comfort from a modern place like this. (Regular screen)

edward chin

All seats have great views of the screen, but some are too close for my liking. Check to see if both escalators are running; coming down is hard on those having bad knees. The elevator was not running and only one escalator was running the last time I was there. Walking backwards down the stairs is easier on the knees - in case there is a film you really need to see.

Sunny Evans

Love this place!!! The escalator IS, WAS, or WILL be broken so keep that in mind. Other than that it’s pretty much a cineplex. Has those programmable coke machines (peach sprite is the best pick). Don’t make a mistake with those things. Like Dr. Pibb is a mistake. I fixed one of the toilets here once. If you get out of a movie and there’s a queue at the washroom there’s another one down the hall.

Marcel Conrad

I like the selection of movies and the availability of resonable formats. By that I mean that not every film needs to be watched in IMAX or 4DX or the loudest sound system possible. At the Scotiabank Theatre you can watch them for an acceptable price, not overpriced VIP+ or something. As of August 2017 their escalator is still broken and under construction and that's going on for months now. It is quite inconvient and inconsiderate because the stairs become narrow when it's busy and you have to climb up two or three levels.

B Naylor

Screens and sound are amazing, but the place is a bit of a dump! The escalator is broken every time I go and it's a massive walk up to the theatres... bathrooms are super small and crowded and the theatre seats could use some attention: the arms on many of the chairs are gross, the pleather was all worn off and peeling. Not what I'd expected to get for the price of a ticket and the ridiculous amount of ads you have to watch before a movie starts.

Alfeu Santos

It's ok but you will watch 25 minutes of non-stop ads before they start the movie. I don't know if they do it only on regular sessions, but it is ridiculous.

Taylor Koyanagi

One of my favorite theatres :) love it in here. Spacious and always a fun place to go! They have a little arcade if you're in the mood to play a bit! You can also bring a bottle of water and use the fountain in the arcade to stay hydrated!

Tamiko Fujimura

Some best memories I have in Toronto when I visit around 10 years ago was seeing movies here with my Toronto city staying partner. Now I see they close which makes me sad! Best theatre to see big movie and they have them all!

Paolo De Ciantis

When this theatre was open and fully operational, it was a great place to see films! I never had to wait in line and was always able to find a great seat for whichever film I was watching that day. The facility itself was well kept, clean and aesthetically really pleasing. When open, I highly recommend watching any film in this theatre!

Tadeo Thompson

I've been to those theatre s bunch of times. It's pretty big and modern. They do a good job of keeping it updated. It has a lounge that serves alcohol, a good variety of food options, an arcade and another concession stand behind the ticket-only area for people that need to grab something quickly during a movie. They also have all the modern seating and screen orientations like IMAX, dbox, ultraavx, etc

Y K

As a Cineplex movie theatre like any other, the 2D general admission movies there are nothing special; actually the seats are a little bit old. But the theatre does look cooler than most other Cineplex. There's a VR place. Not sure how the IMAX theatre there is.

Julia Santos

It's so good to be back at the movie theatre. Good service, interesting place, friendly staff, masks while walking around, gradually the social activities are back. Amazing movie, by the way, just the screen had a little ghost line on it.

Z Lu

I was so excited to watch justice league that I dress up like Joker, and lots of people are excited to see Joker, but a staff of the theatre ask me to wash off my make up DURING THE MOVIE just because someone thinks it's weird, which totally ruined my mood and caused me missed some great plots of the movie. You have no idea what this movie means to me, and it is been ruined. And there is no any kind of compensation.

Jeremie Boudreau

I had issues with my ticket pickup and the staff helped me right away! It was nice. The theatre is clean, comfortable, and offers a pretty good viewing experience. Overall this was a good movie viewing experience

Moises A

This theater used to be the best in Toronto... They need proper maintenance. However, for the past several months they keep only one electrical stairs in service. Way too many repairs!! Oh, and unfortunately they have had mice issues several times.

Siddharth Dabas

It's the best cineplex in downtown because of the facilities available and the size of theatres as well.

Frank Roselli

Theatres and audio/visual are still top-notch. But escalators are out of service for a while it seems (2018). And haven't seen any actual staff selling tickets in my last two visits. Long lines to purchase/print tickets. Give extra time when visiting.

Divyank Singh

An atomosphetic enterntainment place to watch your favourite cinema experiences in best visuals and high quality audios. The best part of this is ScreenX.

p koo

Half the time it's under construction so the escalators don't work. Theaters seats not cleaned well. Lots of food options and good sound quality

Katherine Connolly

It is a pretty standard movie theatre. The staff are very nice and I have never experienced many lines when buying tickets or food. More recently they updated their drink fountains to a much larger selection and also now have a bar for alcoholic beverages.

James Chezepock

Great theatre! The staircase to the upper level alone is pretty cool. Well maintained seats and imax is awesome. Only downside is the usual annoyance at movie theatres. Cellphones, talking, and kicking sears; none of which is at the fault of the theatre. Perfect for a date or just a fun night with friends.

Emilie H Louis

The best about this cinema is the location with restaurants and transportation near by. For such a big place they have too few washrooms and in some of the rooms the seats are too close to each other. I didn't also find the seats comfortable.

Rachel Day

Totally unsuitable for a theatre. The actual cinemas aren't too bad but the steep stairs are kind of scary, the escalator hardly ever works and there's more steep stairs to get to the washrooms. Fine for short visits if you're not wearing heels I suppose.

Gabriel Geller

Best theater in Toronto! The IMAX is fantastic with great sound and picture quality, and the screen itself is 4:3 to get that amazing full screen experience for those scenes specifically shot for IMAX (which actually take up the whole screen!) Very immersive. Overall, this place is a fantastic theater with very comfortable seats and great selection of films.

Andrew S

Great IMAX theater comfy seats and great dual laser picture

Douglas Belanger

Excellent staff they tried to charge us $3 for the certain theatre and we got it for $2 because it was advertised as two. Show all seven of us only paid $2 each along with our ticket excellent theatre.

Ankit Saini

I saw Avenger's my first movie in this theatre and I just loved it. The 3d effects and the audio is amazing.

Jacky P.A. Tran

Cool theatre - plays movies and everything works. I wish I could say more but as long as they provide the service you want, that's all you can ask for. Love visiting this theatre for most of my movies when I'm downtown.

Robert Hamilton

It's great that there's an IMAX cinema in downtown Toronto. The screen is a bit small compared to newer IMAX cinemas. The audio was very good though. The seats are a bit restrictive, not very deep, but they sort of swivel backwards. The Cineplex itself is okay, nicely organized. It's clean and fun to visit. The self-serve pop machines are a nice addition. The food selection is sort of limited, but a fine assortment of basics. All in all, an aging but reputable cinema that could benefit from a few updates.

Jeremy Clark

Excellent place to watch a film with a friend or take a date. Host theatre for TIFF and great location downtown with lots of great resturants, bars and clubs just down the street. Can take alcohol right to your seat in any theatre room! Food is great, totally worth the cost, but hey you're treating yourself so why not spend a little extra... You deserve it!

andre1998

Loved it. So fun

Frankie Calisto

Sticky floors and all around looks unkept. Alcohol prices are quite high. You're better off drinking at the nearby bars. Noticed a funky odor in theatre 3. Not pleasant. Escalator seems to be under construction on a regular basis. The 3D experience on the ground floor is seriously unnecessary. The ticket sales should be brought back down to accommodate the traffic unlike the new disorganized upstairs POS area.

Jenny Medeiros

Really nice theatre to go to, it was the first I went to in Toronto and I'm glad I chose it. Definitely an eyeful inside and the theatre was clean with good audio, plus chairs were pretty comfortable. Wish they had something to hold the popcorn bags they sell but that's my only nitpick.

Paolo

Heard they are tearing it down maybe in the future. That's terribly upsetting because I've had many good memories going to this location over a decade. Trying to make it up the stairs without being gassed is one of our favourite challenges. Saw the original Iron man here. Still great and keep going here until it actually closes but until then, I will keep watching movies here!

Andrew

A little dated but fun

Jeff Lockyear

It's a big bank-owned cinema, so it looks fine (although the screen had a wrinkle in the theatre I was in) and sounds fine, and the concession is expensive. Underground parking on a Sunday night was $10.

Iqbal Siddiqi

Comfortable seating and large screens. No problem with sound. Overall a really nice theatre.

Z. Cai

This old cinema has certainly seen better days (it looks like they're rezoning the building for condos so it might not be here much longer). Cramped, musty seats which are way past their prime and an small, poor assortment of concessions. A small amount of old ticket machines. Screens which lacked the latest techs. Overall, not too good of an experience. Would recommend watching somewhere else.

Space Walker

Best IMAX experience ever

Ozoz Sokoh

Huge cinema with lots of rooms and options for watching. Lots of food and drink options, lounge available. Can get very busy during new releases - there were 6 or 7 halls showing Avengers End Game same time period. Good vibe.

Bridee Denise Rabey

Very big place downtown so it's pretty easy to find. It's pretty warm in there so beware. Nice and patient staff, had trouble finding my scene card and in the end gave up and she was still happy and patient. Had the coca cola machine so you could make your own drinks too. Has a VR experience on the bottom floor so that's cool

Cathy “Catz Wood” Wood

watched the last Game of Thrones. omg

DoT

Great place really ample theaters and very clean, movie selections can be an issue since sometime they will split releases with the young and dundas location.

Enaiyat Ghani Ovy

We had a positive experience at this Cineplex theatre. First of all, it looks good inside and out. You need to ride long by elevator to reach second floor which is kind of interesting. This is a huge theatre with all facilities. We enjoyed the Star Wars movie very comfortably. The only thing is that the vending products are overpriced and expensive. I would definitely recommend this place.

Eduardo Guzman-Diaz

Amazing staff. Never had I had a bad experience with them. I lost my mitts , they helped me find them. They refunded a ticket when I purchased the wrong one. My only complain is the chairs. Let's be honest, they are comfortable. But they recline too much!!! I had multiple instances where they would hit my knees from the people in front of us.

Surekha Subramaniyan

Nice big theater, food choices bit on the expensive side... The coke fountain with every type of soda is fun. Currently escalators both sides are under Reno so way up is either the very long staircase or a rickety tiny elevator... I can imagine that clogging up pretty quickly during rush hour. .

Van LaPointe

Great picture and sound. Friendly staff. Comfortable seats. Beer. Movie watching done right.

Zefred Zefred

Great theatres, but not always great screenings. Some tech problems that are not always solved immediately because there isnt always a projectionist checking the screen. Concessions are pretty expensive too.

Shane Duquette

The staff are great, they've got a bar to hang out in before the movie, you can bring the drinks into the theatre with you, and they've got a great selection of poutine. Plus, the staff are all very friendly and the theatres themselves are nice. Best theatre in Toronto for sure :)

Coleston Pluzak

One of the <15 places to go in the world to see a movie with a LASER imax projector, and man are they sweet. Made the mistake of seeing an Imax movie at a diffferent theater after going here since they put the laser projector in and was sorely disappointed. They don't advertise it enough but it's a huge deal, for both 3D and non-3D movies. I won't go see another imax film anywhere else again.

w.j. R.

The ride up the escalator from the ticket counter and lobby might be a little disorienting for some, but the theater offers generous services for food and drink, seating to indulging either, and, of course, screens enough that span standard and 3D showings, as well as other enhanced viewing experiences. Located near dining establishments and a short distance from the busier downtown core, it is not without its other nearby attractions: bars and clubs aplenty, as well as a comedy venue.

Adam De Biasi

Great atmosphere and variety of movie room options. Nice bar area for adults to enjoy before a movie and an option on the weekend to buy some alcoholic drinks into the theatre. Fun arcade place for the children as well. And a fun custom coca-cola fountain drink dispenser.

Joel Wiebe

Decent sized auditoriums, nice environment. The escalator going down from the auditoriums appears to have been broken for quite a while. The ground floor appears to be undergoing renovations to add simulation video games or something similar.

Seuth Bouttarath

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO HERE: I always choose to go here vs Yonge & Dundas because it's less crowded to, especially get to of you're coming from the west end and even if not, it seems like a much more spacious location, and has all of the amenities that you would expect in a top class main stream blockbuster theatre in Toronto. Just beware that if your taking the subway to get here, that the closest stop is a couple minute walk away but nothing major unless it's -20°C and you're not Canadian. At the base of the theatre is a self serve setup with a few employees around if you need any help. Then up the super-long-but-cool-looking escalator to reach the theatre level, you'll walk by a corridor of movie displays and posters of upcoming films. There is a playroom with fun arcade games to mess around with if you're on a date, or waiting for you're friends to show up, etc. A couple of different food options over your typical popcorn and candy are available here as well if you want to eat an actual meal. Sure, it's overpriced as you can expect from any theatre in the city, but that's the price you pay for skipping out on lunch or dinner earlier that day smarty pants. SUPER BROWNY POINTS because: One note I'd like to add is that even though the staff aren't very helpful since they are all early teen workers with little to no customer service experience.. which by the way is expected from a typical blockbuster theatre setting.. one time I went there with my big and heavy electric longboard since I was already late to the movie and had to meet up with friends. I had nowhere to store the board, so I asked the gatekeeper for help, she then pointed me toward the front desk attendant, who then introduced me to the manager. He allowed me to store my board in "the back" until the movie was over. I was worried it might get lost or that I wouldn't be able to get it back that night because the movie was ending way past midnight, but apparently the manager is last to leave so it was no issue. He took my name and number, then one of the tiny front desk employees carried the heavy product away. I felt bad for her and offered to move it but it was going into the void, the ubiquitous yet ambiguous back room. I really appreciate that they let me do that, and that's customer service right there folks. I don't know why you're still reading this but just know that this is my favorite theatre in the city and I choose to go here over all other theatres in the city, even though it would be far more convenient to do so otherwise.

Rich F

Nice large movie theater in the city especially if you are looking for IMAX and 3D. Food is expensive which is typical. There's a Starbucks available for those that like their caffeine. The place is well-maintained

justin Gishoya

Lots of space and many self serve booths...if you want to avoid wasting time purchasing tickets this is the place to be. There's a great virtual reality lounge too

Cedric Woo

Very friendly staff, cineplex always does a good job with hiring and keeping their employees happy. I loved the tall stairs leading up to the theatre, not sure if it’s on purpose, but it makes going to the movies seem like more of an “event.” I watched parasite here on a Sunday evening, and there were very few people, so it was perfect!

Dilhum Imtiaz

It was a pretty standard movie experience! Sometimes, depending on which theatre youre in and how close the other theatres are, you can hear the crowds leaving other shows, but only for a minute or two. The long escalators are honestly a very big plus ????

Tanveer Raihan

Liked it. One thing i will suggest to provide escalators during coming down. Because the stairs are really steep and any one can tumble if they loose balance. But viewing experience is great along with the foods. Recommended.

Ann Kenny

It was alright. We were in theatre 9 and unfortunately a couple of chairs we were sitting by were broken. The guy in front of me had his chair pressed against my legs the whole movie and I'm not a tall person. Was really too bad.

Ellie Spanos

Great theatre in downtown Toronto. Wide variety of snacks and treats available at the concession. Comfortable seats.

Vinod S

IMAX screen is dope!! Collect parking ticket when you enter. So while paying you need the ticket & Credit Card. Interesting thing there is no tap or pin, it processes payment just like that after you insert.

Mel Habip

It was a pleasurable experience. The place is very central so it was easy for us to just walk. For others, it is very easy to reach by public transport. The chairs lean back and are comfy. Sound and image quality are superior. The place opens at 12:10 but if you get here early you might want to check the nearby arts & crafts store, which is, for some, a dreamworld.

T. L.

Seems a little worse for wear. Was not impressed with lack of any flavours available at Freestyle Coke machine but the gnat or fruit fly issue at the dispensers added to the overall shabby feel. Comfortable seating and this particular afternoon no crowd for my film anyway.

Julian Gray

Home to the only true IMAX movie going experience. Don’t expect charming original decor but the theatres are large and it’s not located near dundas square. (See my previous review of that awful place)

subhanKar S

You have to watch a film here. with sound effects. the imax screen here is possibly the biggest. lmost three storey tall. there is a huge escalator to climb to the top of the third floor in order to get to the main arena. there are gaming arenas too. they give away special gifts for various films too. you Can play games on screens before entering the theatre. it is pretty well maintained. although i have doubt they show standard films..only imax and 3d i think .

A Dawn

A huge theatre, including Imax, in the heart of downtown Toronto. Services are OK. Snacks and drinks are overpriced, just like any other theatre.

Christopher Chan

Decent place to see a movie. Glad they are keeping up with the latest and greatest technology but the place is looking slightly dated, however it doesn't take away from seeing a good movie on 3d Ultra AVX is the middle of the city.

Amandeep C

Have seen this place go through some great changes over the years. Great restaurants around the area plus the Bar is a huge plus offering good food and drinks. Extremely energetic and friendly staff with great service and the theatres are kept very clean. My years of experience is better audience compared to the other Cineplex theatres. Absolutely recommend it if you are looking for a great movie experience!

Richard Pace

Always one of my favorite theaters n the city. There was some recent modifications that don't benefit or reduce the experience there, but reduced the ambience of the place. The Klingon bird of prey is gone, for example. The lobby pay kiosks have all been replaced by some VR experience that doesn't look at all at home in the space. Otherwise, still one of the best spots to watch a film in Toronto.

Ching Chang

My movie was supposed to start at 3:30. They played ads until 4:00. But other than that, the theatre was pretty good. I wish there were more monitors in the hallway. I went to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home but the hallway didn't have any Spider-Man poster to take pictures with (and there were mulitple Matrix posters). They check your proof of vaccination so be sure to bring it or have it on your phone.

Sara Fargo

Love Scotiabank, but he movie we saw was just God awful so no stars for Tenet. Otherwise always a dope experience. Plus they sell booze.

Brian Yang

Honestly the outside of the Theatre already looks amazing and the inside is just as overwhelming. The staff and workers there are diligent, nice and helpful. I enjoyed every time I went to this theatre to watch movies.

Will B

A theater is a theater, for the most part, but extra points for good location, an IMAX screen, clean washrooms, and mostly comfortable seating. No VIP, which might have been nice, but you can actually buy and drink beer in the regular theaters. Food is just okay. Stairs are good exercise.

Gavin Kurtz

Its a beautiful place! The building is really cool and there is a nice bar in there too. Its a great place and makes watching movies even more enjoyable.

Michael Hale

Out of all Cineplex theatres in Toronto. This theatre was my at least favourite for Closed Captioning service. Horrible half time I go there. They went through renovations and have new things such as VR Movies which is cool. I am eager to return to brand-new Scotiabank Theatre.

Sean Mc

Big theatre with friendly staff..but those escalators have been broken for half a year! Pretty sure you can get brand new ones installed within 4 weeks.

Cli C

They do not space people out, you are sitting right next to someone else. Also you are not allowed to buy popcorn in the theatre.

Vito

Great picture but cost of food is bit high. If you are opening at 12:30pm u think food people would be ready to get pull pork . The staff here are super nice. They go out of there way to make sure u feel welcome.

Ty

One of the best cineplex locations. Building itself and the escalator ride is always pretty cool. I honestly usually have issues once inside the theatre however. People not following COVID seating (had someone ignore seating and sit directly in front of us), some talking loudly during the film. I informed staff and no one cared. I find it happens more often at this location then others. So it’s a good spot, with odd management and a weird crowd it brings.

Radha Rani Siddhanti

Fantastic movie experience.

Rob Baumgarten

If your thinking about splurging for D-Box I'd say it's not worth it. But in general this place is great. Amazing IMAX theater. Decent selection of snacks to much on. I was really hoping they would get the most modern projection equipment that would be about to show Ang Lees movie "Billy Lynns Long Halftime Walk" which was shot in 120fps 3D 4K. A format never before attempted and o let 2 theaters in North America are able to show it (NY and LA). It would be great to see one theater in Canada bring this tech to us.

Aaron G

Technical difficulties delayed the start of the movie. Screen was black for 15 minutes. No staff acknowledged or provided any updates. Everything is overpriced except the beer, surprisingly. At least the escalators were working.

Jeff Glasel

Great theatre spaces but it was very confusing to find where the lines for the food ended since everything is so crowded until you go to your theatre. Make sure to arrive early if you want to get food.

Matthew Kwan

This theater is great! The rooms are very cozy and well ventilated. The soft drinks are refillable unlike some other cineplex's so it was definitely a plus in my books! My girlfriend and I went to watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The staff were friendly and the theater was very clean at the start so it was a great experience for me.

Evan “TheHolyGoalie60” Huggins

One of my favorite theaters in the city. Has a nice arcade to pass the time. The bar is cool and the VR Experience in the lobby is awesome!

T G

Nice place but a little bit too cold in the theatre.

Arthur Morgan

My gf and I when there to watch venom 2, from Mississauga by bus very far, we bought the tickets in advance for 4DX and our f seats weren’t working that day, very bad service and they don’t have icee ????????

Rosani V

I gotta appreciate that they validate parking

nick knickle

Awesome cineplex. Refill machine for pop. Good seats. Clean place and not too far from osgoode station. Also out of all the cineplex i have been to they have a good selection of showtimes either you want something early or later

Noor Jannat

Awesome experience. First movie date after this lockdown. Saw suicide squad in the imax theatre nd absolutely lovvv3edd the experience. Surely will come back.

Christopher George

Sad that Cineplex has a monopoly in cinema. But as far as movie theaters go it's exactly what you would expect. -1 star for sticky floors.

Shawn Batlivala

Good theater. Easy to get tickets and assigned seats. Staff were all friendly. Movie screen was large and sound quality was good. Didn't try concessions, but they looked good as well. Had a small arcade as well. Convenient location of you're staying in the city. Overall good theater.

Anthony Cruz

One of my favourite movie theatres in the city next to the Cinesphere. One of the better IMAX theatres in Toronto given its actually an IMAX theatre and not an imposter IMAX. They have dance dance Revolution in their arcade which is a huge plus

Alex Atkinson

They pay a kid to stand there and say "No Refills". 1. They stop offering free refills on large drinks. 2. The screens are often dirty. 3. They cut commercials between the previews now. Before I could just walk in 10m late and not miss anything good. 4. The drink machines are often out of ice. 5. TimePlay only gives you 50 pts now. 6. TimePlay only gives you the pts if you can connect and play. 7. TimePlay only works 20% of the time. 8. They harass you if you have a backpack or shopping bag. 9. Cineplex bought AMC Yonge and Dundas... They bought it and turned it into garbage. It was the best movie going experience in town. 10. Prices go up, and there's never a value add with the increase. For these reasons, this theater and this company as a whole are bullshit.

Robert James

Really clean, really nice staff. I like how they know that most people use the App now for their tickets and know how to deal with them. The cinema is really nice too! I like going there

Leonardo Ruppenthal

Ascending the loooooong escalator is a thrilling and symbolic transition to a night of entertainment. Great large screen viewing experience. Best place to view IMAX in the GTA. A/V quality is usually quite good compared to most. The lounge and concession areas are a bit congested, but about average for a GTA theatre. Over the past 15 years, I have enjoyed some extremely memorable opening nights here!

hitesh agarwal

The seats are absolutely very uncomfortable. That is little space for your legs in theatre.

Alfonso Viscido

Amazing theatre ! A lot of rooms, 3Ds, imax experience. If you want to have a good time you can’t go wrong with this theatre!

Divya Jain

Super tiny seats in the theatre, no leg room, overall very uncomfortable movie viewing experience. Not impressed.

Kwasi F

This is the best movie theater in Toronto! I saw Wonder Woman here loved it in IMAX. Every big movie that comes out and I want to see on a giant screen and get the best experience, this is my first choice

Adam Pouget

Best screens in Toronto, always crowded which is great when watching a blockbuster. Many shows have reserve seating. Downtown, easily accessible by transit, not so much by car. Lots of good dining options near by.

Meredith Chou

It is a lovely place to go for the movie in downtown Toronto.

Tracy F. Hackshaw

Well located, functional cineplex with typical but plentiful concession options showing only a select few of the recent releases - but on multiple screens, so your odds of missing a movie that you know is showing here are minimal. No VIP theatres as far as I can tell, but there is an adults only bar/lounge that you can relax in before or after the movie.

Link

I love this cinema it's big af just like my This is the males washroom, someone really want world piece they wrote it on the stall, very nice. Had a good time in the stall, thank you, it was a five star experience. Everything went smoothly, especially with that graffiti I feel very safe. Ah, I think I found my inner piece, I feel happy, and I think after watching the movie I'm about to watch, Im going to clap my hands.

Rodrigo Oliva

Probably the best cinema inside the city. In fact, I think it's the only cinema in the whole GTA that has an actual, legit IMAX, the ones that play 70mm natively. Saw The Dark Knight and Interstellar here, both films that had sections filmed in 70mm, and it was amazing.

Lou Lou

I love the VIP 19+ bar and lounge area, staff were super kind. Out takes is available at this location is you want pizza, fries etc. And the fact that they have what seems to be unlimited options to choose from for fountain drinks, with those magical touch screen machines.

Jawney Floros

The staff hassled us about our vaccine records even though we were only going to buy a movie gift pack and not see a movie.

Ada Wong

The theatre itself is getting old, but it does have a real IMAX screen and decent movie selection. My level of satisfaction each visit is also dependent on wether the escalators are working.

niteen kumar

Definitely recommended for movies!

Teal-Rose Jaques

Nice theater, great VIP sitting area with a bit of a view, and space ships hanging from the ceiling in the lobby, what could be bad about it? They have a new VR section on the main floor I have not yet had the chance to check out but looks like a lot of fun, and their VIP seats and in-seat service are both great. I mostly only go to VIP movies anymore just because of how rarely i go to movies and how comfortable they are, even if i don't order anything but some pop and popcorn!

Firas Khab.

Well equiped theater with newest movies. The entrance is 4 floor high escalator that leaves an impression.

Kathryn Raven

Good location and average theatre. The staff are really nice. The infrastructure is getting old and their elevator could use a major overhaul. Better signage for the washrooms would be appreciated so able bodied people could find the ones upstairs instead of using the accessible ones making people with disabilities or those needing a changing table wait.

Naureen K A Patne

Great theater, big halls!

Sara L

Man, been going to this location so much this year. The benefit of this theatre is it's location in thw downtown core and the many screens. Even if it is a big cineplex I have watched some esoteric stuff here (Todd and The Book of Pure Evil movie, TADFF) because there is space to host it. Always been a nice visit here and it is close to Union and a subway station which is perfect for commuting!

Rasif Iftessam

Our fav place to watch movies, has 16 auditoriums, ranging from regular, ultra avx, 3d and IMAX. They also have a VR experience in the ground floor now. Hoping they get the 4d atmos soon.

Emre Can Aydın

The escalator is really steep and scary. Other than that, great theatre, houses only 1 IMAX screen but there are alternatives like AVX or something like that. My go to theatre since it is really close to my place.

Will Moll

Great place to watch the movies I help make... It's a nice theater, but snack bar is expensive. Staff is friendly and the theater seats recline. My theater of choice in the city.

Sangshin Jung

The escalators sometimes don't work. And stairs are steep. It's multiplex theater. I watched Bohemian Repsody. I had really good experience. Staff seems knowledgeable.

ARIEL DIAZ

It's ok, as always food gets expensive but it is one of my fav locations cause they show a lot of the movies and they have the best seats too

Buster Fulton

This theatre is not my first choice on the best of days, but it offered a convenient time slot for a film I wanted to see. Several mobile ticket scanners were out of order, and the line-ups at the concession stands were outrageous. No stanchions to organize the line, so there were passersby and wheel chairs having to criss cross through the traffic. When I ordered I asked for buttered popcorn, the attendant said butter wasn't available as it hadn't melted yet! Wow, I didn't want to hold up the line any longer to get into that comment so I just paid and went on my way. Finally after the movie was over we had to take the stairs down because the escalator was out of order too. Some sites claim it to be the longest in the world to give you an idea of the amount of stairs involved.

Nasif Haque

A very big spacious place that has all the screens Cineplex offers and it has some good places to eat outside where you could grab lunch or dinner after a night out at the movies

Artina Safari

Nice place, but one of their escalators is always broken down, and i mean ALWAYS... Also they really need to install some water fountains. All other Cineplex theatres I've been to, do have a few.

Yandy Zuo

It’s clean, the place isn’t confusing and it’s easy to get to by public transit. It even had vegan froyo! I would definitely go back to see another movie.

Julian Herbert

I really don't have high standards for theatres. Provide some highly overpriced food, a reasonable seat, turn the lights off, play movie. Not particularly hard. Unfortunately Scotia theatre failed to tick the seat box. When the person in front of you reclines there is literally 3 inches between the end of your seat and the top of the seat in front of you, see pucture. This was not the result of a broken seat, all seats are like this. I have no idea how you are expected sit there if the person in front of you decides to fully recline.

Marla Minshall

Good job on the COVID screening and the IMax theatre is beautiful. Had to laugh at the get vaxxed ad that played because you're only in the theatre if you're double vaxxed.

Anand Gopaul

Love this theatre! Nice atmosphere employees are kind and happy! You can grab a drink at the bar inside and carry it into your movie which is nice vs Young & Dundas where you can only do it in the VIP movie area.

Ian Goff

I'm a fan of this Cineplex location, it will be sad when it goes and is remodeled. Though, perhaps they can get some escalators that dont break down so much.

Payam Masjedi

Such an awesome experience. Everyone here are smiling and having a great time. They're helping you happily and energetically. The crew are amazing, the place is stunning and everything is organized, clean and comfortable. Would you need anything else from it? Oh yes, absolutely recommend you to check this place as soon as possible.

J B

First time here and I really enjoyed the place and the movie. It was very clean and the seats were comfortable. Nice stuff and really beautiful design. Will come back !

Alex Augustin

The escalator ride alone is satisfying enough... Average movie theatre. Bad movie choice? Your problem! You can always find the latest Blockbusters here...

Ricky Kim

One of the best movie theaters in Toronto. It provides many movie selections and theaters, with VR gaming experience on the first floor. Went many times and no issues regarding movie and food quality, and customer service.

Sean Simpson

To get from the ticket booth to the theatres, you need to take a very long escalator up to the cinema screen floor. If the escalator is out of service, be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs. I really like the custom coke machine they have here, Diet Coke with lime is my favourite, hands down.

Michæl Petkov

It's a Cineplex. I really object to how they do business. Overpriced concessions and a selection limited to blockbusters is one thing. Having to sit through nearly 15 minutes of adverts AFTER the scheduled show time of the movie is another... And IMO it is inexcusable. Sure, smaller theatres will display some ads for local businesses hut come show time they fade away for the previews. Words can not describe how much I detest going to a movie at a Cineplex theatre. Avoid if you can. I'm sure there's a better option elsewhere in Toronto.

Connor Webb

So a couple weeks ago I saw the Suspiria remake in Auditorium #4 of this theatre. First time I ever been, and when you're going up the escalators it really gets your heart pounding. You step off the escalator and find that you're looking through a glass wall out to the street below. Really awesome view. If only the neighbouring area was equally awesome and you'd have yourself a postcard photo. You go into the theatre and it looks really nice. There's so much going on around you. It's like you're at the Canada's Wonderland of Canadian movie theatres. While the movie was great, there was a hissing noise coming from somewhere around the left side of the ceiling and was very audible during the quieter parts of the movie. Other than the hissing noise, Radio Ga Ga could also be heard coming from the right side because the Queen biopic was playing next door in Ultra AVX. It was so irritatingly distracting that the person who makes up the showtime slates must have a wicked sense of humour and deliberately schedule those movies to have that occur. So ya, I'm giving this place a 3/5. This is more of a review of Auditorium #4 than it is the entire theatre. If Suspiria had been playing in any other auditorium, I might have been able to give the place a 4 or a 5.

Tania R

One of my favorite movies theaters in downtown Toronto. Has nice seats, IMAX, and 3D. Overall i've always had a nice experience here. P.s. There is parking available John st. before reaching Richmond st. You can exit right my the movie theater entrance

Paul Magda

It's best to go on Tuesday when the tickets are cheaper. As they got rid of a lot of the poorly managed fast food franchaises the food offered is more consistent than before. I believe this is one of the first places in Toronto to have a …

Kay Tor

This is one nice place to see a flick, although it is not quite as luxe as one of those VIP theatres. They are licensed ,too, which is a nice plus if you like beer with your blockbuster.

Kay West (PR)

Great location, easy to get good seats. The elevator is small and slow, so plan ahead of you need it on a busy night. Wish there were a greater selection of films playing, similar to Yonge-Dundas location

Mac Peters (Macpeters)

They show the standard box office movies, have some 3d, etc. I remember the place being so hypnotizing to walk through, and now it just looks.... faded. The extra long escalator isn't always working, so you might have a lot of stairs to climb. It's a movie theatre, though. I don't do movies very often.

dan frampton

Take a ride on the world's largest escalator. Over-pay to see a mainstream flick. Over-pay to eat mainstream snacks. Over-pay to sit in a dark room with 100 strangers. Over-pay to keep up with the trends in mainstream media. The staff uniforms are ugly and all romance surrounding theatre is removed. If you only care about surface level trash, this place has everything.

Sunny

It's a great theatre. I enjoyed the IMAX experience and not too many people go there on weekdays in the afternoon! Worth it!

Katherine Tomany

Always assume the escalator is broken and wear sturdy shoes -_- If your attend TIFF or HotDocs be prepared to walk up the emergency exit stairs. I believe there are 3 flights is a cramped space. Best of luck if you have mobility problems.

Julien Falcone

It’s a good movie going experience for sure however I’m not a huge fan of the IMAX experience (not sure if it is different at other theatres) but the sound is extremely loud and also, if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie, there is no way you’re getting out of your seat as they are way to close together and the theatre is humongous. Wouldn’t recommend IMAX if you have some kind of health condition. I think I’m just getting too old for IMAX lol. Prefer regular showings tbh.

Prachy Mohan

Love this theatre for its giant screens. The IMAX experience is absolutely wonderful! For popular movies expect to wait in line to get into the actual theatre. They have both kiosks and a normal booth to get tickets but I recommend buying in advance and getting your ticket from the booth so that they don't sell out.

Grace Mark

VIP admission $19.00 is too pricey for comfortable upscale seating not include food selections from paper menu. Look at admission ticket price for movie admission carefully showing $11.00 and total package is $19.00. Nowhere on the ticket shows "food price is extra cost ordered by paper menu". Question server or speak with Cineplex manager why VIP seating is $19.00 package deal alone not include food items selected from menu selections. Ordinary popcorn and fountain soft drink can be worked out to $19.00 including movie ticket admission $11.00. Be cautious open minded to ask Cineplex manager for clear understanding.

Mabin Antoney Pulikodan

I have been here for Toronto international film festival on week end. The ticket price was high because it was weekend and it's film festival . The theatre give us all the quality to enjoy any movie to the fullest. But there should be a free car parking near the theatre. Paying for tickets and car parking is not acceptable

Areeba Zaidi

Located in the heart of Toronto this is an amazing theater experience The staff there is pretty courteous on the location is child friendly as well Make sure you have a lot of time on your hands because once you get to the cinema is pretty big and you would want to watch a couple of movies there There is parking it's wheelchair accessible The food options are pretty great just like as in any other Cinema The movie may not start on time but do get there on time in order to Play Time play

Bruce Laird

Enjoyed James Bond in Imax - fantastic picture and sound.

Tae San Han (한 태산)

Great venue and location. I do think they need to upgrade the decor in the common areas. They should also improve the food selection. But the popcorn is addictive. I could not stop eating it. I love the soda vending machines. I will definitely come here again.

Aleks Oniszczak

Love the Klingon Warbird hovering over the longest tallest escalator I ever did see. Very easy to sneak in your own munchies and sneaking into another movie looks pretty easy too although we didn't try. Like most movie theaters - very expensive compared to what they used to be!!!

Ryan Meghdies

I was here early in the day and the theatre was humid and nasty. I really didn't enjoy myself. I would give it 1 star but I wonder if it was because it was so early in the day. This was a big deal because I wanted to walk out with how mucky it was. Aside from that it was nice. If I go back during the summer and there's proper ventilation and air conditioning, I'll gladly bump this review.

Shadi Bakir

Great location, big cinema with a lot of Showtime options. Escalators seem to always be broken though. They still have huge models of the enterprise and Klingon bird of prey, which makes me really happy.

Ahmed Coutry

The IMAX at Scotiabank Toronto is absolutely amazing! By far the beat I’ve been to in Toronto.

Sonia Khalsa

I saw the effort Cineplex put to ensure people feel safe while visiting the theatre; concession areas had shields, all employees wore masks, free masks given to customers that don’t have any, distance was enforced between customers, customers wore masks when watching the movie and not eating. That said, wearing a mask for 2+ hours when watching Tenet was not great. I felt congested and claustrophobic towards the end of the show. My friends on the other hand were okay with it, so I believe cineplex’s efforts deserve the 5 stars. However, I will be going to drive-ins instead since I can’t sit with the mask for that long.

Pat Vafiades

Excellent move, felt safe in how they managed Covid protocols

SreenathV

I was impressed by their customer service. My show for Avengers Infinity War was interrupted for a couple of minutes, almost at the end of the show due to some technical difficulties. Not only did they rewind the missed part, but also they gave everyone a complimentary ticket for a bonus movie!!! Yay!

Honest Dave

One of the best movie theaters in Toronto. Lots of screams and food options. They can really handle the crowds on a busy evening. The theaters are super clean with excellent AC

Melkalver Melkalver (Johnny D)

Huge theatre, friendly staff. Very clean and spacious. Expensive popcorn and drink (as any theater these days). They had issues scanning a digital gift certificate I had, so I had to pay cash

Nat

Clean and friendly staff. Good food options and bar.

Sasha Dean

This is my favorite Cineplex location! the IMAX theatre is by far the best of all! Massive true IMAX experience. I wish they could add vegan food options to their menu.

Laurence Smith

This theatre has the dual laser IMAX projector. Great experience.

Cal Dree

One of the better downtown theatres as it tends to have all your blockbusters, sometimes provide parking discounts and usually makes its facilities available to film festivals and support films. It does unfortunately suffer from a long steep staircase and when the escalator is out, even though they have an elevator, it can be difficult for those not as comfortable with scaling dozens of stairs.

Deniss Güzel

Awesome movie theater which also has an arcade. The snacks are ridiculously priced but that's to be expected when going to the movies. The seats recline so that's nice. The 3d glasses were really good as they are very light.

E. Ferguson

Well, we went to see I, Tonya...very good performances and interesting movie Scotia still has only one escalator working. Popcorn was really good. On the whole good theatre.

Sam Abtahi

Headed to the IMAX here because of all the fuss in forums, I can say iv had better! One tip Neve eve sit on the first 10 rows to the screen in IMAX. Will try IMAX VR though, check that out

Atria Vasudevan

The normal screen and imax are good. But screen x isn’t worth it.

Manuela G

Avx and Imax are great but the seats in regular theatres are super tight and the rows are narrow. Just watched a film and the guy in front of me kept hitting my knees with the back of his chair and I was sitting as far back in my seat as I could.

Celia Chassels

Choice of films is excellent. Escalator is often out of service, and it's a daunting climb. They only have tiny elevator. Theatre is comfortable. Snacks outrageously priced, and washrooms are small.

Ali Hussain

This theatre is not the best place to be at on Tuesdays because it's awesome and that's why it's too crowded. The escalator hasn't been working during my last few visits. The screens are pretty good. Service and facilities are good. Not enough movies for kids maybe because I don't see too many kids in the area.

Raddo Raddo

Nice movie theatre! Lots of different movies showed here. They also have 3D and imax vr here too, all of the sets recline and have cup holders. Since its a bigger movie theatre they have some good selection in terms of food that you can buy and they also serve alcohol here as well! Only caveat is that they are a bit pricey, $14/ticket for a regular movie on a Monday night.

Allan Gibbons

New covid restrictions in place, sucks cause its very limited, but staff are coping well and taking the right approach. Friendly and just happy that I got to see the new spiderman in theaters. First trip since the pandemic. You'll have a good time here, even with restrictions.

Aron B.

Of all Cineplex theatres, this one is my favourite. Cinemas are all great sizes and staff are always friendly. Best part, the pop machines are outside the concessions...free refills! They changed the layout of the box office, it is now upstairs. The IMAX VR thing on the main floor seems pretty stupid. $12 for a 15 minute game is insane. A movie is just more than that and lasts a lot longer. Luckily, if you don't want to do that then you don't have to. Just hope the escalator isn't broken, and carry on the movie.

Daniel S.

The only real IMAX in downtown and a nice theater overall. However I've only lived here 3 years and the escalators have been broken the entire time. It's puzzling that it takes this long to rebuild a broken escalator

Cesar Gonzalez

Perhaps a personal favourite of mine, because of the bar that is very accessible to the rest of the theatre, and that they sell cans prior to going into a movie. Plenty of entertainment options while one waits for the movie to start

A S (Lalaloopsy)

Beautiful theatre experience

Vittoria Gibson

The people are kind and i have great memories in this building. Probably my favourite theatre to go to. Even if I'm further away, I'll put the extra drive or walk in to get to this theatre!

George Edelstein

Good Cineplex. Even offers beer. I saw a movie with a full house which was very quiet and only once did a phone near me light up. Hence, a much better audience than I often experience at other Cineplex theatres even when they are small afternoon screenings. The only downsides are the climb up the stairs if the escalator breaks down and the cost of parking.

Ricardo James

Please get bag dor the fries...... You know if you have drinks and popcorn. The fries are at risk of falling

susan mirabi

Nice location, has all the theatre related amenities. It doesn't always have the greatest range of movies but it's a decent theatre in a good location.

Lili Cao

The screen size is significantly smaller than others (fairview mall or stc) and the size is so puny (only 9 rows of seats in total!). The theatre itself is cool (the elevator and decor) but the movie experience itself is not good. The seats don't even move so I was so uncomfortable the whole time. Totally no go if you had a choice.

Shey Shields

Good cinema. Why is the escalator out of arrive until Spring? Not very accessible, especially when the elevator means a 10 minute wait cause of lines.

Nikolas Terebenec

A Toronto institution. I’ve been going here since I was just a little wee lad. The bar is awesome and the fact that the facilities are fully licensed is clutch! Staff is great and attentive and there and many screens with many viewing options. I would like to add that it is one of the more cleanly theatre I have been to in Toronto. 5 outta 5 guys!

Pedro

Stunning rennocvations, all theatres should look like this. Great service, friendly staff. Now apparently you can buy an alcoholic drink and take it into any theatre, great for those who like to enjoy one while watching a movie (not my thing)

Hasib Chowdhury

Very nice theatre. I like the atmosphere, the one thing I don't like is the elevator, they usually have problems. But other that it's pretty good. Love the films they show in 3D and IMAX.

Chelsea DeBastos

Would have given it a 5 stars but the womans restrooms on both occasions I went had urine all over and toilet paper littered on the floor. The VR experience was great the staff were really helpful in helping choose what experience was best for us and the imax was awesome!

Citizen Citizen

Escalators are ALWAYS broken which wouldn't be so bad it it wasn't the longest climb in the city apart from the CN tower. If you are going with someone who has mobility issues and must use the escalators, don't go here. The 3D glasses are absolute garbage. They are humongous and have an irredescent glowing on both sides that you can see the entire time while wearing them. They are also all scratched. Washrooms are always a mess. That being said, the staff are lovely and they are always doing their best.

Mario Di Cosmo

Undergoing construction to increase concession kiosks. One concessions desk closed before the 9:30 movie so only one set of registers were available at the only other desk. In the arcade area the majority of two player games were reduced to single player as one side would be broken. Otherwise, good theater for watching movies and the seats were comfortable.

Hayden Grierson

Theatre 4's seats dont have enough room between them so if the person in front of you leans back they're in your lap. Other than that... Great theatre!

Eric L

A fine theater if you like having to walk up and down several flights of stairs before and after your movie. Escalators are always broken - always. Poor elevator access doesn't help either. Otherwise a decent location with the usual expensive concessions

Daniel Gibson

Astonishingly bad screen tearing during the imax preshow; to the point that I developed a headache that lasted most of the rest of the movie. Hopefully they can get a projectionist who understands framerate soon. Furthermore the french fries felt much more defrosted than fried leading to a wilted taste and texture reminiscent of the disinterested customer service attitudes of the food counter workers. To top it off signs that point the wrong way and you wonder who is running the place. How unfortunate.

Karen D

Great now that both up and down escalators are working. Quick fast service for food and tickets. Clean washrooms and now have one on main floor before entering access to theatres, behind arcade.

Philip Lumley

Popcorn is like any theatre. I LIKE the self serve drinks (you pay for the size you want and get to choose.from a lot of drinks) it is great as they have about 100 different drinks to choose from, rather than the same 7 fountain drinks. Instead of having a diet coke, I had a diet root beer (SO MUCH BETTER).

Keira Cuthbert

This is the fanciest theater in Toronto with a three story escalator that brings you up to the screening rooms. The seats are comfortable and the sound from the IMAX is perfect. Great place to watch midnight releases.

M Cheu

Positives: -Good sound -Multiple theaters, so good selection of movies -They will refund tickets bought from the clerk if you can't find a seat or you can't enjoy the film for a legitimate reason (like an annoying pair of talkers, a crying baby, or a nasty odor in a theater) -Two sets of washrooms, and they do a pretty good job of keeping them clean -- the mens anyway. -Great customer service. Everyone's friendly and eager to at least try to help you with just about anything. Negatives: -They will not refund tickets bought online or from an on-site kiosk for ANY reason (so that pair of yakky ladies with bad BO and a screaming baby are there, you either put up with it or lose $13-$24) -Theaters are all on the third floor of the building, and the escalator is under constant repair (the steel clad stairs are way too steep and slippery on a rainy day) - Greasy floors and seats. Need to be careful if you have to get up to let someone by, and don't wear light colours or any new clothes. The grease from the seats can stain your pants. Dark colours don't show it up as bad.

T Vollmer

IMAX was way too loud and the staff trolled the audience all movie to ensure people weren't eating or without masks, which ruined the experience

Noushin Kate K

The theatre is nice and up to date (like it should be otherwise you'd just wait to watch it on Netflix) but.... Now it also has an imax sponsored VR experience downstairs, one of them coupled with dbox seats, driving in batmobile :)

B1 Laxson

Very nice big theatre. Special events and pre screens. Bit expensive. Lots of food and bars nearby. Good ttc access just ~100 meters from Queen streetcar. No vip lounge seats like at 10 Dundas

Alejandro Martínez

Going to the movies during Covid-19 era is not that bad.. I was able to enjoy the full theatre for myself.. the theatre is following a very strict protocol to ensure the social distancing is respected by limiting the capacity of the rooms. It feels like something's missing the people coughing and that guy that crosses the whole screen to go to the washroom during the best part of the movie. However, if you really want to focus on every movie detail this is your chance to do it!

Andrew Williams

The theatre has been renovated recently. Change is good. Have many movie premieres at this cinema. Be prepared to walk up a long flight of stairs to get to the movie. Weekends or special events arrive early or order tickets in advance.

Eric Kwan

A cinema with a lot of food amenities inside. The theatres are roomy with reception physically separate connected by a long escalator. The view from the bar is beautiful as it overlooks Adelaide towards Yonge.

James N.

Great IMAX screen in the heart of downtown GTA!

Indy Hack

If you want the IMAX experience come here. They also serve alcohol.

Kendra Thomas

Favourite movie theatre downtown. Whenever I see a movie I try to go here (otherwise it’s the TIFF theatre for movies without wide releases). Usually pretty efficient to buy tickets (mostly kiosks, a few desks to buy tickets. Efficient popcorn lines and like all cineplex popcorn - very consistent in taste. The drinks sometimes confuse people (serve yourself but it’s a touch machine). I enjoy it because of the wide range but I find myself often having to help another person figure it out, which slows down the line. Also the 2 lines (one for popcorn and another for drinks) and the fact that drinks are AFTER the entry to the theatre area, it’s like waiting in line 3 times and on “cheap” Tuesday or on a highly anticipated movie release night, it gets a bit clogged. Make sure to arrive with enough time with this in mind. Otherwise - always clean and tidy, modern looking, good experience, comfy seating!

Billy Rudisch

After downloading the app and purchasing a ticket which had informed me , due to the demand they were only 18 tickets left for that viewing I proceeded to purchase and made an error. I actually purchased a super ticket which includes a copy of the movie delivered to you when he comes out for public viewing. At the theater in the confessions were almost empty that purchased $8 worth of ice-cold popcorn. The movie started and in the beginning there was a vomiting scene we're all of the 14 yes only 14 are the people in the theater started vomiting themself. I'm in stage 4 cancer and will not be around in 2 to 3 months when the video comes out also paying over $57 cuz that experience was disgusting. On the way out I have spoken with the manager he offered me a complimentary one person weekday viewing free ticket. NO THANK YOU!

Nikita Nepali

One must watch IMAX movie in this theater, at least for once. They have kids play area, pizza pizza, Starbucks and their usual snacks counters here.

Daniel Castaneda

Best theater in Toronto. You get to fill you own drink, unlimited refills.

Robyn Germanese

I saw dune here the other day. Dune was terrible in my opinion but what made it worse was the fact that I had to use a ripped up mask in my ears because it was unbearably loud.

Justin Bronzan

Great location right in the city. The service is lacking here. If you are busy or know that there is a a new movie coming out, prepare for those bigger crowds. Hire more help.

Rez

The only reason that I give 3 stars is because it was SO COLD inside! The movie was an hour and half and the whole time I was thinking about how to keep Myself warm! I had enough cloth on me but did not work!!!!! I was impressed by the number of the stairs ! Cool!

Pabler Arav

Probably my favourite theatre in the city. Parking downtown is a rare thing, but this place has a massive parking lot. Generally has lots of showtimes and interesting films playing. You've got your pick of Imax, AVX, etc. The Coca Cola Freestyle machines rock. Staff are always super friendly, but it's a shame because I've heard from numerous sources that management doesn't treat them very well. And why so many 3D showings? Nobody likes 3D. But this place doesn't have any problems that other theatres don't, so five stars.

King Tam

Currently under renovations, ticket booths moved upstairs. With IMAX and other large screens and food sound. Good choice of movies and food. Time play is good. Facilities are clean. $5 discount on underground parking. Escalator working again.

F W

One of the things I was worried about is parking, but you can park conveniently right underneath the cinema for only $5 with validation from the cinema. The cinema alone is very clean and everything is good.

Jonathan Bruce

Seats were horribly uncomfortable. They recline without any way to control it so you're either nearly laying down or tetering precariously through the entire movie. Otherwise this theatre is ok, but one major issue can ruin an experience.

Diego Sartori

Very organized movie theater. Has a good amount of different movies playing at the same time, and there is also a good variety of foods and beverages offered in different stores. Great sound and image quality.

Jean-Christophe Titus

The escalator seems to have been out of service for years now. Nonetheless, the concession is great with a small 19+ bar/lounge. On the standard side, the combo coke machine where you can mix and match any drinks is awesome. Decent arcade. Oh, the movie theatres are great too especially the Imax.

A. Mila

Great experience watching an IMAX movie! Also on main floor near the entrance is a cool virtual reality set up that is worth checking out! On Friday nights and weekends lines may be long so be prepared.

Scott Argyle

One of the best movie experiences I've ever had . I was there to see the new Star Wars . The experience was exceptional . There was a very friendly and knowledgeable lady there named Rosey , who was amazing . She noticed my AC/DC cap and we had a great conversation. I would highly recommend anyone to go there.

Lisa Gerrow

Very nice theatre. Takes a bit to get popcorn and drinks but staff is always very nice. It does some times take awhile to get to your theater because of all the escalators.

Epsillon

Here's what I dont understand. I watch commercial television and it's free other than the cost of the cable service. I watch Netflix and it is commercial free because I do pay for the feed. Now, why should I have to sit through 20 commercial advertisements before the movie here even though I am paying more for one movie than a month"s worth of Netflix? This is twenty darn commercials!! Even commercial TV doesn't subject me to that torture and it's free!

Shaun McCarthy

As long as you know where to sit it is the best place to see an imax movie

Danielle Jedral

Large location with lots of theatres. Great unique advertising features like cardboard cutouts and Coke Freestyle machines. Sometimes sound from other theatres leaks into your movie watching.

lin xav

Big theatre. Great food. Expensive. Mysterious. Eventful. Many descriptions of how amazing the Scotiabank Theatre is. Food is a little pricey but the atmosphere makes up for it. Whenever you’re free from working, stop by and sneak some food and enjoy a movie. If you don’t know what to watch, fifty shades of grey was a good movie in that theatre.

mani talich

Watched Angel has fallen. Free seating. Good staff. Has good choice of restaurants nearby. Good comfortable seats n but was kind of funny smell in the hall, may be pop corn but can improve by using good quality air fresheners or strong ventilating system.

Edin

Have come to this theater many times. If you come after 4 PM parking cost $10 however you can get $5 off by going to the theaters front desk and asking for a validation card. Theater is big and tends to be well staffed. Used to have VR games but that's no longer the case. The actual theater is not on the main level. Must take stairs, escalators or elevator to get to it. If estimate it's on a 5th floor? Nothing else below it inside the same building. There are a few restaurants and shop around it as well. Sometimes the escalators are out of service (variety of reasons) and the elevator is small.

Siobhán Richards

I love this theatre (even when the escalators don't work)! Lots of screens, good selection of food & drinks and the team are friendly

Xavier Pazmino

Always a great theater to visit. A shame that this landmark theater will leave us one day but I will continue to go there as much as I can to enjoy myself as I always have.

Marcelle Lean

We are at the beginning of the world renowned Toronto International Film Festival. The theatres are ultra busy and walking through trying to reach the theatre the movie you chose plays is a real challenge!

Marco Di Giovanni

Good movie theatre. Has ample room for imax and other movie types. Washrooms relatively well upkepted. Floors are not to stick in the theatres. The concessions could be better. Their poutine was gross.

Alexis Gosselin

My girlfriends Dbox seat did not work. They provide cardboard straws but wrap the 3D glasses in plastic and popcorn was room temperature. Very meh experience.

A

Although enough covid19 measure are put in place, the fact the the theatre allowed patrons to eat inside the auditorium is in direct contradiction of Covid19 measures. It is well established health advisory that the potential of contracting covid in a closed indoor environment is high. Given that Covid19 spreads through air droplets, it is unfortunate that Cineplex allows patrons to remove their masks to eat in a close auditorium. Many examples of restaurant borne covid outbreaks have come to light globally. This is ignorance on part of Cineplex and in direct contradiction of their safety protocols. I am not returning again in this high risk environment. - Watched Tenet in Imax

Eddie Lee

Parking is crazy expensive during the day.

Paulina Przyborowska

We went for the VR experience and the staff was extremely knowledged and very friendly. Eager to help and we're ready to accommodate our group. As a side note we want to use the washrooms upstairs by the gaming area and people are smoking in them, really gross.

Harry Bradley

It's a good theatre. The seats are comfy. You can see all the newly released blockbusters, as well as some of the lesser known releases. It's one of those theatres that serves real food, not just the usual popcorn and candy.

Stuart

Good theatre. Like all downtown theatres they really need to clean their washrooms more. But it's slightly better than the other theatres nearby.

sai krishna

The best IMAX 3D experience I ever had. I watched Avengers : Infinity war here and it was awesome. Highly recommended for movie buffs.

Jennifer Campbell

We only visited this theatre one time (while traveling) but the service and snacks were good. The quality of the film and screen were good. The escalator going up was out of order and there are A LOT of stairs!! Then even more stairs once we got into the theatre. That's the only bad thing about this place.

Ali R

Great theatre that stands out from the rest. The entrance is breathtaking, the service is great, and overall the atmosphere and feel is uplifting. The theatre is kept very clean and the service is quick and friendly. The washrooms are a bit out of the way snd not directly in sight, but otherwise I'd recommend checking this place out.

Lisiane Vilhalba Prestes

It is great to watch movies, screem and technology with high definition, but one thing I don't like. Is no one sofa or comfortable seat downstairs and neither upstairs. If you need to wait for somebody, is very discomfortable to wait on those high stools.

Harry Ngo

Good place to watch movies, when the young-dundas cineplex location get busy. You may want to go here to watch it, get many kind of drinks you like. They have a bar on the second floor when you can see the high view. And they have vegetarian sauce for poutine which is very hard to find at any others place

Penny Maclachlan

Garbage overflowing Staff standing around doing nothing. Bratender was pleasant Empty comdements. Overall unorganized seemed like there was no manager present to give direction to the staff.

Fahrin H

We were looking forward to an Imax experience. Sad to see the theater has not been well maintained. Seats were squeaking. Lots of noise during the movie from people talking. Must be the clientele in the area. Whatever happened to common courtesy. Don't have a long conversation during the movie and don't check your phone with the screen on full brightness. Just be considerate of others. Rant over. However the theater does need some renovations. Staff were friendly though.

Dee Dee

So nice to go back to the theater and not alot of people either maybe 15 of us in there.

Jordan J

Saw an employ use the washroom and walk out without washing his hands, then he walked over and scooped popcorn for someone. The staff here is so bad and the place is always dirty, there are flies in the ketchup machine. Also escalator is always broken.

Tom Szabla

Hope you like stairs! A lot! I’ve been here a half-baker’s dozen times and never have I seen both escalators working. It either up or down, never both. Usually, I love stairs. Hope to own a flight or two one day. But this place has too many stairs. It’s inconveniently located on top of the worlds tallest craft store. Are there that many people that do craft’s downtown? Has Martha Stewart won? Otherwise, it’s a pretty standard movie cinema. The only thing of note, is the dope Klingon Bird-O-Prey hanging above the stairs. That earned the theatre a whole extra star

RIV E

Has a Bevi beverage dispenser (Vanilla Coke!), it wasn’t busy when we went for the last show on a Friday night, probably less than 10 people in the stage.

Christine O

I live far away from here but I was meeting up with a friend downtown. I saw Ready Player One in IMAX 3D. We used a kiosk to order, pay tickets, choose seating. They are currently under going construction inside the theatre but it did not affect the service at all I received in there. I loved the experience, hoping to go back when construction is done.

zakia bukhari

Very good , very big screen .

Chris

This is my favorite movie theater. I'm lucky I saw the invisible man here before we all went into quarantine. Hopefully theaters open again one day...

Aidan Grant

Generally positive experience overall. Despite lifted capacity restrictions I had hoped the theatre would had more of their own steps taken to decrease risk potential for staff and customers

Ali Naseer

Great experience, all the way from the concierge to the drink dispensers (they had Coke vanilla) , watched Sicario 2, great movie, great time throughout. Snacks are obviously exponentially expensive than outside food but that's common knowledge. The ratings speak for themselves.

Ken Ye

Pretty nice theatre to hang out and watch movie with friends and family. The staff are friendly and the place is clean. The only bad thing is that you have to take a long escalator to reach the auditoriums and the escalators are a little shaky.

Ian Woodley

Great theatre. Very busy and the staircase to get up stairs seems to be infinitely long. You can get beer in the lobby and even bring it into the threatre which is a huge boon especially if you have to sit through a clunker. Food is better than what you would expect.

Lena

Worst experience ever. We were 4 friends from Quebec in Toronto. Every restaurant, bar, museum etc we went has accepted our proof of vaccination from Quebec. This cinema is the only one asking for the Ontario one. We quickly did the canadian vaccine certificate and on one of us canadian proof, only one dose appeared. Even if we were able to show the quebec's proof with ID that clearly shows the two doses, explaining it must have had a problem of communication between Quebec and Canada, we get kicked out of the cinema. We often come to Toronto, but surely never go back in this theatre.

Tanya B

I love taking my kiddos to this theatre. The staff are very kind and my kids always seem to have a blast whenever it's movie night. Excellent service that makes the experience so much better!

G G

Saw Spiderman in the Imax here. Always love coming downtown to this theatre for a good time.

Ricardo Brooklyn

I loved it, please get paper bags though. 2 drinks, popcorn and fries plus other things...... the fries almost fell on the floor. Plus my friends hands were full too. She was okay carrying her stuff.

Eiann Mascoll

A very nice movie theater, well kept, clean. The service is pretty good, what you would expect from a theater. They seem to be renovating the downstairs, from the looks of construction, into a VR arcade. The screen, seats and sound in the actual auditoriums are at standard. No complaints.

Kathryn P

Wow! Very organized getting us through the new covid rules. I felt very spaced out and safe. A great time. I've missed going to the movies

David K Baris

Quite a few larger screens & IMAX at this location. But in the winter, the temperature is maintained on the low end -around 20C. Be prepared to keep your coats on. I complained to manager regarding this.

Melissa Stevenson

We had won tickets. So it was an absolutely amazing experience.

Anthony Michael

Seats are pretty narrow, luckily the arm rests fold up for a bit more space. The food was a decent price for a cinema and tasty as well. Would recommend.

Shanaaz Sheriff

Great theatre and manager! We had tickets reserved for a Tuesday night. Unfortunately, we just got hit with one delay after the other on our way there with street cars breaking down more than twice. It was a mad rush for us when we arrived, then to find that our reserved seats had been taken and the movie was already 20 minutes in. We approached someone there who got the manager. He was very understanding and happily gave us two complimentary tickets, no questions asked. Thanks Brian! Will definitely be back. Their staff is pleasant and helpful, and the theatre's conditions are very good.

Connor Vaivods

A really cool theater where you feel like you're taking an escalator to the sky to watch your movie. Helps pump you up. Big and open and clean. Multiple grades of screens to choose from to either go all out in imax 3d, or save some $$ in standard. There is also a good selection of food vendors adding a little more choice than normal. Other than that, it's pretty familiar to other theaters.

Zach Brisebois

They charged me $20.00 plus tax for a movie and $5.00 plus tax for a small slushie. Then there was 20 minutes of previews before an over 2 hour movie. I would rather sit at home and spend the 30 dollars on booze and watch pirated content than go back and deal with this again. And the executives wonder why people are pirating more and not going out.

Meghan

Clean and generally well maintained, but the down escalator has been out of order for close to a year and the stairs to get down from the theatre are extremely steep. Very convenient location for anyone in Toronto’s downtown core and plenty of theatre rooms with comfy seats.

omer moinuddin

My favorite movie theater out of all in Toronto, is the Scotiabank Theatre. Not only it has an incredible prices for movies, but it also has a very good and incredible hygiene in the bathrooms and in the auditoriums. It is also the one of the few theaters here in Toronto that has an IMAX auditorium. The IMAX auditorium is about the size of an actual IMAX experience, 70/80mm screen and masterful immersive sound speakers.

Abdul Mohammed

Good place to watch a movie in 3D

Michelle Dowsett

This is a great cultural facility that hosts many different types of events. I went to a film festival while I was visiting from Washington DC. It was all about short films. I hope that they offer, I hope that they offer more types of this type of programming because I would love to attend.

mytencents me

Awesome theater. Biggest escalator I have ever seen. Filled popcorn and movie was great. Definitely coming back!

Camila Medina Sánchez

One of the best theaters in Toronto! Great location in downtown. The experience is amazing; the place inside is incredible with a neon, modern but also retro vibe. Great variety of things to do; there is a play zone with machines, a bar, a photo booth, and great food options to the movie. Totally recommended the IMAX experience. It totally worth it

Alina Ma

Note that if you come for an advanced movie screening, you can head up to the 2nd floor directly and there's a separate table for you to check in there. Note that unless you're part of media or a movie reviewer, you should always always go early!! Seats will run out so you definitely need to make sure you'll get a seat for the movie you'd like to watch! The other thing is, they reserve a good 40% of the seats for members from media and movie reviewers. Namely, all the centre column, middle portion seats are reserved. So, again, if you're going separately, you'll want to go early to nab a good seat. We got there 15 minutes before showtime and ended up having to sit at edge seats at the 2nd row - which makes for a very very distorted and awful movie viewing experience. The washrooms aren't great or large here and by the time we came in at 7pm, a lot of various food/snack/drinks stations seemed to be closing or near closing, which seemed super early. When we came in just before 7pm, there was also only 1 counter open for purchasing tickets on the lower floor. It just seemed almost comical how during peak movie viewing hours with a long lineup, there was 1 person selling tickets. Anyhow, this place really wouldn't be my first choice for watching a show.

Devin Thomas

It's cool. The escalator going up is fun. The workers didn't seem to care that I openly brought outside food, which is a plus. It is kinda dirty though. Now I don't know if I'm just unlucky or they don't clean between movies but some arm rests were sticky and there is popcorn all over the floor

Charmaine Tomlinson

The seats made lots of noise while one was just broken. The family washroom was covered in piss and the popcorn they give you in the display is not fresh even though they claim it is. We also found a hair in our popcorn later during our film. Overall, not impressed with the overall experience we got for the price we paid to get in. Highly recommend another cinema.

Aaron Teaney

My experience was pretty poor. The drink area was being serviced. The machine that I used had no ice. The general drink area smelled like urine. The bathrooms were dirty. Literally watched an employee walk in and not check the area. Just went and signed the sheet saying it was cleaned. The seats were pretty uncomfortable and ontop of that the theater I was in had a damaged speaker throwing off the sound of the movie.

Azure-Dee Jackson

Although the food I ordered took a while to be ready and tasted stale, the customer service was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Not mention the fact that the auditorium was almost empty. Would definitely go back.

Brian Middleton

Decent theaters. Love the VR idea, just wish they had more vetting for quality games instead of boring gimmicky ones. Worth trying out though.

hob roelzli

It's a special theatre for sure. Wish that both escalators worked because you have to climb a lot of steps and I am generally not fond of heights. That said I've never had bad service here or a bad experience.

Someone

I absolutely love this Cineplex! The theatre rooms were great, you have a lot of leeway with which format you want to watch a film without having to wait specific days. The location as well as the building structure is magnificent! The pricing is kind of on the expensive side but considering how good everything else is, it is a price to pay. If you live in or near this location I absolutely recommend this Cineplex.

C McCr

IMAX was too loud many times when watching Dune. Everything else fine.

El Fenòmeno

Went for the matrix opening night. Everything was done safe and efficiently.

Keshav Kumar

Loved the Imax screen but the sests could really use a change

J

Fun place to watch Aladdin, nice wide seats very spacious. Great drinks and snacks, great staff

Stephanie Pruitt

Scotiabank Theatre is the best downtown theatre. It's got the works: bar, restaurant, drink refill machines, games, nontypical snack options, comfortable chairs and more! Staff keep it pretty clean.

Brett McCrindle

Friendly and fast service, theatres are clean and cool, the pop machines have great selection. I go here to see the blockbusters for sure, even with the escalator broken! It just gives you more time to digest and discuss the film!

Christopher Berwick

This location is rather devious with how they showcase their movies. Lots of 3D movies are played during a movies initial release. Never a CC Regular Movie on week 1. I prefer CC Regular. I do not enjoy 3D. Also this theatre isn't always showing the movies I want. That being said, the food is incredible and the staff is kind. Cheers!

William Deng

Watched an early movie and the theatre was empty and it was clean.

andy williams

This review is not so much about the cinema it's self but rather an overall review. Iv lived in toronto all of my life. Iv been to this cinema many many times over the last 15 + years. I v noticed over the last year or so the number of people that like to talk and or be on there phones during a movie ( if your going to do that . Just stay home and download it or something ) . Where this cinema really loses stars is there lack of control. After informing the staff about a person in the back row heckling both the movie and people walking up to there seat though out the show . The staff did absolutely nothing about it. Iv been to alot of other cinemas in Canada and the us . This cinama and the young and Dundas one are the worst for this type of stuff. A sad and unpleasant movie going experience

Lucas Zamboni

Went there for Endgame. The IMAX screen is impressive, the biggest cinema screen I have ever seen and both picture quality and brightness are also really good. The place is terrible for accessibility tho, there is only one elevator that barely works when it is not in service and the escalator is also often broken.

G R (G)

Good location. Great staff

JB Abbas

The escalator situation.. thats the only reason why I've given it 3 stars. I've been to this theatre for the past 10 years and EVERY single time there's something wrong with them. Its annoying and takes forever to go upstairs, granted its great exercise but just.. inconvenient.

Sarah Phen

This movie theater has an interesting appearance at the entrance. The rest of the theatre is quite small. The place really clean and the service is good and quick. Most of the tickets are purchased with touch screen computers which is a reliable system. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable. I would recommend coming here to see a movie.

gregory mardukus

Love this theatre. Always clean, the staff are quick and friendly and for some reason they always have the perfect showtimes that fit my schedule. Location is awesome too not far from my place

Robin Hall

An iconic movie theatre when it comes to Toronto. Staffed with some of the nicest and attentive crew, they really know how to make you feel welcomed. The VIP section is well put together with excellent bartenders. Drinks are suprisngly reasonably priced for a movie theatre. The view from the bar is decent for pictures (ironically I didn't take any)

Alex Zambakkides

First off , i’m not one to ever write reviews about my experiences unless they are positive but I cannot keep quiet on the matter . First of all I think it’s absolutely ridiculous to not sell food or beverages at a movie theatre , as that is apart of the experience; not to mention there are people all around each other anyways. Secondly I don’t like the fact that I was confronted about not wearing a mask although I was situated in the theatre and more than 6 feet apart from everyone in the the theatre (this is excluding my family) . Lastly , The weirdest part is that there was no staff in the theatre , meaning that someone had to have been on the cameras watching to see if I had a mask on , I now feel completely uncomfortable and it feels like my privacy has been violated.I am not able to enjoy the movie due to the reasons above .

RabuHina

Been to this theater on and off and it's very nice. I saw The Grudge there Friday evening (it's a decent movie btw. Good atmosphere build up). However there was a male and female couple who ended up talking. They spoke somewhat above a whisper halfway into the movie and sat one row behind me in the chairs that align perfectly with the stairs ( I was able to make out just over half of what they're saying. That's how 'loud' they spoke)

Kenneth Goldberg

The down escalator was again out of service; the elevator was extremely slow. The trailer and movie (Blade Runner 2049) sound system was so high that it probably constitutes a health hazard. The theater was so empty that it was spooky.

Mike Murawsky

Only place in Toronto to see a movie in 3D. Their IMAX theatre uses a Christie laser projection system... and the brightness of the image is absolutely an order of magnitude better than the other 3D projection methods. Please start using these projectors on your other IMAX screens /theatres!

Lindsey Martin

Good service. Amazing movie I watch with my friends in this theatre. Great experience.

Josh Hood

I went to see the new Avengers today and the sheer overload of people buying tickets crashed their servers and took their projectors offline. Given the circumstances I thought that they handled things exceedingly well. We had bought out tickets online but couldn't print them out to they gave us passes into the theater and let us wait in the cinema for them to get everything back up and running. Our show still managed to start on time and everything. Very Impressed.

Sushil Verma

Other than nice theaters, enjoyed nice view of downtown Toronto. Good service and enjoyed movie

Sarah Loucks

Booked several days in advance to see The Lion King on the first night in IMAX 3D. Multiple problems with the 3D - noticeable green tint, right side of glasses stopped working for several minutes, lines across screen, switched off 3D, turned on 3D but green tint remained... I notified them to fix it, as did several other people. They tried and couldn’t fix it. Their solution was to let the movie continue running with a terrible viewer experience. We walked out and negotiated a refund and a comp pass. For such a massive release with a sold out show, maybe take a few minutes beforehand to check that your theatre is working... #cineplex #filmfailure
