My favorite theatre. Chairs are big, comfy and recline. Nice, clean theatre and always a treat to go there. Saw a 3d movie there during the week for only 11.50. Just dont buy any food or drinks there unless you want to go broke

First experience was incredible. You pick your seats at the ticket booth. Big reclining comfortable seats with lots of leg room so people don't have to shimmy down the isle to get to their seat. Great food selection and friendly staff. If you haven't tried Galaxy Cinema you're doing movies wrong. Prices are a little higher but well worth it compared to the Rialto theatre in Courtenay which is terrible!

Seriously a top notch experience to view a film. The massive lazy boy style recliners are just about as good as it gets. I have always wondered what they put on their popcorn. It's way to pricy but tastes amazing. One day I will bring corn on the cob in and ask them to butter it for me ????????????

Everything is very fluid and efficient here. No major hold ups or ridiculous lines you can't get around. I love the little frozen yogurt bar. Theater is clean! And the seats are staggered perfectly so you will never have trouble seeing over the person in front of you, regardless of height.

I went to see a movie here recently. The movie theater was dirty, and so were the bathrooms. The lines were slow and there was little to no customer service. The theater we were in was clean and okay. The chairs were smaller and not the same size as the other recliner seats at other locations. Overall the experience was okay. They did allow me to bring in a pre made tea.

We watched Venom in the 3D theater and it was phenomenal. The seating, plush leather mechanical recliners were the most comfortable cinema seats I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in. Lots of elbow room and a brand new screen and projector made for a great experience.

I've seen a few movies here recently and both experiences were very good. I really like the super comfy reclining seats, I honestly can't imagine watching a movie without seats like that. I wish all theaters had those seats. Definitely a place I'll be going back to in the future to see more movies.

I was giddy, pure and simple. Sure, I was watching the new "Spiderman No Way Home" bug I'm starting to suspect it might also be because this is a nicely updated theater with full reclining seats amd prices that don't make me weep. Massive screens? Check... now we just need more quality films...

Nice place to grab a movie. They have a really nice and comforting atmosphere. Their seats recline automatically which is a huge plus. Their seats are comfy and very high end. There are ample space for moving between seats and navigating. The cashiers were numerous which made waiting in line done in a jiffy. The food in the movies can be a bit pricey as of any movie venue. They also have an arcade with handfull of enjoyable games to play.

We enjoy going her as they have reclining seats and multiple movies to choose from. The theater has a gaming room to keep kids entertained. Even big kids (adults) can partake in them. The popcorn is one of the better places as well. Each theater is a bit on the smaller side so make sure to arrive early to make sure to get your seats

Decent little theatre. Nice to go to every once in awhile. Love the reclining seats!! But like all theatres these days, it’s an expensive activity if you go “all in” because a drink and popcorn costs more than a ticket (unless you buy the vouchers from Costco...)

Was good if your movie wasn't 3D. Lots of space. Great sound and something I never had growing up, comfortable electric reclining seats. You can put your feet up and relax.

If it wasn't for all the annoying kids and neanderthal bag crunching mouth breathers in the same auditorium for this matinee, my experience would have been five stars. The reclining chairs are incredible. You need to be careful you don't fall asleep.

We love the recliners, during our last visit we had absolutely amazing service from staff. Bathrooms are upstairs and not great, but the theaters have cup holders and tons of room. Note that because the theaters have been renovated for recliners, there is a lot less seating in the theatre and the shows sell out. often, even after the first week, so make sure you check space or buy your tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment

Clean theater and comfy seats. Frozen yogurt is no longer an option and it has been replaced with nachos and hotdogs. Tuesday is cheaper to go. Book your seats online to guarantee enough for your group. Staff are always friendly. I am always happy when movies I want to see are here!

We were first time visitors to this theater. It was very clean. As soon as popcorn was spilled in the lobby, there was someone cleaning it up. There was a previous showing in one of the theaters so we had to wait in the lobby. When that movie ended, someone came and got us. Told us that we could go in. The theatre only had 71 seats. It was modernized with declining seats. It was so cool. I was very impressed with the whole experience. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful.

Taking social distancing seriously. The theatre was clean and comfy (of course, recliners...) however still fairly expensive for an hour and forty minutes of entertainment.

Not sure how I feel if they can't have the latest movies. Free Guy just came out and it isnt at any of the locations in nanaimo except for Landmark.

This movie theatre is at best mediocre. The seats are good however it seems as though all the projectors aren't projecting film, but rather digital media. At one screening it felt like I was watching a cheap dvd copy of a film and I also noticed that half a screen was lighter than the other half. I wanted to advise the staff however my girlfriend stopped me because it looked like something out of their control. The popcorn is good and the staff members are kind and gentle however the projections are not state of the art. 2 stars at most.

This is a fantastic movie theatre in Nanaimo. The theatres are always clean and the chairs... the chairs are so comfy! I’m so glad the theatre exchanged the old chairs for these new recliners... they are always totally clean so each time I go to a movie it feels like I’m sitting in a brand new chair. The snacks are definitely overpriced, but I guess that’s to expect from a movie theatre nowadays. This is a classic theatre, great to watch new releases or any movie in. I’d choose it over the Avalon theatre for sure, mainly because of the chairs! Recommend this place.

The concession is too small, always jammed up, and fairly dirty. The rest of the theater is decent and the movie quality is good. They have a really fun neon arcade if you want to play some games while you're waiting. The concession combo deals seem to be a really good value. Seats have an average comfort level and the movie theaters are spacious and air-conditioned.

I like the seats they're very comfortable but when maxed recline is at an awkward spot for me and my husband. The facility is always clean, the popcorn good, the drinks good. There is NO refills here! The staff is slow and the line moves slow so make sure to arrive early anticipating that. We're use to the theatres in Campbell where the service is excellent and there's hardly any lines. ????

The experience is limited to the standards of the policies and procedures of the Cinaplex company, fortunatly they seem to be pretty good. I do like the point system but wish they could do a little something for the concession, the free refills on the large popcorn/large drink from the other theater is a nice touch. The staff is always friendly and thats nice to see. I like the name tags that have what i assume is the favorite movie of the individual on it. Thats a nice touch to sell the "we love movies too" sort of theme. The theater is generally clean and they seem to even keep on top of the small arcade that they keep. Parking is always easy and that seems like it may be a nightmare, but with so many spaces they do a good job. The recliners are a great touch and make for the perfect movie going experience. It's a shame that there were not a two seater version for date nights! ;)

Wonderful surprise! We drove down from Courtney and oh man it was so worth it!! Better prices, staff, venue and quality reclining electric seats!!! ???? They have so many screens and show times so it makes it easy to find a movie the whole family can enjoy! We will be back for sure, thanks again to the wonderful staff! We will be supporting Nanaimo's well run theatres!

This was my first time coming to this theatre and the seats are so comfortable! They're leather recliners and are super spacious. The lobby area of the theatre seems a little dated (like most theatres nowadays), and the arcade game we tried to play was broken, but overall it was a nice night out.

If you want to go to a free movie this is the place! No one even acknowledges you to check your ticket! There’s no physical distancing practices in place. The popcorn was burnt and disgusting. The theatre was absolutely filthy, outdated and the place smells! Will not go back!

Movie experience was excellent, very comfortable power recliners, picture quality and sound were top notch. Buying assigned seats at machines before doors open was nice but glare on screen made it difficult to see and no privacy when using card keypad. Whole theatre was clean and staff courteous and helpful.

My daughter got tickets to take my mother and I to movie. We went to seat numbers. People refused to move. We had to sit separately. What's the point ? Supposed to be something pleasant but was not.

Great little theatre! Pleasant staff, well maintained, (ie. clean, both in the lobby and the theatres) full concession, an arcade containing classics and new games alike, and all the latest blockbusters with reserved seating. This is not a VIP or alcohol serving theatre. The screen sizes are standard but the room itself is smaller with a lower number of seats that are spaciously arranged; so you're not too close to your neighbours, but aren't far out of reach from your film buddies. The seats themselves are large, silent, electric recliners, which will make the film going experience enjoyable regardless of where you sit, it even makes front row (there are no front pit seats) more than bearable. The design and aim behind the seating here is to provide the best possible experience for the audience rather than packing in viewership. The picture quality is excellent, and the sound is balanced and crisp, no jarring, bombastic audio. All in all, two thumbs up!

We went to Infinity War as my Mothers Day gift and at the 6 p.m. showing the movie was in a theater with broken air conditioning. I have MS which makes me overly sensitive to heat and after a few minutes I knew that I could not sit in that environment for a whole movie. I went to a staff member who was very apologetic and assured me that we could go to another showing. At the til I was again apologized to and quickly offered a resolution for another showing with air conditioning. The only issue was that there was an hour wait. When I brought up our concession likely running out in that hour the staff member quickly got a manager and when I asked if they would provide complimentary concession she quickly agreed. They were all her professional and empathetic and quickly made it right. I'm sure that they just thought I was complaining about the heat but with no knowledge of my difficulties (I look totally normal) they responded very well. Much appreciated.

I like Galaxy because of the scene points and the reclining seats, so much more comfortable, however their popcorn is definitely not as good as the other theatres and it sucks how there is no refills on anything.

Staff was friendly courteous and respectful. They in my opinion excell in customer service. Tickets seem reasonable. Price of snacks is costly as with all theatres. Theatre was very clean

Love the new seats, however.....I miss the large popcorn and pop refills. They say it's a hygiene issue but AVALON gives free large popcorn and pop refills. The Avalon gives you a new bag when you get your refill. Even with the comfy seats at the Galaxy, I always check Avalon movies first. With the price of popcorn and pop, I prefer the Avalon with their refillable pop and popcorn!

The manager Lance there is great and he helped me when I accidentally booked the wrong theatre on my app. However I am docking three stars for two reasons. The first is that this is the second time I got the seat where the recliner didn’t work. The second reason is because I thought it was despicable that a person was turned away for not having a QR code on their phone as proof of vaccine even though they had their actual paper proof of vaccination. Now yes paper can be faked easier than the digital QR code. But imagine this. If my 12 vaccinated child with his proof of vaccination was declined entry to the theatre because I could not afford to get him a smart phone - I would be furious as well. I feel so bad for that family that was turned away.

Good place to watch a movie. Cost $20 for the #1 Combo which comes with a Large Popcorn, Pop, and bag of candy, fairly expensive but that's how all theaters are. I love the reclining seats, they are really comfortable, keeps you from getting sore during long films!

I like the new seats and it's a nice theater. The only downside is they hardly have any showings. They need to have more late morning,early afternoon showings all the time. If you're coming from a long way to see a movie you want a selection of time slots so you can get back home at a decent time.

The new seats are great. The theater is nice and clean. There is only two things I would like to see; the staff could pay more attention with the lines so people aren't aloud to cut through to the front, and if the snacks were more affordable( especially water bottles) people wouldn't need to sneak them in.

Great Movie, terrible customer service. Apparently they oversold a bunch of Costco gift cards so they couldn’t sell any kids popcorn and drink combos unless you were redeeming a gift card. Hey, how about you split a small popcorn into two bags for me with 2 half full small drinks since you can’t sell a kids combo? No? It has to be a full bag and drink but you will give me an empty bag and empty cup so I can do it myself and make a mess all over your counter? And the kicker.... eye rolls and attitude for being so ridiculous with my request.

This is a nicer theatre compared to the Landmark cinema at Woodgrove mall. There are eight theatres inside and seats are all power recliners plus the leg rooms are huge. There’s a small arcade area for you to kill a little time, plenty of parking outside as well.

Usually a great theatre , unfortunately has some issues. took my family to the theatre I was unable to enjoy the movie due to black and green sludge in my drink. The manager offered me a free popcorn to make up for it... spent the rest of tonight till 1am(now) puking . As a rule in general this theatre was great, seems to be going downhill ...

Went for an afternoon showing with family and basically had the theater to ourselves. The movie was good. Lol. The seats dont recline as well as other theaters and the price for a matinee still seemed steep. Maybe because it was 3d? Anyway I gave 4 stars because I love the purple colors. Please dont redecorate!

Best seats in Nanaimo, big comfortable seats with built in cup holder and Recliner feature. The theater has nice and wide isles. The screens are medium size and not very bright. Nice friendly staff.

Uh....for a family coming from out of town....need WAY more signage...there's a box offce out front....no one in it..no way to know that you purchase the tickets at the concession counter..had to ask a fellow patron where to go...not one staff who LOOKED RIGHT AT US offered assistance ...ordering was a experience in futility...it took 3 staff to help us get 3 tickets and popcorn ...just because we had an Access card...then to find the bathroom....when leaving the theatre itself ..there isnt a sign direction you UPSTAIRS....again had to ask...and as for paying for extra butter...just shaking my head at this point. Well..at least the seats were comfy.

Love the seats in this theater. They are so comfy to sit in. We will go on a cheap night Tuesday if we want to see a good movie. The only thing I didn't like about this theater is the price of buying any food there. A small popcorn is $6.49. You wanna put butter on it, add another 50cents. A small pop 4.49. Can you say "RIPOFF". Never again will I buy food from there. Whoever makes these prices are absolutely ridiculous.

I am a 31 year old male, and I have to say that you need to turn down the volume. It actually HURTS my ears and everytime I go see a movie I am reminded why I don't see movies anymore. Care and consideration before profit, plz and Ty.
