Very good and interesting movies, different subjects either documentary or action, either since 100 years ago or as today and the environment is very pleasant, calm and quiet, I am very lucky when found this place when I retired 5 years ago. Good place to go almost every Day. Please keep going

A fun place to watch arty films with like-minded cinema buffs (if you consider yourself one). The building is beautifully designed and the theaters are plush, comfortable, modern and clean. Excellent selection/curation of films (both old and new) and friendly staff. Slightly pricey but worth it to support this unique nonprofit theater.

MOVIEPASS CUSTOMERS: Beware - Jacob Burns management decided to NOT accept MoviePass for any "special event" films, which are becoming more and more prominent with their new monthly themes. Instead of allowing you to use your pass (as advertised) and then pay $1 extra for the increased ticket price, they go against MoviePass rules and just restrict it completely, even though it's not a 3D film. Just an FYI when you show up expecting what you paid for to work and the staff's entire excuse is a tattered piece of paper taped to the desk saying they no longer against MoviePass for special event films with a shrug of a shoulder and a manager who won't even come out to discuss it.

Attended this theater in Pleasantville Ny, to view " Moonlight" - The establishment is made up of about 4 theaters . They specialize in foreign & independent films, which is great if you want to view and support independent and upcoming film makers. Great experience, staff were helpful and friendly. Theater was antiquated but i loved it nonetheless!

Pricy unless you have a membership. First run Independent and foreign films. Comfortable seats although the cup holders are too wide for a bottle of water. Attentive staff and great popcorn. I prefer to go on Sundays when you don't have to feed the meters.

I have a membership of this film center so i visit this place , once in every 15 days. If you plan to visit this place , get your tickets reserved before 2-3 days otherwise you are not going to get any tickets since it is almost house full.

I've always loved this theater. Growing up in Westchester, my family would go to the Rome Theater in Pleasantville in the same location where Jacob Burns now sits, so there is also a bit of nostalgia for me in coming here. But the real reason is the fantastic movies and the comfort and cleanliness of the theater. Why just 4-stars? Three issues: 1) the parking. A nightmare. Unless I go on Sundays when I can almost always find a spot in the train station lot, the newly fixed time for meter parking that doesn't allow enough time for the show, or the municipal lot that is usually full have left me returning home after driving there because there is no parking; 2) seniors do not get discounts on weekends. Ummmm...I'm a "senior" but I still work, so weekends are it for me. I'm still a senior on the weekend!!; 3) because I love it here so much, friends always buy me gift certificates. But you CANNOT buy advance tix with a gift card. WHY?? So I am constantly shut out of movies that have sold out even arriving as much as 40 minutes in advance. This is frustrating.

This theater is amazing. They show films that you cannot see anywhere else in the county. The staff is friendly and usually knowledgeable about what they have to offer. I cannot recommend this theater more. The popcorn is made fresh in house and you will taste the difference. Please give the Jacob Burns a shot. I guarantee you won’t regret it.

As a frequent patron of your theater, I am extremely disappointed that you are not showing the film The Promise. You always seem to bring other holocaust/genocide movies as part of an educational experience to your loyal audience but yet this time it seems there is no effort being made to show one of the most horrific events in the history of not only the Armenian people but of mankind. I hope that you will reconsider this decision.
