REVIEWS OF Glasgow Film Theatre IN Moose Factory

Frances Brown

Great night. Staff lovely and very helpful

Justyna Kardasz

Very rustic feel to it, the chairs aren't as comfy as in other cinemas, but it's still very cosy.

Brian Peters

Top movie theatre in Glasgow and beyond. Less likely to show blockbuster Hollywood movies and concentrate on award winners, smaller budget and foreign language. Best option therefore!

Trendy Tuesday Girl Museum

Love the GFT! So glad it's open again. I went on a really hot day but it was nice and cool inside. I love that you can take your own snacks and buy alcohol and coffee in the cafe and take drinks into the cinema. Seats comfy and you get to choose where to sit. No children either! Lovely and relaxing few hours away from the world.

Adam Notman

Like a twin of Edinburgh's Filmhouse but with comfier seats. Has a bar but not much space to wait if it's busy, though that matters more during festival times. Nice staff too.

Adriano the active man

Need renovation there , more room for legs required, new seats needed, I can pay more with comfy position

Stephen Scott

Great screen room, great enviroment, great choices of film

Lucy Stevens

Saw Mountains on Stage here. Very clean and with good Covid precautions. Lovely little film theatre!

Andrea Reilly

Christopher Lennon

tomer klin

Wonderful firm theatre with interesting movies.

Bryn R Williams

Hosted People's Summit events at COP26, so Kudos for that. Also a gorgeous theatre, look forward to watching a movie there.

David Patterson

This is a fantastic theatre! The chairs are very comfortable leather with drinks holders to the side. The screens, although quite small, are high quality and the sound is superb. The toilet facilities are also well maintained. This cinema isn't one that draws in the blockbuster crowd, it's aimed more at specialist cinema and thankfully because of that the audience is much more well behaved, no mobile phones going off, people talking or loud popcorn eaters! If you want a quality cinema experience, free from the screaming mobile phone kids I'd definitely recommend this venue.

Rachel Winbro

Good old film theater with great interior design, comfortable chairs and the possibility for foreigners to see the movie with subtitles. I had an amazing experience!

Sam McGuire

Was delighted to finally sit down and watch the French dispatch in the Glasgow Film Theatre. The atmosphere and look of the place is just beautiful. It truly adds to the experience of the film.????⭐

Great to back at the GFT after a long absence, felt as if I had never been away a great cinematic experience from start to finish with friendly and helpful staff and can't wait toll we're back

Brian Hunter

Great wee cinema, showing a lot of films the other major cinemas don't. Has a great festival too.

Paul Campbell

Great facility giving audiences a unique experience of the best of the world's cinema. Super friendly and helpful staff.

This is my favourite cinema and mainly shows independent films. It has three screens & a cafe/bar and has-been around for 80 years. If late Feb it has a Film Festival showcasing the best new films, even world premieres, and throughout the year it has mini festival strands like Italian novices. They run two schemes one is a loyalty point system and the other a Cinecard which gives you money off films, points, priority booking for the Film Festival and 4 free films (the cost of the card) per year. It is fully accessible. Oh and there's never the smell of stale popcorn or hot dogs to spoil the experience.

GFT seems to be an important landmark in Glasgow's cultural scene -- the art house cinema. Appropriate decor: old fashioned styling, bit run down, tasteful film posters everywhere, good lighting, small bar. There is an appeal for funds to modernise the place and remove its personality. I went to see the Franchise film Elle which was sick and twisted but pretty damn good. The GFT is the place to go if you're looking for something to do in Glasgow and you don't fancy getting pissed

Helena López

One of my favourite places in Glasgow! It's just lovely, people is really nice, the films are amazing and they have special prices for people under 25 (6£) and also student discount if you are not under 25 but are a student! The selection of filmss is really good and you can find good independent cinema! :-) It's nice for a date ;-)

Mary Pollock

The venue and film were excellent, unfortunately when booking we understood it would be at 50% capacity but on the night it was full capacity. We would not have attended had we known as we still observe social distancing due to health issues.

Naoise Luby

Lovely small theatres, very intimate and a good selection of new releases. A lot of ads before the movie, more than usual it seemed. If food was sold, it wasn't clear from when you entered. Overall a good experience though

David Ferrell

Great cinema to visit, enjoy a beer and a great movie.

Stephen Lally

Glasgows finest for cult cinema. The building and decor takes you back in time to an amazing art defo era.

Delighted to be back at the GFT for the first time since it had to close due to Covid-19. Online booking worked very well and seats were spaced out very generously. I didn't have to come anywhere near anyone else during my visit. And I was delighted to be able to see Les Miserables, surely a contemporary classic, on the big screen.

Lee Gilmour

– Fantastic place for movie lovers and casual movie goers. Love the old fashioned style and appearance. Only suggestion would be better sound/volume control. Maybe it's movie-dependent but it was a little too loud once or twice. Otherwise, it's definitely recommended

Helen Hamilton

Great little film theatre. Fantastic to go and watch The Outsiders on the big screen. Friendly staff and cosy venue.

Santiago Marrón Ruiz

Really nice setting, good films, nice student discounts

Colin Pegrum

Makes such a pleasant change from the big chain cinemas.

Robert Thomson

Bar. No seats. Lavatory. One cubicle. A three-day anime festival can't be accommodated like this.

Iain lawless

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Seats are a little small and cramped (compared to other cinemas) but only really an issue when it's busy and everyone has to stand up to let you past. Screens are also a little small, but they are of a good quality. The main appeal is the fantastic variety of movies that are shown. The building itself has great character to it and is always very clean and presentable. I always leave having had a positive experience.

andrew dougherty

Lovely space, seats not particularly comfortable

Sheila Fiore

Thw film Good Mother was brilliant. I think it is wonderful that you offer these foreign language films in a cute and comfortable space in the middle of the city at such a reasonable price.

John McClure

Lost a bit of its charm over the years, but still a great place for non-multiplex movies. Boutique competition from Everyman cinema now, which is good.

Eilish Baird

Really lovely interior, friendly staff, good range of films. I personally thought the food and drink was reasonably priced as well as far as cinemas go. My partner and I went to see Outlaw King there recently and it was packed! But there was a member of staff / usher present the whole time which I liked because I've had bad experiences at other cinemas with other customers being loud and inconsiderate. Whereas it was very quiet and polite at GTF.

Rhys Thomas

Still love this place. Great cultural centre in dear old Glasgow.. Always good films on...

Aneta Piatkowska

Old style cinema. Cosy and nice. Focus on films from over the world, not necessary mainstream.

Essi K

Helpful & friendly staff, great variety of films from different countries, and cheap fizzy juice! ????

This one is a bit tricky. Somehow its weaknesses can become its strengths. Screen was rather small but clear and vivid. Hall was relatively big compared to the screen size but seats were comfortable and viewing was pleasant. Sound system was rather weak but did the job once everyone stopped talking. Generally a bit lackluster viewing experience but certainly a pleasant one. I wouldn't recommend it for the latest Marvel movie. But you have other options for that in the city. Glasgow Film brings films that mainstream cinemas won't. So you will get that chance to watch hidden gems that no one else will show. I went and saw Jay and Silent Bob reboot there and it was one of the most pleasant viewing experiences ever. Initially I was worried as people talking easily overpowered the sound system. But once the movie started everyone was having fun and that can be contagious. Playing certain types of movies attracts certain kind of cinephiles it seems, so in the end all the potential drawbacks I mentioned earlier worked at its advantage to provide a more intimate movie experience.

stephen kostric

Lovely little (quirky) theater playing mainly non mainstream and Art house films. Friendly staff, clean toilet's comfortable seats. Bar is a little pricey.

Great independent cinema, good selection of films in old, authentic cinema.

John Dobbie

Sticking to covid rules, keeping us all safe, atmosphere and ambience second to none, staff on the ball......Thank you gft and staff for a great experience

This one is one of my favorited places in town if you love cinema, you can’t miss this place. I went 4 times and they have lots of information at website and printed brochure. The area is nice to have a walk as well! Enjoy yourself

Graeme Michie

Lovely film theater and warm welcome from Staff

KEN MCKINLAY

It has its own special atmosphere, very good to be back. Film - As Tears Go By - was great, want to see more in the Wong Kar Wai season. Covid arrangements all in place but not obtrusively so, staff welcoming as ever.

John B

If you love independent movies that are a bit different then this is the place to go. Friendly staff, sensible pricing and good range of products in the cafe/bar.

Carol nasim

Nice wee theatre. Staff really friendly.

Cat J

We had a lovely time here and enjoyed seeing an old film. There’s a good selection of snacks and drinks. Seats could be a little more comfortable but they are quite old.
