As of day the business gets a rating of 4.2 out of 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is really high, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the evaluation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater corresponds to the category of Movie theater.
Well it's a big city theater and I haven't been one of those in many years and wow it's different and it's expensive but hey it was an interesting experience and I had a good time IMAX 3D gotta love it!
Good theatre, a little bit behind on the quality of seats compared to some other Cineplex theatres, but nothing problematic!
The digital tickets on your phone is nice and the number of theatres means lots of showings. Unfortunately the seats and lack of assigned seating in most shows makes the theatre less then great.
Great cinema it was clean and the experience was great just could have a more food options.
Great theater! I don't know if it's just me but the volume is just a little louder then it needs to be.. ????
Good core movie-going experience. But concession lines were really long since half of the concession counter is shut-down. Automatic door opening buttons are really dirty
Probably the best theatre in the city (besides the VIP theatre on McGillivray) Very busy on Tuesdays, it's a bit cheaper. Personally I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks and go when it's not so crowded.
Probably the worst bang for your buck as far as theaters go in Winnipeg. 25 bucks for 2 medium drinks and a large popcorn. Probably only worth $10 at most. Not to mention the popcorn was dry and kept prebaged under a heat lamp; like eating expensive fluffy cardboard.
I was watching Spider-Man no way home yesterday at 2:30 pm at Scotiabank movie theatre and did not feel safe. There were people directly behind us and beside us during the movie. Barely any protocol was taken to protect anyone from Covid. …
Made some good upgrades to this theatre. Seats are much more comfortable. Sound is great. The specialty seats that rumble and move during action scenes are way to expensive to try.
Once they stop doing the Vaxpass and apologize to everyone for the great disservice cause by implementing it, then my rating will go up. Empty theatres, due to the Vaxpass. The kids working were great, however management was not very good. A family came in before the movie started and sat behind us (empty theatre) and the perfume was beyond overbearing. Management did nothing about it, eventhough my son's scent allergies made him very ill. We had the move to the very front. Did NOT make for an enjoyable experience.
Enjoyed this theatre. Food was average cost. Seating was comfy. Great sound. Screens were in great condition so viewing was easy. Easily get out if you need to go to the washroom. Washrooms were clean and stocked with soap and towels. Have only come here a few times because we no longer live in the area.. but if we wanted to watch a movie in Winnipeg.. we would come here. Can just eat at one of the many restaurants or food court in the area.
Good facility, reclining seats, clear sight lines. Everything you could expect from a modern theatre.
Had a great date night with my wife while watching Mission Impossible Fallout Imax. Theatre was buzzing with activity and watching in Imax was awesome. Seats were showing wear and tear. Not as comfortable as the recliners in Landmark Grant Park Theatre. Kudos to the staff as there was a power outage for about 20-25 minutes, but they got the movie back up and running. Even handed out courtesy tickets on the way out for the inconvenience. All in all it was a great evening out with my loved one!
Cinemas too hot. Not a lot of leg and elbow space. Ticketing staff are not so friendly. Dirty washroom and dining area. Not recomendable.
For its age, this theater has been kept up well enough. The seats are comfortable enough. Parking is adaquit, although getting in and out can be hectic at times. The concession are nothing spectacular to choose from and are your standard over priced theater fair. To their credit, I have never attended a movie here with unkempt theaters.
Standard movie theatre they r taking covid precautions
We were here to see John Wick 3 - busy fun place and I love the self-service terminals -prices are a little high but once in awhile treat it hits the spot ...
I love this theater, the prices are a little high but overall it was really good
I liked the movie and where I was seated but it was uncomfortable and I had to readjust my position many time’s but i would go back their the movie was at a reasonable price and the food was good
It's comfy seating always make me drive to the other end of the city to watch movies. They also have D-BOX options.
Helpful staff and good safety protocols
Be prepared with QR code coz you won't get entry without that
Good service. Easy online ticket sales. Fun family experience. Theater is usually pretty tidy. Overall good value with scene card rewards.
The seats were terrible. So uncomfortable. I will not be returning as I now have a painful back ache. Not worth anything we paid! Wait for grant park! Also, the app wasn’t working so I had to purchase my tickets at their machines. The touch screens wouldn’t register. Took me 5 mins to give this theater money. This should be 1 min. The play area is $10 worth of tickets we finished in 4 mins. Not worth it.
Theatres are ok but some rooms are very small and yet charge the same than the big screen.
CONS: Can not book seats online before it sells out via my Samsung note 5. Please fix bugs!! App does not show specific theatre type in my location, Imax Dbox!! Booking online is useless! Food is more expensive. PROS: DBOX!, Clean, good staff
Good venue and decent service. Wish the Imax was a real Imax (size). Some of the seats are starting to show their age.
Good theatre. Good staff
Has the best movie selection and sometimes is the only Cineplex playing certain movies. The imax theater is great but I wish they still had the imax 3d glasses because they fit better over prescription glasses.
didnt like that they are not making sure people are wearing their face mask, when they are not drinking or eating. Had to seat beside somebody that didnt have face mask for the whole movie. YOU should be more concerned about this since you are one of the most affected business in this covid-19
It's really good. Food is really good too. Miss the Burger King that was there few years ago. Otherwise I would watch a movie there any time.
Theater is always nice and sometimes dirty depending on when you arrive but dont let that fool you. Prices individually are very expensive so always get a combo so much cheaper. Always great sound and seats no matter where you sit. Has IMAX, 3d and regular. All different set pricing. Only theater I really go to. Been to many others but usually have a disappointment. Never have one here!
Great theatre. Always go to this theatre when I come up to Winnepeg to visit my grandparents and it always has good movies and good snacks.
Love taking the family to the movies and arcade. Always had friendly service, and clean seats.
Clean location, prices are as expected at any movie theater. updated seats and good quality picture / sound system.
Good movie, comfortable seats, not crowded. Nice relaxing evening.
Most of the theatres have reclining seats now which makes for a comfortable viewing experience from almost any seat.
IMAX Seats were comfortable. Concessions had false advertising. Showing price for a meal when you only get the poutine. Talked to manager. Said would advise corporate office. I have my doubts.
Very expensive but very good.
Nice theater. Nothing bad to say. Pretty standard. Good place to go in general. Having been to the theaters in the USA this one in comparison is lacking a bit but for Winnipeg it is great.
Love the seats, very comfy! They can move back and forth, and the arm rests lift up so you can cuddle with your loved one! ???? Kind people working there. Lots of games to play at the arcade. And big screen, you can see it no matter where you sit in the theater.
Updating my review. This theatre is awful. Two tickets and some snacks is $40+. For that price I guess I expected, oh I don't know, the floors to be swept from the last show. Maybe, wait for it, oh I do that know mopped. 1 in 5 chairs are broken. The food was old and tasteless. Going forward, we're sticking with Grant park. The experience is worth the price. This experience is not.
Very expensive for a family, but the kids enjoyed it.
It's quite clean and cozy, the auditorium was good - sound and everything. Nice experience with kids!
They won't let you in unless you have a COVID vaccine QR code or immunization card.
First movie out in over a year. Meh it's was ok the movie was good, the theater is about the same
I think the management of this movie house/ entertainment place needs to train the staff with proper customer service. The staff aren't helpful and can't afford to give a smile as if we came here for free. The concession is ridiculously priced for the poor quality of food and bad service of the staff.
Great IMAX experience and gorgeous picture. Perfect movie experience.
Never have had any issues at this theatre
Always has the best movies and fairly good food. Tickets and concessions can be incredibly expensive if you're paying for a family. But there are ways to get free movie tickets. If you have a scene card you can end up with some free movies.
Good experience overall. The seats are comfortable enough, but they're getting old and could use an upgrade. The concession is very efficient and well optimised. I went on a busy Friday evening and waited in the queue less than a minute to get my ticket, popcorn, and drink.
Bring the kids here often, good movies and theater plus fun games
Atmosphere is great lots of movies. If you are out to treat yourself and your girl this place has places to eat and sit and chat. The place had excellent theater space with washrooms nearby. Customer service and popcorn and snacks always great. The people manage this place really well. Great place on a Friday or Saturday night. The place is well worth it. I recommend this place.
Clean. Cheap. Adhering to covid protocols.
Went to see a matinee movie. The staff was friendly, the popcorn was fresh. Cant ask for anything more.
Seats recently redone. IMAX is great
The only thing enjoyable about my experience was the actual movie. Crappiest broken seats, scratched up greasy 3D glasses and long unimaginabley slow concession lines
I'm from Portage La Prairie a little town outside Winnipeg. The theatre is huge and has comfy seats. The only complaint I have is about us as people. Put the dang cell phone away for a movie it totally distracts me from the movie I'm trying to be immersed in.
Planned to eat a meal before the show. All food services were closed. Just popcorn and pop available. How does that make sense. Signed, still hungry!
Went to see a movie and the credits were cut short .Went to talk to a few staff about this as I was wanting to see the credits and pictures that followed. They shrugged their shoulders and said sorry like it wasn't a big deal. Food is overpriced as well.
Dirty, crappy seats, and sound issues. Never get snacks because service is horrible. I would never pay a full ticket price to see a movie here. Last time they didnt even turn the lights of when the movie started.
Good theater, IMAX experience was good as usual. Prices are ridiculous as usual. All and all a good night out.
Lots of self serve ticket machines. Good service from the staff. Each auditorium has reclining seats makes for a comfortable movie going experience.
Sub par food, dirty premises, broken seats, and ushers do not ask people to remove their feet from the back of the seats. This place has really fallen over time. I now go to Landmark whenever I can.
I always enjoy my time there. The selection of arcade games are a bit lacking, but that's not what I go there for. The selection of movies are typical, but Cineplex goes out of their way to feature classics and favourites every so often, as well as special events for TV movies and such, which is really nice.
This is the best theatre is winnupeg to go to as I has the IMAX. I've seen a couple movies in IMAX and I love it. It has a very exciting, modern, fun atmosphere as soon as you walk in the doors. No matter how many times I've been there I'm always impressed and suprised.
It's a large theater with 14 cinemas. Regular cineplex pricing with good selection of movies. There are sd theaters, HD and IMAX theaters.
So the staff here are working so hard to follow protocols and make things safe. The girl at the concession stand was in training and she was fluttering herself trying to figure out what she needed to do I felt bad for her. The theater was very empty. The only thing I think was the movie I was there to see should not have had kids in it but there were a couple kids who were far too young for the content but they were with an adult so not my business but I would think the workers would have said it was not appropriate for the kids. It was clean, it was being attended to right as we were leaving. During these difficult times it was nice to see they were trying.
Great place to go watch movies, I saw Dr. Strange the other day using my SCENE points. Excellent reward system with an excellent theatre! The downside is that they have to clean their bathrooms more often, after every movie its a mess, and concessions are expensive. Overall however my experiences are enjoyable!
Been going here forever and love it, I only wish I hadnt read the previous reviews... its such a pity that humanity is going downhill and that people have time to complain about popcorn and blaming their lack of intelligence on others... Disheartening despite the fact that 98 percent of the time theres nothing wrong with this theatre. The employees are pleasant and helpful, the theatre is usually quite clean and well kept, and the seats are very comfy. The only problem you may run into is other whiny movie goers hassling just about everyone but thats at any theatre and this is Winnipeg... ps I love the arcade, it makes it a great cheesy date location :)
The only IMAX in Winnipeg. Usually very good however it was but dirty by the 1030 pm show. We had a bit of problem with the movie screen. The manager was very helpful and courteous with our concern. Great service.
Great place. Even though the place was PA ked when we arrived the lines for popcorn and drinks were quite fast and the Imax room is really good. Although, as a big (aka fat) guy, the seats could be an inch or two wider. Overall, great experience.
Clean place. Comfy seats. Friendly staff.
Great place to watch a movie. Only one discrepancy.. the seats need to be updated. A 2hr or more movie will leave you uncomfortable and irritated.
Formerly known as Silvercity Polo Park, this had been my favorite theater for about 8 years now. They constantly add new games or move kiosks around to make it more accessible and less time consuming for us. Staff is always nice, auditoriums are always clean. I never once had a bad experience here, unless the movie it self was bad.
Slowly updating each theatre so it's almost hit or miss depending on the theatre you are placed at. I like the imax with the reserved seating. Less stress. Everything is slowly becoming automated with computers instead of people.
COVID protocols were in place and followed. IMAX was amazing.
The IMAX screen is the best! They're following the covid rules and scan you QR and verify ID, this is great.
Stale popcorn made three days ago. Seats are comfy enough, but you can see the impact of people not going to theatres as much and for the prices they charge, you can understand why.
Facility is always a mess. seats were sticky with soda. Movie/Picture quality was garbage, i could download a better pirated version from russia. Way too dark and blurry, absolutely no sharpness or brightness to speak of. Theater name may have changed but quality has gone out the window. Not worth the ticket price.
Had a great time watching Deadpool at IMAX last night. Reserved seats a head of time. Line up to pick up tickets was just as long as buying ones.
For being the"Scotiabank theater" it doesn't live up to the name. Small selection of games to pass the time (little outdated), no station to exchange points for prizes. And the theaters tend to have an odor that remind me of the men's washroom. But it's still a decent place to watch a movie, just needs some TLC
Very disappointing. We rarely go out and when we do we expect the best as projected in our business. The movie we were anticipating to see was Aquaman. Its obvious after a few minutes in that there is a blown speaker in the top right corner of the screen. The whole movie was full of loud scenes and after awhile the shriek of the static was hurting our ears. Very unenjoyable. The theatre was nearly full too. Everyone else was subjected to that poor quality sound. The whole audience should be compensated for the ruined show. You could literally hear the paper of the drum flapping. This isn't the first time I've noticed speakers with that much static, too. I don't think upgrades happen very often.
This place has gone down hill! They got rid of discounts if you are a scene member, sell you over priced stale popcorn and don't even fill the bags all the way. Best advice i can give is stay away.
Had a great time
Very clean n tidy
Somehow covid improved this place. Service was fast and friendly and they're licensed now! A little pricey but it's a nice option to have.
It's a very well executed movie theater. There are movies here and they play at certain times. To check these times you can use your phone or computer. It's very convenient, and there's lots of parking. Plenty of dining establishments nearby if you want to go out after viewing your film. I don't like that stupid pre show with the pointless movie trivia, but that's not the cinema's fault. I'd prefer more timeplay games!
Went to see Dune in theatre 6 at polo park on November 7th and the front left speaker is not working and the front right speaker is breaking up. When I told the staff, they told me that I can get my money back if I wasn’t happy. Tried to contact someone via email or phone to let them know, but tried and could not find a way to talk to a person.
Went to see End Games. Love their reclining seats. One of their arms on the seats go up. Makes the chair more roomier.
It is good the movie theaters are re-opening safely. They automatically save one seat between the parties to allow adequate physical distancing. Beer can be purchased! The facility is kept very clean. They also have an instant photo booth I want to try for fun!
Nice facility. I was surprised that you could get alcoholic beverages to drink while watching the movie. Just moved back to Winnipeg and that was new to me.
Great place! Lots of variety to watch. Prices are comparable to other theatre places.
EPIC! You must see Godzilla in IMAX! Was really impressed with how the story always keeps moving and every single line and actor were all excellent. Godzilla’s acting was ok.....ha! ???? #godzillakingofthemonsters #godzilla #imax ????
Incredibly expensive and not very clean. Teenagers serving horrific food. So basically the perfect movie experience
Love it, Been going here since the first IRONMAN on opening night to the most recent SPIDERMAN: Far From Home!!! Best theater in Winnipeg. IMAX screens and sound. No one has come close to competing yet!!!!
Top dollar for bad service lousy food, would rather go to the cheaper theaters where the seats are less comfortable but way better service. The only thing that this theater is good at are the seats.
Was pretty great. I didn't stick to the floor which was a wonderful surprise. Seats were clean. Was extremely dark so when mid movie bathroom break happened, it was impossible to find our seats again. Runway lighting would be great.
Sitting in theatre 14 on a July afternoon and there is very little evidence to prove that the air conditioning is working. Do not come here on a hot day.
Enjoyed our movie watching experience here. The theatres have very comfortable seating. It’s also a neat and tidy location with easy parking and straightforward ticketing, especially if you buy ahead online. Lots of their movies allow you to choose your seats so you don’t have to get there super early for a good spot. The temperature is good as well, not too cold. Haven’t tried the food but I hear it’s good too.
Pricey admission and concessions, dirty, very little leg room in the theatres, the seats aren't very comfortable. This is the closest theatre to me but I'm willing to travel further (specifically Grant Park) for a better experience.
Theatre is definitely not as nice as it once was, looking a little run down. Movie started and the lights didn't go down, had to leave the show to get someone to turn off the lights.
Excellent all-round theatre-going experience. Nice selection of candy and drinks, even though the prices are highway-robbery-level exhorbitant. Seats are plush and comfortable, and recline slightly without making it feel like you're going to hit the person behind you. Lots of leg room! Excellent screen and audio quality made for a very enjoyable experience watching The Meg in 3D. Highly recommended.
Great venue for the movies however be prepared for long wait for munchies...last 2 times at this site waited over 20 minutes to get through the line ups, both times left before purchasing as would be late for show. Reccomend setting aside 30 minutes to get food. Wonder if they set up the waiting line similar to stores with one line and go to next available clerk would work???
Great Movie Experience One of the Best Theatres in Winnipeg. And probably the biggest as well. The atmosphere is just so relaxing. They have IMAX, DBox, 3D and all the settings you can get for a movie. Just went to watch Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings yesterday and man the Experience was out of the world well the movie was awesome so. You can get the best cineplex experience and pretty much anything for free with your scene points. So get your goggles on and watch shang chi in this theater.
This theatre needs a makeover badly. It’s not very clean and the chairs are a little outdated and uncomfortable. I you go see your movie in IMAX!
Love the seats but I feel ill every time I've eaten popcorn at this location.
The reclining seats are so comfy and large, always clean, prices are cheaper than other locations, and staff are so friendly. How this place isn't packed every second it's open is beyond me. It's my favourite theatre I've ever been to.
Seats were comfortable and "spring-loaded" for tilting back. Sound was clear and high-resolution image. Saw 'Indian Horse' with a member of our book club as we just read it.
Sometimes lights aren't turned off or audio isn't loud enough. But that's rare. They've grown friendly over time.
Overall good, but they always turn the AC on way too high. Come out with a sore throat and wearing my outer wear every time.
Kendall you'll be fine. Cough at them and you'll be fine.
Best theatre in Manitoba! Prices for popcorn and drink are $25 so that insane but the theatre is top shelf
I love Imax, and it's the only reason I visit the theatre. Screen and sound are great, but the theatre #7 needs an update. Seats are Ok, don't recline much but still in good condition. The floor and carpets, however, are plain worned out and ripped. Imax glasses have not been wiped at all, gross.
This is my go to theatre and I've never had any problems. Theatres have always been cleaned after the shows. Seats are comfy, lines are usually long but they move pretty quick. Overall a great theatre
Crowded and the majority of the movie goers ignored the mask rules
Theatres are always comortable with lots of options. Series you get someone Taking tickets who has lost all love in the world. They'll tear your ticket and basically throw the stub at your feet. Don't take it personally. They get minimum wage and have to clean up after you. NOTE TO PATRONS: floor isn't a garbage bin. What's wrong with you?
The place need repairs... Like right away, it's definitely showing its age. The stalls hardly close right unless you push them hard, and when I went there 3 out of 4 hand driers were out of order.
Very nice theatre. It might need to be revitalized, hardly anyone there, very few "real" food concessions.
the staff is friendly and kind. the theatre is huge with an arcade. the movie theatre is alright but the seats are way too uncomfortable for the ticket to be 16$
The theatre itself is great and the workers before the pandemic were awesome but the management and phone service are terrible considering. I tried to find out about their policies regarding the vaccine. I couldn't find anything on the website nor could I get anyone on the phone to help me.
For a relatively new building, it is very sad that Silver City Polo Park ranks among the WORST in Winnipeg when it comes to handicapped access. First, while there *is* handicapped parking, the ramp to get up on the curb is on the other side of the parking lot. Making matters even worse, this ramp is in the busiest area where cars are constantly leaving/entering. Secondly, the ramp to get in the building makes the trek to get in the building even longer. Why the stairs even exist (or why there isn't a ramp going up the middle) is simply baffling. I don't know who designed this building, but whoever did should be very embarrassed for having disability access as an afterthought.
Great sound nice seats huge screen!
Love coming here with my son we always have such a great time
I went there today for tge very first time. I am fully vaccinated. But they still dont let me enter. I showed a proof of full vaccinated and they said you are eligible to go inside after 2 hours which makes no sense. No refund. They scanned ticket it says Scene Points but they still dont understand how i brought the ticket even i told them they dont listen. Very rude staff. Must have someone who is experienced at front
Walk into any men's bathroom in this theatre, and there will be no less then 4 litres of pee on the toilet seat and floor. Great theatre, but your gunna need at least 3 hand fulls of toilet paper to clean it up. I've seen hundreds of movies here, bathrooms are always gross.
Went to see Indian Horse, online had it showing at 7pm. Get there and the kiosk and board stated it's only playing at 10pm. Went to see another movie instead. Get out of that movie and see the theatre across from ours was playing Indian Horse! I asked an employee and she stated I should've bought my ticket from the concession stand. I told her I don't frequent movies enough to know that. She said "for next time!" Not sure when that will be! ☹️ Not impressed.
Seats r 2 clumped together. And very sqeaky! My popcorn always taste burnt for some reason and my drink never has enough ice in it to keep it cold, not even for a half hour-hour! Better upkeep must be maintained. Sorry for being so blunt, but thats the hard truth! Have a good day to who ever is reading this! :)
Always great to see a movie
Visiting from out of town, no ticket booth sales, concession area was congested and service flow was chaotic. Seating was difficult for a family of four due to no usher managing seating and patrons not wanting to have someone seated next to them. Will not attend with family in future.
Went to see Ready Player One at 7:15 pm on Friday May 4th 2018. They didn't turn on the picture during the previews but sound was going. During the movie the screen looked like it had a ghost image on it and we were showered in light from the projector the whole movie. It was like the projector was pointed down at us. At the end of movie the lights didn't come on and people were using there cell phones to see to leave. I told the manager of my concerns and he was less than apologetic. He didn't say he would look after it and get it corrected.
Enjoyed the show, clean and cool on a hot day. Only beef was light bleeding into the theatre from the hallway and messing with the onscreen projection. Was quite a while before staff finally closed the door. Fortunately the movie was pretty good (John Wick 3) and the distraction was less intrusive.
Pretty good theatre though I think it could use a few renovations to make the lobby feel nicer and improve the audio within the theatre.
Just watched Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now I don't want to go home! Scotiabank Theatre definitely has one of the best viewing experiences for movie watchers in Winnipeg! Scotiabank Theatre really ROCKS!!
Great parking for an all inclusive cinematic experience complete with arcade games and snacks. Food is quite expensive so you might decide to eat before you go. We bought popcorn and the butter was an additional $2 bringing it to almost $10! We thought it tasted off and thr manager graciously refunded our money. Click like if you found this review helpful.
The imax is great. Concessions are always tasty, and the staff are great too. Typical movie theatre prices, but that's not a surprise. Also a fun arcade inside.
It's good to be back in the theatres again! It's all reserved seating now, so there is a plus to that in no rush seating and being stuck in the front row. A big negative though is that they're is no more food available. Thankfully, popcorn and snacks are still a go, but no pizza, dogs, or burgers.
Saw 'IT'; everything was fine until I went into the actual theatre. It was 4pm. Dead in there. As I walked down the left side of the employees ticket stand, went to hand my ticket over (and there was ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ELSE THERE), the woman taking tickets (and I recognize her from precious visits, she never looks happy) told me she could not take my ticket unless I was on the right side of her booth. Literally it was she and I there in a large hallway with no other distractions or barriers. I didn't make a big deal about it, but why as an employee push buttons if you don't have to. When I went to the washroom later, she was leaning on her booth with her head in her hands. I hope things in her life get better.
Winnipegs best theater by far, big screens, great audio, and also 16 viewing areas(I believe, not sure on the total number of screens.) Omly reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because they have had some issues with the lights not turning off on time for the movie. Other than that it is a fantastic theater.
Always busy during the holidays and always understaffed at this theatre concessiions. They pulled back on their menu selections and bumped up their prices on their food yet again. Will be using the franchise less and less from now on.
I love the experience and the little games before the movie is so cool something they should do back in America
Nice, clean and friendly staffs. Lots of snacks options for the movies. I specially like the decorations inside. 3D movies and sound quality are satisfying!
Took my Daughter to see a movie, we loved it
Theater is sorta out dated. Not as many dining options as back in the day :/. When I went for my movie the theater had no audio and there was a 10 minute delay.
I enjoy being able to use the closed captioning device made available by the theatre. If you use closed captioning at home, don't hesitate to ask for this at the movies!
The one time I went, the popcorn was not as fresh as it should be and considering the price one pays for popcorn and a drink they should replace the popcorn regularly. Otherwise this theatre has been great for all the years Ive gone here!
Seats were not comfortable, arms were wobbly. Popcorn was not kernels but broken bits. Floor was very sticky. In the ladies room water barely came our of the taps and at least door was missing. I will stick with Landmark, super comfortable seats and clean.
This was possibly my worst cinema experience ever. The door to the theater was left open for half the movie casting light onto a good portion of the screen. I eventually decided to get up and close it myself as it seemed none of the employees would. The worst part however was how loud the movie was, people were covering their ears for the majority of the movie as it was painfully loud. I've had great experiences here before but this time was lacking.
My favourite big box theatre close to Downtown easy to get to parking is never an issue.
14 theatres in one place offers a variety of movies to see. Nice having it open again
This theatre is usually a little bit dirty with popcorn everywhere. Movie tickets aren't over priced which is good. Concession prices are ridiculous though which I dont like. The temps in the theatre vary from time to time, sometimes it's nice and cool but my last visit was a bit too warm so throughout the movie I was a bit uncomfortable and sweaty.
Love the seats. They are roomy and there's lots of leg room. There are also some theatres with reclining seats.
Went with friends. Huge line up for popcorn so we passed. Seats were decent. (Show sucked) Bought tickets online so no wait. All in all a good place.
We love to watch movies here
Would have given a 2 star, but it just felt so great to be back, Imax was cool, friendly staff. Unfortunately our seat had a drink spilled all in front and with limited seating not easy to just move down a seat. They really should clean between shows. Pretty nasty.
Theatres are kept as clean as possible in between films. Never had an issue with cancelled or delayed times. Staff are nice and you don't encounter issues unless you create them
A lot of memories here! Just wish they clean that giant hanging batman. It looks so dusty!
Always a good time going to the movies, the experience never dulls, I've been enjoying them and theatres like this one for many many years. This is one of the good ones in town.
Good experience. Theatre could have been a little cleaner.
Parking is plentiful which is nice. The facilities are usually clean. Out of the many times if been here the seat I've had was either so squeaky I could move a muscle the whole movie or super gross and sticky. The concessions are very good, but as any theatre it's pretty expensive. I find a lot of the time my theatre experience is ruined by other customers who can't seem to stay off their phone or refrain from narrating the movie. I've complained before asking for some of these people to be dealt with and all that the manager staff has done for me is say we can't do anything about it. I think this should be fixed. Facilities 4/5 Staff 3.5/5 Price 3/5 Seats 2/5
Fabulous, clean, good food, great parking
So many movies playing all the time, great service, would definitely recommend. Pretty decently sized arcade for the little ones as well!
Have always liked this theater, more recently there's been lots of problems with the 3d/sound/screen during previews and the timeplay segments are usually missed or don't work properly
Good self service ticket purchase kiosks. They seemed to have enough to keep the line moving good. Lots of parking. Theater seating and cleanliness was ok as well.
Have always loved to get out and enjoy a movie.. everything was clean and really enjoyed picking our seats when ordering tickets.
Definitely the best theater around in terms pf appearance, number of theaters, and an arcade. Its fairly clean also. But this is the only theater where i've encountered people kicking the back of our seats. Its happened at 2 different movies on and off through out the whole movie. I was waiting for an usher to come in last night because someone usually does and i don't like to miss my movie but no one did. So frustrating. If you can't enjoy a movie without ruining it for someone else then watch it at home when its out on dvd
Popped by to catch a Saturday afternoon movie. The floors seemed dirty, and there was some trash in our row before the movie started, yet no one else was in the row. I'm sure I'll visit again, but only because this theater may have a convenient showtime.
Love what they've done with the place under Scotia Bank. Love the price drops back to what we loved. Best thing though: anime movies are finally showing in theatres!! I went to go see the Broly movie and wasn't nearly brought to tears by the number of people there who have been waiting for movie nights like these.
Easily the best screen in town when you choose their IMAX shows. They do, however, need more staff running concessions. It takes too long on a Friday to get snacks on time unless you're way early.
This theater is always clean, well maintained and showing a wide variety of shows. The arcade has lost some of its more unique games in favour of crane games, but remains a reasonable distraction for the time-killing needs of a movie patron and their kids.
Really nice theatre. Plays movies from 1130am to 1130pm. Lots of movies to choose from. $10.99 per ticket.
Worst experience I ever had with this theatre. I had booked my showtime last week and when I went to the theatre the store representative didn’t let us In .She started asking for Immunization Card as I told the Representative that I had applied my both Vaccines but waiting for my Card as it was not complete 14 days.Upon this she refused the entry and I asked her that why would they not ask these questions on their website when we Book shows or make payments. This is all scam they are into .When I asked for my refund she stated that the Manager will refund the Amount and it has been over 1 week now,I didn’t get any refund and have been trying to contact their location and no one responds ,Worst theatre’s with worst customer service experience.????????????
Good place to see blockbuster films - good seats and sound at the IMAX. Sadly pricing of popcorn and a drink is a little high and the theaters overall could be kept a little cleaner.
Big theatre, good seats, good screens, no problems yet from the multiple movies I've seen
Love this theatre as it's been the one I mainly go to and have gone to for the past 10 years. Slightly disappointed today as the tables near the food vendors were poorly kept and after waiting for 10 mins, I decided to clean the table myself with napkins that i had got wet from the water fountain. Other than that, it was a lovely experience as the concession stands attendants were polite, courteous, and very quick with their duties.
Overall the visit was ok. The theater and washroom were fairly tidy. Movie started on time. Sound and lighting were ok. We saw a movie in 3d. Staff tell you to grab your own glasses. Seating wasn't that comfortable...the chairs are older. Overall just ok
Comfortable seats, pleasant staff. Very clean theatre. Nice family outing
Went to see Tenent. Asked the staff to turn down the volume 3 times. Still wasn't enough. If I'd had hearing protection I might have been able to stay and watch, but it wasn't worth damage to my hearing. Spoke with the manager who said they turned the column as low as they could, that the volume was just the movie and there was nothing they could do! If any employees had been in that theater they would have required hearing protection! I work in a large chemical plant, and the theatre was loider than many of the places in the plant. It was awful. Very disappointed that movie think being loud equals a good experience. This is not the first too loud movie here, but it will be my last. I would not recommend this theater and I will not be going back!
Went here to see Jurassic World in 3D. They didn't give us 3D glasses aoy husband asked for them. The employee said it wasn't a 3D movie. We told him that's what we paid extra for and he laughed at us. Then he found a bin of glasses and gave us some and then proceeded to go into the theatre where people were already sitting and hand the glasses out. Not very prepared for their shift.
there was a lot of popcorn on the ground, it looked so dirty, I was afraid to sit in the toilet seats, for the price you pay I expected it the clean, but it was not, gross place o probably will not go back
The seats are fairly uncomfortable and the movie that we went to see failed to play. They tried for 45 minutes to get it going and then gave us free passes when it wouldn't start.
Clean and friendly staff. But its gonna cost you a arm and a leg to take your woman out.
I live within walking distance so it is so convenient. Concessions are outrageously over priced but the Chai Lattes from Starbucks is a real treat. If I want a snack or pop I bring my own. The seats are awesome! The loud volume can actually hurt at times. The ticket kiosks are super fast and convenient. Still haven't decided if I'm missing the human interaction when purchasing tickets. I'm in this theater at least once a week. I love this place.
The IMax Experience theatre and the DBox are great because you can purchase you ticket and select you seat in advance. The DBox motion seats are great for the right kind of flick.
They rarely do showings in non-3D now. It's disappointing because I can't watch most new movies until weeks after they come out due to the only showings being in 3D for star trek openif weekend I had to go to st.vital. Some people can't watch 3D due to visual problems. Don't we deserve to see movies too?
Good place to watch movie and it’s close to polo park mall and other shopping place, so you have lots of choices where to go while waiting for movie.
Great theater right by Polo Park. Highly recommended.
Seats are old now and uncomfortable, price for IMAX, just jumped by $5 to $18 for non 3D. Not sure it's worth it anymore
I used to love going to the movies, but two things made for a bad time. I gave them a 20 and was supposed to get 4.75 change and was told they didn't have loonies or twoonies and asked if quarter's was ok, Then not their fault but the group closest to us was drinking booze and talking the whole movie. Probably won't be going back. Rather stream at home the good, theater was clean, staff was nice, watching the movie on a big screen was awesome, covid restrictions seemed to be working and easy to understand
Good place to catch a late night that is if you're on a date. love this theater as it is one of the few in Manitoba that play movies that others won't. For that I'll give them a five-star
Great theatre! Gotta love getting tickets at an automatic kiosk. Could use a better system for their concessions lines, but a lovely theatre for the night out none the less.
The staff were friendly and efficient. There aren't any recycling bins in the theatre at all.
Nice variety of movies, food could be cheaper, but I don't go out much, so it's not bad.
Very good service and the popcorn are delightful
New special seating. Theatre full except for the reserved seating where you have to pay extra right in the centre of the theatre. Families sitting separately. Way to make a night at the movies suck Cineplex. Here's to Netflix putting you out if business
Great job trying to limit the spread of COVID-19. But concession wise closing at 8 and saying you can still purchase products till 10 is absurd. My movie started at 7:20 I went to concession at 804 after they already opened up my product and I had tried purchasing through the ATM cuz cash is not accepted due to covid, I then run back to the theater and grabbed my better half's card as well to try that one. Which was also declined they made me stand in line to check why these cards wernt going through. At this point 20 minutes have gone by frustrated they finally tell me the concession closed at 8:00 p.m. and the ATMs were shut down and I can't do anything to go back to your seat you cannot purchase the product I just open for you and sorry that I just wasted half an hour of your movie
Saw a movie wirhotion seats i 3d. It was very cool. Theatre ran out of popcorn and that was not cool. Could not wait as we stood in line for 15 min and ran out of time to wait any longer.
Always clean theatres, but washroom dryers are loud and not very effective. I would rather brown recycled paper towels, and a recycle waste bin.
Great movie slections. All though they usual have a shorter run this theatre tends to run more independent films than other Cineplex theatres in the city.
Good experience. Able to pre order digital tickets online from cineplex website with credit card and scene points number. You can also order a scene points digital card online from the scene points app. The theater was mostly empty mid afternoon. Vaccine screening done by entrance. Contactless Movie ticket scanning was hidden behind the food vendor section and done at the back of the theater with no signs that it was behind the concession stands instead of in front of the concession stands. There was a roped off area beside the ticket scanner, so you can go around the rope after getting tickets confirmed. Seats are close together but you can distance if you pick a movie without many other people. It's hard to know how many of the other seats are booked as the map when pre booking seats didn't appear to show the booked seats vs available. Movies actually start on time now vs showing previews for several minutes, so it's easier to minimize time inside.
Great theater with IMAX. Fun bit can get crowded. Buy your tix ahead of time and be sure to collect scene points
Movies I saw in this theatre: -Shrek The Third (I think) -Up -Toy Story 3 -Cars 2 -Madagascar 3 -Monsters University -Frozen -The LEGO Movie -Big Hero 6 -The Hobbit 3 -The Avengers: Age Of Ultron -Inside Out -Ant Man -Star Wars The Force Awakens -The Avengers: Civil War -Sing -Spider-Man: Homecoming -Ant Man & The Wasp -Smallfoot -Spider-Man: Far From Home Great Theatre!
Awesome place to see movies. All first run films, lots of available showtimes, 3D and DBox movies available. Concessions are pricey, food is pretty good. Great place to hang out with friends or go on a date.
A very nice theatre aesthetically. Comfortable seats. Pretty stanard theatre overall. One thing that could be improved is the staff could be more friendly. They seem to just be going through the motions and sometimes don't try to look happy at all.
Great friendly service and theater to myself I just watched tenet sooo good in my opinion if you love to follow time travel action
Pretty great place. Arcade is alot fun. Theatres are good and clean and screens and sound are decent. Staff is great. The IMAX experience is a bit lacking. It's not like an actual Imax screen, it's not as giant and impressive. The sounds and picture quality were very good though
Screen & sound are still great but the chairs and overall atmosphere needs an update. There is also a stale smell lingering around.
Great location , onsite arcade, plenty of theater rooms with decent food options within the facility
One of the Canadian movie theatre where I went to see my first movie in Canada, and to be honest I don’t even remember the name of that movie though. It was more like experiencing a Canadian theatre from inside.
they have been cutting down costs lately they used to have workers where you can buy tickets from there and not at some machine. they used to have way more people working at the commission stand but of course they got rid of so many people to make more money, now it takes a very long time in line and the line ups are huge all the time especially if there’s a new popular movie on. they now have only one person working to see your ticket, they used to have two on each side. they are cutting down costs for everything and making movie tickets and popcorn and drinks way more expensive. lately less people have been going to movies because why should they go there when they have netflix and other renting movie programs which is a lot cheeper.
Typical large theater, 14 screens so it usually has lots of movie options. Seats in many of the screens are cracked or damaged. Washroom taps are frigid and there are few working soap dispensers. Washrooms tend to not be very clean.
Prices are ridiculous, get a car better experience with Landmark Theatres. They have massive reclinable seats, they are even more comfortable then D-Box and it’s the same darn price!!!!!!
It's really good. Food is really good too. Miss the Burger King that was there few years ago. Otherwise I would watch a movie there any time.
Staff were super nice and helpful when we got a little turned around (first time being there). Clean environment.
It's a nice place but too expensive. I'm deaf and often I have the struggle with the closed caption device. I don't really enjoyed so I'm not a regular. Once a year is enough.
Used to love the theater.. this time not so much... girls beside us on phone and talking entire movie... concession cost more than the admission. Machine for loading games cards wouldn't take any of our Bill's. Seats were comfy.. I lole that they recline a bit and theater was a nice temperature which is nice.
Theatre six smells like dirty mop water. Other than that it's a great theater!
They have 3D and 4d and imax options. Wide selection of movies and pretty reasonable. Great deals on Tuesday and great deal for kids every sunday
They need to do a good clean in here. Very dusty and in need of a paint job.
Love IMAX and 3D experiences! Clean & well staffed. Easy to check-in with my smartphone when we purchased our tickets online.
Great, clean theatre. Last movie I went to the previews were way too loud! Thankfully the movie was at a good volume.
ScotiaBank theater had excellent seating, great staff, but is a little overpriced, overall i had a great experience at this theater and i'm excited to say i will be back!!
The IMAX theatre is great. Fantastic audio and visuals. Picking your seat is also a huge bonus. They need more kiosks.
A lot of smokey grease hanging in the air, burnt the lungs. The game card machine was down. Party room tables were filthy and wobbly as hell, my goddaughter almost face planted because one nearly tipped.
Surprisingly good! I got the Simple Burger, it was hardy, filling and delicious. It was also $10 dollars. I have to say the price is good, the food was really good and the atmosphere could have been a little better. If you're looking for a quiet place to have an awesome burger and chat with your friends, this is the place to go.
IMAX was a great experience but a warning, the volume is very loud and could be uncomfortable. I would recommend a pair of the foam ear plugs if you are sensitive and wanting to see an action movie.
The theater is not very clean- popcorn and trash on the floor by the seats, , seats were dirty so check for streaks of butter (I hope that was butter ????) The popcorn was ok.
It's kinda falling apart. Time for a refresh. Other theatres have better seats. Just sayin
It's a great experience, 12 theatres all the big movies, special events and throwbacks. I ate at Outtakes for the first time and it was great.
Service for a Sunday show was pretty bad: there was simply not enough staff, and the staff that were there did not seem to be in a hurry, the ticket vending machines were backed up, as was all lines at the snack counter. Sticky floors are to be expected but I should not take 3 to 5 minutes to serve someone a drink and popcorn.
Decent but nothing special. Drinks are smaller than some other theatres in Winnipeg and not refillable. Last seat I had was broken. My third choice of multiplexes in Winnipeg. Good amount of parking.
It was my first time back to a theatre since the pandemic started and i have to say the experience was like walking into the movies as a kid, the service was top notch, movie was great and the snacks were probably what i missed most from the movies
First time to theatre. Advertises pizza pizzza, No pizza pizza at all. No sound in theatre 6. Got a refund. Wasted my afternoon off. Never to return. Better off staying in and streaming.
The managers are pretty horrible, specially this dark woman who was very unprofessional when she handled our scenario, trying to make us look dumb for something very minut. They need better casts as well. A cast member named Kyle was very rude to me, hope he gets fired soon.
3D Was OK but I didn't like the seating the chairs moved and swiveled making it uncomfortable to me.
Our go to ever since. Really great place to watch movies.
Every time I go it’s on tuesdays because tickets are way too expensive, I also always bring my own snacks. But what really bugs me are the arcade games. Every time I use to go see a movie the claw machines were the highlight of the night, getting a little souvenir of your trip. But now with the card I can’t use my pocket change to play games, and when I finally decided to get a card the other day, after months of refusing, the machine wouldn’t even take my bill! Stood in the concession line for 10 minutes just to repeat over and over again that we wanted to exchange our $10 bill for a new one to get a game card, and the guy still didn’t understand! It’s so frustrating that something so simple now has to be so difficult and inconvenient. Such a waste of money what they did to the arcade games.
6.50 CAD for a large soda without refill is just not fair! The rest was good.
Feels great to be back at the theater, super clean, love the previews ???? can't wait to go again!
We joined the line at the ONE person serving tickets and food. We joined when there were about 10 people in line. Itracked someone down and told her and she said there was supposed to be two people. After nothing happened I tracked the …
Add Indian movies To your Cinema…. You will get great business. Thank you
Seats are comfortable and overall movie quality fine but really expensive. Not an ideal family destination for those on a strict budget. However there are arcade games for all ages which is fun for everyone, but also a little pricey
Cineplex needs to follow suit with Landmark. The comfortable reclining seats are fantastic at Landmark. I found the seats narrow and uncomfortable at IMAX Cineplex. The screen and audio is very good quality but I can get the same with better seating at Landmark.
Giving this place a mediocre review because the chose a stupid name for their theater. This is Polo Park, not "Scotia Bank". You deserve less but I'm feeling generous.
One of my first choices when wanting to watch a movie in Winnipeg. One of the cleaner well maintained Theatre's. But can become very busy during the weekends or during big movie premieres. I recommend you show up early for your showing because parking can sometimes be very challenging.
Free movie Saturday morning...got to watch Elf! Popcorn, drinks and candy are $2.50 each and goes to a good cause.
Theres always a great selection of the latest blockbusters playing here. Comfortable seats but if you wish to avoid the big crowds I would recommend day time on weekdays. It's pricy but what concession stand isnt. The snacks are very good to enjoy with the new movies!
I'm trying to get an actual person to talk to and it appears they have completely cut out human interaction completely not happy will never go there til some can answer the phones
It's gone downhill in the last five years. Floors stained and needs an upgrade. Wish the seats reclined properly instead of bouncing back and forth like a sea saw or wooden horsey.
Helpful service, convenient layout and excellent theatres with über comfortable seats. Our favourite theatre in this city. Unbelievably expensive treat now a days
Very happy as the restrictions are no longer in effect.
Horrible place. The floor smells, they forget to turn off lightswhen movie starts. They allow underage children in R rated films. They have horrible parking, unsafe to walk across to the theatre. …
The place has a sweet arcade in the main lobby that's worth going to even if you're not there to watch a movie. It's a serious boon since there are not many places like it off the top of my head in the city. The movie selection is usually pretty good and overall the movie watch experience is not that bad. The biggest issues I have with the theatre are the prices for even a bag of popcorn and a drink I kind of insane and the seats are kinda cramped. It's not like most other theatres have the same issue though. Overall it's what you'd expect from any other movie theatre, with the exception that's it's a bit bigger than the other ones around the area. The thing that really makes it stand out though, is the sweet arcade, it definitely bumps my review up a star.
I have never had a bad experience at Scotiabank theatre. I've been going to this theatre for many years with my friends and family and I have always had a great time. The location is also very convenient.
Went today for first time. Saw the upside and enjoyed and enjoyed the theatre too. Not quite as gala as VIP theatre. Had good variety of movies and snacks. Good access by car and bus.
Only theater with Imax in the city.
Typical big movies there...all your standard stuff...arcade and over priced popcorn. The kids that run the place are a tad clueless at times. Had some rude dude employee get snippy one time. But all in all...pretty good experience.
I like going here. The theatres are big and spacious with very comfortable seating. I can purchase tickets in the app before arriving and avoid the line. Usually a good array of movies to choose from
Dirty theatres and bathrooms. Way understaffed. No snow clearing done in weeks. Clearly being mismanaged. Sound was good but really not much to rave about.
I've been going here since it opened and I've never had a bad time. I was wondering how they'd handle the recent COVID19 issues, but it was a really great experience. Staff were great; fast, friendly and professional. I liked the assigned, socially-distanced seats. Not too crowded. Only a couple of minor gripes: I wish they'd turn off the lights during the trailers, and I wish the lights would remain off during the end credits.
Comfy seats. Great staff, at the concession and keeping the theater clean. Saw Midway.
Staff was good and cognizant of safety measures.
Its ok if you go on a tue to get a cheaper price for a movie ticket. Drinks and popcorn are very expensive. Get a scene card it does add up and help.
Theatres need a good cleaning and the popcorn station a refreshing facelift. Other than that quick friendly service.
Super unhappy with the removal of the box office area. Line ups are much longer when you have people buying food and tickets in the same lines. The staff are even complaining about this change. Waited 30 min to get tickets. Theate was filthy. Pizza and a cup under the seat we first sat in. We have always loved coming here but everything is a mess these days.
Good theater. Helpful staff. Convenient location. It would help if staff would be more aware of volume levels inside the theater. The previews and movie was uncomfortably loud.
I dislike how they got rid of their ticket sales people and switched to the machines to do it yourself. During my last visit I somehow made a mistake on the machine and didn’t realize that I paid for an extra ticket when I was only trying to use my scene points. It was nice of the ticket checker to notice and tell me I could get a refund at the counter. Also the prices for drinks and popcorn are way too much. I’d be more likely to buy drinks and popcorn if it was cheaper and so would many other people. Which would mean more money for the theatre. It costs less than a dollar per drink and less than a dollar for popcorn to make. The mark up is astronomical. Other than that I usually enjoy going to the theatre.
I think that the movie was great and clear and awesome and the pop corn was awesome but my butt was sore after and I was "butt hurt" Haha
Theatre screen was big, sound was great, D Box seats were an experience worth trying. My disappointment was with the cleanliness of the place. The entire theatre smells like a dirty teenager who hasn't showered in a week. I would not recommend this place until the stench is addressed. Who wants to buy a tub of ???? for $20 to eat in someone's sweaty sock drawer! Too bad cause the movie experience with your nose plugged would have been 5 stars.
The seats are comfortable the movies are great and they have a good selection of junk food
Great quality showings and fairly diverse movies every week. Just had some troubles in a couple of screenings, like The French Dispatch in which part of screen was cut off and we couldnt read the subtitlles from the french part.
This theatre has gone downhill.. Too expensive! So uncomfortable! The seats are terrible to sit in for long periods of time. Its a shame cause its within walking distance but I will take the car ride elsewhere next time for a more pleasureable experience. Go to Landmark!
Very hot and stuffy. Movie was almost over before we felt relief and fresh air
Breanna & Bill were absolute legends. I did not book my tickets on the correct date but they were both kind enough to exchange my tickets for the correct time at no additional cost.
It's a theater... not clean, popcorn is eh, and the seats are sub par. Just recently I took my 7 children and we were harassed by 2 drunk men at the concession line. They were still allowed to stay even though they could barely stay standing. And in the theater a man stood up from his seat and started to aggressively masturbate in the theater in front of everyone and to the right side of my children. Thank goodness it was dark. Management removed and did not bother to apologize or address the situation with its patrons. All other times we have been here have been okay hence the 3 stars. Winnipeg is rapidly declining with its poor customer service and inflated pricing.
Great movie we have the moving seats so made it more enjoyable. Also got free snacks which was a bonus
Lots of the games were broken, sadly. The place was kind of a mess considering there were not many people there and there was lots of staff.
Theatre starting to show its age. Staff seem pretty disorganized. Not all that clean either. Maybe replace a couple run down theatres with VIP...
Nice theater with confortable seats. Lots of movies to choose from. Has afternoon movies which is nice too. Like any movie theater... Concessions are very expensive. It's nice having Polo Park Mall steps away.
I got there 25mins before the movies starts and went to grab starbucks coffee and the staff totally ignored me, I was the only one standing , stood there for about 5mins and no one came to take my order. Also the theatre smelled bad, before the movie started a staff walked in and sprayed the theater with air freshner, helped a little.
No social distance, went to see movie yesterday but the theater was fully booked.
We recently took the family to this theater to see Kung Foo Panda 3 which is a special treat for us due to the high cost of going to the movies. The film was OK, but not as good as the reviews. The theater was cold and the popcorn was …
Always love going to the theatre. Only thing that sucks is the slow staff. Could be just me but the popcorn taste different now. Also, looks like they got rid of the seat and treat combo where they switched it from getting 1000 scenes points and a drink popcorn and candy to getting 200 scene points a drink popcorn and candy and a digital download of the movie when available. Seems like a RIP off to me.
Nothing like a flic to make the night go better. Line ups move fast. Commissary is always way too expensive but par for the course.
Concession area is always dirty. Tables and other food areas are never cleaned. Staff walks around with brooms, but fail to clean floors. Perhaps supervisors should spend time supervising.
Seats are reasonably spaced. Theater is typical public fare. We had won tickets to a premiere preview, otherwise I wouldn't have gone, but that's because I prefer VIP theater seating.
Seats need to be repaired
I normally go to Grant Park theater which I find the seats more comfortable and roomy. I also found this theater expensive for snacks. Two medium popcorn, two medium drinks, two packages of licorice, a child's mini pack and one plain hotdog was $58.00. I will continue to stick with my Landmark theater in the future.
Theatre is old, outdated and dirty. Washrooms are filthy, mostly out of order... Dull and bland food options. This is always the last resort to see a movie.
Bathrooms are always filthy. Theatres themselves aren't all that clean either. Lots of parking. Lineups aren't usually too bad.
Comfortable seating, good workers. Daughters birthday party was so much fun and well organized by the workers. Food was on time and delicous.
Staff member was very unprofessional. Management staff do not know how to handle there staff members. Staff member actually tried to threaten my family insisting on following us to our vehicle to vandalize it . Would actually like to speak to the general manger about this issue
I haven't been to this theatre in years, so disappointing, the place overall was filthy, theater chair were cracked and need a good wipe down. I will stick with Grant Park theater.
What I liked on this day was that my attendant scanner wasn't working. We waited for his supervisor to give him a new one but then he couldn't log in so instead of having us wait any longer he just took down the barcode number of tickets as we were itching to go get a good seat in the middle to catch Jumanji 2.
It was nice to get out to the theater. It was clean and orderly I will definitely be going back again.
Good movies etc etc. However. All their games are broken i took out my friend to make her day. Tried to play video games to kill time their all broken ,out of order and there are no signs. I asked the staff for a new card ao i couod come back another time . Or even just a refund they cant refund you. They cant help you. Nothing. Waste of money waste of time just another headache.
My first choice for movie theatres in Winnipeg.
D-Box seats for Dune were excellent - highly recommend
The seats are no longer comfortable and rarely clean. They want you to show up early to watch the previews and play Timeplay, yet you just sit there staring at a blank screen until showtime. The customer experience is sub-par. If you want a great movie experience, skip this theatre.
Absolutely disgusting. We went to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 in IMAX 3D and were appalled by the conditions. The reek of urine emanating from the washrooms was overwhelming, the 3D glasses looked like they were dipped in a bucket of grease and the theatre itself was reminiscent of Brady Road Landfill. Unless they have some sort of contract with the Public Health Agency of Canada to culture communicable diseases for testing purposes, there is no excuse for a theatre to be in this condition.
Recliner Chairs are quite comfortable, They should inform customers that the popcorn they make is the salty type. I kinda was expecting sweet popcorn. It ended up in the bin.
Service is good, good sound, friendly staff, but didn't like the seats. Reclined too much. Hard to get comfortable.
Nice location. Friendly staff
Great theatre. Comfortable chairs, great sound. What more could you want?
I just recently came here for the first time and let me tell you I was not disappointed! They have so many wonderful food options, much more then any other movie theater I've ever been in! They have the most delicious frozen yogurt and fresh fruit toppings! The staff was extremely nice and very positive! For my benefit there were plenty of restrooms and also wheelchair accessible stalls! The prices here can't be beat either, and the smaller but still comfortable theaters are the major selling point for me, not just for the comfy recliner chairs ;) but the theaters all around positive environment was lovely! I will definitely be coming here to see movies much more often!
It was very warm in the building but movie was good and the young lady working the food counter was very helpful .... after buying tickets at a machine that didn't give me tickets...
I love the seats i am a short person at my age 45 and i am glad i can see the screen not bunch of peoples heads.. i go to polo theathers plus St.vital as well...
The seats are very uncomfortable. Compared to the beautiful recliner seats at other theaters these are terrible. The theater was clean. Popcorn was too many kernels for the price.
I was very disappointed in the show I saw tonight. The volume was cranked up to the point the kids required earplugs to be able to watch the movie and when the volume was brought to the attention of staff we were dismissed.
Saw river cruise in three d do not sit too close enjoyed the show
Good theatre. The arcade has been downsized but is still relevant. Staff are pretty great, and it's normally clean as well.
Today I went to see the latest Hobbit movie. There's nothing wrong with the theater, but the sound was deafening/overwhelming. If their maximum sound setting for the theater is 10 on the dial, they had it at a 15. It was so loud that it hurt. When the manager was advised of the loudness, he was reluctant to turn it down. He finally turned it down to an 11 on their dial. Even then it was extremely loud. Are these theaters set on automatic run? Does anybody check on the sound level? Does anybody care?
Friendly customer service. Plenty to do while waiting for the movie to start. Only real problem was the fountain drink was stale but easily got a new one for free
Great venue to watch Venom but should have better posted that film was 3D and glasses required. Many patrons went scrambling upon discovering that.
Last night I was charged an extra $4.50 for butter after I had already paid $25 for the combo deal that they had for 2 medium popcorns, 2 medium drinks and a candy of my choice. In my opinion, the butter should’ve been free after paying $25 ????... When I went to go cash my ticket in for the food, the cashier asked if I wanted to add butter on both popcorn, I said yes and was shocked when the cashier told me it was gonna be an extra $4.50 to add butter for both popcorn (at first, the cashier said it was gonna be $4.50, then later said “sorry it’s $5” then changed their mind again and said “no sorry it’s actually $4.50”)???? It seemed like this cashier didn’t know what they were doing.. and the worst thing about it all was that the popcorn tasted horrible, it felt like my friend and I were both eating nothing but kernels. The top of my bag consisted of small popcorn bits that you would only find at the bottom of the bag, the popcorn halfway through my friends bag started to taste burnt... never again man
I went there to and the last at the entrance a was rude.
Haven't been to a movie theater in 5 years . I've just been reminded why , the prices are INSANE! For a drink and popcorn . But I saw Dune , which was great and that's what the 4 stars is for.
I go to the Scotiabank Theatre in Winnipeg (by the Polo Park mall) once in a while. It used to be my go-to movie theatre until I switched over to the competing theatre at Grant Park mall. Scotiabank Theatre is feeling a bit dated and the seats can be pretty gross (e.g., musty stale popcorn smell... or worse?). The TimePlay feature (a wireless interactive phone game to play while you wait for the movie to start) used to be fun, but they've made the prizes a fraction of what they used to be and modified it so the game is used as a tool to get people in the seats 20-30 minutes early to subject them to unwanted advertisements. They so have good movies and the visual and sound quality are pretty good. It's just that... presently, there are better, cleaner, more comfortable, etc. theatres you can go to other than here to enjoy them.
I've been going here for over 10 years and never had an issue with the cleanliness of the theater until Tues, Jan 23/18. We went to the 10:30PM screening of Den of Thieves and no one cleaned the theater from the earlier show. Empty cups, popcorn, nacho trays, melted ice cream and candy wrappers filled the floor and cup holders. Not sure if they were low in staff that evening, but it was completely unacceptable and unsanitary.
Always feel safe during visits. Consistent cleaning protocols
Movie was amazing in 3d Imax. The actual chairs you sit in dont compare well with other theatres like grant park
Tonight's showing of aquaman was so loud that I had to find something in my purse to cover my youngest kids ears. This was the second time that the movie experience was not enjoyable due to volume. Will try landmark for our next outing.
Love this place!!! Food and drinks are quite pricey though.
Beautiful theatre with huge foyer and plethora of screens. Obviously food is pricey but its a great theatre - usually pretty busy.
Food and drinks are insanely overpriced and if you are fine with that the wait is long. Theatres are cold. It’s so stupid that I can’t see the showtimes for Friday until 2 days before but I can see Saturday (the day after)!
These at this place are HORRIBLE! Avoid!
Food and drinks are RIDICULOUSLY (and I really do mean absurdly) overpriced... But unfortunately, that is to be expected at most theaters. Otherwise, I very pleasant experience! And nice friendly staff
Good place to go.except for when people don't keep their feet to themselves and constantly kick the back of your seat.if your one of these inconsiderate people .. go die
Clean, movie started on time but there was no preshow, we had to sit and stare at a black screen. The staff were also not too friendly.
The experience is not worth the price. Better quality picture and sound is available at home. People checking their phones during the movie is annoying. Concession mark up is ridiculous, don't be so greedy
I liked the separation of the seats. I'll be headed back soon.
This place is a disgrace. They have no frozen treats for me to enjoy. How am I supposed to pay attention to my movie when all I can think about is how warm my mouth is, and how that could be fixed with some freakin mini melts. Th I machine was EMPTY. How hard is it to REFILL IT?? I wish I could give it 0 stars.i cried in the bathroom for an hour and missed my movie
A shadow of its former self. Back when they had Burger King and Pizzahut in this location. When seasoning was free and not an additional cost. When it was fresh and new. This theatre was second to none. Now with a run down arcade, smaller drink sizes, saltier popcorn and rickety seats this theatre has been plunged into the dirt. I look at this place as an option still but one that wouldn’t be my first or second choice. Please breathe some new life into this once Final destination for all movie goers. It’s sad to see what Silvercity ( Scotia Bank Theatre) has become
I like coming to this theatre. Seats are reasonably comfortable. Good selection of movies play here at convenient times. There are a couple things I don't like, and these all relate to what I'm sure are Cineplex Corporate HQ decisions. One is that they got rid of the box office and replaced it with kiosks. Since many people (including me) do not like to use the kiosk, this clogs up the popcorn line and makes it take longer than it needs to to get both popcorn and your ticket. Another relatively minor thing is that they force their staff to ask if I'd like any combos. If I wanted one, I'd order one on my own, thanks!
We booked a movie for a large group of children including children's popcorn snack. Our group was served and seated quite smoothly.
Awful seats. The seats are as loose as Jenna Jamison and the second you put any weight on them they flop back offering zero support, leaving you either needing a pillow behind your head or a neck like Brock Lesnar to view the screen in any level of comfort. By the time I was half way through a movie I was in need of a neck brace and a physiotherapist. The food is grossly overpriced as well, the smallest size of popcorn is $6.55.
Its opened again! The only thing that would make me feel more comfortable is the theatre getting the QR reader for the covid cards.
Good seats and theatres but the food and drinks are priced too high. Slightly lower prices would encourage more business for the food and drink vendors
Got here early and wanted to have something to eat. Asked an employee to have our table wiped and she said she would get someone. Twenty minutes later and we are still waiting....and it's dead in here!
Helpful staff and good safety protocols
Seats are very uncomfortable. Popcorn not the best. Bigger and better at Silver City St.Vital.They dont really chrck your tickets so i could have got in free as they assumed my husband had both and put us forward.
The inside of the theatres are always sticky and gross. People in the theatre always talk and some did not smell too great which were distractions. My dad has experienced this before and is the reason why I cannot watch movies at the theatre with my dad. We usually watch movies at home now as the prices for popcorn or any food there is expensive. Outtakes in the lounge uses packaged food you can buy at the grocery store and they charge you an arm and a leg for below average quality food.
Great place to watch movies and the lines are significantly shorter during big movie premieres. Only issue is that they don't have d-box or I-max 3D... They do have regular 3D and really amazing sound systems. Over its an amazing place to watch movies ans hangout. There is also an arcade with many games which makes it all the more enjoyable spending time there.
Just saw jurrasic world - part 2. We watched the 955pm show in auditorium 4. It was very very loud. All of us (there were 4 of us) actually wanted to walk out within the first 10 mins of the movie. We also asked other random patrons after the movie and they also agreed that it was way too loud. Horrible horrible experience. I don't think I would be patronizing this location anymore.
Over my 14 years or so of visiting Winnipeg, I’ve always seen movies at this theatre. The staff has always been polite and helpful. The theatres are clean. The sound system is very clear. The seats very comfortable. I would highly recommend putting the money out to experience the 3-D IMAX theatres.
Always enjoyable. Theaters are clean... variety of goodies offered.better than Landmark by far.
Nice to see a movie again. Dune was great
It's starting to show it's age. The general seating is worn out and hard to get comfortable in. On this visit it was quiet but I ended up with stale popcorn and the topping was pure oil no flavor.
Had a small panic attack . (Too many people at a a previous location) Within 3-5 mins the welcoming atmosphere of this place made me feel almost right at home
Wow! Considering all of the concerns out there at this time with Covid, THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST TIME TO GO for a movie!!! We went Sunday July 9/20 for a 6:15pm movie. Wonder Woman. The place is IMPECCABLY clean! Popcorn & drinks as usual - - great! We went to our seats we had chosen earlier (yes! There's a screen at the counter from which you choose your seats!) In this very large theatre it was almost like seeing a sci-fi movie had just been played out live...perhaps an alien abduction one. One where everyone was snatched away, with only one lady, the sole other occupant of a seat, to be left back. And so we made it to our seats, in this spotlessly clean gigantic room. My husband, myself and the other patron we'll call Joan. Why Joan? I don't know...she looked like a Joan. Pleasant, quiet demeanour. Only odd thing during the movie was: i- not hearing others laugh, ii- not worrying about how to cut out of the row if you need to pee iii- ask each other why we're whispering? Joan was social distancing so far away that if I'd cough I'd truly be Wonder Woman for the droplets to get to her! Safety issues? Well, even had there been many there, the seating was set up EXTREMELY well. We felt safer there than when in Walmart, Superstore, Costco and on the street! GO SEE A MOVIE! Before they all are closed again! And THANKS Scotiabank Theatre for being open!
Find it ridiculous that the only showing of aquaman in standard was at 330 when it's probably the most popular movie out. Talk about a cash grab! Pay twice as much to see a movie on a slightly bigger screen. As if movies aren't expensive enough... then deal with grumpy employees that clearly hate their job. Steller night at the movies, not.
Theatre was fine but unfortunately these places think everyone wants to recline in a seat... I feel like I'm laying down in those seats. It'd be great if you could lock them into a comfortable position.
Big place, lots of screens... as a result lots of people. Unfortunately, not enough staff, specifically cleaners.
25 bucks for 2 medium drinks and a large popcorn. Probably only worth $10 at most. Not to mention the popcorn was dry and kept prebaged under a heat lamp; like eating expensive fluffy cardboard.
Nice place but the staff at popcorn shop don tell you can get extra butter for free from where you get straws just before aud 6. They do ask if you need butter if you say yes its not free. Lol
It is a Huge movie thatre. I think you will not miss almost all major movies.
Went to see Sing 2, the staff were helpful and friendly. The washrooms and theatre were very clean.
I wish they had not done away with the cashiers. I do not like the automated machines. They first person I asked for help was quite rude and not very helpful at all. Going to the food counter is always an option now but it is often congested with people buying food. I do like the theatres and enjoy watching movies there.
Good deal with their tuesday cheap prices. Friendly staff, lots of theatres and always a good variety of movies. They really need to fix or replace a lot of their chairs though because the reclining backs are worn out and make you lay back whether you want to or not.
You would think that with the extreme food prices and high ticket prices, they would be able to afford staff to shut the idiots up. The number of times I have had a movie ruined because of a group of losers who are desperate for attention and believe that everybody in the movie theatre needs to hear what hey have to say, is ridiculous. Last movie I went to, I missed most of the movie and left with a headache.
Standard Cineplex theater. Very close to Polo Park Mall in St. James. Good selection of movies. No major problems in the few times I have gone there. The arcade is overpriced with just a few arcade games. As with all other Cineplex theaters, the snacks are over priced. We usually get one regular popcorn and request small paper bags that we then divide the popcorn into for the kids.
Unreal what has happened to this area the last few years. Bad experience every time we go. Theatre is filthy. Look at the dust on batman. The clientele are mostly low income people with no public space etiquette. Last time was the Chinese kid scratching dandruff on to us all movie. Time before that was the drunk aboriginal woman crushing beers in the theatre then burping and kicking the cans around. Landmark is now the only civilized place to watch a movie.
Like most theaters over priced food. Nice theater and location. 2 grandparents and two youths cost you nearly $100.
Great location, lots of parking, modern interior with games and food choices. theatres are clean and a good size.
I love the movies like every other person. Scotia bank is a great theater to visit. Was clean. I went to the IMAX experience for the lion king and the screen size was impressive. Loud sound, not for those who can't handle it such as some of the elderly or those with hearing issues. But I loved it and it didn't seem like anyone was complaining. Friendly staff, allowed me to cut the line to grab a tray that my wife forgot which allowed me to get into the movie on time. They did forget the butter on my wife's popcorn which she is crazy about but they quickly added more without hesitation.
Love the cineplex Family Favorite Event. Lots of good movies to choose from at only $2.99 per ticket.
I took my daughter to see Frozen 2 for her birthday! The staff here were awesome. Thanks for the great service!
Had a great time here. Theatre was super clean and movie started on time. Staff was super nice and accommodating!! Thanks so much
Aside from my cane walking mom tripping in the front far left entrance on a raised metal rail and going flying into the second entrance door we had a good time. Theatre was comfortable, clean, staff were polite, prices were a touch high for concession but that is what it is.
Great place for evening out with family to catch a movie, popcorn and soft drinks. If you have small children, great place for birthday parties.
Couldn't get the kiosk to work at all. No staff at the register close to it. Had to go to the register where popcorn etc is sold. Person there rang everything up. Forgot to swipe my scene card. Kids there are clueless and don't care. Movie was good though.
Shala (Dawn) McKay was very polite and she made a great impression on me. I would for sure come back and watch another movie sometime when I get the chance too. Dawn was very helpful and she didnt make a mistake she was vey quick on cash …
Movie going is nice, but expensive. If you happen to collect scene points, it makes it easier to get out. I can't say anything bad other than price and maybe the seats could use updating. Decent theatre all around.
The theatre is great. It's clean and efficient just a bit of a drive.
It's been a while since I've been to the movies, but just seen Star Wars (Rise Of the Skywalker), and other then everything being extremely over priced it was an experience that I kinda missed back when I was going every Sunday night, thank you for a enjoyable evening.
Lately this theatre has been lacking with service. The atmosphere is decent and some movie theatres experience speaker issues which is annoying when you pay a lot of money for movie and popcorn and experience of the big screen with all the surround sound.
Very good theatre. One of the biggest in Winnipeg. It does get too crowded at times. Nevertheless it offers a lot.
Generally pretty clean with polite and efficient staff.
Great place for movies old and new. Very accessable and has a great parking lot. I just have to deduct one star for inflated concession prices, but they are similar across the city.
Love their $2.99 seasonal specials and discounted Tuesdays. The reclining seats are nice too.
I love that it has so many theatres so they can show movies that might not be in the other theatres in winnipeg. I wish their Xscape gaming area was more like the one at St. Vital. They just seem to get St. Vitals old broken down games.
Not enough staff to serve the people their popcorn and drinks and sell the tickets. My seat was very uncomfortable, broken.
Decent experience, but seats could be comfier. And quite over priced imo. 80+ dollars for a movie I can download and watch at home for free :(
Worst experience of our life. We got there early, tried to input our coupons with no success. By the time we got to an employee the show was full. A total waste of 34 minutes! ...and two coupons Really don't want to give any stars
This theatre feels dated and grimey compared to others in the City. Walked into theatre right as the cleaning staff were walking out and floors were still littered with popcorn bags and cup holders were full of items. Seats seem to be narrower than others as well.
The theatre smelled like urine, the floors were so sticky my shoes kept getting stuck. Disappointed for the price.
Was very disappointed with the Starbucks and ice cream area. Tried to get Starbucks for the 7 pm show and everything was shut down. Had 4 people working there but was nothing to order. Theatre was great and comfortable.
Did not enjoy our first visit. We've seen better facilities. This place requires renovation to bring it to a more modern look.
I love this theatre. There's this really sweet old man named Nick, who is the projectionist. He gave me a golden ticket once owned by Harry Houdini, just so I could go see the newest Jack Slater film, and man, was that ever a trip.
Didn't have anyone available to help the elderly people buy tickets. C'mon man, not everyone knows how to operate the self serve ticket machine.
