This VIP theatre is truely game changing. No kids, liquordrinks served at your seat and a bar to get a little tipsy prior to movies. Recommend 100% give it a go for only a few more bucks than a normal theatre.

Haven't been to the McGillivray theatre since it was "the cheap theatre". We ended up in theatre 7 which is one of the original theatres. Still in great shape. We didn't pay double or more to sit in chairs that move in sync to the motion of the movie. I'm cheap and also don't need any extra stimulation. Theatre had plenty of seating and was not full on cheap Tuesday for a movie that opened only 5 days earlier. We liked it...action with several humorous moments. We went to a sushi restaurant before the movie and brought in our own food and drinks. I love that option now. Maybe if they didn't charge $8 for the same bag of Reese's mini on cups I bought for $2.50 at Superstore...I might have bought something there. Again...I'm also cheap. Movie night for 2 for $13.98 was a good night.

Three negative stars because the auto door opener did not work. Wheelchair seats are not very deep if you are in a recumbent chair. Luckily, we were the only wheels so were able to use up two spots and watch from an angle. The two stars are for the ticket taking people who jumped to assist with the stair lift. The lift just fits a recumbent chair in a fully upright position.

This theatre is in need of a major upgrade. Seats are uncomfortable, small and lean back too far. You get spoiled when you always go to Grant Park Theatre and have ample space and recliners. Cineplex can learn a thing or two from Landmark theatre.

The VIP theater is great. Large spacious seating, cupholder and tray for food. Food and liquor served. Reserved seating. Separate washrooms from regular theaters. Regular theater is like any other. Often hard to get parking. Come early

$20 for a movie ticket to sit in large comfy seats in front of a tiny movie screen. It's a luxury but not a necessary one. Often the in seat service is just way to slow, it takes 5 minutes for a server to take an order and payment, so if there's a couple people ahead of you ordering you might miss the in seat service cutoff. This then defeats the purpose as you have to awkwardly get up out of your comfy seat you paid $20 for to go stand in line like a non VIP would.

The VIP Theatre is my favourite way to watch a movie. Book your tickets on your phone, select your seat (no seat search anxiety) & you are on your way. The oversized leather seats are really comfortable, and you don't have to worry about who is sitting next to you, because there is a table between you and the stranger next to you. The staff takes your order from the menu (if you choose) and the food is quite good! The staff is also incredibly friendly. There is a mini-starbucks inside and we once ordered a frappuccino. They don't officially make frappuccinos there, but the barista hunted down a blender and made us his best attempt at a frappuccino at no-charge. At most theatres, you are herded in and out of the theatre like cattle, at the VIP Theatre on McGillivray, you are treated like royalty. This is why my wife and I have no problem paying the slight premium to enjoy a movie here.

Nice night out without kids, we even get to leave our kids at home! Great service, little pricey but you are paying for the experience and it is very personalized. Nice to have a meal and a drink without having to worry bout travelling to a movie after.

So I have had good experiences here before, but honestly this most recent experience was so bad. We got to the movies good and early, got our popcorn and started watching the trailers, after the trailers finished the movie didn't start. We waited about 5 minutes then someone went and asked if the movie was going to start. After about 20 minutes they finally figured out what was happening and it started, and I thought you know what maybe we had eaten like half the popcorn but all good now we won't be muchin' and crunchin' during the movie. We get about half way through and the movie starts glitching, and it was a horror movie so like literally this nun is trying to jump out of a mirror and scare us but its really hard to feel scared when the movie pauses and the main characters face is just in a ridiculous scream. Now not only was the movie constantly pausing but someone lady in the back had her phone go off not once but twice, it's hard to keep yourself in suspense when Steve Jobs theme is playing loudly in the background. Anyway we left and they did refund us but now if I want to finish the movie I have to watch it from the beginning again which everyone knows is the worst part.

We went to the NFL games. Back to back games for $10 total. And we got a $5 food voucher as long as it was something from the kitchen AND they gave us each a football t-shirt! The server was great, the atmosphere was fun. I will be going again.

I liked the Odeon here, especially the VIP experience. The theatre was big and the seats were nice and comfy, although they didn't seem to be able to recline fully. They also had a little desk to put your food on, which is handy but does get in the way. If you're just going to go and have popcorn and a drink then the "VIP" experience probably isn't worth it but if you're going for an NFL game or you have a big group then it'll be more of an outing.

I found the seats are very uncomfortable. I like that there are no children, you can select your seats ahead of time and you can have an alcoholic drink if you choose. But the seats being awful is a huge drawback

When you want to watch a movie in comfort this is the place to go. Calm atmosphere. The customers tend to be mostly in their 30s and 40s from my experience. Great chairs with lots off space.

Food is what you would expect. Drinks are above expectations. Service is friendly, inviting, but disorganized. Prices were higher than the end result of the services provided. Theater is a theater. Can't really go wrong there. One HUGE plus is that no children are allowed in the VIP theaters. This makes the movie portion of the trip so much more pleasant. I would recommend this theater only to people with higher incomes as the whole package is more expensive than it should be.

My wife and I went to the VIP theaters which was really nice. All VIP theater guests have a completely separate lounge section to themselves; it was really nice. The theater itself was nice and the wait staff were really quick and attentive. The entrance to the theater itself is looking a little run down and could use some work, but overall I would highly recommend the VIP theaters.

My favourite theatre in the city next to Imax. This theatre features a bar lounge in the 18+ section and tends to be playing the biggest blockbuster hits. It's nice to go to the movies and have service to your seat with food and alcoholic beverages. I like being able to walk in 5 minutes before the previews start and have a waiter take my order for food and drinks and deliver it right to my seat. There are little tables for you to comfortably eat your food without feeling all crammed up. Seating is excellent and comfortable. This theatre makes for a great date night.

I would recommend that everyone check out the VIP experience at least once in their lifetime. It's pretty cool to be able to eat some decent food (instead of just uninspiring popcorn) and drink an alcoholic beverage while watching a film on a big screen! It's expensive, but just save up some extra money and give it a shot. If for no other reason than to try something new and so that you can say you did it!

I decided to see Bohemian Rhapsody at the VIP. It was fine,. No complaints. It's the $17 price tag that I question. Don't get me wrong I will gladly pay for the experience that's worth paying $17 for. There are other theatres that now offer auto recling seats and all the leg room you could ever want for nearly half the price. No, you don't get seat service or alcohol at said theatre but I could care less about having a beer during a film. Judging by the small crowd for a movie that's still pretty busy in most other venues, I'm not sure it's all that important to a lot of folks. I think for that price tag I need more than a server and a small table to convince me to pay more than most. Bigger screen would be nice too. ????

Could make the popcorn more reasonable priced. My loyalty program from other theatres means I often go to movies several times per month. Loyalty cup with them means less plastic too. I buy it once, bring it back next time and get a refill for $1.50. get a new one every year.

Would be nice if the theatre actually had service for the last show or actually kept anything open while watching the movie. Vip after 10 is a joke. Vip is not walking across the building to buy a bottled drink. Even while starting to shut down I was refused service while all tills were up and all lights were on for each store.so other than a plush seat expect longer walks if u need anything.

Checked out the VIP theater and the staff were courteous and efficient. We had the cauliflower bites, spicy boneless chicken wings and a power bowl salad and all the food was tasty, flavorfull and delicious.

Let me start with what I like. I like that it is 18+ so most people are there to actually see the movie and not just talk and be on their phones. The chairs are really comfortable. The armrest in the middle goes up so if you want to cuddle there is that option. The food and drinks are mediocre at best. For the amount that you pay I expect a little more. I mean is it really that hard to mess up a vodka and lime juice? No but somehow they managed to do it. I will go back but I will have dinner before I go and just have the typical movie snacks.

Movie theatre was great, but there was a young girl at the food stand, Jenna, who was the absolute rudest and most in considerate to deal with. Her customer services skills, or lack there of, was atrocious. Our pretzel bites were still frozen, we told her and she rolled her eyes, grabbed it from us, said nothing and threw them back in the deep frier, gave them back and said nothing. Not an apology, not even a WORD was said. We were polite, said thank you and she didn’t say a word. Completely childlish behaviour on her part as we said nothing rude, aside from the food was still frozen. Took it back to the theatre but it was so gross, (hard, burnt, off taste, no salt and pretty sure the cheese sauce they gave was 90% plastic) we just threw it out. Cinema City definitely needs to better train their young staff in the customer service department.

I've been spoiled by Grant Park's newly renovated theatres with their recliner seats so going to Cineplex feels like a downgrade but McGillivray is not too bad (cleaner and seats in better condition than either Polo Park or St Vital). Popcorn was over-salted however and they were skimpy on the butter.

Once or twice a year, I go to a movie in the theater, and each time I'm reminded why I like to watch movies at home. The seats are more comfortable than they used to be, sure, but even in VIP, I can't put my feet up. I don't need to mention the cost of the food. And who still thinks it's okay to talk through the entire movie in a theater?? (The couple sitting next to us, apparently!) I guess the screen is huge, but at no point during Avengers: Endgame did I feel SO GLAD I had paid for the theater experience. I'd actually be happier, during its time of a theater run, to pay the price of the ticket to be able to watch a new movie at home.

I love VIP. Love love love it. No kids, you can have a drink. Get some food in the lounge or served at your comfy seat. I only gave a 4 of 5 because this Monday evening they only opened 30 min before the movie and for me that was not enough to eat without being rushed. I ate somewhere else. I still love VIP. I will always go there rather than fight for a seat or stand in line. Love it.

The menu isn't great and the food is over salted to encourage you to the buy overpriced drinks. The lounge is a great place to meet up with friends before a big movie release though. The seats are nice and roomy and the ordering service at your theatre seat is a nice novelty. They don't serve you after the trailers though. Obvious reasons.

We went to the theatre yesterday for an afternoon movie. The movie was cancelled due to technical problems. The theatre manager was very accommodating offering us VIP passes to another movie at any time. GREAT job and it was very nice that someone cared about our experience, Thank you.

Decent theatre, a bit overhyped, I do attend movies here if they're not playing anywhere else (special events) but I don't find the non VIP section to be as comfortable as other Winnipeg options, there are less self service machines available or they're just badly placed, and there's only one set of bathrooms and they're behind concession, no easy trip if you have to rush out of a movie to pee. St Vital has nice close bathrooms if that's a concern and Grant has the best non VIP seats in my opinion. But McGillivray does have the VIP, the only VIP theatre in town where you can get booze if you want so that's fun. They do have special event movies too, I watched the Lord of the Rings in 2020 here, those are worth watching for if you like throwback movies in big theatres. It is all accessible by wheelchair but getting into the bathrooms might be a bit annoying if you have mobility issues since it's tucked behind concession, but no problem getting into the theatre and there's reserved seats for wheelchair space in all the rooms, I assume.

UPDATE: May 4th 2017 ========================================================== I have to change what I think of this place now. Since I was last here its made some changes and its not for the better either. Our favorite thing when we went here was after dinner int he lounge we would go to our seats and order a salted caramel milk shake and vanilla milk shake. Now they no longer serve them. The dinner menu has also changed. The pulled pork meal has some extra stuff in it and you don't get to enjoy the pulled pork. The new salad they have didn't have any dressing and it was bland. We won't be going out of our way anymore to go here. Its lost its flare. ========================================================== I have been here twice and I love the place!! This is definitely a place to go for an occasion, like a date night or for a special movie you and your sweetheart want to see. Pros: There is a lounge to sit and eat at before going in to sit down and watch the movie. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Staff are friendly and polite. Good selection of items on the menu. You can drink alcohol. Beer or liquor. You can order and eat in the theater. The milkshakes are the best I ever had anywhere! Cons: Does not offer Time Play like SilverCity does. Although you can use your scene points to purchase tickets. Prices are kinda high for the food. Food portions aren't huge like the Keg or Applebees. When the previews start the lights are kept on and orders are still being taken for food. Sometimes food is still being brought to people when the lights are out and the movie has started. I would go back here again but it will not be my regular place to sit and watch a movie, just because of the Cons I have listed.

I think it's a great place to watch new releases if you are not a fan of getting to the theatre super early to save good seats with your friends. Its relatively lowkey compared to the theatres at the malls.

Had a burger in VIP and it was basically the freezer patties you get at Costco. you Can’t charge restaurant quality prices for freezer aisle food. Go for the movie and comfy seats but skip the food.

I understand when companies put tech in place like self check outs. Like at this theatre, you buy your ticket from a computer and that is fine with me. No issue at all. My problem is when I try and buy popcorn and they only have one person at the tills. There was a line up of at least 30 people trying to buy treats and it was going agonizingly slow. I know companies are trying to maximize profits but when it starts affecting the customer experience, maybe you should hire one more person to take popcorn orders. Also, don't forget to hold onto your ticket. If you need to use the bathroom, you need to exit the theater area and go to the front of the building.

The only VIP theatre in the city. If you're not familiar, it's adults only, licensed, assigned seating, with lounge food ordered from your seat. Seats are very comfortable. There's a lounge outside the theatres. Highly recommended!

This theater is a game changer. VIP offers big comfy seats with side tables, food and drink orders to your chair before the show. Great customer service as well which is something I've never been able to say about Cineplex elsewhere in the city.

We had never been here before so coming in blind was confusing. There was a small sign mentioning food in the vip lounge in the hall before concession but there was no indication of where that was and only one person working concession with a big line up. We assumed it was the hot food concession that was closed and served only hot junk food. We hoped to have lunch here but neither of us wanted hot dogs or poutine. (I had a asked someone who worked here how it worked before I came and their answer did not help at all and I had no idea VIP was a different area completly.) When we had our popcorn (which was mostly half popped kernels that made eating a very careful venture, as not to crack a tooth) and drinks the ticket taker told us to "go through the glass doors to the left." s She did not say HER left, so we went the full length of the left hallway looking for a theatre with glass doors. We turned around and saw the glass doors to the RIGHT of the stairs. Already annoyed from waiting in the long concession stand line up, having only purchased junk food for lunch, and been sent the wrong way, we got to the vip theatre (seeing there was a whole other concession/lounge) and sat down to find 3D glasses on our side tables. So I thought we were in the wrong theatre. Staff insisted it was 3D and we showed them we had bought tickets to non 3D (I can not watch 3d) and had been quite careful about it when we ordered tickets. They checked their schedule and realized it was not a 3D screening. Finding out there is a whole other food menue kinda pissed us off that we spent so much on junk food when we could have had a nice meal. I got a beer (bartender was very nice) and went to the washroom. The door to the stall stopped opening when I was halfway through the door and the door handle slammed into my hip and I have a really bad painful bruise about 3 inches round now. Seats are a bit narrow (but comfortable when arm rest up) when the arm rest is down. You can hear people in the lounge during quiet parts of the movie and at the end of the credits in the bonus scene the clean up crew talked through it loudly. The theatre was so cold that my partner who runs very hot had to put his lightweight jacket on. (He didn't wear a winter jacket at all this year and we have a dog we walk 5 times a day) I would go back now that we know the proper way to use the vip but they need to better train their staff or hire better people and tighten up their crew to work more efficiently. I would have given 2 stars out of frustration and pin (that bruise made me loose sleep) but we want to try again and see if we have a better experience.

Seats are leather and semi reclining even in the non vip section. Ticket sales are all automated so that they’ve almost removed the need for human interaction. Prices are high as expected for food. Tickets are reasonable especially on half price Tuesdays. VIP section is worth trying at least once - it’s sectioned off with special drink options and better seats. Facilities are well kept.

We recieved free tickets though air miles just after christmas, we used them here. The seats were cramped i found for heavy set people. We used to come here and go to the vip. Loved the vip until they opened it to everyone. We now go to landmark on grant because ofnthe prices and the seats are like lazy boy recliners and you dont have to pay vip to get them.

This Odeon location on McGillivray is a VIP Cineplex. Not only does it offer the usual OutTakes food choices, but it also has the VIP lounge where 18+ patrons can be aerved cocktails and alcoholic beverages (which can be taken to the screenings. The food menu is extensive and on this occasion we had the falafel platter and the halibut dinner. Both were tasty and hot and we enjoyed them. Better yet, the staff was very friendly, accommodating and responsive to our needs. The theatre itself is well maintained and clean (incl the washrooms). A great location with ample parking.

Seats are incredibly uncomfortable. We only came here because we had free tickets to the series finale of Game of Thrones. The event itself was excellent but was sponsored by either Bell or Shaw (I don't remember) so other than the free snacks we got Cineplex did virtually nothing for us. Immediately after, we went to see a different movie at Landmark and it was a way better experience.

It's okay. For the price, sometimes it's not worth it. You could easily spend clost to $50 for a date night for just a couple tickets and popcorn. The reserve seating is nice. They now have live music Fridays and Saturdays in the bar area, thankfully the noise doesn't bleed into the theater.

The Grant Park theatre still is better with the extraordinary seating, and lots of room. I hope VIP can do such a thing, be less expensive, and be still a very good theatre.

Went to a special concert movie. And while the theatre and amenities were pleasant enough, it was a special event music concert we were attending and the rumbling emanating from the action adventure movies bleeding through the walls from the adjacent theatre(s) was disconcerting to say the least, especially through some of the most sensitive parts of the performance. So I will think twice before booking a seat for a similar event. I'm sure for most normal sorts of movies, it would be a lesser issue, but nonetheless, three stars only this visit.

The VIP theatres are wonderful for planning an evening at the movies. The food is pretty reasonably priced, and very good and the theatre seats are big and comfortable. The sweet potato fry poutine is huge for what it costs and it's very good.

Almost always a great experience here. Having a drink before a movie and being able to order concessions to be waiting for you at your seat is great. Pre-selecting seats with the app ahead of time is also a big plus.

Went and saw endgame this past week and we all wanted to treat ourselves. Ultimately we found the food bland both mine and my wife's French fries were cold and the taco salad our friend had was fairly liquid(she described it as soup) I found the seats narrow and at the end of a 3 hour movie it was sweaty because it didn't breath. Unless you really really want a alcoholic drink while you watch a movie I would skip this theater.

Love the concept of the 18+ VIP. I wish there was more room between guests in the theatres though. Still feels a bit crammed and not much space between the person beside you, which can be awkward if you're eating food other than popcorn.

This is an ok theatre, but considering the price/ticket compared to Grant Park, this is not the best value in town. Also, we attended a movie at 1pm on a Sunday and the carpets appeared heavily soiled for the time of day, as if the place had not been properly cleaned from the night before or the same morning. The seats are ok, but Grant Park's seats are way more comfy - better spacing, and no obstructed views. The aisles are tight to get in/out of - like getting into an airplane aisle. Hate yo compare again, but people can be fully reclined at GP and you can still walk up and down the aisle without anyone having to move. unless this theatre is playing something I can't see somewhere else (like today) this would not be my first choice of venues.

Food and drinks are actually quite decent for a theatre. Usually very clean. My only complaint is they didn’t upgrade screens and sound from the cheap theatre that it used to be. If you’re charging $20 per ticket, you better be upgrading everything. It’s by far the worst VIP one I’ve been to in the country.

Wrong show times are posted on their website/google. Their manager was very unhelpful. The showtime listed was for standard price, however when we got here it was only VIP which is twice the price listed. We asked to just have the price matched as what it says online however it was “not their problem”. We left.

The VIP experience is a lot of fun for the average joe, seating is comfortable with a nice lounge as well. Service may not be very quick but they do treat you like a VIP. The food is nothing to special but they do serve alcoholic beverages, and being served from your seat at a movie theater is quite a unique experience.

Great theatre. Love the seats here! There's also food available and a Starbucks coffee kiosk. The prices are high for the food so definitely eat at one of the many nearby restaurants first. The V.I.P. theatre is really cool, too. Food and drink delivered to your seat. There's even a little side table to put your food and drink on! Licensed, too!

It's always good to show up later so you can miss the 15 minutes of ads at the biginning of the movie. Don't worry about getting good seats because they're always going to be annoying kids talking during the whole movie. Even if it's rated R. Step up and spend the extra $10.00 for the VIP experience. Planning ahead and picking your seats makes the entire movie experience better. We always like to arrive early and enjoy an adult beverage at the bar before heading to our seats. The in seat service is awesome. We will never see a movie outside of the VIP again as it is simply not enjoyable. I guess, for families the parents should get away and relax here children free whenever possible :)

Went to see the new movie Unhinged. This was the first day the theatre was open after covid. We found the drinks were tasteless and the volume for the movie was very low. Had trouble hearing about half of the movie. I'd go watch it again but not at this theatre. I feel I should have only paid half price since I only heard half the movie. The manager said someone went in to check at the beginning but didn't think there was a problem. I told her we won't drive all the way there again.

The outtakes "bistro" food in the non-VIP section is terrible - nothing other than a limited selection of cheap-tasting, greasy junk food. I would eat there more if there were some edible options.

VIP is amazing. I am such a fan. You feel like a movie star whether you sit at the lounge and get food or if you sit at your chair in the movie theater and have waiters/waitresses bring you food. Leather chairs too? Sign me up. The regular aspect of the theater isn't great. The seats are tiny and the screen is so small compared to how high the seats go in the back. I think they should almost squish the theater a bit more so the screen is closer and bigger. The enterance is small and lackluster. Employees are great though. Y'all are kind.

You did not validate proof of vaccination and the manager stated they only have to see if a person has a QR code. Just to be clear looking at someone’s phone to see if they have a QR code is not checking someone’s proof of vaccination. The gov of Manitoba has an app that you can scan a persons QR code to make sure it is valid.

Attend this theatre regularly. Arrived last night with a group of friends, a first time for many, 1.5 hours before show to enjoy a few drinks and appetizers. We were told VIP doesn't open till 45 minutes before first show, no exceptions. Went to Pancake House and ordered appetizers and drinks (lovely place). Came back 30 minutes before show and ordered drinks. After 25 minutes, still no drinks, movie was about to start. They gave us our bills and would deliver to our seats. They added an 18% gratuity on all our bills because there was more than 8 of us. We sat for 30 minutes, didn't eat or drink, just waited, and they demanded an 18% gratuity?? Very disappointed.

Quite literally the best movie experience I have had to date. I love the option to have the snacks, drinks, food come right to you, the servers in the theater are so curious and helpful without being pushy. Oh and the seats are amazing! No kids kicking your back for the majority of the movie you are attempting to watch. The preselection of seats is fantastic as well no rush seating! They could improve the taste profiles of the food that they offer and perhaps have a better selection of craft local beers and Canadian wines. I will definitely be going again!

The reserved seating is great, but I can reserve seats at non-VIP too. I do love that its 18+, but that doesn't always mean everyone acts like adults. The fact that I can order alcohol was awesome, and wait staff in the actual theatre was cool too. The lobby where you wait for your film was sleek and modern looking and washrooms were very private. Chairs inside were comfy and I love the pull out side tables for when youre watching a movie. Certainly does not feel all squished in. Cool place to go every now and then.

Great place to check out a movie, VIP lounge had live music going on which was a bonus. Screen size for the regular movies was smaller than other Cineplex theaters but sitting closer than usual easily fixed that without having to look up to watch.

My favorite place to watch newly released movies. I love this place because you can reserve your seating so you do not have to rush to the theatre to line up to ensure a good seat. The seats are very spacious and very comfy. The most importantly, you can have a beer with you throughout the movie, if you finish it, you can head back to the lounge and grab another one to take back to your seat. You can also order different foods to have with you as well.

As a movie buff and with a background in cinema, my husband and I like to stay and look at the credits. We went to see Ready Player One but as soon as the end credits started, the staff started cleaning and bumping into the back of our seats with no apologies. One staff even went on and told us that there were no extra scenes in the end. Terrible! We felt like they wanted us to leave right away. They even mostly converged their 'clean up' by the seats in front of us. We were so frustrated that we just left as soon as the credits ended. We never had such a bad experience before. Never again! As a 'VIP' cinema lounge the only perks is that there's a bar and you can order in before the movie. The food is overpriced and the seats are uncomfortable. It feels like it was made for tall people. I would rather watch movies at The Grant shopping mall- recliner seats and staff are nice and friendly!

It's okay...the seats do not properly recline, more like they bounce back & forth. You can see the theatres here have crammed and jammed as many seats as possible into the theatres, likely focused on maxing out revenue however, these aren't filling up like they did when the theatre first came along. There are much better choices out there, ones that recline and do NOT sandwich you between strangers with nowhere to properly rest your feet and legs. The licensed bar and restaurant is a nice touch if you're making it a date night but beware the prices. I asked for an extra shot in my Mojito because it was basically a cup of ice and tasteless, the extra shot costed $10, add that to the almost $15 drink and now you have las Vegas prices but in wintery winnipeg. Doesn't make much sense to me. The staff are just there to do a basic job and get paid, so not a lot of welcome energy there. Frankly, I don't see how this business model is going to last. I think it has been dying a slow death for a long time and you can't conveniently blame covid anymore. That time has passed. A major shift and update is in order or close it down.

This place has come a long way from the cinema city it used to be. The re-imagined theaters are far more comfortable, spacious and inviting. Went this aft for lst vip experience. Saw Mission Impossible in 3d in vip theater and had beer and popcorn delivered to our big cozy rocker seats. Before the show had a beer pizza and deep fried pickles. What a great lounge too. Highly recommend to all. Great experience and super movie to boot. Lots of parking and a good bus route too.

Even in the VIP section here the chairs feel worn and shoddy . I've never seen a film here without some sort of ridiculous disturbance from another patron. I've also never seen an usher or any employee tell someone who's being a dick to the other customers to be quite or to leave. Whenever I challenge the business regarding my bad experience that usually has led to another bad experience. And so, I don't see movies here anymore.

Great experience! I went with my 7 month old and 4 year old. If you have young kids and you're worried about crowds (especially with the pandemic), this place is perfect because there are children's movies playing and very few people in the theatre.

I'm actually disappointed in this place, its definitely going down hill, cleanliness isn't the greatest with garbage all over the floor in the theater, the entrance and washrooms definitely need a upgrade. Or maybe a renovation will help, was a great place to see a movie i would seek another place to watch a movie.

What they charge to get into the VIP section of this Cinema certainly won't break any banks!! Try a VIP seat in New York that's $75 just for the seat. Now that's a little on the expensive side, wouldn't you say so?

Tried it out the VIP section for the first time, it was nice to have dinner served to you while watching a movie. Theatre was clean and it was nice to have an area that was a bit relaxing for a theatre. However, Prices can add up quite fast and eating in the dark was a bit hard. Service was great that day. Our server was quite helpful and showed a lot of patience, being our first time there. Food was okay was not as warm as I would like it. But overall it was a nice experience. May do it again but with less food. Must try at least one time.

Was my first time in the theatre since the renovations a few years ago. The VIP lounge was really awesome. Found out that you could order food directly from your seat (or from within the lounge itself) & that the staff would bring it to you. The lounge atmosphere was really nice & gave you the private, VIP feel, which is obviously what you would expect. The theatre seats were large & comfortable with your own small table area & drink holder at each seat. Will definitely be going back soon!

Went here last weekend for Knives Out because Landmark was sold out. Big mistake. We enter the "VIP" area and go to order popcorn only to be told there is no one working the concession stand, on a Saturday afternoon. We're then told we can order popcorn from the bar and it will be brought out. We stood at the bar for 5 mins before being acknowledged even though there were only 2 other people at the bar. We order our drinks and they were unable to punch them in due to a slow system. So for the next 10 mins we sat in silence as they stared at the computer screen. I told them we needed our drinks as the show was starting and who I think was the manager based on how he was dressed, told me they can bring them to us in our seats. He ensured he was punching them in and they would be out right away. 15 mins later another waiter took my order, stating that the first guy didn't punch it in. Another 10 mins after that a different waiter tells me hes the only one that takes orders and I have to order through him. 10 mins later I finally got my beer, followed by another one 10 mins after by the guy who supposedly couldn't take orders. The servers were so behind that they were still bringing people's orders, and bring the wrong orders, well into the show. And to top it all off the toilet I used was covered in dry urine.

Went to VIP and ordered with the attendent waiting in the theater room. The movie then starts, I see people around me getting their orders but I assume they still making mine so I wait longer. The movie is going on and I realized they forgot my order despite paying for it. I didn't want to get up and miss the movie for the order and it was too late now anyways so I watch the whole movie then at the end I planned to just get a refund on my order since i never received it. I walk outside the VIP theater area and there is nobody there since it was a late night movie ending after midnight. All their cashiers are closed and tills have been closed so they couldn't even give me a refund. What a bad experience for VIP theater. Not worth it in my opinion. Landmarks in Grant park are better chairs that recline and it's cheaper and more comfortable.

We went to the VIP theatre for the first time as a treat to see the new Bond film. It was a good experience,. The service was excellent, my only complaint is that the menu was really overpriced for the amount of food you received. It was still a fun night though.

Wrong info was placed in their website/google, so they had only 20 dollar vip tickets each. Manager said he couldn’t do anything about it, so we left. All we were asking was to be able to watch the movie at the regular price which is was listed. Very disappointed.

What a mix-up! Really wanted to go to the one time showing of They Shall Not Grow Old. So I bought 6 tickets for the family online. We got to the theatre 1/2 hr early for good seats. Then the moment the movie was to start we were told by the usher we were sent to the wrong studio. About 35 people rushed to the other end of theatre where the movie had already started. The movie had been sold out and moved to a bigger studio based on early online sales. We had break up our family with some in front and individual on single seats a couple rows up once we asked people to move coats. Surely with online sales they could inform ticket scanner users so they can tell the customers. And once the mistake was known, delayed the movie for 5 minutes. Excellent documentary but was the small distortions were emphasized for those sitting close.

I have never seen a concession so slow. I waited 35min for popcorn and a drink. I watched as the manager tried to help move things along but he failed to see the problem. Thier drink machine was extremely slow. If he wanted to help start pouring the next customer's drink while the current customer is order. It was rediculous.

I kept getting bumped from the back and almost spilled my drink over myself... And noticed that it was the server that kept doing this. Seriously contemplated asking her if I had done something to upset her... She bumped my seat from the back at least five times. :(

Vip theatre is a great experience. Waiters serve you while you are watching the movie, and you can get more then just popcorn and a soda, they have appetizers, burgers, tacos and more. It's really a restaurant with a nice theatre attached to it. Seats are comfortable and it's not so loud your ears hurt like some other places! I swear sometimes I feel like I should have brought ear plugs. Been here a dozen times, any big release and am really pumped to see, gotta be vip.

The best movie theatre is the city. Their comfy seats are the best and most comfortable than any other cineplex location. Usually clean and food are drinks are a bit pricy but enough variety available. Easier to find parking even in the busy hours. Will highly recommend watching movies in their D-box and experience the cool effects.

At $20 a seat the so called VIP experience left me feeling ripped off. A big disappointment was learning that seat service stops once the movie starts, so there's really no difference from buying popcorn from the consession. We ordered some beers too, but they took 30 minutes into the movie to arrive, warm, and they told me it was because the bar was busy. That was a lie, I went out to the bar right after to get cold beer and there was only one customer, the problem was there was just no staff. The seats are a little more comfortable, but really all you're paying for here is the privilege to drink $11 warm beers in a movie theatre. Save your cash and enjoy the cheap thrill of smuggling beers into a normal theatre. It's not hard, theatre employees don't care about their job.

No social distancing going on in the VIP theatre. VIP washroom was very gross. I wouldn't recommend. If you can, go to Landmark theatre. Way better.

The VIP cinemas are awesome and one of the best places to see a movie on the big screen. Comfy seats and reserve seating are a big plus. The prices on the menu though are sky high and way out of line. To top it off the portion sizes are insulting even at half the price. The in seat service is a great idea and would make up for the prices some what but it's poorly executed. Staff can be hard to get attention from to place an order. Orders are regularly messed up. Some orders have been completely missed. Nothing worse then having to chase some one down to get the $10 coffee you ordered. Best solution is to grab a combo from regular theater area before you go in to the VIP area.

I'm trying to objectively remove how good the last Jedi was from my review. Might have been 1/5 if the movie itself was bad. Ordered food, I expect it to be overpriced, I even expect it not to look like the picture of the food. I was very disappointed that my wrap was mostly tortilla, I counted 12 chips in my 'loaded nachos'. Took too long to prepare, all round thoroughly managed to lower the bar, and theatres already have a low bar to begin with.

I went online today to check out where a movie was playing that my wife and I wanted to see and Cineplex McGillivray appeared on google. They are the only place in town playing 47 Meters Down and their projector is broken. They have zero customer service skills when they have an issue. Today is discount movie day and when I spoke with the manager just now and asked if I could get today's price for having been inconvenienced to have to come back tomorrow, his reply was "No sorry, we don't do that". I will remember that service the next time the family wants to see a movie and it is playing in multiple theaters, I can assure you, we will NOT be coming to this one.

If you want a great cinema experience get the VIP experience. You'll easily pay double but the food, service, and seats are worth it. Just take your seat, flag down a waiter, order and pay. You'll have you food and drink at your seat before the movies starts.

Went for watching the movie in VIP screen. Had a great experience. VIP section had a lounge where you can relax before your movie starts, and the staff was helpful and polite. Ambience was outstanding, and the screen had couple seating style with recliners. Surround sound system could have been a little more volume or bass to it for an immersive experience, but overall a great place to watch new movies.

Most of the theatre is not the grandest of Cineplex complexes, but serviceable enough. What they have, that sets it apart, is a VIP theatre which is nice. Alcohol, food can be bought in a nice bar with a "living room like" area and they'll even deliver snackies like popcorn and drinks right to your seat.

Very nice theater. I highly recommend going here if you want a meal with your movie and want to make a whole night out of it. The seats are very comfortable and spacious. It is more expensive but it is a much nicer experience having more room to yourself. When me and my girlfriend went we got tickets for the wrong time and did not realize until we were already seated. The staff however was very friendly and allowed us to choose seats that were still available even tho we made the mistake.

Second time I ordered food in VIP that went undelivered. This time no one was to be found in the restaurant to talk to. By the time I found someone, they advised the system was closed and they could not give me a refund. They suggested I could come back to the theatre during business to get one. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the arcade is just sad in this place???????? but apart from that great place to watch movies but since it's not as big as the other locations it does get packed and it's hard to find seating if you haven't reserved them first. The food is good here...again it's outtakes but it's still great. The VIP lounge is a nice aspect to this place where you can order and eat in the movie but sometimes the crumpling of the papers tends to snap me out of the movie???????? not that I mind having food in he theater but it's a downside of actually being able to eat in the theatee while watching the movie. Been here loads of times so besides it's downfalls it's a good and convenient place to watch movies.

Came to see the second Jumanji. Went for dinner first. Was a bit weird as all the advertising on the signs coming in adverted $5 Margaritas and tacos. We sat down and we were give menus stating the same Tuesday specials. Tried to order them, told they deal was over. (Stop handing out those menus and get the ads off the signage!) Ordered anyways and manager was nice to offer free popcorn for the hassle. Tacos were great though. Had a good evening.

Went tonight to see The Hitman's Bodyguard. We were going to see another film, but the staff member said we could change our tickets if we wanted to see a different movie from the tickets we bought. We did just that and had a great time. Action packed film with comedic overtones.

Seats are ok, screen is ok, popcorn is ok. Landmark Grant Park overall is much better. One up side is this theatre has many seats and usually isn't that busy. I went here cause Grant Park seats where full.

I do miss Cinema City. Where tickets were dirt cheap and the popcorn and drinks weren't 20 bucks after taxes. Good experience for the money though, and still a fun night out idea.

I went here to see a RiffTraxx version of Starship Troopers. The food and alcohol paired well with the comedy. The seats were very comfortable. The only issue i had was that the screen was much smaller then the other big theatres.

Very nice, clean, and spacious theatre. Not my go-to in Winnipeg (Grant Park's better and closer to me) but I catch a movie here every once in a while. Usually it's a fine theatre but last time (June 25, 2019) I did not have a great experience. The audio mix in theatre 2 was way off — the music/sfx were insanely loud but you had to strain to hear/discern the dialogue. It wasn't just a problem with the movie itself because the trailers all had the same issue. It's not really a thing you can complain about though, because what are you going to do? Leave the movie in the middle of it to try and find a manager and miss 15 minutes?

It's not worth it to see a non-vip show for me because the bathrooms are just too far away from the theatres that you miss so much if you need to go.
