REVIEWS OF Cineplex Cinemas Langley IN Langley

Barbara Russell

I got COVID because you sold a ticket right beside my seat at Langley Cineplex and I was seating glued with a stranger. I demand an explanation why THERE WAS NO PROVINCIAL GUIDELINES FOLLOWED.

ArJun Sandhu

Everything was good until the part where movie starts 12 min late, and we watched ads with great interest????

Pat Gunter

Dec2021 was far too cold while watching movie. You should be able to leave your gloves in the car and not need them(!) during the movie.

Melissa Turner

Place was filthy. Bathrooms reaked. Staff were all really friendly and outgoing, but the whole place was dirty.

Madison Peterson

Always a really fun experience; I just wish the seats were reclining like other theatres.

Noah O

Pretty good overall cinema experience. Staff was friendly, fairly clean overall.

kiyokiwa

Been going here since 2014. Experienced all the formats there were. Personal favorite is DBOX in UltraAVX or IMAX. Ever since the cinema re-opened, the whole place felt way cleaner than before. The IMAX Experience was awesome except for the fact that there were a few stains on the screen that were very small. One more flaw in IMAX was that I was excepting for Dune to be in the IMAX exclusive 1:43 format, but it wasn’t, even though the screen was tall enough to fit 1:43.The chairs aren't superior to Landmark's, but they are pretty comfortable. Staff are usually nice and seem to enjoy they're job. Concession stand is normally a little bit understaffed but everything else is fine. Overall, this theatre is one of the best in the lower mainland, with good formats for movie experiences, decent seating, good staff and perfect for birthdays, movie nights out and everything else.

Been here many times to watch movies, always a great time when the roof is a cool looking spaceship! Decent food and friendly staff!

Amy Moorcroft

Went to see Dune in IMAX. Sadly the screen has 3 scuff marks that kept taking me out of the story. Won’t be back unless this gets fixed. Also, the seats are very small, I’m a normal sized person but was cramped! For a 2.5 hour movie, that’s uncomfortable to say the least. Clean and good service.

Chandandeep Gill

Decent, but needs to upgrade seats and make more space like landmark theaters

angelwingsaglow cozart

Had a fun Halloween enjoying a movie thriller. It was a nice treat ???? and well enjoyed ????

Rehan Khokhar

Good theatre and good staff. However, there is a large mark or rip in the IMAX screen. It becomes noticeable occasionally and can be very distracting. It's been there for a long time too.

Cam Phat Tran

Their IMAX experience is very good, I’m satisfied with the place

Chad M

Went to see Eternals tonight but the theatre smelled like old hockey equipment. Not sure what was going on but it never used to smell like that.

Mayor

Checked for vaccine passport, friendly staff, many options for food and drink, many show times with options such as IMAX, reserved seating, closed captions, 3D and surround sound. Arcade and other options for entertainment while waiting, able to order tickets online and reasonable prices for tickets in general. Overall a great option for movie night.

Peter Butschek

Saw the last "Bond" & the whole night went very well. Movie was great, theater was clean, staff was polite & covid protocols are being followed. An excellent venue to see Fabuloys movies !

Sammy

Their seats are so uncomfortable. Wish they had better seating options like the other cinplexes

Jashandeep singh

Everything was good , only issue was their seats they are not at all comfortable!!

Neil

Nice and clean. Great sound and picture. $9 for medium popcorn? No wonder people joke about bringing their own treats !! Evolve or fall victim to nice big tvs at home.

Akhil Midha

Amazing place if you want to feel like watching movies in the 90s with cramped up leg room and older seats..

Emily Enriquez

Unfortunately had a bad experience of a few people being in our chosen seats. When I went to look for help, the employees I did find didn't know what to do. Then when I waited in line to look for further help, a second lineup started near me and the only employee there helped the people at the beginning of that line. Ignoring me who was standing there for a long time and missing the movie due to people taking our seats. We ended up taking someone else's seats and thankfully no one sat there. Also, the most recent time we were there, we asked a ticket employer a question and he just looked at us. Then continued talking to his other coworker. We were just like "okay" and awkwardly walked away, confused as to why he looked like he didn't care. Many times the staff don't seem to care and/or know anything about anything. Other than that, the theatre can also be pretty filthy. Bring a wipe to clean your seat down. A bunch of popcorn grease always comes off the chair yuck! The food is good but obviously overpriced. I wish Cineplex would invest in healthier options though. The Abbotsford Cineplex is much more cleaner and a little more friendlier there compared to Langley.

Your average multiplex with a spaceport theme. Lots of parking. I either take the freeway here or go along 88th for a quieter drive. Try asking for your butter layered.

Jacob Messer

I won't be returning until the huge scratch on the right side of the single IMAX screen is repaired. Was there when I saw 1917 early 2020, and it was still there when I saw Dune a month ago. Totally distracting during the film and I should've asked for a refund. The rest of the theater is fine. Will change my review when they fix IMAX.

Kenrick Block

IMAX screen has a big ol’ hole or dent or stain in the centre of it. Would not recommend. I wish there was an alternative chain to Cineplex but ever since their competitors died off they’ve gotten lazy and ignorant to the importance of experiencing cinema in a communal setting. Only independent theatres now seem to value what they’re actually doing for film and audiences alike. No knock on the people employees of Cineplex but the management and company is totally trash.

Arun & Jayati Singh

Went to watch Dune with great anticipation at the Imax theatre. The experience of the movie was almost ruined due to the terrible marks on the screen which distracted and irritated. One expects the theater to care about the viewing experience of the patrons. Poor upkeep of the place shows total disregard for the paying customers. Fortunately the movie was good otherwise would have walked out.

Wesley Chang

Came here for the first time for a matinee showtime to avoid the crowd during the pandemic. The experience is pretty much on par with other Cineplex that I've been to. Note that they are only opening the entrance on the south side so make sure you park accordingly too.

Rajvin Kaur

Modern giant multiplex cinema with huge parking lots. Clean cinema hall. Tasty popcorns.

R Morr

Excellent cinema with lots of shows playing at once. There used to be a restaurant upstairs that overlooked the main lobby but it's long since been closed. One day hopefully it can be reimagined and used again as it was a unique and fun part of the theater.

Sean Dozeman

Almost no COVID safety protocols in place aside from vaccination passport check at the door. When purchasing tickets online, the website states that the seats around you will be unavailable to others, which is not true. If you prefer to be safe, I recommend avoiding this place.

Anthony Rudolph

I mean.. for an big theatre with an IMAX. You can tell the place needs some updating. Trying to get to the seats, to dark, stairs are to narrow and not lit enough. The seating felt close and well the chairs were also outdated. The movie was good and loud. And also prices are typically high, but have decent choices.

Todd Byers

Many different formats to see new releases in. Will be returning for sure

Thi 70sWereTheBest

Ah the movies! We haven't seen a film in the cinema for the longest time ever. It's good to be back ????

Chris E

It's a good theater however I feel it could be a bit cleaner. The floor is like walking on a piece of fly paper.

Daljot Singh

The seats are fine at best (Audi 10). Good collection of arcade games.

NF Fan

just watched spider man no way home? the screen was black the whole time? I'm also blind and deaf so who cant taste the moon really? #blessed.

ChenXin Zhang

Nothing really bad happened and nothing really good happened. Basically just a normal movie theatre, though a bigger one I'd say, as some of the movies such as Tenki no Kou that were not played in the Surrey Cineplex were played here. By the way, the food is still overpriced, just like all other movie theatres.

Siddharth Aggarwal

Never go there for a late movie show! No drinking water available and also no vending machine works (which doesn't require human assistance) for people visiting. The Cineplex website has incorrect seat map. Otherwise a great place to hangout with friends. Gaming arena can be improvised with more option in arena!

G 47

Classic cineplex theatre. I do prefer the reclining seats at landmark though

Benard Soberg

Comfy seats, clean theatres, friendly staff.

ralph gallardo

Love it here. Lots of arcade/games to play while waiting for your movie or after watching. I noticed though that the quality of the projector for cinema 5 is kinda flickering. Im not sure if it has always been like that or it just needs maintenance. Understandable that the maintenance may be lagging behind because of the pandemic.

Andrew Boycott

Disappointing experience seeing the new Spiderman here. There are a couple of marks/imperfections on the IMAX screen, which for me wrecked the immersion. This used to be my go-to theatre, but after having been to landmark the seating in the …

Sergii Kozak

We were extremely disappointed after watching Dune in IMAX here. Some other reviewers already mentioned large marks (scratches or stains?) on the screen that were super distracting. But in addition to this the movie was so terribly dark that some scenes were totally unwatchable (when we re-watched at home the brightness was absolutely normal). IMAX shouldn't be this low quality!

Andrew Gooch

Friendly and polite staff. Saw a movie in the Imax which IMHO is the best experience. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is there was a flaw on the screen just right of the center of the screen. Once I noticed it my attention was drawn to it through out the movie.

Karthik K.B

Kind of one of the good cineplexes. The 3D is not that good but it's fine.

Rob Bottos

IMAX screen us excellent, but signage inside theatre could be better. Theatre lobby could have been cleaner/tidier.

Timothy G

I thought it was just me, but as other reviews have said there's a stain on the IMAX screen that's visually distracting. It also seems that the projector is slightly out of focus and the audio mix needed to be adjusted. I had no issues a few years ago watching Blade Runner 2049, but these issue were noticeable watching Dune on Oct. 31.

Michelle H

Covid protocols in place, about a quarter capacity at full, sold out show. Expensive popcorn, but everyone knows that anyways.

Christopher Dmitrieff

50% capacity due to Covid. Had to move seats because everyone was squished into the middle. Would have liked to see more constraints on seating location when booking.

Karandeep Singh Chawla

One of the nicest and cleanest cinema. It is really huge and have lot of Arcade too.. Good place to spend family time

Andy Knight

Out of all the Cineplex locations in the lower mainland, this one stands out. It's what you'd expect from a big chain theatre but they play alot of stuff that other local theatres don't.

Michael d

The seats while reclining were slightly to close to eachother so when people did recline it would end up hitting your feet. Some of the newer buildings have way smarter seat layouts. …

Nathalie Ajouz

Very nice place, it's hugee and lots of options for snacks

Jason Haug

Okay theatre, definitely looking dated inside. No longer offering popcorn flavour packets as of October 8, 2021, hopefully just temporarily but unlikely due to Covid as they are individual packets so no risk there and they have the self serve butter dispenser available as well as the arcade so supplying flavour packets shouldn't be an issue. No VIP section is a little disappointing and is probably related to this location being dated.

Robert H

IMAX screen is damaged. About midway up and slightly to the right. Holy crow that can be a distraction

Glenn Atchison

Nice to partake in a movie once again. Lots of spacing, theatre certainly doing their part in keeping it clean and safe. Bathroom smelt like very clean, not a bad oder but clean. Good to see ( smell ) that.

Hugh Kumar

IMAX viewers - AVOID! The screen has extremely distracting tear marks in the center-right which has been there for months, and if you look at other reviews, they are complaining about the exact same thing. Furthermore, the screen is blurry - either the projector is out of focus or their equipment is faulty. The audio was great. Will not be returning until they fix these display issues.

Masked Bandit

Minding my own business in the back of theatre jacking off. People were weird and kept staring at me. It made me feel very uncomfortable and couldn’t finish. A man threw hard candy at me, about 10 of ‘em, so I moaned out in pain and had to leave. Definitely will come again.

Cody Salter

Fan of the IMAX but it would be great if the screen could be fixed…..

Robin Olafson

Seats are comfortable but are too close together and they recline. If you're behind a recliner, they can push their seat back right between your legs. Langley doesn't carry flavored salts for popcorn anymore.

Lorna McInnes

We haven't been out to the Cineplex in Langley in a few years. It is a wonderful atmosphere. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it.

Chris Schneider

A little tired Couldn't sell us a large popcorn but still sold us a medium. And we all know that is a bad deal. …

Anil Singh

I had a terrible experience with them as one of their salesman named "Tom/Tim" played smart and did not let me use my scene card by saying that your card is expired while buying food from them which made me pay CAD 29.09 for meal even after having more than 4000 points in my scene card. I have called scene card people and cineplex as well, after having a wait time for around 50 minutes on both ends i found that there is nothing wrong with my card. THIS IS A SIMPLE SCAM WHERE EMPLOYEES ARE ASKING YOU TO PAY FROM CREDIT/DEBIT CARD INSTEAD OF YOUR SCENE CARD POINTS. Be ware of such encounters. I will never visit Cineplex Langley.

Rayquon Keyman

Guildford is better. drive the extra 15 mins

Natalie K

It was nice and employees were amazing and kind!!

Dianna SAMI

It was amazing place so big and well staffed. We had a great time. I accidentally spilled some popcorn so when the movie was over I told the young man with the cleaning cart outside the theater. He thanked me I thought he might be a little upset but was thankful. Very nice young man.

Dec 23 6:05 pm we brought our 2 grandson's 8yr and 4yrs (autistic) to see Sing 2. We were hesitant about going due to our autistic grandsons sensory issues but the ticket clerk told us if we had to leave we could get a refund but it had to be within 40 mins of the show time. Well we didn't make it to far into the movie and had to leave. I waited 5 mins or so in the line to get my refund and the manager (Evan) told me I was 10min to late to qualify for the refund. The movie didn't start right away there was at least 20 mins of commercials. I was so disappointed in his customer service he didn't care about the struggle and stress we were experiencing with our grandchild. He reached in a basket full of small pieces of paper with the customer service # and handed it to me and said maybe they can help you but it's Christmas and you probably won't hear from them for a while. What exactly do managers do at cineplex if they aren't empowered to give a refund or handle customer service issues? Evan had absolutely no compassion for our situation what so ever. Cineplex, I would like a refund or at least a credit. So we can attempt to see another movie with my grandsons in the near future. Merry Christmas

Kristina Christensen

Would give a zero if possible…..for what you pay it’s time to upgrade the seating. Find another cinema for a comfortable experience

Jack Games

Its a movie theater, ive been here a lot, and its nice.

I visited Cineplex in Langley about 3 weeks ago during the early afternoon and while it has been a couple of years since I was in the cinema because of COVID-19, my experience felt quite different. I enjoyed the reclining seats, the munchies available, and the big screen. Tickets required assigned seating. Due to being an afternoon showing, the cinema was not packed, but most assigned seats were located at middle back. I have heard that is where the best sound and experience is. However, being seated right next to someone else and being shoulder to shoulder with a stranger just felt a bit cramped. Perhaps, it was the slight anxiety surrounding the last year and half. However, I could not help but wonder why the cinema did not space folks with some sort of separation or skipping a seat in between. It could have easily been done and I do not think anyone would have complained. In addition, since we all have been conditioned to watch movies from our favorite streaming platform at home and able to pause at any time, I could not help but think that at least one short intermission (5 minutes or so) would help replicate the experience and control that everyone has at home. Even to use the washroom facilities when nature calls. I might just wait for a streaming platform to provide movies in their queue, unless I really cannot wait. However, with Disney and HBO having direct releases and Netflix being a bargain still, I am not sure that the cinema experience will have the same customer base that it once did. Although, the way things seem to be going with streaming platforms striving to have their own content, we as consumers may need to purchase all of those streaming platforms if we do not want to limit our movie options in the near future. Who knows what the future may bring.

vaccine check at the door, makes me feel safe right out the door, went to see Spiderman no way home, the consessions were busy but the line moved quickly.
