This is one of the last three 70mm IMAX locations in “la belle province” (the other two are Scotiabank Cinema in Montreal and IMAX des Galeries de la Capitale in Quebec city but who knows when they will dismantle them). Most of the time, you can only watch scientific documentaries here (personally the price tends to be a little on the higher end - $14 for a 50-minute stuff, hmmm…). But when sometimes they play a “commercial” feature, that’s a great deal you shouldn’t miss. Just like right now, they are showing Interstellar with its best 70mm IMAX capacity and it’s a 150-minute movie.

I expected explanations before the presentation of the film to explain the improvements brought by this type of laser projector. But nothing. We give explanations about the sound but not for the image… and I did not notice any difference compare to the other Imax 3D films seen with the old projector. In addition, we saw a fly, (which was walking on the projector lens), on the screen during almost the entire film! I do not criticize the Imax 3D process that I have always loved, and which in my opinion is the true 3D cinematic experience. But if we advertise a revolutionary new process and I don't see a striking difference, it's disappointing. (Original) J'ai été très déçu de ma dernière visite chez Imax Telus et du supposé Imax laser. Je m'attendais à des explications avant la présentation du film pour expliquer les améliorations qu'apporte ce type de projecteur au laser. Mais rien. On donne des explications au sujet du son mais pas pour l'image … et je n'ai pas noté de différence comparer aux autres film Imax 3D vus avec l'ancien projecteur. En plus, on voyait une mouche, (qui se promenait sur la lentille du projecteur), sur l'écran pendant presque tout le film! Je ne critique pas le procédé Imax 3D que j'ai toujours aimé, et qui selon moi est la vrai expérience cinématographique 3D. Mais si on fait une pub sur un nouveau procédé révolutionnaire et que je n'y voit pas de différence frappante, c'est décevant.

I really like this Centre des sciences, the staff is really kind, the popcorn and all the snacks are nice and not so expensive but there's one thing that bother me; the movie that I went to watch the second time was super chiens, which I didn't know it was narrated by Chris Evans, so I was looking forward to listen to his voice but you only have french dubbed. I mean you can still put it in it's original language and still add french subtitles.

The IMAX 3D here is much better than what most movie theatres have, and the documentaries are really enjoyable. I only wish they were longer. Oh, and you might want to bring a cloth to clean the 3D glasses as they tend to be dirty.

I enjoy 'real' IMAX films and I'm happy that this place still uses the film projection (as opposed to digital projection). I was surprised however, to see that there was a vertical line extending the entire height of the screen in two really obvious areas. As a result, the film, particularly during brighter shots, had a big dirty looking line caused by the screen. It was as if half the screen had been replaced and the other half was dirty.
