This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
It was really great! Everyone greets you with a smile and very clean too. However, the arcade is in a small area on the side in such a big space, I think it should be more games like Scarborough town center that is so open.
Friendly staff, always clean. Only complaint is the prices at the concession are high and the new recliners are a nice touch but not all that comfortable on the back. Landmarks are more comfortable.
Great theatre with premium recliners on most of the theatres.
Seats are amazing. But the sound is so loud. Not sure why it has to sound like a front row concert. I always leave with a headache.
Great theater. Food is ok but overpriced as expected. I am only giving four stars because the last time I went they lost my prepaid tickets and we had to get a manager involved because the employee wanted me to pay for another two 3d tickets but I refused
Clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Prices are crazy. $10 for 30 cents worth of popcorn.
Brought my kids to see despicable me 3 in AVX reservered the seats and tickets through the mobile app and when we got there people were sitting in our seats refusing to move said these were their seats I showed them the tickets proving the seats were mine they still refused, I went and talked to an employee who said someone would come deal with it. No one ever did I ended up just taking my kids and leaving your guys customer service is disgusting and not enforcing the seating rule is ridiculous to ask people to pay more. I had some very upset kids who wanted to see that movie.
Xbox One Gaming Party - Fantastic and worth every penny. An early start to the day playing from 9am to 11am - great for birthday party - had four players in total - tip talk to party guests and birthday boy/girl before hand to agree on which games - Our Cineplex host Jason was great! All in all one of a kind activity and fun! p.s. any more than four players may get complicated for whose turn is it....
Loved the recliner chairs, the space for leg room, but it would be nice to have wifi and play some Time Play.
Since a few months ago, there are no more ticket salespersons, it's all machines. Staff have moved to concessions. Inside it's nice and fairly clean. Seats are roomy and recline a bit.
Don't go (my opinion) I was kicked out for not having face and name I'd when it says "name and birth" no where does it say face id
Had some teenagers breaking distancing protocols. (Sitting in seats meant to be left empty) One employee came in and looked like he was going to ask them to go back to their purchased seats but did not. However they were immediate asked to move once we brought it up to another employee.
The best place to watch a movie.
Very clean theaters, good size usually not overcrowded other than big opening weekends. The service is usually fast and accurate. But the concession stand is very pricey.
A 4 because cost to much to just get a popcorn.
Great seats, fast food service, self serve tickets only though
I love this theater, it's my current go to. Place is huge but still well maintained and well lighted. Staff is nice enough and the recliners just tops everything off!
No one blocks your view of the movie. Modern screens and sound system. Prices of concessions are still crazy but now you get a child vouchor.
Great theatre love the food and popcorn here. Staff are always quite nice. I come here at least twice a month.
Great location. Easy parking comfortable clean theatres. Love the reclining seats and IMAX screen
An easily accessible facility with ample free parking. The building is clean and the infrastructure is modern. Large, plush, comfortable, leather reclining seats and excellent sound quality.. Family friendly environment with decent customer service.
No VIP but the AVX, D-Box options are great. The 3-star review is less about the service and more about this location just not having the VIP option/
Theatres have been redone with very comfy power recliner lazy Boy type chairs. You also now pick your seats at the concession stand from a screen where it prints your ticket and seat number.
Very clean and very comfortable
There is just not enough parking for a theater this size. It's even worse in the winter, when the piles of snow take up sections of the already small parking lot. It is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, but I'm usually just frustrated by the time I park. I will not even go near the place on a weekend.
I almost dont want to give it a good review cause I dont want people to know about this theatre lol it's a good size never overly busy compared to other theatres and always a great experience offering everything any other theatre would this location is always my go to when I want to catch the latest box office hit on the big screen
Came here and the cashier was very slow. She did not ask for my scene card, so I reminded her that I had it and that I wanted to redeem my points (3000), and said it was too late to earn or redeem points. She also did not let is pick out seats on the screen, and I came with 3 children so we prefer end seats to make it easier to go to the bathroom, but ended up with seats in the middle of the theater.
Got a poutine because I missed breakfast before my 11:30 show, and it was great! I love the new seats and the workers are very good about checking for proof of vaccine. I wish the frozen yogurt was open, but I didn't miss out too much ;)
Love their food court, the seat were comfy, just feel like you were home & watching the movie
Nice place to watch movies
The comfy reclining chairs are the best thing ever
It's a good theatre but the food is so crazy expensive!!! literally almost $50 JUST ON SNACKS! If you're going, I reccomend eating before you go because everything is just crazily priced for no good reason. stupid man, thats why we all love netflix! ITS CHEAP AND I CAN EAT MY OWN SNACKS!!! I also dont have to deal with annoying people during the movie.... but I gues it's nice to go out sometimes....Just wish it wasn't so friggin pricey!
Comfortable seats, no free popcorn or pop refills anymore. It's decent, not as good as Landmark Cinemas. Though their popcorn isn't as good as Landmark in my opinion, if they were to bring about a one refill rule that would certainly improve the experience greatly.
Watched antman and wasp. First time with dbkx seating. I will be doing dbox from now on. Theatre very clean. Seating is nice with decent spacing between seats.
Honestly the best Cineplex to go to as they have reclining seats for an amazing price. Every time I go I am greeted by nice staff and the place is clean. I’m always going to come back!!
Honestly just ridiculous. Have to get seats online can't just come in and enjoy grabbing a seat only get left overs. Lady gave me front row seats for my kids without even letting me know I'm front row. Not exactly how I planned my evening with the family. From now on going to landmark bigger theater and more seats to choose from!!!
It's a great location because I pretty much live next door. The staff are nice and I think the service is really great. I like that they have reserved seating as well. The size of the theatre rooms are just the right size in my opinion. But I prefer a "cozier" seating area.
This movie place is very poorly run!!!!!!!!! The taos in the bathroom are missing tops. There is no organization to know what movies are playing. The staff is very poorly trained. This facilities is the worst I have ever experienced. The bathrooms are very poorly located and not marked well. There is one young man to tear the ticket stubs. The screens to show movies speed fast so nothing that is playing can be read. Positively not disabled friendly!!!!!! The whole facility needs a total haul over!!!!!!!!
I went on cheap Tuesday. Saw Adrift really good, based on a true story. Was surprised to see the addition of lazy boy seating throughout the theatre. Another great reason to go to the show. So comfortable & I have a bad back! Grandview & Taunton
Nice fun filled place with all the activities for the family
Super nice and clean theater. Arcade/entertainment corner is not very big but not a deal breaker for me. Theatre 5 has amazing reclining seats for 3D Movies
Try to go on a Tuesday and collect your scene points: Comfortable recliner seating with a push of a button. Buttery popcorn, hot dogs, poutine, soft drinks, and candy available for purchase, feels pricy though so it's only worth it if you're spending time with friends and family and you want to enjoy the movie without the mess and hassle of watching movies at home or you just want a me day.
Good theatre. Comfortable chairs and friendly staff... The only problem was the junkie in front of the doors asking for cigarettes “ I’ll give you a dollar for a cigarette “. Very creepy..
staff friendly. lots of food choices. Does not allow free refills of large pop or large popcorn. they stopped allowing it. you spend a lot on pop and popcorn. refll should still be allowed
have been here three times since it’s reopened to see shang chi, venom and eternals and all three times people have sat directly beside me and once people were in my pre-booked seat that i had to ask to move. there are NO covid restriction checks in the theatres.
Parking is always plentiful and its clean for a movie theater. The employees working there are courteous. My problem is when you are trying to "choice your seat" from the screens, you cannot choice a seat at the end if someone else left one seat beside it...so if you choice the two end seats and someone chooses the 4th seats the screen will not allow you to leave one seat empty. What the hell is that? I'm paying for my seat like everyone else, why the heck can't I choose what i want? This is VERY disappointing!!
Ten theatres, plays only big releases. The workflow of the concession stand makes no sense, so if you want snacks arrive early.
Nice relaxing evening great entertainment the new chairs are awesome little pricey on the popcorn and pop but you expect that at a movie house
One of the best Cineplex theatre. I went there for Cold Pursuit movie. All the seats were full recliner :)
First movie in theatres in forever - great job by the staff to keep things simple. Rumble seats were good, probably not my jam for every movie but I had to know and for action movies, it does add to the experience! Something to try at least once!
I think it's not really good as other movie theaters because it does not have the game thing before the movie starts but it's is still good
They left the side lights on during the first 10 minutes of a 3D movie. No apology. But recliner chairs improve the experience.
First time back to theatre in 2 years. Forgot it was the concession prices that kept me away, not covid.
Great cinematic experience. If you haven't tried DBOX yet, make the trek to north Oshawa and see your next action/adventure movie in 4 dimensions of fun!
Saw black panther, popcorn was good and buttered. The seats are awesome in the 3D part ! Washrooms had a funky smell like sewage but overall a great theatre
Went to see War for the Planet of the Apes. I find the location great with plenty of parking. The seats are great and I am happy with the overall condition and cleanliness. Staff have been always good.
Washrooms great theaters was great location kinda wish it was back in the Oshaw Center but still alot of clean fun place to take even your grandma and kids to here excellent parking had no problems very great staff to thank you
Wonderful reclining seats. Only thing I didn't like was self service check-in. Loss of jobs, could be confusing for some people.
Self serve location. Recliner leather chairs are sweet. Big location! Also they serve beer and wine. But 2 beers costs $21, so be prepared! Lol
Comfortable recliners and good sized theaters, everything you want from a Cineplex. Just don't spend all your money on a small popcorn and drink.
I don't like the fact that there's no one at the front to order tickets from... Just machines. The reclining chairs are nice though.
Good place but if your 5ft like me the railing might block part of the screen in the movie theater.
Really impressive loaction. What you'd expect from a large Cineplex franchise, lots of staff, a large number of theatres and my favorite, powered reclining chairs. Pretty easy to get to as well.
It's a great theatre not only did I do the Reno's but I enjoy the seats the employee's are great and over all just a close nice place to watch movies
My mom and I went to see the Lion King at the stars and strollers session. First of all, the whole point of the stars and strollers is that the volume is reduced to make it more appropriate for babies. Well, the entire set of ads and trailers shown prior to the movie starting were at regular volume. I literally had to cover my baby's ears with my hands. Then the movie started, and the volume was so low that we couldn't hear almost anything (my three year old got bored because she said she couldn't hear what they were saying). The rest of the people (in the audience) were so rude too...One lady came early and set her car seat blocking the entire row and when we needed to get through, she told us to go around the other end. Seriously?! I was carrying my newborn and had my toddler with me...and I'm supposed to walk back down and up again with both of them? Then her baby was crying the entire movie and she didn't do anything about it! Like, I understand that it is a session that is baby and kid friendly, but that's no excuse to be rude and not do anything at all if your kid/baby starts to cry. Then another lady came with 3 kids that were just running around the entire movie, chasing each other from one end of the theater to the other and up and down the stairs, and again she just let them...I just dont recommend the stars and strollers session to anyone.
Went to watch James Bond: No time to die
Nice employees, not a large movie selection. Ordering food was a bit confusing since the Outback part was on the side but no one was working there, you had to go order from the other side. No timeplay either.
Reclining seats & friendly staff. We went to the afternoon show so the theatre was pretty empty.
Love the recliner seats. Hotdog, drink and nachos is cheaper by 5 dollars than Landmark Cinema in Whitby and the nacho chips taste way better - for real.
Went on a Tuesday night and there was lots of parking. I had purchased advanced tickets for a group. Not all could make it and the staff easily refunded my money so others could enjoy the show
Good cinema, usually clean. Has extra reclining seat option for some of the movies. Whats better than going to a movie on a weekend night in Oshawa. Certainly need to go back after the Covid 19 to support Canadian business to keep this theatre running. Has been to this place over the years and certainly had a good time with friends and family there.
GARBAGE WEBSITE! STOLE MY MONEY! INCOMPETENT STAFF! I had numerous gift cards for Cineplex. The first issue I encountered was that I could not use more than one gift card to pay for the five people going to the movies. I had to use one card to pay for each individual all separate transactions so I could benefit of all of the gift cards. I was left with a $25 balance which I then hoped to use at the concession stand once I got there. Nobody knew how to do this. So I left the theater with a $25 credit on my account. A couple of weeks later I went to book a movie for my husband and I and my balance was zero. I called their hotline where it took them over an hour to call me back. I then waited on hold for another 35 minutes while the operator told me that her manager was having trouble reconciling it and that my balance was just zero. They took my email address and told me they would email me once they had it figured out. That was four days ago . I’m not sure where my $25 went but the math is pretty easy if you add up all my gift cards and add up the amount of people I brought to the movies. I will never attend Cineplex theaters again! Would give zero stars but it won’t let me.
Have been here twice now since it re opened. First time we saw Space Jam, currently here again watching Paw Patrol. Both times have been really great, the place is clean, the social distancing is done well. We have been very impressed with the procedures and protocols. I’m sure we will be back again soon!
Love the new look. New recliner seats, lots of leg room. I am coming for my next movie soon.
My experience was not good no ticket booth personal which in turn was poor customer service experience. The concession line was slow with no define line telling where to stand so people where cut in front. All in all not happy.
I dont go to the movies very often but I went to see the Incredibles 2. So I was like "hey I should splurge and get fancy seats. So I got d box seats which are hella expensive but honestly I think they're worth it. They seats themselves are so comfortable and really make you feel enagaged in the movie. Also the reclining buttons are just fun to play with
It was freezing cold in the theater (Jan. 19). My seat had grease or something I couldn't get off. What happened to picking your own seats ? They give you a seat like at a concert. What a joke !!!
They just took away front staff and now all there is are kiosks where you purchase your tickets electronically. I was all for this but....we had to go in and out of the ootions for 2 different movies about 6 times only to find out there were only a couple of seats left. There should be a better way. I will return again cos they have ice cream there but other than that is rather go somewhere else
staff was nice, a bit pricey, but clean, new, and not too many people.. we went to see Spidey/amazing on a Sunday , Mothers Day and it wasn't too crowded...loved the pre movie showings/commercials too..
The Best Movie Experience So Far... & I haven't seen the movie yet. The manager recognized me, after I've been a few times & had my drink order for me. I've been to movies a long time & I personally recommend this theatre!
Great recliner seats, quality popcorn and great movies
Arrived a 1/2 hr early to see Black Panther and there was a lineup for tickets, biggest problem was 2 of the 4 self serve terminals were out of order and there was nobody on the 2 empty tills to help alleviate the problem, needless to say, the wait was long. (Understaffed) : (
Nothing special but VERY CLEAN VERY WELL ORGANIZED and worth going...staff are very helpful
The seating in this theatre is fantastic, it appears like the VIP theaters at regular price. Very clean and spacious, I would love to watch any movie here.
Fantastic place, much better than Toronto
Staff are really nice, and all seats are recliners which is awesome. Just wish they had the cool pop machines like Landmark has
Excellent Covid-19 measures You can tell Cineplex is very committed to providing the public with a valuable social service while maintaining the strictest possible safety measures! Masks …
Had a good experience booking and watching the movie. One needs to show COVID vaccination proof to enter. Popcorn was expensive.
Only machines to buy tickets now, means less entry level jobs for students / teens. The reclining seats are great though.
There's no Time Play plus the combo option for two doesn't show up on their Terminal (You need to talk to someone in person for that combo offer). The movie experience was quite good.
This is a great theater but I really find it a shame that they only play the most popular (biggest money maker) films. Look at Landmark and all their selections, it makes going there a no brainer if you're going to see actual interesting films, and not just big budget action films.
Love the AVX theatre at this Cineplex. Large leather seats that recline. Lots of leg room. They do need to work on staffing concession a bit better though; we were waiting for a LONG time to get our food before the movie started and I think it's because they seemed to be short staffed that night. Overall a good experience though.
Good place to see a movie with recliner seating. They now serve beer and wine here as well and prices are probably not much higher then they are for a large pop????.
Had a blast, extremely clean ???? and super friendly staff
We had the whole theatre to ourselves. A great idea that works really well. Will do this again for sure.
Excellent theatre. Big screens, reclining seats clean and staff was excellent.
It was great! We went on a Monday so the place was completely empty, the staff was helpful & friendly, everything was stocked properly & the theatre was almost completely empty - just the way we like it!
Love the reclining seats! First time ever being here and I absolutely loved it (last night). If I had known this theatre had these seats, I would’ve only been coming here instead of Newmarket! Saw Bohemian Rhapsody and it was great. Audio level was perfect too
Unusually clean Theatre 7 with excellent reclining seats, good visual quality and clear sound. A small mis-ordering mistake at the concession stand was quickly correctly!
Great church service everyone is welcome kind inviting and if someone is looking for a place to worship it's very good especially when you're learning and fellowshipping about God
Great venue. Comfortable reclining seats. No obstructed views anywhere. Comfortable 3D glasses.
Nothing to do with the actual theatre itself as it is a beautiful theatre. I just have a problem with the no refund after half an hour rule. I saw 15:17 to Paris and it was absolutely horrible. I didn't know about their policy, and tried to stick it out as long as possible:approx 45 min-an hour. I left because I couldn't stand it, tried to get a refund and then was told of their policy. Half an hour is not enough time, as sometimes movies do pick up and get better after half an hour.
The new leather recliners are awesome and I just love the assigned seating. The lines at the concession stand move quickly and with the exception of one, the kids working there are very friendly and polite.
Good place. Though they do need a good upgrade like Landmark did. Their food choices are good but limited. Mostly come here because I get Scene points from Scotiabank to use.
Clean, friendly staff. Not enough distancing in the theater seats. Had both the front and back seats taken, instead of the "every other row" as advertised.
Pick your own seat before entering the theater. Seat purchase is self serve. Not very customer friendly.
Recently, our Movie in Theater 4 had a MASSIVE GREEN BLEED down the entire right side of the screen... so bad that us, and many others complained after and got free vouchers for another movie. The other concern is that they never have coffee or tea ready and the staff always come of a bored and 'disturbed' when you ask for it..like you are bothering them ... I think we will keep to our Courtice Theatre from now on.
Couldn't book tickets online and see almost didn't get in. Other than that, a decent cinema.
Good location with all the 'perks'; DBox seats available, IMAX, 3D. No longer allowed refills on pop/popcorn, which is ridiculous considering the prices.
We saw thr latest Marvel movie in 3D, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings". The theater was not busy at all. It was super clean as well. Capacities were kept low. The only complaint we have is that a bottle of water costs $5.60 with tax and we could not use our $5 scene bucks to but it. Stupidly expensive. Movie was worth it. Nice to see a movie on the big screen again.
I've watched Deadpool 2 and Avengers Infinity War at this theatre and it was amazing! The seats are comfortable and the location is perfect. Definitely recommend this to anyone new to the area or just wants a new Cineplex experience.
After a long wait to buy my tickets, from a machine none the less, I had trouble with the purchase and decided to buy tickets at concession stand. After another 10 minutes, it seemed like the line wasn't moving so we left, no movie! Don't be so cheap, get rid of the computers
I would have given this theater a 5 stars before my visit 2 days ago. See they removed slushies because they weren't selling too well, which is not a problem. However, guess what they replaced them with? ALCOHOL. Yup! They apparently advocate for intoxication in the theater now. You wanna go to the theater? TOO BAD cause chances are the person next to you will stink like alcohol, could be super drunk that they may vomit next to you, could be drunk enough to cause chaos while handling their food, etc. Well it's good that I have a home theater so I won't have to go there again, but what will you do?
Having the option to reserve the recliners has changed movie watching for ever! The only way to watch a movie away from the comfort of my couch.
Could not get app to work selecting seats had to drive there to get tickets. Also don't like that there are no cashiers at all! Another company getting rid of employees. No one to talk to if u have an issue.
Friendly staff. Great big spacious seats
The theater was clean and the seats were comfortable and the people treated us really nice. I enjoyed the whole experience there.
Super comfortable seating with elbow room. Great sound. Parking plentiful. Like all other theatres. Overpriced concessions.
One of my favourite movie theatres. Clean, comfortable and accommodating, I drive from two towns over to get to Cineplex Odeon Oshawa. It's worth it.
Clean, tidy. The seats semi recline, and the armrests flip up too. Offers more food choices and a fun little arcade. Parking is easy. Love it.
It was ok some movies are for kids
The recliners are so comfortable, and my 7 year old LOVES the D-Box seats. Every time we come, the staff always have a smile on their face, and are pleasant when they serve you. Always clean, this is a fantastic theatre just minutes off the 115.
Washrooms are clean and stocked. Various options to buy ticket, kiosk, counter or online. Popcorn is fresh. Downside is parking if show is popular.
Great location for all your movie watching needs, I goto this one for the real cool movies worth seeing in style for sure worth the memories you will share here with friends
Just visited for the first time in a long time and it was terrible. The worst customer service I have ever encountered. My family of 5 will not be returning. I have tried to contact the management to report the issue but no response.
Great service and good quality theatres just needs more parking when a popular movie releases or get someone to shovel out parking spots in winter so no one has to park along sides and block others
Prices are insane but that's the movie business these days. Theatre is great but only venture out for the best movies of the year. A lot of automation replacing many staff positions. I for one welcome our new robot overlords.
Amazing theatre with very comfortable seats!
Recliner seats were a great addition, not too much recline to put you to sleep, but just enough to make the viewing more comfortable
Going to this theater for years now and its usually has the latest movies, especially big releases. An arcade section to kill time and decent enough food options if you like wasting money.
I once tried to bring a small backpack in, and they wouldn't let me. Mean while, I saw/see many women bring purses and arm bags that were larger than mine. What's with the double standards? Besides, it's overpriced, and they lack the organization to deal with their business so there is minimal waiting, and lineups.
Bought tickets at the Clarington Cinema by accident. Staff found out and dealt with it in time for us to see the show! Thanks, Malik and Kailash!
I just can't believe ,so many people come to watch movie everyday and nobody ever complained about the silly railing. My toddler could not see the screen because the railing was deviding screen in two parts. Even i was sitting too straight to see the full screen then whats the point of recliner seats. i have never seen such foolish design in cinemas. It felt like i just flushed my money.
Clean and always enjoyable, but minus one star for the chain removing the free refills on large sized drinks. On an already overpriced beverage, and with the wholesale cost of soda being in the pennies per cup, this just smacked of nickel and diming honestly. I've since tried Landmark Cinemas in Whitby...and their beverages remain with free refills.
It's very easy to get a ticket, and very clean in the lobby. Staff at the concessions were friendly and helpful. Also, the ticket taker and cleaners are friendly. The recliners are so comfortable. I really enjoy this theatre.
The new reclining seats are very comfortable. Concessions have always been overpriced but the staff prepares them well. The popcorn is vegan as long as you don't get butter behind the counter - the butter flavoring that you add yourself is vegan! Other vegan options include slushies, skittles, fries.
My experience at Cineplex Odeon Oshawa today September 19th, 2021 was great. The employees were kind, friendly and respectful as I'm sure it's something we all expect to happen when spending money at any business whether it's a movie theater, a sit-in restaurant, a retail store, etc. I'm definitely going here again and I recommend others who live nearby this movie theater to consider going here as well.
Love the new seats.. very clean and great atmosphere.
Friendly staff always clean. Food and beverage prices are ridiculous but you don't have a choice if you wanna see a movie in a theatre. Can never pass up on their popcorn! Lol... Extremely comfortable seats and sound and picture quality is A++
The best Cineplex i hv been to. All automatic recliner seats. Comfy. Clean place. Best place for chillin with friends
30 minutes watching commercials before the movie, some of them multiple times. Got 2 or 3 trailers in the mix. Movie supposed to start at 230 was 245. Not spaced seating so no food allowed or sold and you have to wear the mask the whole movie
Convenient location for me. Not too busy and recliner seats. Love it all.
I am very upset with my recent experience. I took a friend to see the Lion King and were placed in the top row due to lack of other seating. To our dismay, the handrail obstructed our view. Half way through, we decided to leave. When we approached an employee we were told that a refund can only be issue if it was within the first 30 minutes which is completely ridiculous. I contacted customer support and explained what had happened, and was told the same thing. We honestly would of been happy with replacement tickets to another show. Money and time wasted. Very disappointed.
Great place, very clean, need to update booster seats to better fit recliners.
Great place to see movie and go on date night. Wish the seats were marked better.
Amazing as usual! Go see Free Guy!
Thi theatre use to have reserved seating so all seats would be filled and your party could sit together . No one was able to use their coat to reserves a seat that waa never going to be used or sit with single available seats on either side. Last time I was there I had to ask a couple to move down so three of us could sit together as a family. Organized seating needs to return so no one's experience is ruined because of the inability to see a movie together .
Right now the parking lot is a hang out for SOCIAL DISTANCING, eating, practicing driving, taking a brake, walking and more.
If I could I would rate it 0 stars.... went 2 days in a row first day no nachos ans screaming kids at fast ans furious at 10pm with the Dad on the phone so disrespectful seccond day no hot dogs!you sell 3 things get it together
Very friendly staff and clean. The theatres with recliners are very spacious and comfortable. Will def go back.
They had no food or drinks. Our only options were popcorn and fruitopia or iced tea. No nachos or hot dogs or drink options or even food from other sections of the food area. Quite disappointed.
Highly disappointing to have your view obstructed with a handrail during a movie. I couldnt use the recline function without making the railing getting higher in my view of the screen. At my childs height the handrail was cutting through the middle of the screen. Our last visit was amazing as we got to watch a movie in comfy reclining seats being able to see the full screen without a black bar in the middle...this time I felt robbed of that comfort in the same theater due to the railings added since that visit.
36.99 for two popcorn, two drink? The world has gone mad!
Church service was awesome! Abundant Life Gospel ministry. It started at 9:30am and ended at 11. Pastor Kevin is a true man of God and preached a powerful message. Yes it's in a theater???? All are welcome. I'm visiting from New York and it's my cousins church, but am truly happy I went. If you live nearby, definitely go out and visit. What a blessing you'll receive.
Nice theaters, clean floors, good sound, the reclining chairs are great, but everything there is extremely overpriced.
Had a great time. Took the kids to see paw patrol. Nice to be out to a movie again. Everyone was spaced out great we had comfy chairs was great.
If you like cinema just book your ticket and run. Good for all ages and families.
We go and show our vaccine proof and the manager doesn’t understand how to read an out of province document so she sends us away. We’re fully vaccinated yet we are still denied entry. This is what happens when you have uneducated kids read medical documents.
Comfortable seating, clean and following covid 19 guidelines. I like this theatre.
New recliner seats in theatre 4 made for a great viewing experience. Dont know how many other theatres have it, but that was a bonus. Love that you get loads more personal space. Plus, regular tickets are $8 on Tuesday! All in all, I'd go back here again.
Not the most modernized theatre but the staff was friendly and the theaters themselves were small enough that any seat is a good one
Friendly and helpful staff, clean theater and easily the most comfortable seats that I've seen in a cinema. And I've been to a lot. Arcade is tiny and will eat your tokens if you throw them in too quickly though. But I'm just there for the movies. :D Maybe I'll try some food next time. And buy one of those adorable plushies. Oh, but the audio is crazy loud, loudest theatre I've ever been to. My friend thought it was fine, but it was a good thing I brought HiFi earplugs or I wouldn't have been able to tolerate it.
Clean facility and friendly staff. Great selection at concession stand and licensed. Only gripe is the nachos are cold and hard.
The worst thing they ever did was stick the ticket vendors in the concession. We purchased a ticket package from Costco and had to redeem the tickets while everyone was trying to buy snacks for their movies and it felt like an overall pain for those behind us. It's still outrageously expensive to go but the seats recline, the sound is awesome and it's a fun thing to do as a family!
Been going to this theater since it opened. Have had great memories here. Staff is always great and they update the theater often. Loving the new arcade area as well! Just went to see No Time to Die and it's been since 1917 came out in theaters since I saw a movie in it. Good to be back :)
The chairs are so comfortable there like lazy boys there recline and they put your feet up the sound wasn't too loud the picture was great we really enjoyed the movie
never had a problem
My children had a great time at a private bday party. Xbox games were played on big the screen. Lots of fun
Reserved seats to see Ghostbusters, which was pretty cool. However, the added comfort seats which provided the ability to rock/recline I find were unnecessary. Not to mention all of the squeaking sound throughout the theatre as everyone moved and adjusted their seating position. Also, the extra money people paid for the AVX box is ridiculous. These seats rocked and shook during various scenes and looked silly rather than adding to the viewing experience. Finally, customer service was great after I put a $20 bill into their token machine (should have read the instructions first) and got about a gazillion tokens. Thought it was OK because we had to kill 30 mins before the movie, but out of at least a dozen arcade games only three were operable. I brought this to the attention of customer service and thankfully they opened up the token machine and have me my money back.
Busy place but you can buy beer and wine here now. Its kept clean except for the popcorn in my seat but it wasn't bad. I'll be back.
Its a smaller theatre but still nice. Usual line ups for food. The staff is friendly theatres are always clean. It's alright.
Pleasent staff, large theater. Very comfortable. Sometimes they have special screenings that aren't shown in other theaters. A good choice for a nice night at the movies.
Been going here since I was a child, I owe countless and priceless memories to this establishment, The theater upgrades are amazing and love to see how future changes come through! Best place to go to the movies in Oshawa, besides the old forgotten Famous Players in the Oshawa Center, I love the new updates to the arcade too! Wish there was more at the Oshawa Cineplex but it brings back that same feel and temptation to get the high score on dance dance Revolution
Amazing, clean everything was just perfect ????
Seats are very comfortable and the people were very nice and friendly. Your snacks are outrageously overpriced. 28.00 for 2 popcorn and 2 drinks. Stupid
Comfy seats and no hastle online tickets. Don't like to see fewer jobs for young people though, and it's getting too expensive to take a family to the movies anymore.
Seats are fully reclining and very comfortable. Staff are very helpful and nice. Glad we visited after such a long covid pause and saw them follow all protocol perfectly.
Comfy seats and I like the fact that you pick your seats ahead of time. Movies are just too expensive these days so we don't go too often.
The best Cinema I have been to, I live in Scarborough but this has become my family's favorite. Soft Leather reclining seats. The layout therefore holds less seats than the regular cinemas therefore you have buy tickets before you go to reserve your seat. The Starbucks coffee never tasted close to "Starbucks" and they don't take Star Bucks card or App.
Horrid choice of movies. Ud think they would show some select theatre releases like devils rejects 2 or dragon ball super broly.
Nice place, only rated 3 stars because the cleanliness presented by night staff seemed to be slacking, garbages overflowing or near to it, amongst other things that attracted my attention. Makes me wonder if the basics aren't kept up....is anyone wiping down those theater recliners? Ajax may not have recliners but I've watched them disinfect their seats after a show, something I have yet to witness the several times I've visited.
Nice place to catch a movie, also has arcade games inside for children.
The staff were very friendly and greeted me with a smile, and were helpful in explaining that my scene card was old, and how to go about getting a new one.
Good. clean. The only complaint is that although the pre show was a perfect volume the movie previews and actually movie was much too loud.
Always clean and show times are onetime. The customer base seems to be better then other theaters. Would highly recommend for a good theatre experience.
Awesome place to hang out with friends or with your significant other and always have a good time. Whether it be enjoy a movie with awesome surround sound and 3D graphics or hanging out in the arcade, you're sure to have a blast. The food is a little pricey but other than that, I would recommend this place.
Nice Theatre. Polite and kind people, especially the co-workers. Good seats. Overall pretty chill. Keep up the good work.
Very welcoming staff, clean location.
Awesome experience neat and clean staff is very friendly seats are awesome I really like AVX and they have Dolby sound.
Fun D-Box seats in theater 5, watching Free Guy! Movie 8/10!
All recliners! Couldn’t have found a better seating for this price. Less busy than cinemas in Whitby/Ajax- would highly recommend trying out this cinema.
Normal movie experience. Very kind and professional Manager was helpful when we need our seats changed. The only issue was that the computer indicated that the movie was sold out but there were many seats available.
I use to enjoy going out to the movies but now all the self service lines and lining up again to get your non-popcorn food is stressful. And the prices. ..... My movie was sold out and I had a very hard time reading the signage at the box office
Overall this movie theater isn't bad. I just wish they would do something about the black bars blocking your veiw of the bottom of the seat. (Landmark fix the issue by raising the seats but Cineplex has yet to do anything) the pricing isn't too bad for most items. The theater is kept quite clean at most times which is nice.
This Cineplex has one of the excellent seats because they're all recliner seats and leather. Customer service is okay but I dislike the fact all the Cineplex have removed customer service desk where you can actually buy the tickets and now they have computer kiosks everywhere to buy tickets and since some time they are unreliable. Overly priced popcorn and drinks what a rip off!!
I used to be a cineslave at this exact location back when i was 15. I hate popcorn and all carbonated drinks thanks to them. However i must say, really stepped it up with the recliner seats ????
Had a blast, extremely clean ???? and super friendly staff
Went here with my little sister who is in a wheelchair... the staff were friendly and interacted with her... she had an amazing movie experience and was a really happy little girl. I usually come with friends and the place is usually well maintained
Great seating, disability parking, very clean and I felt safe with the vaccine only policy
Great place with recliner seats at a cheap price. The staff was really friendly. The food was amazing. Especially the hot section - you have to try their boneless chicken bites. Too good! Just one thing to note, although it’s recliners but not a 100% comfortable. I had slight backpain later. Other than that, had a good time here.
Just great to be able to go to the movies again! Clean theatre with reclining seats. Saw FreeGuy and enjoyed it. ????????
Our go to theatre. Always a pleasant experience.
I'll always be a fan of movies and movie theaters but tonight I was five minutes late and since they couldn't afford someone to check the tickets, somebody was in my seat. Of course I should have said something but I took the high road and sat somewhere else. C'est la vie.
We went to watch avengers end game. I haven't been the for at least 3 years. It's looks better I also enjoy that they have Dbox, a food section with burgers and mac and cheese bites as well as the regular consession foods. Also a bonus is they sell alcohol
Sitting on an aisle seat is torture with people stomping up and down the stairs constantly throughout the movie. Each time an adult or child walked up or down the stairs, my seat shook. Next time I will be sure to choose the seats in the middle of the theatre.
they left the lights on during the movie, and put the sound system on the wrong channel so we couldn't hear it... The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because it was clean and they gave us passes along with our refund. With the machines taking place of humans, you think that they would have more time to get stuff done properly. But it actually just makes them lazier.
A very positive movie-going experience. Nothing too groundbreaking, and unlike other Cineplex in Toronto and bigger cities you cannot fill your own drink. There are also no refills.
July 27 went to see Black Widow. Cineplex did a great job of social distancing.
I love this cinema a good place to spend an evening of film the attention the atmosphere are very kind the chairs are very comfortable I give it 5 stars
The only place is Oshawa to watch Movies ! The place is hygenic and well maintained ! The staff at the theater is extremely polite !
The employees were kind and respectful, I have no complaints pertaining to all the times I've attended this theater with both friends and family. Have a happy new year!
I simply love the vibe of the place. Cineplex make your experience of watching a movie a very pleasurable one! The seats are very comfortable. If you ever get a D-BOX seat (at the very last line), you will feel like you are in the movie-- the seats move and vibrate according to actions in movie. They have well maintained washrooms with dryers convenient to children height. The whole cinema care about your kids very much????. The popcorn are super tasty, loaded with butter????. Cineplex Odeon also have OutTakes (a food chain offering non-vegetarian hotdogs, nachos and much more????). I hope you enjoy the experience????
It was fun but the popcorn an pop was 83$ for 4 ppl. ???? ????
Decent place to go to. The arcade place is small but that's not why you go there lol. Has an upstairs party thing. Easy acces 5o washrooms and movie theatre rooms. Parking is huge.
My best experience in cineplex and Ultra AVX. They change their seats and the new ones are more comfortable than my home sofas plus they have footrest on seats. My mind just blown tonight just because of seats lol.
Always fast and friendly service. Popcorn is always fresh and never tastes bland, and the newer frozen yogurt option is quite welcome.
Massive screens and super comfy seats also I love that you can order Chicken, burgers, fries, and frozen yogurt at concession, so much better then only having popcorn, candy, and pop.
Got there just before the most recent covid wave. Clean facilities, decent spacing between people. The only gripe I have is a 7 dollar small popcorn??? I get it that concessions need to be inflated to meet overhead.. but 7 dollars. Maybe I'm just old fashioned and stingy.
This theatre is great to watch movies in.
Decent sized cinema. Seats are quite comfy. There are arcade games and a photo booth, which is cool.
Nice theater, generally clean, staff can be rude sometimes, but all in all pretty good.
I came here many times before but it has changed alot since my last time 8 months ago. We brought the kids for the March break special early movies and found that the theaters have been converted to reclining chairs which has made it much less capacity per movie since the reclining chair takes up the space of maybe 3 of the old seats. Now I understand why the price has gone up to almost 13 dollars for a regular admission. What I didn't like was the fact that the concession stand was so expensive. It's popcorn and a hotdog and nachos with fountain pop. It cost me 26 dollars. I will for sure feed the kids at home next time for 2 dollars rather than shell out that much again.
One of the best theatres around. The biggest disappointment is that they just switched to an all electronic service system, so say goodbye to the people helping out those who aren't so handy with technology.
Good social distance practices and friendly. Still pay 20$ for 90cents worth of pop and a bag of stale cold popcorn lol. But what do you expect. Enjoyed the movie liked the leather reclining seats.
Lots of parking. We had the large seats which recline. They were very nice. Theatre was clean.
Good, due to covid you can't eat inside the theatre..
We go as a family to watch 2D, cause 3d gives me headaches for days. Recliner seats are swesome lots of space and pre booking is great!
Best Theatre in Durham even better seats than the new Pickering vip. Sears are bigger and recline further.
I must say, this is one of my favorite theatres. All seats are the extremely comfortable recliners. The theaters are a bit smaller and usually packed, so plan ahead! We always grab out tickets online well before the movie, and manage to get good seats. We have seen movies that were recently released, fully sold out. Service, food, drinks are typical of what you'd expect from Cineplex.
Fairly clean, usually not too crowded, and the best part is the spacious AVX seats with reclining. I just wish theres VIP auds. Lol
Great seats and took advantage of half price movie day so I got a free movie and $5 off my popcorn (so movie, popcorn, chocolate and pop and cost me $3)
They have lazy boy seats in all the theatres so you dont have to worry about cramped spaces or arm rests.
Had a party for my daughters and everything was well untill we went into the movie (reserved seating) and there was a mistake and we had no seats on a almost sold out show. They where able to put us front row and scattered. I was not impressed but wasn't so bad because the manager said that my evening would be comped ($400 bill) not only that but when we got back to the party room they had put together loot bags with snacks, toys and free movie ticket for each kid. Also gave me 6 premium movie passes myself. I work retail and understand accidents can happen. What's important is how you fix the problem and I'd like to say the staff went above and beyond. I left happy and will have no problem booking a party even with the issues I had. Thank you and I appreciate how you handled the issue.
Love the recliners.....
The chairs are so comfy now!!!! Feels like I'm back at home on the couch watching my favorite movies on the big screen, larger sized theater aswell which is amazing
One of my favourite places, I love movies.
A really great place to go watch movies with family, freinds n loved ones, easy to get tickets if u dont have a scene card make sure to get it the points u earn can get u alot of free movies and food combos
Shows movies. Staff were ok. Some seemed a touch clueless. Can't blame them all to much. Things can get pretty hectic there. That's about it. I didn't care for their reclining theatre. Can't remember which screen. Much prefer the reclining seats at the Landmark Theatre in Whitby.
Me and my family love going to the movies. We were died hard famousplayers customers until we went to are first cineplex odeon. We have been going to this theater for 4 years now and have never had a bad experience.
Busy place. This theater has lot of food so be sure to dig in. The fries are great especially mid movie. The chairs are comfy and the sound and video very clear. Staff are friendly and approachable. They are really good at handling situations. My Dbox seat was not working during a movie so they moved me and my date to new seats which kept us together and gave us a great first impression the experience with this location. The game room is a bit small but has a few decent games in it. Overall a great place to go see a movie with friends, family or even a romantic night out.
Pre-ordered tickets online so fast entry (would recommend). Food kiosks moved quickly. Generally clean, lots of parking. Recliner seats are great,(if you happen to see a movie in a theater featuring these). Prefer this Cineplex to other theaters in the area.
Getting ticket was little bit of challenge for senior ladies not used to going to movie theaters anymore, but help was just around the corner from friendly staff. Book Club was our choice of movie today and it was a ten. Popcorn was delish!
Great place with nice reclining seats. Saturdays is $2:50 for kids and adults for older "kids" films like Shrek, Wonder and many others. New one every weekend.
A nice and large cineplex. Very clean and well staffed. Comfy almost reclining, extra padded chairs and good spread of showtimes compared to other Durham theatres.
Clean theatres. Concessions still high and would be nice if canteen staff knew the prices and deals and how to get the best deal on concessions. Not happy with new menu board.
Great AVX Theater. Concessions are always staffed, Arcade is small but fun. There is an upstairs 'party area' for kids get togethers and getting in and getting your ticket is fast and convenient. Parking is usually pretty packed though on busy nights. I recommend the mixed slushy !
The movie selection was great, the theater very clean, the attendance of very helpful. Other than the crazy prices for snacks and refreshments we had a fantastic time.
AVX theatre, 3D, Dbox and reclining seats. Great for a night out with the family. Tickets can purchased online or at the kiosk. Food gets really expensive. They have a small arcade for the kids to play at around. The theatres all have assigned seating. No more sitting right in the front row, unless you want that. Oh, and they now sell beer!!!!!
I really like what they have done to the theaters. The big recliners makes it a much more pleasant way to watch a movie. Now if they would only do something with the over priced popcorn.
I really enjoy how they renovated the theater, great seating and the special effects in the last row of specialty Lazy Recliners is fantastic. its almost like Being at home, only with 100 of your closest friends ha ha Great place
Amazing seats not the same as when I was a kid lots of room not over crowded at all
Great spot, good sound. Too small; should move to AMC Complex and replace Landmark. Fries and Nachos are a PLUS. Good service
Clean cinema with extremely comfortable seats and LOTS of leg and head room with the full recliner seat theatres!! love here
This is the main theatre I use for watching movies. I've seen most of the big releases here. It's always clean. I order my tickets online and can quickly pick them up when I go to watch the movie. For most movies I see, I get to pick my seat. The scene points are great and I often get free movies
We drove from Richmond Hill to Oshawa as my girls wanted to see 100% Wolf and this was the closest theatre. We were not disappointed. Covid protocol firmly in place. Theatre has sanitizer available in numerous places. The cinema was extremely clean. The kids (and i) loved the reclining chairs. The movie was fun. On a side note, i booked four tickets but my husband ended up not going. The manager refunded the scene points without question or hassle.
It's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy movies with your family..
I really like the recliners but the automated ticket machines are kinda sucky. They need to be more responsive or sensitive or something. Because when you sit there poking at it like a monkey working a new tool is ridiculous.
Watched "Jurassic World: (something)". Didn't pay much attention to the movie. Good venue. Comfy seats. Not busy. Keep going back.
The Best Movie Experience So Far... & I haven't seen the movie yet. The manager recognized me, after I've been a few times & had my drink order for me. I've been to movies a long time & I personally recommend this theatre!
If you enjoy impersonal interactions with students, dirty carpets, dingy lighting, overcrowded areas and screaming children-it's great! Otherwise... Choose another theatre. Something that at bare minimum justifies the cost to see the movie. I find this theatre to have a very 'empty' feeling-yet very overcrowded. It has a cold and barren atmosphere to it.
It was a lot better when they didn't have reserved seating. The yogurt place is not a good idea. Tried the nachos and hot dogs and they were good.
Up until this weekend, this was one of my favourite theatres to see at movie at. Then I went and watched Captain Marvel at their so-called Ultra AVX theatre and I came away thinking “too dark, too quiet”. I paid the extra money for what was supposed to be a superior experience, and what I got was below average screening that left me straining to see details on screen. Save your money.
Had lots of big halls and very comfy seats. The walking space is double of other halls. Clarity is good. Only challenge is they put up a lot of commercials and ads. So even if you are 5-10 min late, you haven't missed much unless you like the commercials. Easy to get tickets and enter the theater. They got some gaming consoles outside near the food arena.
Largest cineplex in Durham, so always has a better selection of movie times. Love the recliner seats, can never go back to regular!!
Great place to take the family for a movie antime, or also if you have a birthday party fur little ones the arcade is a 6/10 not to many games but they do have party rooms you can rent which again are ok. The theatre seats are very comfortable but overall definitely worth a trip.
Packed like sardines and hot. Better to pay more for a theatre that lets you pick your seat. Number 8 is not one of these.
I have never dound it difficult to find a parking aot here. The reps are very helpful most of the time and the place is fairly clean and spacious. I wish they would start serving beer in this location and then it's 5 star from me.
Pretty much every area was dirty: Condiment stands, washrooms, seating areas, floors. We had to wait 45 minutes for them to clean the theatre and the whole theatre was being seated as the movie was starting. There is also very little seating in the lobby while you wait and the majority is up a long flight of stairs. The reclining seat theatre we sat in was nice though.
This place is a cool cinema. There are plenty of things you can do as you wait, like playing at the arcade and using the photo booth. Comfy reclining leather chairs in the theater room. You can even rent your own theater for a Birthday! Although there snacks are to pricey...
Has some terrific staff who can be extremely helpful. Very easy to navigate the place and the arcade is a very cool plus. Not too bad of prices for tickets either.
Where all of the humans? Why is there so many self driven interactions? If I have to go through the trouble of doing things myself, why is the price still so much? Shouldn't there be a discount on tickets if no one is being paid for the work I'm doing when I go there?
New recliner seats are awesome. Finally feel like you're getting proper value for the cost of a movie ticket.
This movie theatre has the reclining seats in some of its auditoriums. The last two times I have been there its been amazing...I don't know if I can watch a movie in a reg seat anymore..Lol. the reclining seat option is so roomy. To give an example...I had my feet stretched out on the foot rest and someone was passing by to get out...I didn't even have to move they had plenty of room to walk by
Clean, not to busy and staff were friendly. There was a miscommunication with my concession order and the ladt happily returned my money and rang it up again. No issues. Great service!
Great seating, and perfect spot to watch a matinee. Staff is extremely nice.
Large and one of the cleaner theatres I've been too. Staff was friendly and helpful :) only complaint, the pre pay at the front doesn't accept cash.
They offered my layered butter which is how I always get it anyways but this time they charged me for butter twice. Who does that Lol go to landmark in Whitby it’s cheaper and they’re recliners are bigger
Seats are great clean facilities however the sound was too loud and I find it anoying that their is no human to purchase tickets from especially when the machine was acting up when I was trying to make my payment. Guess self serve is what we are all getting used to for gas, food, checking into airports and now movie. We will one day look back and wonder why their are so many people without jobs. At least for now they still have humans at the snack bar. L
They make me feel comfortable everytime. Thats why I love Cineplex Odeon Oshawa!!!
Soooooo my seat was all broken and such, but the manager gave me 4 free movies for that, and some free popcorn. I wasnt happy with the seat situation, but i am definately happy with thw resolve.
Really enjoyed the recliner seats.
The machines to buy tickets from are not a good replacement for actual human employees. If you could just go ahead and hire people to sell tickets again, that'd be great. The Theaters themselves are nice, the reclining seats are great. The concessions are ok, of course we have the insane overpriced food but I suppose all theaters are like this. Landmark theater does a better job with the concessions than Cineplex does.
Friendly staff and new movies... what more can you ask for :-)
This is my favorite Cineplex location. They have updated auditoriums. Reclining seats, DBox, Dolby Atmos sound system. Place is well maintained and clean too
The theatre is pretty loud. I'll probably bring something to dampen the noise next time. The seats are comfy though!
Best theatre we have been to and love the recliners. Just moved into the area and haven't ran into this type of set up in Toronto but this was awesome. Most comfortable seats to watch a movie. Recommended to anyone.
It's an ok theater, reclining seats etc. No one is ever available to assist you if you need anything other than the kiosks. Generally no that busy of a theater.
They usually have a good selection of movies. Clean theatres and friendly service. They also have a party room and arcade if your waiting around for a movie.
What a disgrace in the customer service department. Self serve everything, over priced stale popcorn and poor availability of every option. Stay home and watch Netflix or head to another town.
Over priced food popcorn was second rate, and the stupid rails between the seats cuts into your viewing. My granddaughter had to sit on my lap to watch the movie. I won't be going back, I rather drive an hour to a drive-in and watch the movies it won't cost me $27 for a popcorn hotdog and two pops.
We were sad to see that the staff have been replaced by machines to buy your tickets. The seating is great though. The seats are big and comfortable and you can recline them.
I'd like to share a review but there's no way to contact them and their online ticket purchases doesn't seem to work. I only ever get "Cineplex online ticketing has encountered an error" no matter what I do.
My favorite ciniplex location by far. I havent been everywhere but in the Durham area this is my favorite spot.
The staff were friendly, and aware of my needs and likes as a paying customer. The lobby and theatres were cleaner than you'd expect of a cinema too. An enjoyable outing.
Clean and comfortable seats. Usually good crowds. The facility is quite new. The theatre rooms are spacious.
Very clean. Only gripe is the placement of the safety bars in the theatre. The bars interfere with viewing the screen when fully reclined.
Very pleasant staff. Asked for a movie poster and staff was very accommodating to a die hard pearl jam fan. Food is very expensive though and no free refills on crazy high priced softdrinks is ridiculous not to mentioned they even shrunk the size of a large softdrink. However the theatre is always clean. This location is awesome but cineplex as a corporation needs much improvement. They dont even have tellers to buy movie tickets usually all self serve. Don't waste your time calling the theatre. Its all automated.
A couple of self serve ticket kiosks were not operational causing a delay in getting tickets. Then the staff at the concession stand messed up my order and it took three people to figure out how to fix it. Then was sent to the wrong section of the concession to get my food when the first one was supposed to hand it to me. This all resulted in being nearly 10 minutes late for the movie. Luckily there are a disgusting amount of previews so we didn't miss any of the movie. That's the only reason tonight's visit got 3 stars. All in all, terrible customer service.
Disappointing! We got to our seats only to find our view obstructed by a handrail when reclined. The website should mention the view obstruction! The recling seats were uncomfortable and small compared to Bowmanville.
Large clean facility... Not a fan of the presale sale of individual seating... Takes away from the traditional way of "going to the movies". This just encourages ppl to stroll in when ever they want rather than be seated and ready for when the movie starts. Bottom line is this is a good place to watch a movie and plenty choices for concessions. And a play area for the kiddies.
I do enjoy it here. Sometimes dirty, but I blame the disrespectful viewers. Staff is constantly cleaning up after people who are filthy. Prices are par with other theaters. Offer some older movies for a cheaper retro experience. Good for new releases. Usually packed. Tasty foodstuffs. Sometimes the popcorn is to salty. I keep coming back, I always enjoy my experience.
Not sure if it's this cineplex or all. They've now remove the scene points combo and they now charge for flavor shakers. It's like they feel the need to suck every joy out of going to the movies. This is why I don't make going to a movie theater a regular thing. I'll wait for the movie network unless I realllllly want to see that movie.
Nice, smaller theatre with good service... frozen yogurt and a Starbucks Coffee cost less than $7. I've never spent that little on a snack in a theatre before.
Good theater with clean seats and rooms. The only theater in the area though so it's often busy as heck during Prime Time. Plenty of parking and standard prices and selections. The self serve model is a little annoying for ticket purchase so do yourself a favor and buy your tickets online Ahead of time.
Seats are not comfortable, went and saw the new Captain America on opening weekend and had to sit in the front. Couldn't really see well being on such an awkward angle. Those seats should have never been put in, I would have rather the movie be sold out and pick a different show than be stuck in those seats. At least the theater wasn't freezing cold like the Ajax one and I have to say it is kept nice and clean, and the staff is friendly.
This place is a joke they don't let food or drinks in the theater yet everyone brings their own in and does whatever they want inside. Why did we all get vaccinated?? So you could restrict everything and then not enforce a ything in the theater? What a joke
So good!
I will not be returning to these theatres in the future. I had coupons for buy one get one free admission and thought it would be an affordable outing. I am aware of how expensive things have become, but did not expect to pay $60 for popcorn and pop and 2 admissions and then find out that nothing can be refilled so we had to buy extra for the kids too. Whitby Landmark theatres are much more affordable while providing the same great service.
There is no service at the theatre. You pretty much have to buy online, in advance or line up endlessly. AND there were only 2 self serve stations open. By the time we got to the self serve machine, there were no decent seats left.
Experience is great. Covid rules were barely noticeable.
Disappointed to say my first day back was poor. Wrong drink dispensed by "Austin" popcorn very stale and theater felt like it wasn't aired out since March, very stuffy.
Arrived early with my sister to watch the 1.30 matinee. Only 2 seats left in the very front row "AA". We both struggled to get down the stairs to these seats and struggled to watch the movie due to the close proximity of the screen. Also, the theatre was quite empty yet there were no ushers to suggest moving us up to normal level. Dreadful experience.
No ticket counter. Either pay at automated kiosk or go straight to the concession stand to get your tickets and snacks. Clean theatre with wide reclining seats.
New electric reclining seats & isle width are great! Food prices have become a bit ridiculous. Staff are usually friendly. Wish they had removed all the carpet when they did the renovations.
The movies are always a fun night, but the prices are absolutely exorbitant. Couple that with there being very few staff around, as you deal with ticket machines for your admission. The theatres themselves are usually clean and well kept, and comfortable, though. Just beware of how much you pay for the experience.
Fantastic! I haven't been out to the movies in years and this place had reclining chairs! They are soo comfortable! It's the best way to watch a movie. Just make sure you go pee before the movie starts or everyone will have to sit back up to let you by lol.
Very impressed with the COVID-19 protocols in place. Clean, neat and overall a safe movie experience. Managers were welcoming and nice, very professional and overall extremely thorough. I'll be back soon.
Went to order a beer at the food stand and was told when I got to the cash that I had to order a beer at the beer stand. I waited 15 minutes for them to find the one worker on a Saturday night that has their smart serve....
Staff was super friendly and helpful especially during Covid :)
Nice staff. It's a smaller theater with only 10 screens. Lots of places to eat food close by.
Took my son and a Friend bought their tickets and snacks then they weren't allowed in the movie because they weren't old enough. Wondering why they first sold the tickets. Now kids have 30 bucks worth of snacks and no movie to watch after attempting to speak with the manager about next solution and her making excuses for her employees kids reluctantly agreed to see another movie. Once inside they realize the manager gave them seats in the very first row where they couldn't see anything. Next time I will drive the extra 10 min to another theater. Very disappointed with Cineplex Oshawa.
This Cineplex on Tauton Road is great fun for all with games and snacks and the theater seats are big recliners with lots of room and you do not need to move when someone wants to walk in front of you lots of space in front of the recliner chair for people to walk
I go here at least once a month, it is always a great experience. I find the movie selection is a bit shorter then other theaters in the area, but there's always great service! Another plus to this location is that it is always clean including the lounge area, concession stand, theater itself, and the washrooms! Saturday nights can be busy, but if you get there early (or get your tickets online) there's no problems at all.
Pretty sad that you cannot speak tp an actual person at the actual theatre. Especially when you are from out of town and need to know if they found an item that you think fell out of your coat BEFORE you drive the 45 min to see if it is there.
Pretty good Ciniplex overall. Can't say I enjoyed the recliner seats though- They're a bit too deep, so not comfortable if you decide to sit upright.
I went to a movie last night on my girlfriend's side of us their was a kid talking to his parent the whole time on my side a kid took his shoes off and sat cross legged smelled horrible honestly your better off just staying home cooking dinner and watching a movie on netflix for a date
Smaller one of the Cineplex Theatres I've been to. Thus, does not have an arcade or even self serve condiments you can put o your hotdogs or sandwiches. When I was there ticket purchases were all done by machine and they had no ticket vendor (maybe phasing them out?). Overall, Oshawa Cineplex was a good experience and was great because it was no where as busy as theatres closer to the Toronto
ordering tickets was easy. theater seating was comfortable. Lots of parking
Obviously we hadn't been to a movie in a long time....as there's a machine in place of a real person to assist you. Thankfully someone came to assist, and informed us that the staff behind the concessions could help us. They really need better signs.
Saw How to Train Your Dragon Lost World Staff is Not knowledgable or Sensitive at all asked why wasnt offered a Combo after buying 3 Large Drinks 2 Large Bags of Popcorn + 6 Bags of Candies could have got cheaper with Combo + free Digital Download didnt notice it as had 5 kids but she could have mentioned when i brought it to her attentuon ask to why she didnt ask Stated Not her problem Nice Eh
Absolutely yessssss! Easy and simple ticket purchases, snacks and food are up to date and good - like the poutines yummm. But the absolute high light when I walked into that dark theatre and sat down....wait...wide plush seats and wait...they reclineeeee. Oh the joy, great seats are everything when you have to sit for an hour or more. Love it! Also there is preselecting seats so that's great for planning.
This location has raised their prices multiple times, there is no longer people working at the ticket booth forcing you to purchase online (which is ok for most but what about the seniors). And the WORST thing about this location is the advertisements. If I wasn't paying to see the movie it would be different. However at today's showing the movie was supposed to start at 7:30. The commercials and trailers started....the movie tarted at 8:00. Ok it included a 5min Simpsons quickie but that is 25 mins of advertising after the movie was supposed to start. That is absolutely ridiculous!
I had to pay 4.19 $ for the smallest drink i’v ever seen at mcdonalds you can get a large drink for like 2 bucks bring your own food and drinks dont buy anything there!!!
Love that I can pick my own seats. I don't have to show up early and wait around.... all movies theaters show too many commercials though. I love previews, hate commercials.
Always a great theatre. Just wish the consessions weren't so expensive. 3 small popcorn and 3 small drinks $39.15
Chairs are extremely comfortable and can recline. However, the theatre itself was not exactly clean. You could see garbage and empty wrappers as soon as you started to recline the seats.
Last visit very disappointing. You buy tickets online and no indication where you get tickets when you get into cinema. Box office no longer has people working only machines. Lines way too long @ concession with only 3 people serving. Staff only standing around talking in a group
Need vaccine passport. Terrible.
Tuesday night reduced admission is great, enabling me to see more movies every year, and earn more Scene points for free movies. Only 145 points to go to my next free movie.
We are two deaf people who came to see jigsaw today. Cineplex has a wonderful device which displays closed captioning for the hard of hearing or deaf. The first 10 minutes of the movie was the very helpful staff and I trying to get it to work. We almost walked out, but luckily the devices started working. We ended up staying to watch the movie,(as a big saw fan... i have to saw it was horrible. I was pretty disappointed in the movie) and brought the captioning devices back to the manager after the movie was over. The manager was so kind, helpful, and courteous to our needs and even gave us two tickets to come back and watch a movie another time. I want to thank all of the staff that went the extra mile to help us enjoy a really bad movie. Even though the movie was horrible, the amazing service we received today will be positively talked about for years to come!
They have new rules that could change, you have to wear your mask all the time and no food or drink allowed
Love the recliner seats but movies are.super expensive these days
My grandkids love this Cinema, especially the seating part of it, they can relax eat their Pop corn drink their beverages without spilling them, and they certainly enjoy the movies. Most of all the young people who sells are always very tidy and polite, which helps. Thanks guys.
The movies currently are not bad but they have obviously raised the price back to their original ticket price yet procedures are not always done well. Contacted surfaces were not always wiped down but overall not too bad of an experience
It is well maintained. The staff are friendly and professional. I love the reclining chairs which they offer in their theaters.
Great location went to see birds of prey in ultra AVX, it was one of the nicer theatres I have been to as all of the seats are leather power recliners. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend checking out this location.
Downfalls is now you gotta book your seats ahead and didn't know that had to accept the front row ask for help cause I was new to it few times sad to see took alot of young people jobs away from new set up the seats are good but would have been better if I knew to book your seat ahead I see why people don't go rather watch it at home prices are expensive but all said Avengers was good movie
Labor reductions makes for poor service, longer lines, less cleaning, etc. The Movies themselves are fine and the upgrades in seating a nice change.
Disgusting. Fedup with the adds movie time was 9.30pm and we were sitting their watching advertisements till 10pm. BAKWAS!!!!
Way over priced for popcorn and drinks. It's no surprise people don't go to the theatre like we used to. $110.00 for two adults and two kids. Tickets, popcorn, drinks...thats it. I didn't include the $20 we dropped in the arcade...lol.
Good theatre but they took out the staff at the front leaving only touchscreen terminals. The popcorn is cold when you buy it, but the seats are okay and the screens a good size. I prefer the nearby Landmark cinema but this one is closer.
As we are dealing with covid, cineplex has taken a lot of precautions to help us. The seats have also been upgraded.
Great theater! Always love going here. Even thou the prices of food are a little expensive, the Pop corn and pop is always good. Big theater with lots of parking and always clean. Highly recommended. Will always come back.
Clean. Spacious. Fun for kids. Ample parking. Comfortable seating. Helpful staff. Recommend.
The staff here is very helpful and friendly. I accidentally ordered tickets to the wrong cinema and they refunded the cost on the spot, as well as offering me another show they were running here. Very clean, comfy seats. Will always be a repeat customer here
I was disappointed to get to our seats and find popcorn All over the chairs. The seats were all recliners and very comfortable but seems to be a lot less staff there. I didn't like that I had to clean all our 4 seats before being able to sit down.
Reclining seats made it so much better
Staff if friendly, food is ok. Popcorn was stale and pulled pork poutine was over cooked and all fat only one time, I haven't had any issues after that though
Haven't been there in about 2 years as we go to a different cinema usually that has a bit more to offer in pricing. None the less, the service was good. Popcorn was fresh. The upgrades to the seating and sound has delicately improved! I think to compete with other cinemas, they need to have better specials and more frequent ones.
Clean and comfortable. A good movie experience.
Good sized multiplex theatre. Screens are quite large. Lots of variety for all ages. It has an arcade, food concessions, party rooms and an attached restaurant all with underground parking. It is also conveniently located in the heart of downtown close to restaurants, bars and shopping. Fun night out for the whole family!
Seats r comfortable but the volume level of the movie was way too loud!! Needs to b turn down a couple decibels!!
We used scene it points and didn't give us the option of any seats. Our seats were on the side up front and there was alot of open spaces.
This had to be the worst movie theatre popcorn I have ever had. It was stale and full of unpopped kernels. And this was at 1230pm, not a late show. The movie theatre itself is amazing, and I love the reclining chairs. Just need to step up your concession game!
Bought a gift card over a month ago was asked if we wished to have the premium upgraded recliner seats declined this option as I prefer to sit in the back row went to attend a movie this evening only to find out all theatres are recliners and you have to book in advance neither of these options were explained at time of purchase and now all shows are sold out except for the horrible front row manager was completely useless definitely will not spend money here again and once the gift card has been used will drive to Whitby to see movies at Landmark Cinema in the future would give Cineplex Oshawa a zero star rating if it was possible
Good location, great seats and clean space. Buy your tickets in advanced. They have replaced their ticket sales staff with machines...so don't bring cash.
Awesome experience. All processes are so simple fast and easy. Even with covid screening and verifying tickets it takes 2 min to get in.
Although upgraded from my last visit they still don't have self serve pop machines, the snack deals are more expensive than Landmark. Also when reclining in your recliner chair the railing blocks the view of the bottom of the screen and there is no walking room to pass when others are reclined.
Clean and comfortable chairs. Mad that they dont have seasoning for the popcorn anymore.
Really like this place. All the seats are leather recliners, and try to reserve and buy your ticket a couple days in advance. Tons of parking. Nearly no wait the past 3 times for concessions.
The movie going experience was really good. It was clean, parts of the building looked newly renovated, and had a variety of movies playing. The theatre that showed our movie had the recliner seats, which was nice, until you tried to recline. There is a hand rail that blocks part of the screen as you recline, so the seats might as well not recline at all.
Great theatre, and good customer service
Seats really nice. Snacks very expensive. A movie and a FEW snacks for 4 almost $100.00 wow. Can't do that Very often. Still, it was a nice outing.
Cineplex: 100% terrible! I should be walking on marble flooring, have Crystal overhead lighting, COMFORTABLE lazy chairs with foot rests... You know, the works! FOR THE PATHETIC royal prices I'm paying. Can't wait for the day a competitive theatre takes over that has REASONABLE pricing and STEAL EVERY ONE of Cineplex's customers running Cineplex into the ground! That would put a smile on my face :-D
Pricing is crazy on condiments. To enter the building they need a better process to keep traffic flowing while covid screening.
Be weary of "local guide" reviews. They are very misleading, they appear as if a robot writes them, and they never tell the black and white truth. This cineplex isn't that great. The theatre itself is nice, the screens, the seats are nice (but become uncomfortable after 1+ hours). That's not the problem. It's everything else that sinks the experience. No employee's selling tickets anymore, which is fine, except the machines have issues ; Like with using free passes, scene points ect. The food was fairly awful, even by theatre standards. We had nachos and cheese, the nachos were rock solid and stale, and the cheese was disgusting and tasted like the smell of an attic. The cheese was cold and in a pre made sealed container???? .. nasty stuff. The drinks were so expensive for the larges (which are small sizes at most places) and no refills for anything. Also the menus to order from are silly looking. Overall an unsatisfying experience, to some fairly easily satisfied connoisseurs.
Super nice theater with ample parking. They serve alcohol inside the theater and the prices are reasonable. Their popcorn combos are worth it especially their Combo 1 which includes a digital movie rental. Their hot dogs are also very good. Great selection of candy and of course a Frozen Yogurt machine should you have the sudden urge or craving.
Nice reclining seats buying tickets can be a little confusing if your using scene points better signage would b helpful fortunately the staff came to my aid which where very helpful
All safety protocols are in place and the seating is great.
Easy access. Clean facility. Seats positioned respecting space between patrons. Show was good too????
Love the online ticketing and avoiding the lines. I am glad we can reserve seats now instead of going early like last time. The reclining seats are comfortable too
Just watched Little Women. Excellent! Sat in row AA....awful!!!! Do not buy tickets for this row! Why they even sell these seats is beyond me. And I was just about frozen by the time the movie was over....so cold in the theater.
Nice cinema. Kind service. Comfortable seats. Good image and sound. It's a little hot, don't even need a sweater. It could be a little more punctual. I did like it.
I do not like this theater. My wife and I went to see a movie here on Saturday night. There was a line at the concession stand. No problem until I realized that half the people were there to buy movie tickets. Once we got there i tried to order a larger drink with my combo and was told there was no substitutions and no choice with the candy you got. We are going to landmark from now on.
Popcorn seems to taste sweet at first with a salty aftertaste. Facility is great only popcorn needs a lot of work.
Ordered snacks thru skip the dishes app. Received stale nacho chips and missing white cheese powder for my popcorn that I paid for. Very disappointed in this experience.
The seating at this location are the recliners and they are very nice and spacious. Would definitely return, most def!!
Amazing price (Tuesday $8.99 regular or 3D) and reclining seats. I'll choose this spot anytime when seeing a movie.
Great movie theater, always clean when I've been, great screens and audio, friendly staff and Covid regulations are handled professionally
I very much enjoying come here for movies. The seating is super comfortable with all the movies I’ve seen thus far being halls with recliner seats. Also love that they have a small Starbucks there as coffee is always good to have!
I had bought my ticket online walked in the front door and my phone died. The lady working the front desk helped me to retrieve my ticket. We went to an Imax theater which was my first time in a Cineplex the whole experience was great. The seats are much nicer more leg room and the sound is a lot more intense
Get your workers vaccinated. Or at least put them into a session where they understand and learn the importance of getting vaccinated. I’m here listening to people who work here with no vaccinations and never wanting to get one. Putting everyone at risk.
It's always a good time when I go to this theater and the staff are really great but when my friends and I are trying to find a movie to go see they are never playing any of the movies listed on the cineplex website. All the movies recently are just bad and they wont play Jojo Rabbit, Doctor Sleep or Maleficent 2. You would have to go to Ajax or Toronto to see half of the movies youd want to see unless you are going to see an animated movie or Last Christmas. Just disappointed that anytime I want to go see a movie they never have it playing at that theater, I'm suprised they even have joker playing there. Next time I'm deciding what theater I want to try to go see a movie at im probably going to go to landmark in whitby because at least they play all the movies they list.
Love this place wife and I had a wonderful night out the recliner seats was sooo comfortable everyone should try it at least onence.
This cineplex is totally different than the cineolex I grew up going to. The seats are new leather with much more space and the ability to recline almost all the way back. Now there are automated ticket services at the front so there is not much interaction with employees unless going to the food concession. I do really like the new services and comfortable seating, but I would like more customer service.
