This Movie Theater is included in the category of Movie theater.
This theatre has always offered incredible prices. Usually about 60% the cost of visiting a Cineplex, Landmark etc. Some may find the theatres and facilities a little out of date, but I think it's charming and nostalgic. Support your downtown! Again, can't beat the ticket price.
I might be a little bias as I love small town movie theatres. Staff are quick and friendly, seats, ilses and bathrooms are always clean, and things are reasonably priced.
This is a small theatre with 3 screens 2 are very small but the overall movie experience is good... The washrooms and theaters are clean and the concession stand offers hit fresh popcorn beverages and candy. Movies change often enough.
We always enjoy going to the century theatre. We live in Little Britain. We either have to go to Peterborough or Durham. It is So much closer to home in Lindsay. It's a lovely quaint theatre that has a small town feel to it and really has character.
Small and Cheap
Its a perfect venue if your into the small town vibes. It doesn’t have fancy seats with arse-warmers and theres no ability for Karen to order a glass of wine to her seat so she can wash down her xanax. Its simply old school movie-house fun, sticky floors included. A no holding back 5/5 establishment.
I love going to this theater as they also have a museum attached to it
Has a decent selection for a small theatre and the screen is a good side and the seats are alright could be better though
The staff is always friendly from the minute you walk inside, and as your leaving. I love coming to this place the nostalgia of an older setting brings back so much memories of my childhood, and it will keep you wanting more.
One of a kind theatre! So glad we chose it on our trip to Lindsay. We were debating between the cineplex in Peterborough or the Century Theatre. We decided on this small town oldie to watch Goosebumps 2 and couldn’t have been more happy! It’s such a gem. You seem to step back in time when you walk in the door. The 70’s era is alive and well here with bright upbeat colours, old displays, and vintage-looking advertisements. It’s clean, has comfortable seating, and the movie volume doesn’t deafen you. The staff is also friendly and snacks are reasonably priced. We cannot wait to go back!
I'm biased, I love the theatre here in Lindsay, it's old school and small and everything screams small town, and I .. freaking... love it. Giant Movie Plazas can kiss my ...
$7 for small popcorn..no salt and just some kind of flavorless oil! When I complained a young girl was rude and unconcerned...
cute old school style theatre. video quality is up to standard. Only complaint is the theatres are smaller and fill up quicker and craning your neck to see
I absolutely adore this theatre! It's OUR Theatre -- those of us that call Lindsay home! That we are so VERY fortunate to have such a quaint Theatre that runs ALL New Releases, is a GREAT blessing! Do not go expecting a Cineplex or a Landmark, but GO and enjoy and support our local community! Thank you Century Theatre -- we LOVE you!!
Great place. Nice staff, great prices. ????????
Just enjoyed a movie in an empty theater ????I noticed someone wiping down the doors during the movie, good to know that even with low capacity they're being safe. Every other isle is blocked off, you must sit 3 seats or more away from others. Not sure if it's because of the LEX or Covid....but either way I'd suggest going to see a movie now! The place is empty. Also gonna add the theater hasn't changed since I was a kid, good nostalgia feel!
Always a pleasure to go to this theatre. Old school feel with fresh and updated facilities. Bathrooms could use an update soon.
Wonderful costumer service! Friendly staff who always find time to chat and make your experience 10/10! Release dates are current with the "big name theaters" while providing affordable tickets (great for families or spontaneous outings). small theater keeps it cozy and personal making Century Theater the hotspot of Lindsay for anyone in the community.
Always friendly, fair prices and very clean
I love taking my kids to see newly released movies ????, staff has always been respectful to me an my family and the establishment is well kept
Been seeing every blockbuster since moving to the Kawarthas since 96. Love the staff. So accommodating and kind. Clean washrooms and seats. I miss HER. HOPE IT OPENS SOON!!
This theater is great! So quaint and cute. I love the old style. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and the snacks are average for a theater (small popcorn was $5.00, medium popcorn was $7.00, large popcorn was $8.00, there are snacks/drinks to be purchased and a combo). This place is definitely dated and in need of renos, especially to the ceiling. However, for a little town like Lindsay, it's cute and a great addition to the downtown!
OUR ABSOLUTELY FANTASTICAL SMALL TOWN QUAINTLY OLDE MOVIE HOUSE On a different site I recently read a bad review of our old movie house by some cretinous Knobs from Snobville who say we should have a new one. Hells Bells The Century was just completely recently redone it can't be more than twenty years ago and i was terribly upset then to see our gigantic olde one room enormous screen Theatre Style theater chopped up into three but i soon got over that. They kept the big screen for the blockbusters and made two good sized smaller ones on either side. So... we had a choice of what to see. WOW. Anyway i have sat in what i believe i have earned the right to call OUR movie house since around 1960. Come to think on it it was a lot older feeling then that it is right now... Hmm... Briefly... it has a small town quaintly feel with some appropriate updates and bookended by our still runnin you betcha Drive-In just on the outskirts of our fair Kawartha Lakes Lindsay metropolis with the big broad convenient angle parking main street and all our great looking shops and movie house with the lovely looking humane brand of folks who apparently still manage to make a living at half the price of the boobtube sized miniscreens ingrates like where the ones who wrote that callous review squeeze their fat bulging walleted butts into in the somewhere hopefully and forever far far away from this and ours and... Yours Truly
Cozy comfortable small town theatre. Great selection of up to date new movies
We're very lucky to have a theatre like this one in town. Seats are comfortable, staff is very friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable.
Decent place for the price of admission. It's certainly not a Silvercity... Nice, old building atmosphere.
The Mule movie was great. Recommended. Love Clint Eastwood movies. Ordered slightly buttered popcorn with pop. Loved it!!
This is hands-down the best theater in Lindsay with an old school feel and charm bring the kids to have a lot of fun it's fantastic trust me
This place is legitimately a destination for me when a movie comes out I care about. There is a joy to seeing things here. A purity of experience that slams me right back to being a kid and gaping open mouthed at magic on a screen. Their popcorn is ridiculously fresh and tasty too. The pricing is super fair too and you know it's going into the pockets of the people serving you and keeping that joy of movies alive. Check this place out, seriously.
This was a great theatre. I remember going here as a kid, and love to bring my two boys here. I was surprised today when we went to see Wreck it Ralph breaks the internet at the matinee when. my youngest son dropped his popcorn. I went to get him some more, but the lady behind the counter at the concession stand snapped at me that the stand closed at 3:00 and I couldn't get anything. She was correct, it was 3:05, so I will just buy my boys concessions at a different stand next time. Since that is the only one at this theatre, I guess we will be watching our movies elsewhere. too bad really.
This place is a Lindsay treasure. It makes me feel very nostalgic and I love it. It’s been around forever, and never fails make me happy. It’s a good movie theatre for a simple movie theatre experience. I love it and I’ll be happy to go back soon!
I absolutely love the experience at Century Cinema in Lindsay. The popcorn is delicious, the people who work there are super nice. And while it's the older style theatre, I prefer it to the giant Cineplex model that's everywhere else. Since moving to the area a few years ago we have seen more movies at an actual theatre than ever before. Oh and not to mention the super reasonable prices for tickets and concessions. Support the local theatre - it's an important staple in the Lindsay community.
I love how they have very few previews that dont waste your time. Popcorns always good and the staff is friendly.
Comfortable seats. Tasty treats. Great customer service.
Love the popcorn, staff one of our favorite places????
Really cool place to visit. The old theatre style was cool and comfortable. Really enjoyed it.
The theatre may be small and the sound may not rumble your seat but it is a great theatre with a great selection of movies. Prices are great for tickets and food (compared to other theatres). Not only that but when living in Toronto you didn’t want to eat Cineplex’s popcorn but the Lindsay theatres popcorn is not only far superior, it’s cheaper. Top it off with cleanliness and friendly staff and it’s a great day or night out. During the summer you can keep the kiddies busy with weekday $2 older run movies shown in the morning. Great for bored kids especially on a rainy day.
Small and old fashioned. A trip down memory lane to movie theatres of 50 years ago. Friendly staff. 3 screens but the one I was in was the smallest.
Movie theater has gotten better over the years, but I can't believe how rude the woman who works there was tonight, not only to us but also to her coworkers. She turned away part of our group saying there weren't any seats, when we found plenty. So disappointing.
Nice theatre. Great food prices
Great little local theatre. The same new releases as other theatres at a fraction of the price. It has a friendly, courteous staff in a cute little ticket wicket at the front and a nice concession stand in the front lobby.
I love this place!! Small, clean and very intimate! Great movies at great prices!
I like this theatre. Nothing fancy, but it has a cool 80's vibe. The screen is good and the seats are comfortable.
Affordable local entertainment. ...great service. ...cheaper snacks
Quant theaters with 3 movie screens one is normal size the other 2 small... its clean and the seats are okay... they always play the up to date movies but there are limited show times... the snack bar in the lobby alwas has fresh popcorn.
Pretty decent place to catch a movie. As long as it's on the main screen. Price is right.
Great for a night out. I'd give 5 stars but I find the snack bar closes too soon.
I have been living here for two years and recently visited this gem. Its historic and that's what my historian self like about it. My sister and I visited with our girls to watch maleficent. The movie was 10/10 and and the service was awesome. Cheaper popcorn and ticket price. We will be visiting again to watch Frozen 2. I am no more driving to Peterborough, Oshawa, Pickering or Scarborough.
Great customer service box office receptionist was so helpful and very friendly thank you for accommodating us!
Not a bad little older theatre. Went to a 2pm Matinée, $6ea. Got a $5 kids combo, which included a small popcorn, candy + a small drink. The screen needs to be cleaned/wiped down. Otherwise I will go back again. Good venue for Families.
I've been going to this movie theatre since I was a kid and it's just continued to get better throughout the years.
Friendly staff and clean atmosphere
Tickets and food are cheap. It's no Cineplex but it's nice inside. The sound is good the employees are nice and it's never crowded.
Doesn't have all the bells and whistles but its reasonably priced and no line up. Nice small town atmosphere. I like it.
Good prices, especially the matinees, good snacks, very friendly staff and always has the latest movies
Decent theater not to fancy but also not to crowded. Pretty clean and decent. I'm going again
Enjoyed going here for decades with always the same awesome customer service
Enjoyed the experience. Small theatre and cozy ambiance.
The theater it's self is nice, the staff that were there that night, not so much, they were being really rude when I asked for a movie ticket, I was going to see a movie that was pg13. ( I was 14 at the time) they told me that I was not old enough to see the movie, and told me to show them my ID, which I didn't have at the time, they then proceeded to ask me personal questions like were I go to school, where I lived, and when I told them where I went to school they responded rudely with " well you can't be 14 if your not in high school" It was unacceptable, they then mockingly recommended some little kid movies to me. Very rude.
Staff are amazing.I live the way they make my client and myself feel at home.Besides she has awesome eye makeup.lol
I used the handicap facilities without any problems, comfortable, on time with movies.
The best movie theatre even staff were nice
Absolute lovely cinema. Staff so nice. Comfortable seats. Toilets spotless. I cannot find 1 fault with here. Even value for money.I live in Ireland
Good movie theater
A great place to watch a movie, clean, good price, and friendly staff. Definitely a nice evening out !
Very nice and quaint place. Friendly staff and decently priced.
Good for a small place. Lots of talking patrons. Watch out for kids.
My wife and l always go to this cinema usually with our grandchildren. Very friendly staff and we like the cinema size. Takes you back some years.
Friendly staff, nice new screens, usually not too busy even on weekends and Tuesdays...parking can be somewhat challenging if you want to be close but you can leave the theatres down by the screens and come out right behind the theatre, near Valumart
can't wait to come again. we love bringing the kids to this theater. thank you Sheila (management) for your help and also staff you guys are awesome . see you again soon. from the Rivera family.
