Came for the dinner and comedy show only to wait in line for almost an hour outside to find out that my self and many many other angry customers were being turned away because we bought tickets for this event but also were supposed to go online to book your seat separate. Talked to a number of people who drove in from Toronto and and now had to leave with out dinner or a show. This would have been far less annoying if they had just sent some staff outside to tell people that there was no point to stand in line for an hour outside in the cold. Horrible experience, will not come back for another show at this venue

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE LAC! Our event was marketed, advertised, and we had an AGREEMENT for a date. LAC staff booked an event that came in AFTER our request and booked it over our event! Absolutely outrageous, dishonourable and unreliable.

About a week ago my school tried booking this location. We sent representatives to met with the rep from LAC, they toured the venue and then the next day we contacted the venue and was told that day was ours. The rep said he would forward the contract on Monday but when we received the email it was a cancellation message say ing the date we booked was no longer available and was already booked. we spent alot of money on branding and promotion and tickets, Very unprofessional, and unreliable. Do not attempt booking with them.

I normally don’t give bad reviews, but to give this company constructive criticism. I attended tonight’s dinner and comedy show with my girlfriend through a Groupon deal (2 people for $75) The dinner supposed to start at 7:30pm but they started serving food at 8:30ish...you can see other people starting to complain when dinner is going to be serve. The food described on the Groupon deal is not what we got tonight. It is laid out buffet style with servers...food served are potatoes, rice, mixed (overcooked) veggies, steak (no gravy, no chicken nor pork and no grilled pineapple). I overheard the server explaining to one of the guest why there isn’t a grilled pineapple on the table. The reason was that it’s delivered unripe so they aren’t able to cook it. I’m no cooking expert by any means, but as far as I know they normally deliver pineapples unripe so as to preserve its freshness days before it’ll be served. So I thought the dessert would be the redeeming part of the dinner but all we had was these tiny macaroons. Also they ran out of food!!! Not worth $75! I’m very disappointed. Also, got a pushed back when I asked for a glass of water saying that they only serve bottled water and I have to pay $2 for it. I kindly reminded the server that there’s a law in regards to serving tap water, he’s excuse was that he doesn’t want other people start asking for water and gave me a glass of water afterwards and thanked him. My girlfriend was refused tap water as well when she asked the bar and was given a cup and instructed to get water from the washroom herself! Terrible customer service! After dinner was the comedy show, I have nothing bad to say about the comedian’s performance, he entertained the crowd well. The dinner could’ve been more thought out and properly proportioned for the crowd that needs to be served. I would like to get my money back and unfortunately won’t recommend this place.

I went there twice for a Art Gallery of Hamilton movie screening event. I love the general atmosphere, the cleanliness and the super nice staff. There is a small cafe that serves wine, beer, coffee and popcorn. My only complaint was the popcorn was stale. The movie theatre itself was fantastic and the seats very comfy. I'd definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone who's in love with movies and the unique experience of discovering new artistic gems of the seventh art.

The food was definitely substandard. The Italian pasta was so overcooked that it was a solid mass. It was cold and did not look as good as it sounded on the menu. The halal chicken was plain boiled chicken. Dry and flavorless. The fresh baked cookies were hard and tough/ chewy but not in a good way. Not a place I would recommend for a meal.

Went there for a "Traditional Brazilian steakhouse" experience and comedy show, well, the comedy was the lack of food and not Brazilian at all (I'm from Brazil...) The description said 3 course meal, with pork, chicken and steak. Only steak available and a portion smaller than a junior mcburguer... Huge lines , cold food, overpriced drinks. The comedy show saved the night, very good funny.

Surprisingly spacious for such a neatly tucked away venue, the LAC definitely provides a refined and luxurious atmosphere to any event. The massive windows along King St. give a magical feel when going up an down stairs, or socializing outside the theatre. The theatre has a classical look that still feels modern. The seats are fairly comfortable. Acoustics are professionally managed for live and a/v presentations. While the main rooms are well kept, a few hallways and restrooms need some attention and repairs. Although, considering large events on pause, the staff members do a great job keeping up with the venue. This would be a great choice for receptions, corporate presentations, and medium sized gatherings in need of stage or ballroom space.

Bohemian Steakhouse and Comedy Show was held here as a Wagjag deal... I could not have been more disappointed in an event. It started with the line outside and around the corner into the parking garage. I should have gotten an idea at that point that there was issues but being naive I just thought it was going to be an amazing evening and a full house. Little could I have known that those that hadn't chosen a menu were the fortunate ones as they got to leave and would be refunded! When we finaly got into the building ( by this time it is 8:10 and we've been standing for over an hour thinking our dinner that was to be served at 7:30 is going to cold) and after all the screaming (from others) we finally were given tickets to go down stairs where we would then have to search out and hope to find 2 seats together!. So much for the reserved seating that was sent in the emails!! Next, we get to go into a line (no table service as anticipated) to get our meal. When it came to the salad there was lettuce left and no salad dressing to go with the lettuce. There was evidence of tomatoes that were long gone. When advising staff of the issue no response was given. I do very little in the way of carbs so did not have rice and wouldn't have had potatoes accept for the fact the salad was lettuce! So, I had 2 potatoes on my plate and some mixed vegetables. Next came the so called steak.... I believe between my husband and I we may have had 6 oz. of meat if we were lucky!!! We had a spoon in our silverware package so we figured there was something yet to come. Luckily we weren't disappointed as the dessert was good. When I have a meal I expect there to be coffee and tea available but sadly that wasn't available either. We were far too tired, hungry and upset by this point to enjoy the comedy show. What I would have given for something other then alcohol and pop to drink.

Went for a dinner and a show and was turned away. Saying my Groupon wasn't valid. Andrew has refused to return my money and I was not the only couple that couldn't get in. This all took place Nov.16, 20190 very disappointed in LAC Hamilton on how they are handling all of this. If anyone else has had an issue please replay to my post I am taking this lack of care to someone who will care about where the money had gone.

Don’t let them fool you. They smile at you but once you turn around they stab you in the back. Tried to book an event there, confirmed the date but just before receiving the contract, I was told the date was already taken??!? Nobody will book here ever again.

Spent money advertising the event because they had confirmed the date with us and told us it was available but they totally screwed us over. Very unprofessional and unorganized. Went there to see 'Tulipana" a series of film sponsored by the AGH 'Art Gallery of Hamilton'. The afternoon was very enjoyable. The film was spectacular. The place is very clean, with lots of comfy chairs for older crowd to sit while waiting. The theatre was newly renovated. The staff was pleasant and courteous.

Went to the AGH film festival to a very welcoming staff. The bar man was great. Overall pleasant, classy experience. I never rented out a venue which is the justification for not giving them the final star as i can't attest to how they deal with clients.

Do not book your wedding here! Let me save you time, hassle and a lot of money (for nothing). From the beginning of our journey with the Lincoln Alexander Centre it was nothing but an unorganized, at times downright deceitful, mess. We were double-booked after paying our deposit and called liars until we proved, with our copy, the error was theirs. We were lied to for the reason of the double-booking by being told it was a theater event (not a wedding for another couple, which it was). We were deceived about the package and what we would be receiving. Shown pictures of beautiful centerpieces and then told we had one, very ugly choice. Enter Covid-19. We rescheduled our wedding (because we had to) and then with covid continuing they offered us an outdoor venue (which meant we would have to pay more per person because covid restrictions said we couldn't have our original guest list... which wasn't our fault). We continued our planning - paid deposits on all vendors and then were told we couldn't have it there. At that time we decided to have a small ceremony in the backyard and started our fight with Arya at the Lincoln Alexander Centre. They refused to give us back our deposit of $2700 even after telling us they couldn't give us the event we were promised. The problem here is, companies were given government grants to cover their costs during covid, so this place was capitalizing on a tragedy and adding more stress to a couple who had the worst pre-wedding year imaginable! A deposit is to hold the spot incase we back out, just taking the money and saying "tough" that's called robbery. Book elsewhere, please learn from our mistake! Their larceny is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Beautiful theatre, very well kept. Staff were helpful and accommodating, even lent me a charger when my phone died. It was a fantastic place to hold our final show and I would definitely recommend this location to other theatre productions and events!!

Awful management. Participated in an event there and it was a disaster due to both the event planner and the facility. Was promised a refund for my event from the facility on June 1 2017... Never received it (its now April 19, 2018), nor have any other vendors. I was actually told that if I went to the media, social media, or BBB that I would not receive my refund (blackmail). Venue was not set up when we arrived to setup, no staff on hand, no cleaning done. When asked to speak with GM, he emailed and after back and forth I was promised a refund. Obviously his word means nothing. Disappointing since the downtown core needs a good venue, but I would never recommend it to anyone. I was an event planner for years and worked for multiple venues and would never treat my clientele so poorly.

Our student council tried to book an event at this location, the person that we were talking to said that we were all good to go and the date that we chose was ours for sure. A few days later, he called us back to tell us that it was booked and completely threw us under the bus, after we had already spent money advertising the event to the school. We had to reprint all of our posters because of this. I guess the theater is pretty cool though . . . Never book an event with these guys, absolute doodoo experience ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) >:(

Negotiations were in bad faith as terms like "split the proceeds" trickily became an 80/20 'split' in favor of the venue. At my event the side-stage lighting was so dark it was dangerous for the performers. Patron's complained the drinks were watered down. I got no help to post info to their website.

I paid $100 for a vendors booth at the so called "Wine and Dine women's expo" we were promised a large venue with a fashion show, wine and food tasting. Instead it was 12 vendors in a dingy basement, loud music, with about 20 people showing up. We were told there would be refunds but no response to my emails. I feel as though they made fraudulent claims to make us fork over a large amount of money for nothing.

The Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion and McMaster's Equity and Inclusion Office recently held a Disability Justice "UnConference" at the LAC and we had a truly great experience with the venue, owner and staff. Arya was more than helpful with negotiating our contract, allowing us to bring in outside caterers for lunch (while also using his for breakfast - really great food btw!), opening early and closing late for our set-up, and ensuring to the best of his ability the accessibility of our event. He and his staff frequently asked us during the event what support we might need throughout the day, and was in excellent communication during the weeks leading up to the event. Additionally, the venue is beautiful and Arya and his team work hard to ensure that the rooms are set-up to your needs and requests. Thanks again for all the assistance Arya and LAC staff!

I’m so ashamed and disappointed. They completely threw us under the bus when we tried to book an event. They honestly flopped. I would highly recommend using Hamilton Convention Centre if you’re looking to book an event, they are much more reliable.

Was there for a dinner/comedy show- absolutely awful. The food was not as advertised and subpar, the condition of the facility was not the greatest; the bathrooms in the dining area were not wheelchair accessible and dirty, something very problematic for my elderly disabled mother and overall horrible. Will never go back.
