LOVE when we get to staff at the River Run Centre in Guelph. This is definitely an under utilized event space. The facility is perfect and the staff are excellent to work with. All the windows make for a perfect backdrop for any event. If you want a more dramatic look, their smaller hall is perfect. You can bring in your favourite caterer, and the River Run Centre runs the bar. There is no onsite parking, but there is the parkade across the street at the Sleeman Centre.

Fairly intimate venue, every seat has a great view of the stage. Heads and hats in front of you don't seem to be an issue. A little more padding in the seats would be a welcome improvement. Sound quality will depend on the crew for the particular performance but no obvious issues with the room that I was able to hear.

Went to the Motown concert last night and was again impressed with how beautiful this theatre is. The large hall, anyway, and the huge lobby/bar area... parking can be a problem, however. (See below). And compared to some huge theatres in Toronto, even the cheap seats are close enough to the stage. You do not need binoculars. Also good accoustics and efficient volunteer staff. The only issue is parking. There is not much in the area except for the Sleeman Centre arena across the street. That was ideal last night because hockey season was already over. When there is some major event at the Sleeman Centre, however, their parking lot is often jam packed full. Hint: Do a google search, Sleeman Centre and a date... you should then find out whether there is a major event at the arena on the day you plan to be at Riverrun. If yes, then you might want to take a taxi to the theatre to avoid parking nightmares.

Great theatre. Parking can be an issue as the east and west parking garages across the street have limited spaces. East parkade can only be used for venue parking after 5pm. West parkade is then generally full. Arrive early to sort out the parking. Very limited street parking as well. Overall a nice theatre. Concession available inside. Not a lot of restrooms. Seats inside are comfy. Every seat is a good seat.

Thank you to the kind manager and volunteers for a wonderful evening. My 80 year old mother recently had major surgery for cancer. Despite having little strength, she was determined to attend a performance. She loved every minute. The performance was wonderful--she laughed, she sang, she tapped her toes. Mom felt better than she had since the surgery! She is already planning her next visit. Shopping the gift shop during intermission led to the purchase of a Christmas gift. Thank you to the volunteers whose kindness and big smiles made the visit extra special.

Well staffed with welcoming, helpful people and the facility's layout is overall user friendly. The only drawbacks are the lack of leg room for people exceeding 5'4"; a bottleneck created by the entrance doors' dogleg meeting with the box office doors and the coat check area just behind the secondary entrance to the main hall; and the lack of adequate sound baffling in the main hall foyer. That said, I have enjoyed every performance I have attended here.

This was a very good venue. The seats were comfortable but not much leg room. It was difficult for people to get past when you were seated. The play, Mamma Mia, was very good. The location is very beautiful along side the river. The refreshment booth/stand only takes cash so come prepared.

Decent all around facility, the atrium with all its windows brought lots of light into the consession area. Biggest complaint was that we couldn't bring drinks or food into the theater- only water. Parking garage available across the street was very convenient and only cost $5 for a Sunday Matinee

Great acoustics! Love this place, only downside is no drinks in the theatre, so not the greatest venue for a rock concert.

Saw the Just For Laughs road show. Great evening out. The venue is very nice. No parking on site, you can park across the street at the Sleeman centre for $5 (Event parking evening price).

No parking had to hunt as the hockey game was on as well. Too expensive for the mediocre performance

Nice venue. Saw Sons of Serendip here and our seats were awesome. Great choice for a concert where you can see the artists without binoculars.

Show was fantastic, lighting etc was very good and the venue was overall great. The beer at the intermission was warm , flat , expensive and undrinkable. How the hell could you let that happen!
