This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
We saw "Loving Vincent" on a Saturday in December. The movie was incredible, made even more so by the beauty of the theatre itself. We stayed after the credits to take pictures of the auditorium. Please contribute to the restoration project, we have so few of these treasures left.
100% go here. Something for everyone
On it's own Avengers Endgame is one of the greatest comic book movies ever made but, with the added bonus of a Q&A period after the movie with Jim Starlin the creator of Thanos it was truly an extraordinary event.
Haven't been there since I was 12 brought back great memories. Great theater love the old interior. Looked well taken care of and the screen was wonderful to see bohemian rhapsody on
Cool but expensive, good sound.
First time there as we're new in town. Great old time theater and a perfect venue to see Loving Vincent. Santa gave us free passes in our stockings. We'll be back soon.
A majestic piece of 716 history that I am proud to support as often as I can.
Beautiful theatre and shows the best films.
This is a great theater from my childhood. Upgraded and restored
A wonderful renovated ornate gem of a movie house, with the best popcorn and high on charm. Playing the best in indies as well as the best of the indi feeling major films.
Beautiful Auditorium, great audio. Snacks are insanely great. Screen could be bigger, it doesn't look like it fills the stage.
Our visit was great and "A Quiet Place II" was phenomenal. Love the old school theater experience.
THE GOOD You will never find a room with better charm for viewing a film in. Hands down. THE BAD The sound is improved and comparable to franchise theaters, but lacks clarity in the high to mid ranges causing dialog to be hard to distinguish from time to time. I think with a few adjustments it can be corrected. THE UGLY Parking is very hard on …but the bevy of other businesses that surround the showplace and their liberal attitude about bringing products from such businesses in to enjoy…so I hope walking isn’t a challenge, and if not this will be a WONDERFUL night out.
The North Park Theatre considered "Buffalo's Finest Movie Theatre" is another fine example of Buffalo restoring it's historic buildings. The theatre is about to begin it's final restoration right in time for the centennial in 2020. . The North Park Theatre regularly has screenings of indie, classic, and new blockbuster movies. The theatre is also beginning to host various events and special live screenings of movies with celebrity actors such as Jay Mewes (Clerks) and Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws).
Great gem! So glad they redid everything. The real butter popcorn is so much better than the fake stuff that other theaters have
The only theater that doesn’t have the recliners which I love because I don’t want to pay 20 dollars to take a nap. The theater is absolutely stunning and seeing some older movies on the big screen is always a fun experience!
Great clean place
Gorgeous building, friendly staff. Always a good time.
Love this theater. Amazing save for the neighborhood, and a fantastic restoration. Super great staff and always involved in the community. My favorite place to see a movie!
Being used as a movie theater now from an actual play theater is pretty unique. It's not something from where I'm from.
An amazing theatre to see independent/ foreign/ art films. Sometimes they will play restored and throwback films for certain anniversaries and holidays. The theatre itself is a beautiful, restored old venue. There are also special live events for festivals and concerts.
This place is amazing , it’s look like you go back in time when you go in , the work that they did there of restoration off the place , great and romantic place to go for a movie , it’s not crowded in most of the times I went there but kinda cool to watch a movie with just few people , look for event on there web definitely cool place , also a lot of good restaurants around so you can go for dinner and a movie then for a bar , with no need of moving you car .
Worth going just to see the meticulously restored theatre. Excellent selection of films. Beautiful screen too. I'd give it five stars except sometimes the audio is not clear and crisp.
Great shows, beautiful place. Temperature os somehow always perfect. And, it's definitely a part of the community
They have done a tremendous job renovating the place. The new--really old--lobby is spectacular. Thanks to everyone who the vision that the effort would make such a difference. And the theater is now an anchor for the entire neighborhood. Bully!
I love this grand former Sheas theater. The huge screen and a large stage floor keeps this treasure adaptable. The popcorn is always fresh and delicious.
They have lots of weird independent/foreign films. The theater is beautiful. No reclined seats though, but I'm just spoiled from Regal.
Amazing theatre, went to see a feature film exclusively shown here (which they do frequently) and it was pretty good. Overall 10/10 experiance. Beautiful interior and wonderful sound system as well.
Really fun place to watch new indie movies, very cold inside though !
Our favorite theater ????
coolest theater in WNY! check their showings often, they're always playing great classic and more recent stuff
Love it there! Having a local theatre like this one is great, and I'm always happy to support it!
Great atmosphere, really great old fashioned movie theatre. Highly recommend
Large, old school movie palace with an enormous, clean screen that shows crisp images. The seating is extremely abundant and reasonably comfortable. The walls and ceiling are ornament works of art that have been painstakingly restored. This is easily the best indoor theater in Buffalo. The seats don't recline and there is no parking lot, but who cares. The classic ambiance more than makes up for any Petty shortcomings.
The beauty of this theater.... Breathtaking!!! Completely enjoyed my visit!!
Truly a Buffalo institution! The interior is lovely and there's a definite feeling of seeing something historic and beautiful even as you watch the latest Blockbuster. The seats are surprisingly comfortable.
Absolutely wonderful theater. I was there to see Singing in the Rain. Love that they are showing the classics. Great job!!!
So fun to feel like you went back in time. First time, on my birthday for an interesting movie that was not playing anywhere else
The North Park manages to be both a jaw-droppingly beautiful historic building, and a solid theater! Any movie date night is infinitely improved by going to North Park over regal or AMC.
Beautiful building
So glad I was finally able to visit this theater. So beautiful inside, great seats, really comfortable and the staff was super friendly. Definitely will be back
Very nice went and saw the demon slayer movie it was my first time going there and just truly amazing. From the size of the place to the artwork, detail and the screen for movies just total 10/10 wayyyyyy better then any theatre I've been to
Great theatre. I really wanted to touch the old ceiling and borders. Staff was fine. Concession selection was great.
North Park Theatre brings the classic look and feel of the big screen to life. The architecture is really nice and the staff was very pleasant. Watching the My Hero Academia: Two Heros movie was a blast at this old time theatre. The only 2 issues I have with the theatre was that sound quality was not up to date from the way the sound was playing during the movie and the parking situation in which there is no parking except parking on Hertel, which on a Saturday can be atrocious. Other than that, I highly recommend this place to others.
If you miss that old fashioned theater feel, nothing beats North Park! It's got a grand interior and it's typically cheaper than more contemporary options. Just don't expect any of that reclining seat nonsense they got going on these days. You're here to watch a movie, not take a nap!
Such a great step back in time for this beloved theatre!! If you eantvto see a restored historical thratre, this is it! And they are local filmmaler friendly, too!
Our go-to cinema in Buffalo. The restored theater is beautiful, and it's great to have all the restaurants and Hertel Ave shops right outside the door. Excellent staff, excellent popcorn. We keep an eye on the calendar as there are many one time specials at North Park Theater.
Classic single-screen theatre, restored and updated to a digital projection system. Great movies, lots of matinee options.
It was my first time going to this theater, and I like that there's a stage in the auditorium. I was unaware that they had that. I like and appreciate the style and layout of the auditorium, mostly because of how nostalgic it is. Kind of reminds you of the auditorium at your old grade/high school. Not to mention having been completely blown away by the Dragon Ball Broly movie. I'm at a loss for words, honestly. It's been years since I've had such a great movie going experience! Such a positive and energetic crowd too. 10/10 hands down.
A beautiful theatre with comfortable seats, and great popcorn. I only wish they had some more mainstream movies, but the best place to see art house films in Buffalo.
Beautifully restored inside and out, it's a fine place to see movies. Programs are for the most part not the usual multimegaplex fare. A great place for movie lovers.
Dolby Digital projection. Not the brightest by today's standards, but ok. Speakers have room for improvement. Interior is classic. Great that to they have saved this theater and it's helping bring back Hertel Ave. They get films we'd never otherwise see in Buffalo.
Took my son to see the lion king loved it ❤
Love this theater. It's cute and classic. They show an amazing variety of new minutes along with classics.
Probably the best locally owned movie theater in Buffalo. Always playing great films, the employees are extremely friendly, snack bar has a great selection, and the theater itself is beautiful. Doesn't hurt that it's also right in the middle of Hertel, surrounded by plenty of great shops and restaurants.
Brand new movies with an old time feel. I love this beautiful gem of a theater. The workers treat you so well and have artisinal as well as regular theater snack faire. The theater is so well kept up that it doesn't show it's age. It's a beautiful place to go with a laid back atmosphere. The only downfall is the lack of parking.
Very fun classic theater. Reminds me of the Senator in Baltimore.
Beautiful place. So nice that they fixed it up.
Nice classic theater. Under repairs but very nostalgic.
Beautiful place. Had a wonderful time. Will be back!!
Last of the great film houses in Buffalo. Beautifully restored. A gem by any measure. A must see if visiting Buffalo. And surrounding North Buffalo is an eclectic mix of old and new
Theater was really beautiful and well kept and the ticket prices are pretty good at 8.50$. The only thing I had a problem with was the astronomical food prices. I know movie theaters are notorious for their high mark ups but this place is insane. Paid 15$ for popcorn and two waters. Will definitely bring my own snacks next time I go here.
Saw the new demon slayer movie very impressed with the way they handle covid procedures. Also love the custom 1 of a kind poster I got from there!!!
Very cool atmosphere- love that it has such a rich history. The staff was super friendly on a busy Star Wars premiere night .
Beautiful theater, poor quality of sound
I LOVE going to a matinee at the North Park on a rainy or cold afternoon. It is quiet and so beautifully redone! I recently saw The Children Act there. It is my first choice for a movie if something worthwhile is playing.
What an amazingly beautiful treasure! Growing up in Lockport in the 50s & 60s, I was at the North Park Theater just once. What a superb experience it was to be there tonight with our Buffalo Family to see the next generation ... Mary Poppins Returns!!! Immaculate & impeccably restored- the theater warmly welcomed each guest.. The staff are caring & superb! And the movie... Did bring tears ... Bravo!
The only reason to go to a big theatre is perhaps for a new movie. The reason to go to North Park theatre is to see a GOOD movie. It's a great place for a cheap date and a good time. Good concessions. They do trivia before the movie. Only complaint is the comfort of the seats. It's non-existent
In the twilight of tangerine skies, Neon lights, in the semidarkness . The streets preservation & popcorn too.
A great time at the North Park Theatre on Hertel. With the inclusion of exclusive swag the film, The Last Jedi, seemed like a real event. The sound system is great and it's wonderful to have a cupholder in front of you rather than on the armrest. The film could have been projected a little more brightly but all in all a great place to see a movie in the city of Buffalo.
It was a flashback from the past. They have done a beautiful job of refurbishing this lovely old theater. Highly recommend a visit whether it is for watching a movie or other performance????????
They play artsy and great cult classic movies. Wish the concession stand had some real food and/or was a little less pricey! A bar in the lounge area would be great!
Wonderful Wonderful to be with Family & Friends today At The NORTH PARK THEATRE So Enjoyable and Inspiring includes JOEY GIAMBRA & JAY LOUIS DREF
A beautilly restored theater. So much charm. The seats are comfy and there is no bad seat in the house.
This is one of my favorite theaters in Buffalo. It's actually tied for first place in my heart next to the screening room. This is like a theater owned by nerds. Which I greatly appreciate and love them for.
This is such a beautiful piece of Buffalo architecture & was well-worth the restoration. I really enjoyed my film experience, which was helped by the kindness of every single staff member. The concession pricing is surprisingly lower than what I expected & offers an interesting variety of international goods as well. So nice to see the sparkling marquee on every visit to Buffalo.
A great place to catch a movie. I'm constantly delighted by its atmosphere. They are also very supportive of local artist. They have the best movie theater popcorn anywhere and a wide variety of snacks to choose from. I do wish they would play some harder to find films and some more classic films from the 50's like the Dryden in Rochester.
Beautiful theater, perfect for the he screening of 100 years from Mississippi.
Nicely restored and renovated historic theatre, so happy about the lead glassed window on the facade and the interior is beautiful. Another Shaes Theatre brought back to glory.
Classic theater experience, greatly enjoyed even by Rochestarians :]
Pretty cool place
Travel back in time with this unique opera seating style movie theater. It was really fun. The snacks are very reasonably priced too.
Great place! They have retro movie Nights which are amazing. I enjoy the newer Theaters with reclining seats that double as loveseats if you're with a date or have an empty enough theater to Lounge on to all by yourself, but it's such a beautiful theater inside that the old-fashioned seats are just fine!
Gorgeous Art Deco theatre, worth the price of a ticket just to see the interior and ceiling murals. Love the retro movies (i.e. Indiana Jones) and independents, wish there were more options during the week.
Great theater. Went to see the Elizabeth Murray movie ????????????????
The remodel is so beautiful! It’s such a lovely space and a refreshing contrast to huge corporate movie theaters. Go for the movie and the ambiance, and the interesting concession stand offerings.
The most beautiful theater in Buffalo NY! (Dont sneak snacks in, you support them by buying candy)
This is a beautifully classic theatre located right on Hertel avenue - You can easily miss it if you're not paying attention, but it is definitely worth checking out! The theatre offers classic theatre seating, is clean, and the atmosphere is grand to say the least. This has proven to be the perfect location for a movie premier or event.
North Park is a great spot for more niche films. They do a great job showing smaller/lesser known movies (including anime!).
Good prices. Beautiful theater. Image and sound quality are both great.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yes, 10 stars. Beautiful marquee and interior, giant screen and great sound, a massively-eclectic mix of current blockbusters, family favorites, assorted classics, cult hits, and hard-to-find foreign gems, posters featuring commissioned artwork from local artists, themed concessions - North Park Theatre is literally the perfect theater and a neighborhood treasure.
Love seeing movies here, well priced and love the theater. In a prime location so making a day of dinner and a movie is so easy! ❤
Love going here for movie night. I like that they mix stuff up sometimes with speakers, live music, themed nights, and so on. This place seems really in tune with what would bring people to a small theatre.
The first theater I ever saw a movie in the early 60s. Does not disappoint.
So Good. My first time and it was worth it Avengers endgame Was so Awsome
Beautiful building. I am in awe with f their dedication. If I go to the movies, it’s here.
Beautiful theater that plays a great selection of movies
Great classy movie theater
Gorgeous historic theater with many fun movie-related events and $5 family matinees. We love the North Park!
Intimate old style movie theater. I love watching old movies there A++
I. love. this. theater. Even if you have 0 interest in what's playing at the theater or you're here for 1 day and want to catch a film, visit this place. The outside is beautiful, but you will be even more impressed by the beauty of the inside. Every time I go, I always find something new that I didn't notice from my previous visit. North Park mainly plays independent films...but the experience of watching a movie there is worth the peek inside.
The North Park Theater is a great place to catch first-run movies or possibly an old classic. They have lots of interesting events throughout the year. The renovations to the theater are amazing. You really should check it out!
Great theater. Screen is bright. Seats are good. Best popcorn in the area.
A Buffalo gem- Great visual and audio experience. Comfortable seating, wonderful ambiance and attentive staff. Watched 'Seasons' with my son- I recommend the movie and the theatre!
Beautiful theater, gorgeously restored, very comfortable, great movie watching experience. Loved the audience energy! A magical way to see the new Star Wars movie.
Always a great experience.
Old school one screen spot with good sound and snacks. Comfy seats
Very Nice! Easy to get to, Parking was not a problem... though it was Sunday eve. Love the Art Deco & Art work on Ceiling!
Beautiful old theater. Brought back a lot of memories.
Wonderful historic local theater to see a movie with friends or family. Beautifully restored interior, must see.
One of two refurbished classic movies houses in Buffalo. They run art house films and blockbusters. Old fashioned seats, great concessions featuring hard to find European and Japanese candy. Rumored to use real butter in the popcorn. (it's delicious) This movie house was one of my childhood babysitters. Thrilling to see it live on.
One of the best places in buffalo! Beautiful theater especially after the restoration and it has a gigantic screen. A staple of the buffalo film scene, this theater shows films that you would not be able to see in most commercial theater, its location on Hertel puts it near a wide variety of bars and eateries that you can goto before or after a film.
A classic theater for classic film and events.
Great place to catch the stuff that doesn't show at the chain theatres. Excellent atmosphere I always have a good time.
Historic Place restored to perfection...48 Hour Film festival was unreal showcase of Buffalo talent.
Fantastic theater! Friendly employees, comfortable and a perfect spot to enjoy a movie!
Our go to theater, love the staff, building and snacks.
Star wars movie with grandson. The theatre is beautiful, seating is very comfortable. Good popcorn
Old restored movie theater. Nicely redone. And they use real butter on the popcorn. Only downside, old style seats. But the place is worth it..
North Park Theater is a treasure, one that must be preserved, loved, and supported. Each and every screening/event, no matter what it may be, is an experience to behold. The staff is professional and friendly, their concession stand is versatile, and the venue itself is an enduring jewel from a glamorous past.
Always a good time. Staff are very welcoming.
Restored old theater. Lovely!
I love going to special event movies here.
Great theater prices are good & they have good off beat movies
Nice theater, but I just watched a quiet place 2 in a sauna.
Absolute favorite theater. Great for a saturday matinee or one of the many special screenings they show. Keep an eye out for these special showings/events as they're not widely broadcast and often pop up on short notice. Fair prices and awesome vibe inside the theater.
Love the feel of this local theater. Better experience then the big chain theaters.
Beautiful large theater. Good staff. Horribly uncomfortable seats.
First time here! I never want to watch a big screen movie at any other theater. Beautiful, classy, comfortable, safe, intimate with delicious and reasonably priced popcorn. Thank you!
I love the North Park theater. It's cozy and local... The perfect place to see a movie in the heart of North Buffalo. Plus you can feel good about supporting a local business.
Have been going to the North Park for years to see movies that are not shown at other theaters and cinemaplexes. The theater itself is an architectural gem from the 1920s and the new owners have recently restored it to its former splendor. The center section of the theater has all new seats, much more comfortable than the old ones which are still on the side aisles.
1st time there today! Amazing theatre and cheaper than the chains.... only complaint is it smells of mildew probably from being a building that's almost 100 years old! However it's still amazing and will most definitely go back!
Movies are just better when you see them in this restored gem...massive screen, good sound, and the ladies lounge is an unexpected delight.
Saw a great movie; Loving Vincent! Great to have beautiful theater showing this type films!
I just love this place.
I absolutely love this place. Its not the best, newest, most comfortable and high tech theatre I've been to... but it's an old, independent, original theatre with charm, history, and style.
Amazing old theatre that was beautify restored. Great place to take in The Irishman.
An amazing theater. There is nothing better than a film, concert or play presented there.
I wished I had found out about this beautiful theatre long ago. They screen great old and new independent movies. This is a great place to go for a movie in a grand Old World style. Another Buffalo gem!
This place can be rented for HS graduation. The auditorium itself isn't large, but it's a nice small there. The steps to the stage are a little scary, gotta be careful, there are no handles. Close to many small shops and restaurants, would return again.
Nice theater. Good atmosphere with one big theater room. Lots of seats.
Love this theatre. Great popcorn and plenty of leg room. Beautiful interior. Old classic.
Best theater in all of Buffalo. I would strongly suggest going.
Beautiful venue. Reasonably priced tickets.
Elegant movie palace surroundings of yesteryear, and locally owned.
Love this theatre! Beautiful decor, good snackies. A Buffalo treasure.
Gorgeous theater! Clean, elegant and great staff.
Very cool old theater! Might not be the best viewing experience, but definitely worth checking out.
It's always a pleasure to catch new anime or any other movies at such a strong Buffalo landmark. #$upportLocalBusiness
The restorations are absolutely beautiful! A wonderful theater with a wonderful history! Definitely worth a visit, especially for their special events!
