Newer movie theatre. Sometimes there's a long, slow-moving line to purchase tickets at the main desk - so go to the ticket machines. It's not cheap but it's always been clean and friendly. Lots of snack options including full meals. Great location for an easy kid's birthday party.

Depends on the theater you end up in. The Ultra AVX is very good. Some of the others are less so. Food is expensive, but that's the same at every theater. Staff is friendly and helpful. They two layer butter the popcorn here. Bathrooms can get very over crowded. There is only one (each) and when the theater lets out they're full with a lineup. Clean and tidy, overall a good theater.

It's a good theatre. Large and a good choice of movies. Overall it's pretty clean. I've been there quite a bit. Sound quality and image are clear and loud, without issues when I've been there. Food service is fairly standard. Employees seem to try to do their best and are helpful and don't push too much, which is nice. Only thing might be crowd management on busy days. On the second day of "Avengers" the movie started 15min late because they couldn't serve everyone. Lines were backed up. Took us 20+ min to get served. Employees were looking for support (overloaded, aggressive customers, lack of stock, software issues...) and they didn't seem to be able to find any. I understand this only happens a few times, but it was not a pleasant experience for anyone (employees, other customers, and myself). The picking of which figurines would be on top of the souvenir bucket some people bought really increased the complexity and time of service.

I am submitting this review based solely on the fact that nothing in the men's bathroom is hands free or touch free. It's gross that I have to touch anything in a movie theatre bathroom. I can only imagine how incredibly unsanitary this situation is. Besides that fact the faucets are cheap and your hands hit the sink because they don't stick out far enough. GROSS

The largest screen has a green shadow in the centre of it that is pretty annoying. I'll still go there because it's close, but it's pretty sad in there. They really should get rid of that extra restaurant option with hot dogs and pulled pork stuff, because if you want it you better plan to be at least 30 mins early to your movie. I've watched two people just give up on waiting and losing their meal because they were missing the movie. After waiting like 15 mins for someone to remember to microwave it.

What I like most about Cineplex Odeon is that they hire students and former drama students from the Secondary schools in the area. The senior staff have a vast knowledge when it comes to the cinema. Next time you're at the theatre, take the time and ask them about the movies.

It's great for family's but when the standard movies are either really early or really late but then having to dish out extras cause the time you want to see is 3D is stupid, I feel there should be more then 1-2 standard showings a day and then having to pay extra because the next or only movie left is 3D and might I add they have 4-7 3D shows a day! I feel like they need more standard showings then 3D cause not everyone has 10 dollars to waste!

We had to wait past a long time for the employees to clean the theater. We all missed the previews. May be start suggesting on your "screen tips at the movie" for the patrons to take their garbage with them when they leave the theater. Why do people leave their leftovers behind? Do they do that at home or at friends place? DON'T BE A LAZY LARRY, TAKE YOUR GARBAGE WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR SEAT.

Your typical cineplex, with the bonus of a Super-AVX screen. This is one of the newest cineplexes I've been too, and I visit whenever I want to see a new release on the big screen displayed by their excellent Super-AVX technology, which in my opinion is better than regular IMAX for detail and crispness. However, now that the IMAX in Victoria's BC Museum has been upgraded, I'll have to do a comparison between the two, likely with an FX-heavy film where the details tend to get blurry. The seating in the Super-AVX is the same as the other theatres: they tilt back, but there's never enough room for people to squeeze past even when sitting upright, so be prepared for grazes and head-bumps inside. The sound quality is excellent though, and tends not to be set to 'TOO LOUD' as much as 'This is JUST Loud Enough' which makes for a more enjoyable experience. Considering I have to wear earplugs in most other cinemas to enjoy a film, this comes as a refreshing change. Layout-wise, this is again your typical cineplex, albeit one with a small arcade( I miss those! )with plenty of room to accommodate both the lineups at the refreshment counters and people passing by to their shows. There's even a mezzanine above the arcade where you can wait for your show to start or for other people to arrive, out of the crowds. If there's anything to nitpick about, it's that there's not a great deal of parking in the crowded shopping mall lot that surrounds this place... and that the bathrooms are always, always filthy. However, both things are not the fault of the staff, as they're always busy rushing around on the job. I do find it's less crowded here overall than any other cineplex in Victoria, so if the traffic timing's right, head out to Langford and enjoy your show!

Theatre hasn't been as clean as it use to be... Yeah there is reclining chairs but doesn't make up for the lack of customer service. Still prefer Tillicum. Also missed out on our free movie as they didn't print our receipt followed with they said they didn't know how to find it. Girl was pretty snobby.

easy to get to, lots of parking, tons of restaurants and shopping nearby. always showing the most current movies, great reclining seats, clean lobby and theaters and washrooms, friendly staff. There can be a painfully long wait to buy tickets from a real person or to exchange vouchers for tickets as there is often only one person working the admission register. I get that they are pushing online and self serve ticketing but with vouchers its just not possible. popcorn is also often popped ahead of time and stored in bags on shelves, so its not always the freshest tasting, and for the price it really should be. That being said, this is our theatre of choice on the island.

Well Worth it since I watched: "GEMINI MAN" starring Will Smith & its 1hr 57min Movie, plus All of the Movie Trailers for the 'Upcoming Winter Features' & Box Office Opening Movies on Christmas Day! Its Always better to Purchase your Movie Tickets Online or In Advance, since 3 of the Movie Ticket Screen Machines were currently "Out Of Order". I thoroughly Enjoyed my Movie Theater & Cineplex Odeon Westshore Concession is Always the Best & have wonderful Staff @ Concession & its Always Best to Arrive "Early"! Especially if you're watching a Movie in a Group & Purchasing Movie Tickets at the Movie Theater, may cause your "Seating" for a Group to be difficult if more than 1person is Purchasing the Tickets. Some Movies are Only Offered in IMAX or 3D & you have to Pick your Seat beforehand. Cheers....????????????????????????????????

Wow, don't know where all the negative reviews are coming from, I frequent the movies a lot (12-20 times a year) and this is one of my favourite theatres. Staff is always friendly and efficient there, much better than a lot of their generation say at Tim Hortons for example or other chain franchises. Unless you want a bunch of TFW's ( Foreign Trade Workers) at your local movie theatres too I suggest you wise up and give credit where its due.

Used to go to the movies every weekend years ago. When $16 for popcorn and a drink at least got you a free refill and the movie start time meant the trailers were starting. No free refills anymore. Butter not included, and 20 minutes worth of fast food and iPhone commercials before your movie actually starts. There's a reason people don't go to the movies anymore, and it's not because of Netflix. The value just isn't there as an experience.

Won't be going back to see a movie here. Saw Transformers there last night (July 25, 2014) and for the whole movie there was a really bad "click" sound like one or more of the speakers were gone. Also, by halfway through the movie, the theater was a sweat shop... which is interesting since it was less than half full. I would have found a manager to complain, but by the time the movie was over, it was well past my sons bed time.

Always a good time to be had at Cineplex. Customer service is friendly and efficient, and they will always do everything that they can - within reason - to ensure that you have a good, fun time. It has only ever happened once where I had to complain to a manager about a technical issue with the audio and video being out of sync and the 3D was out of sync when the glasses were on. The issue was fixed in under 10 minutes. The manager asked everyone if they wanted him to restart the movie, the majority did not. At the end of the movie, he returned and gave everyone in the audience a voucher for a free movie. Kudos to the staff and management.

After two experiences in the AVX theatre months apart, I can confirm that the sound is particularly front loaded. Apocalypse Now and Star Wars both sounded flat. The theatre is also as hot as Mustafar. I was drenched at the end of Star Wars, and so were most of the people I attended with. Again, not a one off experience.

Great location, and parking lot. Have never had to walk far from my car. Seats are decent, though it's theatre seats not like the recliners in the one downtown. Prices are steep but it's that way everywhere so sneak stuff in like you do at every other theatre, the only thing they hold over you is the popcorn. I have seen many a movie here and haven't had a bad experience yet.

The staff sold me food they no longer had and waited till I paid to tell me. And took forever to refund me and tell me what they actually had. They were confused slow and didn't seem to care at all and when I finally did get food, it was barely edible. They had just microwaved some old fries they had and slopped some cold gravy after I was in line half an hour and paid an arm and a leg for it. Horrible service. The food here isn't good anymore I wouldn't recommend ordering.

The management at this theater are great. From being super friendly when checking vaccine passports and greeting us. To making sure the experience is good. Tonight during Spider Man No Way Home the screen cut out for a few minutes but the movie kept going with sound. Not a big deal and they had the screen working again in a few minutes. But the manager came and gave every person a free movie pass on the way out. Gestures like these are appreciated and make me feel they truly want us to enjoy the experience. We will gladly keep making the drive out to langford rather than going to the closer downtown theaters.

Overpriced for the quality. Often no one at the service counter, or inexperienced people left alone and have to get a manager every 10 minutes. Walls are thin so if you are close to the wall and the movie is quiet (but next theatre over is on a loud part) there is a possibility of hearing it. Food service is slow. I've waited in a line up with 2 customers in front of me (not even a family) and it took over 5min! Staff has been helpful when I'm in my wheelchair with my nephew and often go out of their way to try to help. But they can be overly helpful sometimes (helpful to the point of trying to force the help onto you when it's not needed/wanted). Often not a good selection of movies. With more than 2 theatres sometimes showing the same movie. Since it's a smaller theatre than Silvercity I don't think there should 2-3 theatre's showing the same movie. If Silvercity was closer (I am in Sooke) I would go there more often, but since I rely on the bus that often leaves Silvercity out unless it's an afternoon showing.

My daughter and I stood at the snack bar waiting for 1 of the 5 people working to take my daughters order and they all looked at us then turned away and started doing other things. We had to go to the hot dog area to get help. They all looked miserable.

I really like this location. The staff are friendly, they have a good selection, and it's a well-maintained and well-looked-after place. The only issue I have is that the seats aren't as comfortable as the Odeon downtown. I still prefer this location due to, well, the location, but the seating isn't as good. Regardless, I certainly will be coming back!

we went to see a movie and the sound was so loud we were in pain when we asked that they turn it down we were told the ads were a lot louder than the movie. I covered my ears and it was so loud my ears hurt and they still hurt now 2o minutes later. we demanded our money back.

Went to the first movie I'd been to in a long time, walked in and had to yell "hellooooo" a bunch of times before someone came out. Bought popcorn and asked for butter in the middle too and the lady was super rude and snapped back that "Great now I have to throw this whole thing out and do it AGAIN." Ended up getting sick and left theater puking. Unrelated but sucked none the less, didn't even get to eat the popcorn after all that lol. Will be driving to Tillicum next time.

Not managed well. Went to see a movie in the Ultra X theater. They had a problem with the projector and took a while to get it working. Missed all the previews, did not effect the movie but one of the things we like and the bonus to going to a theater. Then about 80% of the way into the movie the lights came on and stayed on for over 10 minutes. Missed part of the movie trying to get them to shut them off. A few of us tried to explain our bad experience to the manager and all he could do was was say it wasn't a big deal. Well part of what I am paying for is the experience. There are less expensive ways to see movies these days. If things go wrong the manager should at least be apologetic. Why should I come back for that kind of experience.

This place is neat but the fact that there are popcorn on the floor. There are a lot of great movies to pick and watch. As you come inside, the place will give you a hungry smell of the delicious popcorn and the thrilling sound of the bubbles in the soda. The taste of it all os very unhealthy but heavenly. There is an arcade for the kids or for you to play a game while wait for your movie to play. This is a 5 star. Enjoy the movies. Have fun.????????????????

Jan 02, 2022 I bought theater pass to my kids for Christmas. The worst experience for my family. They were so desappointed....I bought 6 pops and 3 x XL popcorn. First no juice and after no orange pop. They got water and no XL bag popcorn and he offer me 6 small popcorn. I got screw so bad. I need to specify his service was bad felt like he didn't want to be there. Anyway, lucky movie was good but at this point I understand is COVID but if you have nothing to offer just close this place... Sorry I'm very mad about my experience yesterday.

Hands down the worst theater in Victoria despite being the newest. The man who I assume is the manager has been unnecessarily rude to me and others I know who have gone to the theater on multiple occasions. As well, for some reason this theater attracts the worst audiences in Victoria. So many people talking or on their phones and management simply doesn't care. I'd recommend making the trip out to literally any other theater if you want a solid movie experience.

Just watched Spider-Man no way home at your theatre yesterday at 12:30 showing on my birthday December 19th the screen blacked out twice during pivotal moments of the movie for minutes both times which caused us not only to lose the magic of the movie we were watching twice but also miss out on important parts of the movie that we now don't know what happened. We got one ticket each as compensation which to me was a joke because in my opinion we all have to watch the movie again now to see what we missed and have that magic we missed out on the first time they should have given us at least another free ticket to go watch another movie as compensation for it not only happening once but twice during the same showing. I will never go back to this theatre and I suggest that if you need to watch any movie this weekend or this holiday especially Spider-Man if you don't want it to be completely ruined don't go to this theatre. I had all of my kids there there was six of us in all and the one thing everyone talked about after the movie was the fact that we never got to watch the whole movie thank you Cineplex Odeon Westshore for making my birthday not special in any way shape or form

In an effort to go staff free they have created a monster issue. We had a gift certificate and were directed to go to the concession line ups. They do not have a kiosk manned by a person anymore, so if you have a question or need assistance you are up the creek. Sadly we picked the line with the trainer. 25 min later we reached the trainee who was very sweet and pleasant but the show was sold out. This is not a customer first set up. Perhaps a snake line is needed for the concessions so you don't get stuck behind someone who hasn't made their mind up or there is an issue.
