No where else in town has such a diverse lineup of films. They mix documentary screenings with late-run Hollywood stuff, meaning there's something for everyone. Also, unquestionably the most affordable theatre in town.

While the theater is not new, it's very comfortable to watch movies in the latest digital technology, many movies we otherwise would not have an opportunity to enjoy here in Victoria elsewhere. The projection is sometimes random. The concession stand isn't the weaponized version you may be used to from the chain theatres, but it's still good. The concession stand is open during daytime and they have lots of baked goods and barrista-made coffee.

Cinecenta is an awesome little movie theatre with off the main path Jems of movies mixed in with classics and some great newer movies. It's very cute and cozy and comfortable and the staff is always awesome. And have I mentioned that popcorn?? Great popcorn with butter and they even offer nutritional yeast as a topper. :) Also a great deal especially for students after 9pm!

The selection of movies here is awesome. I like going to Cinacenta over other theatres because I have to do very little guess work as to which movies are worth my time-- they're all good! Rates are awesome, especially given that I'm a student. The views aren't that good, because it's not raised seating style, and the older patrons tend to complain throughout the movie if their view is blocked.

I enjoy this theatre very much. I saw Three Identical Strangers. I went alone and feel comfortable going to the movies alone. The seats are comfortable. I am tall and have long legs and these seats seem to have more leg room than most theatres. Admission price is fair and the Popcorn (with butter!) is VERY good and fair prices too.

Very reasonable price, compared to some of the other movie theatres in Victoria. They show only the best movies and plenty of interesting ones too that the other theatres don't. The snacks are very cheap and they even offer nutritional yeast which is a huge treat. Overall by far the best movie theatre in Victoria.

Been going to Cinecenta for 25 years. It's always been an excellent art-house / student second-run theater. In fact, when I first took film studies, it was our classroom. It doesn't have the greatest screen, seats or sound-system, but it does serve darn fine popcorn and coffee which is probably more in the mode of what they will be screening.

Basic University theatre. Their movie selection is generally very good. It is Victoria's best art theatre. Ticket prices are fair. Two problems, 1. In the summer there is no air conditioning. 2. The price of parking and the vigilance of the parking patrols.

Great movie going experience indeed and great location also!! If you do NOT drive, 6 buses (4, 7, 11, 14 and 15) plus the 26 (Esquimalt Dockyard to uvic) will get you there!! Independent movies are mostly shown with either movie stars that you have NEVER EVER even heard of before and or an occasional movie star that you know and admire!! These movies would NEVER EVER be shown in a traditional movie theater like Capital 6 and or The Ideon and or even Silver City either, here indeed!!

Pay parking was surprise expense. Popcorn was really bad. They just poured topping on it with a ladle and just polluted my whole bag of popcorn. It was really soggy and unpleasant to eat. The movie I saw was really bad. It was really not a great experience. I left part way through the movie since I wasn't really enjoying any part of the experience. The person who sold the ticket was unpleasant but the people working at the concessions were very nice.
