Very quaint, clean & comfortable little theater! It was a very good movie seeing experience! It was very personable! One of the employees actually got up in front to welcome us and gave us some info on upcoming shows! Even let us know they had blankets available if anybody was cold! Awesome!

A pleasant little spot, 2 cozy theater rooms with 29 seats each that are quite comfortable. Enjoy cheese and wine or popcorn and beer. It's a 21 year and older venue. Pleasant staff. Look forward to returning.

Gorgeous, gorgeous! I love the beautiful ambiance and special concessions. Going to a theater with wine and beer always felt like such a big city adventure. Love having it at home. Great films, comfortable seats and I appreciate their commitment to community safety. I am very excited for our upcoming private rental. A reasonable and special way to enjoy the new James Bond!

It doesn't get much better than this perfect intimate theatre in our sweet little rural town. Comfy seats (and blankets if you are cold), nice selection of goodies, delightful staff, clean bathrooms, easy parking. You'll get spoiled. Since 1986, we have enjoyed this little jewel, thru all its iterations...from the bean bags and salvation army couches of yore to the deluxe details of today. And there's more...amazing leg space!

Absolutely the best movie house! There have Two completely remodeled small theaters with outstanding chairs and acoustics. I'm completely spoiled now comparing to any other theater. They host nice wine and craft beer (under 21 prohibited) along with fresh snacks from local Nevada County establishments. The attentive staff introduce the film you are about to see, along with two previews they then show (usually films coming to the theater) with a good bit about those that will be coming. And they'll loan you a Blanket if you are chilled! Truly you will not be disappointed.

Superb cinema, both screens have only 29 seats which means you're comfortable and have a great view. But, make sure you book online. Great selection of local drinks and organic popcorn. They have cheese and other snacks too. Great staff and a lovely welcome.

Small screen/theatres, but nice staff. It was a nice touch to be offered blankets if it is too cold, and the personal introduction to the trailers and movie by staff. The offering of alcohol is a nice touch. We had the hopefully unusual experience of a fly participating in the projection light and landing on the screen. Interesting addition to the cinematography though a bit distracting. Buy tickets online to avoid coming to a sold out show - that can happen quickly.

Wonderful local theater. My family attended a movie here recently and it was my favorite movie going experience in a very long time. Only a small number of seats so be sure to reserve your tickets early. So glad I found the Onyx Theatre and can't wait to go back!

This is a tiny neighborhood movie theater that often shows unusual indie movies. There are two screens. The theater was recently remodelled and has comfortable spacious seating, excellent provisions for wheelchair seating, lovely clean restrooms, friendly staff, and delicious snacks, not to mention they serve alcohol too. So why only four stars? You know it...cost. Ticket prices are $15, $12 for seniors. Prices for snacks slip my mind, but popcorn and two glasses of wine is about as much as two tickets. Fun way to go to the movies though! I generally go to the matinee and skip the wine. It's a great little theater, and you've got to have fun, right? Edited to add:. So sorry, I got the prices wrong! I believe they are $9.50 and $8.50 senior. Funny how memory plays trucks, and glad to correct the review.

I've loved this place for a long time and am now discouraged, unfortunately. Choosing alcohol over young viewers is a disgrace. Obviously commerce is more important than quality viewing for the young locals who would surely benefit from good film. The upgrades and pride that comes with it convey that their ego takes precedence over all else. No longer the project of a thoughtful film loving, community serving, reputable business owner. Simply another greedy bar owner in town! I imagine the quality of films will go down too, catering more and more toward the high falutin, hoity toity know-it-alls that are swarming this community. You can bet that raw, edgy, racey, and even serious quality movies will be removed in favor of censorship to avoid complaint. I've brought my well socialized children here, for years, to see some quality material. And now my son gets to sit at home for 4 more years before he could even come again. Like the yelp reviewer said, he could go out to the other theaters that "cater" to youngsters, to view endless garbage. I gave five stars for the comfy seats and delicious popcorn, and five stars for all the great films and movies I've seen here in the past. I gave bonus stars for great staff that's been there.(with the exception of the older guy lately) I took away all but two stars because I dont feel welcome tbere any more. Enjoy your beer Onyx!! Now nobody has to walk next door, across the street, up the hill on either side, or over the way to the pizza place, stores, breweries, and tap houses within crawling distance of the theater.

The best movie of the century in the best Little Theater in the world. Seriously. The movie the biggest little farm. W w w. Etc. Go see it. And if something else is playing at the magic, sorry onyx. Go see it. It's a good movie. Beer wine cookies organic snacks and requests super friendly people great patrons of the Arts. There are not enough stars to rate this wonderful place. Worth a journey. Michelin 3 stars. Okay two and a half, no foie gras. I love this place and so will you.

A favorite treat to myself! I was attending shows before the poopdemic and was resurrected from a funk when limited seatings were again available. Great decor worth reviewing every time, plush seating, great staff, both mainstream and hard-to-find films all make for a great experience . It is cleaner than the larger theaters and I appreciate it is an adult venue. Under 21 have plenty of other opportunties. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
