They are doing an excellent job with the cleaning measures and social distancing. You must buy your tickets at either a kiosk or online. Seating is limited, spread out. The place appears to be spotless. Excellent job.

going to the movies is always great :) only problem is the food premium. snacks for 2 is almost 50 bucks! im sure we'd all go more often if food price was lowered, food is same quality as any food court, price should be the same too. next time I go, if the tables are clean and the movie room doesnt smell funny, i'll give a 5 Star rating

For the limited selection of new movies during the time of this pandemic resulting in limited attendance the theatre was still well kept. This is my first time attending a movie at this theatre and I did notice that there was some small issue with color balance throughout the whole movie but nonetheless I still enjoyed the film. They were following all social distancing rules and my girlfriend and I still enjoyed a good olfashion date. All in all good time can't hate.

Staff is fine but this place is getting tired. Theatres are not very clean. Seats are dirty and worn ( not all ) lots of Saint John slobs put their feet on seats and leave garbage behind. I don't enjoy going to this place.

During the holidays, all shops are closed, the people only know to watch movies here for entertainment. So need to book early to have a good seat. Tickets range from 12-16 CAD. Popcorn prices are quite expensive but no other option. There is a small games area for children, 2 CAD for a ticket. However, there are also 1-2 free games

I visited CINEPLEX to watch Wonder Woman 1984, and the seats were filthy, and the service was very poor. Need lots of improvement. On my recent visit for FF9, the seats were clean, but I would expect more cleanliness and superior service quality in the future.

Wonderful to get back to the movies again. $5.00 ticket price is a great idea and it is a real treat to see some classics on the big screen again. Theatre was very well organized and very clean.

Awesome theatre with specific seat-selection tickets and lots of good food options. Nice big screens and comfy seats. Self-service ticket machines and a small arcade at the entrance. I only took off a star because I really wanted a pretzel and they weren't available when I went. Tuesday night is cheap night!

Great Cineplex for us to go.Remember when they tore down uptown one how dissapointed the patrons were. I find this your typical Cineplex.Love even pictures and previews they show before entering cinema area.Love the big screen but would like to have more elbow room as it was packed when I went to watch movie and found it hard to enjoy refreshments due to limited elbow room.Great movies to watch.Glad Saint John has it.

Great theater. Had some issues with no audio at the start of the movie but it was quickly corrected and this happens. Dropped a star as none of the self service kiosks would work for most people when trying to scan their phones. Ended up using the website to purchase tickets and then scan the phone at a separate machine which worked faster than most. Box office was closed at the time.

Fantastic venue with 10 theatres, a snack bar, and video arcade. Seating is very comfortable and the sound is excellent. If you want to have a meal before your movie, there are several great restaraunts and take-outs close by.

Food and drinks are overpriced (A bottle of water is $4 in vending machines.) Certain theaters seem to get cold in winter times, while others remain perfectly regulated. Good theater since there are no other options in Saint John to compare to.

It's alright. You can't get a drink for under 5 dollars . It's often dirty. the food is gross . Bring your own food and drink, or get the deals are Costco.

Terrible theatre. It is in desperate need of a major overhaul. The theatres are disgusting. The chairs are dirty, the bathrooms are a mess. I Love going to the theatre but stopped going because of how dirty this theatre is. Build a more modern one detached from a mall. Also bring back the Queues at the concession stand. Nothing worse than piling up in the middle of the concession floor trying to figure out where the line is.

We left our movie early because we thought it would be a good idea to see a 10pm showing in our thirties. (It wasn't) Then, on our way out I found 5 bucks on the floor which I exchanged for goods and services at the mcdonalds just down the way. They have the old ice cream machine. It was a blast!

It was fine. Always a nice escape. Obviously the orices, mainly of confections are high, but thst is what they primarily make their money from. They should have like older movies for 5 bucks. In Calgary they had 2 dollar matinees of older, but good movies. Fun.

Theatre is very clean but the volume was so loud, I literally had to cover my ears at times. Upon leaving I mentioned it to Ben and Garret , very nice about my issue suggesting it is part of the IMAX experience. I explained I chose the IMAX theatre because I wanted the loud volume but not a volume so loud it physically hurt my ears. I asked a fellow attendee if they found it too loud and they agreed. Very dissatisfied with the experience. Ben and Garret promised they’d pass along my complaint and did seem emphatic. I am posting this review hoping someone who can make changes, will! I was told the volume is not controlled locally!

The new enhanced seating is a nice touch for viewers not wishing to view movies in 3D. The new layout they have for ticketing and snack sales is nice, you no longer have to wait in the same line for both. They seem to have cut back on the number of advertisements that are played prior to previews, which is nice since we are already paying for the movie, there is little need for ads. Audio levels could be regulated better, the levels jump during some ads and previews. Cleaning in-between showing could be better done, there was spilled drink on top of one of the seats I reserved, and speaking of reserved seating, this is the best thing they offer, guarantees you a seat.

Really showing its age, walls are painted plyboard, lots of dings and damage. Bathrooms are very dirty. Many of the chairs in the "special" seating avx theatre are broken and uncomfortable. The projectors in the smaller theaters have motion blur in 3d films. Don't like to give a bad review but I wish the parent company would invest some money into this theater to bring it up to standards.

The establishment/lobby itself is modern and somewhat well kept. The concessions staff is always very friendly and competent. The problems start when you begin to make your way to the theaters themselves. The ushers are pretty clearly not supervised as the theaters are often left filthy, and no one is ever around to keep the theaters in check during the show which leads to hecklers, talking obnoxiously during the feature, seats being kicked and feet by your ears. What your generally left with is a pretty unpleasant experience and neither the staff or management seem to care. If there were other theaters in the region, this one would not be my first choice.

11 and change for the ultra avx 3D tickets on Tuesdays is a ridiculously good deal,went to see no time to die and enjoyed the ability to recline and relax,their popcorn remains unmatched in the city and the arcade is a nice touch that I think goes under appreciated by patrons

My wife and I see a lot of movies. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Could do a little better in the maintenance department with seats and floor being clean. Staff probably recieved too low pay to expect that though.

Probably on of the worse managed Cineplex in recent memory. Theater was very dirty. The popcorn tasted old, the staff were ignorant to the pure liquid state slushy. 5 staff were leaning on objects and casual chatting/hanging out behind the counter while customers were struggling to be served by the 2 other staff. I would recommend trying a different Cinema if you have the option.

I was very pleased with the whole experience. The staff were quite kind and were ready to clean the theater as soon as everyone was finished. Even though it was exceptionally busy I got to my movie quick. I highly recommend the staff of the Cineplex Cinemas in Saint John to continue these practices.

This place has been way more of an attraction since taking over from Empire, but they did further renovations and now this is quite the movie theater. They have typical stuff like buying tickets ahead of time, reserved seating, stadium seating, etc. But they have added huge trivia screens in the lobby and upgraded the arcade area with newer games and use a card system instead of tokens. It has a very fun atmosphere inside. I also enjoy the interactive trivia before each movie to win Scene points.

A great place to see movies. I bought 3 tickets for me and my friends, and it was only 35$! The only downside is how expensive the food is. For one hot dog, it's around 4.50$, of a medium drink is around 6.30$.

I love taking the whole family here but you better bring a pocket full of cash if you chose to do the same! Last time I was here I went to get a " free refill" on my popcorn and was told they no longer offer free refills!! So then I had to spend another $10 on one bag of popcorn!!! What's that a 10,000% markup??

Its Cineplex. What can I say. I do wish they had those get your own drink machines that some Cineplex have. Those things are awesome. But always clean. Always friendly staff.

The people there are very nice. Movie theater is large. Seems clean and tidy. There are bathrooms there. When I went to visit they smelled very nice and clean. A bit pricey for food...worth it in my opinion.

Great movie theater. It's very clean and the staff are friendly. My only compaint is the price of the food. Two pop, a popcorn and a small bag of treats is close to $20. I suppose every theater is this way now though so it's probably normal.

The interior of the theatre is beautiful, modern, cozy and comfy BUT the washrooms are the most disgusting I have ever seen. They're old, dirty, in bad shape and very dark. The stalls are in serious need to be remodeled! Until they make that a priority, I likely will not be returning often.

Movie was good. They only had one person working the counter when we went in. Then the people in front of me had ... Big sigh ... Coupons. TOns of them. Of course. WHERE were all the other staff? Out back. Then the theater itself was so cold that it took me a long time to warm up when I got home. 11:00am showing of Dragon Ball Super Broly Line ups were medium length and they moved fast. Paid for my food (get a scene card and combo 5 and you get a free movie, do this everytime do always have a free admission) I also got a hotdog and the bun was completely split is my only complaint. Got great seats. (Seats D1 D2 D3 have the bar in front instead of other seats, more leg room) Movie was excellent, lighting was good, sound and video was good. Overall great experience.

Though the ticket prices, and food prices, are a bit high (like every other theatre nowadays), it's always a good time here. The arcade is also pretty fun :) They have an Ultra AVX theatre which has really great sound!

We will always go to the movies. It's your typical movie theatre. Expensive treats. Very dirty I noticed the last time. The lights came on. I was shocked on how gross it was. Just don't look!

Sadly this is the only movie theatre in the city, but it tends to often be a miss. I’ve lost count of the amount of times a Cineplex was advertised to get a movie or an event then the Saint John location doesn’t get it. For example, last year Moncton played a couple classic movies over a weekend. Went to the SJ theatre and was told they weren’t getting them. I believe it was Christmas time and Moncton was playing some Christmas classics. As I said things like this happen frequently, and I’ve lost count of examples I can include. The most recent example was that they didn’t get the new Kevin Smith movie here, Jay and Silent Bob: Reboot. Here’s what’s ironic about that: -Kevin Smith actually went to the city’s local government about filming part of the movie here -The cineplex pre show aired an interview with Kevin Smith and advertised his movie. Which isn’t even playing here. Seats in the AVX theatre are often broken. Granted the two or three times this has happened, they’ve given me new seats. Still an inconvenience though to happen even once let alone multiple times. The theatres are always messy. Whether it’s dried up sticky pop on the floor, garbage in the cup holder or garbage on the floors. I’m convinced the people who’s job it is to clean up the theatres just socialize in there because they are never clean. It’s not like I won’t be back. Like I said, it’s the only theatre in the city. I will say the staff is always friendly as is the manager who once had to give me a refund.

The wait time for concessions wasn't too long. I still feel that if you get a large combo that the should offer one refill especially considering the price you pay. Seriously fountain pop and popcorn aren't that expensive.

I was just there at 830 Monday night to buy tickets for the Avengers End Game for Saturday. There was a a manager speaking with a rude customer and we waited in line for quite some time when he finished ge just looked at us and walked on buy while all employees were sitting in the eating area while one girl named Kaelyn was the only one working and being bashed by the previous customer. No one helped us and the manager walked on buy. The only reason I'm giving a three is because that young lady working was so pleasant and helpful and was working so hard I actually give her a 5 and the manager and other employees a big zero!

Compared to theatres I been to in ontario and even in NB like Fredericton I find this saint john location to be a nice quiet place to go see a movie. Pick you seats before hand as well which is nice, you don't have to rush to get good seats.

I go to the theatre with my adult autistic daughter. She is a real movie buff. I have a real problem with the cleaning. It’s obvious that the seats are being swept off with the same broom as the floors. It is very disgusting to have to clean your seat which is covered with balls of dust, hair, food etc. This is a continuous thing. Maybe a small brush should be carried by cleaners for the seats. Thanks for your consideration.

My experience was EXCELLENT!! OMG I don’t even have words to describe it! It was just over all amazing. I went to the movies 10 mins late and I just got there to have one preview left. If your late you don’t need to worry about it. Some people say it a bad thing but to me it’s fine. Before I had to go get a waxing, hair cut, picking up Halloween candy and bring my greatgrand kids to daycare. Then still get to the movie the notebook on cheep night with my boyfriend. Just over all a great experience.

Was not impressed with the lack of cleanliness. Floor was covered in spilled pop and popcorn. My feet were sticky still out in the main lobby as it was so bad we couldn'tsit in our assigned seats until it was cleaned. Took staff almost 20 minutes to send someone with a broken bucket. Had to go three times for assistance and nearly walk out and ask to use their swiffer to clean the spot myself. That was when the guy working tickets told us that the cleaner had gone in finally. I actually felt the need to ask for their cleaning tools to help salvage my New Year plans. And staff during the situation was only making excuses and saying they would try to get someone to clean it before the movie and when we were leaving one of the staff became very abrupt and started a yelling match with my wife. The poor guy that came to clean the spot had a broken wringer on his bucket (maybe explains why the floor was sticky still as he didn't have the tools in working order). Movie was great thankfully to help salvage the evening but almost had to leave due to the lack of proper cleanliness of the floors (I expected the traditional light tackiness but not like a teenage boy after finding his father's "special" magazine stash).

I watched movies in regular Audi as well as in AVX Audi . The sound is too high in both auditoriums and the temperature inside Regular Audi in summers is normal but its too hot in the AVX one .

Nice, clean enough space considering it's a movie theater and messes are constantly made here and there. Enough rooms to have some options as far as movies go. The door to access the movie is not placed strategically, it is a long distance to reach the ticket booth and then the movie rooms. An IMAX theater would be a nice addition!

Had a horrible experience last nite! Had a date night with the wife and missed over half an hour of the movie. The first time I went out to get seasoning for our old stale popcorn that was supposed to be layered and wasn't and waited in line for almost 20 mins with only 5 ppl ahead of me. Only one cash was open but 4 other employees were behind the counter cleaning. I get that the cleaning needs to get done so employees can go home at a decent time but if that's such an issue then don't have movies playing until after midnight. Then went out a second time while there was still an hr left of the movie to get us a cpl more drinks and they inform me that they are closed. When I worked there when I was 16 or 17 we had to keep one register open for that exact reason. So instead I went to the over priced vending machines which were near empty and to top it off they wouldn't accept my money or my bank card. Even the manager couldn't get it to work after restarting them. With that said I went back into the theatre with a sour taste in my mouth and even though the manager went and got us a cpl fountain drinks which he could have done to begin with I had already missed approx 40 mins of a 2 hr movie. The manager never even so much as offered a coupon or anything for all this bs. This is very upsetting to me considering how overpriced it is to go to a movie in theatres these days. With that said it will be a cold day in hell before I will return to this theatre! If I could give negative stars I would! Very bad experience and even worse management!
