A movie is a movie ether you like it or not. But what killed the exsperiance was the concession stand. Mind it has been a bit but I took my Daughter out for Daddy Daughter date but had a sticker shock of almost 40 dollars for for a Med popcorn and to MEd drinks half full of ice. I know they have to make a profit but this getting out of hand. Will think twice next time.

This theatre is showing its age. They must have been upgrading their speaker technology over the years while not keeping up with sound proofing. You can clearly hear other theatres while watching your movie and it's distracting.

Usually clean. Staff are as nice as you can expect teenagers to be. As well as the usual popcorn,soda and candy stand, there is also frozen yogurt sold by weight, and a small kitchen that makes burgers 'n fries and terrible pizza. There are a few tables in the far right corner to sit and eat, or wait for friends. There's a decent IMAX screen. (You can buy your seats ahead of time, which is fantastic.) The seats lightly recline and are comfortable, theater floors are always clean, never sticky. Near the exit is a small token arcade, but no games you'd want to play. It seems to be there mostly to fill floor space. PROTIP: The concession stands are generally disorganised, and basically terrible when it comes to film promotional materials.

went to c 3 billboards, great movie! theatre was disgusting, dirty, smelly. popcorn bits everywhere, looks like hadn't been cleaned in a week. not going back there for that price and not an enjoyable experience. get some new staff to clean that place! Landmark at jackson square is so much better!

I will not be coming back here. It has to be the only Cineplex that hasn't been renovated in several years. The seats dont recline and they're horribly stained. We paid for the DBox seats only to find that they are an old version of DBox with very crude movements. I left with what feels like whiplash.

Not a bad theatre but the snack bar has lowered it standards and raised it's prices. No more popcorn toppings offered. Seems they will be pushing pre seasoned popcorn. Just adds to even the gone days of free refills on drinks. Hopefully they upgrade the seats some day like the newer Cineplex theaters. Over all still a great selection of movies to view at any given time

Absolutely disappointed in today’s ‘Stars and Strollers’ event. This is now my third time attending Stars and Strollers at Ancaster Cineplex. My first experience roughly two months ago was wonderful. The volume in the theatre was low but I easily heard all the dialogue in the movie. The overhead lights as well as the side wall sconces were lit and I could easily see my baby as well as the entire film. However last week I attended Ant-man in The Wasp and the theatre was dark (only wall sconces on, like a typical movie viewing) and the volume was way too loud. I complained to management, but nothing was done. I stayed. I should have demanded my money back as I did today. This afternoon’s showing of The Spy Who Dumped Me was quite busy with many moms and babies as well as a few solo movie goers and a few elderly couples. The previews began and the lights were all on his people were seating themselves. The previews were easily seen with all the lights on. As the previews came to an end many of the moms chatted but the change table for the babies had not been brought in. Finally one of the moms went to request the change table and it was brought in within a few minutes. However when the movie started the volume was way too loud and the lights overhead turned off, making the theatre extremely dark. Being that I was very close to the exit I went out leaving my baby with one of the other moms to request that the volume be turned down and the lights back on. I simply asked the attendant who was ripping tickets at the front to ask a manager to adjust both the volume and the lights in theatre nine we’re all babies were. After a few minutes nothing had changes and I went back out to ask the ticket ripper if he had contacted the manager and he had confirmed he did. At that point, I asked to speak with him myself. While he waited for the manager I popped back into the theatre to check on my baby and I asked the entire viewing audience if anyone mind of the lights being on and many people yelled no. I walked back out at the theatre to speak with the manager and he plainly told me there was nothing that he could do. He said that there were people in attendance that were not there for Stars and Strollers, so the lights needed to be down. Then he told me that they have a different system than other theatres, so turning the lights up wouldn’t allow us to see the screen correctly. The reasons that the manager gave me contradict themselves because he first says that he can’t and then that he won’t so things just don’t add up. As I previously said I have been to the same theatre with the lights up in the volume down and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The manager never even entered the theatre to see how many moms were struggling to see their babies or to ask the audience as I had suggested and done myself without the manager present so I get the impression the management team does not care at all about the Stars and Strollers program or their customers. This time, myself and others requested refunds and left the cinema. I highly recommend movie goers to attend this program at other theatres like Burlington that are true to their word and honour the promises laid out to moms and babies who only expect only what the theatre has told them their experience will be.

The concession staff and experience was despicable ???? I was in line at a register, the woman working this register served the patron in front of me and then left. So I waited a few minutes for her to come back. After she didnt come back I asked the lady at the register beside me if she was coming back, she said yes, so I proceeded to wait another 5 or so minutes. Then another employee comes and asks what I'm waiting for, I said to have my order taken. He says well you need to move to another line. I asked him why no one else working would be polite enough to tell me this 10 minutes ago and his response was, well no one is there so yeah . . . Really, someone was here when I got here AND I was told that this employee was coming back to do her job and serve me . . . Frustrating to say the least and just rude responses from the staff. Other than that the experience was wonderful!!

Our church meets at cineplex on Sunday mornings. We've been attending the meeting house church for many years and we are glad that we are finally open again. Obviously there's restrictions, but still glad to be meeting in person again.

Always fun to go out to the movies here although the prices on popcorn and drinks are steadily rising up each year. The younger workers that cleaned the theatre before I watched my movie didn't seem like they did too much. There were still bags of popcorn and drink containers in each aisle but I think people should stop leaving their trash and throw it out properly.

I like this location a lot. The food is good, the theaters are clean the staff is helpful. The only downfall is the bathroom aren't always kept the cleanest.

Went to see The Nutcracker with the bolshoi ballet paid way more then a movie. The theater was cold and after the intermission they forgot to turn off the theater lights which took a few of us to go to find someone to turn them off as you could not see very much during that time and as this was a ballet it took away from the experience. They should really make sure their workers get instructions as on when to turn lights on and off. Very sad that that happen because the ballet was amazing!!!

MARY POPPINS RETURNS: I took 2 young grandchildren to an afternoon show arriving 30 minutes before showtime. The ads and trailers were already started and continued well past the show publicized start time of 1:15 . The show actually started at 1:35. That meant 50 minutes total waiting for the film. Way too long for children. I will choose to rent and download movies at home instead of returning with young children. to Ancaster cineplex.

Best cineplex I’ve been to. It encompasses a great selection of pre movie activities and has frozen yogurt which is always a plus from me! Very spacious and usually not very busy unless it’s a long weekend or holiday.

Typical Theatre. Has an "arcade" and photo booth. Staff is friendly. It's always packed on a Friday. I've only had an issue where I had to complain about other moviegoers once & it was handled quickly.

Truly a rip-off. Went to see a IMAX movie during the day and they charge you for picking your seats in a almost empty theatre. Buy the regular ticket then go into the IMAX movie and look for a my seat after the movie starts

The theater has gone down hill over the years but that is probably because people don't go to the movies as much anymore. Used to have a lot more food options. As for the movie experience it was pretty good. Comfortable seating and good viewing. Clean bathrooms that are usually well stocked. Helpful positive staff from my experiences over the years.

Okay real time, In this cinema I have viewed %75 of my movies. One of my favourite experiences is going into the movies with nothing on the ground and coming out with a fresh layer of snow. It is magical.

Most of the time it's a good theatre and gets the job done. Clean seats and fast service. Twice now they've had a technical issues during the show. Both times they've apologized with free movie passes so I can't complain much. Once they couldn't fix it and had to send everyone home - with two free movie passes per person. The second time we were at the ending of Avengers Civil War and it froze- they fixed it after ten minutes but it was still an unwelcome interruption.

The lobby and theaters are kept clean most of the time, small arcade is nothing special but that's no big deal to me, theater sound and picture are good most of the time, I have seen some IMAX movies that have overwhelming base to the point where it's hard to understand the dialog sometimes. Overall a good cinema though.

Oct 21-2021 10:30pm “DUNE”….. refusing to accept customers even though all customers were vaccinated with BOTH doses and proof of vaccine was provided upon entry…. It wasn’t even a regular worker that dealt with us it was a “Karen” manager with white hair and a blazer and that’s takes her job way to seriously from the looks of it. Also this cinema is wrongfully enforcing fake COVID protocols… I’m a small business owner myself I know what’s right and what’s wrong, I been through 3 LOCKDOWNS of my OWN shop … and yet an “average Joe” like me knows the difference between COVID protocol and BS. Never coming back to this garbage location again, it’s a shame I’ve been going here since 2005 … (insert multiple clown emojis)

Like most other movie theatres they have reasonably comfortable seating, convenient show times, and all the usual paraphernalia. They also have reasonably good food, albeit typically overpriced for a movie theatre... such that you can get a pulled pork sandwich for example. Certainly no worse than the run-of-the-mill movie theatre, but its decent food does make it a bit of a standout.

It's a movie house. Went for the Friday matinee of "Richard Jewell." Place looked like it hadn't vacuumed in a week. Really dumpy. And then....13 commercials and 6 movie trailers in 20 minutes. That was a waste of time. The commercials: white males were incredibly UNDERREPRESENTED. Just an observation and I know it's trendy but it was really obvious. Can't complain about the ticket fee: $6.99 with a CAA senior discount.

Well... we paid about $50 for tickets for 3 of us. And $57 for popcorn and pop. (Rediculous but fine) then go into theater to find our seats to sit down and watch the movie ... the theater had not been cleaned and we literally had to move a ton of garbage before we could even sit in our seats as well as a ton of spilled pop ... I mean common ..

This cinema is great, it's spacious inside with a variety of self serving kiosks and staff to help. Most importantly the screens are big, with a great sound system. What makes this cinema unique and sets it out from other cinemas, is that they give you opportunities to win prizes with trivia questions, related to what movie's are currently showing. You can play via their app and can see your scores on the big screen, they do this during the showing of adverts before the movie starts.

This location has IMAX. Its really big with at least 8 theatres. Id recommend buying tix online ahead of time for any show. Ticket lines are pretty big. PS there is a popcorn butter pump where the straws are ????

Movie n snacks are fine but women's washrooms are not in good condition. When I told an employee that the soap dispensers were all empty except one I was told, "oh ya we know they're all broken anyways." Very disappointing and unsanitary.

Management needs to review customer service of speed of service. Very slow getting people at a noon time showing. One till open, 90% senior line up, any one in line up has to go under divider to get to self serve kiosk as seniors are still uneasy to try it or deal in cash. At least next door neighbour Home Depot has it right put second person to assist with kiosks to speed things up. Then one person on popcorn while others prep for evening rush. How about jumping in to help or a second till like Tim Horton's where speed of customer service comes first. Went in theater with no popcorn or a drink. I have seen this scenario repeated at this theater too many times. Wake up

Same old cineplex experience. Popcorns mostly hot. Mostly fresh, you know. The staff look bored out of their minds, and seem that they love their job lol. The usual. I think my only issue is that the theatre floors were super sticky when I was heading to my seat. Like they hadnt been cleaned in hours after a spill. Aswell as they keep allowing loud/rude people to just do what they want in the theatre. Im spending my money and time here hoping for a half decent experience. Not to miss parts of the movie because people are loud and obnoxious.

IMAX had the left side of the 3D keep flickering on and off. It was very disorienting, and gave my wife a headache. Multiple people complained, and the manager Roy O. advised us and 15 others there was no issue, and nothing he could do about it.

Overpriced popcorn, drinks and other foods. Outdated gaming area. Outdated and bland lobby / exterior of building. Lots of theatres. Comfortable seats. Excellent sound system. Helpful staff. Weird when a movie ends and one or more staff members are standing anxiously at rhe front of the theatre with a large garbage garbage can just itching to clean. The message being sent is: your time here is over, get out. Great way to ruin the movie experience. I'm sure having staff wait outside for a few min until after the last credits roll off the screen would provide a much better ending ro the movie theatre experience and be negligible in terms of time taken to clean up. Clean theatres and bathrooms. All handicap accessible: parking, entrance, concession stands, washrooms, theatres.

A Decent Cineplex Cinema To Attend. It Seems Slightly Smaller Than Its Other Locations, Nonetheless, It Is Cheaper Than The Other Locations Heading Towards Toronto. You Can't Go Wrong Seeing A Movie At This Particular Location.

ended up unknowingly waiting in line for a film festival while attempting to get tickets, a manager noticed and immediately helped me around the lines to get to the machines. Standard theatre food costs, popcorn fresh, and seats/floors were clean. 10/10

There is no organization or direction for customers. Went to the movies last night crowds of people packed to the doors, mobile ticket machines were all down. No signs to direct people. No floor Manager, just a staff member yelling what something which was inaudible due to the noise of the crowd. They need to have clear direction for customers during times of equipment failure and better crowd control.

The movie we watched in theatre 10 only had the sound coming from the speakers in the front of the theatre. When we asked why, they said that they don't turn on all the speakers if the movies not an action film. I think all the speakers should be on in every movie. It was too quiet for a theatre movie. I think I would have had a better experience at home.

The staff have always been well trained and efficient. The theater is older and needs updating. The washrooms fixtures are old and show their age or don't work. The seat are the older version and less comfortable than the ones at the Hamilton Mountain theater. Lots of theaters but this can result in shortages of parking on the weekend.

Arguably the most accessible IMAX theater out of Hamilton this theater could definitely go for upgraded seats. The pros however are staggering as this location offers more than just popcorn and a convenient albeit small arcade for the younger audiences. The IMAX screens are well worth it for the extra $5 and there are even self serve butter stations! Definitely a worthy stop for any moviegoers.

Awesome theater. I go here every time a big movie comes out so I can enjoy it in AVX and Dolby sound. In some of the special theatres they have comfy reclining chairs (comfy for a theatre). There are also lots of restaurants near by. A convenient place for a good night out.

Great spot to watch movies. I go with someone who needs wheelchair access, and this theatre is great in that regard. All of the screens are on the ground floor, and the wheelchair spots are on the inner area at the entrance of each screen, as opposed to off to one side or even further up front.

Arrived half hour early with my 5year old granddaughter with a long lineup out in the rain and over half hour lineup for prepaid snaks. Needless to say we were late for our movie with front row seating only. Slowest setup I have ever seen at any cineplex at any time. Seriously, 1pm on a Tuesday?! Took my grandchildren to see Frozen 2. While in the theatre there were young people chatting and using their cellphones. I complained to management and was told there was nothing they could do. My day with my grandchildren was ruined because of these hooligans. Kids these days have no respect! And the management at this theatre is atrocious. I will not be returning.

If the theater where to smell and look like the washrooms, no one would go there. Ewwww there is probably stains on the walls from when it opened appropriately 15 years ago. It smells like urine and vomit. As I said, please get this fixed. One could get sick, lose their appetite or loose all their popcorn they just ate, off the smell and sight of unsanitary conditions.

The Cineplex chain in general is pretty nice. I'm not very familiar with their competitors. So I can really give a fair comparison. I've been to this one a good number of times and I've never been disappointed. Of course, the price of any food you can get here is very high. Not worth purchasing in my opinion. And they don't let you bring your own food into the theater. But that's typical for theaters. The price of movies is halved on Tuesdays I'm pretty sure. So that's the best time to see a movie. There is lots of parking at this location. But I think that's typical for most of location in this area. Overall, this location is just as good as any Cineplex.

We arrived for our movie 30 mins ahead of time and ended up being 20ins late to get intl the movie. The line up to get tickets was about 20 ppl + there were empty kiosks but no one was directing people to them and it was a bit of chaos. Until I finally stepped put of line and walked up to a kiosk everyone behind followed suit. Then the line up for popcorn and such which we waited about 20ims i , keep in mind I. On my own with two young boys going to see a children's movie. Then to top it off they have no more kids cups to go with the kids combos (if your a parent you will understand the melt down about to commence) unser prepared for sure for a holiday Monday

Saw Darkest Hour tonight. Excellent film. Condition of the theatre deplorable. Garbage on floor, restrooms with paper towel bins overflowing. Food counters with spilled food everywhere. I took photos if the management is interested. On leaving I used the restroom where I witnessed a young attendant sweeping the floors and then using the same broom on the countertops next to the sinks. Should be reported to the Board of Health.

Tried the DBox seats for the first time, mainly because you could reserve them. Expensive, but interesting. I didn't realize the whole seat moved in conjunction with the movie. Drove from Brantford to see End Game in Imax 3D.. I like how the lobby is laid out. The seats in the theater were very comfortable.. The movie effects were very good.. Came here to see the tuesday daytime showing of godzilla in "regular". Movie was pretty great. Unfortunately I would have enjoyed it anywhere. The floor was pretty dirty leading up to the theater, but clean on the way out after the movie - for the 7pm attendees. They really need to rethink the functionality of their swag island. Its at the end of the concession stand, so that til should always be closed for patrons to actually be able to browse and see whats on it - without being stuck behind people to do, holding up a line themselves. One lady 3 kids infront of us - we went 2 over got our snacks and bev and was gone while she was still there blocking your products. On the way to our movie, there wasnt an attendant to check our tickets to verify pay, and help people who needed help finding their theater. (A couple who in an empty theater of 20 people for a movie sat 1 seat away from us, left after it started because they realized they were in the wrong movie) and my last critical piece is: movies arent really bombing because of how the movie is - they are more so bombing because of the forms of viewing there are available. In 3 theaters since its opening date none offer a regular version of dark phoenix - which if its as bad as reviews, people who dont normally watch stuff in imax due to cost, or 3d due to headaches - arent enticed to shell out more money to see a preconceived poor movie. Jus' sayin.

Really disappointed with Ancaster Cineplex because of no closed captioning (DVI) on some movies. It’s totally discrimination against Deaf people. Also, overpriced on foods and drinks. Cineplex doesn’t care about people but MONEY. What a disgusting.

Ahhh yes. Good ol' cineplex Ancaster. What is there to say? The fondest memories of my childhood rest here. Everything is so medicore that it's great. I mean, I get my tickets, I get my snacks, and I (usually) find a decent seat. Though not life changing one could argue to say Cineplex Ancaster is truly a wondrous place. Let's dive straight into the philosophy aspect. What is the standard of mankind but an arbitrary and artificial caliber created to do more than improve one's experience? To make us feel special? Do we really feel displeased when we can't get popcorn because the line is too long? Or that we need to choose twizzlers instead of M & Ms at the candy shelf? Or that the movie is in IMAX and not IMAX 3D? Or are these customary qualifications we, ourselves have created? Burdened upon the good staff of the cinema? Why are we really at the movies? To experience the movie or for the movie experience to be one to cherish? Next time you're at the movies and furrowing your brow because the box office queue is too long, think. Think about why you're there. That, is the question. So yeah. Cineplex Ancaster is okay.

Have never had any issues until one incedent. Accidentally bought some premium two ticket food combo with my scene points...for just myself. Self checkout themselves are a bit confusing. Couldn't understand how to use my points instead of cash. After noticing my mistake I consulted the front desk... after discussion with the employee and supposed manager nothing was solved...I was given no refund of any kind. Was told there was nothing that could be done. Lost however many points for no reason. Very frustrating

Just saw Avengers Endgame (great movie) however, I was not impressed by the theater. The sound was tingy so when the characters would talk regularly, it sounded bad. It actually had an effect on my enjoyment of it. Also there were these pink fuzzy lines on the right of the screen where ever the color white was, quite disappointing considering the price.

It's been many years since this has been "the new theatre". It was impressive for its time, but cineplex keeps building the new ones bigger and better. They have added a satelite bar to compete with the VIP theatres, so if your looking to drink during your movie, they have you covered. I went to see It 2 with my girlfriend and there were a whole bunch of kids who were making a lot of noise and being generally disruptive and rude during the movie, I went and complained as did a couple others and within minutes a manager was standing at the door of the theater and threatened them to be kicked out if they continued. Two of the kids laughed and we're immediately kicked out. I am extremely appreciate of how they handled this situation and ensured that I will continue to return. Additionally, the theater was clean, staff were incredibly kind and it was a great night.

It is a good place to take your kids (depending on the movie and your kid's behaviour) to spend their PA Days and weekends or holidays. It is a good idea to come on Tuesdays (as the tickets are cheaper than the regular price), however the snacks and drinks are expensive. This is a great place to hideaway from your responsibilities (if you love watching movies and have money to spend) and/or people(aka family), just make sure that you sit all the way at the back and some snacks. And just enjoy the movie! Imax and D-Box are more comfortable but expensive seats.

Loved the movie, however, we paid over $20/seat for 9 seats and had people sitting in them. Some were ok about moving others were not ok. I would expect there to be someone by the entrance reminding people not to sit in the reserved seats if they did not purchase a premium ticket. I also find the theatre has been getting dirtier. They used to be cleaned out quite well between shows, now it seems like they barely even get the big garbage.

This has been a great place to hang out and meet up with friends for a night out. Have gone here since it opened back in 1995. I like that they have added an IMAX cinema. Watching IMAX in 3D is an experience I would highly recommend everyone try. It totally beats 3d movies done in the regular screens.

Multi cinema complex. Large cinemas, comfy (ish) seats, big screens, good sound. Several ticket machines at the front, so you can skip the ticket queue. Not very clean, but they're busy with a lot of kids. Food is expensive, but they have frozen yogurt. A decent cinema, not great.

Really great customer service. We came to watch Spiderman: Far From Home but unfortunately the IMAX 3D is NOT worth the price. The seats are outdated, uncomfortable and squeaky. I couldn’t believe that those were the seats for the price we paid. You’re better off paying for DBOX in a 3D show that’s not IMAX.

However I was here a few days ago with a client and seen the venom movie around 4pm and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting as if it hadn't been cleaned for days. I mean it wasn't just a couple stalls it was all of them. Grossed me out and waited to use the bathroom when I returned home. Overall experience was good though and the movie was great.

It used to be on a high list when going to the movies. Needed a new refresh to bring it up to today's modern time which could attract younger demographic or better yet encourage a lot more people into going to cinemas because it is just so much fun. Now Dolby Atmos has partnerd with AMC and now in some cities in the USA and some parts of the world if that comes to Canada for sure a lot of movie goers will be more motivated into going to cinemas because as many people know Dolby Atmos experience is quite something . Its not just about the movie itself why people go to the cinemas, at this age of technology people wants to the whole experience visually and the sound experience that makes you feel like you are in the movie. To survive in the business a company has to stay competitive.

It needs to be renovated. If you are going to be increasing the prices for admission and food/drink then you need to increase the quality too. Bathrooms aren't kept very clean as there is often no soap or toilet paper, floors are sticky, theatres are fairly stained, chairs are old and squeaky. Service is usually pretty good, but could be better as well.

They're doing the best they can under Covid protocols. No food or drinks allowed and facemask on at all times take away from the experience, especially the mask with 3D glasses. Only 1 star because 1.5 years into Covid I expect Cineplex would have ditched the worn hand-operated water taps in the washrooms with sensored taps. Moreso the ones that you have to press every 2 seconds to continue to get marginally warm water while rinsing!

Saw a movie there last week. 1st showing of the day and I was disgusted with the filthiness of the place. Main Lobby was littered with popcorn and garbage that appeared to not have been cleaned up from the night before. Also ladies bathroom by the higher number theatres was dirty and some stalls were out of paper and only one soap dispenser out of 3 worked. I'd expect better of this theater considering it's in a nicer part of town. Movie was great but that's it. Wont be returning.

cramped seats, they have absolutely nobody checking tickets to prevent movie jumpers from going movie to movie. I saw this happening at the end of mine, and not to mention no employee comes into the theatre to check and make sure people are in their assigned seats. There were 2 different groups of people seated 1 seat apart from each other, others were one row apart from each other, with the covid restrictions. Then I had a group of people in the corner next to me loudly talking and laughing throughout the movie ruining it. Just got reminded why the movies suck, because other people ruin the experience.

Upset! I bought some General admission movie vouchers from Costco with specific hopes to watch the movie Passengers with friends. I found out later that my movie (which doesn't even seem like a 3D type movie) is available in 3D only in the evenings (the only time we are available to watch it). 3D is $3 a head more expensive and we really prefer to watch it in non-3D. I called the movie theater expressing that I feel cheated and maybe with hopes of a discount of some sort. What I received instead was rudeness and was told to "Just don't watch it then". What kind of response is that!? Naturally that got me a little fired up too. Sure it was one jerk and one instance but it was enough to prompt me to give this review and steer clear of that theater forever.

An older venue, but still adequate for what it does. It may not have nice seats that recline, but they do have cupholders. If you are tech savvy and utilize the cineplex app it super simple to get tickets and concessions. The fact that they have matinees, makes it very easy to take the kiddos out for a good time.

Cineplex Ancaster is a great theatre. It has IMAX screens, and they are absolutely huge. If you watch a movie in IMAX 3D, it is absolutely amazing. My biggest advice is to not sit too close. Yoy will feel much more immersed in the movie when sitting farther back. The sound engineers calibrate the theatre from between 1/3 and 1/2 of the way up the incline of seats and then sit in the middle of the row, so that is always the best seats to reserve. The IMAX seats are a leatherette, the arm rests are able to be folded back, and you can push them to recline slightly. I will say this however in the IMAX theatre they are trying to fit in as many seats as possible, so compared to a normal theatre screen the leg room is limited and the seats are significantly narrower. Ancaster has a small arcade, an outakes food stand and a frozen yogourt counter along with the usual concession stands. As for the rest of the theatre, it is well maintained and very comfortable. There are D-Box seats available at this theatre as well.

Who's brilliant idea was it to remove all the self serve kiosk machines ? The line up was out the door and down the stairs in the pouring rain. No one directing all the movie goers. Seriously, someone needs to rethink this decision. Why would I want to line up, with everyone else to use the small kiosk machines you now have at the same counter as people that need to purchase their tickets? If I go online to purchase my tickets in advance you charge a "convenience fee" of 1.50 each ticket!! There should be a discount for people using the internet, not charging them for it. Nothing about this is convenient.

As a total movie buff I visit this establishment quite often. I go especailly for the IMAX viewings. The theatre is comfortable and clean. They recently introduced the purchase of alcohol that you can bring to your seat in any movie within the building. I feel this adds to the experience without the added cost of the VIP tickets like many other Cineplex theatres. They offer beer, cider, and wine. Great for a weekend date night.

Very good handling of the reopened theater experience. There did not appear to be a lot of people in the main lobby, and seating is spaced out well inside the individual theaters. Minor quibble with the Scene rewards -- I only received 125 points despite buying 2 tickets -- but I don't know if this is because you are unable to have 2 different people buy individual seats beside each other.

I would return anytime to this location. I went to an early showing of bad boys for life. The entrance leading to the door way had broken cement underneath one of the handrails that could be a safety hazard. The main entrance inside was clean and well organized. The person at the ticket booth was very helpful even suggesting a concession upgrade with my scene points. Concession booth was no line up so quick service. Inside the auditorium was clean with plenty of seating. I enjoyed the quick time interactive games on screen with the chance for prizes.

Love this theater. The late movie if you don't move fast enough out of the theater then you will be trampled like I did. I had one woman nearly push me right over so she could get out the door and she never even said sorry to me. Also if you don't get there early enough you won't get a parking spot unless you want to walk a mile. Even if you have a handicapped sticker.

Twice i've here recently and i realized what a dud this location is. First trip- The "D" chairs sucked and were overpriced -at the back top of Imax stacked seating, and the bagged popcorn from the warmer was distinctly stale. Second trip- realized how much i prefer reclined seating as did not have it again, and was again handed bagged popcorn from warmer. Stated an aversion to stale popcorn as was reassured it would not be a problem. True enough, but burnt popcorn is not exactly preferrable to stale popcorn. How about an option to NOT get it from the glass case of curiosities? This locale is now only preferable due to the large bookstore next door.

It's a nice movie theater, but like many, find the prices outrageous! Unfortunately, that's why I prefer to do my movie watching at home and seldom go to the movies.

The place was clean, the movie was good. But I was very unimpressed with the service I received at the concession. The guy serving us never scanned my scene card which would've earned me 2 free movie passes plus only 200pts away from my third, so I was really annoyed by that. Then when I asked for my receipt, so I could manually put my points on at home, he said he couldn't give it to me because I had made an addition 2.50 purchase after my initial purchase.. Part of my order was the kids bucket but he failed to mention the toy was extra, so I had to pull my card back out for that transaction. Then I realized that he hadn't even given me my water so I had to turn back around and fo and get that. Had I not been having a special day with my daughter, I would have made a complaint to a manager. The movies are expensive enough so I rely on accumulating points to help me pay for our next trip. And when I'm spending almost 50$ at the concession just for snacks, I expect to be able to earn my points for those transactions and receive good service.. Everything else about our experience that day was good. They could add a few more things at the arcade, we spent 20$ on tokens but there wasn't much to choose from. But my daughter and I had a good day and she had a lot of fun and that was the point of going.

I was expecting there to be lazy boy seating like they do in Cambridge....but was disappointed. They also used to have free refills on soft drinks & popcorn but not anymore yet they charge a fortune & they are cheap to refill.

I will never go back to see a movie at cinaplex. My son and i have gone to the movies together, at least twice a month, for the last 6 years. We went to see the silver city in ancaster this weekend for the first time since covid and i realized they have raised the price of snacks. The combo i normally get for two people has gone up by about 6 dollars… The theatre was freezing. It was like they hadn’t turned on any heat yet, and bc it is November it should have been. I got up 30 minutes into the movie to ask the people at the concession stand about the heat situation and noticed this… Plush throw blankets being sold at the snack stand. So they lower the heat in November so they can make more money selling these blankets. As if its not already expensive enough.

Paid $23 for DBX3DGEN tickets for the J section seats and behind us were a group of unsupervised 12 and under boys who talked through the whole movie! It was very distracting and annoying and we had to ask them to please be quiet more than once. Most theatre's have aisle attendants but there was none in this theatre and I am wondering why not? The seats and movie was awesome but it was very frustrating. Please put people in the aisles to deal with issues like these.

$50 to take 3 little kids to see a movie. Not exactly a sustainable practice for the average parent. Not sure why it costs $9 for a medium popcorn, and 'buttery topping' is 99 cents when there is a self serve topping stand 20 feet from the counter. It's also a bit much to have to wait through 15-20 mins of ads and trailers to see a G rated kids movie that already has a 2 hour runtime. Even my most pro-screen kid was asking when the actual movie was going to start. All in all, I'd rather save the movies for home and take the kids to the beach next time.

Went on the weekend at 7 pm. The place was empty when we arrived, no long line ups. Because of the pandemics, the seats were spaced out, three seats on either side and a whole row in front and behind.

I've never had a bad experience at the Ancaster location of Cineplex. I would recommend even going on 'off' nights like Monday and Wednesday to avoid crowds and really get a chance to enjoy the experience

We just had an extremely upsetting experience at the Ancaster theatre. We went to see the 6:30 regular showing of 'Yesterday.' I think there were about 25 people in the theatre. At about 8:15ish the power went out. No biggie as we know that is beyond anyone's control. I believe it stayed out for about 5 minutes, during which time some staff members announced they were trying to solve the matter and are sorry for any inconvenience. They were very friendly. Our fellow theatre goers were making a few jokes since in the film the power went out also and we all had some laughs. We had NO intention of asking for free passes because of this until the movie came back on but had not been rewound far enough. All of a sudden two characters came on the screen that no one knew and a pivotal moment happened where the rest of the film didn't make clear sense. People started joking out loud "Ummm, who are these two?". I think there was about 10-15 minutes left of the movie. When the movie was over we asked to see the manager. When the managers met us, we told them how the movie wasn't rewound far enough and we missed a pivotal moment and even asked if they had seen it, which they hadn't, because we were going to ask them if they knew what happened. They were so unbelievably rude to us, saying that they know they rewound it far enough. We were in the movie, we know what happened! Then both of them started saying if that was true, that the movie wasn't rewound far enough, that others would have complained! I don't know why others didn't complain. Maybe because there was only 15 minutes left. Maybe because they will contact head office directly. Or maybe they won't complain at all. Regardless, it doesn't matter. Our concern is our own and should have been treated with respect. I said "I don't care if others didn't complain" and they said "Well then we don't care to give you passes." We mentioned how terrible their customer service is and left. We called head office and the lady who spoke with us was so lovely. She apologized a few times and said she would contact the managers to ask them about it. I said "I wouldn't bother, because they will just say they rewound it far enough and that no others complained" and she said "I know you may think they won't listen, but the fact they brought up other customers not complaining is not cool and that needs to be addressed." We were just so thankful and appreciative that she heard our concerns and told her that we DON'T want free passes and just wanted to be treated with respect as paying customers. I wish I remembered her name, she had such great customer service! At the end of the day we don't care about the power going out, and we don't care about free passes and can certainly afford to pay for our own movies. We care about being treated absolutely horribly by two managers who clearly don't care about customer satisfaction or retention, and to top it off, it is our anniversary and we went to the movie to celebrate and their customer service, or lack thereof, totally ruined our experience.

Great place to take the kiddos. Love the little arcade. Great games! I give it 3 stars because when I went in for my movie time to my reserved seats there was garbage (popcorn bag and candy wrappers) on the floor by my seats. Not quite sure about covid sanitizing protocols and what there doing to keep the seats/areas clean. The seats are super uncomfortable also. My fiance had to leave half way through the movie cause his back started hurting.

The decor place is pretty dated and the theatre is not always cleaned properly. The worst is the people. I have had at least 3 occasions where I have sat in front of couples having drunk sex behind me while I desperately try not react.

I am getting extremely frustrated at standard show times. You are limiting a high amount of people to not be able to go to a theater to see a show. So many people I know, can not do 3D, either it messes up there vision, gives them a headache, or they aren't comfortable putting on the glasses, or not to mention people that already where glasses. You are limiting a very large amount of people to coming out to the theater, you have to put more standard showing for us people that can do 3D, one standard movie at 10:10pm is simply unacceptable

A 1 star review is probably being gracious. We were really looking forward to our first night back to see a movie. Checked in and stood in line to purchase some popcorn, etc and the person (Zach) behind the counter was incredibly rude. Could hardly understand him, was obnoxious, and customer service was just horrible. It felt as though we were inconveniencing him by purchasing food. If this is the standard of customer service for Cineplex post COVID-19, I am very disappointed.

The chairs are outdated and uncomfortable paid quite a bit extra to sit in Dbox (which we have absolutely loved at other theatres) and what a terrible disappointment. These chairs must be the first ever dbox chairs because they were nothing like our other experiences even though they were the same Price. Popcorn was stale and again not worth the money. Stoney Creek mountain Cineplex or Jackson Square landmark has much better experience.

Movie venue was fantastic , but food prices were as expected astronomical. Went to IMAX 3D, we were not sure if glasses were sanitized between uses so we did it ourselves with sanitary wipes.washrooms were very clean

The have multiple screens in the theater. Option for tickets through counter as well as a kiosk. While you wait for the movie there is a small play zone for kids. Ample parking space as well. The snacks are super expensive inside the theater.

I thought i was in silvercity Gloucester in Ottawa when i got here... Same layout and decor. Really nice place to watch a movie and they have a lot of self service ticket machine along with the staff operated customer service so there is no waiting on a queue for a long time just because you want to buy a movie ticket... I haven't tried their food yet so i cannot comment on the food

Great theatre but is often dirty, they employ a lot of people but cleaning hallways and bathrooms is not a priority. Good parking .Seldom put down salt in bad weather which makes the walk from car to movie a dangerous journey.

Friendly staff, great space, parking is hectic but it's a busy movie theatre - what do you expect? Arrive early and you will have no stress finding parking. The theatre itself is typically as clean as you could expect from such a busy spot. The food selection has grown over time which is great. The arcade is still a plus. Overall, I enjoy this theatre because it has current films and the feeling of going out to a movie for an evening out is never a let down when I go here.

This looks more airy, spacious and grand than other theaters. Maybe becauae of the entrance or maybe it allows more light in. In any case a great place to go for a movie if you want to leave early and wait and shop at a Chapters location right next door like a typical book worm :D

I have been there a few times, most recently with friends of mine to watch the movie The Incredibles 2. I saw the first one years ago. The theatre was not to crowded and we had a seat in the wheelchair section. The movie tickets and the food are not very cheap, but it is a movie theatre. We had a great unobstructed view of the movie. I would definitely go again.
