Took my family to drive in, we had a truck on one side of us with 2 people drinking and smoking and on the other side of us 4 people smoking,I thought it was against the law to smoke with children in your car or in a public place., We spoke with the staff and we're told that there was nothing they could do.I think it's sad you can't take your family to a movie without sucking down second hand smoke all around you shouldn't be like that in today's world! I will no longer support the valley drive in.

Great classic drive-in experience. Prices are reasonable. Food offerings are the typical fare, nothing is spectacular, but do you honestly expect it to be? Movies typically begin around sundown with a children's feature followed by an adult flick. Intermission is about 15 minutes between the two. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to secure your desired viewing spot.

A great way to spend an evening. Pro tip - if you buy a roll of screen from a hardware store for five or ten bucks, you can cut it to fit your car windows, tape it on with masking tape, and roll them down for the evening so your windows won't fog up during the show. :)

I loved the experience I had here! Went for an "Encore Concert" and it was a good time. They do have a canteen (cash only), washroom facilities, and allow you to sit outside your car in lawn chairs or on the tailgate of a truck. The audio quality of the radio station is good. The Drive-In has a wonderful charm. Would love to go back some time!

Went to their double feature a few weekends ago. It was so nostalgic to go to a drive in theater, as I hadn't been there since I was a kid. I loved that I could enjoy the movies from the comfort of my car, while tuning into a radio station let me listen from my car's stereo system. We went as a couple, date night, so if you can stay awake for both movies it equates to $5 per movie. That is a great deal!! The canteen also had a variety of food, and messaging their Facebook page in advance helped me find a food choice that was safe for my allergies. I arrived early in my smaller car, so I could enjoy good seats up front. I wandered around the property, eating ice cream from the canteen while waiting for the sun to set and show to begin. I will definitely go again!

They only accept cash, even for their concessions. So we couldn't buy any snacks or drinks and they frowned upon bringing outside food with you, because it takes away from their sales. Unfortunately our new normal is to not use cash anywhere we go. They also didn't have an ATM on site.

We visit a few times every summer, and especially like the 3 feature nights. With last night being a 3 feature night, we showed up early and got a good spot. After the third movie, we were somewhat shocked to find the washrooms had been closed before the end of the third movie. This lead to a rather uncomfortable drive back to Halifax. All other aspects of the theater are great, although I wish they were a little more strict on headlight policy. It only takes a single car unaware their lights are on the screen to ruin a dark movie for everyone.

Exactly what you'd want from a drive in. There is a concession stand if you don't bring your own snacks. They are pretty good about accommodating people. They have covers for headlights in case yours don't turn off. There is also a small playground on the premises if you have children and want to show up early for a good spot. The ticket price is a bargain if you're interested in the double feature but it is fair even if you only go for one film.

Always love going to the drive in! Sometimes it's disappointing when people complain that there isn't a kids movie for at least half the double feature (honestly though, you can't expect *every* weekend to have a kids movie, there aren't enough and there are plenty of adults who also want to go to the drive in from time to time without seeing a kids movie). The place is dog friendly, just remember to pick up after them. Food is good; fries, popcorn, poutine, hamburgers, hotdogs, candy, etc.,. Everything is cash so be sure to have cash to get in and cash for concessions; there is also a 50/50 draw so cash for that too! Sound is through your radio, and if you don't want to use your car's radio and don't have one of your own, you can "rent" one from the drive in (you put a cash deposit and when you return the radio you get your cash back). They have Twitter, Facebook and a webpage to tell you what movies are playing each weekend and around what time the first movie starts, and they do themed nights like a retro night, triple features on a long weekend, and they have a horror night (my fave) after the season has ended. We try to go a few times each season, some seasons are better for us than others depending on what's released thst year (for example, we're not too keen on driving the 1hr+ from Halifax if there's a kids movie unless it's something like the Goonies or Jumanji; so as long as it's not every weekend, we usually make the trip 2-3 times during the season, plus the horror night). Overall, a fun experience I look forward to every spring and summer.

had a guy come over and tell me off because i parked my truck in the center of two poles 5 rows back from the front... moved over, and there still wasent nearly enough room for the people next to us. and the audio sounds horrible. there's this loud hissing that comes through over the radio frequency.. i also needed my radio cranked to be able to hear it. yeah, i'll likely return some day since they're the only thing like it around.. hopefully it'll sound a bit better then.

Excellent bang for your buck!! $28 to take the four of us to see two full length films! Only downside was it was hard for those in the back seat to view the screen. It wasn't nearly as busy as usual and we got a good spot to sit. Bathrooms and canteen were clean and had lots of soap and sanitizer available. Lines weren't too long. We got home super late but that's alright. Absolutely worth it!!!!

Definitely worth checking out! Really nice to experience seeing a movie this way. My only advice would be for them to be a little more active in making sure that taller vehicles move to the back, and lower vehicles to the front. Most of the people were incredibly mindful of this, but there were a few "monster trucks" that probably should have been back another row or two.

Great way to watch a movie... depending on who’s around. Being an hour or so from Halifax it’s worth the drive to see a movie with the drive in experience. My only issue is the lack of rules regarding smoking. It was about 20 minutes into the movie when the guy next to us lit up a smoke, and smoked another 5 before the end of the movie. Not the greatest experience when it’s too warm to keep the windows up but you also want to breathe clean air. Also they only accept cash (no stars taken for that).

If I could make a suggestion it would be to either play the most kid friendly movies first, since kids don’t stay up as late, then play the movies for adults after. That way we can also show up later when the kids movies are done, and the kids are either gone or asleep in their parents car while they watch. It’s also a little far, I wish Nova Scotia had more drive in theatres. But $20 for a date night is pretty good.

Went for the first time ever last night! Had a great time, you can even take chairs and sit outside your car if you want. They are pet friendly too. We watched Spider-Man and had a great time. We decided to leave after the first movie because we had an hour and a half drive to and from, but it was worth it. It is cash only at the gate and canteen. The food is good and fairly priced.

What a unique experience in 2021! Very nice set up. The website recommends showing up an hour early, you can get away with 30 mins. If you have a roof rack or taller vehicle you have to park farther away. I recommend bringing a separate Bluetooth or wireless radio.

Love this drive in. We keep coming back every summer. Look forward to the Halloween weekend each year. Hope they have it again since they didnt last year. Food is a decent price for the portion size. Great play ground. Appreciate that SUVs and trucks have to park in back rows as other drive ins dont have this rule.

Fun place to watch cheap movies, The food is not the best however and you can get a poor view of the screen if you arrive late.

Great affordable family entertainment. The new playground by the big screen is great, the staff always friendly and they do their best to have the 1st movie be family friendly. Can't go wrong with a visit to the Valley Drive In, excellent job Lions Club.
