REVIEWS OF Cineplex Cinemas Lansdowne and VIP IN Dalhousie

Andrea Clark

They did such a great job with this theater. When you go out for the evening to this theater it really feels special, because it is. Atmosphere, amenities, food, location. A great date night.

Beno Tsintsadze

Since the new rules today we were forced to wear masks to which I was ok with. What was not acceptable was that the room was way too warm and since it was impossible to breath with the mask I asked the staff member to turn down the temperature which he also refused to do. That same staff member also constantly tried to catch us putting our masks down when we were only trying to catch a breath. EVERYONE IN THE ROOM WAS VACCINATED.

Leo Denis

A very nice place, very boring all aHmetican (only!) Movies...

Michael Noynay

Awesome place and location. I'm glad they put a theater here as it truly adds depth in this area. Everyone was nice and the place was clean. There are posters on the wall with history/facts on them which is a nice touch while you wait for the movie. One tip to the managers here is to put the 3D glasses bin where it's visible. Last time I was here for a 3D movie it was behind a door and most people just walked by it and had to go back to get one. They also validate 3 hour parking which is nice.

VIP experience is worth trying out once. The dinner is not even close to great. Think frozen hamburger patties reheated in a microwave. The prime seating is a value, for $4 and you get the best theatre seats in the middle of the theatre. Be sure to get your parking validated.

Hayden Chen

1st movie experience since 2020 pandemic. Besides long waiting because Frontline served a couple over 10 mins for some reason, but overall experience is good!

Aaron Hobbs

A great theatre with a SPECTACULAR VIP experience. Yes, the VIP movies are expensive, but they are definitely worth it as a treat every once and a while. Great staff and surprisingly good food.

Jedidiah I

New and shiny, has an upscale feel to it. Ample parking that's freely validated at the cinema. You should try the VIP experience at least once (arrive early 20 - 30mins before), staff are friendly and patient even close to movie start time. The other theatres are nice too, clean and comfortable and everything fits well in this multi-story complex. Machines should be maintained more often especially the mobile pickup ones, these are broken one too many times. Accessible entrances and elevators are available.

Berger D

Positive: If you go to VIP movie you'll never be able to go to a normal movie again! Full stocked bar which make amazing martinis (real ones) and beer is roughly same price as a normal bar. Negative: They removed Jalapeno poppers even tho they were best appetizer on menu.

Paul Atkinson

VIP lounge is the only way to go see a movie, if you're of a certain age. 19+, service at your seat. Food & drink is priced the same as any downtown pub or restaurant. Big comfy chairs, plenty of leg room, and loveseat style of you so wish.

Mata Kranakis

Review Updated: this place is upscale and great but there are two things that I really dislike about this theatre. 1. The movie theatres are freezing cold. There's always a massive draft in the theatres I've been in. It's very bizarre. ⛄️❄️ 2. No fresh popcorn at concession ???? they keep it all these popcorn cabinets under heat lamps, I find it changes the flavour.

The environment and setup is really nice. The service was decent but the food really sucked. 3 different things we ordered and really barely touched one of them didn't eat the other two. Not a picky eater. My advice be seated at least 20 minutes ahead or 30. There is underground parking but it's not easy to find it it's opposite side of the complex to the theater.

Noah Baillargeon

Great movie theatre. Nice selection of movies and very clean. The theatre is high end and looks great inside. Staff are super nice and this is my go to theatre. It's also in a prime location, so if you're out for a walk on the canal, stop by!

alvine ghomsi

The service was good ????, fast and it was a really great movie (AQUAMAN)

My weekend place ????????????

I've been to this theatre a few times, and my wife and I usually take advantage of the VIP seating. Normally, everything goes smoothly, and we enjoy the experience. However, last night was a bit different. And, if it had just been one or two things, I probably would still have given a higher rating. So, if anyone is reading this review, take it with a grain of salt, as this is really based off one night and not my cumulative experiences with this theatre. When we arrived, we had already purchased our tickets online to watch a movie in one of the VIP theatres. We were informed there was some technical difficulty and the VIP theatre was not working. They could either offer us a refund or a later showing in the regular theatre. This is a bit annoying, but understandable. Stuff happens. The manager also gave us some coupons for a free movies another night. So we thought that was nice of him. Since we had time to kill, and we wouldn't be able to take advantage of the VIP in-theatre service (yes, I know, first world problems...), we decided to eat in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. Not bad, but if we had more time, I would have chosen one of the other restaurants nearby. Also, the waiter seemed a bit distracted or confused and while not unpleasant, not very attentive or helpful either. When we went to get some snacks before the movie, I paid with a large bill. This seemed to confuse the young person behind the counter. It was like he had never seen cash before. Eventually he gave me back my change in five dollar bills... I don't think I've ever been given so many five dollar bills in my life. Would it have been so hard to have found a few twenties? Once we sat down, and started eating our popcorn, we noticed that there wasn't any butter on it. Again, a bit annoying since we asked for butter. But, it was even more frustrating since we also paid for extra butter and didn't get any. Out of everything, this actually irritated me the most, paying for something, and not getting it. Again, stuff happens. While the movie itself was great, and we really enjoyed it, I guess we just came on an off night filled with technical difficulties and experienced staff that were a bit sub-par. I'm sure we'll still go back. Just next time, we'll make sure to check for butter...

First time here and will be going back. The service and comfort that this place offers is second to none. What a wonderful movie experience. From the free parking, to the appetizers and meal offers, and the great popcorn. Loved every minute of it.

Anthony DiMichele

Good location. The layout is a bit strange (many escalators, theaters split between multiple floors), doesn't impact it (adds to the experience). They validate parking too!

Christopher Harrison

Staff was great and friendly, main problem is the seats are out of date, need reclining seats

Kasper B

Nice cinemas with excellent seats, great sounds and the staff was friendly. I tried the d-box and in my opinion it was not worth the extra price. It felt more like one of those mall massage chairs on the fritz and distracted from the movie instead of adding to it. But apart from that, everything was great. There are lots of restaurants in the area and plenty of parking available.

Ielmie F

The VIP lounge is so cool. Being able to order (really yummy) food and drinks and have them delivered to you in really comfy seats. Worth the expense. (Which isn't much more expensive than a regular movie ticket).

Nina

The VIP is worth it, no kids, no hassle, super clean, food to your seat. What more can one ask for?!

Brynn F

Did the VIP experience to see Shang Chi the other day. The website makes it seem like you can order food during the movie however you can only order before the movie starts. We started our night in the lounge and our server was very distracted and seemingly overworked, which resulted in very long waits for us to order food. In the actual theater the seats don't really recline, no kickstand for feet and the tables are quite small and slide in front of you. I will say that the fishbowl I got was amazing, if extremely overpriced. If you're looking for super comfy seating I'd sugest Landmark Cinemas, they have very comfy seating for the same price as a regular movie. I wouldn't do VIP again.

Fallout Gaming

Vip is just spectacular! Spacious and extremely comfortable

First time seeing a movie at the Landsdowne Cineplex. What a great location and a wonderful facility. I wasn't aware that movie goers could get their underground parking ticket validated. Makes a lot of sense, and very convenient. Will return .

Karen Opas

Gone from a couple of movies a year to a couple of movies a month since discovering the VIP experience at Lansdowne, And the non-VIP theatres are great, too. But VIP is awesome. Really comfortable seats, tables that move, bar and food service before the movie starts (the burger and sweet potato fries is as good as any of the chain-type restauants in Lansdowne) and my husband says the wine is surprisingly good. OH, and private toilets. Plus there's the usual concession with some high end items (and it sells beer/wine if you want another beverage during the movie when the service has stopped. You get 3 hours free parking with every movie. You enter parking at the stadium and then follow the signs that direct you so that you are under the movie house. You can take an elevator or the stairs up to the cinema. The sound and picture quality is great and the whole experience is wonderful. It makes for a great date night and a stroll around Lansdowne, maybe watch the skateboarders, listen to music if there's an event going on, check out Whole Foods or Winners...simply a great experience.

Patrizia C

Have to give this theatre a 3 rating. The front area of the theatre looks like a bit run down with floors needing some work but when we entered the seating area I was surprised at how comfortable the chairs were. The screen was huge and we reserved the 'couple' seating where they recline back. Popcorn was a bit stale but overall good experience!

Benny Lagueruela Arencibia

Interesting experience, very high priced. The chairs for the VIP lounge are very comfortable, interesting experience to reach your movie drinking or reading something beyond the classical cinema food court. However the admission is hot. As an interesting detail they match up to 3 hours of underground parking.

Nashira G

The VIP experience is great! I'd say it's something everyone should experience once- but beware of the price of tickets! The food and drink isn't too overpriced though- it's the same cost as most of the restaurants in the area. The seats are really comfortable too- they're basically just big recliners. The food isn't the greatest but you can't go wrong with a bucket of popcorn and a beer!

Miss Thang

We tried out the V.I.P lounge. Nice setup. Clean individual bathrooms, the service was friendly in the theatre and the seats were comfortable. Though I was disappointed that they didn't recline at the feet as well, and a bit confused as to why there was only one cup holder for two seats. As I've been in other movie lounges that offer these features. The parking was horrible to figure out. We almost gave up. Luckily we found a spot out front. The young girl that we purchased our tickets from on the first floor was rushing us through and rude.

Glen

Amazing place. Such a treat for a night out. Excellent sound and picture quality. Every single staff member we met said hello and was very personable. Parking was validated yet we still were charged $1.50 for parking. (Just a heads up)

Allison Hague

Charged me for layered pop corn. It was not layered. Entire movie was blurry... why did I even go to the theater.

Bailey Poredos

Really gone downhill since it opened. Lines to get your tickets checked were crazy long. The parking garage exit is always excessively slow. They don't open all the concession so it can be really inconvenient to discover your concession is closed once you get up to the top floor.

Audrey Cormier

Have been to the Ultra AVX shows, and it's a beautiful new theatre. Haven't tried VIP, but now I want to. Lots of screens at this theatre. Convenient, with lots of restaurants close by too. Plenty of parking - just check the TD Place website to find out if it's a game night when you make plans. Favourite Cineplex in the city.

Brother Ollie

Good marketing... Not really such an "ultra" experience: The seats are tight, cramped and not as deluxe as Landmark. The theatre was dirty/not cleaned between showings, and one of the concessions was closed on a Friday night. Disappointing experience. I'll stick with Landmark.

Dayron Mesa

Great place. Awesome theaters, very clean and close to other services. Go get your popcorn 20 minutes or more before your movie. The service is very slow.

Larry G.

Great service every time I go there

Punit Daga

Love it here. Got great food. Even better movie theaters. Scene points are just a bonus added.

Patrick Redstone

VIP is an amazing experience. A touch pricier, however, you get so much more luxury out of it. And the food is pretty good too. The Ice Cream Brownie is a must try! As are several of their cocktails, depending on the season.

Skye High

Recliner seats are amazing. VIP movie experience is a must try (order food & drinks right from your seat!) Only place is Ottawa with D-box seats great for an action movie. Great theatre.

Eric

Great experience at this cinema! Very nice location and lots of options to choose from. Haven’t had the opportunity to try the VIP setup yet but I hear only but good things. Great place to take you date as you’re walking distance from a number of “A” list restaurants and pubs. Even a place where you can stop in for ice cream. Clean theatre and lobby areas along with friendly staff at this location.

Angus Mak

Paid for VIP, the server didn't even look at us once so I had to run outside to get popcorn just to be questioned why I didn't order it in the theatre. The VIP seats are way worst than I remembered.

Alex Anglin

Managers could use some customer service training.

Raff S

Food is very good in VIP and nice recliners

Mélissa David

Amazing mall

Juan F Casas

Really good, especially the bigger theatres.

Noah Davidson

This is actually a review of dune. What a good movie!

J L (lovedayx)

Amazing cinema, although they don't have a lot of screens for different showings and movies the few they have are all great. The standard recliner chair is a treat compared to other cinemas. The pricing for concessions is a bit higher than normal, and I think we can all agree the regular is over priced, but overall good in quality and satisfying. They also have a restaurant with a liquor license on the top floor giving you a nice view of Lansdowne, and the beautiful part of this is you're able to drink in the show rooms themselves. This biggest thing for me, however, would end the DBOX seats available in the top floor which include automated vibration, tilting, and rocking which has been calibrated for each individual movie, a must try feature if you haven't yet!

Jacob Robertson

A lot of new employee's consistently training, really effects the upwords and slowness really ineffective and slow. There management is also not that effective disappointed overall service. If you have an issue don't expect it to be fixed.

Montes Eugenia Viera

Nice experience VIP .

Ausama Alsousi

Great location to watch a movie. The theatre is located centrally and parking is validated. The theatres themselves are not very large but they do accommodate Imax theatres. I have not tried the VIP service they offer though I hear it's an interesting experience. As for the surrounding area, it's very well planned. The stadium is steps away from the theatre and there are many dining options nearby. Try Johnny Lansdowne for a quick bite before or after a movie.

taylor thibodeau

i came in to watch a movie and the employees literally carried me on their shoulders to my seat. the movie was ok but needed more zendaya

Thuong Tran Nguyen (Anna)

Parking went wrong with technical difficulty. I was supposed to have a three-hour free parking (we all do), but I ended up having to press the call button at the exit, and talk to the staff for a few min before the bar was raised. Good popcorn, good movie.

Aileen Evans

Hadn't been to a movie in over 20 yes. The staff were helpful and helped me find the handicapped seating for me in my wheelchair. Wasn't sure about going but it was good experience

Roger Baliki

It is a beautiful modern theater that's my only disappointment was even though I had 3 hours deducted from my pay parking I ended up paying $20. My stub was for 5 hours so $20 for 2 hours did not please me. I'm only thinking the validation of 3 hours did not register but it was too late to go back in and complain.

David Vasconcelos

Let me start out by saying Danny V, the General Manager, is one of a kind. I accidentally left my validated parking ticket in my seats cup-holder, and when I went back to grab it, one of the Cineplex employees had already thrown it away. Danny V must have heard what happened, because as I was getting into my car in the underground parking lot, he had followed me down, and helped me get out of the parking lot without having to pay the $25 lost-ticket fee. Oh, and the movie experience was 10/10.

Aaron Hobbs

A great theatre with a SPECTACULAR VIP experience. Yes, the VIP movies are expensive, but they are definitely worth it as a treat every once and a while. Great staff and surprisingly good food.

Marc Marc

I don't like the lack of screens. It gets clunky when there's two Disney movies out at once taking up half the available space. I don't like the fact that humans continue to be disappointing creatures who talk in a 25 dollar movie. There is a whole foods and a liquor store, so movie beers and food is very easy to accomplish.

F Maz

Went several times to this theater. Always clean. Food concession are well staffed to keep wait lines short. Seats are confortable. VIP tickets cost twice as much as a regular ticket but offers great benefits: - Seats are larger and offer more leg room. This allows me to keep my sore knees fully entended. Back of the seat have an electric reclining system, so you don't have to push your weight to the back to stay reclined. - 19+ so no screaming kids. - While the ads are playing, you can order food or alcoholic drinks from a server walking the room with a debit machine and taking order. - seats have a deployable tablet in the arm rest that allow you to have your food in front of you. - seats are made in pairs, so great for couples. - there is a lobby with table and food/drink services for before and after the movie. All in all it is really great. I juet wish they made the plate a little bigger (not the portion, the actual plate) as it's hard, in the dark, not to make a mess when eating certain food that are almost overflowing the plate. Bigger plates would be helpful. The burger was a great example of that.

Shannyn Oakley

VIP is a really cool experience if you're looking for a one-stop place for drinks, food, and a movie

JSM

Loved it! Tried out the D box for the first time and it was awesome

Cassie Braithwaite

We love this place. I had previously rated this as 5 stars. However the past year has been a disaster. Due to parking. In the past 4 or 5 times we have gone to this place, there has been no parking whatsoever. They have a giant underground …

Sean Flynn (SerBlackfyre)

Great experience here for both myself and my fiance. The parking was a bit confusing but the whole experience was altogether enjoyable. We splurged a bit for the VIP experience. The food was mediocre but was delivered to seat. The movie quality and sound was excellent. The staff was friendly and inviting.

Mason Delmore

Nice place, with many theatres. Awesome that they validate parking, too!

Hanea Rezk

Amazing place. I have seen spider ???? man - no way home. Amazing ???? movie avengers are taking the cinema every where. I love ???? it. Great actors. Vip lounge is nice quiet clean but I think ???? some seats need renovations

Chitvan Sood

Amazing specially the AVX is awesome

Jaime Farfan

Great theater and the VIP area is quite nice. I would give them a 5 star rating if they actually had the VIP ordering system figured out. In the VIP theatres, You have to order from a paper menu and have to do so right up until the previews start. Not a big deal, except if you arrive a few minutes late, they not only CLOSE the concession stand outside of the theatre on the VIP floor, they no longer take orders. So you have to go to the floor below, wait in line, and bring your concessions back upstairs, losing a lot of time and missing precious movie time. Why would you have a fully functional concession stand that doesn't open on the VIP floor? Many other countries with VIP theatres (Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brasil, Colombia, just to name a few I have personally attended) allow you to order from a tablet or device attached to your seat (on low brightness) and they bring your order right to your seat. Good idea, poor execution. Definitely not worth the extra cost for the poor level of service. Then again, I could show up on time LOL.

Shucks

This is my favorite theatre in Ottawa. I love that there's a lounge in the VIP area and that you can eat menu items and drink in the theatre. You can order food and drinks and they will bring it to you in the theatre. They have finger foods and more filling options, wine, rose, beer and liquor. The seats are very comfortable and you can raise the middle dividers if you're in a couples seat. There's usually parking on nearby streets but it can sometimes be tricky to find a free spot so I recommend arriving 5 to 10 min early to make sure you find a spot.

Alex Côté

Tried the VIP, it's just like any regular cinema but with service to your seat. The service is excellent and fun however I wouldn't say worth the extra money. I tried the pizza and it wasn't anything special. The drinks were tasty, with lots of choices. The chairs were not as comfortable as some other local cineplex cinemas and didn't recline. It's fun to try once but I won't be trying it again.

Clinton Pearce

Awesome eats, seats, come here all the time.

Savannah Greene

Obviously it's a dining experience in a movie theater so I don't expect amazing quality, but would still only rate this place as okay. Doesn't have much of a vibe to it. Found my cocktail a little too strong (I guess this is a pro for some people, so take that as you will). Edemame was served cold, which isn't my preference.

Alexander Cusworth

Best cinema in town. Not to mention it's the only VIP theatre in Ottawa and offers D-Box seats for select films it's a nice clean, well cared for theatre. For those who are driving in the theatre comps parking for the length of a standard movie so no need to worry. Bonus for those in electric/plug-in cars there are parking spaces and chargers RIGHT next to the theatre entrance in the garage. If you go to a VIP movie I recommend having a peach bellini, sweet but delicious.

Courtney B

VIP is not as great as you think. I suggest just going to a different cineplex and getting the recliner seating. It's the same and even better in my opinion for half the price.

Joshua Wright

VIP was great. Service was excellent and experience too. I don't care for the new Lansdowne but I enjoyed my theatre time. No kids in the vip

xGOKU Gaming

Vip is the best!

AJ Clarke

This could because of covid, but expect something to go wrong when you go here. Just about every time we've went here, something went wrong (didn't get food, food wasn't available, seat broken, fire alarm) but we've always been given a free movie ticket to return so it's worth it in the end

GROUPE PBQ LE

SPECIAL PLACE. A little hard to accès... But once you arrive. It's well worth it.

Peach Juice

Went to the VIP section for Frozen 2. Absolutely amazing! Felt so fancy and exclusive! Will be back here for sure when the next movie I wanna see comes out!!

Matt

This is a decent movie theater with an amazing location downtown. The seats are comfortable and the screens are large, the sound has always been good as well. my one complaint about this theater is The limited screenings, there isn't always something I want to see. maybe it's just me but this theater seems to attract people who want to sit there and talk the entire movie, I've never experienced it more than at this theater.

Richard Domino

Amazing set up. Really cool place full of things to do. Arcades to a nice dinner. Vip rooms are wicked, food is gourmet and they have good deals also. Check them out forsure

That Guy

Best theater I've ever been to

Mark Mckessock

It's great to have a movie theater in such close proximity to Byward and Landsdowne, but with space at a premium the theaters are smaller and the seats less luxurious than other theaters. If you can spare the time, the Landmark in Kanata is a better experience.

Dante Manale

Arcade is a little sparse, VIP menu is a little pricey, and VIP seats aren't exceptional, but you can watch a movie there.

Kevin Vargas (Mark - Kevin)

The price for VIP is a bit high, but you do get the premium feeling with inside cinema service to your chair and a exclusive resto/bar. On top of that even the washroom are better equipped. It is a nice experience, not for every movie, but totally for an special event!

Harley D

I love the VIP Theatre, what an amazing concept! I have only two complaints : parking is only validated for three hour, which isn't enough to grab a bite and see certain movies. My other complaint is that the non VIP cinemas seem to have very small and uncomfortable seats. The cinema itself is beautiful and perfectly located.

Julia Whissell

This is my favourite theater! There's a points arcade, 3 floors of theaters (including the VIP lounge, and D box seats), there's ice cream / frozen yogurt, Poptopia, and the usual concession stand. Always very friendly staff! My first time going here, I didn't know where to go or how to find my seat (I'm from a very small town) and the manager personally brought me to my seat - I really appreciated that.

Andrea Knight

Movie was great and service was excellent. Food could have been better. I had ordered the brownie but couldn't eat it with the plastic cutlery it was so tough.

Callum Anderson

This place is not really worth the money. I say this because the seating is pretty bad. Like going to the movies in 2006, small fabric seats that you sweat in and are immediately beside someone. The VIP seats are way nicer, but you pay. Landmark has bigger roomier seats for an average price.

Dean Chimezie

My best Cinema experience so far in Ottawa. Now I wonder why I hadn't come here first. Motion picture was sharp, surround sound was amazing, seat was super comfy. Staff were courteous and respectful. The washroom was clean. I can keep going on and on. The summary is that I had an amazing experience. Will definitely visit again.

Adam Eastman

Brutal experience this evening. Booked a movie online. it wasn’t obvious that some theatres were not VIP. But maybe that was a shame on me. Arrived, the “traditional” seats were very uncomfortable so we changed to a different movie in a VIP theatre. Seats were very limited because it was last minute. Got in an settled. Found out that 2 of the limited GF food items were not available because they had run out of main ingredients. Tried ordering 3 drinks. They were also out of ingredients for those…

Dor B

Clean, good access to parking (easy to validate). Friendly employees. Steep theatre so you don't have heads in the way.

Elizabeth “Liz” Breton

Location, perfectly convenient. Building, clean and modern. Theatres, comfortable and up-to-date. Staff....have a real stick up their you-know-what. Not all mind you, but one sour gentleman at the ticket booth left an impression on me and not a good one.

Neil Alexander

Great to be back at the movies with my Coke and hotdog combo. Had to ask the staff to turn down the deafening audio. Glad masks off for the movie !

Victor Mbao

I loved it very much. Great seats, great ambience. The front 3 rows should be avoided at all costs. You really stretch your neck to see the movie plus actors' shoes look bigger than their heads:-)

Sathish Kumar

Good cineplex

Konstantinos Gerolymatos

Theater was okay. Having to pay $10 fire parking was not okay.

John Murray

This is how a theatre experience should be. I watched Mad Max with friend in a VIP theatre and it was expensive, but well worth the coin. Having wait staff bring you your food was a joy. Not only that, but it's licensed! I asked for a rum & coke and man was it strong! I ended up dumping it in with my regular sized Coke and it was perfect. Their pub-style menu was decently priced. I had a buffalo wrap and enjoyed it very much. With the cushy reclining chairs and fold-out table for your food, it was a great experience and would definitely come back again! Only complaint is the blue light from the seats near the floor was rather glaring during the movie. But I got used to it after watching post-apocalyptic mayhem for a half hour. And foot rests would be nice.

Boop

Really pricey, but reasonable with how comfortable the seats, service, and food were. Seats recline back and you can let your legs stretch out. Before the movie started, you can order food and drinks without getting out of your seat, since there are employees standing on the side of the auditorium waiting your every need (except w/ the bathroom). Food was exceptional. There is a lot of variety you can choose from, and they come as huge servings. I ate the shrimp tacos and my friend ate the pulled pork poutine, and those were sooo delish (and let's not forget that strawberry cheesecake too ;) )! Popcorn's popcorn, so we enjoyed that throughout the film. Definitely try out the VIP experience, but only on special occassions, as it is very expensive compared to the general admission services.

Kathryn Desplanque

The tickets are so expensive but there is no leg room. I really mean it! The person in front of me leaned back and I had to manspread deeply to straddle him. He truly was sitting in my lap. I don't know if I'll go back here - can't afford it and can't afford to risk watching a movie in a yoga position!!!

Shaylah Marsh

I felt uncomfortable with the VIP date night experience, mainly the in seat service. I am disappointed that you can't order popcorn as an appetizer or dessert option, that's most of the reason you go to the movies! It's incredibly awkward having all the dishes at your seat throughout the whole movie as well. The tables are small and the dishes are quite large once you have more than one. It wasn't terribly clear where to order the food either. Our ticket said at concession but they clearly didn't have a kitchen. The table at my seat was stuck and would not slide out like the others. My seat was broken too. I wouldn't do it again.

Alyssa Gonzalez

I like the VIP service, even if the menu isn't adventurous enough for me.

Emma Schuster

Staff were personable and quick, theater was clean and nice. Great experience in person. The website however, was a bit of a nightmare in terms of booking tickets, but that is the corporation's fault, not the individual theatre's.

Roxanne Clément

Absolutely love the concept of an adult VIP movie theater. I usually don't go to see movies in theatres because I don't like the large crowds, but the small rooms with comfy seats make this a very nice experience when you want to catch one of the newly released titles. Nice selection of snacks and wine/drinks that you can carry back to your seat to enjoy. Definitely a fun date experience, plus its location in Landsdowne makes it easy to couple it with a nice dinner and/or drinks, as well as an easy place to get to through public transportation.

Brad Garner

VIP isn't really VIP and it is overpriced. You can't get served during the movie so there isn't much advantage to ordering at your seat before the movie. Who shows up early enough to sit down earlier just to have someone else bring you already expensive food and drinks then having to tip on top of that. And now that many other theaters have recliners and cheaper ticket costs there is no advantage of going to this theater.

James Scott

Not very VIP. If you have to eat dinner while you watch a film, it's a nice option but the seats don't truly recline and aren't that comfy. It was also very hot and I had a small part of the screen blocked by a hand railing on the stairs.

Steven Kalapos

While the location is very nice the setup of the cinema is a little lacking. At no fault of the staff the layout was unusual and had us second guessing ourselves. Once we got through the tight ticketing and concession lines the theater wasn't much better. It felt cramped at times and I was uncomfortable throughout the movie. When we left we didn't realize how we were supposed to validate our parking so we decided to pay as a line was forming behind us. Unfortunately this is the closest movie theater to us so we will be back. Hopefully seeing a more high profile movie will improve the experience.

Yoshuna

Be prepared for an expensive movie-going experience that isn’t really worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the place is very nice and clean. However, the food and drinks are not that impressive for the price, and larger reserved seats aren’t worth 24.99 each. Plan ahead at try to get discounts on Tuesdays, or get a Costco movie package for non-VIP. Having worked at more than one Cineplex in Ottawa and gone to almost all of the ones in Ottawa to watch movies, Lansdowne VIP is the most visually-pleasing one. Validated free parking for 3 hours is also great for a theatre close to downtown.

Jay Wolf

Overall I would like to rate this a 5 star but the cramped and inconvenient parking location brings it down a star. The VIP theatre is well equipped, the staff is fast and the seats quite comfy. The rest of the theatre is modern and maintained with adequate staff, albeit it can be slightly confusing your first time coming there.

Adam Trefry

D-box seats and the VIP seats are just so uncomfortable I will never go again, and I thought the VIP movie would have been IMAX but no it wasn't all that extra cost gets you is the ability to eat/drink in the VIP lounge area & have food and drinks brought to your comfortable seat up until the movie starts then you have to go to the lounge get stuff to bring to your seat and put it on this pull out tray attached to the seat. So I don't recommend

Robert Hawley

Cineplex VIP Landsdowne I would leave zero stars if I could. Ordered and paid $170 for food and drinks for four people at 6:03 pm. Moving started at 6:30. Food came about 7:15 with wings that were room temperature. Drinks finally came at about 7:30. Drinks were wrong and no one was around to correct. One was so badly made it was undrinkable. Manager Taylor W wouldn’t do anything for us as we paid with the Cineplex app. We were so looking forward to this first night at a movie since COVID started. Instead we feel robbed.

Brendan Butt

As one of the most p-like ps around, I have to tell you - I love this place. Grab a good bite to eat then check out a flick. What more do you want? An arcade? Fro-yo? You got it!

Spencer Collins

I went for the VIP experience 2 hours before the show. A poorly publicised soccer game ruined the experience. They would let non soccer patrons use the parking and we got there just at show time. The manager Fred was excellent and gave us 2 rain checks each. Recommendation never go to the Cineplex at TD stadium during one of their events.

Stoic Whistle

Unless you are going to fork out the extra for the vip seats or showings then go to a different theater, I unfortunately had to go see spider-man no way home , girlfriend had paid for regular viewing and it felt like I sat in a plastic chair the whole movie, I would have went to Gloucester instead.

Eric Wade

1. There's no option to speak ever actually speak to a human being by their posted phone number. I guess that saves the money not hiring someone for that. 2. I waited 5 minutes at the concession stand and nobody came to serve me so I walked off. 3. The service at the bar/restaurant on the third floor is especially terrible. I was the only customer in the whole place with 3 staff members just chatting at the bar including the bartender and waited about 10 minutes before someone came to serve me. Two staff members just walked right by me. And to make a second order there was actually no one visible in the entire place. I had practically yell for someone to come from the back room to see/hear me. Unbelievable.

Kyle Dunnett

Almost always a great experience. I can't write something negative about other movie goers in this review as it's out of Cineplex's control. Seating is comfortable and food and drink from the VIP service is surprisingly good for "movie theater" food.

Craig Isesele

Wow this place is smack dab in the middle of a lot of entertainment. Therefore you can easily eat too your fill and not need to partake in cinema food. However you should get some popcorn to support them. VIP >>>>> regular. Couldn't figure out if there were leg rests but still a very comfortable movie watching experience

Alexander (FatalXception)

Once you try the adults-only VIP Cinemas, you'll probably never go to a regular Cinema again. They're more expensive then regular movies, but I've found it's worth going a little less often to have a much better experience when I do go. Decent pub food, wine, or beer in the theater. Big Comfy reclining seats , and a giant screen make the VIP theaters the only place worth watching a movie in.

Sean Collins

A good Cineplex that feels upscale. Very well kept and the staff always seem very friendly and helpful. There is lots to do around here, so afterwords it's easy to get a bite to eat, walk around. My wife ordered a hot dog at a regular showing that wasn't going to be ready for a while, and an employee tracked us down and brought it to our seats.

Alex C

The VIP experience is very much enjoyable. The food was surprisingly good and priced fairly reasonably (especially compared to the popcorn). Show up early though since full service ends when the movie stars (you can still get up and get your own food though). Very comfortable seats, and the armrest goes up every other seat.

Mavis Top

Great place to go and see a movie, with normally good prices, though the food is a little expensive like most cinemas

ozan karakaya

The Manager Taylor W. took us out from the movie because he claimed that we had our masks off which we had to drink water which he said we are not allowed so i supposed we are supposed to sit 3 hours without water ?He was trying to catch us constantly and when I slipped my mask to drink a water he took us out. He then told us off for not knowing the rules and we told him it was just a sip of water. everyone is vaccinated and our whole row was empty.

Moe

Not worth it to pay vip

Allison Brown

VIP theater had good food and comfortable seats.

Catty J

Seats comfortable, not so close you have to rub elbows with your neighbor. VIP service seems efficient. Food cafeteria quality, small servings, overpriced. While watching the movie, the four green exit signs by the screen are on full bright throughout the movie... Distracting and casting a green glow onto the edges of the screen. Only one cup holder between the paired seats, so someone has to use their slide out table for their drink. When we went, the film didn't show in 3D, so we received a free pass each for another movie, which was nice, and will take the sting , a bit out of the costly experience.

Gal S

Best looking cinema in the region: well maintained, clean and with friendly staff. The VIP experience is unique as you get to be seated in very comfortable sofas and be served at your seat. Recommended for special dates. The food is ok, pricey for the quality or the looks, but hey, you are at a cinema being treated like royalty! :)

Tom

Did the VIP deal. Utterly fantastic. Treated like gold. Personal attention, first rate service and the lunch was fantastic. Quite surprising actually. If I could go for lunch there all the time I would. Very accommodating, very friendly staff, very comfortable (of course). The only way to see a movie!!! I will be back and I'll do it at least once a month.

Ali Collins

A wonderful VIP experience! The VIP theatres here are medium in size and the theatre areas are generally kept very clean. Friendly staff and some fun concessions. I love the layout of the place, and being within Lansdowne it makes it easy to grab a bite somewhere neat before or after your movie.

Nadia

Great experience! The VIP theatre could be a little more comfier. I understand they cant add reclining chairs due to the baristas running back and forth through. But it's something worth looking into. Everything else though was wonderful!

Sadiq “Trini” Jan

Great theatre.. friendly service..Easy access from underground parking plus they gave me free 3hrs parking.

Ian Johns

Nice theatre, great to have a beer but don't get the burger. They have no grill so all food is reheated. That works for nachos but not burgers. Still it's definitely worth it to go from time to time as a treat. Make sure you go early (30 minutes before start of movie) as they cannot take orders once the main movie starts. They can, however, deliver your order during the movie. I also like the fact the (individual) washrooms are just outside the door.

Abdou Nayel

The VIP experience is fun, the food is average, but the drinks are good and the seats are really comfortable! We had no trouble finding parking and there are lots of restaurants nearby. We love TD Place.

Michelle

Sanitary with nice staff :)

Jennifer Kazimer

It's a good place to catch a movie. Seats could be more plushy. Items on menu should be really made around it being movie food not a restaurant. They have to Remeber we are eating in the dark on tiny a** tables. Staff are always super nice.

Arun Kumar

My favorite movie theater in Ottawa. Clean and amazing service

Nikolaus Maack

Nice theatre. I find the VIP experience not worth the extra cash, but it is a nice theatre all around, VIP or not. Only quibble is that there's no direct indoor route from the parking garage to the theatre. It seems somewhat silly to have to go outside, walk around a corner, and then enter the movie theatre. Who designed this building? Still, have seen many films here, and it has always been pleasant. A fire alarm went off in the middle of Batman versus Superman. We all had to go stand outside for 10 minutes, then go back in. The theatre gave us free passes on our way out for the inconvenience. Class act.

mike lacroix

Vip experience was great

Drew Goodwin

Had back to back movie going experience after almost 2 years of no movies and it was amazing. Food service was great and their covid practices were well used. Theaters were very nice. They were the vip design ones.

Karim Mohamed

I really enjoyed the VIP experience. Sure it costs more, but the seats really are comfortable, and the service is nice. Nothing like having a beer at your seat. I would pay the extra just so I don't have to sit so close to a stranger while they munch loudly on popcorn. Tuesday specials are great.

Neil Costford

Don't go to VIP theaters unless you're cool with being unable to tolerate regular theaters forever after. Have a bite and a few drinks at the bar ten feet from your theater, then, when your server announces the ads and previews are over, …

Maj T

Great service and staff. Seats clean and food was good. Portions a little small, but I guess expected at movie cinema.

Keivan K

Ideal location for watch movies

Thomas Selwyn

Pretty good, seats could be better as not all auditoriums are the new seats.

Kevin Daly

Good: The seating and movie was great. Bring your parking stub into the theatre and they will validate 3 hours of free parking. Bad: We arrived 45 min prior to the show and say in the VIP lounge. After 20 min waiting I had to wave down a waitress to get a menu and drink. The staff were not familiar with the menu. 10 min prior to the movie we tried to go into the theatre but the it took close to 15 min to settle the bill.

Darlene Ransom

We couldn’t bring popcorn into the cinema, or drink in there. Not sure the price of VIP was worth it

Darlene Ransom

We couldn’t bring popcorn into the cinema, or drink in there. Not sure the price of VIP was worth it

Andrew Quanz

Very nice experience!

Demetri Papas

It’s expensive, people are loud and won’t go off their phones

Arman Kocharyan

Rude staff.

Marko

Staff yelled and kicked someone out of the movie because his mask unintentionally slipped below nose once. I was refused service when I wanted popcorn because of the new Covid rules. We can’t eat or drink, on top of that they pop in to yell at anyone who’s mask slips down one cm every 5 minutes interrupting the movie. Worst experience ever, I left the movie mid way because of the interruptions they were causing.

Adela Smith

Clean and comfortable with a good sound system. Food and drinks from cafe bar can be taken in to the theatre. Licenced.

Zathe Xandar

Great cinema overall. Good location and lots of space in the theaters.

Dylan O'Hara

Nice theather in a nice location. Love the VIP and D-Box seats! Other than that, its just your regular theater.

T.

VIP seats are so uncomfortable where the middle armrest, when lifted, sticks out and isn't level with the seats and hard as a rock. The seats don't recline much at all. Landmark Premiere seats are way better. There was also a group of 5 sitting close to us who moved outside their designated seats since there's an automatic 2 seat block out from the next viewers and they ended up being just 1 seat apart from other people. Staff didn't bother talking to them about it when they served them their food. Meanwhile, the couple beside us kept sneezing. Was eager to see a movie in theatres but won't be back until the pandemic numbers are better.

Bought tickets online once and drove up just to find out it was a RedBlack's game so we wouldn't be admitted in to the parking garage. We circled for a half hour looking for parking before just calling customer service and getting a refund. Definitely checking the sport schedule before opting for this theater in the future. Otherwise, it's nice enough for a city cinema

Zacharia Mandara

I enjoy the place first time. I you can drink or eat while watching your nice movie just perfect for someone like me.

Baseet Hameed

VIP tickets are worth it! The food is good but it's easy to run up a large bill. Clean, comfortable seats and friendly staff. Great for dinner and a movie date night.

NightHawk NGC

Honestly, my experience at Cineplex Lansdown was mediocre at best... You can tell the people working there didnt want to be there and didnt look happy. Was not worth the two tickets I paid $16 each. I really found the volume in the theater was really low a d dirty. The movie was good but the theater was not.

james diamond

Modern yet already looking old inside. Nice to be able to buy a drink for adults. Location offers a lot of food and drink nearby.

Ivy Blackmore

Excellent customer experience. Comfy seats, pre-movie bar and lounge, in-seat food service before the film. Food and drinks were solid, not amazing but not boring. Servers were polite, food came promptly after order. Theater was spacious, and they don't pack it - which means fewer people squeezing past you and a quieter theater overall. Pricey, but absolutely worth it for movies you really want to make special.

The Duncans

Theatre itself is fine, but leave yourself plenty of time to find parking especially if something is going on. We arrived 40 minutes prior to our movie, lined up to get into the underground lot only to be told it was full. We then drove around for 20 minutes struggling to find street parking. Once we did, it was a good 10-12 minute walk back to the theatre and we arrived with only 6 minutes to spare. Pack your patience!

Justin Andrews

Nice facility, 3-hours free parking if you get your parking stub validated, the VIP experience will ruin you for general admission. Numbered seats mean you don't have to camp out for seats. Lots of theaters. Typical theater fare and prices for food.

Daniel Lee

Always have a good time at the arcade or for a movie, its a big place ! We tried the VIP service once and was happy with the service but i know i woulnd't botter in a busy time. Must be hard to serve with lots of people. The staff doesnt look happy to be there....I would investigate that

Adam Saint

Of course tickets are a bit more.. and only thre theaters in the vip... it's actually a great way to see a movie with good food as well and a drink.. good experience. I with there menu was a little friendlier for those trying to watch what they eat though.

Omar Guechtal

Great theater. Terrible parking

Sebas Lalonde

When we bought our tickets all seats were available. Therefore we chose the best one available. When we got there the very rude emoyee moved us from our seat. Few minutes before the movie started she gave away our seat. When i asked her why, she said she had to shuffle people around. Her suffle made no sense. When we were sitting we were told no water bottles were allowed . My girlfriend stored it ....half hour into the movie the employee comes back with security saying i had my mask down the whole time, which was untrue. I maybe brought it down to my nose onece or twice as this waa a 3D mocie and the glasses got foggy from time to time....she wouldn't have it and kicked us out.... Felt so baffled by all of this ..horrible experience

Evan Runge

Love going to this cinema. I like the location, it’s new and clean and has 3 levels.

Kyle Kortelainen

Try the VIP theatre for a real treat! There's nothing like being brought food and a cocktail to a huge comfy theatre chair while seeing a new movie! And if the movie fare doesn't do it for you, there are a few other restaurants right next door that are good.

Chris Lawson

It’s where you have to go to see stuff on a big screen. The physical space looks run down and a bit grimy. But the people are nice enough and they are doing really well with the whole vaccine mandate thing.

Zacharia Mandara

I enjoy the place first time. I you can drink or eat while watching your nice movie just perfect for someone like me.

Jason Reeson

The theatre is pretty awesome. There was only one person working the ticket desk which was kind of annoying considering it was 6:30pm on a Tuesday (half price night) and I had planned on paying cash. Our movie was only playing in the VIP theatre. It was a pretty cool experience, not sure if it is worth double the ticket price though. Nice for once in a while. Ordering concessions from your seat was cool. If you are not going to get any concessions I wouldn't recommend the VIP theatre.

賴聖暉

The seat was comfortable and the service was great. The ticket price definitely worths and food was not expensive in there. My brother and I had a great time

Jeff R

The VIP cinemas were ground-breaking when they first came out, and still offer a great experience for both eating and drinking (especially alcohol) before a movie. However, standard theatre seating has now far surpassed the VIP seating... It has less legroom than most standard screens at Cineplex theatres, and even the seats don't recline as much (nor do they have foot rests). Also, you can't get a beverage refill once the movie starts, any more. Service is great, but I think they need to redo the seats to have a real premium experience.

Chris Lee

Going to the VIP cinema costs more but is worth it! Big seats. Good food menu with alcohol, all served by a waiter. A better movie-going experience.

Dan Krywenky

VIP movie going is the way to do it. With underground parking it is relatively easy getting in and out of Lansdowne. Staff are great, food and drink come fast. If you're doing VIP, be there a half hour early to take advantage of the pubfare and lounge before the movie.

Devin P

Great experience, good food. Surprisingly cheap when you think of going to another restaurant...yet this one included a movie. Good deal!

balasan

This can be expensive but it's a great place to go for a date! Large comfortable seats that recline a little, no kids, and friendly professional wait staff on site. The food is decent and of course you can have alcohol. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with real wine tumblers, not plastic or paper cups. Wait service is only available until about 5 minutes before the movie, after that one needs to leave the theatre to purchase food and drinks. We saw Guardians of the Galaxy in 3D and the picture and sound quality is excellent even if the movie itself was silly.

Oopik Aglukark

The seats are huge and ours couldn't recline so my feet just hung unnaturally for two and a half hours. I felt all numb and stiff and sore afterwards. 0/10 would recomend

David Roberts

Nice theatre. VIP is a real beauty but expensive! Not too sure why the elevator comes up from the parking outside?! Strange mistake in the design I guess. Prime is a better result for reserved seating. Not too sure if beer in my seat is that important either.

Diana Nguyen

Nice theater in a very busy district. The chairs are very comfortable. You can lift up the arm rest so you can cuddle with your partner just like you were at home. After a movie you can grab a coffee or dessert at cacao 70

Ruben Alimasi

VIP isn't really worth it. Much more of a bar with a movie screening than watching a movie with waiting service. You basically have to order everything at the start or get up and go order your food yourself for them to come serve you during the movie. Also, they conveniently place a bar lounge right outside the show rooms for you to order some more and do chit chat. I really think it is cinema theatres attempt at finally embracing what they were from the start: a snack and food business... That's sad because VIP could've been so much more.

Chris Moor

Arrived at 6:15 for a 7:30 showing. We were greeted and given menus quickly but by the time the waitress showed up again to take our order it was 6:45. She apologized saying it was busier than expected. We decided to order in seat service instead as our theatre was open. I ordered a drink which took another 10 min to get to the table. The waitress felt bad and comped us free popcorn which was nice. We ordered in seat and service was still slow but did arrive before the movie started. As it was my wifes birthday the waiter in the theatre offered her free cake. Unfortunately it never arrived however a different waiter did try and give cake to the people next to us which they said wasn't theirs. Overall customer service failures that shouldn't happen did. Not quite VIP service for VIP pricing.

Peter Lalonde

Best place to watch a movie, have a beer and stroll around Landsdown park.

Seeing the world In a different way

One of the best and most comfortable places to experience watching and listening to a movie in Ottawa is at the Cineplex Cinemas at Lansdowne park. There are several theatres within the complex so you can select your favorite movie and choose either up scale or ultra up scale VIP seats. The ultra upscale VIP seats are well padded and recline almost like a bed. These premium seats do come at a premuim price. But it is fun to treat yourself once in a while. If you like my reviews, videos or photos give them alight camera action thumbs up

Jen

I love the VIP theatre. Expensive but worth going to when it is a great movie.

Jen

I love the VIP theatre. Expensive but worth going to when it is a great movie.

Got Dat Dump

I am a big, big, BIG fan of Adam Sandler and HOLY MOLY it's always a treat to see him on the big screen at this Cineplex :)

Alain Belair

Just got back from football night and I must say it was fun. Great comfortable seats, good and fast service. Beer and food served at your chair! I enjoyed it.

rakshit mitra

Well maintained

Colette Rees

Going to the theater during covid19 is definitely a different experience! Make sure you have your vaccination QR code and ID as per covid19 protocols. The theater was unable to sell food or drinks so that's kind of a disappointment but not their fault, all due to covid19 restrictions. There are big, comfy seats that recline and tons of leg room! Biggest plus for me was the cleanliness, awesome ????

Rebecca Roy

My husband and I love coming here for date night. The staff are prompt, food is excellent, and drinks are unique and delicious. Well worth the price. However. We went last night to see the new Jumanji for NYE. It seems like the staff were very unprepared for the evening. There was not enough staff for the in seat service, they ran out out of glassware for cocktails, our food came after the movie started, we had to wait forever for the food and drinks. It was really disappointing because we usually have such a great time. Compared to last year when we came here for NYE, it was a very different experience. Last year, the staff was amazing, food and drinks were on time, and it was up to the usual perfect standard. I'm hoping that last night was just a fluke.

Tali Thompson

Lovely VIP section with fantastic employees. The tickets and food are a little expensive, but the experience is very good with clean bathrooms, comfortable seats and lots of distance between patrons.

JennMark MarkJenn

Totally fun place to see a movie! Great location for a date night movie experience as well as an afternoon matinee. Clean, up to date theatre experience. The best thing is the VIP service. Nothing bad to say about that, I may never go to a general admission movie again. Also, try the DBox at least once. Pick a good action movie and have fun getting tossed around in the motion seat with rumbling sound. Best place in Ottawa to see movies!

ton

Intimate.

Nilay Joshi

Theater is great but they really need to alot more time for parking... especially for the movies that run more than 2 hours.

Awatto Evalu

I attended the VIP cinema. I ate at the rooftop bar/lounge and service was very minimal and a bit disappointing. I had the original burger, fries & popcorn shrimp and it was very bland but I like the idea of "Popcorn Shrimp" actually just being fried shrimp and popcorn mixed together in a bowl. Bathrooms are nice, roomy and private. It's definitely overpriced but that is the case with all cinemas nowadays.

Darshil Vora

Nice sound system. But seats are not that comfy.

Mathieu Provost

Dinner and a movie? Why not dinner while watching the movie! Beer in hand and food served just before it starts. What a great experience. Highly recommended for movie lovers and food lovers!

Micheline Provick

Wine with movie great! Salad although the actual salad wasn't bad the chicken provided with it was beyond gross. It was ice cold and kind of rubbery in texture. Precooked cold pressed chicken on a salad not worth the price. I would go back get the wine, skip the food even without the recliners.

Celine Toth

Great place for a night out with parent/ significant other! Staff definately make you feel VIP and like a superstar. Serve you food and alcohol right up until the movie starts which is cool. Seats were rather uncomfortable compared to other Cineplex locations and were a tad cramped due to large arm rests that converted into tray tables for your food. Otherwise exactly like all other movie theaters these days!

Shawn Todd

Enjoyed the VIP theatre. Have gone many times, but last few times have noticed the food quality is slipping. I hope they can adjust - as the premium pricing is fine, if the food and the experience is top shelf. I'm loyal, and will hang in there, but of there isn't a change here, it could effect how I feel about this experience.

FilmGamer

I went to see Spectre, the staff seemed courteous. The layout is peaceful and fancy. The downside is the distracting bright green exit lights in the cinema that are on in the theatre. They should switch to a less intrusive yet visible colour like red. I sat in the aisle which has a good view of the screen like all seats there but the green lights my eye picks up on gave me a headache during the film. The rest of the lights are fine. A change in colour might help though.

J. Bass

Great place, not too busy. I've been here several times and have never had any issues. A good place to take a good friend but not a group. It's pretty pricey. I haven't been to the VIP part but I assume it's the same as the one in Toronto. The seats in the general theaters are nice and comfy.

Ravi J

Really nice movie theatre. They have all kinds of food selection, but if you want to get into the theatres that serve food and alcohol you have to be 19 even if you just want food. Seats are comfortable, but don't recline as much as the ones at Silver city. Apparently there's a way to get validated parking, but they don't make it very clear how, so you may have to pay out of pocket for it.

Mildred Black

Niche movies and a well stocked snacks and drink bar. The cine. As themselves are intimate and comfy.

Sam. H.

Pretty great theater. The lobby has plenty of food and activities. The building is very clean. The movie watching experience was great. Only downside is that, the theater that I was in had out of date chairs the were a bit close and uncomfortable. Other than the chairs, this is a great theater.

Josh Bauer

I haven't been to the theatres since Covid-19 hit, when I used to go nearly every week. I looked forward to going again and when they advertised strict protocols such as vaccination status checks prior to entry, I felt comfortable going to the VIP to see Shang-Li. Very sad to say this was completely false. At no point in time was I checked for vaccination status or even my ticket! There was no attendant to check in with at the entrance to the VIP, and it just generally felt unsafe. It was anxiety inducing and very frustrating to see one thing being advertised and seeing the complete opposite when I actually arrived. Please get your stuff together, Cineplex, and take public health a bit more seriously.

Stefan Paquette

Great theater. Centrally located and with lots of "after movie" options!

Emma Schuster

Staff were personable and quick, theater was clean and nice. Great experience in person. The website however, was a bit of a nightmare in terms of booking tickets, but that is the corporation's fault, not the individual theatre's.

Alexis J-Diaz

I really like this theatre it's nice and big as well as the seats are cool

James Healey

Always a great experience in VIP. But the wider seats for COVID makes it a relaxing and safe experience

Laura Mahmoud

Nico and Mark at cineplex lansdowne made our movie experience 10x better. Give these two boys a raise. Now.

dane vanderkooi

Absolute disaster, me and my girlfriend went to go see a movie in the VIP cinema where we were both promptly asked for ID, having never been IDd before to see a movie we did not have photo ID but did have government ID without a photo which was promptly refused, even insisting that we did not want to drink and that we only wanted to see a movie we were ultimately refused. The make matter worse the the manager of the VIP cinema was extremely rude about it and would not accept bank cards and even a photo of a passport, we just wanted to see the movie. The policy is utterly beyond logic and should be adjusted in order to accommodate basic common sense. It would make sense if we wanted to order drinks but being promptly denied to even simply watch the movie is beyond unreasonable and flat out absurd. I hope a manager with a IQ above 100 is able to see this review so that they may change this ridiculous policy and hopefully instruct their supervisors on how to actually provide decent customer service. Will not returning to this theater anytime soon.

Maha Adel

An excellent theater in Ottawa. The VIP section is wonderful and the staff are always friendly. The food is not too bad either. One of the cleanest theatres in Ottawa too.

Alex Rudolph

I always enjoy coming to this theater due to the friendly staff and good seating. The VIP food isn't the greatest, but it is the convenience that they're selling with the alcohol. Really the best selling factor of VIP is the 18+, not even the food or alcohol, which is just a bonus. Any complaints about the parking shouldn't be blamed on Cineplex or this theater, they have no control over it and you should plan ahead as Lansdowne is a busy place. The bus stop gets off right at Lansdowne, which is recommended instead.

Trevor Vautour

Great food. And great service. Recommend going here for a fantastic date night. Only negative is it's a bit pricy.

André Tremblay

Their reservation system is flawed. We couldn't have access even if there was plenty of places.

Jedi Uddin

Movie experience was good. However, seats were broken and had to get a change of seats. Only to find the next ones broken too (electronic tilt wouldn't work)

komar sona

The VIP isn't worth the price, Why? First, I ordered some drinks and the drinks never arrived I had to go the bar myself and request that the drinks be delivered, told me to wait and that someone will get it, waited and they never did, 1 hour and a half into the movie I go there again and request the drinks once more, finally, I get my slush I drank my strawberry slush more than HALFWAY through the movie with no food on the side. This incident made me hate the VIP and regret tipping and spending money on VIP when I could get better hospitality and service at home or simply the normal section and the vip. ALSO, the seat adjustment is extremely lame it barely even moves 3 inches. Generally, Cineplex Lansdowne is only good if you aren't going to the VIP.

Jenna Allison

Arcade isn't as big as the cineplex on carling which is lame but still a cool theater to go to if your over 19!

Michael Killam

We went to the VIP theater and it was pretty nice. More roomy than a standard theater, but still no more room to walk along the row. The seat back tilts about as much as an airplane seat does. The arm rests are at different heights to allow for food placement on one with an enlarged arm rest area. You can have food and drinks ordered to your seat prior to the movie. Overall the experience was decent, but you may also have to pay for parking. I'd recommend another movie theater that has less traffic and free parking if you're traveling by car. By foot or public transit is a good option for this area.

Lux Erus

Did the VIP experience for Star Wars RoS and it wasn't worth it. Restaurant service was super slow and they brought the wrong order so that I couldn't eat with my wife and ended up having to finish my burger in the theater. The theater itself isn't that special when you compare to the Cineplex on Carling which also has nice recliner seats. We were brought popcorn to our seat and got to finish our drink there - doesn't make it worth the exaggerated price of VIP tickets. Oh, and they can give you a free parking voucher (although it doesn't cover long enough if it's a longer movie and you arrive early). Still, I'd rather go to a Cineplex with plenty of parking since I find no reason to pay more and go to this one.

John H.

Great, clean theatre with friendly staff. The location is great if you wanted to grab food/drinks before or after a movie.

Esdras Nimubona

Best place ever supper clean and awesome

ME GG

No foot rests. Best to pay regular prices and go to newer theaters. Food only arrived once movie started. Very annoying.

Fern Bibby

Great to get back to the movies

IRISH

Use to be worth it, not so much anymore. Becoming rundown, seats so longer provide the foot rest elevator they use to for some reason, making it less comfortable and the food service is atrocious. Theater only half full and serving staff seemed overwhelmed bringing orders to wrong seats and in our case order didn't come without a trip, during the movie, to see what happened. Would no longer recommend this venue.

Adrian Pelin

This place used to be fantastic, well worth five stars... but something happened recently. It's twice now that we order something at VIP and it never got delivered until I went during movie time to inquire about it 20 min later... Overall few staff members working there seem like they care anymore. Not sure what happened, but it used to be a favorite spot.

Karina Burgess

I was in the VIP section and the movie was WAY too loud. I feel like I got permanent damage from it. Please turn the volume just a little bit down so people don't have to plug their ears for the last hour of the film. I wish I just rented the movie on YouTube, it would've been a more pleasurable experience.

ron sadler

Its so great to be able to enjoy a VIP experience movie again. Despite the trying times we currently live in, the staff did an amazing job!! ???? The whole experience was 5 star!

Mohamad Adghim

There are a lot of popcorn options and also the prices are affordable I guess. It has a great location close to bus stops. And there are varieties of restaurants around where you can have a lovely dinner.

nadia

The area around is nice and all new. We went there 2 times now choosing VIP tickets at the movies. I really recommend it. You can go there ahead of time have a drink and eat something. The menu suggested was way more rafine than expected. I thought it would have been simple and very basic, like nacho and popcorn. Instead, it was closer to what you'll find in a restaurant like moxies, for example. The staff is very nice, fun, engaging with clients. The atmosphere was very friendly. At your seat you also have someone serving you. A nice detail that I liked is that beer comes in a glass not in a plastic cup. Also there is a 3 hours parking refund when you go as VIP. Overall, it's definitly a go for it, mostly if you want a different experience.

Sachini

VIP was the best experience! It’s totally worth it!

Ebenezer Laryea

Very nice theatre. Enjoyed the movie and sound effects

Jean-Francois Labelle

Nice place but need to ask a lot of question to find out how it works and what movies is on. Got "sent" their website for more info... I guess I'm officially old now because I rather ask a human being instead of Google... ;) Besides that very nice experience.

Annie

Loved the ambience

Dawn Green

Clean, very good food in the VIP lounge and amazing fishbowl drinks!

Ashley Udechukwu

Always a good time !

Thomas S

The VIP theater is worth every Dollar. Excellent service & great ambiance. They should have coat check in the winter time that is included in the Fee of the movie... That is VIP. Parking underground can be very hectic. Make sure not to go when there is a game or major event going on. They block the parking lot entrance for people going to the TD Place Stadium. This happen to my wife and I had to park 10 minutes away in the winter time and it was -20*C. I was dressed for it as i planned to simply hope in and out of my vehicle.

Angela Williams

This is a really nice theatre - fun location in Lansdowne park near shopping and restaurants. Theatre will credit 3 hours worth of parking. VIP theatre is a really nice experience. Big comfy chairs and food and cocktails brought to you right in the theatre. Love it!

Hana Dib

Big & nice place,, good prices,, sweet works,, and different movies ????????????

Nada Zabib

Nice theatre.. VIP experience is pretty cool. Having food and beverages brought to your seat is a neat idea. However the seats are super uncomfortable. They barely recline unless you're sitting in the very front row. But if you sit in the front it's way too close to the screen that you will have to keep your head tilted up. Food is delicious, I recommend the chicken sliders.

G DS

Very easy to find cinema in a very popular location. Easy to find where to go inside, lots of parking I. The area. Staff were nice and th VIP bar is great for adult only trips. It has now been a year later since my first review and this remains my favourite movie theater in Ottawa

Joon S

First time watching a film in the VIP theater. I would suggest showing up 30min before the film if food and drinks in the theater is what you are looking for. Even earlier if you want to make use of the lounge area. Important: Don't forget to show your scene member card to receive 10% off! Extensive menu for food and drinks is a plus. Private bathrooms is also very nice. If booking reserved seats, the back 2 rows in the theater I was in (theater 3) were perfect viewing distance. Center viewing seats were #9-10 , you also get a bar foot rest ( Row i) as you don't have any seats directly in front of you. Overall a decent experience, but I would personally stick with the AVX 3D experience as the love seats and leather chairs didn't quite warrant the price difference. Perhaps Tuesday when it's cheaper is best.

David Merino

I'm not a big movie guy, so when two people pay $90 to watch a movie and get two apps I feel something not unlike regret. Having said that, the seats and aisles are spacious enough that all 6'2" of me could recline and stretch my legs out. The food was really about as good as I could have hoped for, especially considering they're not known for quality dining. Everything was clean. Parking validated for 3 hours - enough to see Aquaman.

Steven Booth

For how busy it is, there is one way in and out. Felt super crowded. I am old. I hate crowds. Also 10 dollars for a tall boy is silly. Movie food prices have always been and will always be silly. Theater was clean. Staff was friendly. Just a bad layout.

Shaunna Kent

I'm impressed! The staff were courteous, the milkshakes that we bought were out of this world good (and fairly priced since they were huge). However many of the prices are a little high for my liking but not unlike any restaurant with the exception of most of the drinks, they were very expensive. The seats were neat but not nearly as comfortable as they look. There seemed to be some sort of lumbar support which wasn't working for me and I could not seem to figure out how to adjust it. They're a bit hard and the elbow rests were a bit high for my frame (5'9"). The whole experience of going to a movie theater with no kids, being able to get a glass of water as you would at home and having the option of food is nice. It seems like the higher price tag keeps the people who text or talk away since, at that price, it's an expensive film to text through. Otherwise, it may just have been the angle of the seats that kept us from seeing people texting below.

Riley Smith

The Landsdowne Cinemas are great! Really clean, and the arcade games are really nice. Parking was a little bit hard to find, but once there it was rather easy to find a spot. VIP is great and worth the extra few bucks. Layout is a little bit odd, but has never really impacted the experience. Arguably the nicest Cineplex in Ottawa.

Chris Tom

Its an okay theater, no huge screens and the seats are meh. The best part of it is that its in landsdown and a nice little night out.

Chris Tom

Andrew MacNeill

We had very high expectations. Our local theatre (Kanata) is great (recliners everywhere) but had thought the Cineplex Landsdowne would blow everything away. Sadly no. Seat options are NOT clearly identified - not everything is a recliner even when paying a premium. VIP not always available when booking online - even though it becomes available later. Regular seats are typical theatre - not comfortable. Underground parking - yeah! $14 / price tag. meh. Supposedly they validate - but you wouldn't know it during the experience. Concessions - very small and basic low- theatre quality (my popcorn was blah and the choice of food was left to a hot dog). While the VIP may include a lounge, service isn't that welcoming and you have to wonder how long it would take to get a meat. Sound and Visuals - they were good. I think the standard these days is pretty high so nothing unexpected there. The best part were the wall shots (photographs) that made it feel like you were in a viewing room. Really nice. But no we won't be going back there when our local Landmark theatre experience is superior.

Stella ZJ

My favorite place for watching a movie !Very clean and bright . It has 3 floors and Vip is really nice. Just saying that VIP might good for movies that not too much CG I guess. Since you might need a larger screen . Or maybe I am wrong ????It is located on a nice street . They have good places to shop near by also if you are visitors in Ottawa. Come in summer! It is a great place for spending time in Ottawa!

Justin B

Went to the VIP for Star Wars. We were in cinema 3 and all the reclining mechanisms were broken. The seats have two buttons for reclining, one for the back and one for the foot rest, both were completely broken. The server working there …

Jeff Cameron

Foods pretty good. I'm a tall fella so I really enjoy the. Leg room and big seats. Great to do a date night at this theatre as you are able to push up the middle part for a bit more intimacy.

Ann Marie Quinlan

I went to the vip section tonight and it was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. The service by the staff was great absolutely no complaints there but the food was terrible our burgers were dry and tasted like rubber. Also way to overpriced for what you got. There are a number of restaurants around that location i would advise people to eat at one of those if your hungry. The chairs were not that comfortable in vip. Every chair should be recliner and they are not. I will not be returning as it cost us close to $200 between tickets food and a few drinks it was a waste of money.

Jane Doe

This is my favourite cinema in Ottawa. I love the VIP theatre- their food is really good and it is a great experience. I have not yet tried the regular theatre seats here.

Trish Smith

Loved the experience! Saw the new Star Wars in the seats that move. Really adds another dimension to watching a movie!!

Natasha Saikali

My friend and I went to the Cineplex for the VIP experience, and there were certainly pros and cons. The seats were particularly comfortable, to which I particularly realized as I returned to a regular cinema the other day. And of course it was rather neat that you could order food and alcohol (although, be warned, you cannot order once the movie has started.) Also, I was slightly disappointed by the limited selection of gourmet popcorn (which you can get on the main level) for order in the VIP theatre. One of the major drawbacks for me was that the menu was not good for vegetarians such as myself. This may lead to me not returning for this particular experience.

Laura Denley

The seating is fantastic, there are a limited number of seats in a medium size theatre. It's very comfortable, and the location is central. The underground parking is convenient, unless you happen to go during an event at TD Place. The lounge has a great atmosphere, but the service is somewhat slow and the food is terrible. I ordered a salad with shrimp. The shrimp was disgusting, it was very cold, almost still frozen. It was obviously thawed from a bag and added to the salad without any attempt to season or heat. They offered to replace it with chicken, which was equally crappy. The chicken was dry, cold and unseasoned. Service stops when the movie starts, which I appreciate. I would suggest getting a meal before arriving, enjoy drinks while you wait for the movie, order snacks or drinks from your comfy, reclining seat in the theatre, and bask in the absence of children and teenagers.

Alexandra Shalakhova

Lansdowne Cinema is nice. Great location to have a date as there is plenty of good food places nearby. Don't forget to validate your parking. (I didn't know it was free within a certain time limit for the movies the first time I went). On the other side, I found VIP experience a bit overhyped than what it really is and seats a bit uncomfortable as you can't really put your feet up and you are stuck in an awkward position if you decided to put your chair down (at least where I was sitting). For this reason I prefer the Carling Cinema reclining seats- general admission seats there are cheaper and much more comfortable than VIP seats at Lansdowne. The staff are nice and bring your food to you in the VIP. Menu selection is pretty good.

Flank Tacker

My favourite movie theatre in Ottawa!

ליאור איזנפלד

very nice movie theater

Alex Mason

The VIP theatre was not as nice as I had hoped. The theatre and screen were both small. The seats were comfortable, but now most of their theatres have recliners seats in them, so it's less of a big deal. The food looked nice but was being sold at extravagant theatre prices so I avoided it. There's something about the person in the seat next to you loudly eating tacos and hot wings that takes away from the overall experience.

Cara

I went to a VIP movie and dinner experience. It was my first time going so I didn't know they validated your parking for 3 hours and I had to go back and get my ticket from the car. We decided to eat in the theater. One thing I didn't like it that when you purchase the movie and supper deal you have a limited menu. I had looked at the menu beforehand so I didn't like this. I would have gladly paid a bit extra to be able to pick different menu options. The food was very good though and quick to come out. But I don't like that the appetizer, entree and dessert all come at once. And then no one takes the dishes away. So I had dishes all around me the whole movie. And the dishes of the person beside me. So you felt you couldn't move the whole time. And only 1 drink holder for 2 people. If I went again I would eat first outside the theater. Also I am used to the seats that recline so I was disappointed these seats do not. It was a good experience but I think a few changes could be made to make it more enjoyable. Overall a decent experience.

Greg Hughes

Their chicken tacos were lettuce tacos woth reheated chicken. For a premium service it's pretty laughable. When they first opened, it was actually quite nice, but it has gone considerably downhill. AVOID! There are ten good restaurants nearby that serve better cheaper food and aren't snarky about service.

Anthony Quinn

Not terrible... but honestly not great. Landmark has far more comfortable seating and better selections for a far better price. The chairs for the VIP theater don't recline more than 2 inches and have very limited space for any drinks or food. Actually entering the theater was a terrible experience. Between the entrance and the actual theater we ran into no staff, even to scan our tickets. On a positive note, the age restriction was nice. There was no noise at all during the movie.

Chris Andersen

Purchased the VIP tickets. Not worth it. Sure, it's nice to be able to have an alcoholic beverage and a meal delivered to you seat but the quality of the meal was average at best and it's awkward trying to eat off of the slide out tray. The leather seats are okay and recline.... But only a little bit. Example would be like the recline feature on a plane. Your better off saving your money and go to a restaurant prior to the movie.

Kim Young

I watched Star Wars in 3D in the VIP section. That was great. Parking is terrible though. They say they validate your parking but by the time I got out of the theatre I had to pay for being 5 mins after the 3hrs that they give you. I had to back up and go to the pay station. So embarrassing. So you pretty much have to hurry back to your car if your movie is more than 2hrs or you get charged. So ridiculous.

Andrew Gudgeon

Best theater for location and quality.

Brendan

Awesome theater! Clean, great service and location. Has validated parking for 3 hours. Had my first VIP movie experience here and loved it. Been here a couple times. One time we had some issues with our viewing but the entire audience recieved great compensation to rectify the problem. Will definitely be back!

David Wilson

Great place to enjoy a movie in whatever format you like (HD , 3D..). The facility also serves food and drinks at your seat prior to the start of the movie.. A wonderful movie location..

Stuart Marshall

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Truly amazing experience would definitely recommend it and the VIP experience is truly worth the money. My date got the wrong order delivered to our seat and once the staff member discovered ( don’t know his name but he was quite tall, skinny fellow maybe in his mid to late twenties with shortish blonde/brown hair) he was exceptional in replacing the order very promptly as well as apologizing for the mixup and assuring us he would handle it as fast as possible. Less than 6 minutes later my date had her original order placed, hot and fresh right in front of her.

Christophe N

Incredible cinema experience. Went to see SpiderMan with my gf

Christina Nouwens

Seats are comfy. Food is good. Drinks were amazing. And prices were decent. The servers were nice

Kita C

I was very excited to try the VIP experience for the very first time. We went to watch Star Wars and arrived 15-20 minutes early so we can order food and drinks in the theatre. They had two attendants taking orders and one of them was doing all the work while the other one chatted with someone the whole time. I ordered a Green Goddess Beyond Meat burger that was suppose to have a goddess aioli sauce. Instead I got the other beyond meat burger on the menu that had ketchup and mustard. I asked twice while ordered to be sure they had the Goddess burger because I HATE mustard. I tried scraping it off, but all I had was a French fry. After finishing our food and our first drink we looked around for someone to order more drinks from, but there was no one around. We were told we can order more drinks from the theatre throughout the film. We had to leave the theatre to get a new drink. Our seats also didn’t go back, I’m not sure what the purpose of the recliner button if we can’t recline. We had validated our parking at the begging but still had to pay $2 in parking before leaving. Overall I’m not very fond of the experience. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

J.

VIP experience was great! Food was above what I expected for theatre food! 4 of us shared a pitcher of the red sangria which was also very good. The cauliflower bites were particularly surprising! Only downside is that it would be great if the lounger had a footrest when it reclined.

Dakota Joe Whiteduck (Duckie005)

Always a great experience here espically if you’re seeing a movie in the VIP section.

ceren sanli

Manager pulled us out of the movie claiming that our masks were too low when we were just unaware and watching the movie. You are entitled to a refund if this happens to you

Kevin Jackson

Fun place to go see a movie. Vip is even better. Worth the trip.

Carrie Kristal-Schroder

It's hard to go back to a regular theatre after VIP. There's a fairly extensive menu, including wine and beer (and spirits, I think). They serve you at your seat (the backs recline). They have vegetarian poutine, which I got without the cheese curds and they are quite ????

Monica Mondor

Clean, stylish, and comfortable. Love it guys. Keep up the good work!

Rebecca Deatcher

Amazing service. Had such a great experience. The manager Tony helped us resolve an issue we had with tickets effortlessly so we were able to have a very enjoyable evening. We also went upstairs to the VIP lounge and the sever Taylor was AMAZING. So friendly, felt like we were hanging out with our friend. We love VIP lansdowne and would recommend this experience to anyone!

Ben Cooper

Only been to the VIP theatre. An excellent movie experience. Seats are wide, comfy and recline. Table service of decent pub fare until the show starts. Sound and picture quality are top shelf. Expensive but worth it as a treat every once in a while.

Jenny Martin

I found my experience great. The seats were so comfortable (yeah, no restless leg syndrome). It was really nice to have an alcoholic beverage on a Saturday afternoon.

Yhanvi Holm

Very good. Might put more gravy on the poutine

Victor Carter

Tbh, the calamari was surprising good! The nachos were nachos. I’m not big on nachos but my friend is. The VIP dining area is pretty cool. Big Screens. First theatre I’ve been in with 3 levels, kinda cool. Excited to go watch Venom in 3D!

Lisa H

The seats were uncomfortable and cramped and the theatre had a strange layout. You basically have to push through everyone in the snack line to get to the last 2 theatres. They do validate your parking, which is nice, but not nice enough to come back. I'll drive out to Landmark where there is ample leg room and reclining seats.

Jack MacDonald

This review is about Cineplex customer service. If zero stars were available, that’s what they would get. The customer service of this company is non-existent. Multiple unanswered emails and hours and hours of waiting on the phone and no one ever answers. The online “chat” function just says “no representatives are available at the moment”. So, in an era when there are lots of options for movies, including competitor cinemas and online streaming - I see Cineplex being the next Blockbuster. Avoid this company. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Eric Orser

We didn't splurge and see a movie in the VIP theatre and that definitely effected my rating. The theatre we were in had the old style chairs that had a bit of manual recline and felt quite crowded compared to the power recliners in all of the local theatres screens. The movie was crisp, the sound was loud, next time, VIP all the way.

Maureen Stiles

This is a comfortable place to watch a movie. Easy parking, easy access and a fun place to go with family or on a date. And you are at Lansdowne with all the great restaurants and stores right there. Not a boring outing.

Bryan Washington

Always miss going to a movie theatre. Landsdowne is a great movie theatre to visit!

Mrunal Patel

One of the best Cineplex cinemas. This place has everything from AVX, IMAX, to 3D movies. Has a VIP place where you can purchase alcohol and have more comfy seats.

Dym

Great location, with really comfy seats in the VIP section. Love the new paperless ticket option. Buy online, open the e-mail there and they scan a bar code. Snacks are super expensive, but the theaters don't get much from ticket sales so they need to keep there lights on. I still think they could drop the prices just a lil, considering the price of popcorn is 99.7% profit.

Jackoya Lue

This is a really nice theatre. I've had an okay experience overall with the staff but theatres and seats make it worth it

Asma Shubair

Fancy theatre with 3 hours of free parking if you booked movie tickets. Honestly, very convenient. I also tried the VIP ticket, it was actually worth every penny.

Steve

Only time I go here is for a night out with my wife in the VIP theater but we love it! Order a glass of wine and sit back and relax while watching a movie. The area around here also has tons of restaurants and shops.

Jesse Goudie

Love it here. My goto spot

jason loney

Parking was rather easy , but the theater validated my parking and was only good for a specific time (I believe 3 hours). After arriving 20min before the feature , and watching the new bond flick I must have gone over the limit. I was both surprised and not surprised that I had a 16$ exit fee from the underground parking. Because this is covid time we had to present our proof of vaccine like everywhere else , then were told to head to the top floor where the vip theaters are located. Right around the corner from the escalators was a nice little bar before heading 20' down the hall to our theater. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who informed us that we can sit down and be able to order food to our seats until the movie starts. We waved them over and ordered and paid at the seat, then within 5min we received the order began to get comfortable. Although the seats do recline a bit , the foot rest doesn't elevate. This must have been a feature that other theaters added to compete with the then new VIP experience. There is a tray that can swing out in front of you to hold your food and drink during the movie , but really didn't use it other than to sit my drink on. OH , although I didn't order any beer during this visit, you can order beer and wine to your seat , or buy it In the mini lounge and walk it to your seat during the movie. They do have a pretty nice menu to order from, but unless you're there super early ,I don't feel it's practical to get the food 'during' the film. One last thing on the food part of the experience . With others around you ordering food , it's wise to show up already full or already be wrist deep into your popcorn so the fantastic smells seduce you to order what they got ;) Overall , a 7 or 8 of 10. Seats are comfy , staff are nice and food is great , but the drink and popcorn sizes have been reduced. If you're new to the movies , you wouldn't know the difference , but any veteran that were salivating while invisioning a monster popcorn and comparable drink will surely be disappointed . Hope this helps! J.

Gregory Penz

Great place to watch a movie. Great location. Even if you don't go to the VIP theatre, you can still get a meal up there, which is better than the nacho/hot dog option. We did watch a 3D movie. The movie was good, but I really don't think the technology is there yet for 3D. I think I will stick to the 2D.

Received excellent customer service from Mark - one of the managers. Thank you Mark for helping me with issues I had VIP experience is worth it! Comfy chairs, lots of room to stretch legs! Bathroom are clean and I like that they are "single" stall bathrooms Dining room service was really good. Food was good.

Justina

Save your money from the vip section and go somewhere else with better seats and service. Tried ordering food multiple times before the movie but the server kept saying “your server will be right with you”. One time in the middle of movie, one server was just standing on the side near the ramp doing nothing for a couple minutes, so i waived my hand and made eye contact with him and he just left right away.

Debbie Greene

Really like this theatre. It is in the heart of the Landsdown complex. Parking available under the complex with signs directing where best to park. I especially like the full reclining seats in select theatres. On 3 floor is the VIP where food is served at your seat. Lots of restaurants around this complex.

Jon Machado

Be aware that the manager Elaine is rude and without any customer service skills.

Rick Yade

We went to the 1045pm showing of Star Wars on 23 Dec. The theatre was filthy and had not been cleaned between movies. Debris was scattered over the floors and under seats. The staff at the concession stand were uninterested in proving service and were preoccupied with talking to each other. No offer to provide butter for popcorn. I would be hesitant to return to watch a movie in this location.

Yessica W

Great place. The health and safety precautions are in place

Benjamin Brown

Great location & recently constructed movie theater!

Culzean1

No other way to see a movie!

Hana Pika

Usually enjoy coming here but had a poor experience a week ago. By the time we left the theater (late movie) then there were no staff to be found and since then I have tried really hard to reach someone to complain and cannot get anyone to return my calls. Major fail on customer service!

Sanjay Rao

They close the parking frequently with games. No recommended if you can go else where to see the movie. The cinema gives no guidance what to do if this happens so you lose money on the ticket.

Meinhard Mare

Went to the vip cinema. Not the largest cinema screen but a very good experience. The snack and drinks menu has a wide variety and the cocktail glass is massive. Very comfortable layz boy style chairs as well. Cinema not very crowded so you can move easily between the isles. Would recommend for a date night

John Wotkins

We had a ticket for the movie. They asked for an ID for my son but they wouldn't take his school ID since he left his driver's license at home. It ruined our day and made us walk into the movie late. He invited his friend and thought he would have a good day. Their treatment of us has made him sad till this moment. I am extremely saddened by these employees as this is the first day of the year and it was already ruined. The school ID should have been enough since it had his name and picture which are the same on the vaccine report. It's important for an employee to treat people well. They were extremely rude and embarrassed us infront of all the other guests. I hope these employees get punished. I am ready for anyone responsible to call me so I can explain this situation even further.

K Kwan

The movie was great. However my seat doesn't recline :(

Chandrasekhar Kotillil

Great place to watch movies, just behind the stadium, also visit the ice skating rink behind the building

Damon Inlow

Always enjoy our date nights at VIP. Big comfy seats with easy access hand holding. Good food delivered right to your seat. The lounge and private bathrooms are a nice perk. Bit pricey for Ottawa at $24.99 but you can always go on cheap night or find a coupon if needed. Parking is super easy once you have done it a couple times, just look for the blue.
