Small, independent theater with one or two screenings daily of selected, sometimes non-mainstream movies. Movies are sometimes subtitled, sometimes with mature themes, but always worthwhile. Check out the Buzz magazine or CinemaClock for info. You can also rent the facility for private functions. CASH ONLY! Bring extra for the reasonably-priced concession treats.

This is, for us, the gem of Charlottetown. Where can you find a small independent cinema anymore? It shows small indie films and docs that we can't ever find showing in the big box cinemas. This little theatre actually shows movies for people over the age of 20. LOL. Very inexpensive especially if you become a member. Even the snack bar prices are cheap. Small, quaint movie house with comfy chairs and patrons who are there because they love movies so they're quiet and attentive. Great movie experience.

Always a nice time. The membership is well worth it. They don't sell full twizzlers at the concession and that's about the only complaint I could ever muster.

It's really nice to have this alternative to the more commercial theatres. They show lots of interesting niche and classic films. Good prices, you can actually afford the popcorn. Try to support these guys, seriously.

A rarity in small-town Canada, City Cinema shows films 7 nights a week. The programming is eclectic, and includes the best of foreign and independent films. The staff are friendly, the popcorn is hot, and the seats are comfortable.

First time I've been here and I really liked it. The theater is small, maybe sits 50-60 people, but I had a nice feel to it. *Note* the concession stand is cash only.

Great intimate setting with NO commercials. Straight to the movie at start time! The canteen is great. Real butter on the popcorn and actual bottles of pop vs fountain pop. For a fraction of the price at Cineplex. Love seeing a movie at this theatre. Lots of great independent films here as well as the standard ones.

Quaint small cinema offering indie and foreign films. This place is run mostly by volunteers and has a nice community feel. Cash only. I had some trouble finding the entrances and after asking several locals for assistance I found they too didn't know where it was and all sent me to a different cinema. There is no sign on the back of the building to let you know the cinema is inside. You can enter from the parking lot behind the pizza place and walk around the corner till you find the cinema entrance. Note if you turn up early there is no sign to let you know there is a cinema inside so just wait around with the locals. Doors open 15mi a before the movie starts.

Love this little cinema. Comfy seats, affordable prices, great art house movies! Friendly volunteers! I never go to the giant cinema anymore. This is the only independent cinema left, east of Montreal! Support it! It's a gem!
