Great theatre with excellent popcorn!!

Love it here.

Been here for only one time, the screen blacked out 2 times during the movie

Excellent theater. Bathroom was super clean, which is always a plus. Popcorn was excellent! Fresh, not too much butter. Delicious!

very nice place i love the atmosphere

Nice older classic theatre. Nothing flashy but a good place to watch a movie.

Just saw a fantastic encore performance of The Merry Widow starring Renee Fleming & The Metropolitan Opera at the Park Theatre on Cambie.

I love this theatre. It's Vancouver!

A real honest to goodness movie theatre!

Park is a great place if you're looking for a slightly cheaper movie. There's only one theatre so showtimes are limited but the location is great.

Popular with locals. Single cinema. Clean but COLD washroom?! Located on the east side of Cambie. South of Broadway Canada Line.

Real 35mm film projector here. Awesome experience!

Real 35mm film projector here. Awesome experience!

Here has the movie that other theatres don’t have

Nice clean theatre with decent staff

Wonderful at seeing 75mm film screenings, even if the projection quality is at times questionable. Nestled in a lovely neighbourhood for your pre and post screening follies.

Great experience. Staff was very helpful. I had booked some tickets for a 1:30 showing but got a last minute gig that conflicted with the time. They let me and my wife come in for the 5:30 show instead. We saw the Hateful Eight in 70mm. I heard they had problems before but for our showing, it was perfect.

Places like these need to be preserved. Its ambiance, history, and location couldn't be cooler. The outside of the theatre with its cinema sign is photogenic with a down-to-Earth sort of feel...if I'm making any sense. Anyways, it's the first theatre I've been to since the covid pandemic hit. The Park does a good job of encouraging social distancing (eg: empty rows and staggered seating). Felt pretty safe when watching the Bourdain documentary. Wear your most comfortable mask and go see a movie at the Park. You won't regret it. Let's hope the Park Theatre doesn't go the way of the dodo like the Ridge.

Great little one screen theatre! The line for snacks loooked long but went quick.

Lovely neighborhood single screen theatre

Pretty

So since people watch movie on Netflix instead of movie theatre, you sued the government and got $130000 of our tax dollars to compensate your "lost"?! Wicked!

Very comfy seats, lots of leg room. Screen sight lines are not raked like the newer theatres. No cahier at the front of house to pay cash for tickets. Had to use the self serve kiosks. Found out afterwards that the concession stands take cash for tickets. Very annoying. Luckily the show was not a sell out otherwise the line ups at the concession stand would have been long and slow.

I like it this cinema theatre

I dunno who owns it now, or if the staff is good, but the theatre itself is my favourite in the city

Works theatre I have ever been too, old, dirty, small bathroom, only two counters for drinks/popcorn, ONE counter for tickets. Huge lineups everywhere. Paid and lined up to watch the hateful 8 in 70mm, and they played the digital version without telling anyone until the end. And handed out popcorn tickets as compensation. If I knew I would have just walked out, complete waste of time.

Comfortable seating, food is priced like any other Cineplex. Audio in the theatre is quiet especially for people seated near the back, as there seems to be only sound coming from the screen and no wall speakers.

I like this cinema because it shows a variety of films from the latest Hollywood films to classic older films such as 2001, Casablanca, and Yellow Submarine.

This is a throwback and a cool one. A theatre not downtown or part of a massive mall. Only ONE screen at the theatre. Big auditorium capacity. Really good sound system. Worth patronizing if you want places like this to still exist.

Small local looking theater.

Was the only local theater showing Panos Cosmatos' Mandy on the opening night, which was highly appreciated. Also worth noting is the other screenings of seasonal or niche films shown here.

Price perfect! Cheap comfy seats. Nothing fancy loved it.

Cool old fashioned theater. Nice staff and their popcorn is the best around. Absolutely adore the old canopy outside

Great theatre, great staff. Felt super safe in COVID times. Good sound!

Okay theatre... But quite out of date.

Shows smaller, more limited films here. Only journeyed out here for 2 movies, but the limited release films are great for an avid film watcher like myself

Coming to this place reminds me of my childhood. I really like the 80-90s style of the theater. They only have 1 auditorium but is actually quite big. The seating is on a first come first serve basis so make sure you show up at least 15 min before the show. O only wish they offer more food options such as nachos, hot dogs, etc.

Big theatre with good seating and comfy chairs. They occasionally host special film nights with some off-the-beaten-path films

Great little theatre for a slow night

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My favorite place to see a movie

great theatre!

Friendly service, and they held my tickets for me at the door as I was late catching up to my family.

Great theatre, saw Hateful Eight in 70mm here.

Old, Huge theater, comfy seats. :) Clean washrooms.

Fun place to watch 70mm projections

old fashioned theatre.

Great place for older movies...

Great theater!

Theyre doing this new thing where the cashier is gone and instead the old ladies have to use a machine to get in, which results in lines so long and slow you miss the first few minutes of the movie. Other than that it's the last of the neighborhood movie houses. They sold out to Cineplex a few years ago so it's pretty corporate, but they usually bring in more arty films.

Its a cute little theater with one room but it's complete with a concession. Everyone is very warm and friendly here and hope to come here again as it's easy to get to and very simple to go in and watch a movie.

I love this place! This movie theatre shows a bunch of the old classics and the alternative films that don't make it to the "big" theatres. Please, please, please give this place a chance and always be sure to have it on your favourite list. Sooner or later one of your dearest films will screen here :)

Went to see 2001 in 70mm. The center of frame way way out of focus. Normally that doesn't bug me much, but the whole point of seeing 2001 in 70mm is for the fidelity (or lack of) in the print. Why go through the trouble of showing film, if y'all won't take the time to focus the projector :(

It’s nice to visit a cinema that isn’t a huge multiplex, even if you do get the generic cineplex vibe from the lobby. But at least they show an alternative collection of films.

Awesome old school theatre. Great staff and the theatres 70mm films are fantastic. Keep em coming @cineplex. Tenet was insanly good on 70mm

Sure it's old school - but that's the charm... I can go to any number of big, multi-screen complexes - but this theatre feels very much a part of the community it's in. That's what makes it special.

Bad seats. Everything else is glorious!

Great independent theatre. A little bigger than the Vancity Theatre but will normal theatre seats. The staff was friendly and the concession did not gouge on pricing. Would happily go again.

Cute heritage theatre. Love that it’s still open.

Old theater, no parking

Show a good variety of films here.

Old style one screen cinema. Simple and to the point, while also being able to earn Scene points.

This theatre is super cute! I’ve driven past it plenty, but never went in. They were playing a weeb movie (My Hero Academia: Tale of Two Heroes) which was really cool. They have a solid concession, but was sad they didn’t have all the food a normal cineplex outtakes has (wanted Poutine). I recommend the Mini Combo. $7.99 gets you a drink, popcorn, and candy in a good portion for one person to have.

Great cozy local theatre. Handy to lots to do eateries in the Cambie Village. Also home to a wonderful, welcoming local and diverse church called Trinity Central.

Smells ,Poor movie house in Vancouver to think of. Why is it so? Developers should see this as an opportunity. Eh?

Big theatre with comfortable seats. Nice to have helpers at check-in machines but having only two which slows things up.

old style theater on the outside with lots of seats in a big screen room. really appreciate they will sometimes show movies nobody else does.

The 70mm was fantastic! The night I went there was an issue with BC Hydro that the theatre operators did not k ow about u til the show was about to start. Everyone who worked at the theatre did their beat to make sure everyone in the theatre was kept informed about the wait. They were all friendly and they did a great job under difficult circumstances.

Dirty, broken down and poorly run. It could easily be a great venue.

Our neighbourhood theatre has lost a lot in recent years. First run films are no longer as abundant as they once were, and the very enjoyable Sunday morning sneak peaks are missed. We now use the facility for operas and unusual documentaries (such as the one on Hokusai a few months ago).

I saw the hateful 8 here in 70mm. It was amazing!

Older theatre. LOTS of seats in an open larger theatre. No fighting for seats here.

Love the classic feel of this place. Don’t expect a brand new shiny cineplex, but it has character and charm in it’s own way. Works just as good as any other theatre!

Perhaps because of the current pandemic, the theatre was eerily near empty when we went to see Emma. Otherwise, we always love going to Park Theatre to see films. It has the traditional feel to it, unlike the moders super-cinemas that's increasingly popping up.

Had a great experience at the Park Theatre today. Went in to watch Jojo Rabbit at 4.30pm and as the movie was about to play, the projector experienced technical difficulties. After about 20 minutes the problem was solved and normal service resumed but the usher and the manager were calm and did their best to handle a rather grumpy crowd well. We were given vouchers for our next visit upon exiting the cinema which was an unnecessary but very appreciated touch. Hats off to the 2 staff running the theatre. An unlucky situation that was dealt with really well. We will be back.

Watch movies with lots of grey haired people

Quaint cinema with old style layout. Better suited for art style movies

Nice one screen Cineplex-owned theatre with comfy seats and clean floors. Simple concession with just popcorn, candy, and pop.

Great old neighborhood movie theater.

It's a tiny theatre that's barely staffed but the location is great and their selections of what they run keeps me coming back.

Great cinema, great sound. I find it tends to show the good films that have come out rather than the superhero blockbusters the chains show. Attracts a decent crowd, unlike the scotiabank dt. Spacious seats/legroom. Not very good if you’re sitting at the back because it’s a long cinema, too many distracting heads.

Long time neighborhood theater. Comfy seats with movable arm rests good for cuddling on a date night

Friendly and helpful staff.

Not stadium seating so if it's a crowded theatre you may find yourself straining your neck to see around the basketball player who sits in front of you.

It's a nice theater in the neighborhood. Since it owned or operated by Cineplex, i would expect it to be cleaner. Everything inside feels dated, and not necessarily in a good way.. They should turn into a concept like the Alamo theaters in the US

always eerie. good size theater. new seats. I only go if I have to. I wonder if it has ghosts...

The staff are very rude and unpleasant, also it is very small inside. And the screens are small.

The popcorn and snacks were great, the staff was helpful and amiable, and the seats were very comfortable, making the viewing experience fantastic. But this theatre earned its 5 stars after I left the theatre. I left my wallet at the theatre after the movie, and the manager went out of his way to get it back to me promptly. The atmosphere is great and I would strongly recommend a visit here.

Great to find a cinema in Vancouver that shows classic films - enjoyed watching Manhattan here.

Big beautiful theater in the middle of Vancouver

Theatre is tiny and the seats are not situated at the best slope for viewing. Really appreciate the theatre showing foreign films though

Great single screen theatre. Lots of character.

Great theatre!

One of the few remaining classic movie houses in Vancouver. A single screen cinema, the Park usually plays independant or specialty fare as opposed to newer releases.

Great!

The film version of our movie didn’t play so they showed the digital version and gave us free movie passes.

A theatre from a bygone Vancouver era. Been here many times, never been disappointed. I love that they often show interesting, often foreign non-mainstream flicks.

Single screen, small concession stand, lots of seating but a smaller screen means try to sit close.

A sweet neighborhood movie theatre.

Just a great theatre ! But it has butter popcorn but no milk duds ! No milk duds ! Outrageous !

The Park is a cozy theater just off Queen Elizabeth Park that has been around for as long as I can remember. Unlike multiplex theatres the incline of the seats is gradual, as it once was in all theatres, as opposed to precipitously steep resulting in only a few coveted centre seats offering a clear undistorted view. Most of the seats at The Park offer a good view. Also the screen ratio is suitably proportioned for the wider anamorphic 2.35:1 as opposed to the conventional cropped 1.85:1: the dimensions of multiplex screens and your TV. The seats, which used to be the most uncomfortable in town, have been replaced by ones very comfortable. The swinging doors to the theater itself add a nice touch of character. The theater opened in 1941 which makes it one of Vancouver's oldest surviving continually operating movie houses. True the concession is cramped, if it is busy, so suggest eating beforehand or coming early.

Nice theatre as they have old school projectors and can do things like 70mm screenings. Too bad it's quite cold inside!

So olddd, one screen in the place

So olddd, one screen in the place

Movies shown they way they are meant to be. One of my favourite cinemas in the city. Be part of a community as you wait in line together outside. Take advantage of all that mount pleasant has to offer, stop at rain or shine for a cone while you wait. The small lobby and single screen are nostalgic, a stepping back in time and setting the mood for a couple hours of escapism. I find lots of people are on their own here, single viewer cinephiles.

This place is great. It's old style theatre before stadium seating, etc. My gf and I saw Scream there on Halloween and there was only two other people in the theatre. It was great. They show a lot of older movies also.

Cute little theater with seats upstairs!

Love that they are featuring some classic films on the big screen.

Cute theatre in a neighborhood with lots of local flavour. They play stuff a bit outside the box.

A small, comfy little theater. Friqendly staff and large amount of seating so you will always find a nice place to sit.

Big room, uncomfortable seats, not good smell.

Nice neighborhood theatre. Good popcorn. Hope this theatre doesn't fall victim to the wrecking ball like so many other heritage buildings in Vancouver. It's getting difficult to distinguish Vancouver from Hong Kong (though I must confess that I've never been to the latter.)

My favourite movie theatre in the city. It’s old and has a nostalgic feel. It was the place where I watched my first movie as a kid so it’s sentimental to be able to take my own kids there. I prefer the small, quaint feel to the huge ones with all the unbearable bright lights and the crazy sounds of video games. This is what a movie theatre should be.

Way to go Cineplex! You turned a great theatre into the most uncomfortable place to see a movie in the city. You did it!!

Good popcorn.

One of my favourite movie theatres in the city. Only one screen - popcorn is made to eat so it's pretty delicious.

I love that the theatre is so old timey. The less number of people can be a great experience. Plus I love the popcorn. They stream great movies which almost transport you back in time

This is the only other theater that plays The French Dispatch in town right now. I was more than surprised to find out how clean and cozy this neighborhood movie house was. It was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely visit again.

Awful sound system. I got up and went into the lobby after the first 10 minutes of the film to ask someone to please turn up the sound. Then the sound improved for a while, but for some reason reverted to its original crappy state. I understand everything crystal clear when I go to a cinema that has a good sound system, so don't anyone think that my hearing is the problem!

This is a proper neighbourhood single-screen cinema. It's huge, has a good screen and good sound and the seats are comfortable. It's within a neighbourhood so lots of people can walk to it and it has decent transit service, on two frequent bus routes. There are neighbourhood cafes and restaurants on the same block for before and after. What's not to love!

One of the last standing single screen movie theatres in the city. Very authentic

Old theatre with almost no management. They don’t even check the tickets sometimes .

It's an old theatre that is trying to be different by offering unique movies (Not experimental, but classics) Pretty standard because is operated by Cineplex, so it is not as unique or fun as the Rio,

A terrific classic single-screen theater. So great to visit.

Still a great local theatre.

Theatre is nice but Cineplex is one of the worst companies in Canada. Can't believe we've let them monopolize the market (at least where I live).

Old school single theatre in a great location.

NEVER going here again. Management and staff are SO rude. My first time coming here and I came half an hour early to be the first to purchase tickets and reserve seats. The cashier lady told me after purchasing my tickets that i have to wait until the previous movie is done before going in to sit. There is only one theatre room so the previous movie finished and i went in and sat down. I had to come back out to give my ticket to my boyfriend and one of the staff told me we can't go back in and have to line up outside. Apparently, if you purchase tickets you have to line up in a separate line outside. The lineup was 100 people!!!! They wanted us to go to the very back even though they knew i had come first. And they were the ones who didn't tell me where I should have gone. Anyway, the manager also didn't do anything. And when i went to use the bathroom, I was scolded by the staff girl about where i was going..like i was a kid or something. We walked out and didn't even go to the movie. I get there needs to be a line up- but explain that to people! And you knew that i was there waiting by myself for half an hour before anyone else came. Just ridiculous.

It is really nice place

My favorite theatre in Vancouver

Love this place. Not to big or crowded and so close by :)

Real 70mm film what a treat. Great room to watch a real big Screen movie!

The best of the corporate-owned theaters

This is an older theatre but has had some technological upgrades over he years. Pros: lineups are fairly short even on opening night because of the location away from down town. It is also fairly large. Starbucks is right next door so good coffee is handy. Cons: The Theatre has only a small slope so hope that you don't get a tall person in front of you.

(Translated) It’s not just a movie, it’s like giving a variety of events (Original) 단순 영화뿐 아니라 여러 이벤트를 해주는듯

Good cinema, showed supersonic oasis doc, so kudos.

One of the few theatres around that the seating is bowl shaped and if you sit near the middle (front to back), the heads infront of your might impede the view.

Unhelpful staff, small, uncomfortable theatre.

Watched French Dispatch here. Arrived on time. Lineup was very long. No one can get in on time but they started the movie anyways. I wanted to buy a drink combo, find out they don't have bottled soft drinks, only water and vitamin water. Whatever I buy a fountain drink. We go inside the theatre, the seats are nearly impossible to find. The movie has already playing, so it was dark in the theatre. I couldn't find a staff to help me find my seat. I manually counted the rows and finally get to my seat, to find another couple sitting there. I couldn't even fault them, because couple B is in THEIR seat. Couple B told them the staff told them to sit there, after their own seats had been taken. I imagine the original culprits had a hard time finding seats too. This how they're running the Theatre. During covid. I can't speak for other cineplex but this location should honestly just close down. All in all a poor movie viewing experience.

This is a nice, older theatre with a massive single screen auditorium that hearkens back to a lighter release schedule. Cineplex took it over a few years ago, but it's still not bad, though they tend to book less interesting films then Festival did.

Old style theatre, liked it! Had air con too! Parking near by is OK

Good films generally but they will not cary change for cash. Commercials and trailer sound set to excesive volume. Will bring eyemask earplugs and change next time.

Great popcorn, street parking ok, near lots of restaurants.

I like the theater, small and cosy. A little bit more sympathy from staff wouldn't be bad but nothing that compromises.

Authentic movie experience

Older theatre with 1 showing only, you won't be seeing new releases here but that's not the point.

Great place to go that's not in downtown. I like the size of it and the great seats. Service was acceptable.

Turns out there's only one theatre. It is however a really long and big theatre. There were no ads before the movie i watched unlike some other theatres I've been to.

Good show time

Nice staff but the popcorn was below par

Comfortable sitting, spacious, excellent sound experience!

(Translated) UwU (Original) UwU

Could have better parking and the facilities are not very modern.

a small theatre with great service and maintenance

Modern theatre that offers blockbusters as well as movies off the beaten. Love it!

pretty good small theatre, often playing movies no one else is - or before wide-release anyway. bit hard to get to on transit though.

Nice movie hall

Great theater - despite being part of a chain the Park maintains its neighbourhood theater charm. And they show 70mm film baby.

This theater would be absolutely PERFECT if they would only turn the sound up. the sound is way too low there. It sounds like it only comes form the screen section so it needs to be turned up. That is the only problem. Like the Rio, they play lots of awesome old classic movies from the 70's and 80's. But seriously, turn up the sound!

Friendly staff. Nice place to watch a movie.

Nice to have a neighbourhood theatre that is first class

Great theatre, friendly staff

This is really the worst theatre I've ever been too. Honestly if you have the choice don't go here. The seats are old and uncomfortable. The staff are so so so rude. I've never left a comment on here but logged in just to do that because my experience was so bad. Went to see h8ful 8 hoping that would project it properly but the projector wasn't focused properly. When I said something. They told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that's just how film is. Ridiculous. It's embarrassment to the film and the movie goers. Don't ever go here. Ever. Unless it's the only theatre open. Seriously. Don't

One of the few old-school theaters left in Vancouver. It doesn't have the latest Dolby equipment and all the bells and whistles of the large chain theaters, but that's not what it's set out to do... I love coming here because it feels like going to the movies did 25 years ago and there is something to be said for supporting a place like this... They also show stuff in 70mm when it is released in this format, which is sweet.

Very cool place, they show blockbusters and some other interesting shows as well.

Handy movie theater in the heart of Cambie, good sound system, street parking available and many eateries nearby.

Flamenco dancing wed to sat aok

They are taking social distancing very seriously.

Green grass all over the place

On Saturday November 20 my friend and I attended the 7pm showing of The French Dispatch. He is in a wheelchair. We entered the theatre and showed our tickets. I needed to go back and pay for parking, which ended up taking a while. A young male staff member assisted my friend who was left waiting for me. He brought him around to a separate entrance, and escorted both of us to our seats in the back of the theatre. He made sure we were comfortably seated and told us about the washroom setup. When the movie ended, he was immediately by our side, and helped us exit the theatre. We were so pleased for the gracious help and would encourage others to select this theatre for a friendly movie experience.

Don't trust the website! We planned our week around the Saturday morning family favourite, and my son was really looking forward to seeing Captain Underpants. We told him if he behaved in school for the week, we'd treat him to the movie. When we arrived, we were shocked to learn that they changed the movie, and didn't bother to update their website. I mentioned this to the manager, and she said the website is not reliable. Not an appropriate response. No responsibility taken, and no apology offered. The movie they did show came on a half hour late due to technical difficulties. The technical difficulties didn't bother me, but did rub a bit of salt in the wound.

I don't no

The woman who helped us at the front was lovely. She shared that she has worked here for 6 years and boasted about how this was the best theatre. Even having worked at larger more popular theatres. Getting inside the charm reminds me of the theatre I went to growing up. Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ???? ⭐️ ⭐️

Nice retro theatre, the seating arrangment isnt like modern theatres, but there is so many seats there is no problem finding where to sit. Washrooms are on the older side. Audio and video are decent

Great place to watch a movie

One room theatre. Was one of the last places to see the movie I wanted to see. Comfortable seats.

Excellent sitting, big screen, sound, spacious

I love this theater...the pop corn always tastes old though my dogz...get some fresher corn and get that 5th star.

Old fashioned comfortable theater

Neighborhood stand alone theatre. Staff could be more friendly.

Saw a movie on 80mm film here recently, was an amazing experience. Small comfortable single screen theatre and the staff were all enthusiastic and friendly.

Old theatre, AC unit makes noise during the film

I live in fleetwood and made the 80 minute transit ride to go and see The Hateful Eight in 70mm. I was a bit concerned thinking there would be someone who didn't know how to set up and operate the projectors properly. Thankfully it went off without a hitch and I had a great time. Yeah its an old theatre with a smaller screen but at least it was faithfully projected on film and that's all you can ask for.

Popcorn at the movies.popcorn walking home. spontaneous random movie night en route home

A little bit hokey in the perfect way

Cool theatre that's reminiscent of theaters back in the day and in the heart of Vancouver

Excellent location and I dig the retro vibe

The place has been the venue of a ton of great movies. The place is definitely dated but for me, full of pleasant memories. There used to be an Indian restaurant, Major Chutney's (next door). They served some of Vancouver's great Kashmiri dishes. So Indian food and a movie or a movie and Indian food. I miss the combination.

Very quaint, and it has only the one screen, but it is clean, and the staff are very quick and polite. They only show 'event' movies at this theater, so don't expect to catch the latest Marvel or Fast and the Furious movie here, but if you want to see the classics, like an old Indiana Jones Film, or something from Alfred Hitchcock, this is the place to go! You can also catch filmed opera and theater performances. As a result this theater is usually not too crowded or busy. It makes for a fun evening if there is some old favorite movie you want to see or if there is no new release that looks appealing.

Very good single-screen cinema. It used to be independently owned until it transfered ownership to Cineplex. It had a loyal adult audience before and it hasn't lost touch since. Plays the more obscure or more serious movies most multiplex cinemas won't show. Even after Cineplex bought it.

Movies

Very quiet theatre with lots of room

Good place to watch a movie
