The Oliver Theatre was/is the superior option for films over Penticton Penmar Theatre which has been replaced by a more expensive, nicer, Landmark Theatres. Family run, inexpensive, snacks, and a central location.

My wife and I attended this theatre for the first time in May, 2019. You will find the service to be one of the best. The pop corn is fresh and the Guy behind the counter knows just how to put the butter in the middle and on top just the way we liked it. The twirlers were fresh, had to buy two and you will find the seats to be comfy with lots of leg room. I especially like the two old guys from the muppets looking down at you from the right corner stage. We would highly recommend you try this theatre out for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

I've been going to this theatre for almost 30 years. New owners are doing well except for the fact that the sound has been turned way down. To the point that all you hear during a movie is the crinkle of plastic from people's candies as well as the people working the counter cleaning the floors and talking. I've been to 5 movies since new ownership and its quite annoying honestly. One or two people complain about the sound so you have to make it worse for most of us. Not cool.

One of my favorite theaters. Has 3D, great sound, real butter on the popcorn!!! & ample drinks and treats for sale. Tickets are considerably less than other theaters. Only takes cash - I like cash :- ) works for me! If you are visiting the Southern Okanagan - I'd recommend the experience.

This is one of the best little theaters around! Inexpensive and a great selection of treats. The theater itself is full of historic charm. The seats are comfortable with good leg room. The sound is THX and the picture is digital. They do 2D and 3D. They also do a Throwback Thursday where they show classic films like JAWS, The Godfather, etc. Definitely worth a visit!

The Oliver Theater holds a dear place in my Heart! My Grandfather Owned & Operated it, my Mothers family was raised in it and for the last 30 + years my Uncle and Aunty have Owned & Operated it! Very well might I add!! Once you walk in the smell of popcorn takes over your senses. In the backround the sound of people laughing giggling and in between the house soundtrack playing while the countdown to main show. It always warms my soul to go in to the theater for a movie experience. I am in absolute love with the building, the feeling and the show experience every time. P.S the popcorn at The Oliver Theater is the best I have every had anywhere. Full Digital surround sound with 3d Capability. Only one screen so you know its good ;). Do yourself a favor if you have not already and get to this place to have a really nice evening. Cheers

The updated paint job is fun and bright; they've brought in a better variety of snacks and drinks; the staff is SUPER friendly; and they've finally updated to interac payment options as well! Cash only was such a hassle. Thanks for the great new experience, guys!

This is an amazing family run local theatre. We always try to stop in here for a movie when we’re in town. The popcorn is delicious and the prices are really reasonable for a movie theatre.

The bathroom only has one stall, and only has cold water. And the seats are arranged (in my opinion) suboptimaly, so that it is easy for a person sitting in front of you to obscure your view. I also thought the movie was slightly too loud. Other than that, though, this place delivered just fine, and the experience was enjoyable.

My first time visiting it was much better than expected. Screen was good, even on a 3d feature that I normally find too dark in most theatres, and the sound system was great also. Will definitely be going again.

So I come to Oliver to see my dad quite regularly with my 10 and 14 yr old. First time at the theater. Sooo impressed. Great job. Great staff. Super friendly. I live in Kimberley so here as much as we can be. Now it's going to be every time we visit. Great job

Great Theatre! Ticket prices were very reasonable for a full price ticket($10) for the 3D show. The popcorn and drinks were a great price too. The theater was well attended, but not too crowded, which we liked.

Cozy old time theatre with a modern digital projector capable of displaying 3D movies. Great popcorn with real butter. Price of tickets is almost half of what you would pay at one of the big theatres. All it needs to make it perfect is Statler and Waldorf sitting in the balcony.

Exactly what you'd expect for such a small and quaint town like Oliver, a single showing theatre that's a few months behind in new releases; Go to Pentiction if you want new movies, but it's chill & the prices aren't as bad, being relatively cheap for a theatre.
