You have all the information of people who buy the services of Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas (Movie Theater) in the area close to British Columbia (Canada).
As of day this business receives a rating of 4 stars over 5 and that rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is high, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the evaluation is very reliable. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
Only place with free parking in downtown Vancouver, easy, clean - best kept secret for movie goers.
Good theater not very busy but not alot of food choices
Great theatre for smaller indie and foreign films. Sadly doesn't have any VIP theatres.
Love it
Nice facility, one of the better in the city, we go to movies frequently, one week till 1 every two weeks, including places we travel to. This is one of the nicer cleaner movie theaters we've been to. Actually had a difficult time under Fandango finding a decent movie theater and we're glad we found this one.
Management there is fantastic. Tina (manager) is very friendly and personable. Location is great too. My only thing is that there seems to always be something going down there whether it be homeless people sleeping in the theatre or something similar in nature. That is not the theatres fault though, as I expect that this would happen in the area it is in. I like the location but it is going through gentrification of sorts.
My fav Cineplex theatre. Always has the small, foreign or arthouse films. Also close to transit
Not as many amenities as other cineplexes but still a nice place to catch a movie.
Great. Free parking if you're seeing a movie or just dropping in for 2 hours.
One of my favorite movie venues - always excellent film presentations. During the Vancouver International Film Festival, all the Volunteers help things run even more smoothly and the atmosphere is eléctrico and lit.
One of the few reasons to visit this mall, which is still very dead. Theater is pretty good though.
Stadium seating, plays a lot of indie and festival films along with smaller budget films and ones that have been released for a while. Pop machines that serve many (50?) flavours, although on my last visit most were out of gingerale. Free parking underneath. In a ghost-town of a mall on the edge of the poorest neighbourhood in Canada.
Great theatre for international films or Sundance films. Lots of theatres are available and it's not usually too busy
Average theater but the absence of proper air conditioning turns the theater into a sweaty oven by the end of the movie. The free parking is the only plus about this mall. It has to be the most run down nasty mall in a 3 hour radius of downtown.
This place is a dump. It's embarrassing just how bad it is. It's dirty, tired and empty.
It's quit here and easy to get to with SkyTrain. There is only 2hr free parking in the parking lot
It was amazing to try the VIP section for the first time. There's a lounge before the theatre where you get to relax and have some drinks and food. After you settle in the comfy gigantic chairs that reclines, you will share a table with the seat next to you so you can keep drinking and eating while watching the movie on an amazing screen and two real surround sound
Not as busy compared to other theaters in town. Doesn't offer as much choices in shows.
A convenient location to watch movies. Pretty clean location. Recent upgrades with comfortable chairs.
Saw a free movie, ' Fist Fight ' in theatre # 10. The medium popcorn was fine. This theatre has a simple machine, by pushing a red button, any customer can add unlimited topping to their popcorn for free. The audience laughed often at actor Ice Cube, he played teacher, Ron Strickland. One warning about the movie, the profanity is excessive, especially the ' f-word '.
Good theater, pretty empty
Comfortable seats, great sound, large screens. Easy to take in a double bill
The staff is friendly. Concession is a little small for the number of auditoriums they have.
They show some great films here. Not always just the blockbusters. Some really good indie films too!
Nice theatre close to sky-train and other stores which you may want to check out.
I like watching movies alone. So when I have a free evening I might binge on seeing 2 movies in a row. They less Hollywood, Independent Films and some Foreign. I avoid horror. Also this International Village participates in the International Film Festival.
I only go here where the movie I want to watch it’s only available here. Kinda dirty and old.
Great place for us to hold a private viewing of a new release. Well organized staff and management.
It’s not usually busy and full. The staffs are fantastic!
One of the best places on this side of Yaletown to catch the latest movies. Specially on Tuesdays as the prices are cheapest then. Bang for your buck. Comfy seats. Lots of options from regular to 3D. Very convenient location. Best to unwind on a Tuesday after a long day at work. Do not forget to use your scene card to collect points.
nice little theatre with what you come to expect from a cineplex, my kid likes the arcade and air hockey as well, there is elevator or large escalator options for getting upstairs for your viewing, friendly staff, clean place
Good, nice and cozy theater. Food court is convenient at the same place.
Clean. Still able to purchase snacks. Not busy or overcrowded.
The seats were really tiny and the bathrooms were disgusting. At least the movie was good (Parasyte) which has no bearing on my rating. Gave it a 2 because it wasnt the worst theater Ive been to, but pretty close.
All the small time movies play here and second run. I love this theatre for that. The chairs are fairly comfy and less seating per theatre means more room for your legs and what not.
Lots of movie choices great sound and comfortable seats!
Good theater. Much less busy than the other ones nearby.
The experience was good. We went to watch Godzilla vs King Kong. The seats reclined okay but the mall actually closed at 9pm. We sound and the picture quality was good, me and my wife had a good time there. One of the few movie theatres (cineplex) in downtown. Given a chance I would go back to the theatre again as the tickets were also on the cheaper side ($14).
Great service and comfy seats. Couldn't be happier.
Free parking, good movie selection. Not the variety of food you see at some other theatres, or newer seating types, but there is a foodfare and lots of restaurants.
No restaurants, small screens. Would not recommend this theatre.
Kind of surprising that in a nice theatre in downtown Vancouver that there would be so many people making noise and disrupting the movie. It wasn't just the two drunk guys behind us - there was another crazy guy doing a dance in the aisle, people talking loudly and so on. One of the staff came in to talk to the drunk guys but they started up again after he left. I wanted to watch the entertainment on the screen, not all the crazies around us!!
Noticeably less crowded than other theater options in Vancouver. It is an older cinema, and doesn't have all the bells & whistles you'll find at other Cineplex theaters.
Theatres are 20th century technology sorry guys RIP. The Rio gets to survive tho
The place I go for films if I'm in the downtown area. (I find Scotiabank theatre parking not nearly as convenient). International Village Cineplex has free parking for moviegoers, a food court to have a quick bite before/after a show. Speaking of shows, Village goes for variety, not just multiple screens running the latest Disney release. I often need to come here to have a chance of watching limited release artsy or Indy films, just today: Dark Waters. Got to see Upgrade and Backcountry here too!
Many auditoriums to offer a wider range of films than the ScotiaBank theater
The cinema is okay but the building is so depressing.
Worst movie experience ever. Took over half an hour to get a ticket. Only one machine out of several was working. No one seemed to care.
Good selections of movies, have also some arcade but not a lot though. Overall very good.
Took my kids to the 1st movie of the day and the theater was a mess. Popcorn all over the floor of the aisles and garbage in the seats and cup holders. All of the electronic kiosks were either out of service or giving errors. Gross experience.
This theatre is located in Tinseltown and is conveniently located near several great restaurants (Taishoken in particular). Most of movies I've watched here are not as busy as other Cineplex locations. The seating is dated but you forget you're in an older theatre once the movie starts. The underground parking is free for movie patrons so do not worry about paying a dime if you drove. Just don't try to exploit your free parking by leaving the mall and visiting other locales.
Good location. 5 star for the free parking and cool balcony studio
So nice to be back in theaters again, and this one happens to be one of my favorites. Often showing movies no other theater would and supporting many many many foreign films, this theater always has a unique list to choose from. A great place to go for a show, and their covid regulations are on point!
Have been going to this theatre essentially since it opened in 1999. Was recently there for a Saturday showing of 3 Billboards. ( Little tip for everyone that is unless you like sitting elbow to elbow in a theatre) Wait a couple of months for all of the hype to die down then hit up the movie. Was a Saturday showing with an Academy award winning actress and the theatre was essentially empty. Just as I like. Made my way to the balcony level first row and was enabled not only incline my seat but able to put your feet up on the divider wall. The reason for the 3 stars is it's location. Yes it is within walking distance from the sky train station 3 minutes. But I call the mall that it is in the mall of death. Filled with nothing more than junkies sleeping on the benches and old people staring off into space. Oh ya and closed stores as in shut down completely. I am sure anyone who has been to this mall knows what I mean the vibe given off. Accessing the mall via Keefer street is all fine and good but if you go out the West Pender exit..... well you will get a taste of Vancouver's dirty big secret. What really can you say about a theatre the lights are so dim in the place you can't barely see where you are walking.Does have the new addition of being able to mix and create your own coke branded drinks. The seats are average but if you get a chance to be in a theatre that has a balcony I suggest the first row since being able to recline and put your feet up is a big plus.
great theater, free 2hr underground parking. Theater is located in a mall so plenty of food option prior to your movie
Great cinema.... great location and kept nice and clean. The seats and comfortable (unlike the Scotia Theatre where the seats and springy and uncomfortable)
Super busy lineups I guess due to being in downtown, not the newest theater I've been to. What I like and dislike at times is the unassigned seats. You can sit wherever you want when you're early but it sucks when you are late.
Awkward parking & going thru the mall to the elevator/escalator. Under staffed. Good theatres & seats.
Meh, the other cineplex theaters have better sound. Also you can feel the vibrations from the other rooms
Probably my favourite Cineplex theatre in the lower mainland. They always manage the perfect balance of more popular and smaller, more indie offerings when most theatres tend to skew heavily in one direction or the other.
This theater definitely needs renovations. The seats were worn down but the overall theater space was clean. The movie selection here is not the largest and the greatest since they don't play the largest blockbuster movies here. Service is average, but it didn't seem like the employees were happy. It's located in a considerably sketchy area, so be careful by locking your car doors if you're parking downstairs (free parking) and not leaving any valuables in there. Also, as other reviews have mentioned, avoid the McDonalds downstairs.
I really wanted to give this theater A4 but the atmosphere isn't clean.
Always a good place to go instead of Downtown, close to a Skytrain and easy access by bus. FREE PARKING! I never feel this cinema ever fills up or is too busy.
Good theaters, seats arranged so views are good.
Was ok, needs to be properly cleaned though. I didnt want to put anything on the floor due to it being sticky:-(
A rather lovely cinema (great decorations) in the city of Vancouver. Easy to commute by bus, and a SkyTrain station is rather close.
Very reliable movie venue. Comfy seats, lots of leg room. Good sight lines for any film. Individual cinemas are well marked and easy to locate. Option available for purchasing tickets using the self serve kiosk one floor down near the food court if there is a long queue at the box office.
I work there so
This theater is very nice and the seats are comfortable. There is also an arcade which is kind of cool.
It's a good place to watch obscure movies as they're willing to exhibit more independent movies than other theaters. …
Clean, always free parking if going to a movie. The food court has a couple nice surprises mostly the Thai restaurant we go to everytime we see a movie is great.
My favourite place to see a movie in Vancouver. They often show art house and international films. The seats are comfy and spacious. Easy to get to on the Skytrain. Reasonably priced tickets.
Free 2 HR parking, super cool cafe with cats to visit!! (Catfè)???????????? Not too crowded...
One of the best theatres in Greater Vancouver. Half reclining seats. Not too busy. Older crowd...shows some indy movies and documentaries although far less than under old ownership.
They have kiosks to purchase tickets in advance 1 floor below. The theaters are a bit smaller than at other locations, but it doesn't change my experience much.
Not many people come to this theater so it's not as crowded at Scotiabank on burrard. Watched how to trian your dragon here and loved it. If you are hoarding Cineplex points, can use it towards free movies and $5 discount on food (500scene points)
Great seats but sometimes there are people talk during the film and that REALLY irratates me but other than that, the theatre is really clean.
Never to full. The theater itself is fairly new which means the seats are great. Staff is friendly. Great place if you want to avoid crowds. Sometimes plays old movies which is great.
A good cinema with nice eateries just outside the theatre. It was a weekday when we came, so it was really quiet and I truly enjoyed it. The place was clean and security is good.
This Cineplex is very convenient, located in the very heart of downtown Vancouver near Chinatown and the skytrain station. You can watch your favourite movie in a confortable chair, enjoying a large bag of popcorn and a good sofa! Hi he staff is friendly and helpful!
They only have regular theater food (use it out back menu where I live). The building however where it is located could use a face lift.
I went here to watch Captain Marvel. The cinema has everything you expect from a cinema. No less no more.
Shows a good mixture of movies from blockbuster to independent and many from around the world. Something for everybody!????
Awesome theater. Over priced food (as usual.)
Always been one of my fave places to see a movie. Nice staff.
One of Cineplex's smaller venues. What it lacks in size it makes up in the quality of its staff. One thing, Cineplex really should improve the quality and variety of food there. There is a food court in the building but you can't bring it into the theater legally, which is a bummer.
Great spacious and selection of movies Photograph: West Side Story 2021 Movie Musical
I like this theatre. People are always friendly. The seats are comfortable. Movies are great. It makes you forget your in the middle of the city.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Popcorn wasn't very good and seating wasn't very comfortable.
Man we need to come here more often the seating was amazing. Spacious and not as busy as other theatres. Came to see Toy Story 4 here. Will definitely come back to see more movies
Because I wasn’t sure how to give it 0. Huge line-ups. One kiosk open. You don’t find out until you’re upstairs that you have to go to the bottom to use kiosks. 2 of 3 kiosks not working. Late for our movie. Not pleased.
Wow, surprised to see this place still standing. Figured it'd be gone by now. A testament to its strength as a movie theatre I think. No major issues. The night we went the whole point of sales system was down so only accepted cash. Kudos to the workers that had to pull out some old school calculater skills.
This is a nice movie complex and free parking for cinema patrons. Seating is done in away where everyone gets a good view, sound is good too.
Eva was my counter server on my last visit to the theater. I appreciated her sincerity in customer service and her ability to have pleasant conversation about films. I would like to see more representation of people of color at this specific location as this is the primary historical demographic this community has served. It is Chinatown and historically had a huge Indigenous population as well. I would be more eager to attend this location if that was represented in the front line of this Cineplex.
Good selection of box office hits and global independent films. Doesn’t get overcrowded even outside of the pandemic.
It's very disappointing today. Went to watch a movie at international village today. And mid-way to my movie the fire alarm was set off again. This is second time happen to me. I been only in this theater twice and it's a low down if the fire alarm gets sets off regularly.
Other than the food court, the mall is very dated and is comparable to Coquitlam's Henderson Place.
Very nice and big cinema. On-site parking. Part of a mall, so you can do some shopping before/after. Wide variety of choices for drinks! Only minus: paying for parking was confusing. Supposed to be free for cinema guests (during time of the movie). If you come earlier, you allegedly have to pay but Impark states the first 2 hours are free. Different staff were giving us different information.
The screens are pretty small for many auditoriums. Plus their TimePlay keep crushing... so many missed points that I could have earned. The theatre is old in general. They could update the decorations a bit.
Comfortable seats great staff
The website sucks and is super hard to navigate to buy tickets. For the money they make the should try a little harder to make there website more user friendly. Right now it's down and it won't even load. What a surprise.
I had my first experience at this movie theatre and I have nothing to complain about one bit. I went to a tues late night showing of "Crazy Rich Asians" last week all alone on a spur of the moment visit. There were only approx five or six of us in theater prob because this movie has been showing for a very long time, since August I believe. I was very impressed with the ticket pirce which was only 8 dollars and change!!! Very affordable,at least I think this is alot cheaper than most other nights of the week? I'm not too sure about the prices of popcorn, soda, treats, etcetera cuz I didn't purchase anything else besides the movie ticket. Definitely going back at those rates for other showings in the near future.
One spot inside the actual theater (#6) smells stronly like pee. Up where we were sitting was fine, you'd think they would rug doctor it or something. I love the seats though, very tall person friendly, bathroom was clean but could use another one or more stalls.
When I was there for an afternoon showing, there was a huge line-up for the ticket office and only one ticket seller. I had to purchase my ticket using the app. If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t had time to grab anything from the concession stand and make it to see the beginning of the movie with limited seat selection. The movie itself had the usual TimePlay before anything else. There were a couple of advertisements, which was pleasant, followed by a few movie previews before the main feature. I believe the movie started right as promised which was very rare for a Cineplex experience. Everything else was great. Seats reclines and are very much like the seats offered at Cineplex’s UltraAVX screens (pleather-like material, cup holders folds up for more arm space). Washrooms were clean and tidy. Concession stand was quick and offered fresh popped popcorn unlike other Cineplex theatre where the popcorn stood behind a plexiglass display case. This theatre was quipped with the Coke Freestyle machines so the flavours of your favourite coke & Mr Pibb are here!
Pretty large place. Comfy seats and the theatres aren’t to large. Nice friendly staff. Lots of free parking available.
As a first timer in Canada, it was a great experience to watch a movie there ????????
Free parking, clean theater and washrooms. Great seats, plenty of leg room. Nice staff. Can arrive 15-30 minutes and still have good seats.
Theatre itself is nice but the location is not very great. The ground level and food court level smells really bad ????
Today I wasn't too happy at this movie theatre. Because I explained to "heather" at the front desk, I would like to watch the movie "Hollywood Abbey" for 9:30pm. And she deliberately gave me a different movie which goes by the name of "Once upon a time in Hollywood" at Auditorium 11 for "9:00pm". How rude of heather to do such a horrible horrible thing to her guest. You can imagine the rush I was into as well with a medium drink in my hand, with a small popcorn and two hotdogs. It was a mess ☹????????. Only to realize I got into the wrong theatre and missed half of the movie which I actually supposed to watch when I first arrived there. Long story short, I got back my money's worth refunded back into my account. Overall great movie theatre indeed I really enjoyed the fact they have an elevator all the way up towards the top of the movie theatre. It's really close to the basketball court. But horrible horrible customer service on "heather" part????????????????. She really ruined my movie indeed... Boooo????????????.
This whole mall, and theatre, always have an air of desperation about them. A sort of desolate drowsiness. But that's probably what I love about it. The popcorn's too greasy, the staff is too bored, but who cares? The movies are big and loud and spectacular, and you often only have to share the theatre with a few other people, which I also love. (Though it might not be the best business model!) The best part is the eclectic programming: Hollywood blockbuster rubbing shoulders with international indie. International Village, indeed!! And I dig it the most.
A classic theater that was built in the 1999. A lot of retro aspects from the 90s and less patrons than other theater. The washroom are much cleaner than other Cineplex location. Also free parking in mall and conveniently close to skytrains.
No security ! We got locked in the mall after movie. Took 15min to get out. Dirty and not organized
Movie started late, many of the seats were broken including a whole row that was loose, pretty much got kicked out once credits started. Maybe don't schedule your movies so close together or don't show 30 minutes of commercials before it starts and you won't need to rush people out.
The cineplex here is pretty good it’s like any other theatre you would find
Enjoyed myself so much (went alone). Watched The Farewell, sweet movie. The popcorn were bomb and they serve you a lot, don't matter the size. They also have a bunch of sodas to pick from but one of the machines didn't work. Snacks are more expensive than the ticket as usual.
I personally am not a fan of cineplex, in comparison to landmark cinemas,...but if i have to review this location, it would rate low in uniqueness ( except its location, which is very strategic)
Was crazy busy, half the self service machines were out of order. Line to buy tickets and line to get in are in a tiny area so everyone's packed in. Once you get through that there's lines to get food, then more lines to fill up the drink. Took 30 minutes to get through everything and I bought the tickets online.
I love this theatre, lots of character. Walking through the mall to get there is always a treat because it's so weird and kind of dated (the neon everywhere). The escalator to the theatre itself though is terrifying.
Late at night, I went out to the lobby to discuss a concern with a manager. It was after all showtimes had started, so the lobby was cleared out. After several minutes of looking around the theater, I couldn’t find an employee anywhere. There were open doors all over the place to concessions, back rooms, etc, but even after poking my head in to ask if anyone was there, absolute silence. Where’s the staff?
Good location, near the Stadium station. Room was pretty small, but price was fair. Long line-ups for popcorn and drinks. Rooms not often cleaned between sessions
Cineplex now losing its edge... Place was a mess, no more refills on popcorn, still can't reserve seats.
Terrible. They have zero idea how to operTw a movie theatre. Massive line just to get into the theatre after you buy tickets. No other Cineplex theatre has this problem. Then there was a second massive line to get into the theatre. They …
Nice theatre with comfortable seats. Different movie options than Scotia bank theatre. Free parking in the mall. The popcorn bags leak butter though, which I found out the hard way, so don’t keep popcorn on your lap or seat :(
I like coming for movies that are nowhere else near me. My only complaint is the automatic ticket service is one floor down instead of on the same as the cinema.
A little older but still a very nice cinema with stadium seating
Clean movie theater in a sketchy area of downtown. Additional star for the reclining seats
Does the job fine, nothing too fancy
Went and saw a screening of Creed 2 here, and was blown away by the professionalism and staff. Great experience. I don't really ever go to this mall, or this theater, but was delighted by the photos and classic quality of the hallways, and …
Spacious theatre. Short elevator ride to get there. Great staff!
The theater is OK. The parking is horrible. You can get a ticket just for seeing a movie. The sign from the theater says don't pay for parking. If you don't, you get a ticket. $80. It's insane. Take it to the manager and they MAY be able to fix it. Ridiculous.
Another decent theatre. Maybe an upgraded VIP area, but not sure if the neighbourhood fits that toe of service level.
OK to go and watch movies don't show anywhere else but still I prefer more my local cinema place... Fifth Avenue...
Good theatre with a great selection of movies.
I don't know if they have fleas or bed bugs, but every time I've gone there, I've gotten bit. I went this past Sunday and same thing again...got two bites on my ankle. Sad because the entire theatre is carpeted, even the walls.
Great movie & clean theatre!
Great vibe and service definitely coming back to this restaurant we really enjoyed the tasty food they have and looking forward to try more!!! Our waitress took care of us 100%
If you buy tix online and can't make it (traffic or anything else) they won't allow a credit. Had a similar problem at Scotia Theatre and was no problem to credit or see next showtime.
The theater itself is in need of a renovation, and it's up on the top level which takes longer to get to than it should (slow elevators). But this theater is the Cineplex that is more likely to have less mainstream films, which is wonderful!
When myself and my son went to watch a cartoon 2ladies and one man were getting verbally aggressive and I stuck up for myself and my son! They were telling him to shut up because he was laughing and having fun watching this cartoon! Come on!! A cartoon with older people and a man in his 40s! So the Cineplex gave us a free entry card for our next visit plus viewed the people and told them not to go to baby/children movie because they will see children laughing and having fun! Thanks Cineplex ????????✌️
I've been here to watch a movie, which was a great experience. I also attend church here on Sunday at 10am which renews and restores me for the week ahead. I would encourage all to attend both service and a movie at this location.
Good theatres. Nothing more like IMAX or UAVX. Outdated into hat respect. But parking is great. Free for the first two hours.
The theatre itself isn't so bad, it's more so the environment you have to walk through to get into it. It feels like bizarro world walking through nice-downtown Vancouver into this area. Avoid the McDonald's downstairs.
If you're looking for artsy, non mainstream flicks this is the best theater in town. If you're looking for the latest blockbuster it probably won't be here yet
I like this theatre because it's usually pretty quiet here. The arcade is decent.
I think this theatre is pretty good. It has a good selection of new movies and I find it less busy than Scotiabank theatre. You can also park in the parkade for free if you're visiting the theatre, just keep your movie passes as proof.
Great seats in the theatre. Good selection of food.
Love this place! Cineplex at Metropolis is chaos compared to the calm, quiet, clean and simple Cineplex Odeon International Village. I love the carpeted hallway outside of the auditoriums. The whole place was quiet and there were very, very little people. They hung pictures of the old classic movies in the halls like an art gallery. Came here once and never want to go back to Metrotown for movies again.
the cashier wont let me use scene card for multiple payments. is it on the rules or shes just damn lazy.
Typical movie house. Big theatres and lots of different shows (10 theatres). Pricey refreshments
It shows newer films, just not the newest. It is small and tends not to be too busy. Clean, quiet, expensive movie food(when is it not). If you go late at night, the food court isn't open.
Cheap tickets but you'll have to scramble to find a good seat.
I like to classic cinema they run here. Comfortable and affordable
Certain seats are getting old and busted but this particular theater has the old school movie theatre feel to it. So it's always a nice visit. And they play different movies usually then the mainstream theatres.
Biggest plus: cOzY; demerit: the mall can feel sketchy (esp. The public washrooms)
It has many screens and in a good location.. although this place is not clean always
So there I was having a good day until I came to this movie theater. I've had a few unpleasant encounters with the gestapo (I mean staff) in this theater before. It wasn't a case of me doing something bad. It was a case of discrimination. If they think they can treat me like trash just because I'm an immigrant they better think again. It's clear that they've had their eyes on me for some time. I don't think that they keep a picture of me in their files (or do they?), but they sure do remember me and talk about me (something I found out about during my questioning today). No, I wasn't going to show them my ticket because I wanted a scene to develop. Unfortunately, it didn't go that far because someone higher up quickly appeared (a woman in pants and a shirt). Too bad. I just had to walk out of there this time. Perhaps next time I'll be more successful. They better watch out.
Try escalator wild
Cineplex Odeon Village has a great location because of the dining options that there are nearby. Inside the mall there are also quite a few places to shop and buy food, which is nice to have while waiting to watch a film. I've been many times and it was never crowded which resulted in a good viewing experience. It's important to know that this theater never plays the latest releases, so it's good if you missed the latest one and need some catching up to do!
U have to get there early because tickets don't have seat number! The popcorn and the like were way too overpriced.
I love how they screen older films on the big screen.
Really like the fact that there is the food court a floor below where I can grab food before a movie. Also love the more varied selection of independent films that are less often find at other Cineplex theatres in town.
Went here to see the new Conjuring movie (it was lame ????). Seats were subpar and the escalator on the way up was more scary than the movie. One false move and you’re falling 80 feet to your death. Bathrooms were clean, however the signs need to be clearer…
Simply because I love seeing films. And during VIFF, I meet interesting people in the line-up.
Amazing seats and love the staff. I always have a great experience here.
Great venue, reclining seats, and over 100+ drinks!! Even had Coke Zero Cherry!! Mind blown!!
Without this theatre we’d never get to see the weird stuff. It’s up there with Cinematheque or the Rio. Old faithful.
It's a cheap theatre, not sure comfy seats, but good if you don't want to pay a ton for a movie.
Best theatre in Vancouver by far!
This has become my least favorite movie theater. Even if you have a ticket you can't enter the theater area until the movie starts. This means that you have to wait outside. And the staff are very suspicious. Staff came up to me and asked to see my ticket even though I was already sitting and waiting for the movie. Good thing I had my ticket then. Before that I had to learn the hard way to be careful at this place. I was followed, ridiculed and told to leave once just because I couldn't find my ticket, and I was already in the theater area. So the money that I paid was wasted and I didn't get to see the movie. After the way I was mistreated I now try to avoid going to this theater. This place actually has a fine selection of movies but if you go there have your ticket ready at all times and don't come early because they won't let you in until just before the movie starts.
Great food and quiet ambiance in the food court
Kind of a White Elephant place for many of the retail shops here, but the movie theater is a quality place, and 2 hours FREE PARKING underground- I have parked 3 hours free with no problem. The stores that are still open there are unique, but be careful if you wonder outside, as it's close to the rough part of the city.
This has been my favorite cinema in Vancouver, until it was taken over by Cineplex. Cineplex immediately started using it, in part, as a move over cinema and not booking the blockbuster movies in until several weeks after the Scotiabank Cinema bookings. Too bad. The Scotiabank Cinema is not as pleasant a place to go to the movies. It's cold and impersonal. Further, when Cineplex began rolling out their UltraAVX, they did not include the International Village. I'm sure they will likely say there were structural issues that prevented it, however there is no real reason that they couldnt have equipped at least one auditorium. Very disappointing.
Free parking in the underground parking lot for 2 hours. In a mall with the refreshments on one level with a few lineups usually. Standard Cinplex combos for movie goers. Seats are tilt back ones for those who like then.
Cineplex cinemas are all good and the halls' space for each theater is ideal
Been here for Cineplex movies and for hosted events. Love that they let organizations rent out theatres for awesome things like Kabuki. Treats and popcorn are expensive, like all Cineplex locations, but they always put on a pretty good show. Clean, good service, good selection.
I I have been coming since it was Toon Town. Back then the place was deserted, it's a lot busier now. The place is dated, small seats, small screans. But it is still a great place to go and watch a movie.
I give this theatre 5 stars for its free parking for 2 hours downtown. And right by a SkyTrain. So easy to meet friends for a flick.
Cineplex owned and operated . this theatre was one of the last great local competitor until they got brought into the cineplex fold. Thought it maintains its classic Tinseltown architecture it's all cineplex now. Staff and friendly and movie selection is better then the first run theaters, if your looking to watch something different or multicultural this place has some selection
Jennifer was working the ticket booth on March 23rd at 9pm. I was going to watch a movie with a friend of mine so looking forward to a nice evening. Upon paying for my movie I wanted to scan my Scene card on my phone as I don’t carry the physical card with me (Who Does?), her scanner wouldn’t scan it and tried multiple times. She started to get irritated and said I wouldn’t be able to get my points. She didn’t provide me with a solution and I was a little confused as movies are not cheap. So after fiddling around a bit I asked if there was another way to redeem my points. She was snarky in saying I should call customer service to hopefully be able to correct it. She had no intention of providing me with a solution. Upon going into the theatre I got popcorn and asked the agent to try scanning my card again and it worked no problem. I laughed to myself and my friend. My real feedback here is yes I understand technology fails us sometimes. I manage retail store myself and understand that. Jennifer just needs an attitude adjustment and maybe should know that her attitude rubs off on the people she serves. If you don’t like what you do, then please don’t take it out on the people that are trying to enjoy themselves. We had a great time and the movie was great. The theatre is a bit rundown along with the mall. That’s the least of my worries, you have more control over the people you hire and how they treat the clients that pay and decide on whether or not they return. I hope Jennifer reads this.
Nice theatre complex. Very friendly staff. Easy access from Stadium/Chinatown SkyTrain.
I love the selection of films they show here and I like the modern drink dispensers and the variety of drinks you can get. I don’t love this mall, but apart from that it’s a good spot. You can use the Cineplex vouchers available in Costco here that are great value.
Its good place inside a small mall area but mall is closes early so if you go to watch movie at night you wont find much open
Good theatre but enjoyed it more before they switched companies and it was cheaper.
Free 2 hour parking, the nicest staff, always clean, exceptional and speedy service, made me feel safe and welcomed. Thanks to the team there! The VAFF screening was extraordinary. A great place to host a private screening.
Yes it's a movie theatre in the downtown area but movie experience is sub par according to today's standards. Which is fine but then general admission should not be $13.25, it should be half of this.
Theatre seats need an upgrade.located at nice and convenient place.
Awesome movie theatre. Never too busy and always had interesting films playing as well as box office hits.
Parking is free if you watch a movie, that is always a positive. The theater was nice and clean. I watched Storks with my nephew so there were plenty of kids, but that wasn't much of an issue. The popcorn was good, but they do charge for the butter. The prices are cheap (in comparison to San Diego) and it was not hard to get a ticket. My main issue is the mall it is located in. I hate heights and it is on the third floor. The elevator is slow and old, giving the feeling that it could give at any moment. The escalators and stairs are also steep. Although maybe I should just get over my fear of heights.
Lovely and lovely place. Went there at the event of VIFF. Many screens for variety of movies to watch.
I've been going to this Theater for years. I must have seen a movie in every one of the theaters 10 times over. However there is only One Womens Washroom in the entire location. One Washroom that has 6 (including a Disabled) stalls. And woe is you if you get caught in a line up OUTSIDE the door. Maybe a Reno and/or 2 more Female Washrooms added, will make a major difference to the experience.
There are a lot of theatres in one place so you get a wide choice of movies. They show good movies and the seats are very comfortable. You can get 2 hours free parking as well. It is close to the sky train and within walking distance from the Stadium China Town station.
Place is clean, I find the seats are tight. No issue with car parking, as they have plenty in the mall parking. Just don't park outside coz its not a very safe place especially at night.
I like cineplex oden ive been going there since it was called tinseltown. The food there is pretty decent for the doller it costs
Food selection is a bit weak
If you want to watch a movie and not being pressure by a big crowd, this is the place you want to go.
Hardly anyone in the audience, just me and another person, but a nice movie (documentary about Julia Child.
The staff were super nice!!
Big screens and comfortable seating. A good place to watch your favourite movie.
The mall that this cinema is in was near empty when we went on a Sunday early afternoon. The cinema itself was pretty decent. I liked that the seats were leatherette and not cloth like some of the older theatres out there.
Dull theater. Turns on bright lights during credits to rush you out, even tho you paid $15. No dimmers allowed. Sound: good. Staff: stay away from them. Buy tickets at the automatic dispensers on 2nd floor in Food Court. Not many machines left as they keep breaking down and are not replaced.
Had a great selection of movies and comfortable cinema, would recommend!
Great selection of films and food from all corners of the world on the second floor
This was just my second time to see a movie in this cinema. My friends and I saw Unexpectedly Yours :-) The cinema (theater 5) is clean and the thermostat is set just right. TIP when you're watching a Filipino film (or the more popular titles for that matter), buy your ticket online because it can get pretty crazy on the counter, especially on a Tuesday. Glad we did so we just went straight to the ticket check, skipping the box office.
Quiet theater that serves up some of the more artsy, non-serious movies. Interior needs to be spruced up a bit
A little long in the tooth, but still a comfortable theatre with modern stadium seating. This is a great place to see lesser known movies.
Lots of independent and foreign films. Never very busy.
There was a small mix up on the website I clicked for this location but it sent me to park and tilfords location instead talked the the manager Erwin and he let us watch the movie here great service and super kind and understanding
My favourite Cineplex theatre. They continue to screen limited run and foreign films that are hard to find elsewhere. When Cineplex took over this theatre from Cinemark I was worried it would lose its vibe but thankfully they mostly stuck to what made that theatre unique for many years.
Good selection of films, pretty good theatres. Screens aren't the biggest and some chairs are worn out but overall enjoyable. Usually one of the only Cineplex cinemas in Vancouver that shows indie movies with a long run which is great. Great location also.
It was not nearly as complicated to get in as we thought it might be. The staff was very helpful in validating the vaccine passport and ID with minimal confusion or difficulties.
Don't go here often but I know it has older movies and more international movies.
The theatre itself is ok, but I hate the building it resides in. Has a bit of a faux old world cinema feel to it, which I appreciate.
Very charming cinema. They have a practical way to print the ticket bought online.
This place is huge. great theatre and the place was not to slow even though it was packed
Dec 18.. COVID protocols & potential lockdown has left the theatre sparsely attended; existing staff are doing their best to keep place clean & tidy. Well done
It's wonderful. The theaters are huge The mall itself seems old but the theater is amazing. It's way way better than I anticipated Do watch a movie here
Food is as good as other Cineplex theatres. The seats are very comfortable .
Amazing cinema well equipped and kept many theaters and good drinks &snacks are also available
Movie theater we were in started to leak copious amounts of water on to the seats in front of us for about half an hour. Upon alerting the theatre staff, they walked in and did nothing nor did they offer us complementary tickets.
Good place to see movie. Parking is free.
Pretty good theater for a chain. They still host many indie movies and support things like film fest and other community events. Always have pleasant experience with staff there.
The show was listed as a 4:20 pm show. The feature did not start until 5 pm. Forty minutes of ads is totally unreasonable. Avoid this cinema and start a complaint campaign, please.
The screen was small and sound was lackluster. I guess I'm just used to the nicer Cineplex theatres.
Watched black widow, nice experience, everything is nice. The ticket window is however closed may be due to covid however staff assistance/help is available if someone needs help in booking through the internet .
I found nothing wrong with this movie theatre. Thought it was going to be a dodgy one at first, but it wasn't. I enjoyed it
"it's not the Ritz" but it's a cinema. Kinda old and worn out, and the rest of the mall is average at best, it meets the obligations of a big screen experience.
Good selection of less popular and foreign movies. Not usually too busy and theatres are well maintained. Ticket sales and concession are almost guaranteed to have no line, and service is as expected. Only time it ever gets busy is during VIFF or other special event.
The theatre itself is fine but the area is not a favorable part of town.
Older but spacious theatre. Decent food. Drink dispensers have countless options!
Always a great selection of movies and times. Good seating too!
Multi-Cinema is great, parking is free, and usually has many family oriented movies in addition to the new releases. The international Village is located in downtown Vancouver is a not-so-fancy neighborhood.
Always a great experience.
Selection is very small for the foods the good thing is the nachos are delicious and the other food is just okay. The theatre room for movies the room a bit too small. The staffs are very friendly and nice too.
The Cineplex Odeon is located in a mall called tinseltown right next door to the entrance to Chinatown it's also a ten minute walk to the science center and gastown
Very convenient theater, good free underground parking and easy to get to.
Nice cinema, chairs are comfortable enough and plenty of different auditoriums
The New Year's Eve André Rieu 70th Birthday Concert...2 and a half hours of Bliss!! Great seats, Great sound.
One of My favorite cinemas in Vancouver. It's not too big, but not too small, usually lots of seating. They play big films but a lot if indies as well. There's a foodcourt on the 2nd floor too if you want a quick bite.
The movie theatres are fine but nothing special. Keep in mind that you get free parking for the first three hours, which is great.
My friend and I like the artsier movies, and they all get shown here! The mall it's within is so quirky and fun, too. It's a great time.
First time in this cinemas and I love it! They're criminally underrated.
Super friendly, brought my 3 year old and they were super understanding
Not always current box office movies, but if you don't mind wait for a few weeks and free parking, then pick this one
Theatre is great, but not the best area of town.
I lovey it here...out of the way....off the beaten track...relaxed...cool vibe...great staff...swell little théâtres...great best kept secret...
Went to see a showing of A Star is Born. There was an altercation with an intoxicated patron and the movie had to be stopped. Props to the management, staff, and security who handled everything so professionally and de escalated the situation.
This mall is like walking through the remnants of a boom town when their mine got shut down. Dimly lit, functional but without amenities, escalator stairs, it is a place in despair. Went to see Coco on my second last night in Vancouver and while the movie experience wasn't ruined by the theatre, it is definitely in my bottom five Cineplex theatres in Canada.
The theatre I watched Mr Holmes in last week was so freezing cold that I had to actually leave the movie before it finished. And they didn't refund my money either.
This cinema shows the big name movies but also gets independents and Mandarin language films. It is what you would expect from a big box theatre, but the advantage is that they are in gas town and have free parking.
Theatre was a typical movie experience, however this building always has this really gritty dirty east side feeling. Would recommend socitabank or even fifth ave cinemas instead.
Customer service seemed she lacked kindness, at least smile a bit, I clearly asked for a large drink with my order, she didn't hear that, so had to reuse card payment, asked for butter 1/2 way through bag popcorn and on top as well...my popcorn seemed quite dry with no butter. Asked for a bit butter in a cup...she tried recharging me for it, told her I requested extra in my popcorn, but was so dry!! Other than that, nice quiet theatre.
Some of the most comfortable seats in a theatre. Often empty during late night shows.
Preferred over Metrotown and Scotiabank locations. This theatre is honestly great and generally quiet.
Great place to catch an evening flick. Parking is free for movie goers.
Good theater! Just should have free refills on popcorn & pop. Only fair!
This theatre needs to be updated!
Don't watch a movie in auditorium 2. Really uncomfortable seats and ultra small screen.
good seats, never packed, if you want to see a superhero movie in full costume they will let you, selection is a bit limited
It's ok. I just didn't like the fact that they can only scan one scene card when other movie theaters can scan unlimited scene card. I was really upset since there were 4 of us but my friend who paid for the movie was the only one who get to scan his card. And they don't have kiosk which sucked for a bit. Anyway I enjoyed the movie.
It is the spitting image of every other big movie theatre on the planet. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible.
It's a movie theatre, seats are good. Don't forget to go on Tuesdays for the cheaper tickets.
Decent movie theater, but doesn't offer a large selection of movies.
I don't like the vibe of this whole building, too much things everywhere, cinema doesn't feel like one, avoid going here if you can and go to scotiabank theater which is not far along
Awesome cinema, so happy they are open again :)
At the top of the funkiest mall Vancouver has to offer is the city’s tiniest mega theatre. The kids working here are showing the world they have what it takes to work and do a good job; it shows because the place is clean, well run and they’re helpful and polite. The best thing about this theatre are the black and white pictures along its hallways that harken back to the golden age of film. These framed pictures show a personal touch that management or the owner has lent that brings out something not found in Cineplex theatres. What I’d like to see is one of their dozen theatres permanently dedicated to showing retro movies. We have a century of film behind us; put some of it ahead of us to remember what cinema once was. Overall, a unique place hidden on the 3rd storey of a strangely designed building between Crosstown, Chinatown & Gastown.
I like this movie theatre specifically for more indie movies or movies that aren't shown at some of the larger, more popular Cineplex theatres. Watched weathering with you and Jojo rabbit in the past, and I likely will be back in the future when more interesting movies come out. I'm glad to have this Cineplex option for these lesser known/limited release movies.
what's with all the lame stupid reviews? worst area in North America? jeez ! stay home and watch your big screen TV if you are afraid to venture out into the big bad dangerous world where you might see an unwashed panhandler ! this theatre is fine! staff is courteous! what's not to like?
I had the most amazing thing happen last night. I had a coupon for a free movie on a box of cereal. I had a very rough month, and needed to treat myself to a movie to get away. I punched in the code for the coupon on my computer at home, and it told me the ticket was successfully purchased, and I was being sent a confirmation email to my hotmail account. I went for a long, rainy walk, from East Vancouver, to the theatre. Arrived soaking wet, tired, and ready for my movie. I went to grab my email confirmation form my phone, and there was no email. I was so crushed. Looked through all my folders, also my gmail account, just in case I read it wrong...nothing. I lined up anyway, told the boy at the desk my situation, and asked if I could find the ticket from my Scene number. He sadly replied "no, I'm so sorry". But he called his manager right away. The manager heard my story, asked to come back 15 minutes before the movie to see if anything had shown up by then. I went to grab a snack, then went back at the time he suggested. Sadly, still no email. Figured I'd talk to them again anyway. The boy at the desk instantly remembered me, and guided me to the employee who checks the tickets. They both knew exactly what was going on, and without any hesitation, told me to go on in. No charge. I was stunned. I had no proof of the coupon for them, and somehow I ended up being treated like a celebrity. I asked for the manager's name, but the ticket boy didn't know which manager it was. I'm sure he would remember though. Thank you, so much. You truly made my day. (It was the 7:15pm viewing of Safe Haven, Wednesday February 27th.)
Quite dated & small compared to the other cinemas in the Vancouver area, but also often quiet compared to others. Movie selection is decent most of the time
Free parking, where can you get that in Vancouver?? Seats are comfortable. Screens and sound are good Lineups are never bad. Concession stand, like all other movie theatres, is crazy expensive. Nice staff
Screen quality and latency is terrible. In addition the sound lack any of the new Atmos features. Such a shame for a movie theatre in such an amazing location.
Most unorganized theatre. No staff to control or form lines. Customers form lines at escalator landing so no place to get off escalator safely! Not one set of stantion or ropes to help customers know where to wait. Movie started 20 minutes later then scheduled. Lousy concessions. Will NEVER go to this theatre again. Ridiculously poor management.
Great selection of movies, different than the Scotiabank theatre lineup
This would be a good place to watch movie if after a Chinatown dinner, you would not like to drive too far or in walking distance. The location and parking is easy, it just that the movie collection is not the biggest film, sometime you can even find some nice 2nd tiler movies that are not shown in bigger cinema. Some may refer the Chinatown area too close to the beggers and drug dealing on hasting, isn't that similar to what it was like in downtown Vancouver in the 90's, looks how they changed downtown now with creative commercial initiatives, new apartments and jobs opportunities
A little worn from years of showing movies, but still a great place to catch a movie + free parking...so there's that!
Just the staff seems unhappy and thus they treat you like stock instead feeling you welcome. Love the alternative films they have, nice variety.
good theatres, safe.
First time attending a movie theatre in a mall. Reminds me of the theatrea you'd go to as a class in gradeschool. Quaint and gets the job done. Questionable part of town after dark but thats hardly their fault.
Great location and a greater variety of movies play here...and parking for moviegoers is 100% free!
Is not the best in town is not the worst just an other cinema, the zone do not help at all but the service is as usual, good.
(5⭐️) Amazing location. Not a popcorn out of place. Place is immaculate. Not one popcorn on their floors. It was 1.5 hrs after they opened (5⭐️) The bathroom is spotless. Doesn’t smell. (5⭐️) The chairs are nice, in good working order. (3⭐️) time play major fail (it malfunctioned during my second movie and everyone who was tuned in to time play got booted off the wifi right after session started ) (5⭐️) Air conditioning is perfect not cold but not too low either. They aced it 5⭐️ (5⭐️) both escalators working. (4⭐️) sadly no assigned seating option at ticket booth, also. The booth made it hard to hear them when they were reading off the booklet for show times. And. The boy I had didn’t seem to want to check for me before I ordered. I was trying to make sure my two movies would meet up and I’d be able to get out of show #1 in time to get into show #2 before it started (time play) Overall. I still give them 5/5⭐️ for this location.
Fire alarm came on at the final two minutes of my movie, received two free admissions because of that, wish it happened more!
We've come here often and loved it, but last night the parking sucked. The Canucks were playing so the underground parkade was a nightmare. Couldn't find parking so left. I wish they had pay parking like years ago. What a waste of time
When you hike through the mall to get here the theatre is good. Nice to have a quiet spot and no lineups during mid week too.
Great theatre. Usually not too busy .
International Village is not a new building. But it is extremely clean, despite the dilapidated neighbourhood. Great films. Good parking, but I always take transit, which is less than 2 blocks away at Stadium station. Grab a hotdog at …
Love this theatre! The most comfortable seating in Vancouver, free parking and because it's not a first run theatre, the crowds are light.
Sometimes they play great movies, but the theatre itself is a bit underwhelming, it has solid chairs, but really hasn't had too much attention since it was purchased by Famous Players, and the mall itself isn't very nice, it has interesting shops from time to time but can't seem to keep any tenants.
Great during the pandemic, whole theater to ourselves
Great seats, great prices, great movies. Could use better foot rests but overall awesome experience.
I like the movies because they play tons of new releases and they sell nice snacks that are fit for a movie
Classic "old schooly" Cineplex..Mind all the panehandlers and drug addicts out front of this mall..Rough part of VanCity to be sure!..Lots of art films sprinkled in with top Hollyweird draws shown here...Decent!
Theatre experience is great. But would not recommend late night movies due to location.
I love this place i livr right bye it so i cpuld see the movies and eat Mcdonalds anytime o want lol but yeah .
Fire alarm went off in the theatre. There was no evacuation plan in place. Lights stayed off and no one came to help us evacuate. It was dangerous exiting the theatre in the dark. We reach the lobby, no direction from the staff. After a few minutes in the lobby, the alarm goes off and they send us back into the theatre. The movie never stopped while we were out so we missed part of the movie. They came in after a few minutes and tell us they're rewinding the movie by 5 minutes. We still missed a couple of minutes. They are lucky it wasn't anything serious because they had no evacuation plan in place in case of an emergency.
The quality of the projection and screen was so poor. We watched WEST SIDE STORY and the real brightness, resolution and highlights of the movie were significantly decreased on the screen. It was even hard to see colors for such colorful dance scenes! Great cinematography got spoiled there! They really need to upgrade their projection system.
Lots of movie choices. Nice reclining seats. Good quality complex. Free parking if going to cinema.
Theater is a bit dated and old and the seats are a bit worn out. On the plus side, the theater usually isn't very busy so it is quieter. Theater has a good selection of movies. Location is conveniently by the skytrain station.
Free parking and easily accessible. Though the theatres are fairly small this is still a nice location.
Went to the BTS Love Yourself in Seoul showing at 4:30 pm today. Absolutely horrific. People were screaming and lighting up their lightsticks, and talking non-stop throughout the movie. There wasn't a single employee around to re-enforce rules, so I ended up telling people myself to respect other movie-goers by turning off their lightsticks and keeping their chanting and screaming to a minimum. Of course, because I wasn't an employee, they responded by cussing me out before screaming and screeching even more. Completely ruined the experience for me.
Reasonable facilities, but had to sit through 30 minutes of ads, plus previews before the movie started - 40 minutes after the published start time.
Seats are mostly damaged in Aud 09 Quality of popcorn is not the same as other Cineplex Sound system was horrible at Aud 09 No sign or direction on the main floor where the theatre is located
Free parking, movie food and etc. this place has all the usually movie theaters amenities but is clean and quiet
They show more obscure movies that aren't shown at the other theatres. They have Timeplay which would be a redeeming feature had they had not reduced the prize value tremendously. There's a small arcade of games from decades past. They have a coke free-style machine. There are stairs, escalators and elevators to get to the theatre. The chairs are fine and there are cup holders on the arm rests.
Have not been here for five years. I forgot how clean it was. The seats recline and the snacks affordable.. saw John Wick and it was awesome. Thanks we'll be back for discount Tuesday on a rainy night.
The theater #5 had no "soundproofing" sound from next theater movie playing was a full action film. Also I was disappointed with the lack of choices at the concession. Having to grab Hotdogs + Pop only. And the positive was the Movie price..With many different genres. C.D.
Such chaotic crowd control that we nearly missed our movie, in spite of pre bought tics. Complained on website, one brief response 2 weeks later, then nothing
Decent movie theatre. It would be nice if they did some renovations.
A place to see movies. Great times always had. Clean theatres and amenities
Nice theater. Good seating. Good place to see international movies!
The seating is nice but they are narrow. They do not recline and they are a little worn. The concessions are very good and the drinks are self serve so that is nice.
While rather small, this is still a multiplex, with 12 theatres inside. 8 and 9 are the biggest, but I can usually find a decent seat in any theatre. The seats are not that comfortable, but this place does show a lot of indie flicks not …
Easy parking, always free parking available unlike most other movie theatre’s in Vancouver
small, doesn’t have D-box I believe, and you can sometimes hear the movie that’s playing in the theatre next you (mostly explosions or intense music usually only action movies). The pro about this theatre is that it lines are short and very quick. Good theatre if you just want to watch a regular movie and don’t need any of the extra stuff (D-box, Ultra AVX ect...).
I visited on a Thursday night. The lineups were minimal, and the concession workers were pretty efficient. However, my experience was dampened by how many things were out of order! In one washroom, three of the four sinks were out of order and 2 of the 5 toilets were out of order. One of the three drink machines was also out of order. I find it concerning when a business chooses not to repair such basic amenities.
Free parking, comfy seating, big list of children's movies, and air hockey for after the movie. All good.
Nice place, deeply sloped so you don't have to worry who's going to be blocking your view. Ppl still have to be told to shut up during movie (mid. âge, should know better)
Amazing film and experience and environment with classic film boards on the walls.
A Greate place in china town can have fun and buy your needs.
I am writing to thank the staff for their cool, calm, and collected way they dealt with the crazy lady that was yelling at the poor front door man asking why she needed to provide a vaccination card and ID. Angel, good work buddy. I would have lost my cool long before you.
This is an okay movie Theatre. It is a little older and the mall it is part of is really run down.
The theatre was fine, just not in a salubrious part of town.
Average theatre experience with older seats. If you need/want reclining seats not a theatre for you. Liked it better when it was a Landmark cinema before the current Odeon operators, at least with Landmark they had better matinee pricing as well as selection of movies, made the basic seats tolerable.
First class Theatre excellent comfortable seats and executive washrooms
One of the nicer theaters.. the escalator up to the theater is a little scary if you have problems with heights.
I've been coming here since they opened! Staff over the years have been consistently friendly and welcoming. When you ask for extra butter, you GET extra butter (paid). They host many film festival events, and also tend to have the more interesting, smaller releases. There are 12 cinemas, with 9 and 10 being the two largest. I find people sometimes get disoriented in here... just remember, when you head in from the lobby, turn LEFT for cinemas 1-4, straight ahead for 5, turn right for the rest. 12 is at the very end. Bathrooms are right near cinema1, and also next to cinema 11. This is a lovely place to see a film!!
Always a favourite for the family
Good for independent and international films. Gets the blockbusters during "second run". Earn Scene points when you see a movie and make food and drink purchases.
great seats but all the food popcorn at cetera is a very expensive
So easy to get to. I saw the movie Judy, I thought it was s great one. What a horrible life she had from a very young age..
Good theatre, quiet. Bad quality popcorn, stale candy, and hardly any drink options compared to other locations. Had a good time though:)
Good theatre and free soft drinks. The popcorn was expensive though with a large costing $10.50.
Nice seats nice air nice screen no people were rude watching nice sounds
No one cleaned the theatre before the movie started last night
This place does feel a bit like it's waiting to die. That said, it has free parking and does occasionally screen movies outside of the typical hollywood blockbusters, which is nice.
Place is kind of old and in need up upgrades. Eerie feeling in there sometimes with staff not talking and just watching. Mini Arcade that sometimes works.
Great movie theatre likely the only one in Vancouver proper to have free parking.
The cinema itself was ok. It could have used a clean from the last movie. For the price I would expect a little better.
Love coming to this place for the English subtitled movies. Older cinema but clean. Fast, efficient, friendly counter service. Gave it the 5 Stars for having free parking for movie goers. ????
On Sundays this Cineplex is home to my Coast Church, where Jesus is gentley preached unto Salvation and the love of God is shared! Come check it out this Christmas Season! All are welcome!
many saints of Newark: 1 star
Nice theatre, but kind of awkward to leave for late night showings because most of the doors out of the building are locked
Was initially served popcorn that definitely was not fresh and did not taste like it had the requested additional butter applied. Sophia was quick and happy to remedy this for me. Thank you for maintaining the integrity and level of service I’ve come to expect from Cineplex International Village.
I love the free parking. There is a great selection of films shown here and the staff and management has kept the place clean overall.
Frozen 2 an true masterpiece of family movie. Great theme and character development as well as amazing customer service.
Very comfortable. Only one person selling tickets with a large line.....otherwise fine
The cinema is kind of old, but is fairly empty
Seats r comfy but not very wide.they lean back nicelt though without bothering the people behind u
Movie experience is very good, but location in an older mall is not.
I know that they have to play some commercials, but this is insane. We're 20 mins after the play time for an hour and a half long movie with no end in sight. How are they still going?!?!
Worst service! Staff was very rude, she slammed the cup in front of me and my friend. Washroom was super dirty ( toilet paper was everywhere near the sink?!) Will never watch movie at this location ever again!
Beautiful cinema. Usually I don't go often to see movie but I funded this cinema very clean and organized for the seats choose and everything. I really recommend this place for family and teenagers . And good vision
enjoyed the movie .. seats recline so was more comfortable to sit .. and staff was quick with service and polite . enjoyed the movie
Love this place - I like the architecture - clean and decent
Great spot to watch movies. Seats are a bit tighter but they are comfortable. Prices are a bit cheaper too. Good location.
Very friendly staff. Disability seating is not within touching distance of the screen (thankfully).
It was an ok experience. Half the concession registers were closed which made for really long lines on a Friday night. But I'm happy they have free parking !
AWFUL I WANT A REFUND PLUS MORE I SAW 2 MOVIES HERE YESTERDAY, LIGHTHOUSE IN NO 6, AND MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN IN NO 12. THE MOVIES WERE EAR PIERCINGLY LOUD. I MEAN PEOPLE JUST TALKING ON THE SCREEN WILL HURT YOUR EARS. ON TOP OF THAT, LIGHTHOUSE SOUND WAS OFF CENTRE, PULLED TO THE RIGHT.
Centrally located in international village... Nice architectural building. Friendly theater staff Shops Food court T & T supermarket Many hi rise around it..8-10 A good tourist downtown spot. I am very impressed at the lively escalators going in multiple directions...a big good looking mall.
free parking is always a plus, the air conditioning was not as cool as I'd like but overall I was very entertained. after the movie when I exited it was definitely way hotter outside.
Good place not many people this time
Nicely laid out and in a convenient location. Seats aren’t the most comfortable but the auditorium has pretty decent sound and picture quality.
Not my fave location cause heights, escalators earthquakes and nachos funk. Lots of movie selection though
It isn't as busy as other locations but that's exactly how I like it. This theatre is older inside but still well maintained and doesn't affect the overall movie experience. It has a food court below it, offers free parking and once your movie is done, you can do some grocery shopping at T&T or Costco.
Was my first time going to see movie in this theater and I enjoyed it and the seats recline I love that ! Was able to sit back and relax while watching the movie :)
Best theatre in downtown vancouver. Free Parking, great seats and great theatre.
Nice and cosy theatre..
Decent theater, plays some movies that are on their way out of theaters. Not overcrowded
Big and comfortable theatre rooms, great sound and nice snacks.
Nice Cinema but this is the second time that my car get broken in to down in the parking lot of the international village.
A very good multiplex. One of two multiplexes in Downtown Vancouver. Has a small amount of games. Has a good selection of cinemas. The films shown are a mix of blockbusters, film fest material and arthouse. May lack most features from a Silver City but it still offers a lot.
Even though not allowed other places food but good for enjoying movies. ;)
I go regularly, even alone some. Matinees, free parking. I recommend this place 100%.
Customer service is good. Super clean. Wheelchair accessible. The only thing needs improvement is the food at the theatre's entrance and perhaps some careful training of those beautiful girls. We asked twice for no buttered pop corn but it seemed our request was not considered. The hot dogs were soggy and the salt level very high. I hope it was only a single isolated incident but I would like to report it in case improvements could be made. Kindly, a customer
It's a great place to watch movies. And you can earn points with Scene to get free tickets or food.
Though they may not have the largest screen they definitely have the most comfortable seating as they partial recline.
Without the theaters , this mall is doomed . Its full of junkies everywhere ., the foodcourt washroom is dirty and smelly. I only visit this place because of the cinemas
I been to this location a few times to watch movies. It has free under ground parking and easy to come and go to watch a film. Too bad more people aren't getting out and doing this great event.
Though this theatre is small they offer the most selection in the entire GVA, instead of taking up 5 theatres with one film every one of their screens plays a different film. This theatre offers the $7 flashback films with new selections every week. Their arcade is old and only runs on tokens but their updated drink machines offers dozens of drink flavors to choose from. Great place to grab a Vanilla Coke and watch an old movie on the cheap.
This theatre went ahead with a showing of Call Me By Your Name when the films score was not playing, at all, no music the entire movie. I’d estimate the theatre was 1/3 full. We were met by a supervisor who seemed inconvenienced and annoyed by our complaint and mere surprise that this (full price) viewing had even gone ahead as scheduled. I’ll also note that they were planning to go ahead with the next showing that day with no sound, and no notice to customers in advance. Gave it two stars because the chairs were comfy, and there is still free two hour parking. (**Update: in an attempt to be fair, I think I should add that we were given vouchers to come back and see the film again. Only after we asked for them)
