Went to AVX #1 and it was spectacular! Friendly staff and great popcorn with awesome seats with supportive leg rests. Watched the Last Jedi and regardless of what they say the movie was the best in the Star Wars saga. Loved it.

This Cineplex is definitely not ready to fulfill the experience of VIP as we can receive in a different location. - Liquor license is not there yet.. can't drink inside the auditorium.. this is not mentioned anywhere when you buy the tickets. as it is part of the VIP experience would have been great to mention it somewhere no ? - in the auditorium 3 VIP when you seat last row on the top of the stairs the light of the stairs as terribly conceived that you have them directly in your eyes.. - No Manager to talk to at the end of the movie... or at least the answer given by the employees. - the customer services online of cineplex is one of the worst ever.. c'mon guys.. not that complicated to be polite at least no ? Anyways.. if you are willing to pay for the VIP experience... don't go there and stick to the Marine Drive or other locations... this one is terrible.

Nice theater but worst than Metrotown for the amount of kids here. Worst yet these are stuck up West Van kids. Expect to sit next to girls on their phones and boys throwing up alcohol behind you... Avoid if you actually want to enjoy your movie.

Today is 27 August 2020. The movie Tenet is in theater number four opened at 4:30pm way too loud. The volume was setting way too high. I came out to complaint to the staff and they agreed that the volume seemed to be way too loud. My wife and kids and myself had to cover our ears even during some of the rather peaceful moment in the story. The background music was penetrating our ears... I regreted that I didn't drag my whole family out of the theater in the beginning. It ruined the whole movie experience!

With every seat being a recliner and the space i have been driving from downtown to the north shore. So many theaters are in desperate need of an overhaul with filthy sticky carpets and seats. Nice to go to a brand-new theater in good shape.

I've been here twice and I won't go back. Both times walking through the restaurant the staff either goes out of their way to ignore and make us feel unwelcome. The second time however I paid $25 for a V.I.P. ticket and received NO service. Not a single waiter in our theater. I'm happy to drive a little further to go somewhere where I'm treated like a customer.

Went to the VIP lounge before our movie. Our server Chris assured us we would have our drinks and apps in plenty of time to make our movie. Drinks took ten minutes even though the lounge was empty. Nachos came with a tablespoon of salsa and a tablespoon of sour cream. We ordered the $2.00 guacamole. The guac came in the same tiny plastic cup and contained about a tablespoon. We sent that back immediately after we were told there would be no refills. Our server never did send our coconut shrimp as he forgot the order. (He had one other table) Finally after running out of time for our movie we demanded to speak to the manager. Service was terrible. Value for money is non-existent. We will continue to see movies as the theatre is good but will not spend money in that lounge.

This theatre looks so worn out even though it has only been open a couple of weeks. The floors were sticky, garbage everywhere and the theatre was not cleaned before the film. The “recliner” seats are quite small and only recline the footrest halfway. If you are looking for that kind of seating, I would reccomend going to a landmark cinema. Was very excited about visiting this theatre, I’m honestly disappointed and hope things improve :)

So glad Cineplex has opened in Park Royal. This has been a longtime missing venue for the residents of the North Shore. The cinema complex is one of the newest venues in the area. Sporting VIP screening rooms and a restaurant the is spot on. @50whatnow

So far very disappointed in the VIP treatment. When we went there was basically 20% of the menu available and when we finally ordered burgers which was about all they had, they came back 30 minutes later to tell us there was no more burgers! Who runs out of burgers??? So some of our friends ordered pizza....I can say I am glad I only ate the deep fried pickles because the pizza was like out of a microwave. It was gross and no one could even eat it. Both kinds had a definite smell about them that screamed microwave. Came out soggy and super hot. (hot from a microwave) It took 1.5 hours to get our food so we missed the movie. Didn't actually get to see what the seats were like and the reason we didn't go watch the movie is because we couldn't take our drinks into the theatre. Apparently they will have their license this summer but not sure why they are charging more than $25 for a ticket. If its because you can order the food to your seat, dont bother. Gross food. Hopefully they figure it out, otherwise I will save my money and go to Park & Tilford.

3 stars overall. 5 stars for the actual theatre, seats are very nice brand new theatre. 1 star for the service. Hopefully they figure all of this out. My biggest complaint would be general lack of professionalism and organization. We arrived 15 min before our showing and our theatre wasnt ready yet. We ordered our popcorn at the table and waited. 5 minute before showing we leave the lounge and go to the movie and the theatre is half full so the lounge people didn’t tell us we could go in. 5 min later movie starts and easily 10 people are brought in by staff. It was horrible. All these people trying to find their seats in the dark making noise. They kept bringing food for the first hour. Twice these people tried to serve me food I didnt order. Bathrooms are not individual like they are at gateway. They are not big enough to accomodate 3 vip screens and the lounge. I will keep coming but only because it is so much closer than gateway. But not b/c of the service, in spite of it.

The VIP facilities are new, modern, and have a luxurious feel to them. There is a large lounge with tables and chairs to eat and drink, a large screen TV, and pool table. Inside the VIP cinemas are very comfortable chairs that can be adjusted so one can lay down. Or cuddle too with your partner. Tables for food and large cupholders for drinks. The service and quality of the food and drinks was excellent. The new menu options that Cineplex has been implementing is a vast improvement. The VIP section was also very clean; so are the bathrooms and theatres themselves. Good to see. The only negative I have is that if you are not familiar with the area, finding the entrance as well as where to park is confusing. I think better signage is needed as well as better lighting in the parking areas so that visitors can clearly see the entrance. But definitely worth a visit a night out. VIP is awesome.

The service is not what I expected, the lady who was on a counter didn't even knew how to use the computer or their system. We waited in line for more than 20 mins and it seemed like she doesn't care abit. We left feeling very disappointed.

Service is a bit slow in the theater and extremely slow in the restaurant. Waited 10 min at a table without anyone coming... this has happened multiple times. Hopefully they'll figure out service because it has the potential to be great.

VIP is great. Their one main auditorium is good. Their smaller auditoriums aren’t as well set up with sound compared to other theatres and the AC seems to be spotty in these smaller auditoriums for some reason. During the heat dome, they didn’t even have their ventilation working which made for a miserable experience.

The best cinema I've ever been to. Let yourself soak into the chairs (if you're under 1,8 m). If you're bored of extensive queues for overpriced food, you can spend some moneys on arcade games. Apart from being overpriced to out-of-reach, it's a pleasure to go there. And I almost forgot to mention that some movies are only shown in the 19+ section which upsets me because it's even more expensive. But you get more for about the same price you'd pay in other cineplexes. But still, consider if you need to pay twice the monthly price of netflix for a globalized soulless showcase

Best MOVIE theater in the BC. So glad we finally have a decent theater in west Vancouver. It's much smaller than a lot of the bigger theaters but has all the amenities and more. It's clean and the Staff are friendly and efficient.

I went to this theater for the first time after covid started. The attention in the VIP area is good, busy hosts and servers but all good. The prices of food and alcoholic beverages are just normal like any other restaurant which is nice because normally in VIP lounges the prices go up a lot but not here. Had dinner while watching the movie. The seats were socially distanced which makes the whole experience during this pandemic feel more safe. No one seated next to my seat on each side due to covid protocols, very appreciated Cineplex. The sound was a bit too loud at times but overall great experience.

Terrible customer service. Ticket sales are slow and the workers are not properly trained, and the space is not properly thought out. Not any of the workers fault, they try their best with the limited resources they are provided (one ticket machine for the whole line during rush hour).

For a VIP cinema it was an average experience. Eight staff stood behind the counter chatting and not one would turn around to serve us as we stood there (only ones in line). The place wasn't clean, sticky floors and the drinks area was a mess. It was just an average cinema honestly. Can't say much more than that. At least the movie SpaceJam was good ????

We went to watch Spider-Man at VIP. My seat cup holder had trash in it and the bathroom didn’t have toilet paper or hand soap. I understand that they were busy because of spider man but it was the VIP experience so I was expecting more.

Great movie experience. You can order at the bar and have it delivered to your seats or there is seat service up until the movie starts. Chairs are build for two, the arm goes up so you can snuggle and the legs go in to full recliner. Full menu and bar. Best way to watch a movie

Hey listen, when you want to see a movie, this place is pretty useful. And it's pretty new so it's not grody and doesn't have tons of broken seats! Oh, and they recline and you're breathing in the nachos and onions of your neighbour from a respectable distance, not crammed in like sardines with no leg room for those of us taller than 5'2". Win.

Went for dinner and movies. Ordered a prosecco at the vip section and it came flat and I informed the server who proceeded to bring another one that was flat but never came to check on me afterwards. At the end of the movie, I went to the bar and waited for ten minutes and no one was there and I noticed a party at the back which was the staff party and I spoke to them. The employee who addressed my concerns let me know that they were closed and there was nothing they would do for me as they were closed. I told her that it wasn't right that we would have to pay for a prosecco the was flat and that no one came to check on us. She said I was rude for saying that...rude for wanting bubbles to have bubbles?!??! OK. I asked to speak to the manager who gave me a ticket to come see another movie at any other cineplex. I will tell you this, it was my first time at this location and my last. It seemed like the employees were more concerned about their staff party than their customers. If I could give this 0 stars I would.

As the only movie theater on the North Shore, there isn't many other options for movies nearby. However, out of the options it is by far the best theater in the area. Lots of parking, connected to the mall if you don't want to order food, and many bus routes lead here. The theaters are pretty big, including 2 of the 3 VIP theaters. The VIP experience is where it truly shines, seat-side service, alcohol service, and a wide selection of foods. Though it is pricey, I believe it is worth the few extra bucks you might pay for it. All in all, if you have a choice between this one and the downtown theater, pick this one any day of the week.

After enjoying movies and meals at other VIP theatres, we were looking forward to the opening of Cineplex in our neighbourhood. However, we were very disappointed with the Park Royal VIP lounge. No privacy from the rest of the complex. Lounge is open to the main lobby and directly opposite the video arcade! Noise level was extremely high. A frosted glass wall would help. Marine Gateway and Coquitlam VIP lounges are isolated from the minors, making the movie experience more enjoyable for the high price. Ordered popcorn and a bottle of water. Popcorn arrived, but no water. Asked the same person, who took our order and she said "it will be arriving". But it did not. We opted for the a movie without 3D. But when the movie started, it was 3D! After a few minutes when the staff realized the error, they quickly rushed to hand out 3D glasses, saying we were all receiving an upgrade to a 3D movie! Only positive -- the great recliners. Will return to watch a movie, but definitely will not be having any meals in the lounge, unless they enclose the area.

What a great experience, we hadn’t been to a movie in years, surprise! Comfy clean reclining seats, (I know they’ve been around awhile) clean, my knees don’t hurt after the show! Love that! Really clean and people in the theatre were really respectful with Covid-19! Friendly staff not all but for the most part! Need to reduce pop and popcorn, really $17 for a Lg pop and popcorn, it wasn’t a bucket either! Like, come on, up ticket prices and reduce food prices!

There's no way I am doing normal cinema ever again. VIP all the way with service to your lazy boy chair, heated seats and surround sound almost to your seat. Not the healthiest menu on the planet but a great way to watch an epic movie, get served food and beverages and watch your movie in style. YES to VIP!

The seats were very comfortable. They reclined very far and they were made of leather. They were also clean and didn't have any food left behind. The aisle is very wide so it's very easy to walk past people without interrupting too much. The washrooms are very clean and the screen is awesome. The food is expensive as usual, but this is the best movie experience in the greater Vancouver area.

So many West Vancouver residents were excited about the opening of the new theater at Park Royal. It's been a long time since we've had a movie theater. I believe the new place has been open since July 2019, I believe and still, there are have been very few movies that appeal to mature adults. I think I've seen 3 movies there. The majority of the films aired there appeal to a young, male demographic. How about consistently airing some top ten films that appeal to a broader audience? The seating & sound systems are awesome. Staff are very nice. The parking lot is a work in progress. I like the place and I go all the time if the line up of films was more appealing.

Chairs are comfortable. Lots of food options. The food is overpriced and the reason for the low rating is because on their website, it says they will not provide refills due to sanitary reasons, so you need to get a new bag of popcorn. However, I asked for a refill, and they said I just had to pay... then they used my used bag.

Great movie theatre! Very comfortable seats and very good service. I liked the way you could bring the foot rest up on the seats and the food was perfect. My one star deducted was from the popcorn/drink all over the floor and the counter was all sticky. Other than that, great service!

All the seats are comfortable (so much so that you would fall asleep if you had a long day) VIP has in seat service and all food is made and delivered with in 25mins of ordering the staff is great and they have a pool table! They also have date night deal on Wednesday for a 3 course meal and movie tickets for $65 and $35 for just dinner. Tuesday is tacos and tequilas not too sure and the price but I think it about 15 20. All in all the place has stepped up alot since opening

The reclining (heated) couple seats with as much legroom as a GIANT could ask for, great meals and drinks delivered to your seat (up to the first 15m of the movie ????) make this the only cinema we'll ever go to. Why go to dinner and a movie when you can kill both birds with one stone? Weeknight movie night game changer!

Not the largest theatre but facilities are on par with most cineplex theatres. Seats are great and the theatres are smaller with less seats. At this point you can tell that they only recently opened. Staff need more training but will likely get better with time.

Normally I don't go to ciniplex movies cause the seats aren't great. My comfort level going into the theater during the pandemic wasn't there. This VIP was a great experience and changed my mind about the movie experience. It was nice being served without having to get up and the seats were amazing. The costs are worth the elevated experience.

my daughter and I went there to see pet 2, after 20 min waiting we couldnt buy tickets for 3:45 , it was sold out, the young lady told us to buy the next show which was 4:15, it was odd, I asked her and she reassured us it is available. we bought it and took our seat on 4, immidiately a family came by and claiming the seats and they were right long story short , staff refunded tickets after 20 min waiting without any clear explanation why it happpened in the first place and due to that we missed the show in Odeon as well. my girl was so sad she cried for half an hour and said I never come back so irresponsible!!!

The accessible parking worked out beautifully for us. The service of staff for the 19+ VIP Theatre is wonderful. Unfortunately if you ride a wheelchair, you have to sit at the front underneath the screen. You will have a very sore neck if your wheelchair doesn't tilt!

Don’t usually rate low, but when you pay more for VIP, you expect better quality service. We went into the lounge, they only had one type of bottle of wine out of the whole menu. Our friend struggled getting the whisky he wanted too. We also ordered two spicy chicken burgers. The burgers tasted overwhelmingly of soggy chicken drenched in Frank’s Hot Sauce. The fries were great. Overall, wanted the quality of the food to match the quality of the cinema experience.

I figured if I was going to watch a three hour movie, I might as well splurge and get the VIP treatment with a super comfy leather recliner. Picture and sound were great. The VIP theatres are completely separate from the regular theatre, really making you feel like a VIP. Food service at your seat, bar service available (but alcohol must stay outside the movie) and restaurant quality meals. I found the theatre quite warm. If I wasn't wearing a light t-shirt, I would have been sweating. Trying to find the entrance to this theatre is downright puzzling; what little signage I saw was very confusing and completely inadequate. There is no access from ground level. Your options for access are through the food court area and then snake your way up, or park in the garage and take the elevator to the P5 level.

Service was beyond horrible. We arrived at the VIP theatre at 5:30 for a 6:40 show, and ordered our food. By 6:20 (almost an hour later) we still hadn't received it, so we asked them if they could deliver it to our seats inside the theatre, to which they said yes. When we got our food at 6:30, it was cold, as though it had been sitting outside for awhile. While we were eating, and as the movie started, another server brought our exact same order to us again which of course we turned back. Our experience wasn't a one-off - there were several people in that same showing who were receiving their food several minutes into the start of the movie, or didn't receive their order at all and were complaining. The only good thing I can say about this VIP theatre is the seats are some of the best and most comfortable I've sat in.

I visited this location today in their VIP section, seats were great. But the food that I got was horrible, chicken was super old and chewy like plastic and there was no seasoning on it. They think if they serve food in dark they can serve whatever they want. The food took away all of the joy I had from movie. Will not recommend at all.

Went to a movie last night and was absolutely appalled when I walked in. The drink station was a complete mess, popcorn and drink lids all over the floor, no napkins, your shoes stuck to the floor. So much popcorn under the seats in the theatre, not to mention it smells because it’s not cleaned properly. Stood in line for a few minutes for the ticket agent to take tickets, maybe they should have a ticket agent on both sides to make the line move quicker and it merges with the drink line up because nobody knows which line they are in. This place is an absolute disgrace and I would be embarrassed to recommend it to anyone.

This theatre had the most disrespectful front of staff and the worst service once you get into the actual theatre (for which you have already paid a lot for the tickets). I came with my entire family, and they disrespected my sister (who has a learning disability) and almost turned us away from seeing a movie to which we had pre-bought tickets Once in the theatre we tried to shake off what had happened at the door and enjoy what was left of Christmas Eve, and ordered lots of food and drinks off of the service staff. We tipped generously and ordered food and drinks for 5, and after payment that is where the service ended. They did not answer our numerous attempts to try to order more, or get napkins and WORST of all they forgot 3 items that they charged us for. They never came back and at the end of the movie there was no one there to ask what had happened. I will NEVER be coming back to this theatre and would recommend movie goers BEWARE of this place. For the price and service I would take your money elsewhere.

Saw Star Wars in VIP #3. Everything was great, but everyone in my group thought it was super hot in the theatre. Like, pass out hot! I thought I might have accidentally turned on a seat heater with the front "mystery" button, but my friend beside me insisted he did not touch his mystery button and was equally hot. Overall with this being so new one can expect things to not be 100% smooth. Ideally though a company this big should get it right without any hiccups. But this is the real world we live in so I can except some things to not be perfect. I figure also with Endgame comming out near the finish off this theater they may have decided to push forward it's opening. But if they pick up their service and fix a few nagging issues then this will be my new favorite theater. (VIP lounge seems a bit open to the arcade?). The seats in this place are also something to behold. So great. By far the best movie going experience I have ever had in terms of actual movie watching experience! This review could easily be a 5 star by the next time I go see a movie here if they improve on some points mentioned in other reviews.

The seats were front row and SO CLOSE to the screen you couldn't properly see the movie, it was painful for my neck and my eyes- basically had a headache for 24 hours after. Just finished watching Shazam at Cineplex Park Royal VIP. Recliners were nice although there were bits of food crumbs on the seats and garbage in my cup holder. Theatre smelled nice and new. Server was nice but came over two times within two minutes and I wasn't anywhere close to being ready and still looking at my menu. It would be nice to give me a bit more time to get settled into my seat! Shortly after we ordered, my husbands drink came first and tasted like it needed more syrup. I ordered a float.... that never actually came. Asked the girl that took our order and she said floats come from the kitchen so that's probably why it's taking a bit. So I waited... and waited.... and waited..... and waited even until the movie was over.... it never came. Went to talk to some cast members, they directed us to another guy whom I suspect was either a supervisor or manager... he didn't introduce himself.. didn't apologize... didn't ask us where we were seated.. didn't get any other info from us... didn't ask for our scene card but tells us next time they'll give us something and or coupons next time we come in... how do you give someone something if you don't know any details??? For what he has to deal with, I would expect for him to have at least some sort of empathy (there was none). Very disappointed with this first time experience here at this location. I do understand it's the first week of opening and there's lots to iron out. Maybe my expectations are too high because I've been in customer service all my life but I feel they should have been more empathetic and apologetic especially as a supervisor or manager, in a customer service setting.

The theatre itself was great, love the reclining seats. It all fell apart at the concession and VIP food area. We arrived for the 6:30pm show for the first time snce pre Covid. Really wanted movie Hot Dogs and Popcorn. They were "out of Hot Dogs" and the Popcorn was cold. Annoyed, but they have the VIP area, ordered food from there, Chicken Tenders and Poutine. Waited 25 minutes only to have the tenders cold and the wrong sauce. Get it together people!!!

Probably mostly because it's new, but the sound and projection are high quality, the seats are spacious, and it's just a great place to see a movie. One of the worst establishment. It’s not even entitled to 1 star. I will never patronize this place again. Services at VIP restaurant was one of the worst I have ever encountered. Here’s the story... Seven of us were at The VIP theatre, ordered our food and waited. One of my friend paid for his food but never got his meal. 10 mins after the show started, one of us proceeded to leave the theatre to check on the order, was assured food will come. It never did. After the show, we proceed to the restaurant to get our refund. The manager, by the name of Rebecca J, came by, told us they can’t issue a credit but will certainly give us a VIP credit. We waited and waited for a good 15-20 mins. Doesn’t take that long to get a voucher does it? She came out, said she changed her mind, we should call customer service the next day. She was rude about it, claimed she can’t give the credit because she heard 2 stories now. We were livid because she is implying we ate the food but is now asking for money back. She wants us to leave the theatre or she will call security. We demand to talk to the server, but she says no. She was getting worst now, Will not discuss further. We argued for many minutes, wasted all our time . Eventually security came, heard our stories, agreed with us, but didn’t know what to do, so they left. Police came, by the name of Hoyland from West Van Police force, heard the story , but couldn’t do a thing. Said this was a private establishment, we should take it up with customer service. There was nothing they can do. We wasted 1 hour of our time over this, not because of the money, but it was clearly wrong. I call it stealing. Clearly Cineplex West Vancouver need to re visit their staff behaviour and service.

The overpriced popcorn is amazingly TERRIBLE: dry as the desert; inconsistency in flavor so that one is like chewing on a piece of wood, and the next one is salty like I'm biting a mummified ham; some are burnt and bitter. I've enjoyed a bag of microwave popcorn from Costco much much much better. Be warned, do not get the popcorn here. The seats are alright, not as comfortable as some landmarks seats like in New West. It lacks the space for putting a tray of food between two people to share.

I went to see Shazam! in VIP movie side.I have to say with a new movie they would learn from mistakes from other VIP movie theatres which seem they had more problems. They didn’t allow alcoholic drinks in theatres which is ok with me because I don’t drink. But on tickets they should explain what you get VIP because it is not clear. For service me and other person who I was didn’t get server to get our order because we got are own food because we didn’t could go to seats and get food. When I decide I want to get they where already out some food for first movie which why isn’t kitchen making the food before the first show. If you don’t have all food ready before it opens kinda shows that you don’t care about customer. I found the seats better compared to the regular theatres seats. I personally think it not worth an actual ten dollars to go VIP theatre I would probably go use my points to go for free. Hopefully this theatre can improve it self then I would probably have better experience.

It is very clear that the theatre is still in the works. After our movie was over my sister and I realized a couple next to us had left a some of their belongings, we walked around to look for a staff member to assist us, only to realize every single staff member was gone. No one in the lobby, dining lounge, bathrooms or in the theatre after the movie was finished, there was only a maintenance guy who was working on the light fixtures and he didn’t know where the employees were. I then watched a sketchy guy walk in with bags, hang around the empty arcade and then snuck his way into the theatre, easily could steal merchandise or personal belongings. Asides from all that, the reclined seats were fun, food was okay (my nachos were dry and bland) and the sound was much better than the larger theatres.

Service in the lounge is pretty good but drinks and food are pricey. The Tuesday special is $5 dollar tacos which are quite salty. The portions for the food are small for the price. Service inside the cinema is good as well. The lounge has a pool table that is free to use, lots of tv's to watch sports etc. $22 pitchers of craft beer

My experience was mixed. Finding where to buy the tickets was confusing. There was no signage telling where to buy them, but the lady serving us was very kind and helpful. The lobby was small and rather crammed, considering we were seeing a 1:00pm movie. The concession staff was rather slow and seemed quite confused. The guy who made our poutine was super friendly considering it was his first shift. When we finally got our food the drink machine didn't have carbonated drinks. After our lengthy lobby experience the theatre the seats were sure comfy! I'd wait a little to go back again to give them time to settle in.

I agree with others. It’s the best of what’s available to us on the north shore. I love the VIP theatres from cineplex. But this one loses 2 big points from me. One, has been the service, not exactly been as consistent as other locations. Second, the bathrooms. VIP theatre elsewhere have individual bathrooms. These don’t. Takes away from The VIP aspect of things. They do however have full recline seats, unlike others which only have semi recline options

This space was NOT thought out properly. No one knew where to go, how the lines to get tickets worked, which also backed into the snack lines. The staff didn’t know how to get the ticket machine working (we bought our tickets online) alcoholic drinks are NOT allowed in the VIP yet, (why are we paying 26 dollars a ticket if we aren’t allowed to BUY drink?!) there weren’t enough servers in the VIP so I went outside and got snacks for us. (Again, paying for services and not getting to use them) DO NOT get any of the sauces for the chicken fingers- straight up soy sauce and water. The “shrimp sauce” too, horseradish and mayo. I’m still gagging from the sodium overload. On the other hand- this place is so pretty. Nice and clean. The options for the VIP food and drinks looks amazing. I will be going back in a few weeks for another movie, hopefully they figure some of this little stuff out. In other places where they just open, you get a bit of a discount when they are smoothing out the kinks... ????????‍♀️ I kinda wish we didn’t go. It ruined our date night.

Horrible experience. The food took 43 minutes to be served. There were only 2 other tables of 2 people in the restaurant. Burger was overcooked, chicken on salad was rubbery and looked pre-cooked and re-microwaved, and the boneless chicken wings were cold, the sauce had dried up on them and we didn’t eat them. What’s worst is that when I asked to speak to a manager (because it’s not the service staffs fault after all), the manager had no clue how to speak to a customer, presented very badly (shirt half out of his waistline, dirty pants, just over all unkept). No apology, did not come to ask how our food was, and frankly was a manger only in title. Someone needs to train the staff. Our empty plates sat on the table for 10 minutes + after we were done and we never got a refill on our waters or drinks. Very poor experience. I get better food and service at Wendy’s.

Really enjoyed it! Some of these negative reviews are understandable but too critical. They are early in stage of the operation and probably wanted to opened for some big blockbusters like Avengers End Game. They'll figure out everything shortly. We got VIP tickets for End Game - It was our first time doing VIP and although they didn't have the liquor license in the theater itself, the bar did have it and was a really cool setup. Overall, everyone there was very helpful and friendly. The theater itself was like a brand new car, seats were super comfy, reclining and big. I would 100% do it again. This was the nicest theater I've been to.

Usually great, but they seem to have stopped enforcing COVID procedures. Our cinema was at 50% capacity but everyone was bunched together and not appropriately spaced out. Staff were very aware (they were in there serving drinks) but said nothing and didn’t take the time to make sure people were in their assigned seats.

The new Cineplex Theatre is very comfortable, especially with the luxury of leather recliners. That said, some improvements are clearly required to make the overall experience outstanding. I was successful purchasing my ticket online, however, my sister was not. No issue there, probably just a glitch at the time. To compensate, we arrived early in order to get 4 tickets for a group joining us. There are only 2 self serve kiosks .....TWO ......one was out of service and the other one only printed 3 of 4 tickets, resulting in a long line up we were trying to avoid. There was only 1 person ....ONE ......assisting all the people queued up to buy tickets. When we finally got to the front, the person said, "oh ya, the printer jams sometimes". What??? Sometimes? They've only be open for 10 days at this point!! When a manager was called to assist, we were asked to step to the side and wait. The manager breezed by us, not making eye contact and when we politely stopped her to say we were the ones waiting for her, she completely ignored us, but stuck out her hand and demanded, "give me the card you used" and proceeded to the counter to print the last ticket. Her body language and facial expression clearly confirmed how unapproachable and completely rude she was to us in this situation. BTW, her name is Steph (no last name on the badge). Geez, I wonder how she managed being hired in a managerial role? Clearly, she BS'd her way through the interview! Honey, you have a lot to learn about customer service and treating people with respect.

Theatre was very spacious and had VERY comfortable reclining leather seats. The main interior was a bit smaller than I expected, but very nice. Even with everyone's legs up, there is still room to get down the aisle to your seat. Staff were pretty fast at the registers, I'll definitely be coming back to this theatre. When I went, the counters were covered in garbage and spilled soda, but I really can't blame the staff seeing as the theatre has only been operating for a couple weeks. They just need some time to get into routine. Overall, we've needed a Cineplex on the North shore for a long time and I'm glad we've finally got it!

Very nice place. However vip is not really VIP service. They have good food. The place is clean and fancy. But the workers are very rude or over-worked or maybe both. It took at least 20 mins to take our order and 5 people were standing around doing nothing but talking and playing on the phones. And I asked to be delivered to my seat and they said "No!!!"

Normally I don't go to ciniplex movies cause the seats aren't great. My comfort level going into the theater during the pandemic wasn't there. This VIP was a great experience and changed my mind about the movie experience. It was nice being served without having to get up and the seats were amazing. The costs are worth the elevated experience.

I ate dinner in the VIP lounge before a movie. The dining room is modern and relatively comfortable. Surprisingly, the lounge service was pretty good - prompt and friendly. The menu provides a good selection of food and beverages. Food quality is average, but better than you might imagine. Food prices are fair and quite reasonable. Alcoholic beverages are pricey ($14) and, frankly, not worth the high cost. Soft drinks are also expensive. Overall though, the dining experience was enjoyable and better than I expected. The theatre experience was exceptional and arguably worth the higher cost of a VIP ticket. The auditorium features comfortable seating, unobstructed views of the screen, food and beverage trays/holders with refreshments ordered in theatre and brought to your seat, and a superior sound and lighting system. Generally, I would say that the VIP experience is worth trying and represents good value.

Menu says craft beer. Absolutely no craft beer here. Washroom out of toilet paper and soap. Ordered wine through the app and it took over 15 minutes to deliver it even with 10 staff walking around our theatre. I actually don't even have the wine yet so it may never show up. This is not a VIP experience!

I live a 10 minute walk from this theatre but would drive from west van to new west to Landmark any day just because of the rude, dismissive, and borderline abusive attitude this woman gave my family. And on top of it when I asked for her name she refused to give it to me. So this is her. It seemed she was in a horrid mood and it didn’t matter what we suggested or did - she refused to communicate and wanted to take it out on customers.

Always a great time at their VIP langue and theatre. As long as their VIP isn’t hosting a Private Party or Group Screenings, then you’ll be sure to have an awesome experience. Just to reiterate, their VIP service is exclusively designed with Bar & Food in mind. That said, no minors are allowed, which depending on how you see it, can be a relaxing move experience. Unfortunately due to “covid” they are unable to provide their in theatre dining/serving experience, but my gut tells me it’s more to do with overhead costs and the fact that Cineplex has lost a lot of money during the lock down. Therefore they need to recoup their losses. I can see in the foreseeable future this option will return. Staff are super friendly and professional and sell the “high class” value of purchasing a VIP ticket - no regrets there. Not quite sure if their setup is Dolby Atmos or not, but competitors such as Landmark Theaters are now offering 4K Laser Projection and Dolby Atmos. There is a huge drawback though, as Landmark advertises their Laser projection, it almost seemed like a marketing gimmick. The movie I watched, No Time To Die, had motion blur/jitter problems and was not a good experience at all. Halloween Kills, however, was a great viewing experience and the movie being so good as a sequel really helped create a complete experience. Oh! And before I forget, they also have a billiards/pool table whilst you eat & drink up before your movie. I would highly recommend arriving at least 1hr before your showtime if not more if you plan on getting the most out of your VIP experience. Happy Halloween & Screening,

I managed to sneak in and have a peek before they are open to the public. They have a VIP lounge and Bar right in the front doors. It is exciting to have a theater back in West Vancouver, particularly the upscale version. Can not wait to find out what the seats, sound and screens are like!

We had the worst experience ever at this theatre. We were so excited to have a decent theatre on the north shore, especially a VIP. Now two months of being open, the VIP still isn’t licensed so there is literally no point in paying $26 for a ticket. So we opted for a regular viewing of Godzilla. I get headaches from 3D so we had to do 2D, which only had one show time at 4:40, not even a very convenient time. The movie started and it was clearly in 3D. My sister went out to speak to someone and was told they were looking into in. Ten minutes later, the movie was still playing in 3D. My sister went out again and was told they were just going to play the movie in 3D and even witnessed a manager telling an employee that they had to go tell everyone. The poor employees had to tell an angry crowd that they had to deal with 3D or go get a refund. We decided to stay and they restarted the movie but the quality was off and the screen was flickering. We decided at this point, along with most of the theatre, to just cut our losses and get a refund. We went to the lobby where they again had one poor employee trying to issue refunds. After ten minutes of waiting with no one being processed, they switched tills and the line had to move. After another five minutes, a manager finally came down and starting processing refunds. When we got up, I asked where he had been while his employees had been dealing with the mess only to be told he was only one of several managers and he had been trying to fix the movie. Great, but he was the first manager I had seen and he didn’t even apologize for our experience. Finally after wasting an hour on the experience as well as money on uneaten food, we got our refund and were on our way. We have been in nearly every Cineplex on the lower mainland and this is the absolute worst one. In current times where people are choosing to save money and stay home to watch Netflix this Cineplex will struggle to stay open if they don’t fix their issues soon.

Awesome wide recliner seats. Very comfortable and tons of space. The only downside to this place is that there is only one actual cashier where you can physically purchase a ticket which results in a long line up. It's better to buy your tickets online and choose your seat rather than buying them at the theatre. Also, the theatres are quite small and there's not that many seats available so I would definitely recommend buying online in advance.

Saw Shazam! in a packed Friday night showing. The reclining seats are great but it was roasting inside. The (p)leather seats made it worse and we were all complaining about back sweat - yuck! Came out halfway through to tell someone. They apologised and said they would do something about it but there was no noticeable difference for the rest of the movie. Afterwards, I complained to the manager and he didn’t seem to care at all. We have tickets for the 3 hours of Avengers Endgame in the same screen, and now I’m really regretting not getting tickets at Metrotown, where they at least know how to keep the room at a decent temperature. Overall, an ok theatre with great seats, let down by poor service and management.

seats were big and comfy, sound and picture was decent, but 2 hours into avengers endgame, the audio cut off and eventually the whole movie crashed. we didn’t wait around to see if they’d fix it. this theatre also doesn’t have a way to contact them about getting refunds, i had to contact cineplex themselves. it was way too much of a hassle just to get a refund for this disaster of an experience. they really need to step up their service.

The food was cold and bland which the server told us that everyone has their preferences. Horrible response from the server. The popcorn was cold and the cocktails that cost $14 were watery and not made as per requested (salt rim vs. Celery salt. They said they didnt have salt for rim.) Servers need training. Food needs to be better. The cost does not fit for what the experience is. We will never spend money in the lounge again.

worst experience in a movie theatre so far, was watching avengers end game and the movie started glitching and pausing mid-way...had to wait for it to resolve for approx. 30 mins...then resumed to only have this ridiculously loud white blonde guy with a white t shirt kick the seats in front of him (not to mention they weren't even sitting in their own seats) and talk very loud during the movie...I vaguely remember his face but I will file a complaint regardless, 0/10 movie theatre

The Cineplex is doing a promo. Free upgrade to VIP seating. It's a pretty good experience. They have recliner seats which should be the only recliner seats in greater Vancouver for VIP seating. One star deducted is for the food service. I ordered pop corn and pop but they forgot my order. So I need to run out of the theatre in the middle of the movie. But other than that, it is a pretty good experience.

WORST VIP EXPERIENCE! We showed up an hour early for our movie and wanted to enjoy dinner in the lounge. We sat down ordered beer and nachos. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and when our server brought it over he spilled his tray all over me. I was completely soaked.. great start. THEN 10 minutes before our movie starts he said the food wouldn’t be ready and he would bring it in to us at the theatre. So we had to chug our beers because they don’t allow beers in the theatres???? and right when we’re about to walk in they bring our food out to us. So it’s just sitting there getting cold? I thought he communicated he would bring it to us inside. Then he said ya ya he will, we go and sit down. He just brings us our nachos without any dips or anything. We asked him to bring some dips it said was included in the menu, and it took another 10 minutes so our nachos were just gross. Watched VIP soaked, smelling like beer and eating cold nachos. NO apologies, not impressed. Won’t be returning. And wouldn’t recommend wasting your money here.

I had my first visit to this theater in late 2021 and I must admit that I was impressed with what I experienced there. I stumbled a bit with the ticket purchasing (I don't go to cinemas too often), but I figured out the online tickets pretty quickly. Things looked interesting when we entered. The arcade was amusing, the bar (I think it was a bar) seemed relaxing and we saw that there was more food selection than in older cinemas. We didn't order any food, so I can't review that. I could review the menu screens and say that they looked like they were trying to upsell the offerings, but I'd probably have more to say that just that so I'll leave it be. Now, we went into our theater (the first on the left, I believe) a little early and immediately noticed that there were big reclining chairs and wide rows. I don't think I bought the VIP tickets, so we were only expecting old-school seating. This was impressing and it did feel nice to sit in. I stumbled a bit trying to find our correct seats - the number was on the side and I wasn't sure if the number related to the seat left or right of that number. When I look back at it, the seat number was the only real issue I had with the cinema. I couldn't see the numbers well - which was good for keeping the light down during the show, but not easy for walking in. All I did was walk to the end of the aisle to see what it said and work from there. I guess I was also a little uncomfortable with placing my jacket and bag by me when I tilted my seat back - but that was my difficulty; I brought too much straight from work, without a car. So bring as little as possible to the cinema with you! And the show went well. The screen looked good from where we were (near the middle), the sound was great, I wasn't fighting for arm space with the person beside me (I also wasn't holding my partner's hand on the other side). It was a good time, with a bunch to explore on future visits.

Went and saw Captain Marvel, the seats were amazing! Super comfortable and reclining. However I have the same sentiment regarding the popcorn as other people. I do not like butter dumped on top of my popcorn nor do I like the flavours. I always get the regular popcorn at other theatres and it is very flavorful. Not at park royal, it has absolutely no flavour and is dry. For some reason they have not got the same recipe as every other theatre in the city.

Nice new facility but service needs MUCH improvement. Sat down in the lounge over an hour before the movie to grab some dinner beforehand, tried to make order some food but they were out of chicken - seriously by 5pm?... Ok whatever no big deal...So we place orders for something else. Then proceeded to wait for over an hour to be told that we'll have to wait to get inside the theatre to get our meals. Then we get to our seats starving to be then served the most incredibly underwhelming and expensive salad I've ever had - "it's ok though I'll just get popcorn" - made an order for popcorn and a drink, movie starts and it never comes out... So in summary, facility is great but Marine Gateway VIP is a safer bet until these guys sort themselves out.

I like this theater. It's not far from Vancouver downtown, it has free parking and a lot of rooms including vip ones. Seats very very comfortable and they reclined all the way so you can lay down (in VIP room) and you can order food from your sit.

Rude and lazy staff of below average intelligence. No butter in the entire theater... How is that even possible? Interact with some of the staff and you'll understand why items like Butter, Trays, Various Candies, clean counters, clean theaters, basically standards at any other cineplex are overlooked here and instead replaced with a generally unpleasant experience.. Hopefully the movie you pick is really good!!! I watched Avengers Endgame and as good as it was for this huge Marvel fan.. I'll NEVER choose Park Royal for our Movie nights ever again! Make the drive to Scotiabank, Brentwood or Metro or Coquitlam Silvercity! anywhere but here!

You can't beat comfy reclining lounge seats for the same price as the regular seats downtown! I like that when you book your seat they automatically block all the seats on either side of you. I felt perfectly comfortable in there despite the current pandemic. The theater itself and the washrooms were very clean. And the free parking is great, too!

Worst theater I have been. I am a regular movie goer, about 3 to 4 movies a month at other theaters and never experience such bad service from the Park Royal VIP. Bad management. Managers are not train properly. They are rude and do NOT know customer service. The first time I went was the VIP seating.I ordered hot chicken fingers that were covered with sauce instead of sauce on the side that I took a bite and had to return it. The server took it away and never came back with a replacement. I had to hunt them down to get my food in the middle of the show. Still did not get my food back. At the end of the show, I complained that my food was taken away and I got nothing. The manager said no credit given except a food voucher. I had to take the voucher or get nothing. I went the 2nd time to the regular theater and the whole place was a mess. Popcorn and litters everywhere. The young lady manager was slow and was not train properly. Took awhile to get our tickets. We bought coffee but they ran out of cream and milk. The staffs seem so lost. Do not go there until the whole crews get proper training.

Fairly new complex with all of the bells and whistles. Not a fan of moving seats myself but the kids love them. (Bit of a hefty up-charge though). Food was good when we went but service was slow so allow yourself plenty of time if you are planning on eating. The boxed ours up and we took them to our seats so we didn't miss the movie.

If you want a movie it’s a great place for that but anything more will leave you feeling frustrated. Extremely disorganized staff with poor communication and appears to have lack of training that spans across each employee. Food was cold and poorly made including instructions not followed and lack of stock on anything that is on the menus…even beverages were out of stock. Dysfunctional and soured the experience, the only return I’ll be making will be to view the movie but NEVER going to include their food or beverage service. NOT a date night recommendation.

This place is ruining the name of Cineplex. The management is terrible and the way they treat their employee's is embarrassing. To sum up my experience working there I would say that the managers are liars. They don't care about you at all but pretend as if you're so important to them. They mean that you are important to them getting paid. This company and this location specifically hire employees aged 15-17 and then work then 40+ hours a week with one day off. How is this manageable for children? It's disgusting. Speaking of disgusting, the food is horrid. The food safety procedures of the place are illegal. None of the food is dated so the employee's don't replace anything. The mayonnaise is left out for at least a week before being replaced. And no, it is not refrigerated. The only thing worth buying there is anything that is merch or non food related. At least then you know the company which produced it isn't literally serving you rancid, poisonous food. This place should be shut down and I can't wait for the day that a food inspector comes and decides this place should be closed. Good riddance.

Watched Pet Sematary in VIP. Great theatre, reclining seats outstanding. They have some bugs to work out, but off to a good start. Give them some time to get to 100%. Cheyenne was our server and worked to make our visit enjoyable.

Comfy and modern auditoriums, definitely a smaller theatre but considering it’s attached to the mall it’s the best it can be. Parking can be a bit confusing with the multi levels and entrances, so if there were more signs it would be easier to get to, but generally had a good time!

Overpriced VIP tickets. Beware you can't order or drink alcohol inside the cinema (only out at the bar) they don't have a licence for this yet. Handed around to 6 or 7 different employees before finally ordering some overpriced food that was ok but not great. Heating button in recliners is not working yet. Definitely has some teething problems maybe wait a few weeks until they iron out the kinks. Or don't opt for VIP as it's currently not worth it. Disappointing.

It was ok the manager there isnt very nice or friendly she made a big deal about change seats from the B to C after the worker had already said it was ok if you dont like the seats come change it she said... so that what i did and Her name is Steph K i told her what worker say and she like yeah AND IM TELLING YOU that we don't or wont do that again! Also it was about the Access card she was saying we dont do that for the access 2 card she says...also the people that use the access 2 card has a disability so ya not good! Was not nice or friendly at all but other than that it is a nice theatre with very comfy seats!

One word... SEATS! Best in town. Location is super convenient if you live in the Northshore. Lots of free parking. The screens are big and sound is crisp. All in all a long overdue and much needed theater for those of us that live on the Northshore and want something better than the rundown Park and Tilford or the Esplanade theater.

The seats are comfortable but man, the place is dirty. Popcorn everywhere. The theatre was still yet to be cleaned with 15 minutes from the movie starting. Even after someone came to “clean”, there are still tons of popcorn, leftover food on the floor and wet napkins in the cup holder. You would think that by charging $20 a ticket would allow them to have a decent cleaning crew.

We saw Avengers End Game -the theater was not cleaned properly and it was smelling. There was pop corn everywhere and the staff were not cleaning properly. Not only is the convenience special of not travelling so far; the seating is so comfortable both in the regular and VIP theater sections. This Cineplex location has friendly staff, is well maintained and while it has a good selection of films, I do wish it would have Event screenings. One thing that I have to take issue with is the accessible seating. All of the auditoriums have accessible seating which is great.... particularly in the larger ones where said seating is further from the screen. However, auditoriums 5, 6, 7, and VIP 4 are not conducive to comfortable viewing. The seats are so close to the screen that films don't seem in focus no matter how far back one reclines and it feels like the screen could be touched if only you reached out. I currently use a walker and am able to transfer myself to a seat and recline, but do feel for those that are unable to do so.

Great VIP cinema experience. A plus would be the ability to call the staff from your seat. Also the “combo VIP” deals were only advertised in the cinema and not on the app so you may not be getting the best deal by using the Cineplex app.

Do not opt for the DBox seats!!! Though they are supposed to add movement (they do) to enhance the experience, they are situated as the very last row of the theater making the sound awful (no rear, almost no side and no top effects.... only sound coming from screen!). Such a terrible idea ...

The new renovations and theatre are awesome. The VIP cinemas are really top class and the in-seat service is amazing. Make sure you do your next movie VIP and it won't disappoint. Go on Tuesday so you get VIP tickets for the price of normal tickets with the movie discount.

Clean theater and friendly staff. But I couldn’t help but notice security was quite lax... you can easily sneak snacks inside. They don’t even check your backpack! I recommend buying snacks beforehand from a cheaper shop and avoid the long lines and high prices. Otherwise, great cinema.
