There is not a lot to rate about a movie theater except for the seats. They all have popcorn they all have movies. I noticed another reviewer rated the seats quite highly but for me I found them extremely uncomfortable especially compared to some of the others. The seat and the back of the chair both move and I felt like the thing was collapsing in on me the whole time.

Rating for the VIP theatres. This is a great place for date nights. We quite enjoy the food, and it is priced similarly to chains like Earl's or Cactus Club. The theatre seats are comfy, and we can enjoy a distraction free movie because all the other patrons are over 19 and considerate by not talking or using phones. The VIP area is separate from the rest of the theatre, and is quiet and classy. A bit pricey, but we think it's worth it.

I had a really great experience at the VIP Cinema, viewing one of the old Christmas classics last week. Our server was dealing with our big group and staying on top of it! I received my wine prior to entering the theatre and my chipotle chicken wrap was very tasty and delivered to my seat. The chairs were comfortable, and I'm glad we figured out how to swivel the arm rests to have in front of us as we ate, although I'm pretty sure you wouldn't know they did that if you didn't fiddle around. My only critique is that the server didn't ask me for my Scene card (and we were spending a decent amount on food) so I'll have to go back to the theatre with my receipt if I want my points. When I called about this the staff was very friendly and helpful. When we left the theatre back into the restaurant area to leave, there was a not so pleasant smell... perhaps spilled drinks in the carpet and limited air flow?? Overall, we will be back to enjoy another movie in style in the future!

After going to Marcus theaters in the USA, I have to say Cineplex for vip gets a firm 4 star. There are some things Cineplex does better. The seating area/ambiance is very nice. Because it is separated from the regular theater, you do feel like you are in a more special area, but it does come with the equivalent price tag. If you want seats that recline you will need to choose the seats that are separate at the front. The ones that go up against the wall do not really recline. It's a bit more cramped so it doesn't allow for others to walk through the rows easily. The food was a 3.5 ???? for me. We did tacos because it was taco Tuesday. Pricing was ok at $5 for movie food. if you have to order from the menu, it would be $12.50 for two which comes to 6:50 each. You cannot order them individually except on Tuesday I guess. We ordered one of each but found most of them very average except for the pulled pork. Service was fine 4 ???? Ambiance 5 ???? Theater/Seats 4 ???? Popcorn was decent ???? This theater is very convenient to go to as it is pretty much located at the Marine and Cambie SkyTrain.

The Gateway Theater is right on the Sky Train Route. The theater has breathtaking views from the VIP lounge the bathrooms are spotless and the personal service provided is special. They have a number of culinary Delights that are slightly over price but sure tasty

VIP is the way to see a movie. For a few dollars more you get to enjoy an adult crowd, to your seat service and a more luxury movie experience. Everyone complains how expensive movies are. But when I see a VIP movie I feel like I am getting much better value.

Super comfy VIP chairs that can push button recline. Ability to order yummy food from the menu. Prices are decent. Food is above average. Must be 19+. My friend spilled his drink and let a staff member know so they could clean it and they generously replaced his spilled drink. I was impressed. I had to twist my husband's arm to go VIP the first time but he quite enjoys it now. It's a nice way to treat yourself.

I always love going to this movie theatre, and it's great how they control the number of people in the audience even though the BC Government has started phase 3. However, popcorn eating is part of the movie experience and the popcorn I had tasted like it's been out for several days already. It tasted old and stale. Hope they are not serving days-old popcorn to their customers.

Wonderful experience seeing 007. We arrived early for drinks and light snacks before the movie. The VIP seating area offers plentiful seating.. we were greeted promptly and ended up ordering Teryaki wings, poutine, and cocktails. The poutine was delicious and the wings had a flavorful sauce. They take orders for food in the movies before you enter and have it delivered once seated. Seating inside was spaced out and the chairs were very comfortable for a 3hour movie.

If you want a treat for yourself go VIP you are going to love it, they take your food and drinks right to your seat, and the seat are so comfortable you feel like home, but buy your tickets on line because they have a limited numbers of seats.

This place is great but it can be a bit of a Hassel to find... you have to park I paid parking underground and then take elevators up. Some of the elevators go up to the third floor and some only go up to the main floor and then you have to wander your way to the cineplex, and there is minimal signage to help you get there, but once you find it, it is the classic Cineplex experience, which is an experience that both I and my wife thoroughly enjoy!

Great experience here. Kind staff and clean facilities. The theatres were very nice, had good sound quality and good screens. Great selection of food and drinks, they even have poutine! Good games at the arcade including basketball shooter, racing games, air hockey, and many more. One of my favourite theatres in Vancouver.

I really like this Cineplex location. It is in the middle between Central Richmond and Downtown Vancouver. It is convenient for me and my friends to meet after work and it is right beside the Canada Line. Went to watch Captain Marvel in VIP for the first time and couches are comfortable. If only there were instructions on how to maneuver the seats with the movable tables and such. I like how they have in seat ordering service so we can order our dinner there as we watch our movie. I highly recommend the popcorn shrimp.

Review is directed toward the seating in the Non VIP theater. The seats were uncomfortable as you couldn't sit straight, the seat would just fold under me. I would gave moved but the room was filling up at this point. The staff were great and this is is not directed at them. Also Good Boys is a 6/10 funny but meh.

VIP- the time i went there they still practice social distancing like one chair away from our place. After i think couple of weeks when we went back on the regular cinema it’s back to normal seating spaces but mask is mandatory (if your not eating or drinking).

Really hope we can get back to watching movies normal. Not that I went here a lot, would be a shame to have this option gone. I did the VIP, get food and alcohol to your seat and that was great. But, as with all movie theatres, prices are stupid still. Never will get 5 stars. I would wish the corporations would change this.

Always enjoy our time in VIP and this location is great as it’s not always too busy. So you can enjoy chill time in luxury without the masses. This experience was extra special as the service was the best we have ever received from a server at VIP. Carter went above and beyond, his service was attentive, personable, patient and very hospitable. I have had some real stiff no personality service in the past. But Carter made this experience that much better. Awesome experience.

The last couple of times I've been to this theater I've left a bit disappointed. The last time I did VIP the seats we sat in were super uncomfortable. The chairs didn't recline properly and they were kind of lopsided. That said, the in-seat service was pretty good and probably saved this from being a 1-star review. The most recent visit was to just the ordinary theater and it was super warm in the theater. You think maybe they could turn on a little bit of AC or something with a full theater.

PRO: Everything is brand new and nice. The leather seats are super comfortable and the fact they recline is great. Seat warmers too! CON: The mall’s parking lot is a pay lot and Cineplex doesn’t reimburse their guests. We came early for dinner and drinks before our show and it cost $9 to park ????.

Great theatre. Perfect location. The bar/restaurant is really nice. It feels like a hotel bar. Many people don't know that you can go there without a movie ticket. It is a great option if the pub at marine gateway is full. The food is fine, the service is very friendly and attentive. The view is nice and I am looking forward to seeing if the balcony patio seating will be nice in the summer. The theater itself is very nice but I can't recommend the VIP theaters over the regular ones because I find the regular seats more comfortable because the VIP seats don't reline very much and the feet don't elevate. But still an interesting experience.

Not the best Cineplex in my opinion. This is in consideration that you almost certainly have to pay to park. The facility itself is nice but non recliner seating even in VIP, nothing a little retrofitting cannot fix though. Landmark in New West gives you better value if it isn't too far out of your way.

The regular theatres are stadium style seating but at a slightly steeper incline than other local cinemas; you may want to sit a little closer than your usual prefered row. VIP theatre experience is pretty cool (I just went to see Candyman there), staff are lovely, attentive; the seats look like they will recline like at Landmark however the back of the seat is the only part that reclines and only about an inch or two. The drinks come in huge globe goblets so you may not mind the rest too much. Beautiful view, comfortable seating areas for dining or relaxing pre movie, free WiFi. Sparkling and nice!

I went to the VIP and enjoyed it, like always. It may be more expensive (though they have cheap Tuesdays), but it's well worth it. Comfy seats, actual food along with the regular theatre snacks and drinks, alcohol including beers and cocktails, and exclusively 19+. It's awesome!

Cineplex cancelled our movie outing last night at the very last minute, when we had already come in to buy the tickets. Instead, they retroactively handed out refunds (I guess) rather than giving any respectable advance notice, so that cinephiles don't waste their time driving or transiting all the way to the theater for nothing. Get your sh*t together!

Ok, so we have been coming to this VIP theatre for sometime now, and there are several great points: both the VIP lounge and theatres are nice, clean and comfortable. On the downside however, the service has been steadily declining at this location. Not sure exactly why - but it's almost as if the servers are either not well trained or just don't care. We were there last night, and had to flag down a server to take our order, then flag her down to order our drinks and then flag her down a third time for our bill (all while she stood socliasing with other staff members). This was on a Wednesday night, and it was NOT busy. Mind you, this has been our experience the last three times we have visited the Marine Gateway VIP theatres. It's probably better just to order the food/drinks while seated in the theatre...saves you waiting around for someone to take your order in the lounge.

Service has started to decline. Initially their service here was pretty good. But then recently, upon viewing a few VIP shows, they are messing up in service real bad. The last show I saw in VIP drew the line for me and I have to write a bad review about it. We had ordered an ice cream sundae and 2 main dishes that had salads accompanying them. We had ordered this 25 minutes in advanced in ordered to get the food before the movie began but instead are food is being served to us while the movie has started already 5 minutes in which was very distracting. Earlier, they used to serve the food while the trailers were on and finish up during that time. Anyways, along with that mess up, they gave us the food but didn't give us any utensils at all. So we couldn't eat any of the salads or the ice cream sundae that they had served. We had even told one of the servers that were walking by that we hadn't received any utensils and he just acknowledged that and never did anything about it. We were just waiting for the utensils for a good half hour and gave up on it that really spoiled our movie viewing experience. I understand that food is secondary to a movie experience but when I pay extra for the VIP experience I do not expect this sort of experience for my hard earned money. And since this isn't the first time this has happened recently I have to give them one star rating to bring this to their attention.

Awesome service! Lost my key on Saturday during a show, did respond right away and had follow up notes as well. Came on Monday before noon, Richard was there to assist me and personally took me to the section and reached in the seats where I lost my key. 12/10 customer service!

The COVID 19 rules and regulations are pretty standard, nice and clean establishment, the VIP was a great experience precursor to the movie, however the food could be a bit better. I know, I know, theater food, but it was very bland. Nachos were excellent, drinks were delicious, suggest just sticking to popcorn.

This theater is a treat. Aside from the regular cinemas - it has VIP seating - where you can get a good meal delivered right to your seat. The seats are comfortable and clean. We enjoy going with friends to the VIP seating at least once a year or more - for some special occasions. However, parking can be a real pain - as it shares a parking lot with T&T and the rest of the small mall... Depending on the day it can be difficult to park there.

Went inside to buy a ticket for a movie tonight. I went with a friend and we both had a free movie on our account. An employee ( I'm assuming the manager) asked us if we needed help and I mentioned if my friend and I were able to sit together even though we were paying sperately. Normally at other locations we've been it, it was no big deal and they would seat us together but this specific employee told me unfortunately they will not allow it and someone will have to pay for the other person's ticket in order to sit next to eachother. Why would SCENE create a Program where you earn points for free movies only to be told not to use it and pay for the movie instead. I did not like the way this idea was given to us. What's worse is there were only 4 people in the entire movie so it would have been a waste of admission because we could have chosen where to sit anyways. The idea was not rational and I did not like the approach

This theatre is alright. They updated the arcade the new card system but they still have the old drink fountains so only 5 flavors to choose from instead of the dozen or more available on the new drink machines. Can't afford VIP at $18 drinks so you'll have to ask someone else how that is.
