REVIEWS OF Cineplex Cinemas Coquitlam and VIP IN British Columbia

Avner Coopman

Nice and clean, comfy seats, good service with a smile.

JC VN

My favorite movie theater location! We always come here from North Van! Love the arcade and food choices. However - we did not like the burgers offered in the VIP lounge. Was cold by the time it got to us and the meat looked and tasted weird, bottom bun was dry. Very lackluster but overall its still my favorite theatre lol

Charlie Ni

Seats are a little dated compared to the newly renovated cinemas like landmark cinema at Guildford or New West. Cannot pick your own seats too unless you pay for the VIP seats which are a lot more expensive. They do have quite a big arcade section and a bowling ally near by so it's not bad for a night out

K Sangha

Not worth it paying for VIP. Unlike the other locations, this theatre does not have reclining seats so not sure why customers pay double the price when it’s nothing special.. also food is not that great either. The only reason I visit other VIP locations is because you’re able to drink but visiting this location today made me feel like I wasted my money and could have just watched the movie in a regular theatre room.

Prabhjeet Sran

Seats are not comfortable otherwise its good.

Christopher “Novus” James

Busy but nice establishment, was quick and easy to get in and watch my movie with no fuss or hassle. Friendly and approachable staff.

Don French

Nice date night out. Covid policies and procedures simple, yet well thought out.

Samantha Bacchus McLeod

It is a quite a drive out to this cinema but worth it for a night out. The lounge is nice, and all the food choices are even better. Easy to get tickets at the cinema (not so easy online). Grab some friends and head out for a night out. Love the recliners and full service!

Kelvin Fong

Spacious, clean and fun place. However I ate too much popcorn felt a bit off. ????

Arjun Tyagi

The VIP experience is great but the regular theatres are just alright. To be honest when you compare it to the new stawberry hill cinema opened in Surrey for example for a cheaper price their tickets provide seating even better than the VIP here which costs extra. I think they either need to upgrade the theatre seating or lower the ticket price to reflect the older style seats in the regular cinemas. I also typically find the concession stands in the regular side to have terribly slow service. The odd time someone is really trying hard to be polite and speedy which is appreciated but most times you're waiting around for your overpriced food/drinks and watching staff hang out and gossip. They look at you like their doing you a favour to serve you. I've worked retail and customer service, I get you can't always be perky but at least be friendly and try not to chill out in front of the till, it's super annoying for people in line. I use to go here at least every 2 weeks for years and the last few years have been like this, I've started going to other locations now to mix it up.

maxine ocampo

theatre themselves are super nice. only decreasing a star because the food and drinks stand there is super slow despite soooo many staff members around. i recommended leaving 10-15 mins give or take to buy food before your movie time. one guy even forgot to give me my popcorn and I had to ask for it again for him to remember.

Ally G

Two stars because the VIP seats alone were designed to be torture devices to slowly fracture your spine and hips over the course of two hours. There's no other explanation why the chairs were that uncomfortable and that poorly designed. I couldn't even fall asleep that same night because I was in so much pain. Also two stars because I thought I would enjoy having food served to me, but then I had to listen to people chewing louder than the movie and break drinking glasses because all the empty dishes stay at your seat and you feel cramped. If you can get to a Landmark theatre, you must. Normal priced tickets for the most comfortable recliner with lots of room.

3chordgord

Watched Nightmare Alley, worst movie I've sat through in over a decade. Wasted 2 1/2 hrs of my life!

Pat Gunter

Arms rest surfaces of my chair were sticky, & sticking to my bare arms. The chair squeaked loudly. Felt like I had to concentrate on not making it squeak, during the movie, as to not disturb other viewers. Could hear other viewers' chairs squeaking too. Good movie-theatre 101/basic stuff here, come on. A couple of drops of lubricant.

tree Root

Popcorn prices went way up but it is great and go see a movie in theaters again!!!!

YamWarrior

Terrible food. High price, low quality and low value. Drinks are watered down. The VIP experience is what I was hoping for but it just felt like a premium charge without the premium value. How can a movie night cost one couple $140? That’s crazy. We could have gone to Cactus club down the road and gotten regular movie tickets and it would have been a better value. Such a shame that this is how low the bar is. 24hrs after visiting I would like to update this review. Do not eat here unless you like food poisoning. I had the chicken sandwich and a poutine and now I cannot stray far from the restroom. I should have voiced my concerns when everything came out cold. Freshness aside, it is obvious that my chicken wasn’t made after I ordered it, but before. It must have been a situation where the cooking staff decided “no need to drop new chicken in the fryer, this ones been ready to go for awhile.” Thanks cineplex, you gave me so much more to remember than just a movie.

Gerry Bock

Love the VIP cinema at this location. The food is a little below average for the price paid, though the staff are making an effort to improve quality and service. The VIP theater is comfortable, and you can arrive eraly, order food and drink from your seat, starting the party with friends early, while waiting for the movie to begin.

Hanna M

Very cool ????????

Maya M

outdated and uncomfortable seats at VIP that don’t even recline. underwhelming experience.

Jeremy Althouse

The vip experience is amazing here. You will get an amazingly comfortable seat that is heated and reclines. They will also serve food and beverages to you before the movie starts. 5/5 would recommend to anybody

Eduardo Alvarado

Theatres are nice, but try to only watch movies only in AVX or in the VIP section. Seating, video, and audio are much better! Dolby Atmos is offered in those theatre room and it definitely makes a different when your watching a big action movie! Also they keep on improving the menu here and also have a mini Starbucks to satosfy your coffee craving.

Kenya Franz

The cinema was great and the VIP area needs more care. The lounge was awesome but we only got allowed into the theater 10 minutes before the movie started and weren't able to order from our seats (one of the reasons I chose VIP) and the seats faux leather cover was completely cracked up and rough.

Cyrus Irani

It is a comfortable VIP theatre. Seats are good, food is good and the audio is very good. Some might prefer a bigger screen but that would be overwhelming for the size of the theatre. We watched Black Panther there on opening night. Also many games there in front of the concession so good for kids.

James McLeod

This place is interesting. It's like an arcade, a fast food stand, a gift shop and 20 theatres. I like it there. It can get too hot in the theatres at times and the toilet rooms are almost too small..but it's fantastic nevertheless. Go!

Gloria Pagnotta

Very fun experience! Good company, great movie too

Ajay Soin

VIP seats are bit of disappointment, there's no recliner. Okay on the legroom. Screen is nothing to write home about. Overall experience definitely not worth the asking price. Good thing is that they don't take any food orders once movie begins. Less disturbance to audience.

Hobson Lin

VIP area has been around for a while and the decor is beginning to show its age. (Wallpaper is peeling, furniture is showing signs of wear and tear.) The service in the VIP lounge is consistently slow and staff are inattentive. (You see chatty servers on one side, and other staff pacing circles behind the counter.) Tip: arrive at least 45 minutes early if you plan to eat a meal beforehand. Arriving half an hour is barely enough time to get take-out into the theatre.

ZAID TAHER

I had issue with my chair UltraAvx 3D ,D Box wasn't working I asked the staff to fix it for me but no one comes they really not helpful Even I scan my ticket two times & nothing work I just wasted my money for something useless.

ulearn

Clean, but lack of concession staff. We went to watch an afternoon flick for a 1pm showing. There were 3 staff members on the till, and 3 staff members loitering around behind the counter. Each line had 12 people deep. When it was our turn, the male concession member lack either confidence or was newly trainee. He asked what we wanted. Then turned around and asked a second time again. Part of the ticket is a toy as per the ticket, he did look in a box of toys and it appeared he was sorting it out and then came back and said they were out. Hmmm. Because there was a lineup behind us, I didn't bother to make a big deal. After the movie, I noticed the lineups were just as long but with less staff manning the concession stands. Granted, an curious to know why there two people in the arcade which was so-so busy, but less people helping in the concessions. Cineplex should have a river or two to help with the backlogs.

Raido Vasar

Infuriating self serve kiosks - some unoperational, some need special ways to tap and others seem to be working. Entry doors need repairs but movie experience was great.

Robert Hale

That place was HUGE. Very nice layout. Lots of free parking and places to go in the immediate area if you need something to do before your movie. My only complaint is that the floor in the theater we were in was super sticky.

Cilvia Zhou

This place is have really good cinema studio.. not too crowded.. have a big space of parking.. ppl nice as well.. n have a big spAce if lining up..

Meredith

The seats are leather, AND heated, along with a personal table for a full meal. It's almost difficult to stay awake because it's so relaxing. You can lift the middle cup holder to have a snuggle during the movie with your date <3

Dharm Gill

cineplex,. cinemas, i ???? very poor & cheap cinema,

Ravi M

I usually only go for recliner seating, but even with days left until the movie came out, a lot of the shows were already sold out. Trying to find anything, I bought 2 tickets for the Lion King. Worst seat in the theatre. My chair kept squeaking. It was so loud, embarrassing, annoying and super uncomfortable. You know how difficult it is to not move for almost 2 hours!!! Ruined the whole experience for me.

Craig Rodrigues

Saw James Bond "No time to die". Great seats!

Doug Walker

The VIP experience would have been great but for the dirty washrooms. One would hope that someone would pick up on this one important issue, which would make the total experience great.

Charlotte Eggleton

It's a very friendly place. However it needs a major refurb. It's old, and has a musty smell throughout, some tatty seats. Staff are always pleasant and will help. Never need to line up to get in. Always plenty of films showing at good times.

Jan Mindlin

Cineplex is awesome, clean, great staff. I am giving 2 stars because we were assured seats near us wud be kept vacant. That did not happen. I felt uncomfortable with people sitting right behind us and we had to move. To ensure guests sit in their assigned seats staff needs to check and make sure appropriate seating distance is adhered to.

EMMANUEL OSORIO

VIP and the normal cinema are nice! Food in the VIP as you would expect is a bit over priced but it is good. So no problem there! Service is good and quick as you would expect. In the regular cinema, everything good as well.

Des Lee

With one exception where a seat seemed to have had a large Coke dumped on it, this Cinema is a treat to visit. It's typically quite clean - the theaters are well kept, same with the bathrooms. (I haven't been to the lady's rooms) The overall feeling of this place is that it's well managed - the employees seem happy and engaged, and they look like they place an emphasis on customer service. You can also go in and get a popcorn if you're not seeing a movie. I've done that a couple times. Keep your eyes open for Community days - I love theater popcorn, and you can get a regular popcorn for $2.50 (+ extra $$$ for butter). Please pay extra for butter and avoid using the free artificial butter flavored grease dispenser! They have one, but I've never seen anyone use it! I can't resist adding an related anecdote: I visited Oklahoma once, and I'm not sure how many cows are in Oklahoma but I thought it could be the cow capital of the US. So I was dismayed that the theater I visited didn't have actual butter. I was so sad and ended up not getting popcorn, which could have maybe made watching Terminator 3 bearable. Maybe. Because I really love popcorn.

Brent Hampton

My wife and I received a gift card for Cineplex for Christmas, so we decided to go see Jojo Rabbit. It was only showing in the VIP, which meant we had to pay as much as two regular tickets on top of our gift card. When we got there, the recliners seats were okay and the popcorn was meh. I guess my wife and I have been spoiled by Landmark Cinemas in New West. They have comfy recliners with foot rests in every theatre, the popcorn is consistently delicious, and you don't have to pay extra for the experience. VIP treatment for everyone. Unless you're eating a meal during your movie, don't waste your money going to the Cineplex VIP. $25 per person, plus your snacks and/or meal? Not worth it in my opinion.

Keith Robertson

Went to see Shang-Chi in the VIP section and there were 3 main issues I had: First, and most importantly - the staff member checking tickets at the VIP entrance swiped through my phone without my permission. They didn't ask me to show them the 2nd ticket, they just swiped... the wrong way, to a photo that I took earlier. Thankfully it wasn't anything private, but still, please don't touch my phone (or if you have to, ask first). Didn't see him sanitize before or after touching my phone either. Gross Second issue - Theatre 4 for VIP is not as nice as some of their other VIP theatres at the same location. Seats don't recline, they're ripped, and just not comfy. I've had good experiences in their VIP before, but avoid VIP #4 if possible. Third - The seat service for food and drinks was sub-par. I asked if I could swap my side of fries for a small popcorn and pay the difference, and you'd think I'd asked them to recite 50 digits pi for me. They weren't able to do that (why not) so I had to pay for a side I didn't want, and telling them to just bring the sandwich, leave the side, and I'll order popcorn, was yet again some unheard of request. Odd service.

Max Shlafman

The video games for the kits are great. My kids are usually having fun there

Phillip Williams

Chairs are absolutely uncomfortable. The seats are tight and can loosely swing backwards. The quality of the seats ruin the enjoyment. I cannot believe the owner is unable to upgrade the quality of the seats. The landmark cinema near the Guildford mall in Surrey is a demonstration of what a comfortable seating means.

Francis Kisin

Im a huge fan of cinema and am so happy that it is in my neighbourhood. Theit seats are mostly clean and their staff are great (some with attitude, but most are great feom my experience). I was going to give them a 3 but them screening movies at 10pm + are what sells tickets to me as I work late. Nothing like an escape into a film at 10pm on a weekday.

Janine M.

Great to be back in the theater again, missed going to movies.

sarah black

The movie itself was great. But the floors were sticky, and the drinks were very strong.

Kiran Parghi

Self serve ticket kiosks were mostly broken and I had to try 3 before I found one that worked, screens were all wonky. Seemed a little unkempt, but other than that, things were fine. Was clean and lots of employees.

Lisa Stephen

From one who is not a fan of James Bond movies the new James Bond movie is a 10+. The movie Belfast was also an excellently told story - gritty but well told. Very few people at the theater

M

VIP theatre: great seats, terrific to have service in your seats, today the young servers were friendly and professional. Two suggestions for improvement, mixed gender washrooms need to cleaned constantly if you are to have mixed use. Secondly, why not use the big kitchen where you heat up hot dogs to cook some fresh food and not just reheated fish or burgers. You pay a lot for sub-par microwave food.

The OGs

The theater itself is sub-par. The seats are narrow, small, and somewhat uncomfortable. There's a really nice arcade, though. There were also rooms suitable for a kids birthday party.

Paul Delahunty

Great . Covid safe . Checked for Qr code . Clean efficient

Paisley D

This is a great movie theatre to go to! It's not even too hard to find parking. It's very roomy when you walk in, and there is an arcade area which is great if you're always very early like me. Would be awesome for a date They also have a good selection of food, like hot dogs and other full meal items

Daniel

I love this place. Everything they have here is made for you to have a wonderful time watching your favorite movie. I also liked the arcades, despite being mostly just the ones that you get tickets you can trade for prizes, they have good variety and the machines are in a great condition. The VIP rooms, lounge, service are phenomenal. Also, the rooms are spacious and they follow the health directives and recommendations. The staff is friendly and helpful. They're very well located, easily accessible through Lougheed Hwy. I'm going to come back to this Cineplex regularly.

Wire had forgotten her ID and the person checking tickets was being a stickler about requiring it touting losing their license etc. We don't drink and we watched him let in five people after without IDing that may have been the same age or within 5 years of us. When his manager came he was letting in a party of 8 that were obviously younger than us without IDing. I understand the stickler point of requiring it. I don't think it needed to result in speaking with 3 managers before someone actually walked us up to a ticket booth (originally he asked us to wait in the 20 minute line for a refund) and help us with a refund and then help exchange for Non VIP tickets. We got to watch the movie but not without some frustrations.

童镜豪

VIP room Only check Asian people’s ID, no matter how old u are, as long as u are Asians, They ask u for id. If Asians people do not bring id, they cannot get in, but others can. If I can I will give zero star for this cinema. It discriminates Asian people!!

elly shin

Food and service were great. However, the theater itself is quite old. The chairs weren't inclinable; the chairs are padded with tray attached but no options to lean the chair inclined.

Nicholas Kerr

Just watched Matrix Revolutions here and not bad, lots of space, nice n clean, covid protocols in place. Not bad

Hard Knox Stunts Inc

What happened to the VIP seats?! The new ones are almost unbearable for the length of the movie. The good is they are heated and electric, but the comfort is brutal. Your feet don't touch the floor when the seat is reclined, the back support is also horrible. Whoever chose these seats hasn't watched a whole movie in them. The old ones were way better. I'm not going back to VIP at Coquitlam until they get some new seats or put the old ones back. I would rather sit in the regular theatre seats. Fail.

Chris

Great place for movies especially in the VIP theaters. Prices for VIP are high of course, and concessions prices are ridiculous, but that's par for the theatre course I guess. Always clean and comfortable but the non-VIP restrooms are usually disgusting; hope you don't need a clean toilet seat. (Go before you go.)

Tianna Marie

Awesome theatre with the best arcade by far. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because I feel their VIP section needs an update. The seats are large but uncomfortable as they don't recline. The chairs slightly rock/bounce which I found pointless and had to sit upright the entire time.

Chad M

Very nice to be back in a theatre watching a movie on the big screen. Covid protocols were excellent. Can't wait to come back. This has always been my favorite Cineplex location.

christian stokes

Love the VIP TREATMENT, brings back a reason to go theaters. if you haven't tried it do it .. make it a date night ... you can dress up like sweater vest dress up. with the professionalism of the staff and the atmosphere it feels like a fancy night out .. when you are just seeing a movie :)

Bhanu Wadhwa

Not bad seats and not bad prices.

Lissa Buckler

Popcorn was too salty and sadly did not satisfy our "movie-theatre popcorn" craving. I do usually love theatre popcorn. I am also somehow continually shocked by how expensive the movie theatre is overall. However, it's a big "fancy" theatre and people seem to enjoy the VIP experience. I, apparently, prefer Landmark.

Ryu Matsuda

I watched a move at VIP theater first time. There were really nice waiters in the theater and seat was comfy and heat warmer worked great. At the middle of movie i felt a bit cold since my seat was directly under the AC. But otherwise it was cool experience

R Monkey

Didn't notice anything about the theatre because I was there to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home and it was amazing

Lead Sheep

We went with our kids (10 and 6) to see Shang Chi. All of the Covid protocols were fine - although they only looked at my vax QR code, didn't actually scan it. I have two big complaints. The first is that the volume was really loud - my kids were covering their ears at times. I should have used my dB app to check the levels. The second is the seats. They are so uncomfortable! They rock back under you, even if you don't want your seat to rock back. You spend the whole movie trying to keep your seat stable. We all left with sore backs and ringing ears.

Susan Jordan

This was my first time to use the VIP service at Cineplex. It feels like you're in a pub and the food and was great. I gave it four stars only because I wish it had reclining seats. Otherwise, it's a wonderful date night treat and look forward to doing it again real soon!

Ruby E.

First fell in love with this location when they introduced the VIP lounge & theatres - perfect for kid-free date nights. Ordering snacks & drinks from the movie seat felt so luxurious! This is still my go-to spot for family & friend movie dates with 3D and D-box options for all ages. I don't like overpaying for kids concession snacks & beverages so we usually make a point of eating before or after the show and there's plenty of eateries in the area to get you more bang for your buck. Most of the parking is underground, so don't waste time circling the upper lot of you're going at a peak time.

Oliver Hung

Nice VIP experience. Theatres were clean, private space was fantastic! Don't expect gourmet food though it was passable, and more for the convenience than a fancy palate. They did have popcorn-topia which is a Chicago mix style popcorn for you popcorn lovers out there! Check out the Wednesday hump day package for a better deal.

Rob Gedge

Typical theater experience . Unfortunately people feel the need to repeatedly pull their phone out during a movie. Not the theaters fault of course. But definitely ruins the experience especially when you spend the extra bucks for Dbox seats.

Caitlin Burnett

Went on a Tuesday so it was cheaper, and it was so nice. Had food in the restaurant, our server was super nice and friendly, then had popcorn and drinks brought to us in the theater, the seats are super comfy and more spacious. Definitely recommend trying the VIP out.

Justine Bouma

I wish the VIP reclined, I feel like this theater has fallen behind and needs to get an update when it use to be ahead of it's time. Also for the second time, I had one of your VIP pizzas (the Luau) and it was piping hot on the edges and cold and frozen in the middle. The self serve ice cream bar is also way way over priced and always missing peanutbutter cups, I preferred the old TCBY you use to have. The flavoured popcorn is awesome, please dont change that. I am only giving this theatre a 4 because of the VIP hot food and alcohol service (minus the frozen pizza) and the VIP lounge. Overall, this theatre has become greedy and outdated despite its recent changes.

Art Chow

Pretty clean, nice choice of food selections but longer lineups. VIP movie option and lounge is great for more legroom and more mature food offerings. You might want to buy tickets in advance online or on mobile since it can get really busy.

Peter Cross

Not as new as some others but has lots of theaters, so lots of options. VIP is cool, comfy seats and good service. Solid movie night option.

Viralkumar Mistry

Our group visited last week for spider man movie at this location. Parking: Most concern part. Parking spots are limited compare to available cars. We move around in parking for at least 15 min to find spots. After searching a lot, car was parked in basement area which is really scary, not cleaned & many area is barricaded. No proper signs ???? for basement parking. Theatre: screen is large but seats are not so comfortable. Front three raws are almost touch to screen, difficult understand design. Sound is good. 3D effect is also good but starting 10 min are not working properly which was compensated by management by providing extra movie tickets to all audiences. Food: it was not tried inside premises due to time limitation. We would like to avoid this location from next time onwards. Before movie: Almost 20 min promos & advertisements before starting movie which is too annoying.

Dan Yang

My wife and I have been spoiled with VIP, every time I go in staff is friendly, service is great, food is very decent, spacious seating, comfortable, the only thing is the movie we watch might be questionable, which doesn't affect my review, will come again and highly recommend to others who have not tried it. Assigned seating is great too incase you are running late, you know you have your seats.

Robert Leupen

Still a great place to see a movie. The building is aging a bit, but super clean and safe. I'm probably alone on this but the sound is super loud, ok for the feature film, not so much for the previews. Their hot dogs are great, had to throw that in.

Candice Grandy

My friends got buttered popcorn and both bags leaked the butter through one stained my friends pants and the other friend had butter all over her legs. When the friend with the stained pants went to complain about the stain the employee said “what do you expect? The butter will leak through the paper”. She had to ask for a tray to put the bag on. The employee acted as if she was a nuisance! We are middle aged women who have been coming to the theatre for 30+ years and this has never happened! Her pants are potentially ruined and it could have ruined a nice night out if the plan was to go out after the show with a huge butter stain on her pants! Get it together Cineplex!

Chris Baker

The VIP theatre seating is nice, but the food from the in-theatre menu is terrible and overpriced. Pretty sure they are just microwaving everything that isn't deep fried. Eat somewhere else nearby before you go.

Stanley Komarniski

We were happy to hear that VIP was once again open! We purchased tickets to see "On the Rocks" at 3:30pm on Sat Oct 3rd, 2020... When we reached the entrance for VIP, the greeter named Elba was totally rude. My wife said to her, "Please don't be rude!" Elba's response was that it was her job to be rude! Now there was not a lot of people there, so you would think they would treat the loyal customers like us a little better, especially with VIP where you pay much more! The rest of the staff was awesome, however Elba made it her mission to try and ruin our day!

Julio Bonilla

Was nice to go back to the movies with my kid

Andrew Bellhan

Awesome theater! It's a bit out of the way for me, but this sometimes plays movies that I cant find at other theaters, and this is also the only theatre in the area with a vip screen, so if you are a fan of that, I would definitely recommend coming here. This theater has a great arcade as well if you need to pass some time or want to play some games on a date before you catch a movie. Cant recommend this place enough.

Leanne Atley

VIP - a great idea, but poorly executed I found. I've gone VIP at Coquitlam Silver City three times but I've had similar experiences every time, so I mightaswell share. First of all, the service is extremely slow - if you plan on eating dinner before the movie, I would recommend arriving 1.5 hours early. Yesterday my boyfriend and I came only 30 minutes early because we only wanted drinks and popcorn to enjoy in the lounge before going in for the movie. We waited for a while, then we noticed that our drinks were sitting on the bar. It took 20 minutes from ordering to have them delivered, and by that point we had to awkwardly carry our drinks and popcorn into the theatre after all. Once in the theatre, I ordered another drink, thinking it would surely arrive more quickly than the first one, but I had come to accept that I wouldn't be getting a second drink when a server brought it to me - 20 minutes into the movie! It didn't seem like the issue was short-staffing, either - there were plenty of servers milling about, but they would often stand to chat around the bar (something I've noticed every time). The bathrooms are really nicely designed, but unfortunately they don't seem to be cleaned frequently. I mostly blame nasty fellow movie-goers for the mess I found in most of the stalls, but it was a shame they weren't cleaned more often. Other than those complaints, the seats were really nice and I enjoyed having lots of leg room. I just wouldn't expect good service coming here.

Nilesh Patel

Many screens, and good place for movie and time out

Jacob S

Cineplex just isn't as good of a value as landmark cinemas, however the convenience of the location is what brings me here once in a while. The amount of theaters is very large and they show many many different movies at once. The food is expensive of course as you'd expect from a movie theater. The seats are okay, they're less comfortable than a leather carseat. AVX films look and sound great. One thing I don't like is how the theater doesn't have reserved seating for every showing.

Simon Gee

Great place for entertainment. Movies are of course the main draw but there is an arcade. There's also a VIP theatre for adults which serves alcohol. A decent selection of food, nothing super healthy though. Seating in the theatres is comfortable.

Melina Dii

Love the vip option. However after last weekend I’m not sure I’ll return. Went to watch end game paid for vip ang got the complete opposite. Some guy in front of us was being served by a server. He was served 5 drinks in 30 minutes. Interesting when serving it right is 3 oz per person per hour .... He got so intoxicated he was talking the whole time and even argued with a man telling him to be quiet. He ended up (no joke) LIGHTING UP A SMOKE. Some vip when there is no one attending to what’s going on in there ...if liquor is allowed someone should be in the theatre attending to possible issues !!! Finally as a manager myself, I asked to speak to a manager. He was a young and clearly not seasoned manager. Who despite apologizing and (giving me a free movie pass ) , had the nerve to argue and tell me he Did show up and it wasn’t his fault the guy was gone (he left through the back door ) I would have left too if I knew that a guest went to FETCH a staff memeber to get me kicked out. He also had no idea about liquor laws or serving it right. Serve liquor and do it right or don’t do it. Way to ruin End Game for me. And way to ruin that cinema. I’ll drive to surrey or somewhere else moving forward. Thanks for the VIP upcharge though ...

Katherine Morris

Went to one of the VIP Movies. We went to the last show on a Friday night so it was anything but VIP, which amounts to a ridiculously cramped bar area and a server coming to your seat once. If your cinema is a long way from the bar, you have to walk aaaaalllll the way back to use the 4 or 5 unisex stalls (which were filthy and had pee all over the floor), even though, thru a plexiglass partition you can see more washrooms for the "regular customers" directly across from the theatres. Save your $ and go to a regular movie with your own booze!????

Wayne Stad

It's always about the movie, I take a young man with Downs Syndrome. He loves his movies. You might think about a special fare for these folks. With the ticket plus snacks OMG $40.00

We went to a vip movie, I love the more comfortable seats but this is the second time and the staff really seemed they would rather be anywhere else, doing anything else. We couldn't get anyone to agree to take our order but were told if we went and placed at the front counter "someone" would bring it to our seats... If my husband has to go all the way back to the front counter to ask for our snacks and drinks we certainly aren't going to wait for someone to bring it back when he's coming back anyway. Disappointing!! For the second time. This is why people stay home and watch movies, it was expensive and not worth what we paid.

Ken Dugger

We don't go to movies often any more and I come from an era of walking an hour to and from the theatre to save my money for popcorn and a pop. I thought the old $14 for a popcorn, pop and sweet was a hosing, so $18 was laughable. $18 for a pop, popcorn and candy for a movie!! Think about that. Deadpool 2 was really good.

Elise Weatherby

The amenities and seating is kind of dated but we enjoyed the movie we came to see. The selection of food and drink options were pretty good. But it's not the kind of place I would describe as "high end" or "fancy". The underground parking was handy.

Ofir Vaisman RCC, MCP, EFT

Good theatre experience but 2 year old could not fit in the seat. More dbox seating would be nice also

Ryan S

Clean environment for a movie theatre. Parking is plentiful and this location offers VIP options.

Chhase McFarlen

Had my first VIP experience watching Ghostbusters last night. Had a stellar time with my friends, and our server (Josh I think) was super polite and accommodating. That guy knew the menu inside and out. Had a great time and I will definitely be back! Get that guy a raise!

Sarah Kennedy

Felt safe with covid protocols and vaccination screening, we had a great time!

Eric

The theatre is nice enough, no complaints about that. The food did take a little longer than I would have hoped, but it was quite busy and I imagine it could have easily taken even longer somewhere else with that many people.

Chris M

The theater is nice and never feels too overcrowded like some down here. However, the VIP is terrible. My wife and I decided to have a date night there on a Wednesday in the VIP lounge, first date since our baby was born. I predicted the food wouldn't be great (cold bland food), but i was expecting to get ripped off. After ordering our food included in our $50 ticket we added a couple drinks to our meal. My wife ordered a caesar and I ordered an apple spice drink and an ice tea. We paid the extra amount and 10 minutes later the staff brought my wife a caesar salad and no drink for me. We explained were they went wrong and they came back DURING the movie with what we actually ordered and claimed we owed more money. I asked if we were credited for the first amount which they assured us we were. The next day I checked and there was still payments to them for the drinks totally over $30. No refund. I called to speak to a manager and nobody has ever called us back. If you can't organize your system well enough to provide just basic customer service, you shouldn't offer it. I consider this theft. Parents, do NOT waste your precious date night times here.

Peter Jokan

VIP is very good but we had messed up orders five minutes before the movie started. Staff members should be wasaaay more friendly if I pay more for an extra service. Huge room for improvement.

Travis Burgie

Very pricey but it is worth it for the price and it was cool to eat and drink ????in the theater

Cameron C.

Been going to this movie theatre since I was kid (20+ years). They have put a lot of renovations into this theatre. What I dislike about this theatre is the parking is horrible. There are a lot of spaces but whoever designed this lot was not using their heads. Besides the parking, the theatre has been well maintained. The new seats in the regular theatres (not the VIP) are alright but the people infront of you always tend to lean back. Benefits of this theatre is that there's a bowling alley, bubble tea, pho and korean fried chicken restaurant next to it. 2 min drive away from Wendy's too.

Iman Batmanghelichi

Overall good experience! Just the movie sound is always excessively, annoyingly loud!

Rachel Chan

My favorite theatre so far! Very spacious with arcade area and comfy seats in the theatre. Decided to go VIP today with the hubby and it was amazing!

Vasanth Ravichandran

Cool place great service, theatre and other arcades and foods too

Leere Park

Seats and the theaters were clean. Staffs are friendly.

Bonita Z

Can't go wrong with VIP usually, and this time was generally pretty good; very friendly and prompt staff, especially for people working on Xmas. The bathrooms were pretty dirty and could have definitely used more cleaning between shows. Someone left the door open on our theatre for about 20min, so there was a bright spot on the screen with no way to signal for someone to close it.

Mark Lastiwka

Good theatre. Parking can be a bit competitive during busy time but underground had a lot of space. VIP 19+ is a must to avoid noisy kids. Popcorn and other food is expensive, but that is par for the course for movie theatres. No IMAX here.

Jeffrey

Very clean. Lots of workers sanitizing. Not busy on a Tuesday afternoon which is great for viewing.

Philly Jones (PhillyJ_97)

Very far place, but rewarding upon arrival. A base with many restaurants nearby, it's rewarding to watch the film before or after a good meal. Hoping for more Japanese animated films to come to this theatre!

Eugenia S

Favourite Cineplex location. Prices for everything are through the roof (as usual). I recommend getting discounted movie passes from Costco beforehand. Arcade area is impressive and has convenient plastic cards versus old fashioned paper tickets.

Gurbir Singh

Great Experience after Covid . Sound is powerful. Enjoy the screen and sound alot.

Victor Valdes

Giving this theatre a 5 star rating because of the VIP. It's worth the investment if you want to enjoy the film without any kids/teenagers or inconsiderate jerks ruining your watching experience. The arcade is also a bonus.

Jaydee

Excellent customer service experience! We bought VIP tickets online and used a gift certificate code (Great Escape movie pass). We ordered the food that came with the deal (popcorn & 2 drinks), but hadn't been sent a code for the food part of the deal. The manager came to us to clarify the situation, and allowed us to use the deal even though we had no proof on us. She even gave us an extra popcorn for the trouble! Very pleased and looking forward to our next date night here.

ROBIN MALIK

Excellent food and services. Best restaurant for birthday parties and anniversaries. Awesome food and Even Better Service.

Chelle Desmarais

Have been going to more movies since VIP was introduced. The lounge is great; service and food is typically fast and good. Love the option of ordering food in my seat without having to make the walk to the counter and back to my seat before the movie. Prior to the VIP experience, I did not enjoy the movie going experience however, I now go more frequently. It is great to have an option of using Scene points to purchase these tickets as they start at $24 for regular VIP. Washrooms within the VIP section are typically cared for and much better than the stall washrooms available outside of the VIP area.

Bryan Wong

Good theatre for VIP. Going on a weekday it wasn't too busy, but the cast member at the ticket office couldn't even wait to finish my transaction before she continued chatting and texting in her phone... There was no one behind us and we were already running late, couldn't she have completed our transaction and then text? I enjoy coming here for the VIP experience but the VIP box office wasn't open.

Selena L

After going to landmark cinemas, the seat doesn't recline and the seats are smaller. I love having food at our chairs though. I normally only go landmark but friends wanted to watch avengers in vip. It was not bad, but seats are definitely better at landmark.

Alissa Taylor

My husband and I regularly go to this theater as it is the closest location to us that offers the VIP movie going experience. Last night, we went to see Thor, and with the holidays coming up we have both been extremely busy. We planned our movie date a week in advance and both had to work to make the 7:20 showing. Well, the 3D in the movie was quite off, it was distracting and nauseating at times, characters appeared see through at certain scenes and we both emerged with pounding headaches. Since we had planned this date so far in advance, we didn't want to walk out, the 'closest' location is still a drive for us and we had already bought food and drinks. We regularly see 3D movies, so this is not just us being picky, or unaccustomed to the set up. My husband chose to bring it to a manager's attention after the show, we were hoping for some level of customer service, a voucher or at minimum an apology and an offer to call us to let us know how and when this would be resolved. We wanted to understand the process and see if there is a projectionist that reviews these films or if there is something we could check prior to booking another movie because it was very disappointing and distracting. We walked out of a movie on Christmas day last year (Star wars) with the same disappointment as that is our holiday tradition each year, and it was ruined. She had no sympathy, was rude, and skeptical of us. We have no reason to lie, we don't want to be sitting here complaining on a Tuesday night.. what ever happened to customer service? Years ago when I worked at a movie store, I was instructed to give someone a free rental even if they just disliked the movie, let alone it made them sick or they had a hard time enjoying it due to something happening on screen. We will be going elsewhere - I have never been handled so unprofessionally. Talk to your customers like humans, I don't want to hear your sales training arguments when someone is speaking to you and being reasonable. We repeated ourselves calmly around 10 times, and then my husband left saying "Well I guess I just won't see movies here, and I will leave a bad review online" and THEN she says she was "just about to offer us a free table but now I won't". No you weren't. You had 10+ minutes to offer that, you were dismissive and rude, you gave us no plan of action or any sort of satisfying answer. We will absolutely never be back.

Debcar Jackson

VIP lounge on discount Tuesdays never disappoints. We've been to a few different locations and never had a bad experience however this location is in the top 5. Heated seats with power recline added to the comfort of a large "lazyboy" style seat with lots of leg room (I'm 6'2") makes for a great movie experience. The ordering of snacks from the comfort of these seats definitely completed the experience. Oh! forgot to mention the movie, it was good too.

Chantelle Christine

Went and saw a VIP movie, it was a little to posh looking for me, but the movie and seats were great. Felt nice not being squished and being able to have a few beverages before. The location is very good as well, right beside a bowling alley!

Alireza Tabatabaei

Friendly staff and huge place with lots of choice for up-to-date movies. But extremely expensive!!!!

Wen Wen H

Coquitlam VIP cinemas is always my favorite movie theatre to go among all. My husband and I were always going to VIP to enjoy the service and I was never asked to show ID until 3 weeks ago when we watched a movie. It's so close to my home, my husband drove, so apparently I did not need to bring my ID, no drivers license because I would think that I simply went to a movie theatre which is so close to my home. I got stopped by the VIP ticket section and asked for ID. I did not need to buy alcohol drink (normally even children can go to Earls or Cactus Club where they serve alcohol but as long as you don't order it); I was upset because I got stopped, and I tried to search my emails to see if I could find any scanned ID in email inbox. The guy called his manager. I identified myself that I am married, and my husband showed the ID. Manager asked my birthday and I answered him; eventually it took a while for my to enter the VIP section. I felt that I was not VIP at that night, and I did not have a mood to order food anymore. I never know that I need an ID to watch a movie.

Kevin S

Vaccine check. Spacious, easy parking. Seats recline, removable armrests, decent spacing, good legroom. Seat reservation. Sufficient staff.

Samantha Lee

went to grab popcorn to take home and the popcorn they provided was not fresh whatsoever, not even warm. Wanted to support them somehow but I guess this isn't a great time whatsoever. Missing their popcorn but I guess I'll just stick with home made popcorn

jacewebster

Wasn't really a pleasant experience. First when I tried to order cheese fries like was on the menu and advertisement the guy behind the counter didn't know how to punch it in and at first had no idea what I was talking about. For one of the items on the tv advertising display you think they would be at least a little aware of what I was talking about, and even the woman he asked for help didn't know what I was talking about. When they finally figured it out the add shows it with a drink and apparently it doesn't come with a drink so fine ii buy the drink and the guy has me an order ticket. I have never been to this theatre before a stood next to the bust line waiting for over five min as he served the next two people before I asked him do I have to go somewhere else and pick up my order and he says yah down there. Got was I mad like thanks guyaybe you should have said that when I ordered. Then when I went to pick up the order there is what looks like my order alrwafa sitting there getting cold and no one is paying attention for me to ask is this the right place is this my order so I spoke loudly and asked and the guy tells me yah it's my order but didn't even check my ticket to make sure then when I got to the theatre where my group was already seated and waiting at this point the lights where so dim I tripped on the stairs and lost part of my order on the ground. Not a good first trip to this place. The best part was after the movie on The way out the guy that was there to clean was very nice and wished us all a good evening and I thought that was great.☺️. Too bad the rest of the experience was a bust.

YJ Kim

It has not been updated since forever. Don't expect the other VIP cineplex level of comfort. Honestly I would rather go to Brentwood or Marine Drive

Lindsey Resler

It's a theater. VIP is nice. Expect to overpay like any theater. They won't let me order 6 pitchers of beer before the start of a movie though.

Doc Parker

Good views, 3-D Spiderman was excellent!

Jordan Dodington

Went to see Venom: let there be carnage. Great movie might I add. Service was quick, employees were super friendly, had no troubles at all. Movie went smoothly and got great seats aswel might I say. Overall a great experience, would reccomend this theatre if your swinging around the area or live around it!

Dan McIntyre

A nice, clean, chill theater. Never seems too crazy busy, staff rocks, and everything feels well maintained. The little arcade is great too. I don't like the parking lot setup and poorly planned pedestrian walkway flow, but it's a small gripe for an otherwise great cinema experience.

Jay Why

I've always been going to the regular theater which is pretty good, but this is the review of their VIP service. Save your money, eat somewhere else before coming and just buy a ticket to the regular show. We arrived over an hour before our movie started and had lunch at the lounge. We were the first people there and waited over 10 min before out waitress showed up even though there was someone behind the counter. I guess she was too busy doing her own things to even let someone know there were customers. The food itself took more than 1/2 hour to arrived and our mains arrived before our appetizers. The burgers weren't very good. The bun wasn't fresh and was cold when we got it. I don't think it was even toasted. The patty was lukewarm at best. We wound up taking our appetizers into the theater since our movie was starting. By the way, I didn't think it would bother me, but it is kind of annoying when people all around you is eating when the movie is playing. At least the lounge is pretty nice, and the bathrooms are clean with individual stalls. So, been there, done that. Really don't see any reason to use the VIP service again especially at the price they charge

Melissa N

Be sure to try out VIP sometime. It''s more money but the comfier seats and adult only viewing is worth a try. Not to mention drinks that come to your seats! This theatre is known for having better show times as well since it's larger

Shanda L

This place needs to be renovated. They charge way to much for vip. you can go to landmark cinema in surrey and have reclining chairs in every movie for no extra charge. This place is a rip off.

Soroush Mir

The food is terrible. The dessert also really sweet and terrible. I definitely recommend having your food in a proper restaurant. Their prices is Cactus Club prices but the quality is lower than McDonalds. Their pizza is super salty, the chicken strips were very tasteless and dry and their cheese platter was a disaster.

Brenna S

The movie experience can do with an upgrade here, seats and floors are dirty. Vip section can also do with a change in menu. This used to be a great theatre a few years ago, it just needs an upgrade

Joshua M

Good place to watch a movie. This location is starting to show its age but overall a good experience.

Rose McGill

Viewed West Side Story, there was only 3 of us at the 1:25 show. When I saw the Bond movie there was 5 people. Go see a movie, show your vaccine passport, enjoy and support the movie theatres!

Liliana Lau

Great movie, the place is very nice, the service excellent and the food great, we ordered any in not time our order was there in our VIP seats, I went to see 007 long movie but it was worthy.

Jaiden K

Went to the Frozen 2 movie with Family Network of Deaf Children. It was amazing to see the effort that Cineplex gave and the assessability they offered is somthing every movie theatre should strive for. (Perhaps more often:) It was also really amazing that we were able to see the movie on the opening day. The whole event felt really inclusive. Fantastic job.

Paige Griffiths

My husband and I had a great date to watch The Suicide Squad (highly highly recommend)!

gab perron

I tried calling them and no way to talk to anyone. I wanted to ask them why they are not playing "PIG" which looks like a great movie but the answering message is completely pointless and redundant. Not impressed in the slightest, with all the money you guys make put some effort in customer service!

Cas

It's just ok, It could use serious up grade. Seats are older and do job but not best. Popcorn isn't as good, fresh or flavoured here compared to some but again do trick. Not big selection of beverages either very limited. Staff never seems happy behind food counter. So not my first location choice to go.

Mikenna Stevens

Honestly I'm appalled at the conditions of this theatre. The seats are so outdated and close together that you have to ram the person behind you's knees in order to sit down. The chairs are also wildly uncomfortable and clearly need to be replaced. They never dimmed the lights slowly to turn them off or back on which is super jarring to the eyes. Not only that, when a movie's start time begins, I'm expecting a few trailers and then the movie beginning. My movie was supposed to begin at 11:40 but we suffered through 15 minutes of advertisements before even getting to the trailers. Tickets at Cineplex cost more money than competitors for significantly worse quality of a viewing experience. The staff at this location are all great which is the only thing preventing me from giving a 1 star. Can't wait for the buyout to go through.

tikitamara

This is just a fancier version of your typical theater. Unless you plan on ordering food and drink, just go to their regular theaters as this one cost a bit more ($15 a ticket on a tuesday). We were a bit sad as we missed ordering food because we were a few minutes late too.

Ella D

Cool place, nice pre movie games but everything is REALLY expensive. Large popcorn is 13 dollars. Arcade is even more expensive, 20 points ( 1-3 plays ) is 5 dollars plus tax! If you're looking for a cheaper option, try Hollywood 3 cinema near pitt meadows.

Mara Bigalky

I absolutely LOVE going here. It's such a fun theatre. Great seats, great food options and movie merchandise. Staff are young, but really nice & helpful. Will most definitely return ????????

Greg Domville

Silvercity used to be the king. They still are a great experience with a big selection of fast food and treats. Tons of cool video games. Lots of screens. So I guess they still are King for total experience. VIP is epic with no kids allowed and beer delivered to my seat. All that aside landmark is pulling ahead though because of two major items....the seats are freakin amazing and the ability to reserve your seat on every movie purchase

Mindful Living

Great theater. Very clean. I definitely prefer their AVX and VIP seats, but even the regular are comfy enough. Staff was friendly, especially our VIP waitress. Prices were high for food in VIP, but that was expected, and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Had a gourmet pizza, one of the best I've had. Sound and visuals are perfect. Really, nothing to complain about at all. I'll return to Cineplex every time, though this particular location is a bit far from home.

Tristyn Lippingwell

Really easy design to the place. Lots of theatres, well separated VIP section and you don't need a ticket to play in the arcade. It's an easy concept to follow. Great selection of films and you can feel the staff are quite cultured and into what they do

Julie “Emerelde” B

The past 2 visits have been disappointing. The restrooms in the VIP area on both visits have been filthy. I suggest they check and clean them more frequently. Food service was slow and burger was a greasy mess. You pay premium prices for the VIP , it should reflect that.

Minwoo Choi

I love their Tuesday movie ticket discount. Amazing, and also their staffs are managing cordially during the pandemic period. Thank you!

Tim Lee

Not all Cineplex Theaters are the same -- The Coquitlam location sets the bar! There's just something about the Coquitlam theater that perfects the movie going experience. Not only are the screen projectors calibrated correctly and consistently, but the cleanliness and quality of the food is exceptional. The VIP theater serves up amazing food (spicy chicken tenders and fries are done very well). Even the popcorn for the general concessions are consistently better than other Cineplex theaters. I'm not sure how they're doing this, but certainly hope they keep it up. Along with the great staff, this theatre make going to the movies a special treat.

DJ Temple

This is really more of a review of the staff and atmosphere. We dealt with multiple people from the ticket cashier to the concession staff. Everyone just seemed so miserable and was chatting from a useless script without even making eye contact. It was difficult to enjoy the setting and movie.

Anat Rabkin

The cinema are great, but I'd advise eating elsewhere rather than the VIP restaurant. In their defense, I haven't tried their food for a while, but when I did... It didn't leave a good impression. Still, the cinemas are clean and the quality of viewing is great. The little play and concession area is very nice.

Melissa Evans

I love this theatre above all other theatres. Their service is exactly as a theatre should be: efficient, clean and knowledgeable, friendly staff. I came here for a stars and strollers event with my 11 month and they do a great job. I highly recommend this theatre.

Grant Morrison

Vaccine passport check in, get yourself to the theater an extra 15 min early to ensure you get in ok. Less lines at concession, great being back at a theater to watch movies again. So good. Glad seats are booked.

Reza Rad

We plan based on google showtime to go and watch little woman standard on Sunday 29th of December at 9:20. When we arrived to the theatre we realized that only VIP is available and for a large group of people that could make it very expensive. We made a request to get a discount on VIP and I don’t think it would cause Cineplex any issue but they refused and said only through their website we need to check the showtimes of all movies. My question here is how is it possible that google is showcasing cineplex schedule and in fact when they do why they don’t mention anywhere that people are not suppose to plan based on that. As a long time customer of cineplex I’m so disappointed by their manners.

behtab behseta

If a Google time shows a movie starts at a time and your site says differently you have to honer the customer. We went to watch little woman on Sunday 29th and based on Google search it showed it to start at 9:30 for a standard screening, getting to location we found Google showed wrong time and 9:30 was VIP and standard was 10:30. The employee and supervisor were dismissal of our simple request to honer us and let us get in the 9:30 with standard price. It's very straight forward Google showed us wrong information. We planned based on that and we did not want to pay 25$ for VIP . And really did not want to stay till 10:20 for next screening. The Cineplex employees seems to not find this issue important. And similarly told us Google is wrong. Well yes Google is wrong we clearly see that but Google information gets feed from where? Your site.. we ask to speak with a senior or a superior to see if they can honer our very simple request. Which to our surprise the supervisor was also quite bothered by the fact that we were asking to be accommodated. He said we can not change the price. We cant do anything it's googles fult. Either pay 25$ or wait and see other one. I am very disappointed I have worked in customer services all my career and done all kinds of it. From face to face to over the phone and this situation requires training. 1) I am a paying customer least you can do is aknowledge my frustrations 2) find me a solution Now a days with so may streaming service people find it hard to justify coming to cinemas and when you do you are not accommodated as you should. Yes we stayed an extra hour to watch the 10:20 show time and it did not worth it. I lost sleep and simply won't return to this location ???? So my 2 friends Try to train and coach your employees Disappointed

Jonathan Chung

I have to say, the theatre itself isn't bad. Well, the floors are pretty sticky. So, nothing special. But the parking is super confusing in spots. The snow wasn't properly cleared. And the underground has really poor signage. They have signs pointing to the emergency fire exits, but when you're driving down there, there's no signs pointing how to get out with a car.

kyle ekeli

One of the nicest movie theatres around. It has now moved all seats to assigned seating which has made a big difference. Staff are usually great and accommodating if there is an issue. It has seen quite a few face lifts over the year and is now one of my favorite theatres.

Tim Gjernes

Love Cineplex! They're not cheap but it's a great chain with good theatres, good concession and I love the Scene rewards program. This location is big with VIP which is fantastic. Their theatre is as clean as can be expected. It's up to date with many theatres from regular to DBox.

Peter Daviduk

Prefer Landmark cinemas with 5he full tecling Laz-e-boy seats

Doug Sabin

VIP section is great. food is top notch and this is one of our favorite movie theaters around. Lots to do good safety protocols.

Tyrone Woodruffe

Dont do this often, but having seat service is the best, little pricey for drinks though

Clinton Chan

Clean and well maintained. Staff practices covid protocols and checks for vaccination passport.

Frank Su

Went to see Dune 2021 and sat beside the isle. The arm rests had visible drink stains that were shiny. The cup holders were sticky. The carpet on the isle gave off an obvious odour (spilled drink smell?). Considering it's covid season, maybe cleaning the seats more often would be a good idea? Movie + sound system was great tho.

Matthew Laws

Amazing size, screens and arcade. Ample parking and ticket prices. Snacks were on the pricey side. Our bags weren't checked so bring your own!

Jonathan Ng

We only went because we have the free passes. We got served pop without ice and had to wait because the ice had been cleared out. While I get it was a Wednesday night, we went for a 9:35pm showing and the ice had already been cleared out? Normally we go to Landmark Cinemas because all of their theatre rooms have the reclining seats and can be reserved and the prices are cheaper.

Amir Hariri

Have been to this theater twice, both for their VIP screens. Would definitely recommend it. Well worth the extra ticket price to have a quieter, more enjoyable movie experience. Also free parking is a definite bonus.

Dennis A

Great service and clean theaters.

Caitlin Erickson

Socail distancing for seating was wierd and incessant. We hade people sitting directly in from of us and one seat in between us and the next people. And no one was supposed to get up to use bathroom during the film. Plus a huge gap on the left and one row down.

J M

Pretty clean but can get really busy at times. Dues have a large number of theatres and a VIP section. VIP food is pretty good, drinks are well priced and being able to consume alcoholic drinks during the movie is a bonus; just be mindful that in a three hour movie drinking does lead to a mid bathroom break.

Sheryl Zulueta

VIP tickets to watch the latest Bond film. The service was spectacular. Was in VIP 5. The worker was attentive and super friendly. The food and rinks came out quickly. One thing I couldnt figure out how to put up the legs if they did.. it felt a bit odd being reclined without your feet up. Though I'd def try VIP again. Also washrooms were individual and clean!

Trella “Trellasaur” C.

I always enjoy going to this theatre but last time I went I tried out the VIP lounge and whoa! Not sure if I'll ever go back to regular viewing! The lounge area was cozy, it has plenty of tables to eat at but also some comfy chairs for sitting and a fireplace to warm up by. The theatres are spacious--no need to get up if someone wants to get past your seat, the aisle is plenty wide. We were able to order from a surprisingly thorough menu (we grabbed a milkshake since we had just had lunch, but next time we're going for the cheese and meat tasting plates). Each seat has wide arm rests, one side has a tray you can pull out and move towards you, it reveals a cup holder. Comfiest movie experience ever, by far. I'd definitely recommend.

Mika

Went there to see Avengers infinity War on the other day, we arrived there 50mins before and were hungry so we decided to try food at the theatre. I was not expecting good quality food because you are at the theatre, you are getting food from Fast-food. Ordered hotdog set menu, chicken bites, poutine which were almost $35 (lol it’s theatre food price so no surprise there) and took 15mins (hello? Fastfood? There were at least 15 kitchen staffs and I was very confused why it took that long) we were basically rushing to eat them so we don’t miss the movie time. After a few mins later, we realized not only they forgot to give us any utensils, but forgot one of our orders. Had to go outside and wait again and we had about 15mins to finish them - people at the foodcourt didn’t seem to care. We watched film at the vip theatre which costs you a lot more and were expecting somewhat premium quality comfortable seat but other than you get bigger side table, I don’t really understand why we had to pay so much for this experience. (Yes you can order food before film but it ain’t free, right?) Overall experience- food, theatre - not happy :P I think Landmark theatre in New West is far better quality for a lot cheaper price

Samantha Kuss

Was great to finally go back to the movies, the only thing that made me take a star away was that they didn't have the macaroni bites available and that was what I was looking forward to most :p

Kam Bad

Better off going to Guilford Cinema even the employees here agree. Only came here because we got free tickets, but ended up leaving 10min into movie. Not even worth the time for free viewing lol. First of all let's start with the food poutine fries were cold same with the gravy and cheese was as if it was still frozen, not to mention the 30 min wait. Then the seating is awful for reg admission Dbox or VIP 19 plus is the only option to enjoy yourself. Lastly when you can hear people chewing popcorn because the seating is so tight and volume is so low it's time to go. We go to the theater to enjoy a movie this was anything but.

Mitch Brown

Once you go VIP, you never go back. Big comfy leather chairs, reserved seating, and best of all - table side food and drink service before the show! Recommend getting there 30 minutes or so before the show so there's time to take full advantage of everything.

Jenny Tough

Movie theatre with all the bells and whistles. It's crazy noisy in the atrium because of the games arcade and the concession stand staff are a nightmare. Usually there are 5 of them huddled in the doorway to the back staring at you vacantly as you wait for service at the counter. Frustrating and far from relaxing! The theatres are fine, the washrooms vaguely clean, sound is good.

Spooky Pumpkin Inok

Good place for movies with a large variety, but often disorganized system. When there is an issue with a movie auditorium, there is a bit of a lack of communication. For example, I went to see a movie and there was no preshow because of an issue with the equipment, but no one said anything. I was told this by another customer who left the auditorium to ask a staff member why the screen was still black 10 minutes before the movie. TLDR Good, but sometimes it feels like there is no care put into letting guests know when there is an issue.

T Waddell

Silver City parties are a disaster!! No clear communication about timing means guests are at a loose end. The so called party "host" leaves you to fend for yourself. Get ready to serve food, drinks and cake all by yourself the host will just walk away. Need condiments for the hot dogs or an extra plate? Forget it! Once the host has left the room there is no way to call them back without abandoning the party and walking all the way up to the front desk and trying your luck with them. They won't help you until they are done serving customers in the lineup or the host checks in on the walkie talkie. Hope you like the view at that desk you will be spending a lot of time just standing there. The fun doesn't stop! You don't let any kind of party pass or id so when you walk out to the front the ticket checker may not let you back in until (wait for it) they find the party host! Did I mention the theater won't confirm the exact time of the party or if it is in 3d until just a few days before the party? That will be well after you would want to send out the invitations. This means you will have to send invitations with an approximate time and confirm with your with your guests later. This needlessly complicated way to run a party can all be yours and more from Silver City!

First time doing the VIP thing. Saw joker and it was soooooo good. The bottle if red wine I had for me and my date made it real nice. The food we ordered was pretty good but the chairs.....ooooo the chairs...my word the chairs. Heated and power adjustable so comfy. Was a really awesome experience overall. O and the lounge was nice as well.

James Ong

The VIP theaters are very good with tables and added cushion but the ordinary ones are not that bad either. The only thing is that you're stuck with whatever food they have there since there's hardly any places to buy food nearby.

Asif Asad Jan

Not bad. Though in my opinion, the picture quality wasn't sharp enough.

Jared Bayley

Seems like an excellent movie theatre! Lots of arcade games at the entrance which provide fun for kids, and kids at heart! ;) Employees are good and attentive, and the theatre is kept spick-and-span. This is probably the best theatre to go to for new releases when they come out. Fantastic overall, and I recommend for sure!

Colm Keating

Good cinema but the most uncomfortable chairs I’ve ever watched a movie in. At least my abs got a workout.

Rob Hahn

I love this place. I love the VIP. Great place to watch a movie.

Annette Chia

Convenient location and ample parking. They do check proof of vaccination with ID. Staff are helpful.

Heath Delzer

This place earns the 5 stars for the VIP lounge. It's awesome! Best seats in the theater, You can order a pitcher of beer, or a glass of wine, munch on some snacks, and sit back and relax and enjoy the show. The way it was meant to be! Great for a parents night out, without the kids!

Chris P

Cool experience. Big leaning chairs and swing tables attached. They have servers before the movie so u can get food and drinks. The squid and the " Give me all the Vidka" fishbowl were awesome. You would think the squid would stink up the theater but it didn't smell bad at all.

Hondaputz

The facilities are generally pretty clean, the staff are pretty easy to to deal with, friendly. General seating is ok if you are on the smaller side, VIP is way better for comfort. The sound is good but the picture clarity is ok at best.

Allen McKee

Cineplex has so much to learn from Landmark! Went to a Xmas showing in the VIP cinemas and the seats were so uncomfortable my partner was getting back pain and I started cramping. We didn't mind paying extra for an adults only showing, but we'll put up with kids at Landmark for their amazing seating.

Jerrid Larkin

The food is way to expensive. You are losing alot of space and if you tweaked a few things I guarantee ???? that your profits would rise immensely. Just saying. Besides that...great seats ???? ( little bit squeaky), great picture and sound and workers.

Brayden Erickson

Great theatre for date nite, the VIP section is really cool if you want the special experience of dinner and a movie and being able to drink alcohol in the theater, the extra large seats and movable tray make everything super comfortable, The concession prices are a little high as with every Cineplex so it is to be expected. Overall it's a great location

Kristy C

It's a good theatre, lots of screens, some pretty nice concession choices, and am arcade. Movies seem to run longer at this location, probably because they have the extra room. That said, it's also more expensive, whether we're taking food or ticket prices... best to go on a Tuesday for cheaper tickets, and use a Scene card to get a discount on your concession purchases!

Brandi Ciampichini

More people should be going to the movies. They have social distancing protocols in space. If we don't support these businesses I'm worried they won't survive.

Rocky johnson

All seats should recline. I guess strawberry hill cineplex is the best in the lower mainland as all their seats recline and the Dbox ones are even more roomy. The worst part of Cineplexes behaviour is that they make you watch commercials about cars restaurants and everything unrelated to seeing a movie. The good old trailers are still cool however commercials to drive up revenue is wrong when you charge 15 to 25 a seat. I see less movies at the theater now to boycott this issue and just upgraded my home setup to compete with them.

Emily McRae

There may have been a fire alarm shortly after the movie started, but the show restarted quickly when the false alarm was identified and we all received free passes for another movie. I always enjoy VIP seating!

Harald Gill

I will only go to the VIP theaters. Not only because kids aren't allowed, but the seats are so damn comfortable. Plus getting service to your seat is great. The only thing missing is it would be nice if the seats reclined a bit.

Marina Antunes

Service much improved since the last time we were here. In the lounge, food came quickly and waitress was attentive. Theatre itself is losing lustre. We were in VIP #4 and half of the seats creaked. Also problematic: people ordering food through commercials and trailers. Food was still being served 10 minutes into the movie which was very disruptive

Evan Friesen

Went to see First Man and the entire time I couldn't focus on anything because the bulb in the projector was so burned out that it made visible distortion of colour that was very distracting. After the show we had to complain profusely to staff for anyone to even notice or care. Clearly they're trying to mill the projector life for as long as they can hold off spending the money on a replacement, instead of making the theater experience better.

Paul Wu

There are new machines installed to purchase tickets instead of waiting for a person. The software seems to run slow. I had to put my phone close to the ledge, by the sticker, for the scanner to register my scene card.

Shannon Bradley

My first time at the VIP theater and I really enjoyed it! I felt pretty VIP, everything looked sophisticated and lovely. The seat waiter service was so fun, and the food was awesome. Recommend it!

Masih Yaghoubi

It’s a good theatre. Pretty big with so many screenings. I’d love to try the VIP next time since I usually go to the Park Royal for the VIP cinema.

Shawn H

Spend the extra money go for the VIP. Service was excellent, food and drinks good. There signature drinks are on the sweet side. Bathrooms bring the grade down but they were not gross.

Arian Asgari

Horrible customer service. Spent over $200 plus tips in the VIP section, and was brought to us old cold popcorns and when asked to exchange twice, it was ignored....the nachos had two small pieces of chicken on them as well....too bad they make us pay before getting our food... other wise wouldn't give them a cent of tip. All the VIP staffs that worked on March 1st closing shift need to be replaced. Horrible fake customer service...only working for tips. Hope ofhers learn from this and not even leave a penny of tip for "Doing their JOBS"...

Michael

The VIP is not the same as elsewhere. The seats are really close together and don't recline the same as other VIP cinemas.

Darryl Lim

Definitely one of the better movie theatres in the lower mainland. Before the VIP, I rarely ever went to any theatres but now that it’s changed, a great plan for a Fridays. VIP set up is one of the best I’ve seen and it’s great when you can order a meal before watching the movie. Would definitely recommend it

Santino

I have been here a few times for the VIP Date Night! Excellent value, great seats, food is not half bad, and getting to eat and drink at your seat with the built in trays is awesome! Also, have no kids in the theatre is also awesome!

Teddy Nedelcu

The place, while nice, doesn't have fully reclining sofas like other cinemas which charge the exact same price.... And the vip recliners (in my opinion) are almost a little worse than the regular recliners at others. Otherwise, it's a pretty good cinema. Every time I've been there it was clean.

Norma Boone

This is my favourite place to see movies. The VIP theatre is the best theatre I have ever been to. All the seats fully recline and it is the most comfortable movie experience. It is relatively new so everything is pretty and clean!

Erin Terry

First time trying the VIP Cinema experience through Cineplex, and it was okay. Our theater was very empty, and we had one couple sit directly beside us. I'm sure why they're Auto selection system would not try to spread people out but oh well. It was interesting to be served a meal while eating a movie, the table was very small I didn't quite reach across the whole seat, about 1/4 of the way across. I made sure to get finger food and this turned out to be a great plan. They could do with a little bit more

Judith McLean

the website flipped me to a different location and I paid for tix, can I use those tix at Coquitlam site vs Marine Drive Vancouver

Ben Rogers

Pretty good place. Nice facilities. But WAY TOO MANY commercials before the movies now. 20+ minutes of commercials (and only about 5 minutes of that was trailers). Pretty unbearable as they raise the prices of theatre movies, but also increase the commercials before the movie, increasing their income. I'd be fine if the prices were reasonable - and let's not even get started with the food prices!! But great theatre, just bad business practices in general across all Cineplex

Len B.

Caught a 915 show and got my fix in. We were the only ones in theatre which as a customer was great but for the company well..... Get some and help em out!

Darinder Ghuman

We paid for the VIP experience but we were greatly disappointed with the subpar seats. The service was good and the rest rooms were clean but charging for VIP package and providing less than VIP is not good. The seats were crack and were noticeably torn. We were in theatre two back row.

Jenny Bara

The staff here ALWAYS go above and beyond and make my day! I love the efficiency, cleanliness, friendliness and overall atmosphere at this location. The food is delicious (VIP or Not) and everyone is great! I once lost my keys in their theatre and they were so helpful!

Jeeah Lee

I love it! Awesome & Amazing movies playing! One staff member was very rude to me when I came in and she said oh we are not open yet in a very very very very super sarcastic rude tone! She just should've said that oh sorry we are not open yet, can you please wait outside! The hours on Fridays should change to earlier than 11:10am, it should be changed to earlier time like 11am instead of 11:10am!

Kyla Tan

Went with a bunch of friends to watch captain marvel. I thought that since I have been to the marine gateway location, it would be somewhat the same vibe. But I was surprised as the seats were smaller and didn't have the same VIP vibe as marine gateway.... Service was really great though! So that didn't take away from the overall experience.

Ruth Currie

Started with drinks and appys in the lounge and ordered entres in the theatre. Very good service and friendly personable waitstaff. Enjoyed my Bacon and Blu burger. Loved the movie Downton Abby. A very enjoyable girls night out!

Khurram Ijaz

The VIP seating is not worth the price. No reclining seata not are they comfortable compared to other cineplex location I have visited. The only plus side is the option to order food and drinks while being inside the theatre. As for the movie experience its the same as any other theatre.

Mo shay

Great movie theater with tonnes of games and good screens. The sound is good and the vip always makes you feal special. The food at the VIP section sucks. Its extremely expensive and the quality is super low. Just stick to pop and popcorn and the fries or yam fries. Everything else is too expensive and i am telling you right now once again, the quality of the food is terrible. I feel like a whole bunch of teenagers are making the food. The flavours lack and the portions are small. The chicken smells and the salad lack the right level of sauce. Just beware. If you take someone to impress them, don't order the food or understand that it will disappoint. I've tried enough dishes to know this

Cathalino Bayben

The VIP theatre is expensive and it sucks. I sat myself in the lounge and didn’t know I needed to be seated. Instead of telling me letting me know this one blonde server told the others not to go to me and gave me the most evil stare. Then proceeded to ask a manager to tell me to go to the theatre. I will not be back. The seats are so uncomfortable and do not recline. Servers ARE the WORST here and really not worth it just to have a beer while watching a movie.

Mark McDonald

Great theatre! It's newly renovated and it features the new VIP 19+ cinemas. The only downside is the parking. If you come too late finding a spot is impossible and the parking lot/underground structure is like a maze. On a busy night, get there 1 hour early

Squeeshee Sponge

Felt like it went downhill from the last time I have been there. Ripped seats, parking lot looks sad and unkept.

Delaney Steel

Chairs don't recline really and were pretty hard, but you do get more space than the regular theatre. Ordered the chicken tenders thinking they'd be good finger food in a dark theatre, except they were pre-slathered in a bucket sauce... was pretty gross. The staff were super friendly, which is why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2. Other VIP theatres are better than this one.

Jordon Randall

We haven’t been to a movie since the pandemic started. I must say I don’t miss the high prices. But that aside what has irked me is the outtakes outlet at this location. Normally you can get a “meal” if you wanted to do a quick dinner and a movie. In this case the outlet had 1/4 their normal food items. But their vip menu was intact. I would have liked a movie and saw they were making them in the kitchen. But I wasn’t allowed to order one. There was a sign for the pulled pork sandwich on the side but that wasn’t yet on the menu. In a week they said. So all in all. Went to the opening night of a major movie and am currently disappointed with the half hearted reopening of this venue. Also many digital signs were broken or acting up. I think they could do better.

Catherine K

One of my favourite theatres. COVID protocols are in check and my vaccine card was checked properly. Friendly staff too. Thanks for keeping us all safe CineplexCOQ! So good to be back in theatres!

Casey Darbyshire

Huge theatre, good snacks, average prices, old style chairs (not the nice new recliners like most), didn't open the theatre for us to sit until 7 minutes before our show. We'll try a different one next time.

Tanishq Pradhan

Generally OK. Seats are a bit shabby and worn out but we can live with that. You could probably afford the down payment for a nice house for the price of popcorn.

Alvin Lee

Visited the VIP cinema to watch the bond movie yesterday. Everything was perfect including the sound system, servers’ attitude, snacks, seating arrangement, except that the lighting adjustment of the movie was a bit too dark on the screen, compared to the same movie shown on YouTube or my Sony OLED!

Andrew Bethel

After being closed for so long, you would have thought they could figure out what to do when they reopened. It was very disorganized, line up outside on the circles but if you came from the other side of the parking lot, you have no way of knowing there were any circles to stand on. Staff taking names at the door but one staff stood in the doorway so only one group at a time could give there name while the other 2 staff did nothing. To top it off, they are now advertising to ask for layered butter on popcorn and now charging more for it. It was no surprise that on Father's Day weekend there was maybe 30 guests in the entire theatre.

Chris Khoo

It's a good place for families - clean theatres and friendly staff. No overcrowding issues here. Docked a review star because it doesn't have pop self-dispensers (the server fills the cup behind the counter).

Cathy Etter

Food at the cineplex needs some attention. It would be great to have some vegetarian opptions. For the price of the food make sure that some basic training goes into how to serve food, the gravey was a way to thick and the cheese was a big clump on top of the fries. The chocolate soft icecream is the worst I have ever tasted and toppings were tastless. You only get one star because the women who served the soft icecream had excellent customer service skills, it is unfortunate that the quality of "food" was not there. It appears that the VIP food gets the attention it needs but the regular food area has gone down hill

Jonathan Kim

This cinema, to say the least, is overpriced (which shouldn't be a surprise). However, what came at shock to me was the sheer price for event tickets. I had watched BTS: Love Yourself Tour and it cost me a grand total of 17.95$ without tax! However, their Tuesday deals can be very advantageous. While the location might not be ideal (not being any near to any major transporation centre), this theater is decent for local residents.

Ned Stojakovic

We bought tickets online...we arrived 15 minutes before show......we couldn't find parking spot available on Cineplex lot, so we parked at the Superstore parking lot, which is 10 minutes walk from the theatre.....we were late.....we hoped we will missed only special features....but for some reason there's no commercials or movie trailers..... movie started on time(!?!) That must be great for the people who are already there.....and then hell become real! It was 3D movie, but not available 3D glasses...no service available, so we looked through recycled box....finally in, so late for the movie.... of course someone was sitting on our seats....can you imagine how many people were mad at us? The seats were wet and sticky the floor was sticky and already dirty..... like it's not cleaned whole day........Luckily movie was good, sounds and screen was really good.....we watched Alita, great sci-fi movie but was two hours long.... after we needed washrooms..... men's washroom was awfully dirty....no soaps, no paper towels, hand dryers extremely slow, broken with super hot air...... women's washrooms were so disscusting that couldn't be used.....after that we had to talk to the manager.....super nice lady but she needs some managing skills, after all Cineplex at the Coquitlam needs to be closed! The only reason why I didn't wrote longer review is the fact, that super nice manager gave us complimentary tickets for next movie....I just hope it will work in any other Cineplex movie theater.....my experience with Coquitlam Cineplex was really bad....do not go there unless you have really low, low standards!

Farting “Farting Dragon” Yu

Cineplex for Covid situation is not that great your seated side by side with strangers.Pretty sure if your seated your best option is to wear your mask while watching the movie but ,what about the popcorn ,well I guess that is your own risk to have popcorn and eating unmasked. Besides that I went into the VIP section and the service was pretty good, then when I went out the the regular concession the guy sort of forgot some stuff in my combo. It was a ok experience but probably since covid it’s wasn’t as much I guess…

One of the better cinemas in town, including a luxury theatre. Ample parking, lots of games in the arcade, nice theatres with comfortable seats. Also went to the VIP theatre, did was good, prices weren't crazy, and seats were great. Well worth the extra money for us!

Diana Cant

They messed up our order so much. Food and service wasn't the best for what you are paying. They charged for extra butter in my popcorn but never added it, it was like eating styrofoam. Servers are inconsistent and have no idea of what is happening. They still owed me the difference from the order mistake which they never gave me back. Bathrooms were in terrible condition with overflowing garbage and unkept toilets ????. Vip area sitting is meh, not as comfortable as I thought it would be. Overall a huge disappointment. Would not recommend. Save your money and go to the regular theater.

Daniella Molina

Wow it is great. It is a completely adult experience. Going to the movies got an upper level! I was our date night and we love it. My wife and I recommend ????% the service is really and the place is as great as Cineplex described. If you have kids, or just want to have a date night with your partner, have some drinks and some snacks and watch a movie... Go!

confused

Outstanding theatre! Lines are long to get in but move quickly, tickets aren't too expensive and customer service is great! Food there is expensive like most other places, but what really kills it is the wait for the food which is pretty long considering how many registers they have open. The theatres themselves are good, have wheelchair accessible seating, and some have D-BOX seats to experience the movie in 4D. Little lights illuminate steps so you'll never fall, and movies are played with excellent quality and top notch sound. Parking is plentiful, with underground parking as well as a second lot not too far away. Wheelchair accessible parking is available here as well. An arcade is also located in the lobby for those who wish to play a few games before watching their movie. Great atmosphere and overall a fun place for a birthday party or just a night out woth friends.

Matt Dlutek

I did the VIP option for the first time and loved it! The seats were very uncomfortable though and made it hard to watch the movie at times. Also, the staff were very friendly before the movie but completely ignored everybody afterwards.

Collin Sluggett

I forgot how expensive it is to go see a movie and how poor the service is. We paid extra for the VIP because we don't often go to movies and were hoping for a better experience. It's not what we got. The projector had green dots on the screen which is very distracting, my seat wobbled like one in a bar with uneven legs plus the seat is very uncomfortable, the door to the theater was left open the entire time and it was letting light into the theater making it hard to see the screen. 55 dollars for 2 tickets + snacks and we ended up with a 100 dollar evening. Not worth it. You're better off staying home watching movies and getting take out / snacks.

Alexei Trebounskikh

VIP auditoriums are very nice, and the place is a bit more spacious and not as busy as Metropolis at Metrotown. Other than that, it's a regular Cineplex. There is additional parking underground.

Todd Engel

Great theater but concessions are over priced and are low quality.

Evan Kim

Theater is great and there's also good service. The staff aren't as friendly and it can get really crowded, but other than that, it's pretty good overall.

Sheila Friesen

First time back to a show. Felt very safe. Thanks

kayll spence

Decent service, I don't like the switch to automated machines for ticket service. It's not faster. Parking can get quite crazy as well. All in all a good theater and can't complain about a VIP option.

Samantha Liang

This theatre is well located in Coquitlam and convenient to get to. It has lots of movies showing and there is an arcade there too. The staff are very nice and helpful and it met your basic expectations of a theatre.

Best Vancouver

It was pretty good, went with my family and there was a problem outside but the staff took care of it. Some people knocked over displays then the movie was late but staff handled it best they could. Wish food was cheaper, lol, ok for one person but not a family. Lol. Oh well. Will be back .

Frances Cebalo

Christmas day and busy. Easy enough to book tickets online. Towards end of Star Wars movie seating a little uncomfortable from the seat springs.

Julia Clissold

Overpriced tickets, uncomfortable seats (even when you upgrade to the 'comfy seats', long lines for concession, stale overpriced popcorn, and the most disgusting bathrooms I have ever seen. It has gone really down hill in the last 10 years ☹️

Datis Mohsenipour

The bar/restaurant is kind of neat... but not worth the extra $$. The seats were cool until I discovered the reclining lazy-boy seats at Landmark cinemas (for the price of a regular movie ticket). Makes it very difficult for me to justify going to Cineplex anymore.

Another Mike

what's not to like about a movie theatre with large, spacious seating that restricts children and serves alcohol and food? not the best food or drinks, but decent enough... sometimes better than the movie! also, it's kinda funny ordering a manhattan and a bag of sour patch kids.

Ella W.

Good movie theater with good selection of movies. VIP movies were fun to do, as they have a bar. I wouldnt say it's worth doing VIP and paying for a more expensive ticket, when there are other theatres with more leg space. The food portions are pretty small at the bistro but they do taste good.

Jackie W

Love this movie theatre. Shows a wide variety of films including international ones. There's also arcade games to play while you wait and lots of food options. The theatres are big and the staff pretty efficient. I go there almost weekly for movie dates. Sometimes Fridays can be super hectic though and understaffed. All the ticket buying is via machines and watch out for overpriced VIP tickets that are double the regular price for cushier seats and alcohol service. Not worth $21 per person in my opinion. For better seats that recline go to Landmark Cinemas.

Aly B. (alykat)

The greatest thing about this theatre is that it has the VIP experience. You pay a little more but you get in seat service before your show, as well as lounge access before and after. You can drink in the theatres and they are 19+ so it is a calmer more quiet experience.

J W

Food in VIP was served COLD. One of the orders was chicken strips which were completely cold and eating one made me ill. We had a group of 8 and they missed 3 of our drinks. We repeatedly asked for them and they kept saying they’d check but after 30 mins of asking one of us had to go out to the counter to get them. After the movie my wife and her mother talked to a manager VERY politely but the manager was rude from the get-go and suggested they were over-reacting. Absolutely terrible experience and not worth the money. Stick to the popcorn. $170 wasted... never again.

Ian Prince

VIP is such a great idea! The one here has a great VIP section where you can sit and have a drink and a meal before the show. Just remember to order everything before the show starts - for obvious reasons, they don't take orders during the movie, as an unfortunate soul sitting next to me found out. Great for a date night :)

singularity

I love this theatre. The game's park in inside is open now to. Always have a great time.. DBox is incredible, popcorn ???? is expensive as everywhere else.

rajiv raj

Nice building everything looks new and fancy. However the seats are old, not reclining like other cineplex I have been too. The have a game Centre, which is under staffed took awhile to get some help for the arcade center. The games we expensive, you preload a card,$10 for 20 credits most games are 6-8 credits. The prizes are good for kids.

Yvonne Bowen

This theatre has spoiled me. Not only do I hate to go to other theatres, I pretty much will only see movies at VIP. It's a hefty price tag, but in my opinion it is worth it to not have teenagers chatting and giggling during the movie. The extra seat room and space, plus food service to your seat, is also a plus.

Ocean MacKay

My family and I went to see a matinee showing of Frozen 2 and they literally played 15 minutes of straight ads. Not even movie trailers, just regular ads you would see on TV. Those kind of ads run less than a minute, do you know how many ads you need to show to take up a full 15 minutes?? It honestly ruined the experience for me. I don't watch TV at all because I hate ads and this reminded me why I haven't been to the movie theatre in years.

Kaz Okuda

Went to the VIP theatre and it was mostly as expected, but the seats didn't recline. Disappointed that we pay so much for the privilege of paying a lot for food and seats that don't recline.

Masochistik Mal'ganis

VIP was a great experience. Large comfy seats, great food great service. But the price is pretty high for what you get.

Victoria Maslova

My favorite theatre of all Cineplex locations I've been to. It is very large with many huge auditoriums which are always clean for every showtime. The arcade is a big plus since it help pass the time if you're waiting for a ride or just want to enhance your overall entertainment experience.

sheri cormier

First time ever doing vip and no one told us how it all worked we kinda felt lost lol.. And it would be nice to put ur feet up.

Masochistik Mal'ganis

VIP was a great experience. Large comfy seats, great food great service. But the price is pretty high for what you get.

Melon

One of the bigger and nicer Cineplexs in the Lower Mainland. Came during COVID times so they didn’t do TimePlay before the movie was shown. ????

Emerson Willer

Nice staff! Large parking lot and facilities. Seats need renovation.

Kal Jak

It would have gotten 5 stars but the chairs were the old old VIP tiny reclining bus seats , not the luxury sofas other cineplex has in non VIP. Also the VIP burger patties and other food was premade institutional grade meat, it looked and tasted horrible. The only advantage is that you can drink. But not in the theater only in the lounge. It's very behind the times and stuck in the late 1990s

Jayant Chheda

Went for the new Bond Movie. Had trouble getting tickets on their website, otherwise experience was fine. Employees are helpful, but hard time trying to get anyone on their phone lines.

Noah Balcita

Arcade is always a good attraction and the location in general is located by some really good restaurants & places to visit prior. - Great Date Area There isn't really great seating options unless you spend $$$ compared to other options, but its an overall good time (y)

Mohammad Reza Mohseni

I suggest you get here early if you're driving not a lot of parking

Selah K

The VIP needs to be updated. The seats are old and don't recline like you can now get in any other regular theatre. The service could be better as well, they literally have forgotten something every time. And on Christmas Day the VIP bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and filthy.

Sonja Davis

Truly a great Cineplex location. I absolutely love the VIP theatre. It really makes going to the movie feel like a night out. Even if you don't visit the VIP theatre, all of your other options are great as well. There is a ton of selection with respect to the type of movie experience you want to have (i.e. VIP, AVX, D-Box, Regular, etc.) All of the newest movies are always shown, the theatres are clean, and the staff is very friendly.

Joe Ong

Went for a movie with my daughters. Chose Abominable. Movie was great. The theatre wasnt too busy. We had our popcorn and drinks. When we got to our seats, we found some seats were ripped up and in bad shape. We moved one row higher and it was better. I noticed tons of garbage in between the seats. Candy wrappers. Popcorn packaging etc.

Luke Weng

I've been going here for many years. I feel tempted to give a bad review because one of the staff was very rude to me and lied to me, turning my VIP ticket into a general admission. I won't do that though. I will do my best to do a unbiased review. Love the movies, and the atmosphere of he theatre. It's almost like Colossal Theatre back in Langley. The food is great and there's a huge arcade. However, the price is too outrageous. Studies have show that theatres have the biggest ripoff for food like popcorn and snacks. Then again, the theatres have much more space than others like Landmark and the Silvercity at Metrotown. I like Cineplex, but I don't think the prices are worth paying, especially since they raises the prices.

The VIP cinemas are great. Spacious and comfy seats. I'm 6 foot 3 and being able to stretch out the legs is nice. Great idea getting drinks and food brought right to your seat. **I must add. Reading comments that the seats didn't recline all the way back. The seats go back a little but not fully horizontal. If you want to lie down and watch a movie, may I suggest staying in bed.**** ***Also Jan 27/19 went to see Glass in the VIP. Good food and service as usual. Bonus marks to the staff that dealt with an extremely rude patron. He kept his cool, got the dude out of the theatre and obviously gave him the boot.***

Matthew Everingham

I've never experienced movies like this before. A truly amazing experience. All adults. No yelling kids. No one kicking the back of your chair. A bar before you get in and a waiter brings you drinks to your theater seat before the movie starts. I didn't even know this kind of thing existed. ????????

Glenn Celis

Always a perfect place to enjoy the Movie

Lissette Lemus

The venue is good, has the amenities needed, but I think because is way too popular that you feel rushed for everything. I like the variety of food and the big parking lot, is also walking distance to transit. I think for this venue they should have always someone posted at the bathroom cause they are super high traffic so the every hour cleaning doesn't do it.

Richard Teng

Great cinema. Enjoyable arcade section and plenty of theatre to show multiple selections of movies. One great thing about this cinema is the VIP section. Although the tickets are relatively expensive and it almost seems like it doesn't worth it for the same movie. The experience is very different and it is definitely worth it to give it a try. You can order food before the show and enjoy it at the lounge area, or order it before the show starts and enjoy it during the movie. The first option makes it a cool night out with friends family or S.O. The second options just makes the movie better. More than Comfortable seats with adjustable back makes it even better.

Leon Walkus

Lots of movies to choose from...our girls wanted to see boss baby 2 after brunch at ihop

Hailey Ratner

Saw Dumbo recently, I've always been a fan so I got the extra D-Box seats. I wouldn't really recommend them. They have three different levels of vibration but if you stand or shift in certain ways it will reset the chair back to the lowest level. The seats do tilt and move but they're not the most comfortable. I kept slipping off mine when it went forward and having my feet leave the ground going back. I think there's just a general lack of quality with Cineplex now the Landmark has upgraded their seating. The little eating area was just a disappointment. The tables rocked significantly and the stools were too stuck to the floor to scoot in on your own once you sat down.

Ikvinder Brar

I find that because it's in Coquitlam it can be a little bit busier than the smaller cities. The VIP experience is all right. The food is better than the regular experience but I don't know if it's worth the extra money. Landmark Cinemas has upgraded their seats and I find them to be more comfortable than these ones. The seats seemed kind of narrow. One good thing is if you are going to the VIP movie you can get your food later than the regular theater so if you are a night owl this does help.

Timtwoface (Timtwoface)

A bit out of the way but on the inside, a quality and spacious theatre, common under the Silvercity branding

Mabel Ho

Went to watch It: Chapter Two with my girlfriend. The size of the theatre was pretty impressive, probably comparable to the Langley Collosus Theatre. However, the seats in the VIP theaters pale in comparison to the Landmark reclining seats. Seats do not recline comfortably, and the material is squeaky and hard. Would only attend on days where admission is discounted.

On Saturday, May 14th my husband and I took 3 of our grandchildren to watch The Jungle Book in 3D. I purchased my tickets at the counter and my entire family heard me say The Jungle Book 3D...2 seniors and 3 children, ages 10, 9 and 7. We arrived very early and were able to secure great seats for the 5 of us. We sat through all the commercials, upcoming movies etc...and then the feature started. It was Captain Marvel! The attendant sold me the wrong tickets! We immediately rushed out with our popcorn and informed the clerks that we were sold the wrong tickets. They issued new tickets for a different theatre on the opposite side of the building. We raced to the correct theatre but we could not secure 5 seats together and against my better judgement my two granddaughters were forced to sit by themselves without our supervision. Their parents were appalled at hearing this news upon our return. We missed the beginning of the movie and when it was over we realized that my two granddaughters had left their jackets in the other theatre only to be told that they could not enter while the movie Marvel was in progress. This was a very expensive evening and after speaking to the manager he informed us the only thing to be done was to lodge a complaint. This is my complaint! The only reason we went to Silver City was because that is where my grandchildren reside. It was a very stressful evening! We should have waited to see the movie on TV at a later date or chose a theatre elsewhere.

Scott Betson

I like coming here for its VIP cinemas as they don’t have any kids screaming, and seeing a classic film that G, PG or PG 13 is great here at the VIP cinemas. The other one that is great is the D-BOX seating! That is some epic rumbling you get!

YAN YAN TSO

AMAZING SERVICE I almost lost count. How many times. I was said “thank you” to by staff. Let’s see???? When I got my ticket When I got my concession food When I asked for a lid for my cup the boy offered to grab me one from behind their counter. Thanked me Got in the VIP lounge the guy at the booth thanked me Got to my theater a guy was standing outside the doorways greeted me and thanked me as I entered to get my seat Took my seat side order thanked me each time I paid (I ordered some with points on one scene card) and some on a different card. Every time food or drink was brought to me. They thanked me and told me to enjoy my evening ???? And on my way out there was a boy at the door who thanked me and said good night ???? And on my way out of the vip area I was again thanked at the doorway ???? Wow. I’m so coming back here. Even though the commute was 35 mins ???? yes I have a closet non vip theater within 8 mins walk of my house Bathroom. Super clean. Bright. Stocked The floors. Immaculate at concession. Ticket line up was a tad disappointing one service booth open but 3 people assisting self serve machines ????. The line at ticket was 4.5 mins. Concession was 3 mins and the line didn’t move. So I switched lines and got my order before the guy in front of me in the original line. Not sure what was up with that Nope. No one asked if I wanted a combo (I used to work for cineplex. So tsk tsk tsk on that one????) but overall. Very very very good service. Service level of that of 5 star hotel. So good job.

Samuel C. Antoine

VIP rooms are awesome. Chairs are very comfy...lots of leg room and you can order food before the movie starts. Oh yeah...you got to be 19+.

Peter Paul

6:25 pm Sunday Nov 28. Megan was incredible helpful processing a refund from a diff cineplex location.

Robin Lindala

My wife and I went to a VIP movie. The movie itself was great. The restaurant experience was unacceptable. We ordered nachos and wine. The wine was ok. The Nachos were disgusting. Who puts corn on nachos? Also soggy and we paid 3$ for a tablespoon of guacamole. Like I said, unacceptable. We will continue to enjoy VIP movies. But we will no longer partake in the dining experience.

Kirsten

One of the employees stole my phone last night. I know it was an employee because my phone locator shows my phone being in the VIP section of the theater until 1:30am which is well past the time the last VIP movies ended. It had a full battery, at 90-something percent and whoever stole it turned it off, obviously to try to prevent me from locating it not realizing there are other ways to locate a SMART phone. I have also red flagged the serial number for the device to all the phone carriers and will be contacting Cineplex head office as well as every other resource to investigate into the theft of my phone. Aside from that the VIP service is TERRIBLE and it never gets any better. They used to have great service but it has gone so far downhill, Cineplex needs to review it's staff and upgrade to better employees because I really don't feel that Cineplex is a theatre worth going to anymore. I go to a movie once a week with my boyfriend and it's already expensive enough so the least I expect is decent service but it's not even mediocre, its the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you sit on any of the couches at the back they completely ignore you for a good half hour every time before they finally notice and bring a menu. I've never bothered to write a review but after having my phone stolen by someone who is actually employed at the theatre, I can't believe Cineplex has let their theatre become the way it has and that they don't pay attention to the work habits/ethic of their employees. And yet they wonder why the number of people coming to see movies in theatres has dropped so much... its really not difficult to figure out. If you give people a great experience that makes them want to come back, they will. When people come and have to pay around $100 for a movie and dinner, and not only is the food poor quality but the service is garbage of course people are going to look to the cheaper dating options that give a better experience.

One of the premiere cinemas in all of the lower mainland. Very reachable by highway 1 or Lougheed highway. Ample parking (free) and numerous theatres. Huge lineups are not a concern ever. The layout proves that their model works. Many cinema companies could learn a thing or two from this place. Never had a bad experience here. Always a great time.

Michael Prins

I love going to the movies. This particular cineplex is line ups everywhere; the system of checking tix right after purchase and before really “entering” the building creates a huge bottle-neck. And easy to cheat, could’ve easily slipped in at many other locations. Concession was fast, all things considered. Good selection of snacks and food too (standard cineplex). Underground parking is massive! But not easy to find, so everyone gets caught driving circles in the tiny above ground lot. And a huge play/arcade area - not my fav, so loud and kids are running around like its Chucky Cheese. Theatre seating was comfortable. Attendants wished me a good night while they patiently waited for us to leave so they could clean.

Akira Lee

Went to see the new Spiderman. Seats weren't cleaned and still had popcorn all over them. It was obvious no employee cleaned the theater after the last movie played. There was so social distancing between seats. The Seats are older style and don't recline so they are very uncomfortable

Review-it D

We used to enjoy an evening at the VIP cinema. When it first came out it was great, now it's run down, not kept up, VIP? Whatever, you can't buy the combos once inside, you have to leave the VIP area and go stand in line outside, buy it, then come back in, the seats are broken, ours the leg recliner was broken, we moved over and the power didn't even work at all in those seats, what VIP? It's a joke. The server was rude, ignored us then we had to track down another one to take the order, the drinks were either watered down or the barge denser completely forgot to put any liquor in it, the margerine machine was completely empty, we had to walk to the other side of the building to find one that had any margerine for the popcorn in it, the list goes on.... An absolute waste of money and the VIP is a JOKE. Update: Management reached out and offered a redo visit. Much better experience. Will try again and hopefully things continue to improve

Shaye

Regular theater is usually an okay experience and fun place to visit. Upper parking can be tough to find on busier nights, but normally underground parking is available. I go to VIP quite often, and I find the staff has finally improved. There was constantly missed orders and problems with the servers earlier in the last few years, which made VIP a frustrating experience for me. Tough to prepay on a tip and then not get what you ordered or have nothing delivered to you at all, and then have to leave a theater while the movie is playing and go get the order yourself. Opposite of VIP. Thankfully this year, so far, there has not been any issue, but unfortunately the food has not improved at all, and still remains subpar. There are about two to three items on the menu that are just okay to order and the rest is not good at all , so I would save your money for a much better restaurant experience . I also don't enjoy getting the older VIP auditorium with the much less comfortable chairs. Wish they would upgrade all, so you know you will always get the same VIP experience. Now that they have increased the scene points price for VIP, I don't see movies there anymore, and just do regular. This theater is great for kids to visit as well.

Medox 1

Very limited seats but everyone chooses the same row. It's not bad.

Joel Marte

My girl and I thoroughly enjoyed this cinema, ample seating and arcade fun even for adults! Big shout out to Mac - the food attendant who allowed us to keep our popcorn and snacks safe while we went a grabbed a drink from the vip lounge. He had great customer service and dealt with our annoying, but necessary request with a smile.

Sherif Elsonbaty

Well organized especially after the implementation of the new Covid vaccine status rules. Just get there a few mins earier than usual and you'll be fine.

Barbara Clendenning

This was the worst movie experience I have ever had. No social distancing as people where seated all around us and a person in front of us leaned back in his seat and it felt like his seat was in my lap. Also seats so small I hard trouble taking off my coat and almost hit person seated beside us. Shame on Cineplex for not social distancing seating during Covid and charging extra if you want at least normal seating in thier VIP seating theater. We are people that love seeing movies in the theater and but we will not be back.

Cory Gilbert

Went (today) during the day on a wednsday, not busy at all and got to concession and ordered our food and a hot dog. Got popcorn and drinks promptly but had to wait 10 mins for a hotdog not to be made fresh but to only be pulled out of warming drawer? All because the only till clerk there wasnt allowed to and had to wait for the "right" person to pull a premade hot dog out of a box. I know it was during the day and not as fully staffed but what could have taken seconds ended up taking far to long for the most mediocre 4 dollar hot dog.

Andreas Papaioannou

If you're going to spend the $50-$60 to go out and watch a movie anyway, you might as well spend the extra $20-30 and do VIP, it is a way better movie experience. Drinks, and dinner, and way better chairs with more leg room!

Kayla Clark

Great customer service. They gave us 4 refunds for the 2 plays we did on one of the machines that wasnt working. Was expecting only to get the 2 plays back. Very happy with the service. We even forgot that card when we left it with the attendant and he chased us down before we left without it.

__

It was a ghost town. We were two of six people in the entire concession and entrance entertainment areas. Thinking it was the spacing of movies to prevent Covid crowding we thought differently when there was only one other couple in the movie. The concession teller was very pleasant and accommodating and the movie sound and presentation were excellent as usual. Thus the 4 stars. Hollywood HAS to start putting out movies or there won't be any theatres to show them in

Randall Bath

I'm impressed every time I come to this theatre. Most of the time I book into the VIP, it's a pleasure the be in a nice clean quiet theatre where if you want you can have a drink and food far above the normal movie theatre fare.

Alexandra Galan

Not many complaints, good activities and amenities, just wish they kept all food and drinks available until a few minutes after the last showing. It's never fun going to a late night movie and not being able to frozen yogurt if that's what you wanna get.

Scott R

Service is always friendly here which is what gets this a 4-star, but the food in the VIP, for how very expensive it is, is always hit or miss. The problem seems to be that there aren't enough runners to meet the delivery demands, or the cooks are timing parts of the meal poorly. Half a plate often shows up cold (especially fries), and the other half may be between warm and hot. When the whole plate is cold, it's probably runners, when half the plate is cold it's probably the cooks. Management should staff the VIP a bit better for how much the experience costs or I might as well spend less and get hot food from the concession.

Fernanda Gomez

My favorite cinemas, I just don't like that the washrooms are far away from each other

Mike Jahn

Don't sit in far left corner, the whole movie there was either warm air or cold air blowing on us. They shouldn't have seats there if that's a normal thing it was very uncomfortable.

Taz Bates

Same big screen experience, sit back and enjoy a great movie, and try not to complain about the over priced pop and popcorn

Leo Sieczka

This theater has nice clean seats, big screens, and the arcade area is pretty modern. I was able to burn up a couple of hours here on different arcade games and my daughter had a great time. I would say that the DDR machine is too quiet, as I got my butt kicked pretty hard. Otherwise, cool layout and as good as expected.

Christina Rutter

Increases in ticket prices and expenditures on high price junk food, make this outing very unrealistic. If you want to enjoy a movie wait until you can use your own theater surround sound at home Cheaper and you can even be naked????

Philip Edwards

Love this location. in addition to the regular theaters, it has VIP cinemas. These are really great for a classy night out at the movies. Lots of ticket machines so flow through is fast. Numerous food choices. Gaming area Something for everyone!

Canadian Patriot

Love the VIP treatment. Rather expensive though if you go for dinner expect to drop $100 per visit.

K W

Every time you go you know what you’re in for. The experience is generally always good and the theatre is clean for the most part but the food is overpriced and bathrooms seem to never be serviced (even when you go to the last showings)

ACSW Chang

The movie experience was not there at SilverCity (This is for the non-VIP experience). The audio and the video quality was lacking. One bright spot was the seats were slightly reclineable. The food was expensive for a simple chicken wrap. Poutine was alright but again, it was over priced. Unless I wanted to watch a first run movie, there is no point of watching a movie at the theatre as the experience at home is better.

Kaidis B

Great theatre. Enormous screens, great sound system and typical movie theatre snacks. A little pricey for food but there are several restaurants close by if you want to eat dinner. Otherwise you get what you would expect in dinner from a movie theatre. Expecting to get a gourmet dining experience? Go to Gordon Ramsay Steak. VIP isn't really worth the money unless you want to drink alcohol in the theatre.

Rapinder C

VIP Experience cost over $130 for 2 ... food was delivered to our table 10 min before the movie started even though we were there an hour before ... the VIP area washrooms were filthy ... it seemed like no one had cleaned them in days. Not an enjoyable experience at Coquitlam ... would not recommend it.

hongyu lu

I bought two VIP tickets, but the staff at the gate of the VIP didn't allow me to go in and asked me to show my ID. Excuse me, I just want to watch a movie comfortably. Who will take the id with him at any time and any place? Why would I buy a VIP screening if I wasn't 19? The point is, I watched other people go in without checking ID, and I asked the staff why, and they said because they looked over 19, but I didn't look like 19. Besides, asians are stopped at the gate to check ID. Isn't it discrimination? The three staff members at the VIP entrance seem to have something wrong with their minds and are very rigid. I just want to see avengers 4, but because these three people completely affect my mood, I will never come to this cinema again.

Reggie Prasad

This theatre needs a renovation. Seating is old school. Won't be coming back here again.

Lisa Hotomanie

First time at this theatre. Good assortment of arcade games, lots of theatres, food, VIP Lounge and ample free parking: underground and ground level. And if you want real butter on your popcorn, it costs a dollar more.

geoff da silva

Had dbox seats for a movie and my seat was broken but the manager made it all good by giving me comp tickets when all I wanted was a discount

James Greenhalgh

Had a fun time at the VIP theatre. Was nice to able to sit in the lounge and order a bit of food and some drinks (though it is expensive, so best for a special movie). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lounge was fairly comfortable but could do with better cleaning. The VIP movie theatre had comfortable chairs and I liked the little tables and extra drink holders. The movie experience was otherwise typical. The general theatre has a decent arcade, a Poptopia, and I was excited to see the frozen yogurt bar (like Menchie's).

Artur Szylowski

Went to see Chung-chi today with my family and although staff checked the COVID passports and ID at the door like they were supposed, inside the theater was a different story. There was no distancing inside the theater and no staff checking the seating placement although people had assigned seats. Everyone bunched up in the middle of the seating area and distancing was non existent. “Very disappointed”. This fact alone turned my family and I from going to the theaters again in the foreseeable future.

Mary Durocher

It was great. Very good customer service

Thomas Tricarico

Covid compliant and watched No Time To Die....great flic...

Jordan Lewis

VIP servers didn't start taking orders until 4 minutes before the movie started ????????

David Chung

It's currently the only VIP site in the Lower Mainland. The more comfortable seating and smaller venue is nicer. But even the promise of an older audience doesn't stop morons from kicking your chair.

Michelle O'Neil

I like this place but it is the most expensive movie theater I have ever been too. It is only ever moderately clean and can be a bit smelly. I would rather go to the Pitt 3 theater. Movies don't have to be so expensive, especially when we can watch them for free online these days. And popcorn is outrageous. It's literally one of the cheapest snacks out there and I paid over $30 for a few snacks last time.

Dave Robinson

VIP theaters are great. Clean and can order from your seats. Very strict on covid distracting and cleaning which was appreciated. Very clean theater.

Ross Porter

Huge theater with a lot of movie selections. The food was really good. The seats are comfortable and the sound quality was great in the movie. My only complaint is that parking was a hassle.

Lance

One of the better Cineplex theatres in the Lower Mainland. Always lots of movie options, they have an extensive underground lot so parking isn't really an issue, and this location has one of the VIP seating areas - you can go on Wednesdays for $50, which gives you dinner and a movie for two people. Overall, this is one of the better Cineplex venues I've been to. More recent times I've gone, I've noticed that who I assume to be the manager stands near the exit thanking everyone for coming. That is a super classy gesture which I really appreciate, and it honestly makes me want to go back.

Gina Grape

First time to watch movie at the theater since pandemic hits. King's Man at cineplex was a good experience. Staff checking everyone for covid vaccine and id at the entrance is nice.

Cat

We watched Venom yesterday, and it was so blurry. They didn't fix it until we complained about it. We wasted our precious time. My friends and I are the next level. #AESPA. Plz don't let us waste our PRECIOUS time next time. @ the ring of the lords. # MY PRECIOUS

Eileen Bishop

Was great haven't been for literally years

Naresh Mistry

I'm giving it a 3 stars only because when we went in they had some ads playing ad and it was through a PC. How sad is that. You can actually see the revolving windows wait symbol while it was closing down.not only that there was no sound. The movie was scheduled was 4:30 they didn't start till about 5 minutes after then it was the same ads as before and after all that the pre view started. I've been to landmark and it's much better. I presume the vip is much better. Maybe they want you to go to the vip rather than a regular theatre. Not sure if I'll be going to this Cineplex. May try another one but it'll be some time

Evyn S

enjoyed the experience with family. went in the afternoon just as theatre was opening up and it was good before the lineups for food started. Staff were friendly and efficient. They had advertised food items at outtakes and there were limitations due to time of day that weren't clear. Washrooms are well, below average cleanliness. Decent above ground and below ground parking lot.

Brad

Movie theater is great itself, no problem there. This one star review is ONLY for the arcade. My girlfriend won the hair on one of the games and it was for over 2500 tickets. It was started counting down on the jackpot screen while counting up on the card swiper. We didn't think we had to wait until it was all done so we went to check our balance which should have been about 3000. We noticed it was only 1400 so we asked the attendant and he said we had to wait until the jackpot had counted down for the full total to be on the card. We went back to the machine and noticed the jackpot was almost done and that we were missing most of the tickets that was on the jackpot. We looked again better and noticed that the jackpot was going down 2-3 tickets for every 1! that was being added to the card!! We told the attendant and he fixed it and said he would "let the technician know". I very much think this is done on purpose because most people don't sit there fit 15+ minutes waiting for it all to count down so they rip you off on the amount not thinking you'll notice!

Brent Villett

Great way to see a movie. Order your food and drinks right from your seat and enjoy a drink after the show

Monica Tomlinson

This was my first time going to a VIP movie. I was excited to try the menu and enjoy the show. I guessed that the prices would be quite high, but hoped that the food would be ok. I ordered a chicken fajita bowl. I expected something related to a chicken fajita. Rather, I got a bowl of browning iceberg lettuce, smothered in caesar dressing, a lump of canned black olives, a half cup of sour cream, and some completely unseasoned (very cold) highly processed chicken. It was ice cold and completely inedible. Honestly, I had one bite and actually spat it out. I can tolerate some pretty disappointing meals, but this one really couldn't be consumed. Since you are given the food right as the movie starts (and have to pay for it when you order - right as it's too dark to even see what you're getting), there's no opportunity to send it back. By the end of the movie, I didn't want to make a big stink. This was truly the most horrendous meal that I've had at any establishment. Oh, and it was $17. I was so upset by the shockingly disgusting food that it ruined my entire experience. I can't believe they served this to anyone. Not only will I NEVER go back to VIP, I will NEVER go back to this movie theatre again. I couldn't believe how disgusting it was. I should have complained to a manager...but two hours later just seemed like it wasn't worth it. BEWARE OF VIP FOOD!

Mark Lui

Odd Cineplex, the parking lot has an odd layout, the theaters seems to be a bit old looking on the inside. The vip area takes up so much space, the concession stand takes forever despite having so many open registers. They should just closeb the vip to make more room for the concession. Metrotown definitely trumps this place

JJ Yuless

VIP theatre is equipped with a big screen and awesome sound system. But their VIP washrooms are disgustingly gross.

Silvana Issighos

New protocols are great, runs very smoothly. The only issue I have is the use of the access card. You can't buy your tickets in advance.

Ron Larson

VIP seating is the best way to watch a movie

Elizabeth Perry

Had to watch 13 minutes of ads (not previews for movies--ads for cars, insurance etc) before previews started for a movie I paid $14 to see. Not cool. Why is the price so high if the theatre is also making money off of wasting my time with all these ads? I like the previews for other movies. Ads for other things are not cool.

S D

Very busy location Parking is not an issue (underground parking) Staff need more training handling customer As everyone else said it specially the one at the food & beverage counter. VIP-lounge on the other hand has more quality and great staff working.

Thomas Perry

We had some old gift cards so we decided to do the vip thing, still super expensive, and food quality was quite poor, server did not have much knowledge about menu etc. Glad we used up the gift cards so we can take our movie experience back to landmark cinemas.

James

My Son and I saw James Bond....Loved it. James is gone but 007 will live on. Live and Let Die was my first Bond Movie ????.

Larry Hunkin

Vip is great. Nice theatre

Grant Smith

We have long been fans of VIP cinemas, but the seats have been "upgraded" and the changes are bad. Now one cup holder for two people??? The height and nature of recline suck. I get that they were trying to improve, but maybe the should have checked out landmark cinemas who are doing a better job.

Allan Campbell

If you're a 19+ movie goer and haven't gone to VIP. Do it!

H A

We went to Cineplex only because we had free tickets. Compare to Landmark, the chairs are much smaller and don't recline, and leg spaces are much smaller. I'm small but felt uncomfortably close to a stranger next to me for 2 hours. Concessions only have popcorn, hotdogs, candies, chips... there is no food unless you pay a lot more for VIP. Experience at Landmark was 10 times better for the same price you pay.

Elizabeth Salvosa

It would be nice if they would add breaded or not for their VIP menu. It makes it hard to order for people with food restrictions. We had to return the food that we ordered and ended up not having anything for the movie. Their wings were breaded.

Shannon Drummond

So quiet there, only 8 people in the theater, kids d of nice - felt good to be back in the theater. Saw Broken Hearts Gallery - very cute and funny !

Tara

My favourite theater. I really like the VIP area and being able to order my snacks from a server vs. waiting in line. Would be nice to see more vegan options for food!

Rod B

Everyone is spread out further VIP experience. Your drinks and food still come to your chair. Fantastic ????

Daniel Lee

I used to visit location a lot in the past but the facility is getting a bit old and I think they need to do some renovations along with overall quality improvement, if they want to compete with those newly built cinemas with a brand new equipment.

Ding-Yi WANG

Calling the seats in VIP theatres uncomfortable would be an understatement. They’re in fact the worst ever.

Devlyn Winchester

Good for going to the movies. Definitely arrive early parking is always terrible and a zoo up top, go underneath. The VIP (at least front row) seats are getting pretty worn but still the reason I come here.

Julian Pereira

Parking is good. Wish they would have more ticket cashiers. Hate those machines. They play way to many 3d movies. Food is too expensive. Video games too expensive. Drinks too expensive. Location is good.

Paul Harling

It's okay. Underground parking is poorly designed. I don't think it's possible to get into the theater without getting rained on. Signage is poor. The stairwell we found was dirty and the top concrete step is badly damaged and unsafe. We tried to get back in the same way after the show but found them locked. Rather than walk a significant distance to the pedestrian entrance at the opposite end of the parkade to where we parked, we ended up walking down the car ramp. I couldn't find the car exit, signage is very poor and confusing. VIP bathrooms are very nice, also the obvious solution to the transgender dilemma. There are plenty of staff working in the VIP lounge, but they are all young and inexperienced. Drinks were very slow and mediocre for the price. I wouldn't go out of my way to arrive early to spend money in the lounge on purpose. If it was my business I would get rid of half the staff and pay the higher wages to get upscale restaurant servers. The productivity and sales will be better. Get a proper bar tender. The lighting in the VIP lounge isn't right either. They missed the mark on the atmosphere, it's like a lounge at the airport.

Jeremy Freeman

This used to be my favorite place to see a movie in the lower mainland. However, since they changed their VIP seats, I find them completely uncomfortable to sit in. Landmark in Guildford (10 minutes away), has full reclining seats that are massively more comfortable and the ticket price is half of Cineplex VIP.

Hanna Ali

Good food but their VIP lounge food & bar closes too early. They need to extend the timings. & please get those recliner seats already, their seats suck. Even the VIP ones. They also need to bring those self serve soda fountains like Landmark Theatre at Guildford mall does.

George Kennedy

Why is there no designated Handicapped entry door to front entrance of the theatre complex? No button to push to make it easy for a wheelchair customer to enter. Also, VIP was excellent until about 6 months ago. Now getting run down. Walking past the food serving area near the VIP theatres, there is litter and garbage all over the floor. Food servers are poorly trained to the extent you are better to go outside and buy food in the lobby and bring it back. VIP washrooms smell like urine and the floors are sticky with urine.

Lance Macaskill

Probably one of my favorite cinaplex's. The selection of arcade games are amazing. Having the option to do the VIP movies to avoid the kidlets for those super hero movies (avengers endgame for example) was outstanding. All around good place with friendly service.

Cathy Campbell

Terrible. I come in with a coupon I bought at Costco. I'm seeing what I think is a standard movie so my 2 for 1 coupon I bought for 29.00 ends up adding on 12 more because there was enhanced sound. I don't mind paying extra if I know but the weds it said it was a standard movie....then she said no scene points allowed with the Costco coupon which they normally take. And I paid for an extra person and the extra fees....what an annoying experience and there are no managers around according to the girl who helped me and they have no power to make adjustments..I felt ripped off.

B B

I like this cinema as it's 10 minutes from where I live. Very disappointed! Unfortunately last night my wife and I paid $20 for two mediums bags of popcorn...we paid extra for layered butter, The POPCORN WAS DRY AND BURNT, obviously not fresh and barely any butter on it ? Why charge extra for layered butter ? If your staff isn't filling order properly ? This is the second time the popcorn has been terrible that is why I'm leaving this negative review, I figured it was a one off and gave them the benefit of the doubt. If your going to continue to charge outrageous prices please make sure the popcorn is fresh and put butter on the popcorn.

Brian Benton

Yeah pretty good. Starting to be out dated as other theatres have much nicer seating.

Andrew Childs

Good theatre. VIP was fun and the food was great. Had a classic burger with fries and was good. Prices for food and drinks were very fair. Around $50 for 2 meals and 2 drinks.

Evan Moore

Be aware that not all VIP theatres are the same. We have been to two VIP movies over the last two months. The first was F9. The seats were awesome, reclined, lots of space and we had a chance to have a beer and feel like "family". Overall 5/5 experience. The second was the new James Bond film yesterday. The VIP theatre this was in had torn seats that rested on a sort of idler system that when you shifted around squeaked enough to be distracting if your neighbor was moving around. It almost feels like this theatre was the hand-me-down of the other we visited. Except it was in the same place and the same advertised VIP experience. As a party of two our bill was the same both times. Movie + Snack + 2 drinks $100, but the viewing experience was totally different.

Ramon Kasiri

Don’t watch Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City. Worst movie in a long time. Went to get a refund/voucher but manager said I had to leave before the 40 minute mark of the movie. I had no idea. At least a voucher would have appeased the suffering I had to endure but the manager wasn’t too kind or generous in that situation.

cory taylor

Friendly staff. Getting to the VIP theatres is a little confusing as there wasn't very good signage but the VIP theatres here are awesome. I'll never go to the regular theatre again

Melody

$25 per person. Alcohol and food served at seats. Seats do not recline ☹ theater was warm and clean, No children in VIP ???? bathrooms 6/10 plenty of parking above and below ground.

Michael Hooks

Much smaller than the Abbotsford VIP and it was so crowded that we couldn't even have a drink in the lounge prior to the movie. The in theater service was great though and food was yummy.

raymond cells

VERY RUDE STAFF WHEN I WENT THERE TO WATCH A MOVIE PRE-COVID I ASKED FOR A COLLECTOR'S CUP FOR SPIDER MAN FAR FROM HOME I SAID WHEN I WENT TO ORDER " hi can I have one large popcorn and a collector's cup" and the crazy lady at the counter SCREAMED "WE DON"T HAVE ANY COLLECTOR'S CUPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" so I said okay but when I was finished watching the movie I see about 12 kids and adults have collector's cups and I asked one of them how did you get it and he pointed to ms.YELLS A LOT so again I asked do you have any and she AGAIN SCREAMED "NO NO NO WE DON'T HAVE ANY I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" AND STORMED OFF very rude staff member not fit for a cashier more fit for a WARDEN OR A BOSSY LADY THAT BOSSES PEOPLE AROUND she is a VERY LAZY WOMAN AND SHOULD BE FIRED

Aaron Hufsmith

Great location with twenty theatres... Even the smaller theatres have stadium seating making it a great place for kids. Lots of food choices as well for any snacks you may want. The twenty theatres allow for lots of showings and movies that are shown long after release date. And at $7.19 on Tuesdays it's a great deal!

alex howard

Great movie and food as always but my one big complaint was that people were sitting way to close to each other, if u want 6 feet between you and another person don't go.

Dave Lawrence

This is really for the VIP theatre. It’s is sooooo nice to go to a movie and not have to listen to teenagers swear and kick seats, talk on their phone, etc. Seats are much more comfortable and food is quite a bit better. However, it does cost twice what a regular movie theatre seat costs. That said, well worth it on a Friday or Saturday night for a fun time out with the wife.

david piraquive

I tried the vip experience and wow it was so worth it highly recommend it

Jeff W.

The ticket machines now easily accept movie vouchers, which allowed us to arrive just in time for the movie to start. The theater was clean, and the seats comfy (and they also recline). Sound quality was great and so was the movie.

Bree-Anna Weir

Love having the VIP and not having to constantly be interrupted by people bringing their little kids to late night showings of non-kid friendly films like I've had almost every time at every other theatre we've tried. Worth paying the extra cash for the comfy chairs and substantial reduction in disruptions. If we're going to spend the money to see it in a theatre we always go here now. Parking is a disaster at this location though - recommend leaving lots of extra time to find a spot. Biggest complaint: Too many movies in VIP are only offered in 3D which most people I go out to the movies with are finding of to low quality still - thus it's very hard on the eyes and triggers lots of migraine/headache/vertigo-like disorders. We often miss out on seeing things in theatre waiting for an acceptable time slot to open up for a non-3D showing. We are always disappointed that we usually have to wait weeks for it to offer a decent selection of showtime for non-3D so we rarely get a chance to go opening week, by which point we've missed out on a lot of the fan culture we'd like to be able to participate in, in order to avoid spoilers.

Alix Maguire

Awesome experience, staff were super friendly and went out of our way to help my girlfriend and I!

Sandra F

Got to go to the lounge before the Lion King movie started and ordered Buffalo Cauliflower and a drink. It was good. Went into the special seats and had ordered a blue cheese burger and fries which was sooo good. The bun was warm and soft and the patty was cooked juicy and tasty. Only complaint was it was hard seeing what I was eating in some part of movie as I couldnt see my food. It was too dark. Other than that I loved it and would now do it all the time as the seats are so comfy!

Jacob M

My girlfriend and I went to the theater last week to watch The Candyman. We bought the tickets online so we didn’t have to wait in line. We purchased VIP tickets and were quickly told where our movie would be. Before entering room 5, this gentleman by the name of Jason greeted us and asked if we wanted any drinks, food, etc. He was seriously THE BEST at recommending which foods and drinks we would like. Before coming to watch the movie, we had a disappointing dinner but honestly, our night was made by Jason. All the employees were nice but Jason made our night and also made us cineplex customers for life. If the employers are reading this, please think about giving Jason a raise, he definitely deserves it! The food and drinks were great. 10/10 will definitely be coming here again!

aldemar infante torres

Very nice venue, with multiple rooms and very big screens.

Matthew Reber

Bought tickets to the vip. I've been to vip theatres before and they had reclining seats and booths for couples and those were a good experience. This theatre was not. The seats didnt recline and they're cramped shoulder to shoulder. The ones in Calgary had seat warmers. These one just rocked a little. It's like they tried to convert a tiny theatre into VIP and scammed everyone in here with a fake brand name. Wasted so much money when I should have just gone to landmark and paid basic prices for a better experience.

Kareyna M

Box office was a little slow, but understandable with one cast member having to card many people for VIP shows. Very clean cinema none the less, and VIP staff were very friendly and courteous!

Suv S

All the other VIP locations have reclining seats, this location did not and it completely took away from the VIP experience. The price of the ticket should be lowered if customers aren’t getting what they’re paying for. The food as well was awful, the truffle fries I ordered were over cooked and hard. I will never be coming to Coquitlam’s Cineplex again.

Harvinder Singh

Pathetic seating, too compact. Not enough space to even walk in the aisle. Surrey one is so better. They have recliner seats for all. I paid same price here and that got me pathetic seats. Never coming back here.

Elisa Cardona

I've come to this place quite a few times and have always enjoyed the service. But yesterday was not the best experience. I finally had the opportunity to have one on one date with my son and after the movie we decided to get a poutine; he wanted the one with bacon but when we got it, it had back bacon on it. When i went to inquire about it I was told that's the one it vomes with unless you're VIP. The manager was pleasant enough to get it redone with real bacon (but to not expect this next time) which was appreciated by my son and I and will definitely never purchase it again (the remake still had frozen fries too but was done dealing with your staff and wanted to focus on my son) The kicker tho and this is why I am giving 2 stars, it's because one of your employees said that bacon and back bacon come from the same animal, as this is true, these are completely different flavours, texture and comes from a different part of the pig; his comment was uncalled for. To avoid confusion please change your menu to say back bacon or simply put the real bacon on it.

Alyssa Rios

Unless you go for the vip experience this place is way over priced for its Dingyness. Seats uncomfortable and cracked. The arcade is a joke. Do yourself a favor, go to landmark cinema watch your movie comfortably, and then just drive to langely and go to chuck e cheese. Likely same amount of money and far better experience. 2 stars only because the employees were friendly

R A

Impressed with the lines to show vaccine status and then to show your tickets. Very simple.

Vanessa Marie

I love coming here for the VIP theatre. I used to go to Vancouver, but that’s much too far from Maple Ridge. The theatre is super clean, staff is quite knowledgeable and it’s just a good experience every time my husband and I come here. (Which is quite frequently)

Junnior Caceres

Vib lounge is cool. A bit overpriced tho. The seats inside the theater are comfy. However, they feel old.

Melissa Silverhorn

Overall experience was mediocre. Was in the VIP theatre and ordered food at the same time as the two people I was with. After 10 minutes of them getting their food and me receiving just my drink my friend mentioned it to the server passing by. The manager came in and started to claim that I never paid for the food and that I would need to prove my purchase. She was being quite rude about it. This was all happening during the movie, so we were missing the movie while trying to figure it out. She said she would have to go double check the ordering screen. 5 minutes later my food miraculously came, and the exact way I ordered it... Except it was cold. So I am only assuming it was sitting on the counter for 15 minutes while the manager was arguing with whether or not I paid. After spending $25 for a dish of food and a drink you would expect to have better service than being questioned about actually purchasing an item. She didn't come back and bring the food or apologize for the delay and mis-understanding. Hopefully this was just a one off, as I quite enjoy going to this theatre and it's the closest one to my house. Thankfully the movie was amazing, the theatres were clean, and all the other staff were very polite and well manored. They are the only reason for the second star. The manager is the reason why they lost 3 stars.

Jorge Villa

if i could give it a Zero i would do it as it was a very dirty cinema and VIP restaurant service was TERRIBLE. Took over 20 mins to place the order as our waitress was very busy. and 30 mins after ordering i asked them where was our food and they told us the kitchen was behind which i understood as i worked in the industry for many years; however we should ve been warned before placing our order that they were behind amd food was going to take that long . So our overall "VIP" experience was horrific so decided to cancel our order and went outside to buy a burger and the young kids who were serving were completely out of focus and very upset at each other and was able to hear them cursing at each other as they seemed to be short on staff and very stressed runni g around getting orders. my 2 hotdogs took over 15mins to be ready and by the time i went to my seat, the movie had already started definitely im not coming here ever again .

Ashley

We did Spider-Man VIP and normally we love it! But this time they had like 0 menu options, they didn't have sooooo many things it was odd. But what really made me mad was this manager (I think) named Adam G (pretty sure saw name on my way out) came out of nowhere (in a dirty food cocvered Apron I might add) to tell the servers they were running out of chicken strips and he was SO RUDE to the one server, like terrible! Scolded him for having his hat backwards? Wich by the way looked fine? But if it's not company policy or something then pull him aside quietly don't treat him like a dog in front of customers. My husband litterally had to stop me from saying something cause he wanted to see spidermand so bad lol. Like dude your in a dirty apron that's gross.

Roy Wang

Make sure you purchase water at the concession stand, before you enter the theater. Because I tried to order a bottle of water while inside of the VIP movie theater, after waiting for 15 mins and movie was about to start I decided to go out to the employee area to remind them that I haven't received my bottle of water yet. A supervisor was present at the time, she wrote down my information and told me someone will bring me the water. I went back to my seat, another 10 mins passed, no water was brought to me. So I had to go back out and ask for refund. They made me feel like I was Very Impatient Person (V.I.P) since I was not patient enough to wait over 20 mins for a bottle of water.

Momma Bezz

The movie was great, seats kinda sucked, and the food/drinks were way over priced. I guess this is why people stay home and stream or Netflix. It was my first time in VIP don't believe the hype

Breanna Wicker

I went to go watch the new spider-man movie and the entire theater was packed full. We're literally in a pandemic why is the theater at FULL CAPACITY? This is not safe and very irresponsible. Not happy and this should be changed. This cineplex branch should be looked at with health and saftey concerns and/or shut down until they can play movies responsibly.

Sandra Elliott

Great quality pictures, sound and seats! Very clean & friendly service. Sad they are pushing self-help lines which take away jobs. However, they have created jobs by upping their VIP service with loads of options for the customers ie, in seat order/dining.

Mike Murphy

The movie theatre was well run and organized for covid regulations. Felt safe and relaxed in the theatre. Great job by the staff at silvercity Coquitlam.

Mountain Mom

Plenty of parking, small arcade area for kids, and overall convenient location. One star off because: - no family washrooms - seats are a little bit outdated, and sometimes the floors are real sticky.

jesse cusmano

I think the seats are pretty good but could be better

Jacqueline Wong

I forgot my purse hanging on the theatre seat tonight. Luckily, the staff was kind enough to lock it away until I was able to come back for it. :) No snide remarks were made, all the staff genuinely empathized with my anxiousness. Not a single thing was missing, lucky again for me the staff got to it before anyone else!

Kennis Jehangir

Love the VIP seating. Very comfy but also very loud. Make sure to seat in the back rows. Need to put some tissue in my ears during the movie.

Gregg Winter

We did the VIP experience. First we had some dinner in the lounge, then made our way to the theatre to watch The Last Jedi. Very comfortable seating arrangements.

Jose Lazaro

Watched Shang-Chi with the sibs and was so worth it! Nice being back with the crowds to watch a blockbuster

Kevin G.

The movie was great and entering the theater was good but that is where it ended. First thing the theater was a mess, you could see a large pile of popcorn on the floor at the bottom of the theater it looked like it was all swept to the bottom floor for the past week. The floor at the seats were so sticky your feet would stick to the floor so every time you moved you would have to unstick your feet . Then the screen had a mark, dirt or hole in it that was distracting (theater 18) on the top right third. It became very distracting every time there was a scene that had a face or light background. So Disappointed.

Robert Hutcheon

Food in the VIP lounge was standard pub style fare but quite good. Seating was comfortable in the theatre but could do with better footrests.

Daniel Bradley

The VIP section pretty nice but a lot of the food leaves something to be desired. Nice being able to have a beer while you watch your movie though.

JKB

Good location, lots of parking (underground, on the same lot and across the street), close to good restaurants. Employees that are dealing with the food need Food Safe Training. We were there last night. The gentleman that was preparing my tea lost the tag for the teabag (it fell into the cup full of hot water). He dipped his hand into the tea to grab the tag and then handed me my tea. I was so disgusted by this. I asked for another tea and man-handled the teabag before making it. I don't know where those hands have been. UGH! Gross!!

Re Lopes

Easy to access by car with free parking. Good options of entertainment and snacks before movie. Large lobby and enough cashiers to make the lines fast. Movie theater was good for seats, cleaning, sounds and projections.

vitesh patel

Didn't watch any movie. Just had great fun time with kids in playing zone(gaming area)

Faheemul Huq

We like it very much. Seat are very comfortable. We are looking forward for your next visit.

Harkrit Singh

Not the cleanest or nicest cinema I’ve been too but still not bad , seats are not good at all or might have been my luck ... definitely needs some upgrades and catching up with other cinemas in the next few years or people will prefer other places ... staff was nice though

Janet Huggins

Over priced, not worth the money. Go to Landmark where the all the chairs fully recline and you don't pay extra for them. The service to your seat only happens before the show. Save your money, go to a nice restaurant before and go to Landmark for the movie!

M T

This theatre is enormous with many large movie screens. Moreover, it has arcade games and a decent selection of food. At the VIP lounge, it is quite a nice bar that serves alcohols to the adults. I love the movie seats which are very roomy and comfortable. The food is delicious but bit pricey. Also, the service is slow, probably understaffed, but friendly staff. Although the parking lot is huge, it is busy and cramped.

Shelly Miller

Went to see Belfast and very clean theater and the host helped me off my chair as I broke my hand

Adam Gritt

Went to the VIP showing as it was at a better time, the tickets are quite pricey, $26, but you can use 2000 SCENE points instead. The table service food to the VIP is more expensive than the regular food even though you already paid double for the ticket.

Cady Harris

The staff there are always friendly! Although the prices for the movie tickets and popcorn is over priced, where is it not! I enjoy coming to this movie theatre. The shows are mostly always on time.

Wanda McTavish

Great to watch a movie in the vip room!!!????

Gavin Wilson

Was there last night for the so called "VIP" which consisted for a trail of walked on garbage from the entrance to the movie theater. The washroom was covered in piss and the garbage was overflowing in the VIP washroom. I ordered a drink which took about 40mins to arrive and the gourmet popcorn was stale, definitely not the VIP experience I was paying for....

Ronald Retandy

Always amazing experience at their VIP theater!

Rob Fraser

They have so many different prices for the same movie... depending on what kind of theater it's shown in. Very poor at letting the inexperienced movie goer what's what. Show up for a 1:30 showing and... that'll be an extra $3 apiece as it's showing in a theater that supposedly has a larger screen and better sound system. You don't want to pay the extra? You'll have to wait for the 3:45 showing. Grudgingly pay the extra money and there's 12 other suckers in the whole theater!!!

Ben B

Nice theater lots of underground parking if your vehicle isn't too lifted. I have a jeep with a 3.5" lift and just barely fit. Rarely parking available above ground.

Karolina Forrest

I drive an SUV with a Thule roof rack.....nothing crazy just extra space for camping or skiing gear. My SUV is not lifted or modified for vanity just equiped for a healthy lifestyle. Almost all the parking at this theater is height restricted 95-97 percent) even though it is above ground. The few spots that are available are not reserved for overheight vehicles but instead parked up with regular passenger cars like civics and golfs. Only parking left is in the loading Bay. Only one entrance to it and many signs deterring parking. Solution is simple let's celebrate diversity and accessibility and either maintain over-height parking for over height vehicles only or remove the height restriction bars on the above ground lots as it is absolutely pointless.

Ryan Santos

VIP lounge is an excellent experience. It's ultimately dinner, drinks, and a movie all in 1 place. Only complaint is you can't use scene points in the restaurant lounge.

Hina chaudhry

SilverCity Coquitlam is nice and spacious. The VIP theatres are here as well. ID is required to enter the VIP section, since liquor is served here and can be consumed which watching movie as well (in the VIP cinemas of course). My experience here has always been good. I always order from my seats and have the food brought over to me. Last night when I ordered Nachos. I was disappointed since there was zero next to no cheese as well. They were not even hot. The only toppings were two handful of corn and lots of avocado. Nachos there have never been like this. They'd always have veggies on them, but last night was an exception. Obv I didn't eat them. After the movie, I took them to the VIP lounge and a manager came over and gave me my refund. Service = Excellent Of course it's Pricey Tip: Ask for 3-5 napkins since they only bring one napkin thinking its sufficient. Would I go here again? Absolutely. But just strictly tell them how you want your food to be. Same goes for chicken strips and fries (they tend to make errors in that area too and put BBQ sauce over the chicken when you clearly tell them on the side).
