I frequent this movie theater and have never had an unpleasant experience. It is in close proximity to a wide variety of dine-in restaurants. The centrum also has mini putt and indoor skydiving for those seeking other forms of entertainment. Landmark Cinema theatres have been renovated to include button controlled reclining chairs. Their chairs are more comfortable than the similar chairs found in Cineplex theaters.

This was our first time back at the theater in a year and a half and it sure felt good! Lots of social distancing and super clean theaters. After watching new releases at home for so long, I had forgotten how movies were meant to be seen. My wife and I can't wait to come back!

Nice place for the movies, especially if you are tired of Cineplex franchise (and live close to Whitby). Tons of screens, very good seating, and it is now ALWAYS reserved searing for all shows, which is super useful.

Honestly, one of the best Landmark theaters I've been to in the Ontario area. They recently did a renovation to the place so the inside is more spacious than it was before, and you got a self dining area where most of your food options can be picked up before you go to the counter to pay. I put this above a few other Landmarks because they seem to have a lot more food and movie variety. Plus the spacious comfy seating in the theater is on par with the special Cineplex theater in Don Mills, but almost half the price. Highly recommend.

I don't live in Whitby. I'm 30 minutes away without traffic. With traffic, probably 50. That said, it's totally worth it to me to see a movie here. I used to go exclusively to Cineplex VIP theatres. The price was high but was worth it for decent seats and less people to make noise/be distracting. I now cannot justify the cost. Landmark does almost everything Cineplex VIP does (no in-seat service) but does it at more than half the price. You get fully reclining seats. You get many options for showtimes. You get food that is much more reasonably price (no cooked food, but still a lot of options), and you get lots of parking. I also feel like you're subjected to less ads before the movie actually starts. And the ads you do see? Mostly movie trailers. It's amazing. I feel I'm actually paying for a movie vs paying to watch 15 minutes of ads and then a movie. If you have the option to go here, do so.

Since they updated the seating it's been a nice experience when I've went. Much more like viewing a movie on your couch at home, which is nice. Still, food and drinks are overpriced and of really poor quality, so I recommend eating out first to the point where you don't have to waste your money on their snack bar. If you are one of those people that still goes to the movies, this theatre does the job.

Best place to watch movies in Durham, seats are extremely comfortable and a lot of food options outside that can cater to anyone's taste. A simple yet great place to go out for a chill night.

This has been my husband and my go to theatre for the past twelve years. We had our first date here and it continues to be a favorite date night spot. The recent renovations have taken the theatre to the next level, and the recliners are comfortable and spacious, even in the smaller theatres. The concession area is a little confusing now but once you realize where to go the selection is great and the snacks are tasty.

Lots of theatres so there is usually a good show time and/or movie you can see. Inside it's usually pretty clean and recliner seats are great. Reserve seating is here, so you know where you'll be sitting and how full a show will be. Prices for movies and concessions are close to what you'd pay elsewhere.

Love the seating for the regular screenings. Such a pleasant way to view a movie. The cinema is a little old in some ways. Doing a upgrade but keeping it's retro feel would be awesome. It's a nice place to go especially if. Movie has been out for a little while.

Landmark offer good comfortable seating. Most of their theatres are equipped with reclining seats. They offer 3D and IMAX viewing experience. They have a good selection of food items at their concession stands. The theatres are surrounded by a number of restaurants and desserts places.

One of the few theatres in the GTA that has an imax screen. Plus 23 other screening rooms of varying size. Popular movies have shows almost every 15 minutes! Easy to find good seats during the week.

My preferred theatre in the Oshawa Whitby area. They have a lot of theatres so you get more variety of what you can watch. I use the atom app to book tickets ahead of time so I never stand in line for anything.

My only complaint is the fact that the reclining chaurs are too high above the ground as my legs float in the air, cutting a bit of the circulation unless you push the button to let it go down but I don’t want to have to! I just wanna watch a movie. Not sleep! Great place, otherwise!

The comfort of the reclining seats at Landmark are amazing! You can also remove the armrest in the middle of the seat pair to cuddle up to your partner if you’re on a date night out. The theatre rooms feel more intimate and cozier with fewer seats than your standard theatre to allow room for the reclining feature which is standard on all their seats. I personally prefer the experience at Landmark compared to Cineplex. No gimmicks like 4DX or expensive VIP options. Just a good theatre with great seats for an enjoyable movie night out.

Incredible recliner seating, good sound and image quality and reasonable price $13 for a Friday night. The screen was too low so when the leg rest was extended my feet got in the way of the image. Also there was no popcorn available the night we went because of some power issue. For me, living in the GTA, this is too far. I’d go again if there was a more convenient location.

I was going to just rate this 4 stars because it meets every expectation I could hope to have as a hardcore movie lover, but their covid safety protocols are shockingly good. Let's just get this part out of the way. If you want a good, comfortable, immersive, memorable time at the movies, you really don't need to look any further. They have you covered with everything you could want. Comfortable seating? Check. Easy to find theaters? Check. Great sound that can shake the seats in an epic adventure? Absolutely. Good, conveniently available food? Go for it. They got you. Don't got a darn thing to worry about. Now let's get to the important stuff. Covid safety measures. They have limited seating, but the seats are in pairs so you can go with trusted people like family and stuff. They also don't let you sit in the seat beside someone if you didn't purchase your tickets together. Good call. Hand sanitizer is readily available. Staff is kind and courteous. They even changed the way you get your food to make it safer, and it's barely any slower either. If you want to go to the movies, seriously where else are you going to go? You can feel the love of cinema at every corner. They love showing the movies as much as you love seeing them. Just do yourself a favor and go.

Rarely disappointed with the service and cleanliness. 5 star would've been given except congregating and socializing teenage employees especially at the front door can often intimidate younger children and seniors. Break up the 'parties' and this place is near perfect for a theatre.

Great value compared to Cineplex - date night Wednesday's is an amazing deal (I never used to get popcorn or treats, but the deal is only a couple dollars more then the regular ticket price). Getting to pick your seat at booking at no extra charge, and the leather recliners in all theaters is also a huge bonus.

Nice place! The choices of movies are vast. Best tip is to use the atom app. You get in faster and you can get free movies. I do like the food however after the renos ive noticed somethings. Its easy to steal popcorn as you can just take it out. Also some ppl grab the popcorn , touch it , then put it back in.

Not too bad of an experience for the price. The screens are smaller than Cineplex screens but you get more leg room. The whole place itself is huge. You would think they would put in a proper arcade and more stuff to do.

This place is busy 90% of the time. there is minimal parking when it is busy and you would be wise to buy your tickets in advance of you want to watch here. The theatre itself is very large and spacious even when full. The staff are okay and like most movie theatres the food is overpriced but good. Recently however they have introduced lazy boy style couches and they are amazing. Sidenote the arcade is absolutely terrible. Overall not my favorite but it's in a good location.

This was my first time going here since the renovations and I loved it. It looks great and there's so many choices of candy and snacks to have, though pricy of course. I also like the new little seating area. Though I wish they had replaced the taps in the bathrooms. I hate the ones where you press it and hope you finish washing and rinsing your hands before it stops.

I always watch IMAX 3D and the movies are awesome, seats super comfy and they recline and ofcourse buying tix online is where it's at. The place looks brand new inside annnnd... they serve alcohol in there now! Plus the snacks section looks like a legit candy store. Very cool! It's all about the experience now not just the movie itself.

It’s completely renovated. I’ve been avoiding this theatre for a couple years because it was so run down. It’s so pretty inside now. The concession stand is a grocery store style so you just grab what you need and then pay the cashier. They also serve beer/wine I noticed. They have leather recliners and everything is awesome!

If you haven't been to the movies lately, a lot has changed. The seating is like your recliner at home. You grab your own popcorn, drink and snack, then pay for it. There are boxes to carry it all with at the end of the line. There are also blankets you can buy to snuggle in and be warm, if you don't enjoy the cool refreshing air conditioned theater's. There is even a beer and wine concession stand about to open. Get out and try it!

Very neat and clean movie theatre. Cineplex is my usual place. But for The Lion King I decided watch it here for the first time. I must say it exceeded my expectations. It is very well maintained and the seats are very comfy. Unfortunately, the 3D effect didn't work for our IMAX show. It was disappointing and some people started to leave the place. After a few attempts they ended up screening the 2D version. At the end of the show, the management gave away free passes for any show in future as a compensation, it was a nice gesture to respect their customers and keep them satisfied. I'll repeat.

The best movie theater around. Hands down. You get a free refill on popcorn and pop, and they have those really cool drink machines with many different flavours. It's huge so it never even feels that busy. Much better compared to Cineplex. Would rate higher if possible. All the workers I have had the pleasure of dealing with have been excellent.

Always a favorite place of mine. The wife loves movies, and this is the best place for them. I have been here many times over the years as the theatre has switched hands, but it has always been a great time. My personal favorite because of the reclining theatre seats that offer ample back support. However, being unable to get a refill on my drink is just pure trashy. You guys totally wrecked the concessions.

It should have been easier to use my prepaid ticket. No signs were posted directing me, no kiosk, so I ended up standing in line anyway. There was a smell in the hallway...I felt like a good cleaning was in order. Movie theatre itself was fine.

Great ticket prices, great food selection, and extremely comfortable seats. You always have enough space between you and the person next to you to enjoy watching the movie in comfort. Most of the theatres also have reclining seats. Since the recent renovation they've changed their food area into more of a food court style. The selection is a lot larger, but the free pop refills and the use of Atom to pre-purchase and skip the lines for good is gone. Overall this theatre is 5 stars. A comfortable place to sit back, and watch a movie.

Horrible customer service! A bunch of 14 year olds running the place! I had been going here since I was a kid and take my kids. Landmark has turned this place into a mess of horrible staff and construction. I won't be back. there online booking payment caused my ticket date to change back to the current date and not date I had selected but all the other information was the same. I then tried payment again and it was fine. It went through. I then went to the theater and they scanned my ticket and sent me in the direction of the movie. I bought $35 in drinks candy other things. We all sat down in "our seats" and someone else seems to have the same seats. ... Long story short my daughter and son had to leave the theater or wait for the next movie which I had the IMAX recliner tickets so we would have been waiting over an hour and I had to work in 2 and a half hours so that won't work I'm not at all happy with how it was delt with. I wasted my time and money just to be told here is a free admission for each of you this happens all the time. Don't worry about the fact we scanned your ticket, told you what theater your in and sold you $35 in food before realizing it. If this happens all the time you should check out your online ticket sales then.

Loved the theatre, the concession area was unique where you can pick all they goodies you want and just pay and go. Such a time saver especially when your running late. The theatre was following covid protocols and placed everyone two seats apart. The theatre had recliners which were very comfy and added to the overall movie experience. Will definitely go back here again!

I, like the rest of the virtually sold out IMAX theatre for "Black Panther" on the Thursday premiere at 7:00pm, was one of the people who accepted the TWO (2) free IMAX-inclusive admissions they offered to us on the way out after informing us that the projector(s) were down. Understandably, there are/were a lot of disappointed people considering how highly anticipated this movie was, and I can only imagine how much of a nightmare this was for management and the staff who had to break the news to us. From what I could hear before the moans and groans made it nearly impossible for me to hear anything else (I was near the back of the theatre), this was a problem they had been working to fix since 4:00pm; derailing not only the "Black Panther" IMAX screenings for the night, but also the "Fifty Shades Freed" show that was scheduled to play in that 4:00pm time slot. With 3 hours to fix whatever the issue(s) were, I would've had little trouble believing it to be possible, but alas, it was just not to be. They waited until roughly 7:20pm to tell us, but I'm sure they would've either truncated or not shown the previews if the projectors were fixed in time. Also, for those who may have forgotten, Disney owns Marvel Studios, and you now have the option of seeing it in IMAX a second time. I decided to go to a later show (in 3D) and enjoyed it, and may even see it again, in IMAX this time. Anybody who berates the management and staff over this has lost touch with humanity. It sounds like they did everything they could to make sure the show wasn't a complete loss, and when it was painfully obvious that it wouldn't happen the way they'd hoped, they were not only willing to reimburse the tickets ($17.99 each), but also attempted to cover the cost of concessions. I applaud the management and staff for handling this horrific situation as well as they did, and will definitely attend this theatre in the future.

We love Landmark! Recliner leather seats, the best popcorn, great sound, big screens .......how could one go wrong? We collect Cineplex points and have a Cineplex 7 minutes from our home, yet we almost always opt for Landmark which is 20 minutes away. You should go!

I had never been to a landmark theatre before this year, and now I am not sure I'll go anywhere else. Large amounts of recliners combined with reserve seating gives that VIP experience without making VIP prices. Highly recommend.

Can’t wait for the construction to be over, but still my favourite theatre in the gta. I drive from Milton to go here with friends. Freestyle machines are worth the price of admission and the reclining seats are the best I’ve ever tried.

The construction sucks but I'm excited to see the end result. I've been here a few times and really love the reclining chairs and size of the theatres. Make sure to keep that into consideration when picking your seat. Because it's recliners the back row is further back then you may think depending on the theatre you're in. Good experience here usually.

Excellent customer service! My husband and I went here a week after we got our free movie tickets won from a radio station. However, the movie title on the free tickets are not being shown by the time we got there. We were assisted by a staff on the Guest Service section (i think her name is Olivia) and she made it possible for us to use the free tickets for any movie that night. We really appreciated her move in that situation.

Took the kids to see Frozen II, and had a great time! They have taken out the traditional concession stands, so you have to find your own snacks, but thankfully it was an afternoon show and not too busy. The missing star is because there is no 'employee discount' for getting your own food.

Went on the weekend to watch Logan. Love the Atom app. We were able to order our tickets and concessions thru the app. Then when we scanned our ticket, they automatically knew we were there. We got to bypass the long concession stand line up and our order was ready for us by the time we got walked to the front. The theatre we sat in (I think it was #12) was very comfortable and spacious. So much leg room! And the seats in the row in front of us were low enough that it didn't block my view. Very important to me since I'm pretty short! We would definitely go back. We've been a few times before and have always like this movie theatre but this visit was the best so far!

New reclining seats are nice, but the new concessions area is stupid. Popcorn didn't taste nearly as fresh and got cold quicker; theres no more hot butter, just that simulated butter flavoured topping garbage, its all self serve so you end up having to juggle everything while you wait in line to pay. It is not at all an improvement over the old style. Even the temporary stands were better in my opinion. Also, bags of chips? As if the popcirn bags werent bad enough to listen to all movie. I don't mind the extra 5 minutes it takes to drive to Cineplex.

Their reserved seating system sucks it showed only the first rows free but during the movie 1/2 the seats were empty, the construction was also off putting and does not lead to a great experience, the the projector was out of focus on either side of center.. So all and i would avoid this theatre.

For the most part its okay all around, the newer theaters in Durham do outshine it, but the location is a nice date night spot. If I was allowed to change one thing, it would be the popcorn, That popcorn is one star out of five. You're paying for microwave popcorn, not movie theater popcorn. If they fixed the popcorn issue, then I would go to this theater more often. But because of their microwave popcorn, I go see my movies at Pickering & MorningSide.

Yeah, definitely best theatre experience in the area. What a difference a comfortable chair makes when your sitting for 2+ hours. Being able to snuggle with your S.O. is pretty great too. I like how easy it is to grab your popcorn and beverage. Fake butter sauce liquid is pretty tight. I enjoy coming to the movies again since the seats and other changes. Love it.

Awful customer service. Only had one line open out of 5/6? Waited in line 20 minutes only to be told I cannot buy an access pass here, I would have to go to customer service desk. Line here was very very slow. Thomas was doing an amazing job, but he needed help to deal with volume. Popcorn was so stale. Never again.

Perfectly arranged seats...need to improve in housekeeping as whenever i went there whichever screen I go to watch movies, I found papers and cup on the seats...it seems housekeeping just go in don't see these garbage in cupholders. My favourite movie theatre. Why pay for a VIP entrance when you could just go to Landmark. Didn't realize what I was missing as I was going to the cinema in Ajax... I would rather drive a bit more and really get the most out of a movie experience..even when the movie wasn't that great. 5 stars!

Always a pleasant place to see a movie. Temperature is kept reasonable (not like some theaters that feel like the Arctic). Sound is also at a reasonable level (no earplugs required). Clean and spacious environment.

I will always love going to this theatre but since the renovation, I’m a little more inclined to go to Cineplex. Ticket booth was fine as we always use a Costco coupon so we cleared that very quickly. When we went to the concession, we noticed that you could now see a whole bunch of candy displays and the popcorn is in what looks like fridges (but to keep them warm). We walked around the belts to the cashier to cash in our Costco coupon before we gathered anything as we didn’t know any different. He said we now have to gather our things before we get to the counter. So we had to completely leave the area, walk all the way around and come back in, there wasn’t a way for us to return to the snack area without getting in other peoples way so that was already very annoying. There is so much popcorn packed into these warmers that there would be no way of knowing what is fresh, if at all. So, you can now expect to get stale popcorn no matter what. I’m also not overly enthused by the thought that I could be grabbing a bag of popcorn that someone decided they didn’t actually want and put back or the knowledge that any of the bags you grab could’ve had someone else’s hands in them already. I had to go to 3 different drink dispenser machines before I got a machine that had decent coke, and it was still a little flat at best. I will likely continue to visit this theatre but I’m definitely going to think twice about it from now on.

Easy check in with digital passes. Short line up at the concession. Vending machines to avoid the line ups when there is a lineup, vending machines take debit which is convenient. Simpli debit card wasn't compatible though. Reclining chairs were comfortable to watch the movie.

Love the reclining leather chairs and the fact you can reserve seats in advance however although they may be going through renovations at the moment the pop/drink machine was not functional when we went and the lines to get concessions was long and unorganized. Plenty of free parking but quite a ways away from the entrance to the theatre.

Went to watch Star Wars: Solo IMAX 3D and it was barely 3D. The screen was seem to be regular size. The only good thing was cheaper than Cineplex by $2.51. Luckily my ticket was free.

Nothing special. It's your normal big mega theater in the middle of nowhere. Lots of terrible chain restaurants and big box stores. They have comfy chairs and imax (but, so do all modern theaters). If you live in the area it's a fine complex, but lacks atmosphere and interesting things to do after your film is done.

First time here since it was renovated and I have to say it was an awesome experience. New modern interiors and a huge candy store just inside the foyer. Popcorn is pre-made and available in heated glass displays that you bring up to the counter to pay or add butter. I thought it would be stale but it was fresh and there were no unpopped kernals . This is brilliant because it reduces wait times for snacks immensely. The theatres have been redone and all the chairs recline and are much more comfortable than the ones at Ciniplex venues.

I love the 100 flavor drink stations and the extra comfy reclining seats. I was here recently to see Aquaman with my sister and my niece. We had to see it IMax 3D because the regular tickets were sold out. I loved the large screen and the fact that it was a curved screen but I did not enjoy the seats. I had assumed that considering the price difference you are paying, you would still get the large comfy seats but that was not the case. They were smaller than the ones in the regular theaters and they do not recline. They just rock back and forth. It was a great movie though!

We see a movie at this theatre almost every weekend. They have the most comfortable seats and you really do feel as comfortable as home. I love using the ATOM app it make it so much easier to go see a movie. My only negative is when using the app I also order popcorn and ask for it to be prepared before I arrive and I get a text saying my order is ready but when I get to the counter it’s not ready and I have to wait for first someone to notice I’m there then prepare it for me. This is a consistent problem not one time has it been ready when they say it is.

I've been coming to this theatre for years and while they have this renovation on I've been hitting up 10pm shows on weekdays and getting in for free. I always buy concession to support this theatre and I use the Atom app, which is stellar, and lets me cancel when I'm in my seat. They have to fix this massive leak in revenue loss, but for Johnny Movie-Goer, its fantastic. Popcorn is alright too.

Great food, great seating. This is why I personally rate it 1 star: 30 minutes left of our film which we traveled an hour to see was disrupted when a group of about 10 people snuck in and sat behind us. Immediately they started being very loud and disrespectful. After a couple verbal altercations with them after the movie was done, we go to leave and the group is outside the theater door with the manager. One of the ladies started making rude remarks which I responded with "Do you want me to be loud? I will be loud". Out of nowhere one of the guys in the group hits me in the face! When my boyfriend tried to step in, he then punches him in the face! The manager called the cops and they came. After talking to the cops, they said they can't do anything. The manager and the cops did absolutely nothing about any of what happened. The guy that randomly hit a woman and punched a guy walked free after sneaking into a movie and being rude and disrespectful. Let me be clear when I say that my boyfriend and I did not touch them in any way. He threw the first hit - at me. It was all caught on camera but NOBODY did anything even though there were witnesses. First time to a movie since covid started and we experienced such a horrible time. That's why I rate it 1 star.

This theatre has excellent popcorn and the reclining seats really make the movie experience enjoyable. I took my family to watch The Adams Family 2 last night. There were some issues with the young staff not knowing how to scan the vaccine QR codes and check ID. If this is required then please make sure to train the staff properly to avoid holding up lines. I was showing the QR codes for myself, my older daughter and my husband and the staff member that was walking around checking told me “I can’t scan that we don’t have a scanner I need to see the other page.” What other page? There is no page because I don’t keep a printed copy of my vaccine certificate and most of Ontario is downloading the QR code which I had. He didn’t have a clue. Then another staff member said to him “yes we do scan the QR code” and then we were let in. Also, ice was out at the pop machine which was annoying and the straws and napkins were out next to most of the pop machines so that takes away from the enjoyment. If we are paying so much for the tickets, pop, and popcorn, then please make sure to replenish those items, make sure staff is checking. The water coming out of the taps in the women’s washroom was burning hot too, my youngest daughter had to quickly remove her hands because the water was so hot, couldn’t wash all the soap off. I did tell a staff member to mention this to management. Other than those issues we had a great time and will be back again.

I used to come here a lot back when it was an AMC theatre but when I moved out to Durham region I discovered it became a landmark. No big deal. However, after I started seeing a few movies here, the theatre would lose power in the middle of everything! What the hell? They gave me and my wife free passes but then it happened again! This place is clean and it's kept in great condition and the staff are friendly but they almost ended up NOT honouring a free pass that was given to my wife and I. At this point I still have 2 left and I am hesitant to use them. I may come back but it may take some time.

First night out in a long time and decided to go to Whitby Landmark Cinemas tonight as Bohemian Rhapsody just came out today. Went for a 9 PM showing(its a Friday night) and went to order popcorn at the concession stand and was told they have none!!!!! That is insane. That's the staple snack at a movie theater! How could you not have any popcorn?! Unacceptable! 10 workers behind the concession stand and no popcorn!!!! Should of known when there was nobody in line. Disappointed and will not waste time going back to this theater.

I’ve been going here since it was opened. Think it was an amc, no idea. Anyway I used to pay like 6 bucks for morning movies but now it’s 8 which is still ok. Regular pricing is insane though so I’m always sure to have a discount of some sort. Not sure why their concession stuff is so expensive but again I use my student pass or movie ten pack card. I try to get auditoriums 11 12 or 14 as they’re the biggest for certain movies. I avoid holidays here as the kids are brats and their parents are rude and stressed over nothing. I love the reserved seating. I also love telling people to move from my damn spot if they’re in my reserved seat. Its a bunch of kids who work here so they do their best. I think if anything, it’s moreso the patrons to blame than the theatre. People are gross man, spilling popcorn, making a mess, being obnoxious. If you go, go to a quiet morning movie or afternoon showtime. Its usually seniors who at least have some manners and respect for the theatre and movie going experience.

Our go-to spot for the screening of movies that we anticipate the most! We drive from out of town for 25 mins to go here regardless of the nearby cineplexes in our area at home. Our favourite part about the place is their reclining seats. You won't get blocked by other viewers sitting in-front of you because the seat rows are specifically levelled for this. The seats do not turn into full lay down beds, but they come close to it and are very comfortable. Landmark cinema in Whitby also has many concession stands and the line goes by quick. The food menu could use some upgrading to offer more variety. They currently offer popcorn or hotdog combos (drinks and chocolate/candy brands). Our last visit for the Avengers End Game showing was a little confusing as they have internal renovations going on at the moment and ticket scanning booths were at the far ends of the halls, but we found our way to the right cinema room eventually. Lastly, the cinema is located among many chain restaurants and activities such as jack astors, cafe demetres and putting edge! It's always nice to be able to walk right outside the cinema after a movie date night to get deserts at cafe demetres! Overall a great cinema and I wish they would open a location closer to Toronto!

A great movie theater! Although it is a 3$-4$ more difference than other leading movie theater you pay for what you get. All the seats in Landmark are reclining and are very comfortable and some theaters only have 16 seats that's a plus! The only complaint is the conssesion stand is way over priced but that goes for all movie theaters.

The theatres are renovated and they have very comfortable reclining leather seats. Some single, some doubles that are perfect for dates. Free refills on popcorn and the drinks machines are self serve with all the combinations. Great place to see a movie, and in a great location with tons of dinner options around.

Update - April 2019: Landmark is currently renovating part of the theatre to add something called The Marketplace, which will open up their concession stand considerably. I asked one of the employees there about how long the renovations will be. He said they started in March 2019 and should finish by end of June 2019. But other than that, the theatre is still open, but if you're attending a movie in one of the screens in the middle of the theatre, you'll have to take the stairs and enter from the top. Great theatre with super comfortable reclining seats. Tickets are half price on Tuesday and start at $8.99. If you use the Atom Tickets app to buy your tickets then you can get free movies, after you buy 4 tickets (at four different showtimes)

Overall amazing experience when going for a enjoyable outing. The improvements made over the past few years have been astonishing from the concession area to the seating area, its all about convenience and luxury. Also, they allow you to bring in coffee from Tim's, I've walked in with a Extra Large double double coffee from Tim's numerous times without being stopped. I've also seen huge improvements from little things such as 3d glasses being packaged sealed instead of being sanitized by employee's which always left a germy residue in the past and gave me pink eye one outing (I would refrain from watching 3d movies until they made this change). It seems that landmark listens to their consumers input and looks to improve the overall movie experience on a constant basis. The recliner seats are very spacious and comfortable. You will never have to worry about fighting for arm/leg room or getting the back of your chair kicked. Try the Mrs. Fields cookies or the self serve nacho's which you can pour the cheese or salsa yourself and not get gimped anymore.

It was super comfortable and the place was not packed on a weekday at all in fact I'm pretty sure that was the only person in there. Great picture great sound I definitely will be back again. Had a wonderful experience at this theatre! It was clean and all of the staff were polite. I have a medical mask exemption, so I was nervous about attending as I have gone through significant discrimination and harassment at many places, but when I saw the policy on the Landmark site that said they respected exemptions, I was so relieved. I wore my face shield and had no problems! It made the entire experience so great as it's been many years since I was able to go out somewhere for entertainment, so I appreciated the opportunity to enjoy a movie without worrying about harassment. I would definitely come back again.

This is an amazing cinema theater in GTA with 24 screens, there are few constructions still going on but you can enjoy the movies with their great reclining (specious) seats. This is my favorite theatre right now, love the recliner seats, place is always clean which is hard to do when you run a theatre in Durham. There's a lot considered here, if you're waiting for the movie there's things to do while you wait (games), which can be especially helpful if you have children with you. Everything is well laid out and self explanatory however the staff are always ready and willing to help, keeping their eyes open for the person or people that aren't quite sure if they're headed the right way to see their movie. If you're planning on going out to the movies, go here if you wanna avoid the usual annoyances.

I live in Markham and drive 40 min just to go to this cinema it's that good. Not crowded. Automatic recliner seats are STANDARD in this theatre even for regular tickets. It's like getting Cineplex vip treatment at regular cost of admission. Reserved seating as well. Not many food options in the cinema but lots of options around. This has place has now become my default place to watch movies.

Ticket prices are better, they run morning movies on the weekend - which is fantastic, the offer a 10 movie pass for like $97, which is a great concept and deal. The seats in all theatres are nice leather recliners. They can be a little high for shorter people with mobility issues (we needed a stool for my grandmother). I love their cafeteria style concessions. I don't even live in Whitby but this is my default theatre now.

Ever since the update here it is by far one of the best theaters Ontario. When you first walk in it's so beautiful mind blowing the options so incredible. The staff is so friendly the popcorn always fresh. Seats so unbelievably comfortable. Screens and sounds just right the I max is unreal. I go at least once a month I'm so happy it's only a half hour away from cobourg. Definitely 10 out of 10 thanks land mark for letting me get away for a couple hours to really enjoy some good movies.

It was my first time at the theatres in Toronto and I loved it! The showroom was really impressive. They have lazy boys! Can you beleive it. In Montreal we don't have that yet. Huge selection of films and screens, massive concession stand, decent prices. This theatre has a massive variety of films being shown, and countless screens to show them on. There is a good selection of theatres, with standard and fancier options available (e.g. some theatres have reclining seats). The concession stand sells a wide variety of fresh food (e.g. popcorn, cookies, chips, candy, etc.).

Finally a movie theatre that doesn't try to cram you in like cattle. Such legroom, such recline, so much vertical separation between rows that the guy in front of you could be standing and still not block your view. I'm happy with my movie experience here. Returning soon!

Unlimited refills on popcorn and drinks, they have some of the best Seats in any theater. All of the rooms have leather electric reclining chairs. They are literally like a pillow. Landmarks renovations have served them well they have deals for nearly every day of the week please check it out it's amazing. Well worth the trip!!

i go to the movies all the time here and it’s always a great experience. prices are pretty good. the food is kinda pricey but they often dont mind if you bring your own food. i love the recliner seats, they’re comfy af. and im really glad they dont charge extra for them.

I like Landmark. I am not much of a fan of the whole self service situation at the snack area. I can see the logic with preventing people having to wait to be served but I feel the level of service is compromised somewhat by the new setup. The drinks area is ridiculous. The straws and lids and cups are nearly impossibly to reach, even for adults with long arms. The lid dispensers are the most bizarre design, it’s almost impossible not to squish your lid and your fingers. The refill situation is dire - you essentially can’t get a refill. The variety of food on offer is pretty pathetic. Those nachos may as well be made from plastic. The cinemas themselves are decent, seats are great.

Wow! Can't believe it took me so long to try this theatre out! I guess I haven't been to the movies much the past few years ???? Because... I had no idea how comfortable the seats have gotten! Don't get me wrong... there is a lot more things to love about this theatre! It has a modern high end boutique feel that's got IG worthy displays in the main lobby with lots of variety of snacks but I'm not the best to comment about it because I don't usually get snacks at the movies but the seats.... WOW I honestly don't think I could go back to a single theatre I've been to after experiencing Landmarks. It's as if someone moved you while sitting on the coziest recliner out of your living room and straight into the theatre. Combining the comfort of your living room with the experience of the movie theatre ????

Theater seems to have some new life into it. The choose-your-own pop machine's are great. Popcorn oil used to make the popcorn was changed recently, find it to be more salty and less theater-popcorny, prefer the old style.

This has been my preferred theater for a long time. All of their seats recline, they've improved the snacking experience giving you more options, and a largely self serve experience so you don't get stuck behind someone who can't make up their mind.

Just saw our first movie since they renovated the entrance and concession area. Not impressed! Self serve popcorn, snacks and drinks are a horrible idea! Where are the combos? We also waited in line for 10 minutes to get our tickets scanned. The men's bathroom was disgusting when we got there. It was marginally better when we left. It seemed like they were short staffed tonight and even the self serve options didn't help. Are we supposed to scan our tickets and clean the bathroom too? Newer is supposed to be better but not in this case.

The place was empty so i got great seats and no line. Seats are larger and there is alot of leg room. . 25 theatres! opening movies play every half hour no more waiting 3 hours for a movie! But I find it very pricy!!

Horrible. The only thing that I have respect for in this movie theatre is the fact that the seats recline. Their new self serve area is a disaster, place is always dirty and looks like a meth house. I wish I could give it zero stars. I won’t be coming back here ever again

The renovation was well worth it. Very cool idea and it looks very modern. Also the new theatres are massive! Went to see Sonic the Hedgehog again with a friend and it was super cozy. Also the prices are a few dollars cheaper than Cineplex!

Decent movie theatre with true stadium-style seating... expensive like most cinemas, however. Tip: If you go on a Sunday before noon two adult tickets are cheaper than one adult admission any other time. Be prepared for a bit of a walk anywhere you park as the theatre is surrounded by restaurants that are often busy during prime times (i.e. evenings and especially Fri-Sat nights).

I love the reclining chairs, they are so comfy - usually I go to Newmarket/Aurora or Vaughan Cineplex however, I love visiting Landmark every once in awhile as it is worth the drive for the chairs alone lol. The workers are always nice and get you everything needed (movie passes/concession) very quickly.

This is my family's favourite movie theater. We enjoy the spacious, reclining seats that can be found in every individual screen. Guest can also enjoy clean theatres and the help from friendly staff. My absolute favourite thing about this theater is its partnership with the Atom App. I'm able to buy tickets, reserve seats and even purchase concession items right from my phone. Once i arrive, I can let the theater know and my food items are prepped. Once my order is ready, I can walk right up to the counter to pick it up. I also have the option to cancel my tickets, should any last minute emergencies come up.

I've been here just once, to watch a movie in the standard theater (not AVX or IMAX). It was great that the seats could be booked in advance. The best part are the seats - all recliners with enough space and elevation between two rows that the head of the person in front does not block any part of the screen when reclined. Definitely heading here for the next movie.

Small auditoriums but amazing seats. All the seats were large, motorized reclining, and very comfortable. Tickets were very cheap compared to cineplex, but popcorn and drinks were in my opinion way too expensive. Overall a pretty good place to see a movie.

Basically what AMC should've been. A large assortment of goods to get, cheaper than Cineplex, lots of theatres, and better reclining chairs than the neighboring Cineplex in Oshawa. This place also has SIGNIFICANTLY better audio systems than most other cineplex theatres, and has an IMAX theatre on top of that. Would 100% recommend.

Just changed my rating from five stars. The new concession stand is the worst. Combos are gone and free refills on a large popcorn are gone. Replaced with self serve popcorn and pop before you pay. I should be thanking them. Asking me to stand in a long line while I carry a giant popcorn and pop means I'll never have to pay for that pricey stuff again. Seats are still nice though so there's that.

Loved the seats here. Less people and the seats reclined. It was amazing. The inside looks a little old though it could use some upgrades and the food line is definitely different from other places because it is one big line but I guess it keeps it fair. If you download the atom app, you can buy your tickets and food in advance and there's a special line and shorter line up to get your food if you used the app. The staff seem very friendly so overall I was happy with the experience

The theaters here are much cozier than those of larger chain theaters featuring comfy reclining chairs with ample leg room. You can book movies, concessions, and seating arrangements using the 'Atom' app - this allows you the added benefit of getting into the theater faster and using a priority lane for concessions.

Every theatre has comfy recliners! That's a selling point for me! There's lots of theatres, so many choices of movies to see on any given night. There's also lots of restauarants nearby - Jack Astor's always seem to be busiest, so consider a reservation if you want to go there.

We enjoy this theater more and more every time we visit, the recliner leather seats are outstanding, they're nice and have the liftable divider in the middle to make 2 seats into a loveseat size, and the concession stand is our favorite part, firstly they have the amazing Freestyle Coke machines, and then they also have this amazing area to pick and choose many different candies to build a custom mix bag, they have warm foods also and you can make any kind of mix and match combo you desire then bring it to the checkout like a cafeteria style, they have the "add your own butter" machines & they even have large bags of chips like Doritos etc, they offer Atmos, 3D and IMAX and then when you're done there are many of the best child and couple places to visit right outside of the theater doors.

The stars earned go to an excellent theatre layout and super comfortable seats. The floors were a mess of snacks and the abundance of staff could likely have been managing this better. The popcorn was stale, and the customer service at the checkout was not excellent. I will return, and change my review if my experience changes.

Clean, happy to say that the Popcorn and nachos are 100 percent better. Staff is always so friendly and that was never an issue before! Can't wait for things to go back to normal so I can go back!

Love this cinema. They’ve recently spent some money upgrading the various theatres with better seating and sometimes lazyboy seating. As with any cinema... food is just a rip off and always crazy that they sell noisy / crunchy food when everyone is there to pay attention to a movie... but I guess that’s not specific to this cinema. Parking is also very convenient and ample with several chain type restaurants in the area.

This particular theater location has gotten so much better since Landmark took over. The staff are fantastic and being able to secure reserved reclining seats is so much more convenient then waiting in line for the old fashioned upright ones. It would be nice if they had better quality, less carb heavy foods at the concessions but it is a theater so what is being served is what most people would associate with an overall theater experience.

Pros: Very easy to find (can be seen from 401). Plenty of parking spots. 4-5mins drive from Ajax (where I live) so no need to drive to Oshawa or Scarborough to watch IMAX 3D movies. Theater's well maintain and clean. Seats are comfortable and plenty of wiggle room. The floor is sloped enough that the screen can be seen without a problem if sitting behind a tall person. Awesome immersive sound system. Staff are friendly and helpful. Buying ticket online a breeze. Variety of movies available. Cons: Not really a con, just a nitpick...Perhaps more varied IMAX movies showtime, but then Landmark not as big as the Oshawa IMAX location, so time slots depends on how many theatre rooms are available.

This was one of our first recliner style cinema experiences as a family and I fell asleep during a kids 3D movie. Had one of my best sleeps until I woke up covered in popcorn they had thrown at me- I’d do it all over again. Awake or subconscious the comfort level is high and the Landmark experience is a must.

Haven't been since it had been under construction, and it looks great. Unfortunately, because of the restrictions, we couldn't eat. Definitely want to go back once they're lifted. Seating is super comfy, and the loveseat option is great. Sound and picture quality is fantastic as well.

Very clean and spacious theatre. The prices for popcorn and for recliner seats tickets are well worth the further drive. They’re located close to the highway, so it’s easy to get to. One large popcorn and pop cost $16. There are tons of options for snacks. They still have cashiers for tickets, which is good!

We had a wonderful time at Landmark. Staff went out of their way to help us find new seats at another time slot when we accidentally booked seats way too close to the screen. I wish that I remembered the name of the young man who actually went into the theatre to find us socially distanced seats! He went way above the call of duty. I would like to recognize him for his initiative but do not remember his name. If it helps to identify him, we went to the 7 o'clock show in theatre 12 yesterday to see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

My husband and I had decided to try going to the theater for some entertainment after not going for many years. We had gone twice this year so far and it was alright. Love the new loveseats. The one star rating is for how horrible we were treated and the lack of care after the tickets are purchased. My husband and I went to see a movie for our Valentine's day date. The movie was disrupted many times by people in the theater. (Standing in front of the projector (many times), playing on their phones, talking..etc. This was a large group that came in together AFTER the movie had already started. We had the luxury of having them seated the entire row in front of us. I could not tell you what that movie was about. We left the movie about halfway through. No one was watching over the theater and stopping these inconsiderate people. We looked for help and found no one at the customer service desk. We called and left a message for the general manager for the Whitby Landmark Cinema and we have yet to hear back. Not only did we lose money on a movie we couldn't see, but it also ruined our Valentine's Day date. It's clear to us that the employees there do not care what goes on.

Would you just look at these things! 12.99 a ticket and you watch a movie in luxury. Cineplex charges in the 20s for VIP and a similar set up, but Landmark has it figured out with these new renovations and Atom app integration. Cineplex be getting a little toooo comfy but are their movie watchers? Score one for Landmark. Lots of parking, always a ton of showtimes, it's in a plaza BUILT for date nights, great spot. Cineplex still has better popcorn though, tough to top ;)

Oh my goodness, this theatre is amazing! The service is fast and friendly, the theatres are so clean! I'm so impressed at the reclining theatre seats as well! They are super roomy, luxurious and have a power reclining seats with extended foot rests. The seats are arranged in love seat style, so you can even remove the middle arm rest and cuddle with your partner if you prefer. Prop Tips: The Tuesday Special is $8.99, a great value for what you get at this theatre They also have a great SPC deal which includes : General Admission, Medium Popcorn, and Medium Fountain Beverage for $16.99 + tax, EVERY DAY They don't have their own app yet, but you can buy tickets through the Atom Tickets App, which lets you buy tickets, pre-order concessions, and invite people to go together, but also pay separately.

This theatre is amazing. I love the staff. My ticket was to the wrong theatre room so they made sure which one I should have been in. There even was a problem with the first showing of Zootopia as it was just set up so I asked them to check into it and they did with a few minutes it was fixed. The food and drinks are amazing. I love the choices they have and the seats are so comfortable in the theatres! I think the games need to be added a few more. Like a DDR machine but at least they have a few games there for kids. the parking is quite big so there is space for you even if it's busy and it's near by so many restaurants if your hungry. it's even right close to the high way so for long distance drivers it's easier for you to take the highway!

Saw a free movie here with the Atom Tickets launch. This theatre used to be an AMC Theatre, a lot of the decor has not changed which is nice to feel that nostalgia. Watched Jungle Book in IMAX 3D, great movie and great theatre experience.

Went and saw Black Panther at the IMAX theatre. Picture was awesome, sound was awesome! Got my tickets through Costco. About $30 for the Tix and they included food for the four of us. I love the Coke Freestyle machine. You can mix your own fountain drink. Seats in the theatre are very comfortable. Definitely recommend for any big screen experience.

Personally I love this theature just wish there was a point system or loyalty program. Make you experience best open the app store on your phone download app called atom, load your info and credit card on app, buy your tickets and concessions on app and never wait in line again just scan phone. I love being able to book my seats far in advance that way it's not a free for all; they don't have the annoying you cant leave one seat between empty rule and they offer refills here on large sized concessions. The pop machine has many selections and is really good experience over all. They recently sunk a lot of money into improving confort at no extra cost here as of late. Most screen seats have electric reclining but a few dont including IMAX but none less all seats are now leather and comfy. The IMAX theater also got a huge over haul opting to use IMAX laser tech the image in noticeably better (brighter, darker blacks and more color over all) and on biggest screen aspect ratio it's awesome, it doesn't stop there though the sound even is enhanced with tech creating a more dynamic surround experience then before. The IMAX is definently worth the extra few bucks for the big block busters of year. The wash room are pretty clean and modern, but small arcade area definently nothing exciting. Pretty big parking lot and clean plaza, with plenty to do and eat near by definently worth giving a try especially if you live close even if you have another theature closer to you. They also offer some discounted days as other theatres like cheaper movies on Tuesdays or even you can get a cheaper price from Costco admission pass and more.

What an amazing experience! I watched Deadpool 2 for my first Landmark visit and what a great time I had! The seats are so comfortable and they recline electronically! Lots of leg room and huge theatres ensure that everyone is comfortable at all times! The screens are a bit small if you sit in the back but most seats have a great view. Popcorn is delicious as well as you can add as much butter as you want for free. Will return for sure!

The seats at this theatre are second to none, and while the new(er) concessions confused the hell out of me until I figured it out, it's a great system. Whitby Landmark has a great selection of films and special events, and is extremely clean. It's a little out of the way, but this is my first choice theatre in Durham.

They have reserved seating which is really great because we do not need to go early in order to get good seats.The staff is really friendly both at the ticket counter and at the concessions.The washrooms are clean and well maintained.Parking is free and ample.

This movie theatre is the best I’ve ever been to and I can’t stop going back! Since I’ve been going here, for about a year now I haven’t gone back to the local Cineplex I used to frequent. The service is good, but the comfort is incomparable to any movie experience. The seats are all recliners and they’re perfect for grandparents with low mobility or who can’t sit for long in those uncomfortable movie chairs. The theatres themselves are huge and there is a ton of space in front of you. Even sitting very close to the front your watching experience is still great. Also, Costco offers discount movie packages for this theatre and it’s basically a steal. The only downside to this place is that they do not offer food options inside. Just basic movie theatre items ( popcorn, nachos, pretzels, confectionery candy).

Lovely cinema. Staff is always friendly and the theatre is always very clean. They have set up sections for covid to make your visit a lil easier. They ask that you arrive 20 min before your start time so it can help with the traffic and flow in the cinema. They have sections for concessions (someone gives you your popcorn and your cup for your drink and you fill your own soda) then you pay. They've spaced out capacity in each theatre and while not a lot of movies are coming to theatre they have a $5 movie deal for older movies. They also have protocols they talk about before your movie comes on in the previews which really helped make me feel safe about being in a theatre. I truly enjoyed myself and while I won't go to the movies too much during this pandemic I'm happy to know I have some piece of mind being in public again

I used to love me going to this theatre is very all others in Durham and now I cringe every time we go to the movies (we go to a lot) because I know what I'm in for every time. Hopefully these changes are worth it and I will put my rating back up.

This place is currently under renovation for the next few months and is pretty much a warzone, with temporary concession stands, half-functioning soda fountains, and alternate mezzanine entrances to their biggest auditoriums. Make other plans.

I used to visit here frequently (often more than once a week) but stopped when they put the new seats in after trying them several times. The fabric on the recliners doesn't breathe at all which makes it very uncomfortable after about an hour. The Imax seats leave no leg room to stretch resulting in my knees cramping badly as I'm fairly tall. Disappointing that I'm no longer able to get comfortable in either option. I wish they had retained half of the classic style seats in the theaters so people had a selection. With all the seats they ripped out there would have been plenty to retain 2-3 rows at the back of each theater with spares for replacements. If you like the seat options then it's a great theatre. And since I no longer go you can have my seat! :)

Overall I had a great experience there. When I initially went there, the power went out for the entire plaza. However, they reimbursed us with passes to see our movie at a different time. The staff was friendly, and we were able to select our seating too, which was quite nice.

My daughter Stephanie Vincent paid to take me to see Momma Mia Two at Landmark Cinemas and even bought us popcorn nachos and drinks and Mrs fields cookie bites. She totally surprised me and the movie was gripping funny with lots of dancing and emotion. I paid for the cab. Not a fan of the new set up. Popcorn in a heated shelf to take yourself (who knows who else has dipped into it) and no refills. We had a issue with the sound and they refunded our movie and also went at the next showing. That was great customer service!

In the morning, there are certain movies in the morning and it only costs $8.50 per person which goes up to $17.00 plus ????. Instead of you paying $13.50 for an adult and $7.50 for a child which goes up to $21.00 plus tax and for 2 adults it goes up to $27 plus tax.

Nice spacious theater however I didn't like the self serve aspect of the concessions. Popcorn, soft drinks, coffee and literally everything you had to get yourself (I'm not employed there but somehow I'm working) with no self serve discount. By the time you get your own hot food (nachos, popcorn etc) and stand in line to pay you get food it's cold when you get to your seat.

The movie we watched was good and the new seats are nice but the bathroom over the last few times we went has smelt like cat piss. Not sure why but since the work has been done it smells. It's only the one bathroom that smells. Over all a good place to watch a movie. Good sound good picture normally priced theatre food. Friendly staff. They just need to figure out what happened to the bathroom and fix it. Not overly happy with the fact that you have to pick your seats before you get there and can get stuck beside anyone and not have the option to change seats. But I'm sure that people ordering online think the pree picking seats is a good thing. It has changed the way I plan out my movie nights as I have found if you don't preorder your tickets getting the seat you want for the movie you want is hard to get. I miss the days where you could go out for dinner walk over to the theatre and see what's playing and pick your time and movie based on when diner ended. Now you have to plan everything out in advance and finish dinner based on a preplanned movie time. So if the restaurant is fast you will be early but if the restaurant is busy you will have to rush your meal.

I was very fond of this place before, great seating, with the reclining seats, nice atmosphere kinda like and old school movie theatres felt when I was a kid. I had to take a star away due to the new concession area. Yes it does look nice, kind of like going to a candy store before the movies but the popcorn. I get trying to be innovative but the popcorn... I'm sure it's no problem on a busy day when popcorn needs to be replaced but when things are slow which are the times I like to go the popcorn is sitting in the shelves, sure its kept at high temperatures to keep its quality but regardless of how hot it still starts to get stale, I even went as far as to grab a bag closer to the back in Hope's of getting a fresh bag, nope still stale. There were about 30+ bags of popcorn in the warmers unmarked with time popped so you risk getting a really old bag if that one bag was unlucky enough to not be picked that entire day, not to mention the new butter "layering" which pretty much gave no butter at all was pretty poor too. Part of the movie experience is hearing the popcorn machine popping FRESH popcorn and being greeted by a friendly face behind the counter, the and this new system kills that and kind of dulls the experience. I get the new look is suppose to be more appealing but the human interaction seems like a company trying to disconnect from their target audience rather than engage and adapt. Changes should be made to mark bags of popcorn when it was popped so customers know if they are getting stale popcorn, slightly less stale popcorn or fresh popcorn. Mystery popcorn is not a fun game going into the theatre. Other than that still a nice place to watch, great you can reserve seats and recline in them for comfort. One change I am looking forward to my next visit is the new beverage bar.

Went last week to watch Us, and was very disappointed in the lack of alternate accessibility for those with accessibility problems. I was with my friend who prefers to travel in a wheel chair due to his lack of mobility, however if necessary can walk short distances. We specifically reserved seats towards the bottom of the screen to ensure we wouldn't have an obstacles to overcome. When we got to the theater, we used the side entrance which did not have functioning motor doors for those in wheel chairs. We also found out that our theater bottom entrance as closed due to construction, and we had to use the top entrance. This resulted in him having to make his way all the way down the stairs. Now, my friend is able bodied enough that he can walk, however if someone came to watch a movie that was permanently wheelchair bound, they would not be able to watch that movie at all. I told an employee about my problem, and the only help I got offered was to grab one of the "usher guys" to help my friend up the stairs. The problem isn't that we needed help, I could help him if necessary. The problem was that there wasn't any thought put into how to close off the theater, or even put a disclaimer on the website stating some screens had limited accessibility.

The renovations are WOW! The new concession area is so different...I can't imagine going through there with kids ???? and trying to keep track of them. You go to different areas to get the items you want then once you've grabbed everything you head to the cash. It's a beautiful upgrade though and fun to explore as an adult.

The number of screens (24) gives you so many movie choices and varying showtimes that almost certainly you can just show up and something will be about to start that will interest you. They put me and my friends into a show that had already started. arrived at 9:45 and they put us into the 9:30 show? When we got pop corn and drinks it was 10:15 and when we realized their mistake, the only seats we could get all together for the 10:30 show were right at the back!!! No apology or anything. So because these kids are making $14 and hour they think they are allowed to screw up a person's night and not apologize? Heres a thought for you, fire 2 of them and higher a really kind, well spoken person for $28 and hour to "run the show" and watch over them.

I was impressed with the entrance and self serve options. I was not impressed however with the cleanliness of the entrance after you walked out of the checkout, popcorn all over the floor. I was in the ladies bathroom as well and the stalls had toilet paper everywhere. As I was washing my hands I witnessed an employee come in check the bathroom, pick up some paper towel by the garbage can, put it in the garbage and then went and signed off on the bathroom. The theatre seats had pop corn on them. Pop corn in the cupholders, didnt look cleaned at all. I suggest you get your staff members to work harder and quit chatting around like they are at school.

Theater was nice and clean. I felt protected because they follow COVID-19 protocols for social distancing. Only problem I had was that by the time I got back to my seat my popcorn was cold. Nothing beats having your popcorn freshly popped. Taking the bag from the warmer is just not the same. But I will definitely go back again!!

We have been coming here for yrs and due to pandemic we stopped for a few yrs and just went back recently to watch Shang Chi Legends of Ten Rings. It was such a great experience because a) theatre wasn't full at all (there were probably 3 Or 4 other families in the theatre) everyone is totally spaced out including more then 2 people in your family. The reclining seats will not work in between 2 seats to ensure social distancing which is great. Food is delicious, reasonable prices and seating is super comfy. Def recommend this place and def recommend this movie!!!!

Best movie theatre I've been to! Spacious seats with reclining ability and also the ability to lift a handle to make it a loveseat. I also don't feel congested like in other theatres. They've set up a unique area to purchase concessions where you pick up whatever you want (i.e. popcorn, nachos, drinks, etc.) and then take it up to the cashier to pay. It's definitely unique but I'd like my popcorn served fresh.

This theatre is cheaper than cineplex and the reclining comfy seats are greatest, you can also raise the arm rest in the middle if you're with your SO, most comfortable theatre experience I've had, wish they had more theatres around Toronto, you can also order your drinks and food online in advance so you can just pick it up when you arrive. Also, you can make your own fountain drinks and the drink station.

So happy to finally get back to see a movie at the theatre. It looks quite a bit different and the changes are great. I was worried about the self-serve popcorn and not getting to layer the butter, but they have some cool gizmo that layers it fine after you purchase it. Black Widow was great don't forget to stay for the post credit scene. I missed getting a picture of it but they have a separate beer and wine commission. I only took a few photos, there are lots more things available

What we like about the theater was the great comfy seats and excellent screen and sound quality. Minuses were, the selection of films which is generally not very good for adults. Films are usually for children, young, adolescents or young adults. Finally if you are nervous about covid its probably not for you at this point. Though vaccination certificates are required there were many who didn't wear them in the hall and they were not required in the theater. This means the experience while good for some, is not for everyone.

Has better popcorn than cineplex the recliner seat are slightly smaller but more comfortable and I am a large guy. Also they have love seat where the middle arm goes up so great for dates. Also they temperature in there was comfortable unlike cineplex which I find is usually cold.

I used to love come ng to this theater so much and this is the first time I have been out to see a movie since covid began. I m seeing Dune and the theater is expressly busy. The minus 2 stars is because the lineup to pay for food was so long, all the way back to the ticket booths, so I could not even buy any food for the 2.5 hour long movie or I would miss the beginning, even having come 30 minutes early. If they can find a way to fix this issue I will increase the star rating.

I love going to Landmark Cinemas, went there today to see the 8:15 Avengers Endgame Movie. The only issue I had was how hot it was in there. Felt like a sauna in cinema 15, by the time we left. I love the space and the reclining chairs. Please just fix the room temperature.

Newly renovated and looks awesome. The new snack area is very cool where you can go around and choose your own drinks and snacks. The beer, wine and cider bar is not open yet but looks like it will be a great addition to the front area. The best part of the theater are the reclining seats!!!!! Leather and cushy I actually fell asleep before my movie began because they were so comfortable. If all theaters had reclining seats I would go see many more movies!

Always a great time at Landmark. We drive from Toronto to Whitby to see movies here. The price is cheaper than a regular ticket at a Cineplex and they have reclining seats that are super comfy. They also have amazing concession deals that don't gouge your pockets. Would highly recommend this place for a movie

The seats were so comfortable and the technology used for buying tickets, checking at the door, and buying the snacks was very practical. Staff were super nice as well. The only thing I didn't get was that they left dimmed lights on during the movies but not super annoying.

Lots of screens, most of them a good size. They are upgrading all of the seats to be recliners, although they are using two different models. One is quite high, and if you don't recline it, it's actually kind of uncomfortable. If you use their app, you can pre-order food just before you arrive and skip line, which is nice. Whether you buy tickets through the app, online or at the theatre, all seating is reserved, so you never have to arrive early to get a good seat, or pay money only to find out you are stuck in the front row.

NEVER been so disappointed in a place in my life! After reserving tickets weeks in advance to see Bohemian Rhapsody for the 630 showing, we arrive to find out that their is NO hot food of ANY type. NO popcorn, pretzels, etc. due to some sort of problem. Ok. These things happen. What I can't believe is that the theatre offered NOTHING to all the people for the obvious inconvenience! No discount coupons, etc. NOTHING. We had not eaten dinner due to the early start time on a Friday night and were starving. Thanks for the great customer service!

I can understand why so many people say the place looks outdated. The carpet and seating should really be replaced, never mind cleaned more often. Since it changed hands I feel that the atmosphere has become dirtier. It is not to the level of cleanliness as say, Cineplex. Additionally, it is more expensive than Cineplex. The ticket price and food is very steep. I am lucky enough to have pass for the handicapped but this is through Easter Seals, not Landmark. I will say that the service is really great. The people selling the tickets and food are super nice and polite. I have never had a bad experience with the individuals who work at this location. This is probably the reason I can overlook what I mentioned above and keep going back. If Landmark got bought out by Cineplex or another company, I would hope they keep the remaining staff on hand.

Great set up, basically help yourself to various food products then go stand in line to pay. You can get tickets for 2 at costco that includes movie passes, popcorn and drinks for $33 which includes tax. Seats are reclining so comfortable and spacious. Only downside is spontaneity as you have to reserve your tickets in advance if you want a good seat

Favorite theatre in Whitby and surrounding area. Reserved seating (before other theatres started) is great, recliner seats are awesome. And bonus to have Coca-Cola Freestyle machines where you can mix your own pop and get free refills. AND 1 free refill on large popcorn.

First of all the access to the entrance is messed up. Who designs with the entrance away from the parking? I like that you're able to reserve seating. I love the fully reclining, very comfortable chairs. My reason for only 2 stars is the picture quality. The screen was fuzzy. Like static in the background image. It almost gave me a headache. Also, I would like to have a selection of more than just butter for my ????.

It's time for an update. Empire took over this theater from AMC, but it's really show it's age. Stained carpets, broken seats, a concession stand that looks quite old. There's lots of theaters to choose from and love the complimenting restaurants, but I'd much rather go to a newer theatre with cleaner amenities and new food service offerings. Please don't order a coffee here. Horrible.

Just went to watch paw patrol with my daughter this morning. Food price is reasonable. Seats are great. They have big leather seats with arm rest that can be removed. Only negative is that the Popcorn is a little salty. Best to buy tickets online and select your seat before hand.

Extremely dirty and poor customer service. The concession section looked so filthy I was shocked! I have never seen a movie theater ,where as soon as you enter you see garbage EVERYWHERE and employees walking around like dead zombies! I felt as I was in an episode of the walking dead. The customer service was brutal, asked for cream for coffee and got ignored for more then 5 minutes. Finally by the time I was assisted my coffee was ice cold. If we have to spend double to watch the movie at least have the decency of keeping your theater clean. Spend some money in maintaining the place as well train your staff. Will never go back here again. I gave 1 star only because there wasn't a lower rating.

Was there on Wednesday night. The new concession is not very good. My popcorn was not very warm and who knows how long it sat there before because it was chewy and stale. I’m not the biggest fan of self-serve/self-checkout. I wonder how many jobs that were eliminated as a result of this. I honestly will not be going back to this location.

The movie "Star Wars" was very good. It was hard to concentrate because my feet kept sticking to the floor. Time to take a mop and a bucket of hot soapy water to your IMAX theatre. I shutter to think what it looks like with the lights on!!! One more thing, what movie theatre runs out of butter for the popcorn!! Oh! I should clarify the star rating........the movie gets 4 stars...... the venue gets none.

I didn't realize how much I loved landmark until being in Toronto and surrounded by Cineplex. So many commercials and no previews there whereas Landmark is reasonable with varying previews and a lower price and more comfortable seating. Miss this theatre.

not crazy with the new way you have to order tickets and they delegate once your selection is made where you sit I think you should be able to pick anywhere at the last minute don't like the whole new snack bar setup either picking your pre-poured popcorn out of a warming fridge and your hot dogs all over the place don't like it, out of 5 I give a landmark now 2 2.5. and Friends anniversary thing that we paid $13 per person for so $26 was literally a little bit of promotional stuff at the beginning and showing us for old episodes and that was it once the last episode was done house lights come up and we were done. Complete and utter ripoff.

Update since they renovated I won't be going back. There are no more combo deals. If you like the way you're supposed to see a movie (go up and order a combo and go) do not go here. You have to pick each item and then bring it up to the cash and pay. There is way too much going on. I did not come go the movies to go to a grocery store.

Kids complaining that they snuck into an 18A movie and got kicked out because they were underage and didn't get a refund.. no why would you!? You broke the law and they could get penalized for it. So you don't deserve a refund and that is your punishment for doing something wrong.. "Tear it down and build a cineplex or AMC"... it used to be AMC.. and AMC is not in Canada anymore... I have been to Landmark before. This time a group of friends and youth from our church ( RTT Durham 550 Kingston Road) went to see the movie Overcomer. It was everything we hoped it would be. The reason for the 4, it is because I do not like the way the popcorn and candies are being sold. You pick your popcorn and or candy and or your drink and line up to pay. The free butter is on the other side. It was a little chaotic and there were . However, the selection at that location are better than most movie places in Dueham so, I will go back again.

Easy online ticket purchase and seat booking. The combos, as with any movie theatre is pricey, but that's pretty standard across the board and the popcorn here is above average. Lots of screens, lots of showtime options and the leather reclining seats are a great asset. The seat upgrades does decrease the number of ppl the theatre can accommodate, but that's easily taken care of with the showtime availability and the online seat booking options.

Great venue. Good size theaters. The concession stand is all self serve and yet there is still slow moving line ups to pay. I do love the real butter injectors INTO the popcorn at the cash. Love seat chairs are nice but the centre armrest doesn't go back far enough so when you lay the seatback down the centre armrest hits your shoulders.

Adult Combos at concessions were removed for "They thought it'd be too hard for people to follow combo guidelines" according to staff. Despite doing a massive renovation, adding alcohol sales, streamlining ticket sales and making their concessions 'self serve' and downloading the labour onto the customers to acquire their popcorn and drinks, all of which are cost saving measures, except for the renovation, the ownership sees fit to remove the reasonable ability to have a minor discount on already over-priced and cheap quality concessions. I've been going to this theatre since I was a child, and now will be taking the longer drive to Cineplex in Ajax or Oshawa for my movies.

The theatre is currently under construction so the concessions are limited , but available at both ends close to the active cinimas. Unfortunately for those that have difficulty walking (like myself) the renovations do make for a longer walk. The recliner seats in every theatre do make the movie experience worth the minor inconvenience or the renovations.

Clean, recently renovated lobby area. prices are way cheaper than Cineplex locations. Too bad only a few landmarks in GTA, but i usually go watch films there rather than go to closer Cineplex locations

Whitby’s Landmark Cinema is expensive (when compared to Cineplex) but they have an IMAX theatre. I am a huge fan of action movies in IMAX, so this is a big deal for me. There is a large selection of quality restaurants in the same complex, making Landmark Cinemas the perfect choice for an evening out with friends or family. A great place for all ages!

The concession is excellent and the food tastes great. The price of a ticket is the same at Cineplex and I would choose Landmark over them any day! I have to say, before I knew about Landmark Cinemas I would always go to Cineplex, collecting points and going to see a movie at least once a month. Then I started going here and I have to say for the past few years of going here its my most recommended and preferred spot to go enjoy movies or even doing anything in durham!! The seats are outstanding that ive been and paid extra for vip at Dundas square cineplex and they weren't even remotely as comfy and roomie as the seats here are! Ive been to this location more times then I can count and will always be my number 1 choice for watching movies!! the snacks are great, the workers are always friendly from my experiences and the movie watching experience is outstanding!! keep up the good work!!
